Can we treat Pinhead's box like Onryo's tapes and stop Franklins from forcing a drop?

I'm getting real sick of Pinhead just being able to bring a game offering (sometimes not even needed) and just beelining for the box because of its predictable spawns, then nothing gets done because Pinhead just keeps forcing box drops over and over and using chains to deny us finishing it.

If Onryo doesnt make survivors drop tapes, Pinhead shouldnt make people drop the box. Hell, the restricted item category in general shouldnt be dropable, even if it means survivors can hold onto flashbangs.

  • Thing is you 'use' Pinheads box, it replaces your item because you use it like you would an item.

Onryo tapes are passive, you don't 'use' them.

You could argue you use them to interact with the vhs players, much like a toolbox a generator I suppose. Honestly I've never understood pinheads synergy with franklins, I've brought it up before as it grants him the reward of finishing a chase against the cube without needing to complete one, or at the very least make it despawn when interacting with the perk.

But that's just my opinion~ lol

No, you literally don't use them. You get a big button prompt to use Pinheads box. Tapes are just a passive effect that allow you to interact with a TV in a certain way.

It's how they're coded. Tapes don't take an item slot because they're not an item in the same sense.

Besides, their potential interaction with Franklins would be opposites.

Pinhead wants you to drop the box, Sadako doesn't want you to lose your tape. As long as you hold it you're getting condemned.

I didn't say they weren't passive, You use them to tune out the target tv and cleanse your condemned. By making a survivor drop a tape you can potentially stop them from cleansing condemned and also stop them from tuning said tv out. There could be uses for it imo. if you think about it toolboxes are passive too just increase gen speeds lol.

As for the box, then he should finish the chase, there is likely a reason he is such a high kill rate with the data released, and it's likely how much pressure he can apply without doing much effort in the 4v1. ofc his 1v1 isn't the best, but a perk which lets him shortcut his 4v1 pressure is quite lame, if survivors could drop the box it would be fine to hide it, but they can't.

  • This should be a thing for all special items, vaccines included

  • I honestly don't see the synergy with franklins as a problem.

Map offerings are the bigger problem honestly.

  • I don't think the problem lies in Pinheads synergy with franklins, i think the problem is the discrepancy between SWF and SoloQ. As swf, it's perfectly fine. The one closest to the box spawn gets it. No big deal. But in soloQ it's hell. You have to go, because otherwise there might be noone going for it. But then it might happen that everybody wasted their time running across the map. More info for SoloQ would solve the problem imo.

  • Yeah its pretty obnoxious. They need to add an aura read to all survivors when the box has spawned so we can see who is going to the box. The spawn zones on the game need to be changed as well, I literally just faced this.

Franklins with a game offering on pinhead. With lethal pursuer you just triangulate the area the survivors aren't and that's where the box is.

Dude popped the box before the first gen was done then you just TP to the survivor with the box again, rinse and repeat. There's like 3 spawn points on that map for the box.

  • I don't think Franklin's is the problem here.

The problem is how predictable the box can be sometimes and maps like The Game are just badly designed regardless of who the killer is but especially for this since it makes it too easy to interrupt the solve.

I just want them to add the survivor action icons already so at least solo players have a better idea if someone is going for the box or not.

  • Franklins is not really too good on Pinhead imo. You get the box anyways from downing the survivor who has the box, and more often than not they are being harassed by chains anyways. It is better for overall pressure to just run something else over it (personally I think Hex: Ruin is a good filler spot since Chain Hunts cause inactivity on generators so it helps slow things down, and with Surveillance it can be a strong combo, I feel like everyone sleeps on Hex: Ruin since it got nerfed when it does have some applications here and there).
