Sorry you can use stats to say sadako is good but plague isnt one of the best even though the stats show it like your point.
Picking and choosing like I said.
If I was saying that Sadako was the 6th best killer in the game, then your point on plague being the 2nd best killer in the game would work.
But all I'm saying is that Sadako is doing well in high mmr something that people have generally said wasn't true because she was weak.
Idk why this is such a hard concept for you to grasp.

Plague second strongest heck yeah! Go stats!
No one is saying this.
I'm sorry you can't have a reasonable discussion about stats.

Never said that, nor do I think shes the weakest.
Once again twist words like you twist the stats to suit you. Use the stats all you like, I'm just gonna ignore it.
You got upset that my first post in your topic was pointing out that the stats do show something such as Sadako is doing well in high mmr. Top 6 kill rate in high mmr is performing well.
I'm sorry you have some hatred for stats and refuse to accept any kind of reasonable interpretation of them.
-

I'm out.
I cant be bothered to deal with people that say you can use stats for "this" bit not "that".
No you're just twisting the stats to suit your own thoughts and opinions. You cant take what you want and disregard the rest. You do you though, notifications off.
Someone really doesn't want to admit that Sadako isn't doing poorly.

Right and plague is the second strongest killer in the game...
Ugh stop using stats that don't actually mean anything to us.
All I said was the stats show that Sadako is doing surprisingly well in high mmr. Which given she has the 6th highest kill rate out of 29 killers is good.
At no point am I claiming that Plague is the 2nd strongest killer in the game or that Sadako is the 6th strongest killer.
Acting like the stats show absolutely nothing is just as wrong as thinking the stats show the whole picture.

Can no one read...
Sadako was near the top for ALL MMRS, not the top mmrs..
She's in the 61% kill rate with Oni, Pinhead, Blight, Nurse, and Spirit in the top 5% mmr graph. With Dredge (62%), Plauge (63%) and Wesker (65%) being the only killers ahead of her.
Looking at the exact kill rate values by mmr, she's the top 6 killer in top 5% mmr.
-
The stats are certainly incomplete and don't show the whole picture, but I wouldn't say they hold no ground. For example, the stats show that Sadako is surprisingly effective in high mmr.

I don't know. The ability to kill without hooking is pretty powerful, and while it may take a lot of effort on the Sadako's part (maybe, I honestly know very little about the build, I find Sadako very uninteresting personally).
Freddy got alot of complaints, got a ######### load of nerfs, and has been left untouched. Sadako, as far I'm aware, only got her buffs from the PTB and then nothing else.
Again, my knowledge of Sadako is very limited, so I might be wrong.
Pig can kill without hooks as well.
Pig only got touched when it became possible for do by afking and even know pig can still follow and keep a single survivor from getting their rbt off.
People also complain about Myer's tombstone addons and those haven't been touched (last time they were buffed even) in any significant way.
I don't see Sadako in threat of seeing any nerfs anytime soon.

So what I'm hearing is knowing BHVR, they'll look at these stats, decide Sadako is OP, nerf her and the add-ons.
I feel like what's more likely is she gets ignored
Look at Freddy who has a collection of bad addons and a relatively weak anti-loop power. Yet Freddy is still able to maintain a decent kill rate and hasn't seen any changes since his last round of nerfs.
-
@NomiNomad said:

That's true. I've been lucky enough that I haven't gone against that build yet. That relied pretty heavily on slugging, right? If the new slugging changes go through, I'm curious how much her kill-rates might change.
The build is pretty addon dependent. You need the condemn spreads via healing and some way to get tvs back faster which the best bet is the iri videotape which imo is an insane addon that should probably get toned down.
I think Sadako's basekit is a bit too weak as if you tried doing condemn slugging without any addons you just have no threat since your ways to spread condemnation are very slow without addons. I personally would like to see Iri Videotape get toned down and some basekit improvements to her tvs, but somehow I feel like that won't happened.
What would be nice to see with these stats would be addon usage rates per killer.
-
@NomiNomad said:
Pinhead is not surprising imo. He's arguably the killer that has the biggest advangtage against Solo, other than a good Nurse or Blight I guess.
Sadako is a little surprising. I can count the amount of times I've died to her on one hand.
Wesker isn't too surprising? I don't think he's too strong (but I recognize I also have an insane bias towards him right now.) I wonder if it's just because he's new.
Sadako can bypass hooks with condemnation which is a strat some high mmr sadakos have been using.

@neb said:
wait... sadako is actually good?
Iri Videotape is a pretty cracked addon. Then you have condemn strats that have gotten more popular recently.
Basically she can cheese out kills ignoring hooks so I can't say I'm too surprised to see her having a high killrate.
-
Real answer is "none". Survivors will find some excuse to dc regardless who you are playing.
-
His design was just not well balanced for dbd. 50% action speed slow and aura reading on alseep survivors were huge things to just have basekit.
The trade off was he couldn't attack awake survivors which lead to situations of freddy being unable to do anything about unhooks. Oh and he was basically just a m1 killer because all his power was, was put survivors to sleep.
Was he bad? I lean yes. He was pretty easy to exploit if you knew what you were doing and self care actually countered him because all you needed to do was fail a skill check mid chase and he had to put you back to sleep. His kit was more of a noob stomper. If you didn't understand what he did, it would be easy for him to just destroy you.

These comments sound suspiciously close to the ones that said that Off The Record was going to be on every single game and it would create the role of tanks and would destroy the game because people would run around with 80 seconds of invulnerability, entirely disregarding that for those 80 seconds you'd have one less player in the game if they wanted to take advantage of the full effect of the perk, and the fact that a single stabby stabby immediately gets rid of it and puts them into mending.
I honest to God don't see how someone who doesn't tunnel has to worry about DS when it already disables in the end game or when you literally do anything beyond just existing. It's an even worse version of Off The Record because you can just stab them and leave them on the floor and that means one less player on the match and two health bars to heal for them to reset.
I have only seen DS used "offensively" once and that person was dead 10 seconds later. I honest to God think people are pretending that the problem would be bigger than it actually would be.
OTR isn't ran every game because of the endurance no longer stacking. If endurance could be stacked like it was on the ptb it was going to be a common perk.

That was at a time where it had no deactivation conditions. That's it. Nobody is suggesting to remove those conditons
Even with deactivation requirements, if you make the stun time too long it will be used aggressively. That's why it's tricky to buff since there's not really anything else you could buff that would really help ds.
-
That would be absolutely broken.
BL used to passively reduced fall stagger and it lead to some maps having literal infinites.
-
Because when ds was at it's strongest survivors were actively using it offensively against the killer.
DS is a hard perk to buff because you make it just a bit too strong and survivors will be forcing killers to eat the stun.

legit way to win you say? With the right killer and the right build its impossible for survivors to escape
Camping = hatch game
It is a legit way to win. Nothing you have stated disproves it from being not legitimate. Your problem is you are tying your personal bias to the rules of the game.
-
Some people seem to think they have to speedrun getting all the cosmetics when the event lasts for 2 weeks. It sucks, but you can just move on to the next game. I generally move on when it's very clear my teammates aren't going to save me so they can be put into a 3v1 situation faster.

If the killer is camping, they are not playing the game
If the survivor cannot be saved, nobody is gonna be able to play the game as well, since a survivor will die in 2 minutes making it harder to escape a match (if the camping happened at the beginning of the game)
Being on the hook is still playing the game. Part of the survivor gameplay loop is that you will have times where your actions are severely limited.
I get you dislike camping, but it's a legit way to play and the devs are never going to make it completely impossible to camp. You just have to accept that or go play a different game where you can't be camped.

See i only seen complaints coming from people that were more likely campers posing as survivors just to use griefing as a strawman to get the perk nerfed. People who actually want to play the game don't mind waiting longer on the hook. And its also why every single time I say they should've added an opt out instead of a nerf for the crybabies who cant be bothered can press say ability button 1 and boom reassurance is now gone. But that is ALWAYS glossed over and ignored.
Probably because I am right that no real survivors were complaining about being griefed but filthy campers used it as a hypothetical cried. I have never seen any footage to verify this even happened in the ptb. It certainly never happened to me.
They could revert reassurance to its PTB strength and give the crybabies a way out with the ability button to cancel reassurance. Honestly Why even play the damn game. Posts like these are 100% giving me an idea to run reassurance just to use on people trying to hook suicide out of the game as a way to give them a spanking before they leave.
Given that people constantly complain about how "camping is preventing them from playing the game", people 100% would not want to be left on hook for the rest of the game.
You simply cannot have the ability to completely stop the hook timer indefinitely in the game.
Besides Reassurance is fine anyways. I've seen it used many times to much success.

If they are giving up because they are being grieffed then, well, too bad. Should have not grieffed in the first place. Should grieffing not be punishable?
There is no excuse. Only camping killers were unhappy about original Reassurance. Nothing will change my mind.
I'm sorry you just want to grief your teammates and are blaming killers for a reasonable change so that grieffing this way was not possible.

"And then your teammates give up and you get forced into an early 3v1"
And they can't do that in the current state?
They can, but there will be more people giving up on hook if they are being grieffed by teammates reasssurancing them on hook with no intention of saving them.
You aren't solving the problem, you are just punishing the survivor being camped.
It simply should never be possible for hook timer to never progress, because all that will lead is to griefing. Which is why reassurance no longer allows it be to stacked infinitely.

On ptb it actually countered camping which why it got nerfed ground so campers don't start complaining. If really keeping survivors as hostage was problem there would be far more better ways to change the perk. But devs wanted to keep campers happy.
It was changed because it was a griefing perk. It still does the job at dealing with camping by giving the team more time to pull off a save or finish a gen.

Reassurance isn't about helping the quitters, it is used for the people that intend to stay in the game and try to win. Who cares about the rage quitters. I know there is more people wanting to stay and play than the rage quitters.
No one is going to stay in a game where their teammates are actively keeping them on hook forever.
The perk on the ptb was just a griefing perk.

This sums it up pretty well. Romanticizing people quitting over killers builds is nonsense. Maybe play more matches as killer and you will realize why most of them are using gen defense. Very few killers can get away with 0 gen defense perks, like a good Billy, nurse, blight.
The other thing is, it's always "killer thing should be nerfed, because survivors are d/cing over it". You really don't see anyone suggesting to nerf survivors over killer d/cing against them.

A lot of killers lack the ability to keep up with good survivors, so camping them out and forcing 2nd stage or a trade is more preferable when injuries don't matter.
Stealth killers can still camp, because they avoid aura reading with undetectable.
But what you are outlining is a different issue imo.
-
@OnryosTapeRentals said:
The only thing that needs changing IMO is the aiming.
Idk why they had to change that??? now they feel awkward to use.
The aiming is a bug.
-
I think the current basekit BT is fine enough as a basekit option. It helps prevents survivor from just straight getting downed off hook and helps them get to safety, but doesn't just prevent killers from choosing to tunnel.
I don't think a healthy game is making it impossible for killers to commit to a tunnel. I get it's not fun for survivors, but you have to remember that the killer is the 1 in a 1v4 and if the killer role is forced into making plays they don't want to make that is far more unhealthy than survivors getting removed out of a match.
-
I would love if the survivor objective was more varied in getting the exit gates open. Anything that would force survivors to have to move around the map more often would help create more interactions.
The problem is this would almost certainly require a drastic overhaul of the game. Gen related perks would all have to be changed in some way. While the devs don't seem opposed to making huge changes as seen with the last man standing mori mechanic on the last ptb, that was still pretty tame.
-
@PBsamichShoe said:

They could make it work like the mend timer. When you're in chase the timer pauses.
First, mend is paused while the survivor is running not while in chase, though that was how it worked initially.
Second, pig rbts already pause when the survivor is chased.
As for the topic, you can technically counter it if your teammates 99% the remaining gens and pop them at once then you can try for a hatch escape. But that certainly requires coordination you won't find in solo q. Sadly there's not really much that can be done as the pig should be able to pressure survivor off boxes and try to get rbt kills.
-
Outside of Sadako, the main sound ques stealth killers have are really only heard when they are around striking range anyways. Stealth killers still have advantages on getting close to survivors without alerting them compared to killers who don't have any stealth abilities.
-
Grade reset has nothing to do with match making.
It's unlikely tunneling and camping would ever be removed from the game, because the devs have stated they are strategies and not reportable. Plus there's not much you could really do to prevent it without just giving survivors invulnerability states which is a bad idea in a 1v4 game.
-
It's often pretty obvious that the killer has noed, but there's not much reason to go cleanse all 5 totems to prevent noed compared to letting it activate and then finding it with the aura.
-

Were you BMing? Baiting him into chase, with the underlying tone of “you can’t catch me?”
If you want to play cocky and run the killer, that’s fine…but, if it gets you slugged or hit on hook for doing so, that’s on you. Your “fun,” isn’t necessarily fun for the killer. Perhaps he thought you were trying to make him look like a joke.
No. I never bm any killer I play against. Map was storehouse, ran into the pig after finishing the first gen, ran to storehouse window and ran to the other window and with the distance I put in 15 void energy to get haste to help running the tile.
They gave up, watched them get blast mined, then when they left I hopped on the gen and finished it. They got a down, put a rbt on the survivor and hooked them. Now 3 gens have been done and then I ran then around shack for the next gen. Only went down cuz I ended up running to dead tiles (the new double window tile with no pallet) in the corner of the map.
My experience is that killers don't simply bm survivors because they got bm'd.
-
Honestly the stealing void energy sounded too much, but it's not really a lot since it's 3 which is generally how much you get per action anyways. I think Pumpkins sometimes give 2.

did they actually confirm that base kit unbreakable and mori system would come? it seems to be agreed that both changes are a bad idea.
There's no promise that the systems will come, but they were features put on this year's timeline of things they will get done and unlikely the talk of an early game system that ended up going nowhere they actually developed this system out to an extent.
My guess is we'll likely see a system similar to what was on the ptb, but likely quite different as they put on the ptb specifically to get feedback.

Isn't it always kind of like that on the 13th every month since grades just got reset? I'm just asking since I haven't logged in yet but I find that common in the first few days of a season and then it dies down.
Today is grade reset, but grade reset would have nothing to do with matchmaking anyways.
Either way, Tunneling/Camping isn't really the issue with the event. It would be the stealing mechanic. For an event about trying to earn rewards on an individual bias, it's weird to add in a mechanic that allows you to steal progress from other players.
-
Yeah I don't get the stealing part of the event. They tried to make it equal with allowing survivors to pallet stun the killer to steal, but it doesn't seem equal at all.
-
As someone who used to play a lot of Deathslinger and dislikes what they did with him, he's not the worse killer in the game.
You are just forced to play him as a zoner, because going for actual shots is risker.
-
Why aren't the devs realizing that no one wants to play against swf?
Nurse has already been reworked and survivors will never be happy with nurse as it's unlikely the devs will change how her power functions. Nurse will always be able to blink and survivors will always complain about it. Same with Legion. Legion will always be the killer who runs around putting survivors into deep wounds and survivors will always complain about it.
People rage quitting is not a valid reason to change a killer as there's no way to guarantee the rage quit was because of the killer.
-
The reason why it's tied to escape is because survivors in past events would get the reward and then kill themselves on hook to speedrun rewards.
The event lasts for multiple weeks and if you are in a need to get the rewards ASAP, just play killer.

If players had said, please reduce flashlight clicking because it's being used for BMing and there's also a small percentage of players that are photosensitive, then I would have been fine.
It's when people start pretending to have disabilities they don't have, where I have a problem.
You keep saying this and yet I haven't seen any evidence that people were doing that. Stop trying to downplay people's issues.
