    It's a stupid design decision.

But that's honestly bhvr lately. There was a point in time were they seemed to understand their own game and proceeded to make questionable decision after each other.

As much as I like the look of the realm reworks, many of them reintroduced problems they already fixed.

  • Hoarder only gives value if survivors pick up the box near you and then try to leave the area with it. Otherwise if they instant solve the box after picking up the box it doesn't really give you any value.

It's decent on smaller maps where it'll be easier to hunt down survivors with the box, but honestly even before the addon nerf it was overrated.

It seems to be part of the Survivor Bible that survivors use the word 'Unfun' when they want a Killer nerfed.

Probably because they're aware that saying 'Nerf Artist because I hate her' is not a valid reason, so they hide behind the ever-useful smokescreen of 'Fun', and hope the devs will fall for it.

Survivors realized that they don't need actual reasons to get killer nerfs, so anytime a killer exists that requires survivors to play slightly different it gets met with "unfun pls nerf"

  • Quickscope wasn't bad game design, because Slinger had the whole chain breaking mechanic to function as the counterplay to being hit. But now he has both the wind up and chain breaking mechanic so now survivors have double counterplay against his power.

  • BHVR is unlikely to admit they made a mistake with the nerfs and revert anything.

It's more likely we'll get a new gun using killer in the future who is just a straight upgrade to Deathslinger, because why bother balance the current cast for free when you can sell the balance.

IMO it wouldn't be much of a nerf at all if you don't suck and can at least get a few hooks before all the gens are done.

It's a hex perk. Those are perks that survivors can remove from the game. Adding extra conditions to a hex perk will make it garage. See release Hex: Blood Favor.

NOED is fine as it is. I get finding it annoying, but it's not strong enough that it really warrants such a harsh nerf that you are suggesting.

  • So you want NOED to be a totem perk and a perk with stacks? What a harsh nerf for a perk that isn't that difficult to counter. You have plently of time to locate the lit totem when the gens are finished.

  • Because part of the counterplay to ds is knowing that it wears off. It allows me to decide whether I want to slug for a bit to wait out the timer or eat it.

If the timer got removed you'll see a lot more killers letting survivors bleed out on the ground. And then we'll see complaints about that.

DS is in the most balanced state it ever has been and I don't see a need to change it for any reason.

  • Trickster isn't even that good. Let's stop demanding nerfs for weak things.

  • Low variety is what happens when the devs nerf any killer except for the current best killers whenever they start doing a bit too good.

Killer players who want to win games are going to pick killers that perform the best over those that don't.

  • Permanent sabo should never exist in any capacity.

  • DS skillchecks are already not affected by killer perks that influence skillchecks.

  • Just have another survivor mend you.

  • It's insane to me that there are still people defending stretch res at this point. Like do you really need that big of crutch?

  • The mechanic of snuffing out a boon should break the totem if BHVR wants counterplay to boons to be fair.

If you think a killer can't camp or tunnel and still benefit greatly from this perk then you're wrong. The only thing they have to do is hook each survivor 1 time. In fact it seems tunneling would benefit this perk because if only 1 survivor is left what chance do they have to escape with a full token no way out? Camping is a toxic move by killers and survivors often try to save the person being camped because they know its a toxic move. I guess we should be punished for simply trying to save someone on our team.

Also just for clarification, I am talking about a last survivor situation although I think the perk altogether needs to be changed to half its time. I have seen so many last survivors die with no other option because the lever was blocked off even when the end game timer ran out. This is not fair. This perk does not discourage camping or tunneling. At best it might prevent it from happening for the first few minutes. Maybe you should think about WHY survivors complain about a lot of things in this game. Most survivors in my opinion are just trying to have fun, meme and get jumped scared in a scary game and aren't trying to be the best looper in the world.

If a team of survivors is giving the camping killer 4 unique hooks before all the gens are done, that's a survivor issue not a perk issue.

Same thing with the killer tunneling a single survivor to death.

The issue you are having with the perk is not the fault of the perk.

  • The devs honestly seem so out of touch with their own game. Like there's not many balance changes they make that seem to come from any understanding how strong or weak things are.

  • For killers, boons have no real counterplay options and that's what most complaints are. That and how dumb CoH giving every survivor an infinite brown med-kit.

Let killers break totems instead of snuffing them out and nerf CoH healing value and boons will be a lot more fair.

  • It has always been an issue because bhvr doesn't code for vertical distances. Basically hooks can spawn on either floor but won't stack on top of each other because the game thinks they are too close despite the actual distance away from each other. Get unlucky and have all the hooks spawn on the same floor and now an entire hallway has no hooks.

  • @Dino7281 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2707626#Comment_2707626

Yeah, but as I said, if that last survivor situation is his issue, then Whispers is broken too, I guess?

You are just not going to leave against Whispers as last survivor unless you get lucky with hatch...

There are a plenty of situations in which the final survivor is not escaping out the exit gate if the hatch is closed. Sometimes doors spawn on the same wall. Sometimes the killer can watch both doors because there's no LoS blockers on either door.

There's no reason to balance for the last survivor and exit gate situation, because that's inherently killer sided and there's not a problem with that because the killer has already won the game.

  • There really isn't anything survivors aren't going to complain about.

A perk that rewards the killer for spreading hooks around the match by giving them more time to finish the job when the gens are finished is not overpowered nor does it need a change. The only situation in which the perk can seem oppressive is when there's only 1 survivor remaining and that's a situation that already favored the killer.

Also you complain about camping and tunneling and then want to nerf a perk that rewards a killer not doing that.

Haddonfield yea it was an issue on the map as others have pointed out cause of how it’s set up. I’ve had the idea of reverting it for awhile now but wanted to wait to talk about it after they reworked the map in October like everyone thought they would do but they ended up not reworking it for whatever the case may be even though the map needs it and doing shadow nerfs to window RNG instead I think. Can’t find much about it but from word on the street and since playing seeing a bunch more windows being closed I think it’s safe to say that happened. Now would Old BL still be an issue on it? Idk.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2706960#Comment_2706960

While I understand this, I don’t think reverting it would make it even come close to DH, SB, Adrenaline’s level since pre-nerf those ones were still meta.

Back when BL had the passive it was fairly common to see DH and BL together.

I don't think BL or any exhaustion perks need passive benefits. And BL I would say is probably the best balanced exhaustion perk. A few maps need some drops added to them but outside of that that it's a solid exhaustion perk.

  • Myers has the issue that once you hit T3 all you really have going for you is the ability to one hit down. While he can snowball it requires a small map as any big map with spread out survivors is just not going to happen.

He has no real anti loop (the faster vaulting doesn't really do enough on its own) and no quick pallet destroying.

Oni who can charge his power much quicker and has mobility and ability to destroy pallets quickly still gets destroyed by good survivors. Killers who rely on powering up struggle since gens are done really quickly at high levels.

I think you’d have to prove that out rather then just complain about a problem that Dosent exist. The problem of not having player choice to block is real and currently happening.

There was literally a mod before the devs made a change that prevent the mod from working that would allow you to block players. And many high level players at the time did have long queues because surprise people will block people who beat them for easy games.

  • Because the devs aren't making aspects of the game more enjoyable in the process.

Boons are annoying to deal with because as a killer there's no real counterplay to them besides killing the survivor who has the perk (and good luck if 2+ survivors have one).

Survivor gameplay hasn't changed so instead of having a fun objective they can do while avoiding the killer they rely on the killer for fun.

This has also led to the objective getting so optimized that killers don't have any time to waste and have to resort to tactics survivors find unfun if they want a chance to kill a single survivor.

The game may be getting more balanced but it's simply also getting less fun because the devs are simply not improving the game in a way for fun. Their end result is to see the numbers in the right spot.

  • This such a niche situation where this tech is useful that it's too see why it needs to be changed.

  • Killers absolutely need to be able to destroy boon totems. It's the only way boons will have fair counterplay on the killer side.

  • They weren't thinking.

Even ignoring the health state it provides against m1, a ton of killer powers can destroy the snowman and not grant the cosmetic and you basically see only those killers now because the snowmen are simply too strong against killers who can't break it granting survivors a free hit.

  • Bhvr hasn't done much about people running other cheats that are getting by the anti cheat system.

Doesn't seem like they really care.

Things is, most of those Killers weren't even OP, aside from Spirit ig

Doesn't really change my point. It's only fair that both sides get unfun things removed of we are doing it for killers otherwise why not just only play survivor?

  • @ThatOneDemoPlayer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2700756#Comment_2700756

So Killers should forget about anything unfun to get balanced just because the Survivors are enjoying it? Smh

Survivors have gotten killers nerfed for being "unfun" to play against so it's only fair if survivors get the same treatment now.

  • Bhvr's questionable balance.

Takes them forever to address issues that affect killers and will give unnecessary berfs to killers. It's just like why would I want to subject myself to a frustrating role?

Not to mention having to deal with toxic survivors basically every game. Really wears you out.

  • Both are fine as they currently are.

Sometimes you lose games and that's fine.

    'We all know', big yikes.

A 4k is a 4k, according to the MMR. How it is achieved does not matter, despite your attempts to sway the public discourse that the things you don't like are skilless.

In fact, I would say a killer that 4K's while camping must be doing something right, because I do not see survivors rolling over for that gameplay and freely give them kills. They bang out the gens and walk out the gates. And if they are rolling over, then maybe your issue is with survivors, not killers.

Some people don't want to admit they made mistakes and just want something else to blame.

  • I don't like this idea that people need to learn to have fun without winning is some issue. I've had many fun games that I've lost, because it didn't feel like a stomp. That's not what happens anymore. Games are often just frustrating for both sides and there's always a clear winner, because the survivor objective is extremely unbalanced.

If survivors secure 3 gens by the time the killer hooks 1 survivor, then survivors win. If the killer kills someone before more than 2 gens get finished, the killer wins. There's no middle ground unless one side massively messes up.

People not being happy with the current balance does not mean that people are incapable of finding fun outside of winning every match.

  • @DorkianBae said:

It's funny how just a few small changes could make some maps less awful but they remain terrible for whatever reason while we wait for some massive change that seemingly never comes.

It's not even just that. They had a map pass before the realm reworks and that pass fixed many problematic structures. Then the devs reintroduce those problematic structures, but this time there's a breakable wall to act as a forced time waster.

I don't think the devs realize how strong tiles in the game are.

  • I remember when after the ptb feedback and they made changes to his overheat that made his overheat an actual punishment mechanic for holding the chainsaw out too long. Then the devs decided that they wanted to make sure that overheat mechanic punished you for attempting to make plays and nerfed it.

The devs seem to have this idea that a killer's power should punish the player for trying to get too creative with the power rather than letting players get punished for failing with their creative attempt.

Where I did blamed someone? You play how you want I play how I want. I don't give a ######### about how others playstyle or if someone will DC. But you can't say tunneling means skill. An easy strategy to win a game doesn't mean skill no matter what you say.

It doesn't really matter how you determine a killer to be "skilled". This whole idea that a killer has to play a certain way to be "skilled" is just a toxic mindset. And I don't see how losing to killers you find to be "lacking skill" makes you feel any better anyways.

  • @Sakurra said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2696120#Comment_2696120

That can't be completely true. When I'm playing killer I also get matches that last 5 minutes with 1-3 hooks, but my MMR for killers can't be that high because I'm not that good. So that's not happening only in high MMR. Genrush or tunneling happens no matter how is your MMR. And tunneling can be a strategy, yes, but when there are situations like: 5 gens and 1 DC at first down and the killer will tunnel I'm sorry to say, but that's not a strategy, that only means the killer is that bad that he thinks he can't win against 3 persons with 5 gens without tunneling...

Edit: I don't care about streamers, especially that ozt

So instead of blaming your teammate for d/cing and putting you in a losing situation, you blame the killer for playing to win.

  • BHVR decided the best way to balance killers is to make their powers clunky.

  • @SOULWARRIOR71K said:

I actually disagree with this notion when it comes to killer. MMR is based on kills and escapes. For killer, the only way to pip is to get kills. The more kills you get in a match, the more likely you are to pip. The more often you are pipping, the more likely your mmr is also going up since pipping and increasing MMR have basically the same requirement…. kills not skills. Grade isn’t looked at when choosing who to match you up with, but it does give insight into your ability to get kills and how often you play in a given month.

Grades reset every month and mmr doesn't. So while I haven't played a lot in the past few months my mmr has stayed at its level despite being ash rank.

So no taking grade as some sort of representation of the mmr value is faulty.

  • Bhvr hasn't acknowledge it as an issue so it's hard to tell if they plan to do anything about it.

  • Well bhvr gave him showdown when putting down pools which weren't even that strong to really justify it in the first place, gutted his only useful addons, and even nerfed a gimmick build with pallets.

Not saying all the changes be got were bad since the bt change was good. But everything else on top of that was a bit too much.

He's noticeably weaker against good survivors and doesn't have much going for him outside of his base power so it's really easy to see why killers opt for other killers instead.

It's what happens when devs nerf every aspect of a killer because of survivor complaints, killers stop playing them.

  • When paid killers include Freddy, Ghostface, Pig, and Myers it's for you to make a blanket statement that they are op.

Even then the strongest paid killers still struggle to stack up to the stronger killers.

Ignoring survivors is fine and getting a bottle of water is ok. But doing it specifically because you can’t let the mean guy controlling the pixels on your screen feel better about himself for a few seconds is child like, so thats why its childish.

Also, I’ve made no evidence of me being upset about people bming me, I’m just strongly proving my points with my opinions. And I don’t know why you would accuse me of being a person of bming when my entire post and what I’ve been saying this entire time is that bming at exit gates is completely pointless and that you shouldn’t care about it. I don’t know why that means I bm in your mind but I just want to let you know that I don’t bm ever. It’s pointless.

I'm not letting survivors get to me, because I'm choosing not to engage with them. Not really sure why this bothers so much unless you are the kind of survivor who bms at exit and wants to make sure the killer sees you do it.

Also are you saying exit gate bm is completely pointless? Because you are basically telling me that I need to let survivors bm me at exit gates. Maybe instead of getting upset of not engaging with toxicity you get more upsets over toxicity itself.

But no apparently I'm the child for choosing to not engage with toxic behavior and not the toxic players in the first place. Are you going to tell me I'm a child for muting end game chat because I don't feel like getting called trash by survivors I killed in a match? Or privating my profile so they can't leave toxic comments?

  • @ManOMaker said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2687904#Comment_2687904

I am absolutely not defending toxic survivors bming, I think its just as pointless as everything else killers do to bm. I’m just saying you can stop it by forcing them out.

Also, why the heck do you care about giving the toxic survs the satisfaction of bming you, what kind of petty ######### is that? You will most likely never see these survivors again and even if you ignore them, thats not going to make them stop bming others.

Not forcing toxic survivors because of “not giving them the satisfaction of bming you” is childish behaviour and just as pointless as bming itself.

What's childish about it? If survivors want to waste time at the exit gate I'll just grab some water or use the bathroom. They are only wasting their own time.

Also you are getting really upset over not letting survivors bm you. Makes it really seem like you are the kind of survivor who does this.

  • @Raccoon said:

    How is it getting abused?

It's literally designed to soak a hit....That's not abuse.

It's badly design. But that's just the bhvr special.

  • @ManOMaker said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2687823#Comment_2687823

That is not true. Being stuck on the ground for 4 minutes with no choice is not the same as just having some survivors tbag you at the exits. The difference is that if you are the survivor stuck on the ground you can’t do anything about it except either wait to die or dc. But with survivors in the exits, as the killer, you control how it goes. Just push out the survivors and that instantly ends the bming. The two scenarios are very different.

Survivors will wait at the exit gate for 4 minutes before leaving due to egc. I'm not going to give bming opponents satisfaction of bming me at the end of the game.

If you want to defend toxic behavior go right ahead. I'm not sure why it's is so hard to just leave the game instead of wasting time to bm.

But it's pure hypocrisy to dislike killers for wasting time and then defending survivors for doing the same thing.

  • @ManOMaker said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2687805#Comment_2687805

I totally agree with being the last survivor on the ground, but that is not what I’m talking about. Specifically for survivors bming at exit gates I feel like it’d be a better use of your mental space to not care and move on to the next match.

They are both the same. Needlessly bming to waste time instead of ending the match. Just leave don't need to taunt your opponent that you won.

  • Because it's just a waste of time. You've already won so just leave no reason to needlessly taunt.

Sorry I don't like when my opponent intentionally wastes time to bm. And this goes for killers who do things like leave the last survivor on the ground to let them bleed instead of hooking then.
