  • WOW. That is honestly terrible. I have no words

  • I don't know about rework, but Trapper for sure needs quality of life changes. More then he already has. Maybe change some of his add-ons a little more again. Kind of wish they would make Legion better. Same with Pig

  • The toxicity has been out in numbers lately. The event has brought out all of the a**holes in the community. As killer I've too many survivors just leave their teammates on the hook for no reason. It is starting to get very frustrating how my games end in 5 minutes because nobody will rescue their team. Also with the removal of the DC penalty the rage quitters have come back with their pettiness

  • My list with reasons

Billy: Even though I main him I can't counter him for the life of me. His map pressure is annoying.

Hag: Haven't met one that doesn't use her traps to camp

Leatherface: He is boring to face and a general pain to deal with

Ghostface: His Night Shroud detection still feels inconsistent

Freddy: The passive sleep thing is super tedious. It was fun at first but gets pretty dull shortly after. Plus his dream pallets are still bs

I was about to defend slippery meat, and then I realized I am both new and a memer...

It seems like a decent perk when you are new, and back when it worked on bear traps it was alright, but the chances of getting off the hook even with Slippery Meat are slim to none. Chances are you will just die quicker. Only other time I see it used is on a luck build.

  • How? Unless they changed it all Buckle Up does is make it so you can see how far along others are recovered based of their aura. For the People just lets you auto heal a health state...

  • Hey, if we are talking about making useless perks viable lets get some survivor ones too! Buckle Up, Flip Flop, No Mither, Open Handed, Slippery Meat, This Is Not Happening, Wake Up and Up the Ante are all perks off the top of my head that are essentially useless and will never be brought by someone other than a new player/memer

Hatch is the root of all issues with keys. If BHVR would just replace hatch with a better mechanic (and there definitely is one), then keys wouldn't even be an issue. I don't understand how you can complain about keys, and not see that finding a better solution to hatch resolves the issue altogether.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2344188#Comment_2344188

My issue isn't with hatch as killer. I mentioned it earlier in the thread, but I'll TL;DR here.

All too often survivors give up on objective in 2v1s (and on rare occasions... 3v1s) to play a game of "who can hide until hatch spawns."

I've played hundreds of games where survivors loop a killer long enough for the last gens to be complete, but because one survivor chooses to hide until hatch spawns, everyone ends up dying. I've also seen many games where survivors take the game hostage by not completing their objective as they wait for hatch to spawn.

Survivors are not capable of surviving alone, and the game should not motivate anyone to prove otherwise. Its hard enough to escape solo queue, so why does the game pit teammates against eachother with a mechanic that promotes this dog-eat-dog mentality?

Never said it was a good mechanic. I said it was more than likely never going anywhere. That being said changing keys will make it at least somewhat better. I'd rather have something then nothing

I think Billy is 100% viable, without a doubt. The thing is though, he suffers from being WAY too map reliant, which pretty much hinders his mobility and turns him into a worse Leatherface. Blight can at least play around most indoor maps, including Lery's, Hawkins, and The Game.

He's definitely fun to play as though, and no way in hell trash tier, but sometimes he can be miserable to play as.

I can manage the game, and sometimes I can even swing Lery's, but don't get me started on Hawkins

OK this "us vs them" mindset that people like you try to push all the time on here is really getting annoying....

Definitely reeks of entitlement. "Stop complaining about all the things wrong with my role and complain about how things for the other role need a nerf because it is convenient for me" is what I'm getting from this.

exactly, all I did is stopping to buy anything with real money till I see a real effort on their side, but till people will keep spending money for skins that they won't use cos the game is unplayable, there is not much we can do.

Agreed. I'm about to stop buying chapters as they come out too. Haven't bought cosmetics in at least a year. These devs are starting to care less about the community and more about the money that goes into their pocket. I get they are a business, but last time I checked businesses only got money in exchange for a USABLE product. This current state of the game is anything but.

  • I would use BBQ on certain killers. Wouldn't touch We're Gonna Live Forever though.

  • All it would take to send a message is for everyone in the community to put down this game for some time until the devs can fix it. But if the community keeps allowing them to give us a half-assed job then that is what they will do

even if they focused more on new systems (which is even understandable in prospective), let s not forget that ps4 can handle much better (regarding graphics) games than DBD, not saying there can t be an issue, but one ******* month of "investigation" and not even a word regarding a solution seems a bit too much

Don't know how long you have been in this community but the devs do this a lot. They cannot manage this game to save their life. It has been like this since release. Something is always broken and it takes forever to be fixed with little communication from the devs. Actually the communication part has just gotten worse. But over 5 years time they have not improved in their ability to manage this game whatsoever and that is one of the main reasons why I don't play it as much as I used to

  • Survivors can say whatever they want. Bottom line: blame your teammates. Yes there is instances of hard tunnels where the killer will not hit a survivor even if they are right in front of them. But most of the time (and it is really common recently) survivors unhook right in front of the killer. Obviously I am hitting you back down to make sure that you can't run off to gen rush me (plus no safe unhooks for doing it in my face) and I'm definitely gonna smack you if you are the only one injured. Then there is other times where a survivor will grab you, but they refuse to take aggro from you and once again if I find you, I will at least knock you back down because it means you aren't doing a gen. 95 percent of the time it is the fault of your own teammates that the killer is only going for you

it is quite terrible, I know they solved it for ps5 but on ps4 is almost unplayable, as a surv you can.manage someway somehow, but as a killer i get frame droos almost every time I try to hit, often even "teleporting" me few feets away...result is that I got much slower in completing challenges and get BP

Wow that sucks. I guess the fix was easier for PS5 and Series X but seeing as how not a lot of people have those systems you would think they would focus a bit more on PS4 and Xbox One

  • It needs to be extended. Will it? Who knows at this point. Behavior isn't really great at making up for their mistakes, and they aren't getting any better and fixing mistakes either. For years now the developers of this game can not keep it up and running without issue. It's always something whether content is broken, not releasing at the scheduled time, the servers are down, etc. and I doubt it will ever get better. I know things happen, but the fact they are still this bad after 5 years really sends a message.

  • A good reason is because this game relies heavily on communication for the survivors to get out alive. It is the difference between everyone leaving and everyone dying. From my experiences on console, even at high rank some players seem to have IQ levels in the negatives. Then there is others that only care about themselves. Variety of reasons. Haven't solo queued since crossplay was added to be fair though.

  • I've been out of the loop. Is frame rate drop bad on PS4 and Xbox One? My friends have been complaining about it but I have a PS5 with that version of Dead and haven't noticed anything

  • Nope. Logged on an hour ago. Have been waiting in queue ever since. As killer. At yellow rank. They broke their matchmaking. Even with crossplay everyone is struggling to find matches.

I'm also a p3 Billy main. He's my ONLY p3 and my next highest is HAG. Billy just isn't fun anymore. I played WITHOUT add-on and only downed with M2. The heat crap did it for me.

It is aggravating. I can see why I guess. With the right add-ons and skill one could loop around most maps infinitely. But I think they overdid it. I find myself moving away from him as well because the overheat function seems to make him less fun.

Let's also be fair, DBD doesn't provide a positive learning environment for people looking to pick up new killers.

Of course you don't expect to do well with a killer you just started learning. But by god do survivors manage to sometimes make it a truly miserable experience.

Honestly I blame a majority of that on the matchmaking. Getting high rank survivors when trying to learn a new killer is frustrating. I also believe they should follow through with their idea of giving every killer their own skill level, that way a red rank killer can learn someone new, but not play against survivors who will destroy them.

  • The way I always look at it, at least before red rank, is I will play as relaxed as the survivors will allow. I pressure gens and hook survivors early in the match and when they are unhooked I make sure they can run away, sometimes even heal up fully. But when gens start popping left and right in the first two minutes and survivors start getting cocky then I play my way. If I know survivors are around you I will proxy camp. If I have to set up a 3 gen I will do it as close to your hook as possible and if I have to I will slug my way to victory. The issue with gen times and camping is ultimately some killers like Trapper and Demogorgon have to set up in the beginning of the game and lose a lot of time they could have had to pressure gens. Leading to aggravating tactics being used to catch back up. Survivors working together coordinated can also get one gen done in a minute, at max. Sometimes it takes longer than that to check all the gens.

  • Hatch is not leaving this game. I wish hatch stayed the way it was with the two gen requirement that way there was at least some effort put into getting it, but keep the closing hatch feature. Regardless there is nothing that you can do about it and the devs likely will not change it. The main thing that needs a change is keys.

  • P3 Billy main here. I would argue that Billy is still one of the best killers on the roster. He still has decent map pressure after the changes and his kit is good. But, like Nurse, he has a learning curve which some people are not ready for. In my opinion, no killer should be super easy to learn. You should have to really know how to use a killer in order to bring out their full potential and Billy, Nurse, Spirit are great examples of that. Do I like his overheat feature/cooldown they added? No. I hate it for the simple fact it messes with my cross maps. However I understand why they did it. Only thing I would change about Billy is make it so his overheat does not start while revving his chainsaw. Only when sprinting

  • Running off of the logic you are using, this means that killer perks such as BBQ and Chili, Nurse's Calling, No One Escapes Death, etc should also receive a nerf as they are seen quite frequently in games. Just because something is used a lot does not mean it is OP. It means it is useful (and quite frankly if some of the other perks weren't so useless maybe we would see some variety). If you see it so much then why haven't you learned to counter it by now? You can bait out Dead Hard with a mind game fairly easy. One of the main issues with the community of this game is instead of learning to play against something they complain until it is nerfed.

  • I agree it should just be a 4k. Survivors don't have to have a flawless game so why should the killers? Not to mention that on high ranks getting a double pip is a gigantic pain more often then not

  • Yeah. Lobbys are super slow. I've been queueing as Trapper for at least 30 bloody minutes. Even restarted my game thinking it was glitched

    Okay thanks!

  • I've lost hope for this company honestly. I've been playing since it released on PS4 and throughout the years I've watched the same thing. Every event/update broken on release, no transparency with updating or listening to the community, etc. I used to really enjoy playing this game but as of late it is just feels like a drag and I have more fun playing anything else

"Actually getting annoyed or not doesn't change whether its toxic"

Bruh its in the first line lol. Whether it bothers you (general you not you specifically) or not doesn't matter. Its a taunt and nothing more, therefore its toxic.

I wouldn't say it's taunting but I guess everyone has their opinion. Just another element of the game really.

  • @White_Owl said:

I'm kinda ok with that but please stop with this promo code bs.

I'm not. But I also have played a lot of the old events. Where you could get at least one outfit for free if you tried and worked for it. This just feels like a let down. I agree the promo code stuff is stupid though

  • @DebunkedMonsters said:

Yeah, I think honestly, the rift is to blame for a lot of problems in the game:

    • Everything gets tied to it
    • All lore stems from there, which eliminates the casual commentary by Benedict Baker
    • DBD's identity has lost itself

It was a simpler time before the rift and I think that threw the whole game off balance. Honestly I don't really use it because it doesn't matter that much. Especially considering skins are all that matter to me and they released Tome I's for free to the store anyways.

I like the bloodpoints I get from it but I don't like how they use it for everything. Like it's okay to not have everything tied to it. I agree the game hasn't really felt the same since

Actually getting annoyed or not doesn't change whether its toxic it just means it failed to get to you. Yes T-bagging is toxic as is doesn't do anything to progress the game or have any benefit and its sole reason is to try and annoy another player.

Guess it boils down to a person-by-person basis. To me, this is not toxic. It doesn't make me mad. They just benefit me by standing still

I miss when events actually felt special.

    Same

  • Not quite sure. Believe they said at a point the game was not meant for voice chat or chat in general which is why they don't have it. Of course everyone has a third party to circumvent that

  • @Mr_K said:

People on the other side complained about not having event items because of reasons.

What you are seeing is a compromise. Earn them for free during an event or pay for them later.

You missed my point. You can't earn them for free during this event.

  • @CakeDuty said:

They said they were moving away from doing other events then Hallowed Blight and Anniversaries. What they're doing right now is a 'celebration' I think.

So they'll put effort into making Halloween and Anniversaries more special, but these other former events won't be that big.

That's pretty stupid to me. Doesn't take that much effort to give us some sort of item to gain for every special gen done or special hook obtained and then make the outfit buyable with that item. That is kind of the whole point of these things. You work towards a secondary objective for an outfit. This just seems pointless

  • @Bjario said:

I don't think BHVR knows what an event is anymore.

So true. The old events with the lanterns or the generators/hooks were great. It added a fun element and let you get an event outfit at the same time. This is boring. I blame the rift/tome. If they weren't so worried about putting everything behind that we could have had an actual event

  • Unfortunate. I feel like they really botched this event. You can't even earn outfits through playtime anymore

  • Haven't played a lot of killer, but you will always have the salty people who are mad they get outplayed. That being said, tbagging isn't really toxic. If you are getting annoyed by someone crouching repeatedly, then perhaps there is an issue with what you perceive as toxic

  • @Ihatelife said:

Is that a new music for the upcoming Lunar event? If yes, it's very beatiful and calm.

I believe so, but don't quote me on it

  • I've heard people mention this. So the bus in Autohaven maps is now a safe zone for survivors? As in they are invincible? If so, we really need this map to disappear for a while.

It happens. I just thought it was funny seeing the dev message on my screen while reading your post.

Not gonna lie I laughed a bit myself. Only reason I skimmed over it was because I still thought the only thing up there was about the patch notes.

As @TicTac said, you can see it on the top and right sides (but I'm not sure for phone users). In case someone misses it, here the link of the tweet: https://twitter.com/DeadByBHVR/status/1359624284746956800?s=20

Yes, I see it now. I've edited the post. Will leave this here for anyone else who might miss it like I did.

  • I can tell you as someone who has played with my fair share of randoms, I will not be taking any hooks for you unless you do something for me first to assure you aren't a shi**y person. I've had too many instances where I take a hook so the last gen can be done or so someone can get away, and I get left on my first hook to die. I've helped randoms who have then sandbagged me getting me caught by the killer and randoms who run the killer straight to me. Not doing anything extra.

  • I see what you are trying to do. Good idea in theory, but not for the way Dead by Daylight is designed. Let's compare it to something like Rainbow Six Siege which has both a casual and ranked mode to play in. Rank has this ban system for operators, and typically it is the same operators banned every time because of how good their utility is. Anyone who wants to play those operators must go play casual. BUT here is DBD we only have one playlist, the normal playlist. This means that allowing these bans would lead to the same killers being banned 95% of games (Spirit, Nurse, Billy, Freddy) making them pretty much unplayable. Even after a rework people could still ban them and no one would get to test out changes. This would be the same as effectively removing one of the top tier killers from the game. Not to mention matchmaking already has a hard enough time without throwing anything extra into the mix.

  • Hitboxes are messed up. They are working on it

1 … 4 5 6 7 8 … 23
