True, at least we got Steve to look like Joe Keery...
And at least Quentin looks like Charlie Heaton (Jonathon Byers) 😂
Oof, poor Charlie, I would not want to look like Gollu- I mean in game Quentin.

Oh man that sucks, I'm still not 100% on this though, I'm staying at a 50/50 until the PTB comes out and we hear their voices.
I honestly care more about having their likeness attached to a character but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a tad bit disappointed but ultimately I can understand.
-
Yup, they've done a spectacular job on this one and leaves me super excited for the future. I mean they finally bit the bullet and created a new monster model and animations, so the doors are completely blown open.

I think I've seen it
He said something along the lines of "I can't confirm this yet" that doesn't necessarily mean that they're not being voiced by Joe and Natalia
Check my recent post that wasn't directed towards you, it's sadly pretty crystal clear.

Here's the link, hopefully this works as intended.

Dave on one of his twitter threads, I'll try and post a link here shortly.

They obtained their likeness so I highly doubt Joe Keery and Natalia Dyer won't voice Steve and Nancy.
However, the devs managed to obtain Danny Glover's license for Detective Tapp but Tapp wasn't voiced by Danny Glover.
Proof:
I just thought I'd update you and confirm that the original actor/actress won't be voicing their own characters.

Spirit, Plague, Hag. These three are supernatural in essence, and are the most changed from their original form.
Demogorgon, Wraith, Doctor, Nurse. These four are not supernatural, but definitely superior to humanity in physical/metaphysical ability - some deceptively so.
Shape, Huntress, Cannibal, Trapper, Pig. These five are at peak human condition, and driven by praeternatural focus, inspiring legends about them.
Ghostface, Clown, Legion, Hillbilly. These four are driven, but are a little too gimmicky in their mindsets to ever become optimal as less constrained killers.
Surprise S-tier: Nightmare. He's a literal dream demon himself, and the fact that he cannot truly die puts him over most other killers - they may win battles, but they cannot win the war against eternal slumber.
The Demogorgon might be one of the most interesting cases we have on our hands honestly because he's not even a full grown DG yet.
-
I will always say this even though I really think it's like 95% never gonna happen but I would love to see Pumpkinhead.
-
One of three things
The Demogorgon
The Faceless
The Monster
Any one of those I think can work

Nice

Yup, there's one glorious outfit down, now give me great outfits for the other two.

No, definitely not..
Bill, Ash, David and Jeff outclass her by miles
I think when it comes to breathing and pain sound effects, Bill, Ash, Jeff, David and Jane are all super loud but honestly don't have that bad of hook or madness screams. Then again, Jeff might be the odd man out there.

She sounds like an opera singer 😂
I think atm, she's got the loudest scream in game but that's not a bad thing. ;)
-
That would be awesome but incredibly situational. I can already see a add-on happening where it's a one hit down with a successful pounce attack.
-
I've gotta go with Feng, shes one of those characters that when shes hooked, you know it but I think most actually have good screams for the most part.
-
Did you know that, despite popular belief, NA does actually have Crocodiles in it and not just Alligators but they are extremely rare and very hard to find in the wild.

I assume it took the one that Eleven killed/dispatched at the end of season 1. Cause it just kinda vanished.
I'm pretty sure the Duffer brothers confirmed the first Demogorgon is 100% dead and just a quick question, have you seen S3?

Probably removed for the sake of having a lunge attack.
I hope not, especially hearing them talk about how when the Demogorgon stalks you it slowly opens up its petals, it sounds so badass.

@JAWS_BDSM I've emailed the SCP licensing team, asking about this kind of stuff, and I'll be abke to get back to you soon enough :D
Though if I had to take a guess, I'd imagine an OC would be ok, but to get a pre-existing SCP like say 173 then you would need permission from the original author. I'm not sure about the SCP branding tho or their logo.
SCP-173 is especially tricky because of the original owner of the sculpture. That's why so many SCP games are beginning to create there own SCP-173 model.
-
Maybe but expect people to dig into the files to reveal all the cosmetics.
-
I mean, absolutely they could but they would have to go through so many hoops to the point that it probably wouldn't even be worth it.

I'm excited for the archives, have they said exactly what it will be? I'm assuming its just more lore to read, but maybe its cinematics?
I definitely know that it will have cinematics.

I was hoping it wasn’t 110%. Phew.
Yup, its great to hear
-
It's probably just a bad angle, hopefully at least because they nailed Steve.
-
Didn't they also say you can leap up to high ledges? If you can then that's insane to even think about.
-
I think you can, and if not for base power then 100% with add-ons.
-
I'm loving it so far but the one thing and I've said this in another thread, I'm interested in hearing about is its stalk mechanic where it goes on all fours. They mentioned it but never actually showed it.
-
Meh, as awesome as it would have been to have them come in and voice their characters, I personally feel it's more important to get the actual likeness for the actors/actress. They're probably super busy after all and want to get more shows and movies under their belts.
-
As cool as this would be, I just don't think there's enough story currently to work with but once the archives release that could completely change.

Yes

Not to tell you what to do, but you can put spoilers in a spoiler tag.
Like so.
I'm on my PS4 which has none of those fancy options, very, very sadly. :(

So the Entity must've snatched Demogorgon when it wasn't in the upside-down world.
Yeah, because HUGE SPOILERS FOR ANYBODY THAT HASN'T SEEN SEASON 3
I'm pretty sure the Demogorgon in game is from season 3 which is in the "normal" world and it's still growing.
-
Oh also, just to update everyone, the Demogorgon is confirmed to have a 115% movement speed.
-
Here's the thing though, Barb was already in the upside down when she died so maybe the Entity can't reach into the upside down? That's what I'm thinking anyway.
-
One thing I'm incredibly interested in hearing about is its stalk mechanic where it goes on all fours because they mentioned it but never actually showed it, wonder why?
-
As @PolarBear said, it's either coming up on August 27 or the next Tuesday after that. Full release probably on September 10 or 17, all depending on when PTB hits.
-
It'll probably be this upcoming Tuesday
-
Yup, they are really going the extra distance for this chapter, I mean come on, they FINALLY created a new "monster" model and animations just for the Demogorgon... for now.
-
Yeah, with the recent bits of lore sprinkled in the stream today I think it's one of two options. Either the MF and the Entity have come to a mutual agreement basically and allowed these characters to be taken like @Ahardie said or the Entity actually decided to steal these characters because the MF and the Entity are ancient enemies and the Entity wanted to get one over.
-
Currently, right now, probably would have to say Freddy but when the Demogorgon is added, probably the DG, although the one we get is a baby so maybe not. Oh also, Legion is probably the weakest.

I know a lot of people won't agree with me but I don't like the idea of it not being human.
I just think the design is ridiculous and not at all scary. The other killers are at least somewhat unnerving because they are human in appearance. Their threat feels more real if you get what I mean. When I look at The Demogorgon it just looks ridiculous and contrived. I don't feel at all threatened or unnerved by it. The whole flower-esque head and monstrous body stand out to me in Dead by Daylight, I don't feel scared by what obviously isn't real. Whereas other killers, (like The Trapper for example) have the physique of real people. Their characters have so much more depth:
- They were visibly people once who were forced into The Entity's realm
- They stand out compared to The Entity as evidently human, showing that they don't fully belong in The Entity's twisted world
- They are more menacing as their design is more realistic
Yeah, sorry, couldn't disagree any harder, plus when it comes to the human characters, at least original characters, they always twist and mangle them in some shape or form. That being said, even though I completely disagree with your opinion, I can still respect it and say thanks for the explanation.
-
I personally find it really handy if you just simply want to force survivors to drop pallets and get rid of them quicker. However, as @Chaotic_Riddle says, if you own Shattered Bloodlines then just get Spirt Fury because that really makes survivors just drop pallets left and right.

It depends on how many holes he can place I guess. If he’s able to put many down then it’s a high mobility m1 killer. It’s not gonna be useful in chases but will be for patrolling gens. I’d prefer having something like a 2nd power to help him out with chases though.
Either way, if he can’t put many of these teleportation thingies down then I can’t see his power working out at all.
This is probably just a rumour/fake but I heard that if you leave the portals open the upside down begins to leak out and the survivors legitimately can't do anything when in that area. That's a pretty good reason to close up the portals imo. Yet I've gotta agree, I really hope that the Demo's "big main ability" is not just teleporting.
-
@HatCreature said:
If this is real then The Demigorgon's ability is boring, we already have 2 other teleporting Killers and this one is basically weaker.
If this is real---You can make holes to go in and out of but you probably have GO TO a hole to teleport. If it gets destroyed then you're like Hag and screwed. So you're a worse Hag as you can't use it in chases and need to manually go to your hole to teleport. Or if you don't have to manually go there and just go in one on the fly you still can't use it at loops or in chases because they're HUGE.
This is boring, the community came up with better ideas IF this is true.
Being to able to see blood in the air at base, having a lunge attack, having a dash attack and moving faster on all fours, teleporting to the Upside-down like Freddy but using a simple filter over the screen and not the objects. Not being seen to people in the opposite realm etc.
But if this hole teleportation is what the great Demogorgon can do then all he is good for is camping the hooks.
This is probably just a rumour/fake but I heard that if you leave the portals open, eventually the upside down begins to leak out in that specific area and if a survivor is in that area they legitimately can't do anything. If that's true, then that's a pretty good reason to close up the portals imo. Yet I've gotta agree, I REALLY hope that the Demo's "big main ability" is not just simply teleporting.

I actually really don't like the Demogorgon. It's going to completely ruin my immersion in game. It just doesn't fit with the feel of Dead by Daylight. I'm going to take a hiatus from Dead by Daylight until the hype dies down so I don't have to play against it.
How does it not "fit", just curious
-
Man, this is just one of the reasons I'm super hyped to have a actual monster in the game is because of the great wave of fan art that's going to pour in. Great work OP

I believe it would be especially if they have a hive mind link like the entity does with the auric cells, i mean at that point its just the entity controlling a meat puppet
Yeah, the reason I bring that up is because the steam store description describes the Demogorgon as "untamable" but that could just be fluff for the page specifically.
