Predator when?
They are probably one of the best choices for a sentient non human character as they would see this as a eternal hunt forever.
Isn't that what they want?
Two things, first, Predator is getting his own game after all so that offer is sadly already down the drain most likely. Second, the predator species are mostly honorable hunters who only kill equally skilled combatants but if it's a bad blood or dishonored predator, then all bets are off.

It fine, and I knew about the rig thing, just saying that the Demogorgon is humanoid enough that it wouldn't break their already broken rules at this point.
Either way, this will be a sight to see in a few days.
I'm SO HAPPY that I'll hopefully never hear the argument of "oh, its not a human so it doesn't belong in DBD" ever again, I say bring on the monsters.

I got thick skin uwu, so no worries.
Okay, so here's what they say. Filip starts out by saying this
"It was a bit more complicated then we hoped for, with the rig and everything so we had too-". Cote then interjects with saying "often times when we create a killer we try to reuse some of the animations in this case it was almost impossible". Janick then goes on to say "with the prototype we don't use the model but at some point the model comes in and animation over time and replace what it is and with the first few games the feedback we got was, this is so stupid it looks like a guy in a suit". I forgot to mention Netflix themselves actually sent over the rig and mesh to BHVR. No update on the Hag model, sorry.

I'm not saying I'm right, but I'm also gonna call bull[Bad Word] if you're telling me the Hag uses the same model as the Trapper.
Okay, so for hag, that one I've got zero idea on, I'll add that to the list when I re-watch the dev stream. Also, sorry if any of my statements have come off as rude, wasn't my intention at all.

I need to read Tapp's bio again ^^', but the point still stands, no matter what canonically killed him in SAW, was healed in the Entity's realm. It takes people before death can actually happen. Like Bill, Adam, Jane. On that note, I'll edit my post a bit after this message is sent.
When I say 'Ignoring time', I mean time as humans have conceptualized it. Time for us is different for other beings. What is straightforward to us, is not even glanced at by something that has no concept of or even felt by it.
And you hit the nail on the coffin with that last bit, even the devs said there is more then what you see, and that goes into that 'ignoring time' thing. In the linear way we see it, the killers get added as is. But for the survivors, they could've always been facing after the Demogorgon even before we could play it. That's the main idea that I had. But I always word things weird when it's long posts like these.
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/662443#Comment_662443
The structure is still human, unless they changed that and I wasn't made aware. Look at the Hag, her animation is all gangly and horrifying to see chasing after you, but her skeletal rig is still classified as human. But yes, the Demogorgon's animations are amazing.
Also
@Sotarnicus, the best display of power the Entity has ever shown was taking Kate Denson straight out of our world physically. Up until then, most survivors only appeared because they were in a location of great atrocity, otherwise known as where the killers you see have committed their crimes.
I'm going to re-watch the stranger things stream because I swear they said that all previous killers use thr Trapper model but the Demogorgon just looked wonky with it so they created something entirely new for it. I'll give a update once I do watch it.

@Shad03 said:
Time is not something the Entity cares about. For all we know, the Plague is the second killer who ever appeared in the Fog and we just now are able to play as her. Time is meaningless to a being outside of the concept, allowing it to do whatever it damn well pleases.
Also, no one in DbD's canon is actually really dead. Tapp got his throat slit, for example, but was grabbed JUST before he was officially dead.
The most damning evidence of my point is Bill, who died canonically in Left 4 Dead, but in Dead by Daylight's canon, he was grabbed and healed before his heart stopped.
Also while the Demogorgon is not human, it is humanoid. Which the devs said is all that matters so they won't have to waste time investing in a new skeleton for a non-humanoid animal killer.
On a completely unrelated note, I actually find it quite cool that the devs finally bit the bullet and actually did create a new rig and all new animations just for the Demogorgon. I remember them even specifically saying they tried using the same model and animations like all other killers but nobody was able to take it seriously and would just laugh at it.
-
This is exactly how I also see it, especially with the fact that the entity has grown to be able to manipulate monsters to do its bidding.
-
I actually have a few
Freddy, you literally can't escape him. Even though we have remake Freddy which yes, you can pull him out of his realm and kill him but that puts him down for a few hours to a day at most.
As some already stated the chainsaw bros would probably be the most brutal way to go out, seeing as how your still alive for most of the cutting.
The most disgusting is easily the Plague hands down. Also, realistically, you'd probably die to how much vomit would be coming out of you.
The Demogorgon is also pretty high up there. It's a creature that just simply looking at its maw, you know it would make mincemeat out of anybody that crossed its path.
-
I'm currently rank 4-5 right now on survivor and yeah, I see Clown maybe like, 5% of the time. He's so rare that when he pops up I'm sitting here saying "how do I play against this guy again?"
-
CNET said the chapter will be 11.99 USD so just translate that into euros and it will be 10.90.

Everything, but personally my top two are dedicated servers and the Demogorgon. I've wanted a actual monster in game sense day one of purchase.

I actually hope that we get to see some killers pre mangled and or tortured, I think that would be pretty neat.

I was trying to figure that out myself but couldnt find a way to balance it. Random killer chosen from lobby (8 or 9 players maybe?). Auto kill survivors on downing them. No items. Dead survivors respawn as another random killer. I say random because despite the glaring issue of not everyone having all the DLC, it would be nice not to have more than one of each killer by the time the match is over. I definately dont see this being added, but a fun idea nonetheless. :D
I was actually thinking they could do a limited time event with the Demogorgon where basically, there's 8 or 10 players at the start and one gets pulled into the DG's portal and out crawls the "alpha" Demogorgon. This alpha has both the portals and pounce but any other survivor that transforms only have the pounce because of very obvious reasons. I also completely agree that survivors shouldn't be able to bring in items but can find them in chests still. The real big issue is map sizes, it would basically need to be the size of mothers dwelling to actually work.
-
I would love a infection type of gamemode but good luck finding a way to make it work in DBD.
-
@Impala said:
Besides the bios are there any other pieces of lore I can read for each killer?
There used to be little quotes by a character named Benedict Baker which basically would give a perspective of what he was feeling once he saw a new survivor or killer. Sadly they stoped making them but there all on the wiki for you to read.

That's literally R$50,00 in Brazil, but probably they would adjust the price like others DLC. I don't know if I can buy this.
If they've done it with all other DLC then this one will probably be exactly the same.

Yup, same here but hey, the actor and actress(can't remember there names currently) probably want a decent cut.

It's a baby yet made it past all the other lifestages of a demogorgon?
What I mean by "baby" is that it's a fresh Demogorgon, still growing basically, seeing as how the original DG was around 9-10ft and this one is like maybe 6-7ft? Or it could be a different type of DG.

There is no way the entity isn't using it's hive mind to control the Demo otherwise it would just kill and eat people (probably try to go back to the U/D to make babies out of the survivors)
"To make babies out of the survivors" hmmmm... HMMMMM, taken out of context...
No but seriously, I actually kinda hope it's not completely controlling it to be honest but you're probably right.

God I hope not.
For what it's worth, Trapper had the best Bio since it basically explained the events leading up to when he appears in the Fog in a simple way.
Yeah, out of anything the lore could give us I really want to know how the DG got into this realm and if the Entity is "controlling it" or if it's a Michael situation.
-
I also got a strange feeling that the Demogorgon might have a bio the length of the OG 3 and the Entity is basically putting it in a trial and saying "go nuts", I hope not though.
-
@Shad03 said:
The Hillbilly might also fall under the willing killer list, having been born like that and then outcasted by his family.
They should really go back and expand upon the Hillbillys and Wraiths lore, they feel so dry even compared to Trappers but ultimately all three are pretty bare-bones.
-
@BloodyNights said:
Too early to tell, from what I've seen though it seems pretty decent. It can lay down more than 2 teleport spots, they take a while to dig up, and I believe he gets some type of notification if someone is near by it, not sure what the conditions for that is though. So they could have a lot of map coverage.
The dash is a big question mark, like how far it goes and how fast the start up is, also recovery time. Right now I'm thinking Demogorgon looks pretty mid tier tbh. Not quite as good as Freddy, but not far behind.
Two things I've seen brought up, so for the portals I've heard some speculation that for the base number, its going to be 5 portals that can be placed. Now for the pounce attack, I think we've seen the base max range in the stream. When you see him pounce at Dwight, it looks like he's JUST about to miss his pounce but it's a last second connect.

@Rattman said:
So, Iam gonna put killers into categories. Main measurement here is whether you able to kill this killer or not.
The most ######### tier: Legion, Clown, Trapper, Huntress, Hillbilly, Cannibal, Pig, Ghostface, Demogorgon. Those ones most likely is killable. Some plumbum inside their heads should do the trick. Probably a lot of plumbum if we talking about adult version of Demogorgon. Sad thing, survivors don't have any guns.
Next tier: Wraith, Doctor, Hag, Plague. Is it possible to kill them? Maybe. But their supernatural powers probably would kill you first. Despite this, you still able to figure out some stuff to make their powers a lot weaker. Like, put Wraith in well-lit room. Or use some kind of hazmat suit against Plague.
Next tier: Freddy Krueger, Myers. Is it possible to kill them? Really doubt. They always come back for more. But, well, atleast you can buy yourself some time...
Next tier: Spirit, Nurse. Those ones technically undead. Probably in some other state of being. Can't even think of any way to harm them.
So two things to think about, first, our Michael in game is very strictly based off the first film which yes, he's super strong but ultimately just a insane person. Second, the Demogorgon shows zero reaction to being shot point blank with anything, just a minor nuisance. However, the DG we have in-game is still a baby so it might be able to be put down by simple gunfire.

Kinda ridiculous how different they are on some maps. In the game a purple offerings seems like it has no affect.
I used a purple earlier and we ended up on the Swamp and I was blown away how bad the visability was on that map. But it was like the universe was laughing at us because we got the trapper...
Yup, that's always the risk you take by running those add-ons, you could get a trap placing killer or a stealth killer both of which benefit greatly from those offerings. Also, I believe all indoor maps are designed with having little to no mist.

I would love a Captain Cutler character! I mean granted it couldn't be a skin for trapper like you said, because it has been taken. But a unique undersea diver Ghost character would be awesome!
Though if I could choose, I would totally pick the Creeper for the game
Personally my second choice is Spooky Space Kook and third is the Tar Monster. The Creeper is a good choice though.

Sense the only character that really fit him(Trapper) has been used, lets go with the better option and make him a unique character.

Interesting, but you are saying one of the few. Which are the other ones? If I recall correctly, only Myers has the ability to kill a survivor without using an offering.
I should clarify, what I mainly meant by that is he's one of the few that just simply outright said "yes" to being a loyal servent to the Entity. So, when talking about add-ons, yeah, I believe Mike is still the only one that can straight up kill people with them equiped, basically, showing just how much the Entity respects and appreciates his loyalty because he's the only one allowed to do that.
-
@Impala said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/82209/lore-speculation-all-about-the-demogorgon
Micheal has free will? Since when? He still has to hook survivors for the Enitity, I wouldn't call that free will.
Well, Michael is one of the few that 100% was willing to help the Entity do its bidding. Now, because of this, the Entity basically allows Michael to simply go around and do what he does best, with the right add-ons of course but it still counts. So Mike has like, 95% free will because the Entity respects Michael but for that 5% you're completely right, he still has to play by the rules but he can also break them at any point in time.
-
At this point in time, probably not sadly. Unless they pull a classic "wait until literally 30 minutes before it goes live then announce it" kind of deal, I just don't see it happening.

That makes sense, I'll take that in count when updating the post after the stream :)
Kinda sucks that we got little to no lore in the dev stream but whatever, hopefully if we have a ptb tomorrow, that's where we'll discover more lore.

Bill and Ash have gone against worse, so they will probably respond like they would with any other Killer. Both Davids would probably do the same.
The others would do exactly as you said they would.
Dwight would keep on doing that all while hiding in a locker.
Nea would try to pet and feed her new found pet.
-
Lore wise I've only heard that if a survivor loses all hope then one of two things happen. They are either tossed into the void or, if the Entity sees potential, they could be offered the role of Killer.
-
I know this will never happen but I would love a simple infection mode with the Demogorgon none the less. So the game begins with 8-10 survivors on a map comparable to the size of mothers dwelling. A random survivor is then pulled into a flesh portal and becomes a DG. Once transformed, it's your job to hunt down the other ssurvivors and transform them into a DG army. To compensate the DG's would not have the TP ability(for obvious reasons) but would keep the lunge and survivors could only find items in chests and can't bring any in.
-
Sense all the licensed maps are getting reworked first, HADDONFIELD please, seriously, it needs it so bad.
-
Fun fact, you can actually "burn" a Nurse like the Wraith in case you didn't know.

I don't know, some of that feels very BB language, not to mention the lore stamps state that he is looking for Vigo. Still, I would like to see him making a comeback for Stranger Things, to react to a genuine monster.
Honestly, sense BB has been in the Entity's realm for so long, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's come across a couple of legit monsters during his time. That being said I completely agree with you, I'd love for his return to be with the Stranger Things chapter.

Literally exactly what you stated but man, do I miss the Benedict quotes to actually describe at least one persons viewpoint on new killers and survivors.
