still think ds just needs to deactivate if another survivor is hooked because then you werent tunneled. So tired of a ds user unhooking infront of my face and i down them and then i have to wait for about 30 seconds which slows my momentum to a crawl or i can chase the recently unhooked oh look the ds user had bt Great... and they probably have ds as well....fantastic.

The problem is if an injured survivor comes and unhooks, then both of you get downed within seconds because one of you got hit during the unhook. If the other person is picked up first, you still had 0 chance to escape or activate a perk that might help.

  • I like Wraith, and it's shameful when people cloak and hang by the hook. You can turn invisible and run quickly, go kick a gen! Then they complain the game's over too fast.

  • Oh right, they just kept making those didn't they...

  • Didn't Amanda have more movies? And she became bitter and jaded; Hoffman was only a traitorous snake.

  • I've noticed the opposite. Someone gets downed and everyone stops what they're doing and hides out near the hook for a quick save. Kindred can try and stop this but so far it's silly how long they'll crawl around the bushes waiting for the killer to stop patrolling. Do a gen!

  • Please don't be too hard on poor Claudette. Many people wanted a scary hide & seek where being found was terrifying, or perhaps death. This is the closest we have. The tense moment where the killer is looking right at you and doesn't even know it cannot be duplicated in other games. My Claudette wears a jacket, or the new outfit once i rank up in the Rift, but I understand why other Claudettes try to hide. She just wants to study bugs and plants, and escape this nightmare.

  • Yeah I did the "deplete 3 keys" challenge last night and used broken ones for this reason. It really is too short, and you have to use add-ons that extend the time (rare key is only 5 seconds, but can open locks). New add-ons would be really nice, as you suggest, as well as some tweaking to make them more usable. A lot of solo players struggle as well as want to be more like SWF, and I feel like key auras are the way to go with that, plus giving them more benefit in-game without opening up hatches that killers hate so much.

  • Broken keys let you see fellow survivors, obsession, or possibly others given add-ons. They're not just for black locks, it's neat having another option.

  • Yeah, still waiting for Hide & Seek style horror. DBD isn't it anymore, but it's a great game of a different type. Now have to learn how to loop, and hope the killer doesn't get pissed and DC when I'm just trying to survive.

  • I had Open Handed but none of the other Aura perks, is it weird to run it for teammates who may be running aura perks? Even if I don't have any equipped?

  • I get hit on the other side of walls a lot, if I run hooked around the corner. Seems like I should have been safe, but I'll have to start recording it.

  • You can still win without playing the very-best killer in the game...

  • Hawkins Lab wasn't great for survivors either.

  • Take comfort in the fact that you helped someone escape. You were a true team player, even if you weren't part of their friend group (on the assumption they had one). You risked your escape and your challenge to see someone you didn't even know escape. Would that all solo teammates were like you.

    Cheers!

  • Make healing faster, or cry out against killers running perks that make it take longer. Healthy survivors are more likely to escape than injured ones. Not everyone is top-rank looper able to run a killer for four gens. Rank is meaningless. How do you decide who should and should not run any given perk? I have more hours than many but am somehow worse. Botany Knowledge should increase SC time. Tell me it does if you like, I still don't believe it.

Medkits are currently broken anyway, you can't get more than one heal no matter what you try.

  • You still get Legions who cancel power right after a hit, even when you know you're surrounded by teammates. Keep running!

  • It's hard on console, even for survivors. Take a hit so the game hangs and run you into a wall, letting killer get second free hit. I get a lot of DC killers too, but survivors are also bad. Found first = DC for some reason, as if you can't be pulled off a hook during he first few minutes of the game. I'll come save you, don't worry! Plenty of games I'm on death hook after first few minutes only to either escape or last a while and make some great plays for team.

  • No, it gets boring fast and there are plenty of 'fun' or at least interesting builds to try. I found use out of Sole Survivor which is nice, and the new No One Left Behind is great.

Try this: Unbreakable, Tenacity, Flip-Flop, Boil Over. Anti-Hook! Requires slug life though.

Sole Survivor on Laurie pairs well with some of these, as well. Killer downs you, sees Obsession brackets. Hmm. Sees Laurie, owner of DS. HMMMM. Killer leaves you on ground and finds another.

    Laurie snickers.

  • It sucks. Chilling Escape impossible. Completed three times! tonight but as I'm at the gate the killer DC, leaving me with nothing. Screw this challenge. You know I actually ground out gens so we could all escape? If Yui had any damn keys that's all I'd do, all match. I'm so tired of being locked into this challenge. These could have been fun, but as usual, the players ruin it for everyone else. No Scavenger so I can't farm my own keys, either.

  • Chilling Escape is nonsense. Sure, most of us have done this before, but now that we need to...

I can't get this challenge done with. Sometimes, I'll get hooked during EGC and void it. Other times when I'm about to succeed the killer DC's to prevent it, and even though I 'escaped' it doesn't register as complete. I'm stuck with Spine Chill now for who knows how long just to finish this challenge and find out what happens to Claudette (does she say 'Yes?')

To my teammates during this period: I'm sorry. I normally am very sacrificial, but to tick this box off my list I'm a ghost. 3v5 for gens, but I'll make rescues when I'm certain the killer cannot get back to me.

  • He beat Predator, you didn't think he could beat this alien as well? =D

  • I've seen the new perk stop one hook so far today, and that was from myself. I don't even think other Yui players are running it. Don't worry, it's still easy enough to hook people and nobody runs four anti-hook perks in favor of auras, exhaustion, looting, etc.

  • No, that happens to me! I thought I wasn't pressing the Run button in far enough to register, but it happens all the time, and it never used to happen...

  • Then you're saying it should show everyone, right? It's an anti-camping perk. Why would it not show the most notorious campers? The entire purpose is to show the other players whether or not it is safe to come for a rescue, and if someone else is already on the way.

I heard about some changes, but in my game Kindred functions as it always has, so I assume it's coming out with the next update. Maybe when they fix the basement bug.

That was back when the only stealth Killers were Wraith and Insidious. Once they added Myers, that line of text referring to stealth abilities became outdated.

Myers should have been special then. Now it doesn't show anyone hardly, since all I see in red ranks are camping Ghost Face (and occasional Wraith). Pigs too, hunkered down nearby. What gives? Go play the game!

  • Earlier today I had no wiggle bar, so at least I wasn't stuck all match but I couldn't free myself either. I don't think it was Mad Grit as I was the only one around and he went right to the hook without swinging or hitting anyone.

  • Just fell through basement and died because I couldn't do anything. Apparently it's a known issue and I hope they're working on it.

  • Why doesn't it show stealth killers? Isn't that the point? Also, Kindred apparently didn't change for me. I still see it if people have it, but I'm not using Kindred.

  • I'm happy with how she looks, but I do know what you mean. However, I'd like to point out that for most if not all Licenses they've gotten, they can only license the character, not the actor who portrayed them. That's why all of them look similar but not quite like the people in the movies. The title holder keeps the character license and that's what they need first and foremost, especially with iconic clothing and appearances.

I'm not sure if they can THEN go to the actor/actress and contact them somehow, asking for permission to put them in the game. I'm not sure why anyone who played such roles would wish to turn it down, but I'm sure many of these older actors either don't wish to be bothered or would require hefty fees. Bruce Campbell is a recent addition and got the license directly since it's from his show Ash Vs, not from the old movies owned by the respective studios.

As far as the great JLC is concerned for the Halloween chapter, I'm not sure if she could give her likeness for any license including the most recent one, unless she was in direct ownership of the content. It would be really neat, though! I just bought her outfit and I love it to pieces. I have come up with several different builds I never would have used when playing with her and I like the different styles it allows me to try (I like to base perk archetypes on the character and their personalities) so it's really cool that she got anything to begin with, considering the license stuff wasn't supposed to have any at all. Also the Pig's outfits are all really great and you can see lots of different styles the developers went with to show them off.

  • We've had two movie Killers so far with no accompanying Survivor. Pennywise does not need one of the Losers to come with... It. In fact, the whole selling point would likely be the iconic It(self) rather than whoever comes with.

That said, I'm still miffed no Sidney Prescott. She was in all of them for crying out loud! Even the one that's apparently coming out in '21!

  • There are some good apples to be found, I'm glad you had a nice time!

  • The consoles should all play together, at least.

  • Until all gens are completed, you don't really know how much more gen progress you need for a particular emblem. I think it should be more focused on chases, so if you can often lose the killer or make them give you up, you rank up faster. That way I wouldn't be stuck in the red ranks with people doing calculus while I'm struggling with division. That's just a metaphor, although I can't do division either.

  • I actually want an optional challenge you can take by hitting a button which shows the other side your loadout, if you choose. I'm sure I'm not the only one who would use it, showing people that you aren't taking an insta-heal but a brown kit, or that you're Legion but don't have any good perks or are really low level or something. I know the spirit of the game is the unknown, and that's fun, but player to player there should be some camaraderie in that "Hey, I'm not trying to ruin anyone's fun, win or lose."

  • The fact that Ghost Face has both stealth and insta-down mechanics mean you shouldn't have been running infinites. Catch them off-guard. Use the edge of the map instead of the center, where they're watching the Killer to approach from.

For what it's worth, they're not always going to be great games. I've never seen these champion survivors who can evade like that in my games, Entity knows I sure am not one of them, but it's not always going to be easy. They also had to abuse some mechanics in order to survive, so at least you can take comfort in that.

On the subject of long loops, what do Killers think Survivors should do instead? Run into the open where they can die easily? Like I do? =/ I know you hate running in circles so I usually don't, and I'm often first to die.

I don't see the problem with the odd killers power having the ability to bypass a certain perk any more than OoO not affecting certain stealth killers.

While it is good against campers or tunneling, people often use it and abuse it to simply save a teammate when they otherwise would never have done so if they didn't have BT. Often as the killer is simply walking away or in another chase with someone else.

True, and I wish people wouldn't assume "I have BT, so therefore any death is your fault." If I take a hit as I'm unhooked, I can't always get to some safety/lose the killer before I take another, especially late game with no pallets.

Also, OoO still shows you even if it won't show a stealth killer, right? That's a dangerous situation indeed! I love the concept as a solo player but am far too afraid to use it since I'm bad at chases. Although Freddy gives me enough practice in that exact situation, I suppose...

  • Oh no I get that you want them to be more than little barriers that are easily dismantled. Perhaps they reform after a period of time, or she has a pool of five and when one is taken down she gains it back to reposition. I really want to see something like this in the game now, and it would be a thrill when one of them nearby comes to life, or strikes you when you get too close because the killer swapped at the right time.

  • I love the Killer idea, although I think without a toolbox it should take twice as long. The design and power are great, though.

  • Is that true? You only hook twice? ME TOO 😁

  • I think a good chance is if they've all had a good time and are bunched up in the exit gate. Sometimes they let you kill them before crawling out, so try it then. I still don't have it either, but I rarely play Myers.

  • I impulse-bought the new Laurie outfit with the money I had saved for a Gypsy outfit I have been sitting on. I've been playing her ever since, love it. Dwelf looks to be next, although with the release of the new Chapter that will have to wait. I have Dwighty so that's good enough (Can You Find Me?)

  • I know what you mean. Since the last flashlight change, I've 'blinded' the killer twice while picking someone up. Never once has it saved them. I never take a light when I see one, and skip them in all my bloodwebs. I don't find them to have any use over a medkit or a toolbox.

  • I did the This Can't Be Happening while injured for nothing? =O

  • That's trolling, griefing, or otherwise intentional unsportsmanlike behavior.

If that guy was innocent, it was wrong. If he was behaving badly for the match and that was his comeuppance, then I suppose it's a different story.

  • The Tina Tinkles doll.

    Don't... think about it.

  • I understand playing hard to win, but to intentionally try and disrupt the other side (either one) from completing challenges, event goals, or optional conditions is just downright unsportsmanlike. Games are not for you, perhaps try sports where there are rules and penalties to ensure everything is in fair play.

  • Well, on the bright side, it would only take one match... right? =/
