Sound bug? Like the whoosing noises you heard when she was first released?
No, this was more recent. You could occasionally hear her breathing while she was phasing, so you had an idea where she was.

Didn't it severely hurt the spirit though? Like, the survivors always knew where she was, doesn't that severely hurt spirit? I still think there is a better approach to fix this.
Nope. It wasn't on always, so you didn't know exactly where she was.

If that old bug was brought back wouldn't it really make spirit's phasing useless against any sentient survivors? It just seems like a very lazy "fix" for spirit, and I don't think anyone would like this. This would just make the spirit guess alongside the survivors more often which is not exactly fun.
It would make it so that they both know where each other are. The noise wouldn't be directional, and it wouldn't always be on.
I loved playing against her when this bug was a thing, and I liked playing her more because it felt like survivors could actually do something.

I don't think it's fair. "Killers can open it" isn't a fair argument for it since every single second is precious in the end game. It gives the survivors indefinite time to help their teammates, wait out a killers powerspike or heal and reset while still being able to instantly leave if the killer chases them.
Egc isn't a tool for the killer, so it's fine.

She have, you can ear her when she phase. When shes going for a hit if you are close to the clone you will see the clone hand move when shes close to you ( i need to test this more im not sure if its a coincidence ). And survivor need to out smart her but im staying with my original statement survivor are not use to think in a chase so they go down easy
I'm not talking about the standing still mindgame. I can read people well enough to not fall for that. I have no issues with knowing if she's phasing.
And no, you can't hear her while she's phasing unless she's far from you. The issue is the fact that you have no idea what she's doing or how she's pathing in phasewalk, but she knows exactly where you are. There is no mindgame at all in that situation. A mindgame is when both sides have limited info on the other player. In this, you have no info on Spirit while she has info on you.
And I'm definitely used to thinking in chase. I literally keep timers going on in my head to chain tiles without blocking windows. Don't think you can do that without thinking.
All they need to do to fix her is bring back the bug where you could hear her while phasing, as in her breathing. You knew where she was as well as she knew where you were, making it a true, fair, mindgame.

You can't just fix spirit that easily, she needs more than just that, if even.
But you can. It essentially makes it so that players who are paying attention know where the other player is(this applies to both sides)
It makes the counterplay to Spirit the exact same way you play her.

Obviously from your angry over reaction to this topic that it has come up many times before. So maybe it isn’t a problem… for you. For other people that may be new to the game it is a different matter. So instead of telling me to stop, maybe you should go to a safe space some place where certain topics won’t offend your delicate sensibilities.
I'm not offended, just annoyed with this specific topic. People always try to use this "logic" to nerf Stridor. You see it in most nerf Spirit posts, which there are tons of.
When I was new to the game I figured out how things stacked relatively quickly. And I joined when the game came out, so I didn't have more experienced players to teach me this either.

I mean, depends on if its a debuff or a buff tho. Seperate buffs do stack additively, but debuffs are multiplied.
Iron Will is a bit of an odd ball out, as it's not a debuff or buff to your sound, it's a change to your sound range. It's more similar to Terror Radius affecting perks and addons(Dead Rabbit, Distressing, Monitor&Abuse) than it is action affecting perks(anything involving actually pressing a button)
The biggest reason why it needs to be additive for Stridor is because of different survivors being louder/quieter than others. Adding the percentage makes it more consistent.

HAHAHA are you serious, ITS NOT ADDED. ITS MULTIPLIED, the man who made this post is right ffs! You multiply by the percent or decimal. Not the whole number you big bag of donkey doodle #########. sry lol. Stridor is simply worded wrong.
Would it be mean to call you dumb?
Everything in this game but PTS stacks additively. They add percents together to prevent situations that are hard to code, such as Stridor making injured survivors without IW 5,000% loudness.
Stridor is worded completely right once you know how the game works.

If you're walking you're not making distance. She still has the ability to prevent you from making it to a window or point of safety with her ability even without sound. I'm not saying that she'd be perfect, she may need other changes but I don't think it would be a bad change.
If you're walking, you don't need distance. She won't get the hit. Just being back the sound bug instead of nerfing her. That bug made her balanced AND fun to go against.

The first one is a buff. Blood will show her exactly where you are. That's not a guess. And making her deaf or making sounds non directional would kill her.
Just bring the sound bug back with her and she's fixed.

Just a question here then. Why is T Bagging and Flashlight clicking unsportsmanlike and toxic then. They're apart of the game too, but the community considers them toxic, when that could be a strategy to get into the killers head and make them mad, so they play bad.
They aren't unsportsmanlike conduct. Again, they're an intended part of the game.

Okay first off Camping, slugging, tunneling, etc are all forms of killings okay, toxic or not - Agreed. Then Devs ask you to display good sportsmanship. If killers are allowed to do that how is that good sportsmanship? Gamers will say use defensive strike or borrowed time, get better, etc. That is not the point killers are allowed to use un-sportmen like conduct. If this "WAS" a sport where is the sportsmanship's conduct in camping, tunneling, slugging. You get hit, get knocked down, hooked, camped, unhooked, tunneled, hit again, borrowed time, tunneled, hit again downed, defensive strike, tunneled, downed again, and re-hooked. Repeat dead. Where is the sportsman like conduct? Yeah the killer could loose the game that way. Was it thrown for just chasing one person? If a survivor chooses not to participate in that style/formate of a game they are unsportsmanlike. (?) Killers don't have to show good conduct just players? Where does the code of conduct lay? You play 5 random games, all similar in format, is that fun? To me no. We just have to wait for one decent killer out of X# of tries?
If you die after that many second chances that's just sad...
Anyways, they are a part of the game, so not unsportsmanlike conduct. Same for survivors with flashlight saves, doing gens quickly, and bodyblocking. Nothing that isn't against the rules is unsportsmanlike conduct.

It's a fun idea, definitely. I wouldn't mind that. Although, I just am personally doubtful that they would do that as it seems like a lot of hassle for them and it could mess up some things in the game when the event finishes.
True. It probably would be stuck in that version and they'd take another 5 years to get the game to where it is now 😂

I'm genuinely sorry that happened and I wish that you could get it back. That doesn't change my stance though, I think the only way to make it fair to earn would be revert it and that's not going to happen, which is unfortunate for those who lost it, but not for those who didn't earn it. I truly wish there was another way to give back legacy to those who lost it without removing its significance in the game. Which is what would occur if everyone could just earn/have it.
Reverting it would be fine by me. It could be an event called something like "Turn Back the Pendulum". Would be pretty nice. They would reset everything to the day Nurse came out, meaning everything completely broken would be in the game, the bloodweb would be pre-rework, and obviously, most of the killers wouldn't be there. The only modern thing they'd have is crossplay.
This event could last for maybe a month or so, and would give dedicated players a chance to earn legacy, and people like me to get it back.

What pressure? When each survivor does 1 totem, then there isn´t exaclty a log of pressure around. I remember some matches, where i cleansed 5 hex totems alone. Just because other survivors are unwilling to do something else than gens and running in circles, doesn´t mean that it has to go.
And please don´t tell me, that you base everything on 1 good match.
I don't, but it still gives too much pressure.

The more they gut maps like Haddonfield, the better.
Nothing good ever comes out of that map.
Nothing good came out of it every time I was sent to it.
5$ they're gonna add a breakable wall to the house in the middle to block one of the entrances. Survivor going up, dropping down and repeating the same loop 20 times? Not once we add this breakable wall ! haha !
10$ they're gonna have multiple houses of pain once they add breakable walls to Haddonfield.
Oh yeah they're def buffing that ######### for survivors. But still, it would be nice if they made it killer sided.
-
@Tsulan said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2250196#Comment_2250196
No, actually not.
There are plenty of reasons to buff Undying back to its original state (or even more).
- horrible totem spawns (right now, 3 hex perks can pop within the first minute).
- new totem tracking perks (once the DLC drops, hex perks will have even a shorter lifespan than now)
- gen speed (something needs to be done about the current gen speed. Buffing Undying would be the lesser evil. Because the alternative would be to increase gen times and no one wants that)
- increase in camping/tunnel threads since the Undying nerf (a killer who constantly switches targets to get some value out of Undying Ruin won´t have time to camp/tunnel)
None of these compensate for the insane pressure it gives. I used it on Blight once, on my first game with him, and I won easily while still experimenting with his power.

Just venting.
I hate whoever introduced them. They are nothing but pure pain.
Oh boi I can't wait to see what breakable walls they add to Haddonfield when they rework it. Same with the bloody Swamp maps
Imagine if they added walls to EVERY door and blocked off the windows in ground level. Make that map super ######### for survivors 😂

I'm not complaining too much about gen speeds, I think they're fine honestly. I just wanted other peoples opinions about these perks. Yes my original post kind of contradicts this but is it not fair to say that seeing the same 5-6 perks on survs every game can get a little boring?
That's fair. But it doesn't mean that that combo should EVER exist again.
It was so bad to the point where I was getting thanks from survivors for not using it, even though I was literally playing IF Nurse.

Not always though, for example prove thyself is multiplicative, and I'm not quite sure of how multiple action speed debuffs/buffs stack (like, thana is additive with itself, but what about thana + DL, do they add up or multiply?). The numbers are so similar in either case that it doesn't really matter
Yes, there are a few exceptions, but the majority of things stack in an additive way
-
No.
It was too broken on killers like Nurse, Billy, etc. Who don't even need a nerf. Just any high mobility killers got free pressure off of this. Ruin is insanely powerful, and having to potentially get rid of it 4 times is just too much. I get that you don't want to struggle with gen speeds, but instead of asking for broken things back, you should be focusing on getting better at the game. I don't mean to be rude by saying this either, it's just that the combo was too strong. It was the killer equivalent of DS+UB.
And yes, this is coming from a killer main.

Thanks. 😀 Whether I'm playing killer or survivor, unnecessary EGC deaths that happen because the survivor was cocky are my favorites.
Good question, I've had a bunch of jerky Dwights with flashlights in my time.
I had a recent match where I was screwing around with the survivors, and I think it was a Dwight who kept trying to blind me (futile, because I run Lightborn, but annoying when I try to look away and they keep at it, the beam is still bright). This Bill, bless his heart, put himself between me and the flashlight, blocking it, maneuvering himself to stay in front of the beam as Dwight kept trying to aim around him. It was one of the sweetest things I'd ever seen.
lol sorry, I think I spilled some warm fuzzies in your karma thread 😄
The fuzzies are fun too:)
And Bills are sweet
-
I think it took me two weeks
Can't really remember 😂
I'm guessing two weeks, but that's all it is, a guess, since I don't play on Steam anymore, and I don't remember by heart.
But I also play longer per day than most. Think maybe 7-10 hours per day. Right now, I can get a single prestige in two days. But back then it was much more bloodpoints, and BBQ wasn't out yet( I ONLY of played killer, and played almost exclusively Nurse.)
So I'll say two weeks from when I learned how to use the bloodweb.
-
Always. They literally throw the game. No, you wouldn't be able to tell, either. Them throwing is playing like most rank 1 players play. However, I've seen them actually trying, and that's basically a comp team. If I hadn't ever seen them trying, I wouldn't have known they were throwing either.

This was a good while back, but it's one of my favorites. I was playing friendly Nurse, and three of the survivors were quite nice in return, but there was this one Dwight who kept shining his flashlight at me and acting like a jerk. Well, it's EGC, the timer is almost up, and I see him running to the exit. I have this feeling in my gut that he is expecting me to hit him on his way out and propel him to freedom. So... I didn't hit him. He was an inch away from escaping when the Entity took him.
Ooh
That's a really good one!
Also why is it always the Dwights that are annoying with flashlights?

And why should it be obvious? Why should it be obvious that the percentage is calculated from original value?
Why is it then that the order of add-ons can matter? E.g. one is adding charges the other is adding percentage. Why is there the percentage not calculated from the item value, but from item+chargeaddon?
So no need to "oh my xxx xxx"...
It is common sense. The reason that the order of add-ons matters is because of addition, actually. The first addon is added to the item, and the second is added to the first addon.
I'm sorry, but I am tired of this logic. They always want to nerf Stridor, but instead of just SUGGESTING a nerf, they decide to go on a whole spiel on how it doesn't make sense. That OMFG was because of the logic that this guy used.

I feel there needs to be better rewards when people prestiging. From what I can gather the grind is a bit annoying and hard especially I'd your trying to get to P3. Currently the rewards for putting in the work is trash and not worth it. You get bloody clothes and a .0001% increase in rarity of items. And devotion literally does nothing, or at least not that I know of.
People work hard to get to p3 and high devotion, they should honestly be treated better and get better rewards. What do you think?
Yup. A common idea is one legacy cosmetic for every 3/4 devotion levels, as that requires just as much time as prestiging back in the day. Ok, well, maybe a little more time, but still.
