  • Hopefully when it gets reworked, they don't turn it into the Game map and put loads of pallets next to each other.

    This is very accurate

oh god no. I think tru3 was talking about base ruin. Which might...be decent? Idrk. I mean gens naturally regressing at their normal rate but naturally might work? Idrk personally.

If it was I don't think I'd make them regress extremely fast like Ruin does at the moment, maybe like a medium speed regression would be fine.

No because it seems they cycle back and forth between who works on new killers, based on what McLean's said in the past on stream. I have a feeling whoever worked on PTB Ghostface worked on Trickster, and I have a feeling that they won't have as much control over the next.

Almo and someone else worked on Trickster, he said it took six months with Trickster and well you saw how he turned out.

This'll be the first big event ever since they announced they'll only do 2 big events each year.

I worry, but that's only cause it's the first one, i moreso have a feeling of excitement.

...Just don't mix in Archives so heavily, please.

And that's the reason why we can't have events anymore, the archives are basically what killed them.

Idk apparent they dont look at the new chapter data until a month and a half

    https://youtu.be/pWaOyTrOLk8

Here's a summary of why I'm so angry

And this is who the lead balancer is... Marth quit the game because of this...

  • Don't forget about the bug with Spirit Fury, after it activates you can't walk forward at all and basically get stuttered in place.

I play a few matches a week, but I honestly am preferring to watch other ppl stream it at this point.

Same honestly, was playing the Twins the other day and got a perfect pounce setup up for Victor on a Nea. But got a slight frame rate drop therefore missing, and then getting the usual karate kick in the face.

  • I mean look at their Twitter, they retweet so much fan art and basically ignore the feedback that people suggest.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/239185/do-you-still-play-or-dont-play-dead-by-daylight

After 2.3k hrs I have quit playing DBD. Why?

    1. The devs making poor balance desicions

    2. Despite me being a killer main, killer is just too damn stressful, and ever since I stopped playing I've been less stressed and happier.

    3. Survivor is too brain dead easy. The killers I enjoy playing against are the problematic killers such as Spirit and Slinger, because their counterplay requires brain power and not holding Shift + W and peeking for spoonfed counterplay

    4. As easy and skillless survivor is, survivor is rewarded for playing well, while only 3% of the killer roaster is rewarded for playing well.

Only reason why I'm still here on the forums is because I wanna see the devs ######### up a game with a lot of potential

They've been doing a good job of that, but the best of that has yet to come.

  • The playtesters are the ones who play the PTB, and have to sit there bashing their heads against a wall playing clunky killers before they hit live. Remember PTB Blight? Was incredibly rough to watch

  • Windows of Opportunity has to be the most underrated perk in the game

  • Worst stealth killer for me on indoor maps will always be GhostFace, because when I'm not paying attention on gens he usually comes behind and grabs me a lot.

  • If it's not allowed in the game itself, than it needs to be dealt with. Honestly I'm gonna say this, people who abuse the J flicking with Blight and stretching their screens for advantages are just straight up bad at the game. The tryhards in this game like to abuse both of them, and therefore honestly are what ruin the game for other people.

  • You know I have a few good ideas as to what is happening in that thumbnail

DBD has a pretty low turnover rate, so the competition would be for new players, not veterans. Unfortunately, even for new players, Home Sweet Home Survive is pretty ... meh. DBD has already established itself in the corner and it'll be very hard for any other game to come in and take the reigns.

Honestly DBD wouldn't be where it's at right now thanks to all the licensed characters they have acquired. Like who knows what DBD would turn out to be if they never got Michael Myers, which is still by far the biggest steal BHVR managed to get.

How would any survivor actually escape a chase of semi-infinities were removed? It’s already extremely hard to get away from the killer as is.

What you do as survivor when being chased is basically waste the killer's time as much as possible, so that way your teammates can get all the gens done for everyone to escape. I've made it hard on Bubba's to get me because whenever I'm in chase with one, I'll just instantly drop the pallet because I know not to be greedy against Bubba since he can punish you badly for it.

  • The game needs competition, and even though some have not lived up to well Home Sweet Home Survive may have the opportunity to be competition. But the problem is people who play DBD don't want to play any other asymmetrical game, and thus therefore the community says there was never competition from so and so because simps can't be bothered to give new games a try.

Right now only to finish the rift, I'm on tier 63 so soon I won't have to play this cheese fest where nobody wants to challenge themselves, majority just wants to get carried by loser perks and get fake w's to compensate for getting bodied in any other game/irl sport.

Never see anyone running swaggy perks like small game, stake out, we'll make it, stbfl and lightborn but consistently see pipsqueaks using dh, sb, ub and bbq

We'll Make It such a great perk, as well as Windows of Opportunity but it's rare for me if I saw it when playing killer.

Oh they do but only for survivor.

I don't want to sound like a broken record but that really does seem to be the case. Moris are worthless now (they did need nerfing) but there's no key fix in sight and they won't even reduce the chances of pulling one out of a chest in the meantime. Survivor bugs are fixed sharpish but killer bugs are left in for ages. We have silent slugs still, silent survivors which I posted about but the devs don't even believe it exists but I've seen it and I know one of their own fog whisperers has seen it, Nurse still has that m2 bug going on at least 3 years now.

Then you get the maps. The Game is too killer sided so they rework it into the most survivor sided map in the game. Meanwhile haddonfield is awful and Almo pulls out his selective stats, Badham is horrendous but they've reworked the damn thing already and it's still ultra safe. They'll change maps to make them more fun for survivors but when killers have issues with a map they're told to go do one and shut up.

All the killers need nerfs to make them take more skill - fair enough I guess but on survivor side there are still plenty of god loops where you just run in a circle, safe pallets galore. There's no push to require more skill on the survivor side.

That silent survivor when they're downed is basically a feature to the game, because they didn't seem that is was to big of a problem that needed fixing so they left it in the game.

I used to play daily for hours at a time - mostly solo survivor, some swf and killer mixed in. Now I mostly just play 2SWF for hour maybe two tops a few times a week because my swf teammate still really enjoys the game, I might hop on killer to do a challenge but really have to be in the mood to keep playing. My swf teammate knows that once he finishes rift we'll need to find something else to play until next one comes out. I used to be a buy the new chapter as soon as it was released on ps4 and would buy licensed cosmetics but since last summer they've said and done quite a bit that makes me feel like they really couldn't care less about console so turned me off from playing so much and last chapter I bought was Silent Hill.

And in order to get the true 60 fps experience on console, you gotta pay $500 for the PS5 which is still a trouble to find and get.

  • @Kilmeran said:

I haven't played since November-December. I played Killer, so you can probably understand why I stopped playing. I did try Survivor multiple times, but since my Friends & Family group is in Overwatch, and none of them will touch the grind of DbD as new players (they tried a free weekend a while back and promptly walked away), I had to play Solo Survivor.

Yeah, that crap died on the vine rather quickly.

I keep an eye on the game, but the desire to do that is growing fainter and fainter. I did reinstall on Steam only to try the PTB for Twins and, more recently, Trickster, but didn't touch the live game during either of those times. Neither killer impressed me in the slightest, so after PTB the files were uninstalled again.

Watching the forums and other places, and seeing the fiasco that the Twins release was, the train wreck that launched the new U.I., the joke that is Trickster, the idiocy that became of The Game map, and more, I have yet to find a reason to reinstall the game.

Matter of fact, I'm actually finding less and less reason to even keep up with DbD info. BHVR will continue to do as BHVR does, and unless there are some serious management changes for the game, including some serious changes to the balance team, I don't have any faith left in it.

And I honestly doubt any changes will ever happen. So . . . .

BHVR will keep being the money greedy people they are, only hope for DBD to get better is for something to come along the way and rival it. Been hearing a lot of people think that Home Sweet Home: Survive is the game that could hold up well to compete with DBD, but it's gonna take a lot of dedication put into that game to make it happen.

  • @Yords said:

I still love the game and absolutely hate it at the same time. I will be playing this game for a long time, it's somehow my favorite game despite the BS that is in it.

    Good luck with that

  • @Karao_Ke said:

I've been trying to play it more often but noticed that I just don't really have the motivation anymore. As others have said, I still play it but just not nearly as much as I used to.

I have so much respect for streamers that are pretty much DBD-only because I'd definitely go insane.

The only DBD streamers I can watch are Otz and then maybe at times Bronx, but he streams so late at night it's hard for me to watch his streams. Umbra is also enjoyable, but I can tell she's focusing more on her other Twitch channel where she plays other stuff not DBD related. I wouldn't want DBD to be my main job of streaming everyday, cause yeah it feels like you're going insane with how badly the game has been getting.

  • @The_Krapper said:

I still play several times a week but I use to be on this game non stop sweating my ass off playing killer, over the last few months I've started drifting away from the game and finding better games to play that aren't broken.

    Definitely a great decision

  • @Dr_Loomis said:

I do, but I'm not enjoying it. It's been a love/hate thing since it's PS4 release for me.

I'm just finishing off this pass to 70 (something which is frustratingly tedious) then I might call it a day. I've had enough.

Same here, want to move onto other games that make me happy like Fall Guys for example. I'm not gonna be that person who bitches about the problems of the game, and then forgets about it instantly because BHVR drops the new Feng Min outfit. DBD simps for ya.

  • @GannTM said:

I still love and care for DBD and its success. It will take something pretty bad for me to quit, I just know that this game can be better than it is and I really want it to be.

I gave the game three strikes, and if it continued to leave me disappointed then I just need to move on to something else which I'm doing. It's just so irritating waiting so much of when BHVR will get their heads out of their asses, and finally learn that they need to drastically change their development team. Because hiring certain people who have no idea what they're doing, is what's gonna keep driving this game into an even bigger mess.

Pretty much this. Used to play every day and only this, but after time and again of lack of listening to the community and poor balance decisions in a lot of cases, I just find my time better spent in other games. Nothing drawing me in and keeping me here except the friends I have made, and they are happy to play other games too.

At this point I'm just sick of BHVR for how money hungry they are, and they act like they don't have enough money as it is.

  • @Marigoria said:

I still play it everyday, just not as much as I used to.

I used to do that two years ago, but that changed for me last year.

I tend to go on hiatus every couple of months, and then slowly news of some potential fix to problems makes me give the game another look. Right now the maps make me want to take a break again and nothing in this update fixes that. I can not continue to play any of the Badham maps they are horrendous, meat plant rework too. Throw in grim pantry for good measure. They're not just unbalanced but they are really, really not fun to play.

Sadly the lead balancer doesn't care for other people's fun

  • You could make the decision that I decided to do, and just stop playing the game if it will never seem to improve. Since the Halloween Event, the game has just been on a downward spiral.

  • Scott would probably be the breath of life this game needs if he was hired by BHVR, he actually knows what the balance of DBD should be.

  • @Kellie said:

I don't know what you expected from BHVR when they pushed out the new movement and HUD changes that no one asked for and everyone told them not to.

Well I don't plan on simping for them like the people who complain about the issues with the game, but yet still waste all of their money because they like outfits.

  • @Hoodied said:

WHAT DO YOU MEAN NOT ENOUGH DATA

FORUMS AND EVERY STREAMER I BLOODY KNOW SAID HE WAS HORRID AND NEEDED BUFFS TO BE ANY SORT OF VIABLE, OH MY ######### GOD

I imagine this came from our lead balancer himself, because I don't know who else would be talking about data.

  • @Voyager said:

Trapper still starts with 1 trap.

That's all you need to know - Behavior doesn't care.

  • @ShamelessPigMain said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/238530/ive-lost-all-my-hope-in-this-game

    Add a TL;DR.

The point is that BHVR has no dedicated methods of communicating with its player base. Even fog whisperers are often wrong. There's just absolutely no way that they can really tell what the community's opinion actually is, because there's no way to assess the entire community. Something like DS was inevitable, because that was just omnipresent, but not many people actually played the PTB, and not many people complained that loudly.

They've basically run out of ideas as to how make killers after seriously botching two chapters in a row.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

If they are literally looking at stats on the PTB, I agree, ######### is wrong with them.

The PTB is a feeler for how players interact with the Killer. Does it feel good or not to play/to face. Does the community hit bugs.

If you want aggregate data that is only something you can get from live testing.

And on PTB content creators can only do KYF with their viewers because of how long it takes to find just one match as killer, so I don't see why they don't use those KYF matches as evidence to see how bad a killer can be. It's the only sort of evidence they can get, because just playing normal PTB is a lot of the times against rank 20's. Rank 20's in which the game is balanced for, and not focused towards the experienced players.

  • @Brokenbones said:

Remember when there was a PTB for the HUD/UI changes and it was basically unanimously agreed that it wasn't great and it needed changing but it was forced on us anyway and it took weeks for it to be 'addressed'.

They can say they 'have no data' but for a game that has such an active social media presence across multiple different platforms (Twitch, Twitter, These forums, Reddit, Steam) you'd think that would be sufficient enough feedback

Just look at their Twitter they have lots of people telling them Trickster is weak, and giving them advice as to how to fix him. But no they care more about letting people know the new cosmetics are out, and spend most of their time retweeting fanart.

  • @Brokenbones said:

How about we just don't bother with the PTB in future then

It's clear that it's a pointless endeavour purely for hype generation and for the benefit of content creators at this point

    Very disheartening

They still will do it anyway for the hype basically, but once people see how bad the new killer is after it just turns quite a bit of people away.

  • @Negi said:

Reading that tweet somehow makes me mad. Like we already knew they didn't use any of the feedback from any of the fog whisperers who have thousands of hours of gameplay knowledge and understanding of the game or any other PTB participants, but to say "there was no good data from the PTB" when everyone was pretty much universal that Trickster sucked ass, well that person comes off as arrogant. Let's be real, we all know who he's talking about.

Hell I think anyone who actually plays this game can balance it better with their eyes closed

  • @Yords said:

I myself, an optimist, am slowly losing more and more hope as well. But this one was a big oof.

Honestly back in December is when I pondered of quitting the game, but I once again decided to give BHVR another chance to do it right. Since it was a new year and such, but then they drop the atrocity that is the Trickster. I'm not gonna bother waiting to have faith restored by them with the Fifth Year Anniversary, quiting the game is the best option right now because seriously I given them so many chances but enough is just enough...

  • @WiiFitTrainer said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/238530/ive-lost-all-my-hope-in-this-game

I'll be honest; I didn't read that wall of text. Please use paragraphs.

However, I have also lost a lot of faith in the devs. Everyone literally told them exactly what was wrong with Trickster FROM THE PTB! Hell all they had to do was visit these forums to find out.

Two very bad dlc in a row is not good. I have near 2000 hours in this game and I just don't feel like playing it right now.

Everyone literally gave them LOADS of ideas as to how Trickster could be better than he currently is, but that was just all of us wasting our time because our voice at times doesn't matter to them.

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

PTBs are only there to hype people for the next Chapter. They are basically playable teasers. You dont get any information out of PTBs, because Matchmaking is non-existent and everyone who is playing the new Killer does not really have an optimal build, because it is impossible to get enough Perks with the limited amount of BPs, even if you save as much as possible for PTBs.

The Devs said that PTBs are also an option for them to get feedback earlier so that they can start working earlier, but I doubt that. If we look at the past 3 PTBs:

    • Twins-PTB with a lot of stuff which was simply forgotten. E.g. Victor being completely helpless against Lockers, this is an oversight which should not happen. The big camping potential of Twins also seems to be nothing which the Devs were aware at all.
    • UI-Changes which nobody asked for, which were bad and the new UI is STILL not even close as good as the old UI. Considering that the Lead UI-Designer has years of experience, a little bit underwhelming, to say it nicely.
    • And finally, Trickster-PTB. I dont think that Trickster is as bad as people claim him to be, he is not strong by any means, but he is not terrible. He will be able to perform in Red Ranks (like every Killer), but he has his limits. So far I only went against 1 good Trickster (someone I know, really good Killer player) and that person won. The others lost so far.

But yeah, PTBs are only there to hype and make players exicted for the next Chapter.

I just hope people don't bother giving their feedback on the next killer, because BHVR goes by their own standards and think they know all about their game.

  • @OniWantsYourMacaroni said:

I've lost any respect for BHVR waay before that

-Console Optimization that has been talked about since March 2019 and pretty much nothing happened yet.No 60 FPS.Not even fixed the FPS drops/freezes we are still dealing with

    -Halloween and Winter """Event""" 2020

    -Binding of Kin

-The state of Blight on console

    etc.

Yeah BHVR basically wants you to spend $500 on a new console just to get that nice and juicy 60 fps, also ignoring the console community with that promised 60 fps on PS4/Xbox One will always be something they just outright ignore. Because I don't see what's so hard of telling people they can't give us 60 fps..
