Yeah its becoming more common. I had to walk backwards to a gen the other day due to a sneaky meg that kept disappearing anytime I got close.
Its more annoying on maps like hawkins because you have to focus so hard to make your way around that maze that you cant really afford to walk backwards
-
Ah yes killer mains, everything related to killer is fine and has the perfect amount of counter play - but asking someone to not try and pick up a survivor within 60 seconds of them being unhooked is too hard and too much to ask for.
Also yes Ghostface should lose his stalk, considerIng how he can stalk you while you’re fiddling with the camera for 5 minutes trying to get it to actually reveal him, not to mention how he can pop out from behind a wall and go back repeatedly so that he can get stalk on you but you cant get the full reveal on him. Your progress resets, his doesnt. Feels fair...

Where the hell is the problem with Ds and BT every trash killer main is complaing BT and DS in my eyes this perks are useless if you don't tunnel...
I say dead hard + iron will is a way bigger problem specially with good survs this perks are carrying every trash surv same on the killer side Save the best for last this perk is on all killer strong except from nurse and with 8 stacks is that just OP if you don't have something to loop or a TL wall you are just dead doesn't matter how good you are...
Agreed. DS is used when a survivor has literally no way to defend themself. Same for BT.
Dead hard just lets people that arent that good at running a killer have an extra 20-30 seconds for free depending on the enviroment.

I come from XB1, R1 survivor playing anything from solo to 4-man SWF, Rank 8 Killer. Every perk is unlocked and Level 3 on my survivor.
In all my games, solo to 4-man SWF, my build stays as Prove Thyself, DS, BT, and Bond. Prove Thyself due to gen speed nerfs (and to encourage team mates to help with gens), DS for tunneling killers, BT for camping killers, Bond for the assurance that my team is doing at least something productive. To be quite honest, I hardly see anyone using BT, and DS is still a 50/50 I find. Same with Iron Will, I see Self Care, UE, Sprint Burst, Dead Hard, Q&Q, Head On and Inner Strength more than I've been seeing Iron Will.
I wish I didn't have to run BT and DS, but here on Xbox, we run into camping and tunneling killers what seems like every other game, and really, it makes it impossible to even get a 2-man escape without those two perks. Half the time, the first guy chased is hooked within 0-3 gens, proxy camped hard, tunneled, then killed, then the next guy gets face camped when gens are finished, and then the killer more than likely has NOED for a 3rd or 4th kill. BT nor DS solves this issue either since they'll just run after that survivor for longer, it just buys us time to hopefully grab the killers attention and/or get a bit more gen progress done.
I'm just saying, if I could enjoy my time playing these games and didn't need BT/DS to actually have fun with friends, or even just enjoy the game by myself, then I wouldn't run them, but I find more often than not that my build NEEDS these perks to make the game playable. Is DS and BT disgusting with a SWF all running it? Absolutely. I'm the only one in my SWF that uses DS, but others want to follow because they can't have fun getting tunneled every game.
They dont play survivor so they dont care. Anyone with DS gets tunneled out of the game as fast as possible. Often if you dont have BT you dont get a safe unhook. Killers claim hookbombing and sometimes thats true but often its the opposite, kindred shows no survivors anywhere near the hook and yet the killer just circles around it endlessly.
DS/BT are mandatory perks if you want to have fun as a survivor. This is PC EU region.
-
The developers did little to curb it over the years and gave people the tools to be toxic. Whether thats swf with OoO tbagging all game, or killers that slug everyone and leave them on the ground to bleed out.
-
You can predict deathslinger but it doesn’t really matter. Its all on him to miss. With Spirit predicting at least offers you a chance to gain distance or escape.
On the reverse, as killer you can predict survivor movements to close distance and then they tap E to dead hard and gain it back. Dead hard is as broken as all these killers they complain about.
-
Because how else would toxic swf have fun if they removed it?
-
Ah I remember the good old days of taking Enduring and throwing a bottle on the ground to counter old DS. Good times. That was one of the best things about Clown.
-
I’m not that bothered with it. Its high risk high reward. 9 times out if 10 its going to be destroyed before it ever activates.
It only becomes problematic on the indoor maps. Thats when it becomes OP. I came across a killer using it on Midwich and that totem was never found and I searched everywhere as best as I could but its not so easy to search when a killer is roaming about instadowning everyone.
-
Never used it and never will but yeah it definitely gives advantages.
As for the settings, I use high for DBD but if I’m playing killer I NEED to use low if its a corn map, rotten fields especially. The game is unplayable if I dont. Ive never had to use low settings in other games just to be able to actually stand a chance at playing the game. Likewise I need to use a filter to brighten up the screen as well since at some point in the past year the game has become incredibly dark, to the point that dark clothing can be invisible on some maps. I an colourblind so maybe that plays into it but I think it’s ridiculous that I need to actually do this for a game, no other game has made me struggle to see like this. I’m pretty sure it’s just DBD because the dark colours often look “crushed”. Add in the broken sounds and broken scratchmarks and sometimes the game becomes more stressful than fun
-
Spirit isnt so bad I just hate all the rampant tunneling bad spirits do. They hook a survivor, walk away and then phase walk back for the tunnel. This is the go-to strategy of most Spirits.
Freddy needs to lose oblivious. He doesnt need it and he shouldnt have a free counter to borrowed time. He also shouldnt have slow down add ons, free slowdown without doing anything.
Deathslinger just needs to be deleted.
-
I’ve just started trying it recently. If you’re one of those people that likes to take Ruin and Surveillance then its probably decent as it will work with Surveillance after Ruin is gone.
Its not a bad little perk I dont think so far. Its good against solo as it makes gens regress, but obviously a 3-4 man swf will be able to communicate to stop any gens from regressing too far.
Also sometimes it comes in clutch. Like when you down a survivor and another is trying to rush a nearby gen, Pop is stronger but you need to pick up and hook first. Because that 8% kicks in as soon as the survivor is hit Ive had it stop survivors from finishing a gen in front of my face when Pop couldn’t.

I played 6 games today and 4 were on saloon, one of those with an offering. I don't mind saloon but variety is nice.
I played 5 killer games, 4 were on indoor maps.
I’d take Haddonfield over Hawkins or Midwich any day.
-
Nope. I’ve never played a game where you’re expected to go in and tryhard knowing that you’re going to lose with little to no chance of winning.
-
Its not that the other perks are always awful its just that some perks are mandatory.
As survivor you always suffer if you take off DS/BT, you basically just give killers an easy win.
As killer you’re generally going to want to go with perks to slow the game down
-
Its a breeze compared to solo survivor

Not very
-
I’d describe him more as “cheap”
-
Only 30%? Consider yourself lucky. On EU the majority of lobbies I get are 3-4man

Yeah
DS is abused
Especially during ECG
It should be changed
Yesterday 3 mans escaped because one of them had DS and unhooked 2 survs right next to the exit gate (and don't ######### tell me "you should not hook survs near exit gate" because the only other option i had was slugging but they would have escaped crawling)
But on the reverse I had looped a wraith for most of the game and I could tell it bruised h fragile ego. He didnt camp anyone else but stayed around the hook area for me, came straight back. Tried to tunnel me down instantly and I’m running away, at some point the final gen pops and of course crappy player has his NOED crutch giving him the speed boost and I get hit down again.
Guy was gunning for me a lot of the game because crappy wraiths cant stand not winning a chase easily, he tunneled me down and it went into the endgame and he fully deserved a DS.
Most killers tend to crutch a load of free hooks with NOED anyway so ya know what DS kind of balances out that endgame.
-
Generally they will fake phasing the first time. This is true for the vast majority. Its an easy trick and one worth trying first, also it lets them observe you to see how you react to Spirit.
Its hard to say because it depends what loop you’re at. Sometimes its best to walk a little bit. Dont stand absolutely still or its easy for her to phase and get the hit. Move a little bit but not so much that if she is faking you’re out of position.
Its hard to explain the best advice I can give is to play Spirit a lot and get familiar with her. I can often guess a lot of her moves but its predictions from what Im expecting her to do based on my own playtime with her. Its really hard to describe whats going through my head its just sort of like a sixth sense.

Otz/tru3 as favourites
Ayrun and people like that as least favourite
-
On some maps survivors can waste so much time just by holding W. I’m fine with bloodlust 1 but yeah I don’t think tiers 2 and especially 3 are needed.
-
Meanwhile I just had the most toxic group in a while. Just the usual, 4 flashlights, coldwind offering, object of obsession, and they grouped up to try and rush every gen as fast as possible.
These groups are the reason why moris exist
-
He’s pretty fun. The teleports really help on large maps and the shred attack lets you get hits you otherwise wouldn’t have gotten, or even just zone survivors and get them to run away from windows etc
I don’t use him that often but I use a basic build. STBFL, bbq and pop, they work well together and I like killers that work well with bbq cus bloodpoints, and then lastly I take corrupt which buys time to place a few portals around.
He probably is worth playing/maining. Not sure how he would compare against the dreaded swf deathsquads though.
-
Honestly I think the best advice is to bring DS. Not having you tunneled out within the first 2 minutes buys your team a lot of time. Borrowed Time is good too.
-
Hag and Deathslinger. You already know how that would go 😂 Hag puts 10 traps around the hook, and Deathslinger waits nearby just in case anyone dares to try and crouch past.
Or worse yet, Legion and Legion. M1: The Game
-
Its the only way to play.
-
Ideally they would address the reason why people disconnect, but no its easier to just slap on a penalty.

Id like to know what happened between late 2018/early 2019 and today because matchmaking was never as bad as it is now

"You can't expect the killer to cross the map to check the gen in the corner."
In my experience, this is the essential difference between the expectations of killers and the expectations of survivors.
To a killer, not camping means not face camping or standing around for no good reason, and not tunneling means not intentionally choosing to chase the guy that just came off the hook. Not slugging means you put the downed guy on the hook if you're not already in another chase, but if you've got something more pressing or if someone is the obsession and you're not running obsession perks it can wait as long as it takes.
To a survivor not camping means leaving the area altogether once you put someone in hook, even if you've seen other survivors in the area or you're close to the active gens and don't forget that you're obligated to check on that one gen way over there that's clearly never going to be worked. Not tunneling means the killer should actively avoid chasing anyone who has been unhooked until to they've hooked everyone else. Not slugging means pick up the downed guy immediately, or at the very least you should never go more than about 15m and nobody should be left on the ground longer than 15 seconds.
The killer sees it as a competition with the survivors, and he's trying to win. Most killers avoid the scummy tactics because it feels bad, but being a killer is about using strategy to close off the survivors' options.
The survivors see it as the killer's duty to ensure that they have fun. They expect a certain amount of time in the game, maybe a certain amount of bloodpoints or a chance to accomplish their challenges, and they absolutely should not feel frustrated (and losing is frustrating).
Or how about when a survivor has kindred, you see theres no survivors within 40m of the hook and yet deathslinger walks back and forth back and forth back and forth

Matchmaking is not bad, it's non-existent.
Devs, just implement Elo already or something like that. Game exists for how many years? No one still addressing this major issue which completely kills solo survivor experience.
Thats what Im trying to out across really. The solo survivor experience is completely dead for me.
They’ve actually ruined the game for me. I dont want to play killer only, I want the full game I paid for but one half of it is just miserable.
-
Oh please enough with the tears. These developers bend over backwards for killers and do their best to please them at the expense kf everyone else

Matchmaking has been bad in this game, it's nothing new.
It sucks just as much for the lower ranked survivors to get put up against a higher ranked killer.
It puts me with a rank 10 killer and survivors around that level.
Literally possible to win. Even though the killers bad everyone just ends up on the floor. You can run the killer for a few minutes but gens still barely move because everyone wants to hide about.
I see truetalent and others here have the same experience. Not sure if its worldwide or just the EU servers
-
Also add in those stupid Sloppy/Thana/Nurses wraith and Ghostface builds. Its so dull it hurts.
-
Camping
tunneling
slugging for the 4k
Legion
Ghostface
Deathslinger
Combined slowdown perks/add ons
NOED
Totems on indoor maps

Babykillers have literally ez mode against solo players since ages. Killers in general still get carried by bad servers the higher their ping is and ofc they are abusing it because they know they have an advantage. That's why so many people play Huntress, Deathslinger or Pyramid Head because they know the laggy hits are broken and busted af. Over 90% of matches only consist of potatoe survivors that don't know what they are actually doing or die early on the hook, even on high ranks. And almost the same amount of matches consist only of boring tunneling and camping killers that never had fun in their life. EU servers became the worst trash because literally almost every match I get a toxic sweaty tryhard russian killer that abuses the sh!t out of the game. But all the killer morons still whining here in the forums because they don't get the 4K for free instantly after the match started which is just disgusting. Everything I mention here is just the experience of thousands of hours and by actually playing the game on both sides. The double standards and hypocrisy in this community is freaking huge and it's getting worse and worse and sadly it will never change.
Agreed. Killer is so easy right now due to how watered down red ranks are. Meanwhile solo survivor is the most miserable and depressing experience I’ve ever had in a game. It doesn’t matter how well you play or how much skill you have, you lose to some shitlord who just sits around a hook as wraith. So much fun. If by some miracle you get the gens done theres NOED to take away your victory because with the average survivors these days you literally dont have time to do totems.
No skill or effort required on the part of the killers, they just need to turn up to get the winZ
I’m convinced a lot of these players sit around a hook, tunnel, and NOED their way to victory and when they come across an actual good team who knows how to play thats when they come crying to the forums about game balance.

I look back to so many games against double charge/cool down Billy and wish I had a chance to play against those players with his changes...
He will end up like Nurse. The instasaw players will ditch Billy like the 3-5 blink players ditched Nurse.
And thats fine. Theres nothing wrong with a killer being strong but there needs to be some skill to wielding that power. I dont mind losing to a good Huntress who can thread the needle on every shot and long range snipe because I know that player has a lot of skill. Likewise for Nurse shes not always the easiest to play depending on the map.
Instasaw Billy with meta perks.....basically anyone could pick that up and doninate.
Its why Im not as bothered about Spirit. I know people like to say shes easy to play but I see so many inexperienced spirits perform really badly. Its only current Billy and Doc at the moment where it seems that regardless of killer skill the killer wins, and you need true red rank survivors to have a chance of escaping.
-
Thats pretty much what they want. Good add ons that help his power. Obviously they were gutted because they were a major problem and really boosted average players to dominating with a strong killer like Hillbilly.
Its quite clear the devs want some skill to the chainsaws in the game and dont want charge time touched.

They havent really. Name one significant killer perk since Clown that killers use frequently.
Spirit Fury is easily countered so dont go saying that its "meta"
Spirit fury is meta though whether you like it or not. Discordance gets plenty of use, Corrupt intervention, thrilling tremors, even surge a bit.
What about survivors? Its still mostly 2016/2017 perks in the meta. Sprint burst, dead hard, unbreakable, DS, self-care, Borrowed time, adrenaline, urban evasion, spine chill etc
-
No more screen effects please. Its already bad enough being unable to see with some of them
-
People complain about camping because its not very fun. One person queued for ages, might have had a minute or two in the game and thats it. They’re immobilised on the hook and dont get to play. Then know that as soon as they’re unhooked the killer is waiting nearby to knock them straight back down. There’s no counterplay you can do yourself other than bringing one specific perk in the game, which just buys you small headstart on the killer. Thats it, thats the only counter.
Its not about the strategy its about the fact that it sucks and just ruins the game for a lot of people.
-
@LetsPlayTogether said:
Ah again we just generalize SWF into deaths squads. Killer bias never gets old.
Its true that 3-4man swf is pretty broken, but you never hear killers complain when they’re tunneling a solo team in under a few minutes with their most op add ons and moris

What are you on about you're acting like that's all people were complaining about in fact a lot of people were saying that the add-ons should have been changed and his base kits should have been kept normal.
Once again you completely ignore the fact that survivor mains were also questioning why this was happening.
One of the major problems of this community is when people like you automatically pull up the US vs them mentality and start saying only killer mains to do this or only survivor mains do that it destroys any discussion.
The large majority of complaints was about hillbilly needing an add-on pass to fix a broken things like instanceof' work but his base kit wasn't a problem.
No, anyone that complained about Billy was lumped into an “us vs them” category.
Some of his add ons were busted and he needed a basekit change to bring him in line with other killers.
-
Iri heads wouldnt be that bad its just the infantry belt combo thats problematic.
Either dont let iri head stack so it stays at 1, or change infantry belt to a percentage so it gives normal hatches +3 but with iri head it sounds up to just 2. Maybe 2 would be more tolerable.
Or just do the distance thing as others have suggested

Ayrun was probably the most vocal survivor main complaining on twitch and twitter about the billy nerf. so no, it wasn't just "killer mains" complaining, zubatlel is also a great survivor although hes a killer "main" i guess, who innitally meant the changes werent that bad and people were just overreacting, and then he tried them and realised they were completely overdone. nobody is against removing instasaw or crack billy which are removed.
No no there is a fuss about him not having good charge time or cooldown add ons anymore.
-
Killers swear that Basekit Billy is “the most balanced killer” yet theres so much of a fuss about his add ons. If basekit billy is perfectly balanced then by definition add ons make him OP.
So why does he need good add ons again? Unless people want him OP?

Bro, your survivor main has been showing full force the last few days. Chill.
Anytime a killer gets changed for the better the devs "cater to killers". Anytime survivors get changed it's just "needed balance!!!! >:( xD git gud rawr"
Ptb comes out, Killers complain Hillbilly is weak, survivors complain Leatherface is strong. Not shocked at all which one gets listened to and which one gets ignored.
Now they finally nerf Hillbilly and not only are they caving to killer main pressure yet again and giving them their ez mode killer back, but Peanits just said addons could change too so yay for a new version of instasaw which is what Hillbilly players want deep down.
I’m not even surprised anymore. The killer main community on here has the company wrapped around their little finger yet they act like they’re persecuted everytime they don’t get exactly what they want.
