What was the point of this post?
-
I watched my daughter play for months. Started cheering her on and learning the game.
Soon tried to play with her and was getting destroyed. I tried killer and got better and better at that. I did that for a long time, hit rank 1, then started to swf with my daughter and eventually my wife as well.
Got better and better at that. At the heart of it, we love horror and it became a game we can all play together.
-
I'm a rank 5, a bit boosted, I play with a rank1, another rank1,also a bit boosted and a rank10.
We all use different perks, I prefer DH, iron will, adrenaline and kindred, I know in a swf? I am hooked on it, it gives so much info and helps coordinating saves.
Escapes can be all 4 of us all night or we may have nights we struggle to get one out a game. Kinda depends on killers we face.
There are killers that I can't stand facing, gf , doc and pig. But if we get demolished it is because of the killer player's skill, not so much anyone killer character in general.
Killer's rank usually between 9 and 1. Some nights we get the bad mm and get newer killers, but not often with most of us in red ranks. A 12 is about as low as we see.
We don't play toxic, at least 2 of us have a weakness at looping and always seem to be found first. If you get our best looper first, it will certainly helo buy us time on gennys because she is pretty good. But we don't plan it out, its whoever is found first deals the best they can.
Biggest mistake to make against us, is to tunnel and camp, because we will pound gennys and do totems and get 3 of us out or last second save into adrenaline.
Most common mistake is probably just some looping weakness in a couple of us. Or our more experienced friends always trying to sabo a hook or flashlight save instead of doing gennys. I think they get bored and want the interaction.
I just want the escape.
-
Just a dick move, but not holding the game hostage as lycidas has pointed out.
-
Congrats my friend!
-
For me it's Fungoose. He is funny, has a great community and is educational as well.
I like otz and monto as well, cant really stand tru3 to be honest.
-
I get that. What I do if I deranked too far is play without perks or maybe just one or two.
And make sure to 3 hook everyone the best you can, you double pip a lot that way and can move up fast in ranks and soon enough you are back playing against red ranks.
Only need to hit like rank 12 or so and bam, they're back.

I’m always hidden because I’m good at the game and I always escape, killer never catches me. These other survivors are not stealthy and are always getting chased then they get salty at me because they get caught and I didn’t save them. I don’t care about saving them if I can just leave and get my points!
This attitude is exactly why people prefer to swf.

No,i would rather see the devs properly balance maps and moris so players don't feel forced to DC in order to avoid an extremely unfun match.

Had me for a bit, but damn dude, it's like a term paper.

When I'm the last survivour and I'm caught I dont even bother wiggling. Feel free to hook me. Sometimes I see Killers try to act like they'll give me the hatch. Or drop me just far enough I know they'll pick me up again. I dont play there games. Im all "Sorry bro, I'm reading the forums until I can start a new match.." Lol it doesnr effect me at all...
That's me as well. I'm not crawling to the hatch. I'll go get a snack or take a bathroom break.
If you wanted me to have the hatch you would drop me on it and walk away.
It's kinda a shame someone needs to do this to feel victorious.

Is this PC or all platforms? I just don't see these bully squads all that often on PS4.

Fungoose and Umbra are I think two of the best I've seen.
Otz and True are good but they make dumb mistakes sometimes or don't know what a perk or something does. Like you have 6k hours how do you NOT have every perk/item/add-on description memorized? (This is more True than Otz).
Monto I'm pretty sure cherry picks his games. He also plays really scummy as killer, where I've seen other killers perform better than him and play fair, which takes a lot more skill. Not saying there is something WRONG with playing scummy, just that it takes less skill at the end of the day.
Zubat is good but he also plays a bit scummy. He has a complete IDGAF attitude, which again is fine, just I see Fungoose/Umbra rarely play that scummy and do as good or better than he does.
Nothing against any of these people BTW. I watch them all. But Fungoose/Umbra I think are the most skilled killers. The fact that Fungoose can play AND explain everything a mile a minute, oh boi does that take a lot of skill in an of itself, then he goes on to consistently 4k as Freddy with no add-ons and no slowdown other than Pop. That's skill man.
I'm a fungoose fan as well. Don't forget 116 games in a row he 4ked with the plague!

You kinda do actually. If you don't, most of the time you'll get a ten page diatribe in post game about how you got owned, you were born without eyes, your cat should die in a fire, etc, etc.
If you make it a point of dropping them there, they don't have many options aside from a thanks or a quick leaving of chat.
That is fair. People can suck sometimes, we are not all like that!

I have done that in the past repeatedly however nearly every single time I didn't grab them and take them to the hatch they would insult me thinking they out smarted/skilled me even though I was derping around practicing my aim as huntress or spamming traps for more BP.
So its less ego and more making the survivors realize that yes in fact I did let you go because I wanted to so please don't get an ego.
That is terrible. I mean even if you got the hatch, I see it as the team lost, myself
Sorry you had to deal with such bs.

So in order to understand people, I have to remove my sense of individuality? Man, you must hate yourself if you honestly think that.
Also funny how you defend yourself with the term, individuality, and remove survivors individuality, by lumping them all together. Forehead.

No my friend, I'm referring to you choosing to lump all survivors into one silly description.
Your secondary comment only proves my point. You know nothing of me, and come to the conclusion, I must hate myself.

This action speaks louder than words.
I agree with you 100%.
Could also be an ego stroke, look at me, I allowed you to get away.
True empathy would be, just let the last person find the hatch, don't have to make sure the survivor knows you let them go.

Change my mind, it won't
These posts are silly stereotypes.
Many people play this game, and they are all different.
I am a long time killer main new to survivor and have a lot of empathy towards killers.
If you are going to stereotype whole groups of people based on your limited interactions with a small percentage, you may struggle understanding others and the point of view.
-
Like afk wraiths that just hide all game?
-
It's called swf, pick your poison.
-
I've learned that we seem to be concerned about the same 6 topics or so.
And constantly make new threads complaining about them.
Killers and survivors alike.
-
New song please!
-
To be honest, on numerous occasions we do complete 6 gennys, basically.
Sometimes it's a race to see who gets credit for the 5th genny. The other one at 99% when 5th one pops.
Ofcourse this depends on if killer is applying pressure, or tunneling the wrong one of us, the great looper that is.

Definitely not true.
I've faced many rank 20 killers recently because matchmaking is messed up. I've also faced a bunch of red rank killers that play like rank 20's. I'm seriously SHOCKED when the game ends and it turns out the guy was a rank 3. When they chased one survivor the entire game, applied ZERO pressure to other survivors, lost every mind game, and respected every pallet way too hard.
There are a lot of boosted players at red ranks, on both sides.
When I play against a legit red rank I can tell the difference. But the boosted ones make me think I'm against another rank 20 until that end game screen pops up.
First, I'd say, everything on these forums are opinions.
Secondly, 1 game vs you, is not a large enough sample to decide their skill level. Maybe they had a bad game, maybe they made a bad decision, sometimes I let my lady or friend play on my account and as such may not be an accurate representation of my skill and rank, same for them perhaps.
But, survivors can boost each other in ranks, what can boost a killers rank?
-
Bad killers don't hit red ranks, succesful rank killers hit red ranks.
If their tactics are unfun, then it was bad survivors that allowed them to rank up using strategies that can be countered.
But if they are consistently pipping, then their strategies and tactics are working.

How can you tell? Are you facing the same killers over and over as survivor?
Que times have certainly increased, 10 minutes, sometimes more.
Not same over and over, but often enough, so when I send a gg, they are still in previous messages from other games, where I have messaged them before.

That was in response to OPs point about killers leaving.
PS4 seems to have lost a bunch of killers.

Don't like it? Do totems.
Easy.
I have no problem with it, just don't respect it.
Won't use it as a killer.
As survivors we get 5 totems before we finish gens, or at least know what totems to check.
-
Ah ...yes the first Gg, it is a good feeling congrats.
I always send gg to the killer, because I have played so much killer, I know how rarely we are given props.
I'm always telling my survivor friends, send those ggs, it makes a world of difference to a killer some times, and may allow them to chill a bit next game.

I also believe NOED should stay in its state.
I believe it's in the middle between healthy and an unhealthy perk.
When a killer starts to learn and adapt, thus becoming a better killer and gaining his/her kills before the end game then he/she will chose a perk to replace it.
OR, the killer will forever rely on it, make it to end game and never learn a thing.
You know what's in the middle of healthy and unhealthy....sick.
It's a sick perk that rewards failure to complete your objectives.
If you rely on it for kills , you are not a great killer.
With that said, I understand OPs point that nerfing it is going to force more killers to leave the game.
But on the other side, it may force killers to work on their middle game more.

Your mistake is in assuming I care about NOED. I don't. It's a perk like any other. I break the totems when I find them while I'm out repairing generators, unhooking, or healing. If everyone did the same, NOED wouldn't be a problem any more.
Was just having a bit of fun, play what you want.
We all know the game could use a few more noed killers!

I'm not complaining about anything. I found the complaint funny.
And I do play survivor. A lot more than I play killer, in fact, and always SWF.
You main survivor and you play Noed, c'mon dude.
-
Yeah, no dude, never play this. That's like 4 gennys being worked on at once.
I'll stick with discordance.
-
Okay so a No Ones Even Dead yet killer decided he needed to slug to avoid allowing one person to escape, who also has an insta down?
Hey up to to go how you play, bro. But don't see why you come to the forums to complain that people didn't enjoy your play style.
Play some survivor and you will see why It wasn't well received.

Sometimes if you miss it late, badly, it wont register the attempt.

SWF always seems mad to me, doesnt matter if i won or lose, that bein said i think the reason is cause when we win it makes them that much saltier that their 4 man hit squad sucked and we won.
Also that being said i think you take.the salt award, you got the worst survivors 👍
Haha, thanks!
-
Ever realize all these posts always state how I killed their swf, I destroyed their friends and they all got mad.
Then every other post says how swf is op,breaks the game, nerf swf.
Which one is it?
But I digress,
The worst comment I got was that they hoped my family dies in a car crash and I stand there and have to watch it.
People take this game too seriously sometimes!

Post all you want, but there is a lack of killers out there, so this eventually happens..

NP
Main reason I don't run it is because it just doesn't jive with my playstyle which is focused around stealth. Plus I rarely feel like I need it. I do use it for my Yui, but that's because she is my OOO build and you kinda need DS if you run OOO because killers WILL tunnel you.
If you are wondering it's OOO, DS, Head On, and Off The Record. Head On allows you to make stronger locker plays with DS and OTR gives you 80s of free OOO after being pulled from a hook.
But I rarely play with Yui. Though once I got those sweet hot pants from the Rift I'ma be all over that for a bit.
Haha, I love it.
I run IW, Dh, adrenaline, kindred, I like information and I like to hide the best I can and help the team escape. This gives me a shot when injured.

Because it applies to YOU. I don't think NOED is like DS. If they are OP, you would be using them. An example OP perk would be BBQ. Double bloodpoints automatically with free aura reading. Most popular killer perk.
Interesting enough, BBQ was added because of bad killer habits and DS was changed to counter bad killer habits. Hmmm?
Not sure how me being of a different opinion is entitlement, but you having a different one is not, but ok if it makes you happy.
They are OP because both can change the outcome of the game, noed can turn 0ks into 4ks and DS has the potential to do the reverse.
The reason I dont play either is because when I became a killer, where most of my time was dedicated , it was only noob killers that used Noed, I wont change my opinion on that. Run it is one wants to, but a good noed killer is not as skilled as a good killer.
DS I don't run out of respect for my time as a killer. So often one can get hit with it and not be tunneling. A 59 second DS hit after hooking someone else is kinda BS.

No you got outplayed by falling for a perk. It's in your control to avoid it, therefore if you get hit with it you made the mistake. It's not the perk's fault.
DS adds a dynamic to the game that forces you to adjust your strategy as killer. The reason you have problems is because you don't want to adjust your strategy. You want to be able to do what you want to do without flexibility. That's not how games between opposing players work.
Your strategy should be fluid and dependent on the strategies your opponent is using. They shouldn't be so rigid that you just play through the game like a bot. Imagine using the same play every time in chess. Eventually someone would notice what you are doing and play around your strategy and then you lose. It makes no sense why you would continue to make the same moves if it's clear your opponent is playing to counter you. It's the same thing with DS. You have to change your strategy. Stop thinking you were outplayed by a perk and acknowledge that you need to just change the way you play.
And yes, you wouldn't make the same plays without it, but that's the point. You have this perk that will give you added protection (again not actual immunity) which allows you to take risks you otherwise couldn't. If you can capitalize on that, that's good play. If that means sitting on the gen and forcing the killer to grab you, then that is outplaying your opponent. If they change their strategy to account for the fact you have DS and slug you, then they outplayed you.
Also worth noting here that we are using the word strategy incorrectly. Strategy is an overall game plan. "I am going to fight for points A and B because they have the best defensive positions and the widest view of the rest of the map". Tactics are moment to moment instances of engagement. "I am going to rush point A from this direction to catch the enemy off guard then drop a smoke bomb to cover my movements as I take out the guy on the turret". Tactics feed into strategy. What we and the OP are really talking about are tactics, because your overall strategy as killer or survivor isn't going to be focused on single events or perks event. Equipping all basement perks on Bubba is a strategy, choosing to slug a survivor in the basement to chase down the rescuer for 2 survivors on basement hooks is a tactic. I know it's just semantics but I wanted to make this correction for a hot minute now LOL.
I understand the difference, I am a USMC veteran, and have used plenty of both in real life situations, but I do appreciate you taking the time to ensure we were on the same page.
You bring up valid points and I can see why someone may play a perk for a tactical advantage.
You almost have me convinced to run it now and again.
As killer I very rarly get hit with DS, but that is because of my playstyle, where I seldom "tunnel" all though we both know you don't have to be tunneling to get hit with it.
But that is what keeps the forums fun and the game discussion active. We all see things a bit differently and we get to talk to each other and understand a different pov. Thanks for the discussion!

This has been posted a couple of times. It's a god spot, the survivors can run into but it's too narrow for the killers to enter.
I don't know how they were able to clip into each other like that. Unless you hit them, and while player collision was disabled, they ran into each other. I wouldn't be surprised if they impulsively ran into it because of how safe it is, only for you to roll up to them and now you're all dead locked.
You can't get in and they don't want to come out.
Notice that totem there tho, if that's noed at end game, survivors are screwed

It's not immunity though. I really don't get why people say this. It doesn't make you invincible. You can still be slugged. You can still be mori'd. You just can be picked up or grabbed for 60 seconds. If someone has DS and does a gen in your face, slug them. If you grab them you just took the bait and got outplayed, it's really that simple.
Like if the killer has Haunted and you just rush the totem without checking to see if something like Ruin is active, you took the bait and got punished for it (or more likely someone else got punished for it). Grabbing someone with DS that wants you to grab them is no different.
But you got outplayed by a perk . Not by being mind gamed or the like..
People say it is 60 seconds of immunity, because you wouldn't make the same play without it. You would not try to do the gen in the killers face if you didn't .
Couldn't you also use the argument that if a killer tunnels you, you could loop better, teammates could take a hit, you could lose the killer, if not , you got outplayed.
-
@thesuicidefox said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1266615#Comment_1266615
I'll respect his opinion more than others but I still vehemently disagree. There are situations where you will need to do a gen but can still get tunneled. If the killer leaves the hook to bait a rescue and comes right back, and the difference between finishing the gen before the killer gets there is you getting on it with the rescuer or not, that's a big problem. Not sure what he expects survivors to do. Do nothing for 60 seconds? Purposely get into a chase to get value out of DS? It just doesn't make sense.
Again all the killer would have to do is slug this person. If they get on a gen, then they might not necessarily be in a good position to get into a locker. You don't HAVE to grab them off the gen, you can just slug.
I played several games last night as a few killers. 2k the first game with a safety pip as GF (mainly because I kinda threw the game to get my daily), and the rest were 4k's. One 3k as Clown but the person that escaped was a friend and I wasn't gonna kill them anyway (even though they insta-healed in my face LOL). Had many instances of DS, did not get DS'd once. Even when I "tunneled" someone and purposely picked them up expecting it, just got lucky and they weren't the ones that had it.
Point is that if you don't tunnel people you don't get DS'd. It was a complete non-issue to me. Even in the GF game they all had DS, I didn't tunnel anyone and never got hit with it, and had I not basically went out of my way to lean on someone I could have gotten at least a 3k, probably a 4k.
I see your point, I guess a person can go heal or help a teammate heal in that time frame.
You shouldn't be able to have 60 seconds of immunity to finish objectives and possibly give your whole team adrenaline. And if killer catches you 45 seconds later and trys to stop you, he gets hit with DS.
Seems a bit unfair there.
As for me, I'll just avoid running DS or Noed.
