what's your opinion on this? Like how many ranks have you generally climbed in a single month?

Being facetious, but c'mon, these are free BPs. There is no need to grind for them. Just play the game as much as you usually would and you'll make more BPs than you usually would. Sounds good to me.
The grind is still an issue, but they have been giving away lots more currency recently than in the past and we've seen bloodweb changes that make getting usable perk builds easier (e.g. more perks per bloodweb). The 4th anniversary event gave out a ludicrous amount of BPs too; I'm still working through my gateaux... I think they're just trying to alleviate things here and there rather than just cut bloodweb costs in half or something. I don't blame them for not wanting to go too far the other direction and rapidly max-leveling everyone. Again, still room to improve, but this change is another step in the right direction.
I think the complaint is that it's not worth it for the amount of hours you'd need to put in when you can easily get that amount prior to going up one rank (depending on the rank).

- If the killer gets a 4K but there was only 1 generator left, its actually a very close match.
Lol no it isn't. A 2K/2E is a close match.
A killer getting 4K is an easy win even if there were 1 gen left. Killer is not supposed to kill the 4 survivors.
4 Survivors escaping is an easy win also.
"A killer getting 4K is an easy win even if there were 1 gen left."
Then how did it get to 1 gen if it was so easy? A 4K does not always mean "easy". People who play killer often would know that. I play both sides fairly often and I'd say you can't just say "oh 4 survivors escaped so it was easy for the survivors" or "oh 4 survivors died so it was easy for the killer". That's not always the case and should never be judged as if that were always the case. If all 4 survivors escaped but everyone was on death hook, how is that an easy win? The killer was able to catch you. To me that sounds more like everyone went into stealth mode after they were dead on hook. I you have to go into stealth mode to finish the game and get everyone out then obviously the game got more difficult.

So maybe it gets a buff...
Wouldn´t be surprised.
To me it doesn't sound like a buff would happen to DS. Why would they buff a perk that's being used to harass the other side? They're nerfing it if anything.
-
Even though you pay for the add-ons/perks/offerings with bloodpoints, the only way to get bloodpoints is by playing so it isn't a pay to win game.

I don't think Clown will be that much better. If he can't get around the map better he'll still be where he's at.
I would not be surprised if that were the case. I don't think his power was built for map pressure and even though it wasn't finalized, the little tidbit the devs showed us during a Q&A live stream didn't seem to show any real rework of the power. I doubt he will have better map pressure after the rework and he'll stay in a similar spot.

The other day I was playing Plague to level her up and max her out at P3 Level 50 and I was chasing this Bill. This Bill, mid chase, stopped, turned to me, crouched, and started nodding. Then he walked over to a pool, pointed at it, crouched again, and nodded. I was so confused about what was going on for that entire match on wards that I literally can't describe what happened after that. Since after that the other 3 came over and started copying the Bill and like running around him as he moved. It was the most bizarre match of my life. Then the Bill and the one Feng in the match just disconnected leaving David and Yui. They just crouched and nodded over their bodies and I still don't even know what was going on in that match. I kinda just rolled with it and let them go.
-
Playing on console I literally cut the tv volume then do my own thing until the survivors get bored and do objectives. Sometimes I even turn off the tv so I don't have to watch. If they want to waste time trying to get someone who's basically left the room to be a play toy for them then they can, but that's on them cuz I'm not watching/paying attention.

The Asylum looks awesome but I really do hope The Game gets the update sooner (assuming they're not at the same time as BHVR likes to make these "Choose one" posts and then do both anyway).
The Game (especially areas in the basement is downright unplayable as a killer because you can't see anything down there. You get a dark clothed survivor just hiding in the corner, there's a decent chance they're going to get away with it unless you specifically and meticulously check every single dark area. The new map looks considerably brighter, which would be a huge plus for that map.
It's not a "Choose one" post. Those are the realms being updated period. They generally do the "Choose one" prior to showing concept art from what I notice and they TECHNICALLY didn't do one this time they just said "guess what's being updated" with no poll.

Ormond is not even close to balanced. It is still complete ######### show for killers. Some areas have massive deadzones yes, but the size of the map is still a major issue, so are the tiles that actually spawn pallets being way too strong, and it's damn near impossible to track properly on that map. Also have you even BEEN upstairs yet? The god window is even more godly than before. It's just awful.
I play both sides on a daily basis. I even play on the worst platform (switch) and I'm telling you it's more balanced. Also I said it's "More balanced" that does not mean it's balanced.

Decisive is a problem for a very long time, and its "nerf" made it even more popular.
If Decisive doesnt get addressed - I will start believing devs are truly survivor biased.
The only thing about Decisive that they've said is that they've been discussing it but there's nothing yet. They want to go after how it's used incorrectly like when survivors use it as a minute of invincibility.

It shouldnt be hard to make the perk not working while inside a Locker, I know the spaguetti-code meme but still unless is a real mess it shouldnt be THAT hard but if we look back at other supposedly easy changes like Moris were they only needed to change hook value and instead of a =1 put a =2 and it took them who knows how many months?. So its either they have their pipelane full with more important stuff to do, its not as easy as we think, they may be thinking of something else that requires aditional coding or they may have made the change internally and they are testing it before releasing or who knows.
I think they said they were going to check on some "creative" ways of using certain perks and Im sure DS+Locker is one of them.
You can actually still be mori'd off of first hook. It's more related to hook state. If a survivor gets you off hook even a second to late you can be mori'd. Me and a friend tested this.

Ward needs a rework, but yea they screwed up Ormond even worse than it was before so I shouldn't be expecting a miracle here.
Ormond's more balanced than before. I'm not going to say it's perfect because it's not, I think they went a little heavy trying to make it more balanced for killers so now it's dreaded by survivors. Disturbed Ward does need a rework and I hope along with the graphical update it's also reworked, I'm just saying that the graphical update does not equal a rework.
-
@thesuicidefox said:
Church is okay. The only thing I would change would be to remove the god window above church basement but only when basement spawns at the church. Ward needs to be fixed though. That map is awful. Really all that needs to be done is they need to shrink the map. It's just way too big. Maybe also adjust the windows of the observatory in the main building (best to add a breakable wall somewhere there). But yea the size of the map is a huge problem.
I always hate when people say stuff like this. Sure they rework parts of the map cuz the devs are LOVING their breakable walls, but the graphical update is not for the intentions of reworking. Chances are (like many other maps) the maps will ended up more unbalanced. Not all maps are like that but some are. (Autohaven I'm looking at you)
-
Yeah I've been trying to level up my Plague and this has already happened 8 times today to me. I turn away from the blinder because they did it to later and they got the save.
-
If they did any sort of experiment with swf they'd do it for a few days, but yeah if they took it for a month no one would play anymore and the game would die.

People also hate going against some weaker killers due to how their powers are. A LOT of people don't like going against Clown, Legion or Doctor even though these killers are decently underwhelming. Billy was also very strong and still can be, but people did enjoy going against him. Not only strong killers are considered annoying to go against.
Since when is Doctor underwhelming? You've met his power right?

I believe they will change the Locker+DS interaction but I doubt it will be this midchapter.
All they have to do for that is make it so it deactivates as soon as you enter a locker, plain and simple. Idk how much of the actual coding would need to be redone so Idk as far as coding goes how "plain and simple" it is, but that is something that needs to be done.

They also already said Infectious does exactly what they want it to do and it's fine. So doubt that one but it it bhvr they do lie. But real talk out of the undying combo if tinkerer is what get nerfed it just proves the devs don't play there own game, and survivors don't really know how they want the killers to play.
If they change tinkerer it's not going to have anything to do with the combo because when addressing the combo in stream they only ever mention Ruin and Undying.

I'm hoping for the following.
Blight's PoV raised.
Wraith's base kit buffed.
Trapper can carry 2 traps by default.
Twins: Add 2 mechanics. Pushing the alternate power button to deploy but not switch to Victor. If Victor is out and idle somewhere, you can call him back. Seriously the biggest issue the Twins have is that it is really hard to not be scummy while playing them.
Also I've heard that they're doing Huntress's addon pass this midchapter but I don't play her enough to have an opinion on that.
Huntress is sometime after Clown. The add-on pass is going to be way later most likely.

Most likely tomorrow we will know what's going on with midchapter. We always find out the friday before the ptb. I'm assuming ptb is tuesday.

How is an exhaustion perk toxic? You people think everything in this game is toxic, jesus.
The perk itself isn't toxic, it's how survivors choose to use it within the match that's toxic. Rarely do I see Head On used as an "Oh [BAD WORD] the killers going to open the locker!" and more like "Hey bro bring the killer over here so I can stun them and then you can do the same thing! Then we'll Decisive them later and do the same thing! HA HA THIS IS GOING TO BE GREAT!"
It's all about the use of the perk, not the perk itself
-
@OniWantsYourMacaroni said:
I seriously doubt they are that quick with a change to DS
That's a good point. I think some of us are hopeful just so we don't have to deal with the bs some survivors purposely put killers through just cuz they have the infamous DS + UB (maybe Head On on top of that). Personally I think DS should automatically deactivate if a survivor jumps in a locker. I get most killers don't fall for that anyways because they know it, but if that isn't DS being used as offensive perk instead of a defensive perk idk what is.

I'm guessing
Clown rework (at least hopefully)
Key changes
DS changes
Blight PoV changes
I'm not sure about Undying but probably.

DS nerf? In your dreams man lol. I'd wager DS never gets changed again.
They said in the last Q&A that they're talking about DS because it's being used in the wrong way (to attack and harass the killer by pairing it with perks for invincibility)
-
Nurse by far. It's so rare to face a good Nurse
-
The killer is at fault here. Bodyblocking for a few seconds wouldn't be considered reportable, but since the killer was doing it for a long time it is a reportable offense on their part. The survivor wouldn't be able to report you for working with the killer since you didn't lead the killer to them and there was nothing you could do in the situation.

I'm curious why you feel they're handicaps. I don't really see any downsides to most, although Dead Hard can get you killed sometimes.
From my experience on both sides, it feels like as soon as someone chooses to take off the listed exhaustion perks I labeled as handicaps they all of a sudden have a hard time in chases. Since they usually depend on those perks to give them a boost to extend the chase. It's not entirely true that they're handicaps for everyone but many of the survivors that I've faced multiple times that for some reason take their exhaustion perk off generally struggle more in chases after doing so since they're so used to the perk being there.
-
I don't main any killer anymore because I'm trying to get everyone up to P3 Lv50 so I guess both my mains Huntress and then Pig.
For survivor it was Adam and then David but same reason as killer, I'm trying to get everyone up to P3 Lv50.
-
Most exhaustion perks are literally handicaps or used to be toxic.
Balanced Landing, Lithe, Dead Hard, Adrenaline just feel like handicaps. (Even if Lithe and Balanced are more situational)
Head On isn't even used really to escape lockers last second, it's used on killers who weren't even going for the locker, they just wanted to stun the killer
Sprint Burst... it's basic but it's neither a second chance perk or toxic. Sprint Burst is literally the only exhaustion perk of survivors that's fine.
-
I hate both but despise Midwich less

The thing is, they've used streams in the past to tell us what perks will be next for their changes. For the past couple of perk change updates actually, none of which mentioned PGTW in stream. I never even mentioned killer changes, which have historically never been mentioned in streams.
And I'm sorry what?! "They aren't required to tell us everything that's getting changed in a patch." That is exactly what patch notes are for my dude! To tell us exactly what is getting changed in a patch!
When I said that I meant prior to the patch. When the patch releases, yes in the patch notes they're required to tell us everything that's changed.
-

What I meant was that they never mentioned it in streams as being up for a change. At the very least they put it in the patch notes.
Can't really speak for how well it was recieved though.
They don't announce everything in streams. If that's the only way something is known then we didn't know about the Ormond/Autohaven graphical update. We didn't know about the Pyramid Head changes in the last midchapter. We didn't know so many other things (those were just the first 2 that came to mind). They are not required to tell us everything that's getting changed in a patch, especially if it wasn't on their mind during the stream.
-
@chieften333 said:
They'll probably throw in another unannounced perk change. Like they did discordance and PGTW.
Still kinda mad about that, mostly because those two perks were fine as is.

@Huge_Bush said:
I agree with Mandy, I would like to see more of Demodoggy. He's not too oppressive, but can be very scary when the player controlling him is very good.
As a Killer, I would like to master Spirit or Nurse. I like to play the killer role a lot, but the stress of having to down someone asap while three others are on gens is too much for me to play it often. It is even worse when the survivors all know how to loop and keep running to the same strong structures over and over. It is even worse when you're trying to learn someone and the survivors know you're bad and switch from playing normally to bullying me and t-bag and point after every pallet stun or vault spam just to annoy me.
So now, if I play killer, I have to pick a strong killer in order to not be bullied and have a chance. I don't like using slow down perks since it sucks for me when I play solo survivor, therefore I have to play a strong killer. The problem is I just don't see it worth it to learn another killer any more. I play this game for fun and I don't want to turn it into a job and spend thousands of hours to learn Nurse.
Sorry for the essay.
It depends on the survivors you get. If you're up against hard core swf gen rushers, it's going to be much more difficult to pressure generators. When I play killer I try not to think about it and just have fun. I also remember that not every game is going to end in anyone getting killed.
-

Yes... they're included... Honestly they should be separate for context
Take Freddie for example... has %75.69 kill rate but what % are DC's and not kills that Freddie got himself?
That's what I want to know more of (cause again... I'm being selfish)
Interesting, I never realized that. It makes sense.
-
That's true, but I'm sure Otz would agree that you still need pressure in order to do well in a match. What you're suggesting involves zero generator pressure until the majority (even if not by much) of the generators are done. That doesn't make as great a strategy.
-

Those top 5 killers: Freddie, Doc, Pig, Bubba, Spirit... are the killers that people DC against the most
They only shared pick rate and kill rate
They need to share:
DC rates (and adjust the kill rates)
Perk usage... just like the top 10-20 (not all of them cause that would be insane)
I would like more but that's just me wanting all of the information (selfish I am)
You have a point and also, do the kill rates also include the dc's. The people who disconnected technically did not live, which means they died in a sense in the match.

That's most likely true, but they want to make wait times short so idk. That's just what I remember them saying at one point a few months ago.
-
It's sad every killer (except Blight) starting with Demogorgon until now is in the lowest tier.
-
@JPLongstreet said:
This is not how you win with Piggy. This kind of focusing should cost her every match if the other survs do their objectives.
Agreed. Things like this is why people consider her "low tier" because they go after the people with the traps. Pig is the one killer that you absolutely can not tunnel.
-
Trust me, survivor mains seem not to have a backbone. You could look at them and they'd say you broke 40 rules, reported, toxic piece of [BAD WORD]. Play the character in a way that works for you.
-
I think the devs said they don't want game modes because it would make wait times awful because everyone would be playing basically a different version of the game.

Doesn't the first line of your comment literally prove that they do take factors other than stats into account?
That's true, but the problem is other than Nurse, they basically stick to their stats. OoO is a great example. Everyone knows they should change OoO, but they're using their stats to prove why they have no need to. Also, they purposely gave Nurse a high skill cap.
-
That's probably it, I play on switch (generally with crossplay off) so I think people know that aiming is harder so they just take it since they know they won't be like insta dead.
