Wanna say new players probably dont come to the forums.
-
Should 100% should beable to get stunned during fatigue.
Is so silly that you can bait a head on to a free hit with it. Or a pallet at the small end of her fatigue, resulting in you just getting 1 blink tapped after it.
You had to throw the pallet otherwise blink hit, but you also get hit after the fact lol -
I personally dont see this "healing meta" at all in my matches either.
Might just be your region OP
We'll make it is something I see from time to time, but botany and self care is pretty rare. -

Yes, those are the types that ruin games. So I'm in agreement there. In fact I'm in agreement with what your saying and I must of misread.
I'll add a few points that are not pointed at you.
--
The anti-go next did not create these players, they already existed and would ruin the game in any method you give them. Why? Because it's escape without worry or not try at all.
They DC on down before there was a timeout. Leaving others to play out what they abandon.
When DCs came with consequences they then died on hook before anyone could save. Make it in time? they stand still and let the killer kill them. If the killer ignores them, they start making noise.
These are not the kinds of players this game needs. They should not be catered to. They should learn to play with others or be removed. They ruin it for others.
Queue them up together, get them out of our matches. Let them feel the pain they make us go through having to play with them.
Yea this is another thing they could have done. Put the leavers and dcers in their own que. I think this is what LoL does with low priority queing.
Honor system and what not. -

Yeah, he is easily the killer I hate most in DBD.
And it is mostly because of how bloated his kit is for a dash killer. A killer whose primary power is movement based cannot have so many things in their kit, otherwise there is very little you can actually do to stop them.
Wesker gets dash, injury on windows, passive slowdown with the infection, killer instinct when you remove the infection, and he can throw you on a random direction which no other killer can do. It is too much, way too much.
That doesn't make him impossible to beat, of course, but it makes him utterly miserable to go against, in my opinion.

LockerLurk!
It is good to see you again, friend!
Our lists are very, very different now that I'm looking at them, but that is the fun part of seeing the different perspectives on each killer.
Yea I get it we all have the ones we despise. I too dont particularly enjoy him, hes a one trick pony and very unoriginal to go against. You load in and you already know how things are going to play out pretty much there is very little "revolutionary" Weskers out there.
"Me see unhook me double dash immediately back to unhook notification, me succeed, me laugh"
Definitely in the crowd for me of too much movement too little cd.
To be clear I think the exact way of nurse as well. Shes unbalanced as hell, just because I love to see what others do with her, does not mean I think shes fair by any means.@kosaba11 said:

Yes, I enjoy the Killer role, and I want to enjoy the Survivor role as well, but that's proving to be impossible against the majority of Killers. Now, I can see where certain Killer can be fun to face - I have had fun matches against a good chunk of the Killers, but either due to the horrible balance or due to facing too many toxic players, most of the Killers do not feel fun to face most of the time.
Yea would agree with this sentiment as well. Its not so much about the specific killer but how they play.
If we got some turbo tunneling blight/kaneki I kind of just laugh. Seems to be the majority of my opponents are those two killers and how they play as well.
I dont get to face the killers I like to face, everyone just wants the path of least resistance and originality it would seem. Is what it is
edit: As an aside guess what killer I got to face my first match of the day and how they were playing?
YOU GUESSED IT!They even bmed me on the ground as well.

Fair enough, my friend.
I do think Pig is better in the PTB, but Skull Merchant really needs her nerfs reverted, because her current state is weak (though still extremely fun imho) and the design previews were terrible.
Why do you HATE weskin time!?

plague, huh. now that is spicy. is that gameplay related, or do you just enjoy the puking noises survivors make?
Plague I enjoy because I like the macro decision sometimes to make either to cleanse during or after.
Rotating around if someone is disased or not, it breaks up who can save or who shouldnt say if a survivor on the hook is diseased.
Maybe you can get away with saving when you are diseased, and keeping the disease on just two people rather than a healthy person going to the hook and getting infected.
Stuff that breaks up gameplay a bit more outside of the box like that I think is fun to play against. Also why I like going against pinhead, who and when to get the box.
Where to solve it.
Stuff like that. -

It is unfortunate we have these bad experiences, my friend.Though honestly I don't mind if killers do not meme around, but I don't like camping/tunneling/slugging either. A normal match is more than okay, ya know?
But I agree with Trapper, I think he is fun to face.
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3961894#Comment_3961894
Very interesting choices here, my friend!
I think the killers we enjoy playing as tend to be more enjoyable to play against than the others, it is interesting. And I agree completely regarding Blight, yes.
Though, I must ask: Pig / Sm being low is because they are so weak that they provide an enjoyable experience, or because it is unfair from their perspective?
From their perspective, empathy for my opponents. And it so sad they are in the states they are in. PTB included for the pig.
-
Notes
B is like indifferent, leaning either good or bad.
•Nurse only because I like to see how others play my original main.
•Meyers broken addons they all play the same
•Blight is a joke, everything wrong with dbd top tier killers. Too much movement, no cooldown.
•Pig/SM hate because its just unfair with how weak they are. -
Just to highlight the bots problem.
Remember the last 2v8?
How was the communities reaction to queing up with that crap? What makes you think 1v4 wants bots in their games as well?
Forgetting the fact that I am talking about half the team being bots in my scenario.
And yes it is a straight parallel as you are getting bots at the start of your match in both cases here (I even have screenshot proof above). Survivors played for 5 seconds, saw it was a nurse, DC'ed.
They played for like 5 whole seconds. And the rest of the game is 2 computers on my team. Thats where we are at right now in this conversation. -

Who ruined those matches? When is a match ruined? Is it when someone gets tunneled out? Why is that? How is the game supposed to go? All of you get out? Two of you get out? What happens if you didn't make the cut? Was it wasted effort? Are survivors that die wasting their time? Is it only the survivors that escape the ones to have fun?
A match is ruined when someone DCs or stops trying. It is ruined because someone in that lobby wanted to keep going and now they can't.
Couple things in here:
Who ruined those matches? When is a match ruined? Is it when someone gets tunneled out? Why is that?
Already explained what happened. Scroll up. A survivor was not "tunneled out" they stood in the killers face and wanted next, only they want next now in a different language. By not running away and just sitting on a generator to get picked 2 times in a row.
1 stood still for all of this, as well as 2 other survivors being hooked. (The one who stood still afked for all of this, thats several minutes of 2 stages on both survivors and chase with both the others)
Another match had 2 people DC at the start of the match. Thats half the team gone and replaced by computers before any progress on generators.
Ie:The 2 that remained are forced to stay in these games that are outright ruined, and not even what we signed up for.
•We didnt que in the matchmaking system to have multiple bots on our team
•We didnt que in the matchmaking system to play 2v1We dont que up with bots, otherwise this would be somewhat PVE. The game even closes the match if someone DCs in the loading screen.
We dont que up with 2 survivors, the lobby timer doesnt even start.
These matches are ruined. Keeping them open is just wasting the 2 legitimate players' time.
-Theres supposed to be 4 in a match. How is the game supposed to go? All of you get out? Two of you get out? What happens if you didn't make the cut? Was it wasted effort? Are survivors that die wasting their time? Is it only the survivors that escape the ones to have fun?
Noone said any of this. Getting out has nothing to do with anything I have said.

We've seemingly entered the same era for Survivor.
So, what's to be done about it, I wonder.
Would agree survivor has just become unbearable except for one way to specifically play it. Which in turn makes killer unbearable to play.
But killer is mindnumbing to play against soloQ because you dont even have to try anymore. People that enjoy the power fantasy dont have issues with it, generally as they dont pick the "weaker killers" to begin with.
The skill gap is so wide that this year alone, even with more and more players, you are waiting longer and longer in killer que but you can insta find a survivor match. -

There is no source. You can provide everything and they will quit the moment the match doesn't go their way. It's a mentality issue thats been rewarded for years and now has been taken away. When you take something from a spoiled child what happens? That's what's going on now.
This is an ignorant thing to say there are many sources to giving up on hook and case in point, I would get out of these matches if I could. I have absolutely 0 problem saying this. These are legitimate matches that are ended, they have been ruined. These are the matches where giving up on hook is 100% justified.
The 2 that remained are forced to stay in these games that are outright ruined, and not even what we signed up for.
•We didnt que in the matchmaking system to have multiple bots on our team
•We didnt que in the matchmaking system to play 2v1
I said it earlier in this thread:
There were multiple things that had to be done before this change was implemented.
Right off the top of my head…
AFK crows should only go for so long before someone is kicked. On the third crow you should just get kicked and have a matchmaking penalty. (Easy solution)
Multiple computer bots should just end the match (easy solution)
Vote to surrender(easy solution)
There are countless things that COULD have been done, and I cant stress this enough, they went with possibly the worst option they could have. As they are now just punishing EVERYONE, including the players who stayed.Theres 80k players on steam alone, a matchmaking ban when you have a sea of several thousand players to sift through, will not do anything without other systems in place. Every PVP game at this stage in development knows this.

I'd rather have bots and know those 2 players are staring at a timer than not have ANYTHING and those 2 players are in another match that they MIGHT decide not to ruin.
I dont want multiple bots on my team, if I wanted that, I'd run a custom match. Or play a PVE game.
Having 2 bots that you know how to outsmart and manipulate to do stupid things (as it is easy to do) is not a game.
Its one thing to have a bot as a filler, but once half your team is the computer. The match should just end.
Can still dish out punishment for stuff like this just fine, just not have wasted games with multi-bots in the lobby, holding other players hostage. -
Is this what we allow now? This is the trade off of hookacides?
You can freely play the game as long as you touch a generator, everything is fine. If you want out just stay on the generator and let the killer get a free hook/kill, a report wont do anything you touched the objective youre fine. Role play and ruin everyone elses match in a different language now.
As an aside BHVR look how common this crap is literally the next match
Your legitimate players have to sit in a match with 2 bots now. Hooray so glad hookacides are gone, what an amazing implementation -
Like look at this @BHVR (id ping your company if I could)
Youre making people sit in matches like this one 5 gens. One was tunneled out (since he didnt want to play against the twins) and this other guy on the right just afks for all of it.
The person that tunneled out, touched a gen, but he just got unhooked and went straight back to it, didnt run from the killer or anything. So my report will probably do nothing in the end.
You generalized all the actual USE for doing this instead of treating the source of problems, as there are many not just this scenario. This match is dead it shouldnt have happened, I should have a way to get out WITHOUT being penalized or having to sit there on the hook for both stages. Which I did in the end.
I can report these people but to what end? Will the report feature even work here?
One guy definetely didnt play the game as intended and just wanted out. And another guy just afk'd.
So no punishment system for them, but punish the players actually playing and staying in game.
To be clear: There is no good option here, but the one you landed on BHVR is the worst option you could have gone with.
Do 0 investigating and fixing of things and detection of matches like this, which are plenty, and instead removed a system because of bad actors. Leaving players having to sit through crap like this. -

This is typically done to cut down on conversation about a given issue being fragmented across multiple posts, centralizing that discussion in - ideally - one place. In doing this, we try to merge and close bug report threads, but still actively check these closed threads for relevant proof points we can bring back to the team to aid in their investigations.
Fun

Theres a big difference between a game going perfectly and you being stuck in a match where people are mismatched in your MMR, afking, crouch hiding and not contributing to team play.

In my experience - and I'm aware everyone's experience is different - Pig doesn't need any buffs right now. Now, I will admit I never use add-ons (I don't need them), but even without them, you can easily get decent use out of her. Now, in higher MMR range, you need to try a lot harder with her, but that should never be a measure of when a Killer needs buffs. It's when the Killer is struggling even in lower MMRs that a Killer needs buffs, and Pig does not struggle outside of pro-circles.
Her kit is built on stealth (which is pretty easy cause, from my experience, most Survivors don't pay that much attention, even at high MMR). Her reverse bear traps, and the mechanic to remove them, rely on the Survivor having good RNG - so you're either going to see Survivors go the whole match with it on, or have it on for only a minute, depending on how lucky the Survivor is (which I am not, usually).
Now, sure, maybe some of her add-ons could use some buffs, but her base kit is fine. If you're playing how she is intended to be played - stealthy and using her dash attack smartly - then Pig is pretty strong.
And yes, Hag needs a buff more than Pig, cause Hag is one of the few Killers who struggle even in low MMR. Now, I may lean towards Survivor when I play (though I prefer playing Killer, but you can't play Killer with friends, so I play Survivor more often), and while I think the Survivor experience sucks, one thing I can agree on is that Killers should be powerful to balance out the game. It's one of the issues BHVR has - they've yet to find the sweet spot for both sides. Hag falls into that small category of Killers who aren't really that good unless you go for specific builds, which often require you to pay money for licensed Killers.
I dont know why you are talking about MMR I didnt ask you anything about that.
I also did not ask you if you used addons or not or if you need them.
Her current "buffs" are dressed up as buffs as a portion of them were removed from her addons and given to her basekit.
Ie her addons lost strength and her basekit gained small buffs.
And workshop grease just straight up lost one of its conditions that barely had anything, but at least it was a benefit. So grease was even NERFED of all things.
Only revolving around ambush and crouching too.
Her slowdown. Pig is in need of help to get to that point of the game. Her ambush is simply not good enough to play around tiles, you just run away the moment you see her crouch. So you are a powerless m1 killer with a stealth gimmick that has nothing extra too it.
Every other stealth killer has something extra to their stealth whether its expose, fast vaulting, fast pallet break, loop denial through speed (Ghostface/Meyers/Wraith) something.
Pig doesnt have that. And whats worse with her, is you lose line of sight, have to crouch, make an obnoxiously loud tell if you do ambush, culminating in it not hitting anyone as they just held W away from the tile while you crouched there.
All her same issues shes had for YEARS with her ambush power, are STILL the same today. That includes the recent PTB.
Your thing about surprising survivors with stealth can only go so far in your match, and its not enough in pigs case. You quickly lose that strategy the moment the survivors recognize what killer it is. -

Honestly? Hag. She's not really weak, but she does need some milk. Pig, on the other hand, is not even remotely weak. Being bad with a Killer doesn't mean that Killer is weak. She's pretty strong, especially if you know what you're doing.
This is a serious comment? You think pig is in a great state at the moment?
You realize the majority of the changes are just trade offs from what addons used to give right? So they arent even noticable by any metric.
And you still do the same thing versus her if she crouches on a tile.
Run away and laugh.
Hag needs buffs? Not over pig by several miles she doesnt. -
Making the game 3v1 as fast as possible ignoring everyone and everything in the process.
Not telling you my role -

You are just back seat gaming at that point. And then offering nothing up in return. What ifs… and you should have… is not constructive gameplay critique. Especially when its offered one sided and then nothing in the return sense.
i'm not your dbd coach, i'm your "your video doesn't inherently disprove the OP's point even though on a surface level it might appear that way, here are some short and sweet reasons why" guy. if you fundamentally disagree with the points i stated and have no cause to give them independent thought and want to focus on how i do or don't perceive your skill level then i agree this is a complete waste of time and there's 0 reason to continue having a back and forth here.
Wheres your gameplay? Wheres "the gameplay that I see so I generally think OP is correct" Anything?
my gameplay would be trash because i'm a washed 60 FPS controller console player that's been babied by games with far superior controller settings (the only reason i have a forum account is to occasionally ######### about that one issue honestly) and a person with ever-worsening eyesight. go watch the dozens of streamers playing the game and/or tournament footage and do some spreadsheeting if you want a real quantitative analysis. otherwise your video is about as useful as anyone else's post in this thread since it's completely anecdotal. it's about as useful as someone posting a video of them getting a 4K with NOED or bloodwarden because the survivors decided to be dumb in the endgame.
If we want to delve into tournaments and what not. Sure Ill take what OP says as true. But noone here is a tournament level player. And thats not a gamemode anyone here is referring to.
We are talking standard pub matches. Everyone here, me, you, reinami, whomever is playing.
to me this is just all sounds like a cop out and it's one of the driving reasons why i hate the MMR system. it's been incredibly damaging to the overall discussion of the game…then again maybe we wouldn't be any better off with a real system given what i've seen elsewhere.
yes, you're not going to face a tournament level/highly coordinated SWF every single match. yes, people will make many mistakes in pubs, i sure as hell am far from a perfect angel of a DbD player. but just because of that, just because the environment of pub matches right now is a total grab bag of random nonsense, doesn't discredit the idea that when you do inevitably face those competent players, that yes your first chase matters a lot. because it opens up a whole can of must-dos for the survivor team and can-dos for the killer player. it fundamentally changes the pacing of the match, and the game provides few basekit ways of coming back from a bad first chase (the ones that exist? camping & tunneling) when people are playing as optimally as they can. to which i'll say once again, the team you were facing could've done a lot better and basically gave your your comeback vector on a sandy platter.
okay so I have no idea what you are pivoting to with this entire response and quite honestly I think its best if you dont have anything tangible to show what you are talking about, then maybe moving on is best for the conversation.
The whole thing about trying to include tournament level players to justify our viewpoints on this game is so far out there that it is unrealistic to include it in conversation. Noone here is a career player, noone here is debating a gamemode that has multiple restrictions in place, noone here is talking about facing 4 people that dont even have the ability to stack perks that can still beat you
Thats just not what anyone here is talking about. So I think I will leave you here as you are telling me you dont even play the game either. With whatever this whole thing is saying about 60 fps and worsening eyesight. -

You are just back seat gaming at that point. That's an interesting way to put it.
It reminds me a lot of sports fans who talk about their team after a loss:
1: They did X (example: ran the ball too much) instead of Y (passed the ball). We know they lost, so obviously what they tried didn't work. But the original decision makers (i.e. coaches/players), have to make those decisions knowing that all possibilities might fail and they are trying to choose which one has the highest potential for success.
2: In both DbD and sports we have the benefit of more information/hindsight/time to think. In this case the killer perspective, so its easier to say 'here's what the survivor should have done', because we can literally see what the killer is doing while the survivors didn't have that info.
It's like Invictus losing their win streak. I, or anyone, can sit down and see things they should have done differently in that match. But obviously they aren't a bad team.
Its pretty similar obviously I am no profressional player. But the message I sent was noone is perfect, and that applies to EVERYONE in this forum.
Did I make mistakes in my match? Sure
Did the survivors as well? Sure
Does the OP and the person disagreeing with me run flawless matches and thats the conclusions they landed on? Not likely.
There was nothing egregious. And there was general good play between both sides.
And there definetely was no massive deciding factor on the first chase for the match.
And highly unfavorable conditions for the killer in the grand scheme of things. And I provide this example, showing difinitive proof that first chase isnt this grand thing that decides the match
Only to be met with no counter example at all, and "everyone is playing wrong"
It is what it is. End of the day I won, due to macro play and not getting so bogged down because of micro mistakes or micro situations. I had a grand plan around what I was doing, and I was playing mostly into it all round. -

I'm not saying you're bad, I'm saying that you're conflating some really important stuff your opponents did to themselves with your own skill. You played well enough, but also your opponents dropped the ball near the end. Both things can be true because of how complex the game is.
And I'm not taking what OP says at face value, I've watched people way better than me & played this game too much to the point where my mind immediately says "yeah, OP's generally correct". Outside of some niche scenarios & opponent misplays, the first chase (or more accurately the early game in general) matters a lot.
You are just back seat gaming at that point. And then offering nothing up in return. What ifs… and you should have… is not constructive gameplay critique. Especially when its offered one sided and then nothing in the return sense.
Wheres your gameplay? Wheres "the gameplay that I see so I generally think OP is correct" Anything?
You cant have it both ways.
Like you want to tell me my video, first the survivors are playing wrong. Even though I disagree, which is why they had all alive and 1 gen left. And they were trying to play into several correct tiles that would waste my time. Yui esspecially all round.
But then you want to use 1 gen left and 4 alive as confirmation that I am playing wrong too.
You cant have it both ways.
Noone plays perfect, you included.
I too have watched many players who play the game better than me. Their matches dont have the Ops mindset in the slightest. And they make mistakes, or what I think mistakes are as well.
If we want to delve into tournaments and what not. Sure Ill take what OP says as true. But noone here is a tournament level player. And thats not a gamemode anyone here is referring to.
We are talking standard pub matches. Everyone here, me, you, reinami, whomever is playing. -

Just let them W Key until they get hardstuck with Nurse, Blight, Kaneki, Wesker, and Billy every round. If they want to play that way, they deserve to be facing Killers that can handle it.As for Pig, with these changes? She's a genuinely solid low tier pick. She's fine. Let her be OK in her niche, with average players and average teams. If Myers and Ghostface and Doctor and Legion and Hag and Clown aren't a problem, then she surely isn't that offensive…
This isnt true at all though.
Top 5 that arent hit by w key?
Range killers arent. And they arent top 5

Executioner is not
Clown you cant
Chucky you cant, and his dash actually has the speed and distance
What are you talking about when you say?Every single Killer that isn't the top 5 is hit by W Keying.

If the survivors were so bad why was noone dead and they had me on the ropes pretty much?
because you didn't really commit to many chases (some were sort of understandable like not chasing the sprint burst user on Eyrie so you could go get corrupt purge) and one of the few you did, you missed a purge you could've easily hit. you had no pressure (outside of your power) for so, so long.
if they didn't decide to cleanse so much, giving you so much free corrupt purge and wasting their own time (especially when it was down to 1 gen) there was a good chance you lose there. that's not an example of proactive, "the first chase doesn't matter" good gameplay. that's just an example of a team playing poorly against plague. which i guess if that's the bar we're setting for with the first chase debate then yeah, sure. it's possible to come back from a really bad early-mid game when your opponents screw up colossally. which i concede is fairly likely given how useless MMR is, how ######### up map balance is, and the overall state of sub 4 man queue survivor balance is.
and yeah, my mind is pretty much made up already. i don't have anything more to say on the topic that i haven't already said. your single match doesn't really counter OOP's point at all…if anything i think if you would've actually had a good chase in the beginning you wouldn't have ended up in a 1 gen 4 alive situation.
Okay so now Im bad I guess everyone is bad here nice to know.
Youll take what OP says face value, no proof, no matches provided, ever from them actually.
You will inconsistently pick apart matches that are provided as proof against your beliefs though.
All good though thank you! -

The third part was "you're not facing particularly good survivors". Which you weren't. You had people giving you corrupt purge for free constantly instead of simply not cleansing when you only had 3 hook states just for them to get infected shortly after anyway. They choked. Horribly. Your "conditional M2 power" was up constantly when against a competent team it shouldn't have been. That's not normal (or at least, in a good MMR system that shouldn't be). That's just bad players being matched against a good player with a more favorable setup (and yes it's more favorable despite being Eyrie since C Purge works at a lot of Eyrie tiles & the annoying downside of not being able to hear survivors because of the sand is reduced due to infection, the vision thing goes both ways).
And yes, the CI spawn was luck. There's a huge difference between getting the CI spawn you did and getting a double cubby spawn on Groaning Storehouse. One provides a lot more risk for survivors to get gen progress in early, while the other does nothing but force survivors to the side of the map that's way safer and causes the last gens to be really spread out anyway (which means you will more than likely lose hard if you don't start playing nasty).
If you want me to go in and analyze every single decision & every single chase then I'm going to have to decline because I'm not a goddamn DbD coach. Send it to Hens or something.
I mean you are just dismissing the post now. You are just saying "survivors you are facing are bad"
None of them were bad, Yui played pretty much perfectly.
Again, I feel like you want to just dismiss anything I post rather that acknowledge anything. Mind is made up before I even posted anything, even when the OP posts no proof but I do.
Your arguments on them "being bad" just dont track.
I had 3 hook states and there was 1 gen left.
If the survivors were so bad why was noone dead and they had me on the ropes pretty much?
Inconsistent it seems.
Good luck to you! -

I feel I addressed the relevant part of the match (the first few minutes with no downs) exactly how I needed to despite the snark. But you're right, I should've listened to Siegward of Catarina and I should've waited until I was in a better mood. I apologize once again.
Plague is one of the few killers that can get away with not caring about the first chase too much because of her infection mechanic (especially with the extended duration on objects add-on, and with the threat of the free corrupt purge pools from apple). You also got an absurdly lucky Corrupt Intervention spawn that match that made it particularly difficult for the survivors to do the high priority gens on the map (the middle ones, since one was blocked and the other is within clear view of the other) while also having the others be easy to patrol, making the team fearful of being aggressive with the gens that were available to do. That is not indicative of the average experience of killers who don't have that passive injury playstyle, or even indicative of every map with every possible CI spawn (assuming every killer is even running CI), which is where the first chase matters a lot.
I mean this is just incorrect on many levels.
You are still selectively ignoring most of the match. And saying that I only got away with things
"because plague"
"because lucky CI"Plague is one of the few killers that can get away with not caring about the first chase too much because of her infection mechanic
You have this is reverse, there are very few killers that have to worry about the first chase.
Pig is one, you can fill in and I will correct you as you think otherwise. Her entire trap power/slowdown revolves around getting traps on before gens are completed.
Dredge is another. You need injuries so you can get nightfall to snowball.
edit: Add nemesis to this as well. Need to tier up fast with tentacle. (Which is not the same as tiering up fast as meyers)
Having a quick first chase is good regardless of killer, but there is no specific massive killer list reliant on it. Not even the weakest killers in the game play like this
I guess you could add SM to that list, but just because of the state shes in.
So 4 killers really lean heavily on a quick first chase for their control over a match. Out of 40You also got an absurdly lucky Corrupt Intervention spawn that match that made it particularly difficult for the survivors to do the high priority gens on the map (the middle ones, since one was blocked and the other is within clear view of the other) while also having the others be easy to patrol, making the team fearful of being aggressive with the gens that were available to do.
I have no control over what CI does in my matches. As well as other killers who run the, extremely high pick rate, perk. So I am pretty sure its not JUST me who gets this kind of treatment.
CI is a tool for this as well. I push the survivors into waiting on safe outside generators or they can risk coming in close. Thats the whole point of the perk.
Its not "luck"
This is what CI does.
Look at the match again though. You need to acknowledge who really has the favor on this match.
1) Eyrie of crows
2) No movement killer
3) Conditional m2 power killer
4) Easily pre-ran/spotted killer (why I got 0 value from tinkerer)
5) 3 hook stages 1 gen to go, 4 survivors alive
And then I chose not to tunnel, not to camp. And still won 3k.
The first 3 I listed here, is pretty much just game over in most cases. But I didnt play into chasing people I shouldnt. Yui in particular knew EXACTLY what she was doing, but I was not falling for it. (Macro play)You cant chalk that up to "Well you used plague and CI" and then subsequently ignore all of the match.
What would really help threads like this is the people who think otherwise. Post something tangible like I have. Rather than speculation and hypotheticals. And we can pick apart why they believe what they are saying is true. Rather than all this guesswork. -

she has more basekit slowdown than any other killer. she shouldn't have uncounterable basekit anti-loop too. ambush was already decent in the hands of a good pig player.
I mean this comment sort of highlights what im talking about.
First off stop it, it wouldnt be "uncounterable" it would just solve the problem the power having a counterplay of
"Gee golly willickers scoob, lets run away I heard a roar"
Second: Her slowdown is only powerful if she can →
Down someone.
Which if you are any decent at this game. Ambush sure is not going to accomplish that, so you are relying so heavily on stealth and m1ing that you are wondering why the power even exists in the first place. (my whole thing on faking)And that is WITH addons. Ambush is completely useless without grease or last will.
If you dont have grease or last will, you're not hitting ambush. Unless the survivors are brand new to the game/dont know what pigs roar/crouching means.
Other killers that have stealth and m1?
They have expose, they have traversal, they have tools to help them seal off vaults. Pig does not.@Brokenbones said:
What's wrong with Survivors having some agency/options against part of a Killer's power? The margin for error has been reduced with the speed buffs as well I think?
Not every form of counterplay should come down to guessing or predropping surely.
The power still has the same issues as far as the PTB is concerned. Nothing changed, same counterplay.
hear roar see crouch at loop = run away = horray pig nice m2 there buddy, missed me by about 20 feet. -

i'm in a generally pissy mood right now that has nothing to do with you so forgive my snark but…
you got a lucky corrupt spawn against a team that simply just wasn't good against the one killer that can afford to run around doing nothing but threatening with space due to her passive injuring (which they seemed deathly afraid of for awhile). wow, such macro that's universally applicable to every killer in the game, such skill. definitely completely invalidates the point of the OP, yep.
Seems like maybe if you are not able to respond without being snarky then maybe you shouldnt respond at all.
You managed to not acknowledge anything about the match but rather just be rude in posting.
You can try again to respond to what was said or keep the rude comments to yourself
Hope this helps! -
Nah, not really.

Feel like this is thinking about the entire match in a very micro and vacuum way.
Gotta think more big picture and macro than just the immediate first chase or "first 2-3 gens"
More often than not early 2-3 gens is a sign that survivors did the safe ones on the outside, and now they are ruined for macro. Unless you let them do a mid gen or two early than thats the killers fault, theyd be in your face.
Feel like this is a classic example of how people think you have to tunnel, as they never developed or explored any macro game. This match I didnt even get a down until 5:00 (match started at 1:15)
And I only had 3 hooks with 1 gen to go, and they all had progress. 4 survivors alive.
Still won 3k. No tunneling, no camping, easy to spot killer, no movement killer, conditional power, brought to earie of crows…
Gotta think macro not just what is immediately happening in the first few minutes. First few minutes doesnt decide the match by any measure.
Disease on objects only too love that addon ♥ vommy mommy -
After playing the event mode I can say yea, they had about 40 different things they had to do before implementing this system.

Otz's Hardcore Survivor challenge is one of the most disgusting things in the DBD content creator sphere. A group of players that literally play for a living create smurf accounts to bully a bunch of baby killers, then upload it as "content" for all the world to see. It's the single reason why I refuse to watch any of their content.
I wouldnt say disgusting, but more like, misleading.
Not establishing that little disclaimer or fact before they post something like that is a bit disingenuous of them.
I think though with how MMR doesnt work sometimes that it ultimately doesnt matter with how many matches they play. They will play against the same people that everyone else plays against. -
Good for you;
That doesnt make it less true that its not fun to go against. -

or understanding safe areas versus certain Killers.
What is safe against Myers isn't safe against Nurse.
Oh yeah I definitely could go down the killer list and use specific things you have to do or dont for each of them, there is 100% so much you have to learn for each specific killer that doesnt translate to the next one.
There's a lot to teach a new survivor.. Saying that new players just need to know how to watch some videos and they'll be fine is, once again in my opinion, a gross generalization and one of the reasons why the new player experience is one of the worst in gaming.
And I would agree with this earlier. When I started DBD I felt you had more of the horror aspect still in the game and less of the "Fortnite" the game has now really turned into.
So for the people starting out now they have it way worse than I did and it's kind of a turn off. The game has really gone in a sour direction but thats for a diff convo. -
W mods.

A lot of Killers are quite simple mechanically as well, so I don't think there's some massive gulf.
As usual, the difference really is just knowledge. As a Survivor, you need to have knowledge of all Killers and we have, what, 35 or so now? That's a HUGE amount of knowledge to need to learn and you really have no control over when or how you learn it.
As a Killer, you can choose to play as many or as few Killers as you like. Every Survivor is the same and has the same basic abilities. Learning perks will definitely be a pain, but that's also true of Survivor.
Yea I would think that there is definitely a lot of overlap with killer power usage, versus their counter-play can get a bit excessive/non-obvious for newer players.
It doesnt just apply in chase but applies to like "Things you dont do versus X killer"
Like being overly altruistic on hook saves when Oni's power for instance.
Or meyers and his addons.
List goes on its more than 3 or 4 counter plays though -
I mean surely they can implement something for the nurse and spirit thing I have seen. They cant AOE attack anyone so if it registers a hit faster than what is allowed by the game on multiple different survivors
Obviously this is just for the machine gun cheat that we see but there are others they could tailor to specific common cheats to immediately make them not a thing anymore. -
Just an unfortunately small map really OP in both cases.
But then again even big maps, many killers can be in someone's face in that time frame.
Eg: Blight, Kaneki, Billy, Dracula, Lich, Nurse…. -

Whether I use a translator or an assistant to help word my responses, the core ideas are entirely mine and stay the same. I choose to present my points clearly and with structure so people like you don't just focus on how something is said instead of what is being said. Just because you don’t like the wording doesn’t make the argument any less valid. If you have a real counterpoint, address what I said — not how I said it. Otherwise, you clearly have nothing solid to respond with.
Last response as I have went back and it seems this account is just copy and pasting AI responses as well as it being dismissive and assumptive. Id rather not argue with a AI copy and paste.
This response is mostly to make the community managers aware that they need to implement detection programs for stuff like this on their forums, mostly AI stuff.
Open discussion is fine, the whole point of this forum. But if you are just going to post AI generated responses at every whim then you are not interested in general discussion, personal discussion or being self critical, or anything really in a community sense. You are just trying to outsmart people with a chat bot.
If you are heavily leaning on AI to speak for you then maybe what you are saying doesnt really have much justification to begin with?@Sjady said:

I don't even bother replying anymore, honestly. No matter how much we argue, you always have an answer for everything, and you're clearly more interested in an ego battle than actually trying to find solutions to the problem. For you, everything is perfect in the game, nothing's wrong, it's all wonderful and everything works flawlessly!
Again dismissive, assumptive, and not what someone said.
At least this wasnt generated as far as I can tell. -
Edit: "—"
And the language of these responses.
I know where these comments are being inputed and copied from. Make sure we are responding with actual keyboards than AI. -
I think it is a positive change for the game, but I think the priority of this change was misplaced.
Other things needed to change before something like this was implemented. -

Go play killer seriously before talking nonsense. Then again, judging by your profile picture, I’m guessing the only killers you’ve ever touched are meta slaves like Nurse, Ghoul, and Springtrap—so yeah, that explains a lot…
Theres no need for ad hominem attacks towards other users.
If you want to personally investigate users on the website here, you can look at posts I made not that long ago on here with Plague and Pig matches.
Lets keep this discussion about the topic rather than attacking people saying "nonsense…" "judging by your…" "meta slaves…"
Hope this helps! -
Title is something that applies to people who probably adopted the playstyle early on. Moved their MMR too high, and now struggle and have no tools or skillset outside of tunnel one person out as quickly as possible.
Definitely not true in the general sense though. Have hours of footage proving it false. From me, and many others.
After the title though, the reasoning the OP gave I dont really agree with and it seems like an odd way to correlate things. -

Yes, I find killer mind numbing easy and survivor is near impossible which is very stupid, balance-wise. Why is killer, the person that plays alone, not a skillful role?
Why do you need more proof? There are plenty of killers that post their winstreaks and boast about it. Survivor? Not so much. People are too scared to try it because skill simply means nothing for survivors.
Would agree its hard to compare the two as you are playing very different games.
Killer is just easier. Easier to approach, easier to progress, easier at the high level.
The game wouldnt happen if this was not the case.
The only issue arises is the magnitude of this ease, as some killers and some addons are just out there.
Survivor though, you have some of that progression, but you are "held hostage" in the win/lose sense by other people, not so much your personal skill. So it being easy or hard is based on chance.
Unless you are in a coordinated and competitive group, which makes up less than 1% of the player base on survivor. -
@mecca said:
It should be evident by now that it is not intended to play survivor solo. In fact, I would say 4 man SWF is the only way. They neglect, continue nerfing, and enforcing punishments, rules, and adding more and more unfun play styles to pigeon hole you to basically avoid survivor at all costs unless you play with friends and even then they are likely to leave you to play by yourself.
Yup.
Solo survivor is a game of hopes
Hope the killer is extremely bad in order for a match to last any duration.
Hope your teammates arent bad.
Need a ping system/communication tool, lobby loadout….
Basic coordination systems in a team based PVP game, before we start punishing crap like the OP and many others deal with. -
Lack of skill.
Unable to approach a macro mindset. Focusing on the 3 losses they have across 12+ games they dominate every day. -

Because apparently this is all the community ever wants to play anymore. It makes me sad, but that's that…
Yea its kind of a joke. Has to have some form of movement for some silly reason. Been that way since chucky.
This guy even has a ranged attack and he gets full ms and map wide traversal as well.
Very odd indeed. -

Not really, they used one single match to degrade the genrushing complaints, so I did the same for all of his complaints as well.
@crogers271 is actually correct here you are missing the point of the argument, drawing a false equivalence, and it was 2 videos of gameplay footage, not a single match.
You posted no footage unfortunately. So you did not do "the same" in any capacity.
So I will just stick with your false equivalence for a response:There’s a big gap between:
Me:- “Here’s a match under extremely unfavorable conditions where I didn’t tunnel and still did well, it directly challenges the claim that tunneling is mandatory.”
vs.
You:- “Well I’ve beaten X killer before too, so your complaints must not matter.”
One is presenting real evidence to analyze. The other is just trying to cancel it out with vague anecdotes and deflection.
If you want to challenge the gameplay I posted, do it with your own footage under similar conditions, not just hypotheticals. Otherwise, this isn’t an honest debate, it’s just more of the same responses already given to me.
