It is literally the most healthiest way to leave when you aren't having a good time with the game.
I don't think the devs for this game are aware/or see that and probably nor does 50% or 80% of the players that play this game.
"If the game is not fun, then why bother?" Such common sense!
It's either "most healthy" or healthiest. Not "most healthiest".

From my survivor play in solo queue, at rank 4 killers were getting 2 or more kills. It seems like there may not be a need for bloodlust. Killers are doing just fine. If they want 4 kills per game then they may have a problem with it.
-
So my guess is that BHVR has plans to make other changes BUT NEEDS to remove bloodlust in order to have the other changes balanced. Having the killer progressively get faster makes it hard to enact other changes that may be static. I have heard other streamers and people talking about how bloodlust makes it difficult to make other changes.
Just a thought...
-
Part of the problem with that situation is if the killer is proxi-camping or Yo-yo camping. They move just out of the terror radius of the survivor wait a few seconds, then come straight back. Sometimes it's hard to time the saves if the killer is employing these strategies.
I would suggest running Kindred.

The next killer in DBD will be called "Latency"

To make it even more precisely: they want to make the game more attractive for new players who will pay a little bit here and there and then leave eventually. They don't care about the longterm playerbase. Became pretty obvious with the current event.
I hope they will realize that this kind of mindset will end the game sooner or later.
The only thing that BHVR reacts to are loss of revenue and loss of players. Any suggestion that does not affect one of those 2 things is down on the priority list.

Someone explain why allowing survivors to skip what should be the most difficult part of the game with a key is fine? Someone explain why iribelt is fine. Someone explain why DS Unbreakable is fine. Someone explain why spirit is fine or why object is fine. The answer is that none of them are. All these things INCLUDING moris, are ######### and awful. Yet for some reason the priority ends on nerfing discordance. Welcome to DBD, we all hate it here and nothing makes sense.
My experience is that I see a ton more mori kills than key escapes. I have 2.2k hours (survivor) in the game. Does anyone else see it the same way? I have not seen a statistic on # mori kills vs key escapes. I would love to know that.

Dunno bout swf, but in solo the match could turn at the drop of a hat and having as many gens done before the event horizon of "Evrabuddy is dyin" is the difference between a few escapes or a wipe.
I would also add the point that with survivor stealth being all but dead because of all the killer aura reading perks and add-ons, there is no incentive to take the extra time to stealthily move around the map.

Can we as the community agree that we should stop having 4Man Bullying Sweat Squads like these?
Like okay I 4Ked them but I had sweat super hard using my Main Killer Blight and had a generally unfun time with 3 OoO and a ton of second chances while Tbagging at every pallet.
Like I'm generally concerned for newer or lower ranks Killers who would be inevitably matched against these guys. With a matchmaking system on the Horizon, I would always face SWFs like these? No, Thank you.
If the game had lobbies such as casual and sweaty (which I am not suggesting), then players could self sort to their play style. Killers never know what types of survivors they will encounter and vice versa.

Legion is the most annoying killer to versus. I can't get out of that game fast enough.

It´s not about the hooking, it´s about the survs wanting to kill themself IF the killer plays scummy. If he doesn´t play scummy the survs wouldn´t want to kill themselfs
You must be relatively new to DBD. As someone who has 2k survivor hours logged in the game, let me give you some advice. There is no scummy killer play. There is only strategy. Killers can do whatever they want and survivors have counters for those strategies. If you don't counter a killer's strategy, then they will win. There are no bad manners etc... These are just gripes from aggrieved individuals who want to impose rules on the game that don't exist.
Example: If a killer camps, then gen rush and 3 get out.
-
I like that suggestion as well! Great comment.
-
The problem that needs to be fixed is that survivors get taken out of the game with less than 2 hooks and get very few points. There is no upside to playing against a mori. If they had more secret offerings for killer that weren't a mori, it wouldn't be so easy to determine that a mori is being played.
I would support ONLY showing the survivors the offerings that they are using and not showing the killer offering. The killer sees no offerings.

Alright so after thinking about how when I bring up a killer that if the survivor plays good can beat in a 1v1 I'm always told it's a a 4v1 game. Here are the flaws.
Solo:
Ok so if some killers should only remain 4v1 countered like slinger or PH the average solo team would be losing. Solo is very unorganized how exactly is this fair?
Solo is notoriously weak/bad team wise and yet at the very least your own skills mean nothing in chase against some killers in chase. These leads to people wanting to play swf which when played optimally brings me to my next point.
Complaining:
If survivors play swf in a way that is optimal like splitting on gens killers will complain about gen speeds going fast. Which is fair they are pretty fast. My point being that these 4v1 killers have no real 1v1 counterplay so survivors are left to split the gen pressure.
Now survivors are moaned at for "gen rushing" or making the game too quick for killers. This leads me to my last point.
This or that:
It's either we play solo and struggle against these 4v1 killers or play in an optimal swf and moaned at for splitting on gens. Pick one these 4v1 killers encourage swf because swf is the best way to beat them rather than an unreliable solo team. Thats undeniable.
Anyways that's my thoughts stay hydrated.
Bravo! Very well said and spot on!

yet they powered the exit gates. the last two survivors. i down one by an exit gate and begin to go for the other. the others already sitting on hatch. the guy i downed dc's and the other guy gets a free escape by abusing game mechanics, which completely negated all the effort i put into getting the achievement.
like cmon. all gens got done, and i still managed to get iridecent gatekeeper, and chaser. if that doesn't put into perspective how long i played out that match to try and get the adept idk what does.
Survivors have it bad as well. Example: when a survivor DCs immediately at the start of a game and the rest of the match is a 3v1.

Ok that doesnt represent all survivors. When you generalize survivors you continue the circle of hatred. This childish mindset of us vs them needs to stop. Some of the killers are abusing the DS bug currently. Survivors who were caught in the hill were hooked I think I even seen a post of a killer refusing to help. Even after all that I wont generalize killer mains because there are good ones.
It was never brief how long have you been playing? Enduring always worked against DS until that one patch but I was on break then. Also when it did survivors could not get away. I remember seeing a clip of tru3tal3nt getting hit by DS and still managing to down the guy as he was vaulting to escape with enduring.
Back to my main point stop being childish and looking at one person to represent a group.

The list goes on. The only exceptions to this are hearing her vacuum if you are a certain distance outside of her terror radius (zero help in loops, btw), the perk Spine Chill and sometimes, on very rare occasions, being able to hear her footsteps.
However, she can just throw on Stridor with good audio settings and know exactly where you are at all times, because she can literally pinpoint your breathing. Fair and balanced gameplay. And that's without mentioning the fact that she can just stand still and get a free hit. That is huge. And it most certainly isn't a "lame argument."
By the way, I love Spirit. I just hate her flaws. She needs to give some info to the survivors she's chasing.

well
i mean DBD's survivor is a team game.
if you got 4 potatoes teammate in LOL you lose.
Same to dbd.
futhermore you don't need to escape to get pip.
so even you been killed by your teammate oftenly.
with the time pass you would still rank up to match with not potatoes teammate.
killer should not been punish because your team is suck.
BGBomb...Here is the real reason...Dead by daylight is a BUSINESS that BHVR makes money from. They only make money when there is a large number of people playing the game, buying the DLC and cosmetics. Since there are 4 survivors for every 1 killer to play the game, survivors are more important to the long term survival of the game than the 1 killer.
The hatch = hope. All 4 survivors know that regardless of the fate of the other 3 survivors, there is always the hope that the last survivor can escape through that hatch. Without that hope, the survivors would have a more negative opinion of the gameplay.
Your thoughts about what the game should be (team game, lore and other examples) that support removing the hatch may have merit BUT the reality is that the hatch is a late-game staple of the survivor experience and will ALWAYS exist in some form.
Final thought: What would the survivor gamplay experience be like if there were no hatch? How would survivor Solo Q experience be impacted? What would the Surv suicide/DC rate be with no reason to stay in the game?

I don't blame the killer because it's allowed in the game. I also don't blame survivors for dc'ing during the loading screen when they see a mori offering by the killer.
BHVR has the power to address these things. It's on them. Not killers and survivors....
-
If you search for keys on the discussion board, there are tons of posts on why keys and hatch is necessary. No need to re-hash this topic.

BHVR...we don't need 50k bp. Reduce the grind and let us sell back our items.

Killers should not be able to see the gate lights or how much progression the gate has. Only survivors should see this. This way killers would have to use other methods than just looking at the 2 doors from a hill or in the middle of the map. Why should killers be able to stand in 1 position or run a small loop just looking for one of the gate lights to go on. Seems like killer welfare from BHVR.
-
People on this thread seem to be referencing different groups of survivors. That is part of the difficulty of these discussions regarding this game. You have
1. 4,000 hour youtube streamers and rank 1 pros at playing survivor
2. Swf teams
3. Solo queue individual players.
In some senses there are several right answers. The same perks are too strong for the 1st group, slightly strong for the second group and ok for the 3rd group.
It depends on what group and skill level that BHVR is balancing around.

We'll end the whole conversation about survivors being a team. At this point it's going nowhere, we've both said what we'll say.
But how the hell do you not know Messi? He's like the biggest sports star in the world. Probably the best soccer player of all time.
I agree with you that there needs to be something to address Hook suicides as they are one of the most destructive things to disrupt a 4v1 game and tip the balance heavily in the favor of the killer while making the experience even more daunting for the remaining survivors.
Sure, a survivor could certainly "escape" without doing anything to help the other survivors in the overall objectives of the game via the hatch but escaping is only 1 of the three aspects of the game that people use to determine "success". The other two "success" metrics being Bloodpoints and Pipping. I don't think a survivor who does few objectives but gets a hatch escape will do well in these other two categories. If a survivor is doing well in the latter two categories, then they are helping the other players overall.
Solutions:
- Bots that replace the survivors who DC or suicide
- Incentivize the survivor to stay til the end by giving them 50-100% more BP at the end if they don't suicide or maybe add a category for pipping that gives a boost for not suiciding. Whatever the solution, BHVR should be enough to encourage survivors to not DC or suicide.

I understand why you would say that. Mori's piss off survivors and keys piss off killers. BUT if you remove these then you reduce the game to even more repetitiveness.
Repetitiveness: Do gens, open gate or jump through open hatch. Killer...hook all survivors until dead (2 hooks each)...close hatch.
The keys and Mori's interrupt the repetitive dynamic of the game and force the players to play a little differently. Hexes also do that to a degree. There is value to these items even though it is not fun to be on the receiving end of them at times.

Do you think the games fun when you wait to bleed out on the ground with your team mates, while the killer just stares at you. Still worst game i remember so far. I didn't dc but wished i did.
If killr is camping one survivor then jump on gens and make them pay for that by escaping. Also if a survivor is struggling with a camper killer, make their sacrifice count by finishing gens and showing the killr it's not a winning strategy. If you suicide, you reward the killer. Its a 4v1. It's a we vs me mentality. Sometimes you benefit from this selflessness, sometimes your the dude on the hook.
-
@ABannedCat said:
Its 892bp maximum for 60 seconds struggling, thats really inefficient already. For comparison, you get 1250bp for 80 seconds on a generator alone, 1000bp for 14 seconds on a totem, 1500 if its a hex. You max out boldness to 8K in a solid 2-3 minutes chase, you get 1500bp for a safe unhook with maybe maximum 30 seconds spent.
If you want to go for a maximum bloodpoints per hour, its better to not struggle at the end, to get into the next game as fast as possible. Realisitically survivors are not losing anything.
Ok. So because survivors are no longer allowed to choose to struggle for the 892 bp in exchange for ending the game and getting into another game, that should apply for killers as well.
If a killer hooks the last 3 survivors who instantly can't struggle anymore, the killler should lose 2,767 blood points (892 x 3) in exchange for not having to wait and can get into another game and can move on as well. That way everyone loses bp for the expediting of the game.
Also if i am running the perk were gonna live forever and i have 4 stacks then the struggle represents almost 1800 bp. Many survivors struggle to get even 15k bp in a game so all bps matter. If bhvr was not so stingy with the bp and the grind was not now so huge for newer players then it wouldn't seem like a problem at all. Until bhvr fixes the grind and bp deficit, any change that reduces points in game for either role is a crappy situation for those affected.

@Huff said:

The only situation you can't struggle is when the game is already over and everybody has 0 chance of escaping. Everything you have to say after that point is invalid.
It's invalid to the cost of about 900 bloodpoints because behavior made it invalid.
I don't understand why you refuse to acknowledge this and the negative impact on survivors.
Maybe your killer brain has sacrificed your empathy to the entity... not sure.
...although you did say that you eat the hopes and dreams of survivors in a different post (so don't pretend you are an advocate for both sides).
Are you sure that you play dbd or just post replys? You seem to have a lot of opinions (over 830 posts since jan) so i am sure you can find a few hundred other threads to haunt (i recommend killer threads for you).
This post was a small point about a change made by behavior that reduced the bp haul for some survivors. Less bp is bad for either role. You seem like a smart person. Not sure where your disconnect is. At this point, idc.
Either way. I am done discussing this with you on this topic.
-
@Rydog said:
I don't understand why Behaviour doesn't punish hook suicides the same as disconnects. It makes no sense and legitimizes griefing, because it amounts to nothing more than a penalty-free DC.
Just had a game where two players -- red rank players! -- suicided on-hook inside of the first two minutes. Then, somehow, I'm the one who gets de-pipped for it. It's unbelievable how maliciously negligent Behaviour is with certain aspects of this game, and this is most certainly one of them.
I would suggest a rework. Replace them with a bot as soon as they stop struggling. The bot will continue with the game. This gives killers a survivor to hook and preserves the 4v1 aspect for a bit

@Huff said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1310733#Comment_1310733
No. It's not about taking 1k BP from survivors. My point is they shouldn't just get the BP for free for not doing anything. Stop trying to say things like "If I heard that they made a change that took 1000 bp from killers," because that has nothing to do with it. The point is that it wastes time when players could be getting into the next game.
Quit it with the strawman.
The whole post is about the fact that survivors are now unable to earn 900 bloodpoints. So this post IS about taking points away from survivors.
You say it's not about that...and yet I have 1000 less bloodpoints in many of my games because of their change. I post that they could end the game and give everyone hooked a 900 point bonus to compensate and still speed up the game. win/win I thought. BUT you argue that survivors shouldn't get something for nothing and it slows down my killer game.
DIDN'T SPEED UP THE GAME FOR SURVIVORS: If you were a hooked survivor and you wanted to leave the game all you had to do was stop struggling and you were moving on to the next game.
It really only affected killers having to wait OR survivors who were getting some last BP for a little extra keyboard spamming.
So this is a WIN for killers and a 900 point loss for survivors. Let's call it what it is.
-
Information balance regarding this post would be: EITHER show both or REMOVE both.
BEHVR currently allows killers to lobby dodge survivors by showing them who they are playing against. Remove the survivor's names from the killer's view and BEHVR closes the lobby dodging loop. If they start giving more info to killers about survivors and vice versa then they will only increase the amount of lobby dodging, griefing, stalking, stream sniping etc...by both sides
Regarding SWF...that is another issue worthy of it's own discussion thread. There are strengths in SWF and not in solo play.
BEHVR can open up the amount of lobby information or close it down. right now they just have the one inconsistency of killr seeing survivors names...
-
The bottom line is that if the killer can see the survivor names THEN the survivors should be able to see the killer's name. EITHER show both or REMOVE both. That is the only fair way to do this. There is NO valid reason to show the survivor's names and not the killer's name.
My opinion: No one should see anyone's names in the pre-game lobby...full stop.

Nice assumption but you're wrong. I just happen to like the Doctor a lot because I think he's a cool character. Even before he was reworked. It's not about killer vs. survivor, and I hate how everybody tries to make it that way.
I don't even understand what you mean by you're "no longer allowed to struggle per BEHAVIOR's change." I play my games and I can struggle on hook just fine, and get all my points. The only situation where you're not allowed to struggle anymore is when the game is already decided and over: when the only thing that's left is all the survivors struggling, where there's absolutely no chance any of them will get off the hook. My point is that you're asking for free bloodpoints for not getting to struggle, when you could literally just accept that you're probably going to get just as many bloodpoints on average in the same amount of time if the game does just end right there and you get to move on and start playing the next and getting bloodpoints in that game. I personally think it's a good change because of the reason I just mentioned in the previous sentence, and also because I play both sides so when I play killer, I've experienced what it's like just sitting there waiting for the game to end when there's clearly no chance of it progressing. It's the same feeling I get as survivor when I'm slugged and just waiting the timer out for me to bleed out, because they refuse to add a "give up" option or something when the bar is halfway gone. It's just a waste of time at a player's expense, and there's no real reason for it to happen.
And to address that "If this post is too stale for you, then don't reply" part, it's not that the post is "too stale" for me. It's the fact that at this point you're just borderline necro-ing the thread. I don't think there's necessarily a set amount of time for something to be considered a necro post, but when the post is dead for like 3 weeks and the content is no longer really relevant, I struggle to find a reason not to call it a necro.
Huff, I get it. You don't care about survivors getting 1000 less bloodpoints. If I heard that they made a change that took 1,000 bp from killers, I would not like that. Players should be incentivized to keep playing.
There are 4 times more survivors needed to play a game. The health of the game requires that there is a player base. BEHVR should not be doing things that reduce survivors willingness to play the game...and taking away blood points is one of them. Survivors are the life blood of the game and all players should be concerned when one side has less incentive to play the game.
-
Lately there have been a number of killer buffs in the game. I wonder when the devs will address this. With the EGC squeezing the options for survivor at a gate it seems like this is a good idea.
-

They mentioned in the stream today that they have a new feature similar to end game collapse for the start of the game to slow things down coming soon. So yes, they already said they are working on it.
If survivors actually got decent bloodpoints for games and had something else to do other than gens and totems, they would probably not just jump on a gen. Unlike killer, who gets to play the whole match, survivors can get tunnelled or mori'd out of the game early and not get the opportunity to earn additional points. There need to be other things that gave more points that would incentivize those other actions.
-
What about some type of skin for Survivors who reach "legendary" rank? It would be nice for there to be some type of reward for getting to rank 1 other than a stupid achievement badge.
