    Here's the thing;

You failed once by not getting all generators with your team.

You failed twice by not getting the Hatch before the Killer closed it.

Not opening the gates is the third and final failure you'll experience in a match as a Survivor.

RNG sucks but if you've failed twice already, the third attempt at survival shouldn't be easier than the first two.

While i agree with you, the fact is that there needs to be 4 survivors for every single game in order for 1 killer to be able to play. I would understand why survivors want less close spawns of the exit gates when it gets to a 1v1 situation. Survivors feeling they have a chance in the 1v1 egc is more important than the killer getting an easy 4k. You need 4 times as many survivors as killers in this game in order to play.

It's not you or your playstyle that causes the DC - it is their entitlement and the very low risk of getting punished.

Agreed! This is behavior's problem to fix. Punish survivors and killers for DCing. Behavior is allowing this. Their punishment needs to have teeth. It ruins the game for us solo survivors and the killer.

So could a killer with fire or even magic work in DBD? I did hear they tried a flying killer before an that it didn't even work so they didn't go ahead with it.

I would love to see a killer who can appear to exactly mimic a survivor. That would be some game changing power!

    When as killer:

    You get more fun perks.

You dont have to rely on 3 others.

You have devs attention when it comes to balance.

You get more blood points as killer, so your time spent in this game is more efficient.

    You get more good perks.

I see little to no reason to play survivor unless its in a SWF in the state of the game right now.

True! Solo queue is pretty dismal now with the DCs, Suicides and Potato play of the survivors. But since we need 4 survivors to every killer just to play a game, keeping the survivors interested in playing should be a priority for behavior.

  • Need endgame statistics (survival rate for last survivor if all 5 gens have not been completed) and if devs want a balanced endgame for this scenario.

There is a lot of conjecture about whether killers should have advantage in this scenario. Would like to hear devs thoughts.

  • Until the Devs address player DCs with a realistic penalty, it will go on and on...

I don't mean the BS 40% crap they have now. Look at other team based games who crack down after a few DCs. There needs to be a real penalty.

I would rather have these "babies" stop playing DBD and go back to minecraft. They are a cancer.

Also, the remaining survivors need an incentive when a player DCs. BPs or something else.

The game is not meant to be a 3v1 or 2.5v1

Solo is painful alot of the time because your teammates are terrible. I'm pretty bad at the game. So when I'm anchoring a team were in trouble. Earlier I played a single game as survivor. I had a daily to do. Everyone was higher rank then me with full perk loadouts. I am using a single perk Tapp. They got demolished. I performed 6 unhooks. Finished two gens and escaped through the hatch. I might have gotten more gens but as soon as I unhook somebody the next person went down. To be fair to my team it was a rank 2 killer but still it was ridiculous.

Haha..He says he is bad at the game and yet only uses 1 perk, does 6 unhooks, 2 gens and escapes against a rank2 killer while carrying his team. Come on Dude! Look up the definition of "bad". Are you as awful as Monto or terrible as Noob3?

  • I like the idea of the change.

Killers with the mentality that 4k is a win and anything less is a loss, then they will not support this. They will focus on the argument that why should the 1 survivor left have that option.

Killers are solely responsible for their play. They don't have to rely on anyone else in the game. If this game had 2 killers that had to work together to succeed and one of them was screwing around, they might be asking for a balanced option for them to succeed if their killer teammate didn't pull their weight.

From the last survivor standpoint (solo play), I have no control over my teammates play and this would give some more flexibility to escape. I wish survivors would play more cooperatively but that will never happen (except in SWF). The current game state encourages SWF and discourages solo play. I don't mind being killed but It is not fun when my fellow survivors don't pull their weight and I have to spend the next 5 - 10 minutes with little chance to succeed and low probability end-game options.

  • Why do killers feel the need to actively post aggravating or derogatory responses in the SURVIVOR lobby? I don't feel the need to go into the killer lobby and tell killers how to play, act, think or condescend them.

I am not a dev but I would guess that they probably didn't envision the survivor lobby as a forum for killers to cast shade on survivors while we are discussing survivor related topics.

Killers are free to post wherever and just know that you represent the killers in the game. Your posts are a reflection of your personal character.

BTW, this goes for survivors behavior toward killers as well.

The new strat is to not even look for hatch, and let the killer find and close it. Just wait at one of the gates and as soon as hatch is closed, start opening the gate. I've escaped about 10 games by doing this. Not hard.

I have had the opposite experience. I have only escaped through the door 1/15 times approx.

    1. I have waited by the door and opened as soon as the hatch was closed
    2. I have waited for the killer to head toward the other door and started opening but was downed with 2 or 3 secs remaining on the door.

The door opening time needs to be reduced by about 3 seconds IMO.

The other idea is for the door lights to all be lit so the killer can't see if a door is being worked on from a distance and has to actually go near the door to see if a survivor is there.

I expect a balance to be done once the devs get some escape statistics from the endgame gameplay. Hopefully the devs will share data with the community so we all know what other players are experiencing.

  • So I understand that Endgame Collapse was meant to prevent toxic behavior and people spending too much time at the gates, etc.

I expect that once the devs get good gameplay data on how many door openings were successful during the end game collapse, they may adjust for balance. It seems like a low percentage of success for the last survivor to be able to get a door open, especially when the killer needs to just get line of sight on the doors (to see if they have been worked) and doesn't actually have to get close to a gate. We'll see what changes are made regarding this by the devs. I have employed several strategies which have had little success myself

  • How is the hatch an "easy free" escape?

    1. As the killer you get to move easily around the map with no worry and look for the hatch. The survivor has to worry about you finding them so they can't move freely.
    2. You get time (from the initial death hook) to look for the hatch or get to the hatch without it opening.
    3. You get to close the hatch if you find it.
  • How do you know that that hatch shouldn't even exist? Are you a dbd dev or is that just your opinion?

  • Once the EGC is activated by closing the hatch, if all three lights of the gates become lit (even if the survivor still needs to take the full time to open the gates) the killer would still have to come near to the gates to check for the last survivor. As it is now, the killer only needs line-of-sight on the gate lights to see that a gate has not started to be opened. It would buy a few more seconds for the survivor to open the gate if the killer is checking the opposite gate.

  • One other point, Killers don't have to physically go up to a gate to see that it has not been triggered. Just getting within the sight-line of the gate to see if it has been activated is enough to see if a survivor is there or has activated the gate. It's worse when gates spawn closer together. It's a grim scenario for the survivor..

  • I'm not saying that you specifically do this but I see on both forums (survivor and killer) comments relating to "just stop crying", "just stop whining", "get over it" and other "get gud" etc...

These comments don't advance either forum's discussions of the topics presented. It perpetuates the toxic reputation of the dead by daylight community. Both Killers and survivors have valid concerns. I don't like to see killers get unfavorable changes either. Balance seems to be the mantra of Behavior devs and their changes don't always achieve that.

I know there will always be people who say denigrating remarks on both forums but we all get to decide if we want to contribute to the toxicity or advance whatever topic is presented with our comments respectfully.

  • How do other group games handle DCs? I would love to hear from people on how this has been addressed in other games. I agree there needs to be something done.

The current solution is not effective and only addresses serial offenders after a long history of DCing. It's laughable.

I'm sorry but the hatch system before completely rewarded the survival for losing three of your teammates died before you could pop all the generators.

Now that you actually have to get to the hatch first or you have to actually work for your escape people are complaining.

Also I hate to be this person but wake up is a thing use it if it's such a problem to you

Imagine being a solo survivor (not SWF) who is playing a game for fun and is constantly plagued by DCing survivor babies, suiciding survivor babies and just all-around stupid play (not doing gens, hook rushing, farming, constant unproductive hiding etc...). Most of the time my only option is to hope for a hatch. I don't consider it a complete reward. It is probably the one thing that has kept me playing the game and by no means is guaranteed. The endgame scenario has greatly diminished my ability to survive at all when I am the last survivor, all gens have not been done and the hatch is closed...Which happens quite frequently.

I don't play SWF because i consider it an unfair advantage to be in contact with teammates during the match.

IMO...The endgame in it's current form is most impactful to solo players who don't have any intel from the other players such as hatch location. The unintended consequence of the endgame may be to push solo players to SWF groups. It is already hard enough for solo players (see dev stats on solo survival rate). We'll see what the next round of dev stats shows with the endgame now live.

  • Strategies...hmmm

Nightmare scenario: When you are the last survivor, all 5 gens have NOT been completed and you are solo and do not have a key or know the location of the hatch...Endgame timer starts, the hatch is closed.

As a solo survivor, one strategy I have found that has some success so far is to:

Hide near an exit gate and hope that the killer checks your gate first. immediately start opening the gate as soon as the killer sees your gate is not open and heads toward the other gate. Hopefully the killer does not have time to come back to your gate before you get it open. If the killer sees that the other gate is not lit and doubles back early, then you are most probably dead.

If you have a key and can follow the killer to note his position when endgame starts then you can deduce the hatch location and escape via the hatch.

The deck is stacked against survivors in this scenario and IMO the chances of survival are slim.

  • @DemonDaddy said:

No we don't need to ease the pressure. If we can't make it out by the time it comes to just the gates, we should feel the full weight of our failures having placed us in that position.

While your statement reflects one perspective... I wonder if the devs at behavior wish to see this scenario be more balanced (if the stats show a low success rate for survivor) or rather as you intimate, they are ok with a more grim situation for the final survivor.

If the survivor believes that in this instance, the game is all but won by the killer, then it becomes mop up duty for the killer (not much challenge) and survivors are more likely to DC or give up. We'll see what (if any) changes are made in the future.

I have not had any success with hatch or door in this scenario yet. It's demoralizing and I would like to hear from other survivors regarding their success rate.

Salty killers need not reply...post to your own forum. We survivors know how you feel.

  • Hey Killers,

This is the survivor forum. There is a killer forum for you all to comment all you want. Not sure why you feel the need to troll our discussions regarding issues we face such as end game, hatch and exit gate distances.
