I'm not complaining about NOED and am not calling for a nerf but I would like to say this.
If a killer is tunnelling a survivor aren't the other survivors encouraged to rush gens? Therefore when are they able to run around the whole map and make sure all totems are cleansed?
Still believe solo q should have a totem counter. Swf teams know how many totems are cleansed and where they were cleansed but solo q survivors unfortunately don't.
Imo I think NOED has the same problems as OoO. NOED isn't OP vs a swf, but I feel like it's a bit much vs solo q. OoO isn't OP vs solo q survivors, but it's definitely too strong in a swf team.

This is a really good point actually, and the first rebuttal to the idea I've seen that isn't just "lol no killers have it too EZ already git gud"
Cheers mate lol thought it was only fair to give some credit where credit was due. The idea is something that would suit what the devs had originally envisioned.
-
I actually find the stamina bar idea quite interesting. Feel like if they created a new game they'd maybe add a mechanic like this.
I will say though your reasoning for wanting to add it has a flaw. You want it added because of survivors running a killer for a marathon then using it later in the chase. Thing is that's the killers fault for chasing a survivor that long.
I don't want to encourage killers to continue with these really long chases because the survivor will soon be exhausted. Killer should be taught to not chase survivors too long if that survivor is wasting a lot of their time.

I think it would be pretty hard for the devs to make a strong anti-tunnel perk that doesn't affect people who aren't tunneling. You could make ds last indefinitely or just very long until you complete an action, but then you end up with people who will do absolutely nothing all game & you'll get hit with ds even if you weren't chasing them.
Yea but you said it yourself, they do nothing the whole game. So if you get hit with DS after 2+ minutes then you know that survivor is doing absolutely nothing and that 5 second stun from DS was worth it.

I'm not sure if you have programming experience or not. But it's a weird thing and just how it goes. You can put something in game. And it'll bug something that's completely unrelated.
I've done a bit of Java and C# but I didn't get that many bugs. Obviously I'm doing it on a much smaller scale but I didn't think they'd have as many as they do.

Those saying that J-Flicks should stay don't care/do not acknowledge that it can't be done on console. They are all PC players and that's all they care about.
The fact that not every Blight can do this due to platform alone is enough to remove it in my opinion.
Yea I'm in a similar boat. I don't think it's fair that someone can have a completely different experience with a killer, based off their system.
-
All I want is firecrackers that can be used TWICE before losing them. Nothing more nothing less.
Otherwise just the usual licensed chapter and 5th year gateaus.
-
Not sure about kobes but definitely chests are bugged.
It always amazes me how the devs create a bug which is completely unrelated to anything they should be touching. The tricksters power and perks for both have no effect on chests π
-
Personally I find it quite annoying just because of the fact it can't be done on all platforms.
You could be an amazing Blight but are limited by which platform your on. It also makes console players who play Oni and Blight look like they're bad killers when facing pc players. It's hard to balance something properly if it is easier on certain systems (Hi scroll wheel Hag π)
I didn't realise it was a feature the devs were going to change till last night but I'm all for it.

I disagree I always used it for anti-tunneling and never offensively. I don't get why people did use it offensively. You would see survivors charge at the killer to purposefully use DS with 4 gens left....well that's great because the killer is sure as hell going to tunnel you out now.
I tried everything in my power to not use DS. I'd try to heal and get away from the hook, DS was a last resort because once it was gone it was welcome to tunnel town. But paradoxically just having it available stopped you from being tunneled. DS was more powerful not being used.
There's a slight misunderstanding when I meant offensively. I was more meaning like doing a gen, totem or getting a save with DS. You could get unhooked, finish a gen, get another unhook and still hit the killer with DS. People who just ran at the killer for reason with DS then yes it was deserved if they got tunnelled after that.
I'm the same as you where I would try and save DS as long as possible but the thing is you know yourself that if a killer wanted to actually tunnel you then DS did very little. Some killers could eat a DS early on in a match and then tunnel you for free. The counters for old DS were good, but unnecessary now.
Having an obsession was powerful but now since it's nerf killers don't expect many survivors to have DS, even if there is an obsession.
-
Tunnelling is at an all time high right now. Most of my games over the past few days have had no obsession.
I know "It's still the same perk when it comes to tunnelling" but let's be honest, it was never a good anti-tunnelling perk. People really only run DS because of it's offensive uses such as going for unhooks or rushing a nearly done gen.
Now before I continue I feel like I need to clarify. Was old DS broken? Yes, 1000% yes. They NEEDED to nerf it and thank god they did.
The problem I have is that now it's offensive uses are gone, the bad anti-tunnelling part of the perk has been exposed. The perk still has it's many different counters which helped a little with broken DS, but not with this current DS. Everyone knows that if a killer wants you dead, DS never really protected you that well. It was really dependent on how bad the killer was if you were going to live or die.
Something needs to be done to buff the perk a little. Just something that actually makes it good vs a proper tunnelling killer.
I know I'm probably going to get 100 messages saying why I'm wrong and why I'm missing my "crutch" perk but I just had to say my point while it was on my mind.

So I took like 2 years off but is the only change to DS now that you can't do actions or it stops? If that's the case any complaints about it seem really sad and salty. If I'm wrong please tell me but it seems like it still allows you to get away from a tunnel it just doesn't let you get a free gen or totem or whatnot.
Basically after you get unhooked you can't unhook someone, finish your 75% gen, heal that survivor, get downed in 5 seconds then hit the killer with a 59 second DS for 'Tunnelling'. So yea it can't be used as aggressively as it was before.

"Β Is it fair that they got a perk to help with tunnelling only to see that it can be easily avoided by the killer who just camps their slugged body?"
Yes. For the reason I mentioned.
So it's not an anti-tunnelling perk then. It's just a perk that wastes a tiny bit of the killers time.

It appears to be a small few with reading comprehension issues. They regurgitate the same "git gud" arguments at nauseam. Apparently we should loop the killer for 5 gens and not be hooked if we don't want to be tunnelled. I'm not kidding - those are literally the replies I've gotten tonight XD
Honestly I'd just rather they admitted to wanting to tunnel people tbh lol
If your talking from a neutral pov then you'd know how easy it is to counter tunnel, even with DS.
I guess we're the only unbiased ones here lol

If you wasted over a full minute of the Killer's time in a chase you have nothing to complain about. That's 80% of any generators that started when the chase began, and full completion of any generator that was 1/4 done or more. This is a WEIRD complaint.
Why are people struggling to get what I'm saying here lol I swear people are just reading the part where I say "DS buff" and immediately disagree with everything just because it's DS.
DS and BT are the only proper anti-tunnelling perks in the game. If you don't want to rely on your teammates then DS is your only option.
What if it's a killer chasing a rank 10 survivor who doesn't last a minute in chase? Is it fair that they got a perk to help with tunnelling only to see that it can be easily avoided by the killer who just camps their slugged body.
If I choose to play Spirit later and tunnel one survivor to death every game, you better believe DS won't stop them from dying. If they aren't great at looping then believe they will be dead before 3 gens have been completed.

If the killer actually tunnels, it still works.
It's still got the same problems it had before. Killer tunnels you for longer than 1 minute or camps your slugged body then it does nothing. Plus once you've used DS it's a free tunnel.
@JimbusCrimbus said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2061458#Comment_2061458
100% of the perks anti-tunnel functionality is still intact.
It deactivates if you touch a gen, heal yourself, touch a totem, sabo a hook, or unhook someone else. You do not get to complain about tunneling if you are doing any of those things. Period, end of story.
I said the change was very good lad lol I understand how the perk works and understand quite well what is and isn't tunnelling.
My main point is that a killer could tunnel someone to death easily even with DS if they wanted. It was really used because of it's offensive capabilities as well as potential tunnelling. Since it's anti-tunnelling is flawed and it has no offensive ability it'll never be run, meaning even easier tunnelling.
All I want is just a buff to the anti-tunnelling part of the perk.
-
Very good change but it's not going to be used much unless they actually buff the anti-tunnelling part of it.
So free tunnelling pretty much lol

That first sentence. Overstatement of the decade.
Go back to the Twins launch, and tell me they "knew what they were doing". If they knew what they were doing with that fiasco, we should actually be terrified of the day when they don't know.
Tbf your right the first sentence didn't come out the way I wanted π what I sort of meant was they have a rough idea about the balance of the killer before releasing it.
Deathslinger people were begging for him to be 115% but good thing they didn't listen to that.
During the ptb they realised that the Twins were super weak against lockers and people holding Victor forever. They didn't give Twins a massive buff bar changing these few things. People said they were still super weak yet I've seen a lot of people have great success with them. They seem to actually be better than people originally believed.
My point about the Twins was that maybe these changes to the Trickster are actually better than people first realise. Maybe after a few weeks people will be doing really well with him. People complaining about these "terrible buffs" maybe should just wait and see how he is first.
-
I think the devs know what their doing. They didn't buff Twins much (thank god) which we were all crying for. Currently they seem to do quite well once you know how to play them.
Now the idea of a weaker Ruin being basekit I massively disagree. Just randoms are too unpredictable. I also don't want MMR added because of the fact that nobody wants every game they play to be super sweaty.
-
It's literally the only perk I care about on the killer side. I really want to try running Ruin, Tinkerer, Undying and Crowd Control together on my Bubba.
-
I mained old Bubba. I got 4k in pretty much every game I played with him against good teams, bad teams and teams with broken items aka Keys.
I can be the first to tell you that old Bubba was weak if not played correctly. He is the only killer in the game who was required to run 2 perks (Play With Your Food + Nemesis) to have any chance of winning a game. It took a very smart killer to work these perks properly and win.
New Bubba was buffed but is not OP. He isn't reliant on perks which is excellent. To use his charges you need pretty good timing to get the maximum value out of it. Camping is a problem with Bubba that will never be properly fixed but camping is broken on a lot of killers if you do it correctly.
New Bubba punishes bad survivors who don't know looping properly. He requires you to drop pallets early and not get greedy to survive. He punishes survivors grouping together which is something not a lot of killers can do. He punishes survivors getting out positioned which is the survivors fault.
New Bubba isn't OP and the devs aren't dumb enough to nerf a killer who isn't even top tier.

I have a mate like that. He's at probably 150 hours now and I've been coaching him as survivor. He's got to rank 8 killer so he knows the game isn't killer sided.
He's just one of those people who will blame the game and not see what he did wrong. If he gets too annoyed then he'll just give up.
Worst thing he does is dc then just leave his computer without telling us what's going on. He'll stay on discord and on dbd but not be there. It's a shame because it ruins the experience for the and my other mate who I'm coaching. He never apologies for it either. He just says "why do I need to always say when I'm going" or something like that.

Yea I did get around to it actually and most of the time they work as intended but I'm starting to wonder if occasionally there's a desync when the killer picks the survivor up because occasionally I got a beam when I shouldn't have like you did in the most recent picture but also there were times where I feel I had to aim much higher than I should've to get the blind because it didn't work right normally , it's almost as if occasionally it desyncs with the map on where exactly the pick up is and where the FOV to blind is , over 90% of the time they worked as intended but there is definitely some sort of issue going on that I'm starting to think is cause by the pickup
That flashlight attempt just opened my eyes to it even more. I always assumed PH was nearly a 100% no from any angle that wasn't face on but that attempt confused me.
Before your beam never cancelled out for no reason mid attempt. It either gave you the beam or didnt.
I already tagged Mandy but she hasn't replied to say whether it's bugged or not.
-
First off I missed this flashlight (did it about 1 millisecond too early) but how did I get a beam from this angle. I didn't expect to get a beam so I just went to click the flashlight but as soon as I got a beam I kept blinding.
Everything possibly wrong with flashlights were in this attempt.
- Nearly a 90Β° from the killer
- Killer is Pyramid Head
- On the killers left (survivor bodies can sometimes stop blinds)
- No FOV increasing perks (only had Deathbound)
Take a look at this attempt and tell me how I got a beam here but not in the PH attempt I had in my earlier message.
@The_Krapper did you do your tests? I'm very interested to hear what you think lad.

Then I saw the video where Frank stabs David and I was: cool, we're gonna disguise as survivors.
Then I saw the spotlight and it was running and stabbing and I was: ok, running and stabbing were in the previous trailer.
Then I saw how miserable was the survivor experience and I was: whatever, he must be fun to play as.
Then I saw that half of your gameplay was moonwalking and I was: sigh.
Exactly the same as me lol I was extremely disappointed to see what they choose to do. I literally wrote a chapter idea based off this because I felt like that should've been Legions power.

Well bearing in mind I've faced 6 hackers in just over a month I actually hope they get worse.
4 of those was the same hacker with infinite tier 3, with Tombstone Myers. When you add speed and wall hacks to it then you understand why the games went bad.

You learn the animation point and click a button. It is even easier then a normal blind because the direction of the killer is predetermined.
You should not be able to blind a killer if you are not in their fov. They did this once and survivors cried so they went back on it.
Yea but there's a few things you need to consider. Perks can effect speeds (Fire Up), certain lockers are impossible and certain killers it's impossible to do it on. Plus they will then need to remove all animation flashlights to be consistent like vault grabs, hook grabs and gen grabs.
If they aren't in your fov like the top two pictures I sent then you shouldn't be able to blind them but the locker ones you can usually see them a bit from the side.
-
@Zozzy said:

It's not been changed, your aim was slightly off on Phead and we would honestly need a video to be able to confirm you're having a issue and it's not just timing/aim causing it , I'm not saying you can't use a flashlight I'm sure you're good with one but it's just hard to really see the situation with those screenshots, one thing I will say is it's easier from the other side of the locker where the survivors butt isn't blocking the beam and the bottom picture you were too far over on the side , you need a more diagonal angle if you're gonna save from the side survivors body is on
Maybe your right about the PH one but you can't deny the other angles are stupid (the ones I got). Tbh I've always felt like PH has a weirder blind compared to other killers. I fully believe if that was any other killer then I would've gotten that save, especially a few weeks ago.
I agree that the other side is better but I never had problems with locker saves before now all of a sudden I do. In my mind I believe they've done something to the blinding at side angles and that's why lockers are also affected by it.
-
Could actually be a good buff to monstrous shrine instead. Actually give it a good purpose when doing basement builds.
-
Here is some old flashlight saves I got before I noticed a change. These were about 4 weeks till 2 weeks ago.
Btw the second one I'm certain had Monitor and Abuse. I've got a look more weird angles but these are the most noticable ones.
Here is an attempt since then where I get no beam.
Also look at these two pictures next to each other. First one was a save and the second one didn't give me a beam till the very last second.
@MandyTalk can you please check and confirm what's been changed please?

Locker blinds have been easy peasy for me lately so Im not sure, me and my friend just ran head on and flashlights on yamoaka estate (or however it's spelled idc) and there are two lockers that spawn in the front by the opening in the middle hall , we both were trolling hopping in the locker and whoever would get pulled out the other would hop out and save and sometimes we head on them before they can pull us out just to mix it up lol try playing that little game with a friend if you can get a locker spawn like that, The killer will eventually just leave the area but it's good practice
Yea I've done that before lol I was pretty good with them up until recently.
I don't mind missing but not getting a beam is just weird. I'll send a picture here in like 2 minutes of saves I gotten before 2 weeks ago and a miss or 2 now over the past 2 weeks.

They never did anything suspect for the rest of the game. INSANELY good at looping, hard as hell to catch, but nothing I saw as being outside the realm of possibility. Got them on a hook twice, so they were perfectly killable. I generally don't assume hacks unless the actions are super obvious, though. So ya, MAYBE hacking, but I never saw any real evidence of it.
Yea it's weird if their only hack was that. It's obviously hard for me to tell since I wasn't in the game to see it. All I know is that I've faced a hacker now 6 times in just over a month so I feel like they're picking up.

I would agree that there might be something off with Flashlight Saves from an angle. There were two instances where I am 100% sure I got the timing right and still did not get the save. In one of those instances I even was running away already before realizing that it did not work.
I thought that I messed up somehow (even tho, as I said, I was 100% sure that I got the right timing), but if others also have experienced that...
I dont know anything about Locker Blinds tho, never tried them.
Lockers are quite obviously changed. The other thing isn't as obvious but if you use them enough then you'll notice it.
I'll send a few pictures of old saves I've gotten compared to ones I've not even got a beam on now.

The first blind didn't surprise me, truth be told, I just figured I did something wrong. The second blind, however, did. It wasn't the gradual build up, but rather happened super fast and seemed to last longer. I was looking up from the very start as well. It was like the first one wore off and was like "OH HEY I FORGOT SOMETHING" and hopped back into my eyes real fast.
Sounds like a hacker tbh mate lol
@The_Krapper said:
They work just fine for me , maybe m2 is going out on your mouse or if you have a controller the button is going out , it's also possible to have stick drift on a controller so you could be starting the blind correctly and then drifting slightly out of blinding territory, idk there's a number of things it could be but I don't think they are broken
They work perfectly fine when your face on. The thing is if your at a slight angle then it is extremely inconsistent. Locker blinds have 10000000% been changed recently I know that for certain.
-
Ino it was only on for supposedly one day but I've definitely noticed that it's been doing something the past 2 weeks. When I play with my mates who are a lower rank we are either getting rank 1 killers (my rank) or lower rank killers who are quite obviously pretty decent at the game.
The night will start off with some average killers but after maybe 3/4 games there is a noticable change in how each killer plays.
