  • They won't make Kindred basekit and there's a good reason for that.

Watch McCleans (think that's the correct spelling) reaction to Scott's fake 7.0.0 patch. He gives his reasons for why making Kindred basekit is a bad idea.

  • It's just a bait thread

  • Well done mate πŸ‘ now you need to get the other flashlight saves lol

Just the distance, you can still use the immunity to avoid ranged attacks so huntress, DeathS, Pyramid, Pinhead, trickster, artist. And then you can use it on trapper traps, blights if done towards them and even nurse as she will enter fatigue after you dodge the swing.

But let's say it kills DH (which it wont) you said 2 perks would replace it, that's already than 1 perk better than all.

Overcome requires you to be healthy, meaning if they want use from it they have to heal (waste some time)

SB, you can bait it out and doesnt help at loops. You can 99 sure but you cant do gens while 99 so efficiency isnt as good.

Other perks have requirements or drawbacks, DH doesnt really have that. Removing distance would make it more situational and in line with others imo

I believe it will kill dead hard because I don't see a good nerf except the one I suggested. Removing the distance will just make it look like the killer missed a hit and not tell them was it a dead hard or not. If they remove the invulnerability then it'll fully kill the perk.

Sprint Burst is already quite annoying on all killers without mobility and range attacks. Plus all the top players will learn to just perfectly 99% it. Overcome I don't think will be as bad as Sprint Burst but still I think people will give it a bunch of #########. Plus in the Circle Of Healing meta, being healed isn't difficult.

No thats wrong I don't mind going against these perks

Well damn I must be wrong. If your saying I'm wrong then I must be 100% wrong with that whole post.

Well if the devs try to nerf dead hard I'll say they're wrong and they won't do anything lol

  • I personally believe once Dead Hard is nerfed the killers will start to give hate to Sprint Burst and Overcome.

I would like dead hard to give "permanent exhaustion" after it's used. Make it a 1 time use per game. I just don't think you can nerf the perk in any other way without completely killing it.

  • I think anything other than Jason will be a disappointment for the 6th year chapter. I don't even like the movies but the series the only one big enough for the anniversary.

Reasons why I believe these killers aren't big enough:

    • Chucky - Just can't work in dbd. Just can't imagine them creating a good Chucky character.
    • Predator - Doesn't feel big enough tbh. I have a few reasons but I find it hard to explain.
    • Pennywise - 2 years too late.
    • Candyman - Not big enough, even with the new movie.

I'd happily take these chapters in the future, just not for an anniversary.

The only 2 contenders I think that feel big enough otherwise are Alien or FNAF. I know people hate FNAF but the series is still releasing lots of games, books and even a movie soon. Everyone has heard of FNAF in the gaming sphere, and soon so will the movie audience. You don't need to like it but you can't deny it's still going strong.

The reason I think Alien is big enough, but not Predator is because of the design of Alien and the different abilities that it could have. Think most people will find Alien more exciting than Predator.

  • Favourite thing:

    • Perks - Flashbangs are 11/10, more variety at higher ranks with killer perks and interesting new mechanic in boon totems.

    Least favourite thing:

    • In Game - pallet bug at the beginning of the year
    • Outside Game - my problems with the game. 2 months of unplayable lag and 2 months of being unable to play the game without using 4G wifi.
  • I filled it out. I'll be honest I found some of the questions a bit hard to answer because there's some maps I like, but I know they aren't balanced in certain ways.

I tried my best to say why I enjoy said maps, but also state their problems.

  • It depends. I'll obviously be pissed off but I'll change my mind if:

    • Killer has Ruin: Not as pissed
    • I have Kindred: Extremely pissed

    It really depends.

  • Nurse 100% and probably Blight.

    Eh.

    1. Yes, it's a very difficult priority to learn. The tutorial makes it seems essential.
    2. I find myself doing this sometimes. Gotta go Crazy Ivan to catch people.
    3. To be fair, even very experienced players fall for this sometimes.
    4. Yeah.

    I'd also add

    • Misses a lot of attacks.
    • Overcommits to unwinnable chases.
    • Camps (it sounds weird, but it's such an obviously effective tactic, and new players might not know that it goes counter to the etiquette of the game).
    • Gets 360'd a lot.
    • Always vaults or breaks the pallet.
    • Spends a lot of time waiting for 1 gen to regress.

I'm going to also amend the bottom one a little and say they guard a bad gen for too long.

I.e Trying to protect the Dead Dawg Saloon gen, even though most players just let it go.

  • I don't really care much about Jason tbh but I would really to see his map.

I'm pretty sure though he'll be the 6th year anniversary killer

  • Definitely correct because all pc players are amazing πŸ˜‚

  • It's good to hear your enjoying these games πŸ‘ but I don't think anyone will really believe these games will compete with dbd.

Dbd will never have a true competitor unless a AAA company tries to create their own asymmetrical horror game with a few big licences in their starting roster.

Can i not post a positive thing without people thinking they can trash talk on it. If you haven't got a positive comment then please don't comment just scroll past

Sorry mate I was just trolling lol

Your joking Freddy was OP and I was joking Ormond (a known survivor sided map) was killer favoured. I'm not saying anything negative about your post.

Once again apologies if you didn't see the joke I was trying to make.

  • Nerfed Freddy, with fake pallets and not a great build.. yea ormond is killer sided lol

Devs you know what to do next πŸ˜‚

  • I think this just proves that ormond is killer favoured πŸ˜‚

  • After listening to McLeans reaction to Scottjunds joke patch idea I understand why they haven't and won't do this.

When you listen to why he says they don't make Kindreds effects basekit, you can apply the same logic to this.

  • My mind is blown

  • So what your saying is if dead hard is removed then killers won't need anymore buffs? πŸ˜‚ that's what it sounds like to me.

Someone definitely hasn't played survivor enough to see the alternatives to dead hard.

  • Yea that's a great idea!

Then they can nerf Pig after since her kill rate will go up

Again, this is a fundamental misunderstanding. It’s not like she can now get the same results if the killer tried harder with her: she is significantly worse and it is simply not possible to mindgame good survivors anymore. She’s not β€œharder”, she’s worse and not worth playing.

Sorry but I gotta disagree mate. She was nerfed but she is still one of the best killers in the game.

I don't know how you can say she's "not worth playing". She's still in the top 5, in my opinion still top 3.

People like playing killers that are easy to learn, with really good results. It's why a killer like Huntress is one of the most played killers at high mmr.

The only killer that is difficult to learn, that people play is Nurse. The reason people learn her though is because everyone knows she's the best killer by a mile.

  • Thing about Spirit was that before her nerf, she was quite easy to play. You could pick Spirit, spend very little time learning her, and still 4k quite consistently at the highest level.

However since the nerf to Stridor, and now the directional phase nerf, people just don't want to spend time properly learning her. She is still extremely good but isn't as easy as before.

  • Well I've said on here for years now I absolutely despise Hag. I find playing as her unfun and find playing against her extremely unfun.

For me you'll only get a few different type of Hag games when playing as survivor.

    1. A Bad Hag: This one is terrible at the game. You basically can never go down because she gives up on traps too early in the game and just runs at a slower speed than most killers (haven't seen since MMR). Easy win so it's boring.
    2. Hag Main: No matter where you run, you hit a trap. These Hags will scroll wheel teleport and hit you immediately as soon as a trap is set off. Your skills at looping are worth nothing in most chases since by the time you see the trap, you've set it off and been hit. Having to walk or crouch everywhere is also extremely boring.
    3. Camping Hags: These Hags just put all the traps around your hook and camp. These can be good or bad at her. Nothing much to say to be honest.

All of this and I don't even talk about Mint Rag or Rusty Shackles. These add-ons plus having a Devour Hope or basement build is extremely annoying.

Never had a fun Hag game in my life. Playing as or vs her.

Yep. Just about any changes will kill it. I guess that's what a lot of people want, though.

I always use it but even I wouldn't mind if it was nerfed. I just don't see a good way of doing it.

  • I don't know what you'd change. Problem though is any change will probably kill dead hard.

Which will cause every survivor to run Sprint Burst or Overcome instead and killers will be complaining about them.

  • Only see it on the new survivor. Otherwise I never see it.

I was was part of the group that was laughing about people thinking it was OP.

  • Going to be honest, I stopped reading after the part about nerfing DS again..

  • If a 4 man let you get a 4k because of Lightborn then they should stop playing the game πŸ˜‚

Any actual good player, and especially a 4 man will just sit on gens if they see you have Lightborn and end the game as fast as possible.

Unfortunately this is why people have to last minute swap to items.

  • Probably because the team will be off for a bit leading up to the new year. Would look weird having a holiday event during the new year.

  • Took me a minute to think of these:

    Survivor:

    • Franklin's
    • Noed
    • Ruin

    Killer:

    • Dead Hard
    • CoH
    • Iron Will

As survivor I find Franklin's the most unfun because of how it depletes your item so fast. I'd far rather the old version where I keep my charges so long as someone touches it. Noed is noed. Ruin (especially with Undying or Tinkerer) just because it means I need to stay on gens instead of running for flashlight saves.

Dead hard is quite obvious for killer. CoH I have been fortunate to not be affected by it as much as others (playing Bubba and Trapper), but I know I will hate it. The last one was tough but I went with Iron Will. Just trying to mind game any tile when you can't hear a survivor is extremely annoying.

  • Think of Lightborn from a veteran survivors point of view.

If the killer doesn't bring Lightborn:

    • You follow a survivor around, not doing gens.
    • You have no idea when the survivor might go down so your pretty much a detriment to the team.
    • When they finally go down 9/10 it's impossible for you to get the save because of perks (infectious), powers or walls.

Then you see the killer has Lightborn.

    • You become efficient and sit on gens.
    • You spend less time messing around because you want to escape so you can keep your flashlight.
    • Your not giving the killer free hits when you go for saves.

Now imagine all this but in a 4 man. They will all have this mentality.

  • He's playing as Legion with perks he even said aren't the best. Those survivors brought the map, brought really good perks and knew exactly what they're plan was.

All this proves to me is 3 things:

    1. Nobody (especially survivors) should be able to bring map offerings. Knowing the map allows you to bring builds that exploit problems with that map.
    2. Perks should have weight when it comes to MMR.
    3. Mains buildings shouldn't be made this strong.

A few people said this but Tru3 should've only chased survivors who had to mend since this means they can't sit in lockers.

  • @Thrax said:

Make it start at the beginning of the game so they have something to do besides gens right off the bat.

I think with a killer like Nurse in the game, this would be way more broken than old moris, DS and keys.

  • I think a 60 second cooldown isn't really enough. Bearing in mind they can be up for a very long time before being found. Since boon totems have made matches last longer, 60 seconds feels like nothing.

CoH either way needs a nerf.

  • I disagree with the statement the devs are survivor sided. All I notice is when killer is buffed, you'll get a few thank you threads, then nothing else. Whereas as soon as a killer is slightly nerfed, everyone goes mad for months.

I remember when the hatch and keys were nerfed, the thing every killer complained about, there was hardly any word about it. All people wanted to talk about was how the killed Deathslinger and Spirit.

Do I agree with all their changes? No. The newer maps have all been stupidly big and survivor sided. CoH needs a nerf also. I also don't understand why they nerfed Wraith either. However I feel like people complain too much about killers/add-ons that they rarely used before their nerf.

  • Yea everyone does it. All my mains will get 1 of the the new offerings, items and add-ons to keep.

Up until recently I always had to use my event stuff in a match before prestiging a character. Though after the annoying Blight add-on and many useless toolboxes, I've decided to just prestige.

  • Unfortunately mate that's how the game is balanced. If that same swf faced you using bad perks like technician or visionary, and you used the meta, then you'd win.

I didn't mention maps, killer or add-ons since you never mentioned it above. There's a lot of factors in this game that decides whether a match is basically unwinable or not.

7 minutes tbh isn't as quick of a game as I'd expect given your not running the meta perks. You must've done well, or they didn't rush gens.

  • I'm happy you won that game mate πŸ‘ though they may have been trying to annoy you and be toxic, they weren't sweaty.

If they were sweaty then they would have all brought flashlights. They would've just rushed gens and while 1 survivor looped you. From what I've read it seems like they were just messing around with flashlights, rather than rush gens.

Devs killed the stealth killer idea with Boon Totems so unlucky mate. More anti loop medicine for you. Yummy!

Devs gave up on stealth killers before boons were released lol the last killer with an actual stealth ability was Ghostface. By the time this new chapter comes out that'll be just short of 3 years lol

It's not like there aren't killers who can give it away on spawn anyway due to map props.

    And Pinhead, obviously.

Exactly but I kind of want this killer to be scary, so that would mean they would have a stealth ability. Only the Pig gives away who they are to start the trial as a stealth killer.

Whether this killer uses stealth or not I think it would be cool to see your character immediately look at a video of the ring.

  • No idea. Though I think it would be cool if once we load into the trial we immediately watch the video before we see the map.

Obviously this gives away who the killer is immediately but I think it still would be pretty cool.

  • Ok I've deleted it. Log onto the game to spend your bloodpoints. We'll give you 100,000 bloodpoints per offering you still have πŸ˜‚

  • Kayako is the Grudge? (American version)

Honestly she scared the ######### out of me when I was a kid. I remember watching a movie (2nd one) where someone went into a room with a bunch of boarded up windows. In each gap between the boards you can see eyes looking back at her.

At the time I was in my sunroom which had 3 massive windows, with no blinds, around me. I sat there for 3 hours after the film ended staring at the tv because I didn't want to look at the windows lol even the game scared the ######### out of my friend while we played together.

I would really really like her but it won't be. Hopefully this is a good chapter. Please be a stealth killer with some good mobility.

  • He's still there but just slightly worse.

Hopefully this new killer turns out be a better Wraith lol

  • I fully agree. Just don't create another killer who strong at looping so it encourages holding W.

I'd love a mobility killer with stealth tbh.

  • I'm definitely intrigued. Really surprised they announced it so early though.

  • One of the only souls game I haven't played. My favourite by a mile is bloodborne.

Can't compete with it's theme and the great bosses. If DS3 had a better world then I'd prefer it because I believe it has the best boss roster of the series.
