  • Iron Will is still usable. In typical play it's still very difficult to hear survivors using it, especially with chase music playing, and I'm pretty sure it reduces the range you're audible at all, too.

I've only once ever managed to successfully loot a key and escape through the hatch after it was shut, but it was incredibly satisfying.

Pop? I thought that Clown's dlc is also not free for the console players. I am ps5 user and I had to buy that dlc seperately.

I bought DbD on Switch and I got Clown and Kate with it. I got everything up to Spirit and Adam's chapter when I bought the game.

  • Oni has always felt like a pubstomper, I despise playing against him.

  • It would be a great thing to do, but then new players wouldn't feel pressured to pay BHVR money to get better perks, so it's not going to happen.

  • Dredge is one of my favorite killers in the game but he is, frankly, a mess to play as. He needs work. Trickster is getting a whole slew of overtuned buffs, surely they can spare a little attention for Dredge.

  • The only thing I appreciate about Quentin is being able to make a survivor team of him, Laurie, Nancy, and Steve so you can create the TEEN SQUAD.

  • Tucker and Dale from Tucker and Dale vs. Evil would be great picks too. They could share a survivor slot, like Legion does.

You should see DOOM (2016) on Switch. Amazing how good that looks. Shockingly good.

Warframe ran pretty well too. It wasn't as pretty as the other versions, no, but it had a solid framerate for the majority of the time I played it, and that game has a lot more complicated stuff going on than DbD.

The only reason DbD runs as poorly as it does is because it's coded poorly and for years BHVR has focused more on adding new content over fixing the game's problems, which has made the problems so bad that fixing them is a monumental effort now.

Whenever my mains (Kate, Jill and Mikaela) are not getting new costumes, i am keeping my money for myself. They can release countless Feng and Meg costumes but who cares? But most likely so much people are playing them, so they are getting costumes so much.

I wish they just slow-down with giving costumes to these 2, like they beat everyone else with costume numbers.

Kate and Mikaela get new cosmetics constantly too. Feng and Meg only have slightly more cosmetics than Kate does, and she has more than Jake, David, and Ace do. Mikaela has more cosmetics than Jeff, who came out years earlier. They're nowhere near as neglected as other characters.

I feel so heartbroken right now. I put 4,100 hours in but I can't do this anymore.

If I'm a Survivor and we go to certain maps, I'm detrimental to my teammates because the game slows down so much that you are likely to miss skill checks easily.

It burns thinking I could have bought a PS5 with the money I've spent on this game alone 😔

Yeah, we're screwed. I've spent less than $100 but I still feel ripped off. BHVR has burned me too many times now with disappointing chapters, bad design decisions, bugs new and old going unacknowledged, and worst of all the constant worsening of the game's performance. I'm going to think more than twice about giving them money from now on.

  • I've been playing for almost a year now, and even within that time, I feel like scratchmarks have become more inconsistent and harder to see. Something feels up with them and I don't know if it's lag, glitches, or shadow nerfs.

With format I meant the way the texts are formatted (or something like that, I am not a native English speaker and sometimes I confuse myself)

Here is the official answer and I think they already have changed it? Though I actually haven’t paid that much attention tbh

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/NGKLAEXGA1GQ/img-7606.jpeg

I'm not sure I understand what that means. It sounds like they just want to put all descriptions through standard templates so they can write them with less effort? But that will make everything sound boring, bland, and samey...like they do now. I don't like the sound of that.

  • @Mooks said:

This has been adressed in the latest Reddit AMA and they have gone back to the older format (well or at least not as bad as it was couple weeks ago)

I don't browse Reddit so I know nothing of that. Older format? It's not a question of format, it's BHVR making cosmetic sets where Jake wears a coat and the description is "He wore a coat because it was cold." Cosmetics and Tomes are the only way to reflect these characters' personalities. Come on BHVR, you can do better, you HAVE done better for 6 years.

So, I hope you're right. As it stands now, the descriptions read like they got an AI writing them, there's no nuance or humor or anything. I don't even care that much about lore, but seeing an absence of flavor where it previously used to be has been bothering me.

  • @not_requested49 said:

Is this really what people care about?

I'm more concerned about how the cosmetics' flavor text has become blander than cardboard ever since Tools of Torment came out. We all have different priorities.

  • Who ever successfully used Lightburn on Nurse? It was borderline suicidal to try. It charges too fast and recharges too fast.

  • I wish he wasn't slowed down while using his M2.

Making it a Hex would also help complement Artist's adept by having something that can potentially synergize with pentimento when trying to do it. It generally suck's doing an Adept where your running less than 3 perks because the odd's of them being usable require perk's outside of the adept set.

Outside of that though, i think a simpler change of making all survivor's auras visible for the 40 second duration and not just the obesession would make the perk more useful and enticing to player's, since the main issue when using Grim Embrace is needing another perk to find someone during those 40 seconds, usually because the obsession was hooked last or is running Distortion. Not finding someone during that time sort of defeats having the blocking effect when you could run any other perk and having to run a aura reveal perk just to possibly make Grim Embrace better just feel's like wasting 2 slots for what is effectivly going to be one chase. Alternativly have the obsession change every few seconds throughout the duration of it's activation while revealing there aura for that time they are the obsession until it deactivates.

I personally would think it would be more interesting than a 2 minute lockdown tied to a Hex. But maybe more perks like this are needed so player's will actually cleanse dull totem's to avoid them from activly taking effect.

Your point about finding survivors is valid. I always thought it should be flipped, revealing the auras of everyone except the Obsession.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/397153/crazy-rework-idea-for-grim-embrace

I feel like it would need something else the survivors can do to counter it since some killers could legit just proxy camp the totem for 2 minutes, especially if it is in a really good spot. If you had a totem build as well etc or even just undying, the amount of game delay and pay off would be absurd. The camping thing I am not even saying is op or anything but it does let the killer hold the game hostage for a guaranteed 2 minutes which I think is not a healthy thing. You need to reduce the time on it or have something else going on.

Also if you did kill a guy and hooked the other 3 and activated this perk, it would literally end the game right there, especially with the right build since the amount of pressure you get would be insane and in most cases teams would probably not be able to come back.

The above said, I do like the idea and I think a buff in this direction is good because it does encourage hooking multiple people and a perk with such a requirement does need to be strong to justify it.

Maybe 120 seconds is a little too much, maybe just 90 seconds is better. Still a significant chunk of time.

    Thank you for the feedback.

  • I think I've also had experiences where I could not drop the mirror. I'm not sure if it's intentional or not.

  • Why leave your generator to go help your teammate when they can just pick themselves back up on their own, guaranteed? More genrushes ahoy.

There would also be a massive increase of running to the comp corner or other areas far from hooks where a killer can't reach a hook in time. Force the killer to slug you, then completely ignore the pressure it's supposed to create. More sabo squads ahoy.

No, a basekit Unbreakable, even in a weakened form, would do nothing but make this game worse overall.

STBFL is currently only "counter" against endurance. It's not really a surprise to see more of it, because there is more endurance effects.

We can't nerf FTP+Buckle Up for whatever reason, but STBFL (one of the few things that can counter FTP+BU sometimes) has to go!

Yeah another Silent Hill chapter would be nice.

    and also Bioshock 😉

Big Sister as killer + Rapture as map

Idk who the survivor could be?

That one guy who gets killed outside the bathysphere at the start of Bioshock 1 when you first arrive in Rapture.

    Alternatively, Tanenbaum or Sinclair.

  • Enough people have used "GG" in an ironic patronizing way for enough years that I don't view it as a genuine statement anymore.

I'll break it down into baby steps since everyone on this forum likes things spoonfed and can't understand a simple situation.

You have an ACTIVATED TICKING TRAP on your head

    pig chases you in stealth

You've done the first 3 trap removal machines before she arrived and they haven't taken the trap off and the other 2 are across the map

    pig chases you in stealth

You run away and she still follows and the timer is STILL going

You DON'T HAVE TIME to lose the pig with 30s left on the trap timer

Pig follows and harasses you on the 4th trap removal machine from stealth

You have to stick the machine because of timer, you can't run to lose the pig because of her in stealth giving NO PAUSE TIMER

    = DEAD

Not everything is a damn skill issue man. Stop being so conceited. A design flaw is a design flaw and unless it's addressed it will be exploited and abused. I haven't even mentioned any add-ons for her yet either.

If the Pig downed you and hooked you like normal in this situation, you still wouldn't have enough time to run across the map and take the trap off, you'd be dead either way. That's assuming she wouldn't patrol the Jigsaw boxes to down you there, too, instead of following you around. The Pig's power is to put survivors in bad situations and then take advantage of the opportunities that arise. Your counterplay is to not get caught in those situations in the first place through smart decisions and, hopefully, smart teamplay. Blame your teammates for doing gens instead of giving time to get the trap off.

Call me conceited if you want, but it doesn't change anything. The Pig is already one of the weakest killers in the game, she doesn't need even more safety padding.

  • This issue does make Scene Partner troublesome to use sometimes, the screams from your own perk interrupt your own actions which can be very unhelpful depending on the situation.

  • If you can't escape a Pig while she's permanently crouched then I don't know what to tell you.

  • I'd like more maps for Resident Evil and Silent Hill, but not more characters. Resident Evil is thoroughly covered by now with 2 killers, 4 survivors, and several Legendary skins. Same for Silent Hill, which doesn't have any other solid Killer options and already has plenty of Legendary skins; though I think it was a mistake making James a skin instead of his own character.

I'd like Halloween Part 2, I want a playable Dr. Loomis. I also really want an Alien Part 2, i.e. an Aliens chapter that would give us a Hadley's Hope map and a playable Colonial Marine survivor like Hicks or Hudson.

Have you tried Light-Footed with Balanced Landing? Probably not the best combo, but having both no stagger duration, a quiet fall and no footsteps has worked more time than I thought it would

Combine it with Quick & Quiet and vault into drops and you will vanish.

  • I like this idea. Have it in both personal and group versions, like BP offerings.

The grind needs to be cut down, in several ways. This should be one of them.

  • Worst is Freddy. But the runner-up is Pyramid Head. Great chase music but his power just doesn't feel appropriate. Doesn't look good either. It all feels shallow. At least the sound of him swinging his Great Knife is good.

Best, probably Michael Myers or Ghost Face. Though Ghost Face isn't any one from the movies, he still reflects a lot of the personalities that the movies showed off. Michael Myers needs a rework for his power but his presentation is spot-on...except maybe that goofy UAGH noise he does when stunned.

  • Sprint Burst and Lithe are fine.

This thread feels like it's fishing for us vs. them arguments, as if these forums don't have enough of those already.

  • As I've said in other threads, I want to branch out to more video game properties. My top picks are Alan Wake and Frank West for survivors. They don't come with good killers but they have good material for new maps as well, as unprecedented as it would be to have a survivor + map only chapter.

  • Sadako is very unenjoyable to play against. If you can grab a tape at the start of the trial, you're fine for a while. If you can't, you're not fine, because other survivors are also grabbing tapes, and Sadako is teleporting to TVs which disables them so there's less tapes for you to grab, so you're running around the map looking for a TV that hasn't been turned off. If survivors are also trying to get rid of stacks of Condemned then they're turning off even more TVs and you're still running in circles looking for them. And then you finally reach a TV only for Sadako to pop out and smack you in the face. Oh and she's probably running the add-on that spreads Condemned for healing, maybe even doing the old slugging strategy, so that makes it even worse.

It's an awful experience, not fun or interesting at all, it just feels like a slog.

  • Resident Evil 6 is not a well-remembered game but it had some good outfits to draw from. There's also the Chronicles and Revelations games, they're spin-offs but they had nice outfits too.

If they look to the CGI movies and TV shows, that's even more potential cosmetics.

  • Chucky only recognizes Ashley Williams and Nicholas Cage because they're depicted with the likeness of and played by their actual real-life actors.

  • @Halloulle said:

no rework needed. Some tweaks though.

For a while Sandra and Norman also seemed pretty smart - recently they seem to have become dumber again. When you play as Nemisis you often underestimate just how disrupting zombies can be. They should make up for his non-existent map mobility - and they absolutely can... though atm it seems to be more of a coinflip if they actually do. If the map is large enough or too difficult for zombies to traverse there goes your passive pressure.

So I'd say make then gravitate toward survivors naturally (so they don't chill in an area where no one is, was or will be) and I'd say one zombie per x square meters traversable area should spawn, the base being dead dawg spawning two.

Knight's Guards, which I think use similar AI, have also been busted for a while. Don't know what happened but BHVR needs to fix it.

  • The loud noise notification for taking someone out of a cage should be removed.

  • Rancor is useful for the "Kill a survivor yourself" daily ritual, helps save on using Mori offerings.

  • They could, but neither seems very interesting. If I wanted another killer robot, I'd pick The Terminator.

  • Increasing the speed was one thing, I can get behind ZOOM like it does now, but increasing the duration was probably a mistake.

  • Dwight Hamfield.

  • Most killers are universally disliked by survivors. They'll always make an excuse to insult you. If it's not your killer, it's your perks, and if it's not your perks, it's your playstyle, and so on. Just play what you want.

Personally I think Knight is fun as hell but I don't play him often because his power is also glitchy as hell and too frustrating to deal with sometimes. Regardless, I don't care if he's "unfun" or "no skill", I like the tactical decision-making he requires, and it's satisfying how much chaos he can cause.

  • Best I can think of is Uma Therman.

But I'd rather not have any more real-life people in DbD...unless they somehow convinced John Carpenter to be a survivor. I think that's the only exception I'd make.

  • @Thusly_Boned said:

In theory, I never had any problem with Chucky being in DBD; he's an icon of the genre (maybe more comedy horror, but still an icon).

My reservations were all around how he could be implemented in the game, and whether he could be done justice. I just didn't want to see another shell of an icon added just for the sake of adding a name (like Freddy).

I never even considered BHVR would do something unprecedented like add a third person perspective killer (which is really what makes it work), and they surprised me. I'm happy to have my concerns be relieved.

I don't know how strong or weak he'll end up being, but the uniqueness of his implementation and the voice lines/trash talking alone are worth the price of admission. It's hilarious and totally on brand.

And all of this makes me even sadder we don't have the loud, bombastic, trash talking, Robert Englund Freddy Krueger. Such a waste.

I feel exactly the same. I was against Chucky being in DbD because I didn't trust BHVR to implement him in a way that was fun, but I never expected they'd have the guts to make him a 3rd-person killer like they did. I'm glad they did because it looks like it works well enough, and his power is fitting and entertaining. And I absolutely love his voicelines, they got the actor for them and there's so damn many and they're all hilarious and fitting. I really respect Chucky's actor, he's been performing the role for decades and he hasn't skipped a beat.

I also agree that Chucky reminds me of how poorly Freddy Kreuger was handled by comparison. It's like night and day.

I only really hate her design and lore. Personally I have no problems going against her now knowing how to deal with her drones and accepting when to take the L.

I'd still like her haste bonuses removed though. I think she has enough now with the hindered and injure/deep wound mechanic.

I'd be fine with losing the Haste buff, but I want them to bring back survivors having to manually remove the claw traps again.

Agreed on the first part, still think her design and lore are bad, maybe the worst in the game, but at least she's fun to play as now and that's what's most important.

HAHA.. I've just been playing on the Predator thing for weeks. Predator would be an honest stretch lore wise as they only "hunt" or "kill" for sport. The Survivors are unarmed so Predator would have no reason to even go after them. xD

Lore hasn't stopped killers from being included before. Nemesis, Pyramid Head, Pinhead, Sadako, Wesker...

1 … 32 33 34 35 36 … 55
