  • I think making him 4.6 m/s is a mistake but we'll see. I hate playing against Trickster and I'm going to hate seeing more of him and buffed too.

Only for Monstrous Shrine, since all other scourge hooks only affects 4 normal hooks.

In case of the monstrous shrine, it affects 4 random hooks + basement, but other scourge hook perks don't trigger in the basement. HOWEVER, I tested this when the perk received the buff and never since. I also never seen any Pain Resonance being triggered by the basement hook (although monstrous shrine by itself is already rare). Unless it was a bug at that time. Definitely something to test now.

It must have been a bug, because I tested it with bots and I could get Pain Resonance and Floods of Rage to proc off of the basement hooks thanks to Monstrous Shrine.

Monstrous Shrine turns the basement hooks into scourge hooks and they operate the same as the regular four scourge hooks.

  • Yes it does? It says so right there on the wiki. It's been that way for over a year now.

  • Ace and David, because their screams are so manly yet goofy.

Monstrous Shrine: all scourge hooks perks also apply to basement

Red Herring: teammates see the perk icon in the lower corner when the perk is active and the highlighted gen as well. When the killer kicks the gen, all survivors see their aura for 5 seconds.

Monstrous Shrine: all scourge hooks perks also apply to basement

    It already does that.

That's what killers do when they get their ######### pushed in, they quit. 3 gens pop without a down and just freeze and wait for the DC. While solo surivivor DCs are more commone you can always see a killer DC coming. Most killers just refuse to play when they aren't handed a free win.

Wanting a hook before 3 gens is considered a free win, now?

  • @Crowman said:

The skill check is fine, though I personally think overcharge shouldn't still trigger the skillcheck after the gen is fully regressed.

That would be a nice change, deactivating Overcharge once the generator hits 0.

  • My only problem with Overcharge is when the game's performance dips so low that hitting the check becomes near impossible. Sometimes the arrow just skips straight over the success zone.

it is objectively the funniest perk in the entire video game

Especially on those occasions where it activates four or five times in a row.

Put it on a survivor with a funny scream like Ace or David and you're in for a good time.

  • I have no idea what you're talking about.

  • Considering how much it's destroying my game's performance, I'd rather not.

  • @averagemikaelamain said:

We had this Buckle Up. It was ass.

Then revert back to it and make it not-ass because right now this perk is stupid. Increase Haste. Increase duration. Apply to both survivors. Don't care which, just not this.

  • @Crowman said:

We have perks to guarantee med-kits, flashlights, and toolboxes from chest. We don't really need survivors reliably pulling the item they want with 2x charges.

Pharmacy would need tweaking, yes. But Residual Manifest and Scavenger can only get those items via rummaging, which could be made the exception to this idea. Apply the same to Appraisal for good measure.

Personally I wish Ace in the Hole was made partially basekit, which all chest items having a low chance to spawn with add-ons, usually only one (rarely two) and mostly common add-ons. Tie Luck to it because that does nothing except affect self-unhooking and that's disappointingly niche. Then make Ace in the Hole greatly increase the Luck tied to opening chests, while Up the Ante increases Luck tied to self-unhooking, and Luck Offerings affect both.

  • I think people only hate Ultimate Weapon because it makes itself obvious. You scream, killer finds you, downs you, you angrily shake your fist because you know Ultimate Weapon helped them do it. But if it was an aura perk like BBQ or Nowhere to Hide, you might not notice its existence at all so you don't think about it, and you don't hop online to make angry posts about it.

  • Cloud games are games where you download and unload the game as you are playing it, instead of installing the entire thing all at once. You're playing chunks, downloading the next chunk and unloading the previous chunk as you go. When those servers go down, you won't be able to play those games anymore at all because they rely on the servers to exist at all.

DbD is an online multiplayer game but you download the entire thing and have it on your Switch. It relies on servers to be played, because it's online, but years from now when DbD servers don't exist anymore, the game will still exist on your system.

  • Could be trying to do "blind the killer" tome challenges and not willing to play out a whole game unable to do that. I've been there. Haven't DC'd over it but it's a bummer.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/395354/lobby-dodge-rates-from-last-20-games

I got dodged 3 times in a row. So, now I'm entering the lobby as a P3 and swapping to my p100 at the last second. I have only had one Survivor and one killer ditch the game during the loading screen so far.

There are only two types I lobby-dodge: TTVs, and teams who do this. The loadout should lock at the last 10 seconds, not 5.

Funnily, in my recent experiences, I've been seeing survivors with high prestige do last-second swaps to lower prestige survivors. Not sure why. Otherwise, things have been normal. I feel like the disabled prestige test was just a waste of time.

  • It is possible for hackers and other unsavory types to blast the server to nuke the game because they're losing.

  • That gave me the last Iri Shards I needed to buy Twins at 50% off, and now I finally own all the characters in the game. Thank you.

  • It's fair because you got caught and put on a hook at the end of the game and nobody saved you so you died, which is how the game works and has always worked. You don't become immune to losing just because you touched the generators a lot or were nice to your teammates. That's not how DbD works. Better luck next time.

  • Knight has always been the jankiest, most poorly-coded killer in the game (except maybe Twins). They really need to go back to him and rework him, not in design but in pure functionality. The Otz video really highlights just how weird and frustrating his implementation is.

Which sucks because his Halloween cosmetic is awesome and I like the Knight's power, but he feels terrible to play because of how unwieldy and unreliable his power is. And also he's pretty much countered by MFT's existence.

    What're you on about?

Are you talking about the visual terror radius? Because that's no different from the aural one.

Yes it is. Sounds can be covered up or not noticed. They can be quiet or ambiguous. A giant blinking red light on your character? Extremely noticeable, no room for ambiguity, it is more reliable and more practical than the audible terror radius. It's why every major content creator uses it despite few of them being hard of hearing.

  • Why are you calling them killer-bots? Are you pretending that killer players aren't real people?

  • Thantaphobia definitely needs to stop being as backloaded as it is now. I'd prefer a flat 4% penalty per injured survivor, with an additional 4% if all survivors are injured.

  • I think it's really bad, on both sides. I'm tired of Resilience and MFT and Windows and Adrenaline. I'm tired of Pain Res and PGTW and Sloppy and Lethal.

This game is much more interesting when you're experiencing and interacting with a wide variety of perks. When it's the same thing over and over, it definitely feels like it, and it's boring.

  • It's a Halloween outfit, not a Blighted outfit.

It does look fantastic, though. An exposed beating heart and a burning cape, and the sword had devil wings on it.

  • Any Means Necessary is OP because it lets you bully Nemesis's zombies with minimal downside. Very cruel.

  • @lav3 said:

The combo makes me think 8 tokens of STBFL and Alc Ring are very fine.

"Maybe we deserve Nurse and Blight" is a thought that occasionally runs through my head when dealing with certain survivor teams.

  • @IamFran said:

That perk is unhealthy only if a full premade decide to use it and put an offering for playing in a map with problematic hook spawns like RPD. I've never seen this happening tbh.

I've experienced it. One of the worst matches I ever had.

  • It's gotten horrific. I was playing killer matches today to do the tome challenges and it felt like pulling teeth having to fight through the choppy framerate. Every time you think it's getting better, that they're actually bothering to optimize it, another update rolls out and it's awful all over again.

Switch is plenty strong enough to run complex games, it just needs work put into it. I played Warframe on this thing and it worked fine, because they put in the effort to make it work.

well in most cases i get value from killers who decided they were going to slug 3 people while looking for the 4th. this happens quite often too. I main killer as i've said on this forum several times and have zero problem with buckle up + made for this. I also very rarely come across this combo for it to be a problem. 90% of the time survivors go for flashlight saves and instead.

I've only ever encountered it as one survivor running in to ninja a heal right as I get a down, and then all I can do is either try to wait out the 10 seconds Endurance (during which they will probably reach another tile to loop) or hit them through the Endurance (after which they will probably reach another tile to loop).

At this point I'm getting the impression that killer committing to a chase, ever, is always the wrong play.

  • I've met all three over the past few days. But I don't know any content creators who main them.

  • @RoastedGarlic said:

its the best anti tunnel method we have, I'm going to use it. If a killer doesn't tunnel I won't be sweaty and use it, but the second a killer starts tunneling i'm ready to try and make the killer regret it. I recognize that I'm just one person but ftp + buckle up doesn't need changes until bhvr addresses tunneling which should've been addressed before camping.

Funny, because FTP + Buckle up causes me to tunnel people. Tunnel the survivor they're saving, then tunnel them. Because if they're going to nullify the only pressure killer has, I may as well throw the rest of the game out the window and focus entirely on killing them. While enduring flashlights and teabags the whole time, of course.

This combo is ridiculous. Its only counter is to keep the entire team injured, which only a few killers can do semi-reliably. Or never down a survivor unless you're certain no other survivors are around, which is also nigh-impossible. Everyone else just gets screwed because we have to have a dozen Endurance perks in the game that all last 10 seconds for some reason. Funny that Soul Guard is the most difficult one to use but it has the shortest duration at 8 seconds.

Second chance implies you were given a first chance to begin with, which is comedically false in the case of tunneling. Personally I have it so ingrained into me to chase the rescuer, there are times I incidentally hit an OTR without realizing it because I'm just trying to clear the heal under Scourge Hook for the person I'm currently carrying.

The problem here, is anti-tunnel Endurance is the same as all other forms of Endurance, which shouldn't be the case. If a Killer hits into BT, the Survivor loses OTR or DH if they had them. Anti-tunnel Endurance should either A: not Deep Wound, or B: work even while Deep Wounded (or C: both). This way BT properly stacks with OTR, and in the case of A (and C), can be further stacked with DH or a Styptic.

Yes, make survivors bodyblocking off hook even more powerful. Bring back Endurance stacking! Make the killer have to hit you three times just to get through doorways and chase your teammates!

  • It's an ambitious event and I appreciate that. I think it requires going too far out of your way from the basic gameplay to engage with, for somewhat okay BP rewards, but it's fun if you don't care about the usual objectives. The new Halloween cosmetics are good too, the Void costumes are cool.

Making a shop with unique event currency is a neat idea, though waiting for the next page of the event tome to open to earn more has been dull.

Tying a Halloween item to buying Auric Cells is scummy.

  • Yes, Pig is terrible. You are better off playing a different killer.

I do not know how feasible it is that bhvr changes him but if they do they need to do something else with tormented as the fact that cages do not proc bt and so on its the only good thing they provide, without that if you do not change or add anything to cages, tormented becomes an useless status effect and there would be no reason to cage anyone.

The reason to cage survivors is because it's faster than hooking, prevents survivors from saving them mid-carry, and denies survivors perks that function off of being hooked/unhooked.

  • I'd rather have an original DbD chapter with a ghost pirate, that would be more fitting than Disney's wacky swashbuckling high seas adventures.

  • I'm sad there's no Iridescent Shards for rewards, especially since Survivors and Killers are 50% off for the event, but Rift Fragments are appreciated.

  • @ConcernedPlayer said:

The number of hooks is fine. Some maps need more. None need less. You are not meant to ever wiggle out on your own unless the killer decides to take you somewhere super far. The primary reason wiggle exists is so a killer can’t always take every single survivor to the basement from anywhere on the map. One single hook sabotage or hit taken is not supposed to get you a wiggle out. The killer earned a down, it is difficult to undo that on purpose.

You need a specific item or readied perk while also being in the right place and angle at the right time, an unblocked undropped pallet to be there and the downed survivor to be there and the killer to pick up on it while you’re close enough to drop it in time, or a combination of hits taken/hooks sabotaged/hooks destroyed/badly and problematically designed map RNG missing hooks in needed areas.

If it’s easy to prevent hooks, killers would just slug instead. And if it’s easy to prevent hooks, that punishes the killer for succeeding.

And if it was easy to prevent hooks, survivors would be running Unbreakable and No Mither, so even slugging wouldn't work anymore. Then the game would be completely unplayable. I've already dealt with that example too, against bully squads on maps with poor hook spawns. It's a pretty awful experience.

  • These are solid ideas, nothing strikes me as egregiously unbalanced. I especially like the proposal of guards cutting off a chase to break a pallet the chased survivor drops, because it allows Knight to be an effective anti-pallet Killer while giving survivors more counterplay to his power aside from holding W or looping around to grab the Standard. I would really like to see that implemented.

  • I can second Dredge. I don't know if I can call Deathslinger's creepy, but it does feel intense for me.

  • She's great at destroying uncoordinated SoloQ players who struggle to find TVs, and that's about it. Not enjoyable to play against at all.

  • I do think most of Deathslinger's add-ons are both boring and non-impactful, he does need an add-on pass.

Myers can't Stalk in the Void, but if he's already Tier III before entering the portal, it carries over to the Void.

That would be fine if turrets would be actually doing their job. Run that green add-on (emergency helmet), and you can run into a turret, get blasted, take it out and still be in crawler mode. But the turrets, even well placed ones, don't do that half of the time. And you also need to account for most players being solo and thus not coordinated.

And to other people in this thread: Oh, and the only thing they "nerfed" was actually a bug fix. His M2 did not have a cool down period which it was supposed to have. I am sorry Behaviour took away y'all's broken toy.

Incorrect. They fixed a bug that wasn't applying slowdown, and then drastically increased the slowdown on top of that.

  • Sadako feels like she's just a pubstomper. SoloQ is weaker against all killers but I feel like Sadako is especially bad due to how the TVs work. Especially when they're running Ring Drawing, which most do.
