Skull Merchant’s.
It has little focus on her as a person and just tries to list all of these things she is or has done without any real substance.
She’s smart, did SHE maker her drones?
She’s manipulative and cunning, did she get others to make them for her?
She’s mega rich. How did she make so much money from a Brazilian manga website???
Her dad just disappeared, something that really didn’t change much in the long term other than “I want to make him proud and make his work mean something”.
She hunts her competition, how has no one noticed the pattern of her business takeovers and her rivals dying left and right?
Too many questions, and her tome didn’t do much to expand her character past what we knew about her.
Funnily enough, I still enjoyed it, somehow. Not everything has to be the next best selling novel, but it was different to anything we currently have.
Personally, I loathe Skull Merchant's lore. She feels like short-sighted pandering rather than a real character. Not only does she have all the problems you mentioned it, the lore doesn't even detail what her father's manga was and why it inspired her so much, which is one of the most integral parts of her character.
I can accept that she's just a ruthless psychopathic genius with an apex predator complex, fine. But how did she make so much money? Where did she get her technology from? What was her father's dark manga? There's too many unanswered questions. The lore theory I made up in my head after seeing her reveal trailer and perk descriptions was more coherent than what we got.
-
Same here too, seems to be a multi-platform problem.
-
I think she's more fun now to play as and against. I don't care if she's better or worse now, old Skull Merchant was an abomination of killer design and deserved to be scrapped.
-
Yes, seriously. DRG does have paid cosmetic packs but these are cheap compared to DbD's $15 for 1 skin, and they transparently exist as a way for loyal players to pay more money to the devs to keep the game developing. There are still plenty, PLENTY of cosmetics to earn just by playing the game normally, and the rewards expand further with every season they do.
DbD would be a lot better about this stuff compared to other games too, if Iri Shards weren't such an agonizing grind.
-
Still too red.
-
Corporate exploitation of any kind is not okay, no matter how much you try to justify it as "not that bad."
And to the people saying DbD has the best battle pass, you know whose battle pass is better? Deep Rock Galactic. Wanna know why? Because it's free, and all unearned rewards are immediately dropped into normal reward tables when the battle pass ends.
-
I agree with two sentiments:
- The upgraded Hemorrhage from Sloppy should be removed, just make it regular Hemorrhage.
- The healing regression caused by Hemorrhage should only take effect when the survivor is running. Staying still, walking, or crouching shouldn't regress it, so that it does not invalidate Solidarity, Resurgence, and Reactive Healing like it does now; those perks don't need to be countered that hard.
Other than that, Sloppy Butcher is fine. It's a good perk for M1 killers, and M1 killers need good perks. You have plenty of healing perks and tools to use, so use them.
-
I like Ormond, just wish it went back to nighttime.
-
I think I suggested this exact thing back during the Alien PTB, still a little disappointed it wasn't made.
-
Had a Blight who hacked himself to have Compound 33 without having it equipped, and a Leatherface with instant-charging chainsaw. And I am starting to think more survivors are using tiny speedhacks because MFT's existence helps hide it; you don't question survivors being slightly faster because we've gotten used to it, but then they don't have the perk in the endgame screen.
I worry this is going to become an escalating problem.
-
It also hit me that they also left out Nea, the only Nordic woman, who hails directly from a Nordic country.
Not included in the Nordic fashion.

Where is the preview?
It's in the news section on DbD's website.

If playing killer is meaning bad side, then i am bad side as well.
Nice assume tho.
The assumptions started with you.

Then when one survivor dies, PR loses all tokens as well.
So this perk won't be backup for tunneller killers, if you want to get full value, go for different survivors.
Are you support that or you just care about killer exp only?
Sure, go for it, I don't care about Pain Res.
Nice try at some sort of "YOU PLAY BAD SIDE, YOU NOT ALLOWED OPINION" gotcha moment, though.

Survivors wouldn't enjoy playing against bots much more than killers do. And from what I've seen most killers aren't too thrilled about that. After all, bots don't have the human component to them. The always play the same and you know exactly what loops you can mind game against them and how. That gets old after a while.
We already had periods of time where survivor queue times were insanely long. If I remember correctly this happened some time before the introduction of MMR, then around the time they introduced MMR and later when they "fixed" DH and hit validation. You could queue up as killer at any given time and the moment you hit the button, you'd already be in a lobby. Meanwhile, survivors had to wait forever. I remember one time I wanted to play a game of solo queue (I believe that was before MMR) and I had to wait more than 20 minutes.
So there is precedent for something like this.
Survivors wouldn't enjoy playing against bots much more than killers do.
If they were easy to beat, I think they would. And if they aren't notified the killer is a bot during the match, I doubt they would notice until the results screen.

That adrenaline change is garbage
Adrenaline is an unhealthy perk that enables genrushing. The delayed heal is nonsense that deserves to be removed. I'd love to remove the heal from injured to healthy entirely so that survivors can't just crank out gens to negate the pressure that's supposed to stop them from cranking out gens.

Mostly, I'd add WIndows of Oppertunity which has consistently been the most used perk in the entire game for a long time, even when Dead Hard was in it's pre-nerf state, I think it should go back to having a cool-down but survivors seem to take having passive perfect knowledge of loops (With zero cooldown) for granted now.
Also Resilience shouldn't have a vault speed bonus, don't think survivors should get a vault speed bonus in general and the perk already does a lot of other things already.
Agreed on both. Survivors don't need a buff to vault speeds, that's what the whole slow/medium/fast vault distinctions are for.
-
Slapping Haste onto killer powers is just an extremely lazy "fix" that doesn't tackle their actual problems, and it seems BHVR is extending it to old killers now too. Look forward to Freddy gaining 2% Haste every time a survivor steps on a dream snare, I guess.
@GentlemanFridge said:
It may help a little bit, but it feels out of place.
I still think doing the opposite, applying a hindered penalty on a trapped survivor, would make more sense and would make him at least a bit more consistent.
I agree, I've long thought the beartraps should apply hindered when a survivor is freed from them. At least make it an add-on.
-
Feng Min mains will die if their kawaii uguu epic gamer girl doesn't get a skin every 2 months. It's BHVR's duty to keep them alive (and spending money).
But seriously, I am glad to see Dredge and Adam in there. Though I think Adam's is pretty tacky, I don't like these outfits of SUPER BRIGHT COLORS that they've been releasing lately.

BHVR may be slow and not always focused on the same things as their customers but they aren't stupid. They know that this game cannot survive without enough people playing both sides. And we have seen their willingness to go to extreme measures, if needed. 6.1.0 was more than just a little extra speed to breaking pallets.
They won't have a choice but to do something to give more agency to killers down the line. If they don't, then the killer role becomes genuinely unfun and this could very well kill the game. Survivors wouldn't be happy playing against bots or waiting for 15 minutes to get into a match either.
BHVR may be slow and not always focused on the same things as their customers but they aren't stupid.
You say that, but then I remember Endurance used to stack.
Most popular content creators are killer mains, and so long as they remain popular, there will be enough people trying to be them playing killer. Not to mention there's always a hardcore demographic of players who have invested too much into the game to quit playing, no matter what. All BHVR has to worry about is keeping those killer players in, and it'll keep the game afloat. The casual killer player doesn't matter to them, they don't care about bleeding those numbers, because they aren't worth as much money.
Also I think survivors would be more receptive to killer bots than you think. It'd be a fix for those lengthy queue times, if they ever happened.
-
Killer bots would be a great idea. Instead of backfilling newbie killers against survivor squads with 1000+ hours, just give those survivors a bot. They get to dunk on an idiot for 10 minutes and teabag at the exit gates, and no actual human has to suffer the other side of it. Then, hopefully, the newbie killers get matched against survivors of roughly equal skill and get to actually enjoy the game. Everyone wins.
-
Can't have honesty in this game. Sorry but they'll never add that feature.
-
I've been noticing killers cheating too. I encountered a Bight who had the pallet-breaking power of Compound 33 but didn't have it equipped. After that, had a Leatherface who instantly recharged his chainsaw after breaking pallets despite having an add-on that increased the charge time.
Another thing I hate about Made For This is that it makes it easier for survivors to speedhack without being noticed. Then there's the teleporting, flying, and infinite flashlights.
-
Frank West from Dead Rising. Doesn't need to come with a killer but I would also love to have Willamette Mall as a map, too.
-
Unplayable on console, I regret purchasing him. Not enjoyable at all.

I wonder, if you'll be as happy when the inevitable compensation for killers comes.
Removing different strategies might not seem that bad from a survivor POV. But it will have an influence on the overall performance and enjoyment of the killer role. Which in turn will force the devs to come up with a compensation.
Inevitable? That's optimistic. If the killer experience gets worse, BHVR will ignore it and leave it to rot. Maybe you'll get a few tiny useless number increases on perks nobody cares about. Maybe you'll get another 0.0015 seconds shaved off of breaking pallets and they'll declare it "good enough".
-
It's a button that does literally nothing, just like the "Did You Have Fun?" prompt. Either make it do something or remove it. Preferably make it do something, maybe then people would feel motivated to be at least slightly nicer to other players.
-
I'm more interested in Iron Maiden. Whatever it is, it better include Jeff.

To be frank, watching the entire thing would have taken more effort than I wanted to dedicate, not to mention reflecting on even just the bits I have heard.
So let me only pick my favorite: Rapid Brutality, the perk that barely sees play besides a few low-tier m1 killers like Doctor or Clown -BUT- it may going to be a problem in the future. If it gets buffed. Or if a high-tier m1 killer releases. M-kay. Let's envision hypothetical problems, and complain preemptively! How much more far-sighted that is than complaining about problems we currently have! Let's also nerf No Mither in case suddenly Twins become hip and meta!
It makes me feel OTZ realized that he's popular enough that whatever he says will bring views and revenue, so he just talks whatever. I seriously don't even want to hear what he has to say about Shattered Hope. I'd rather like to remember him as the wise fellow who I got to know when I was a baby-killer.
I seriously don't even wanna hear what he has to say about Shattered Hope.
He says that because Boons aren't run anymore since Circle of Healing's nerf that it's a completely worthless perk when no one brings Boons (which is now often) so it has little to no reason to exist, and he suggests buffing it to be usable on Dull Totems for one-time aura reads but not synergize with Pentimento.

All hexes when broken will have a loud noise notification for survivors to see. Very rarely do you actually have to worry about survivors cleansing dulls for pentimento.
I don't think it's reasonable to expect survivors to memorize where Hex Totems have been broken through a very vague notification system while they're in the middle of doing other things before they even know Pentimento is in play.
-
@ARTRA said:
Usually agree but this video have a few things that seems weird to me.
Pantimento as problematic? Yeah 30% its strong dont get me wrong, for that survivors need to destroy a totem, you go light it but survivors KNOW where that totem is because it was broken a few moments ago.
Face de darkness? I can understand that pig can use that in a mean way but no way that perk its problematic.
Pentimento is yet another one of those things that's brutal on SoloQ because you don't know what totems your teammates broke and where, and vice versa. So SoloQ players will run circles around the map checking every corner, all the while their teammates are probably dying and nothing is progressing.

It’s not till Oct 18th. I’ve been playing another live service, not horror themed, that has been doing Halloween for the past 2 weeks or so. The fact that we get such a short Halloween event for a horror themed game is pretty sad.
Agreed. The event should be taking place through most of, if not the entirety of October! Why wait until the month is halfway over? The Rift is closed, there's nothing more important to do, either. Is BHVR afraid of their players having too much fun?
-
I think it's a pretty agreeable list, I can see why he'd have these opinions. Many of these parks are okay by themselves but facilitate really unhealthy plays when paired with other perks or killer powers or even just SWFs. And some of these perks are not okay at all in any context.

WHAT???
It was fine for me just before making this post.
I tried it just a few minutes after noon which is when most DbD events end, so maybe it expired then and I was literally a couple minutes too late.

that's very sad and lazy. ☹️
There's also the fact that buying chapters used to give you a whole alternate costume for the survivor as a bonus. Now they just give you a plain recolor of their standard shirt.
Survivors' Uncommon outfits in the shop also used to be wholly unique outfits, now they're just slightly fancier recolors than the Common ones.
-
I play whatever survivor I find likeable. Their sex does not matter to me, and neither do their cosmetics because I do not have hundreds of dollars to waste on virtual clothing. I go with whoever seems like a nice person whom I would root for to survive if they were in a horror movie.

I hate the game telling me I played badly when I lose due to powers completely out of my control. De-pipping is a worthless system that has no purpose but to frustrate players like me.
It has no reason to exist. It has no reason to not be removed.

Don't see him that much anymore. They got everybody to buy it and then made it less strong (as I said they would). Onto the next OP DLC killer, get your wallets ready.
Nah, I'm not buying chapters anymore. If it looks good at launch, it won't be good by next month, that's the BHVR way. Besides, there aren't any other licenses I care about.

@CorvusCorax86 said:
Well, eventually, we all get used to it don't you think? I mean Borgo used to give great visibility to killers. At least now one can hide properly. These are "new" maps and killers will probably get the hang of them.
Like how killers "got the hang of" Garden of Joy.
-
"Killer is the easiest it's ever been" is a dismissive and nonsense buzzword that's thrown around because people don't actually want to discuss problems honestly, they just want to dunk on the other side as payback for whatever nerf/buff happened in whatever patch whenever ago.
And even if it was true? It doesn't matter, because it's not about being easy, it's about being fun.
I've been playing less than a year and the game has gotten dull. The meta is awful. The matchmaking is broken. The maps are terrible. The playerbase is hateful and miserable. BHVR does nothing to address any of this. I don't like the direction the game design is going in. Playing killer sucks. Playing survivor sucks somewhat less, even in SoloQ, but it can still suck really bad. There's nothing fun to look forward to because any potential fun is throttled by the mountain of unaddressed problems that pile up higher and higher with every update.
I'll play the Halloween event but I don't know if the game will hold my attention for much longer afterwards.
-
The emblem system is just plain badly designed. It needs an overhaul.
-
If you're so good at looping, you should have no trouble outrunning the killer to the exit gates instead of begging the game to give you a freebie because "I deserve it!"
-
There really is no reason Ghostface's crouch is faster than Pig's crouch. Buff Pig to match.
-
After playing today, things still get choppy again after an hour or two of play.
-
I also see we're continuing the trend of extremely dull outfit descriptions. Some of these can't muster more than six words. I'm not expecting novels or anything but these used to have at least a little bit of wit and charm to them.
-
I'm not sure why Off The Record disables in endgame but Adrenaline can effectively give you the same thing.
