I tried playing Xeno yesterday. Fun, but the tail feels really weird now. Though it doesn't help the event has tanked console performance which makes it harder to see and aim from such a low angle.
-
Strongly agree with the Hex proposal. Hexes need a buff and working more like Plaything or Face the Darkness would help a lot.
The Mori proposal isn't bad either and could finally reward spreading hooks a little.
-
Just had a match on Midwich and the performance is so bad, it is actually borderline unplayable. The game is barely functioning.
Update: Had a match on the Nostromo Wreckage, just as bad as Midwich.

Thank you. This is handy!
In the past I've had to try to scroll through Twitter to try and find the rewards.
Twitter has become impossible to browse lately, especially for people who don't have Twitter accounts like myself. Makes looking for information and gift codes very very difficult. I hope BHVR can find other ways to announce such things.
-
I'd love to see Tucker and Dale as a 2-survivor half-chapter. Or even just both characters in a single character slot where you can switch between them like Legion. Tucker and Dale vs. Evil was a great movie and I'd love having a couple of Southern boys to play as in DbD. Kate is nice and all but I'd prefer to play as a dude, and I find her injured noises annoying.
-
They'd just run even more Adrenaline, if they aren't already anyway, so it wouldn't change much.
-
My theory is it works on a specific timer to prevent you from combining Deliverance and Renewal.
-
There have been probably a dozen, maybe more threads about this already. Yet for whatever reason, BHVR ignores it.
Removing this worthless mechanic already, it has no reason to exist. It doesn't improve any aspect of the game whatsoever, it only makes it worse. If a player has a bad match, they don't need the game adding injury to insult.
-
Not a fan of map-wide aura-reading but its range really needs a boost, bump it up to 48m - 56m.
On a side note, I also want Self-Preservation's range increased too.

I could bet with you the next Blighted skins for survivor will be: Meg, Kate, Mikaela and Vittorio
The Void skins next year will be Feng, Nea, Claudette and Felix.
Joke aside I hope the even less popular males get something for the events or rifts in the future. Ace is the oldest character who did not have a Tome yet (Edit: sry, he had), Adam and Jeff are the next and then Zarina the first female character who misses a Tome. The only other female Survivors who miss a tome are Elodie and Haddie. This tells you everything about the devs' priorities. For killer it's sadly similar. Here Deathslinger seems to be the forgotten one.
It stings that all my favorite characters are neglected. Jeff, Adam, Zarina, Deathslinger...

They should just get rid of depipping. People have been asking for this for quite some time now.
It's a small thing, but the fact it's been a thing for so long just makes it all the more embarrassing. The mechanic has no reason to exist, none whatsoever. It adds nothing, it solves nothing, it's only there to make you feel extra bad when you have an especially bad match.
-
Cross-progression doesn't exist. But Switch is excluded, yes.
-
Switch is currently running at a silky smooth 12 FPS.
It's absolutely abysmal. You know how hard it is to hit skillchecks when the arrow is only visible for 5 frames at most? Pretty dang hard.

Again. You dont need to interact with it.
Its fun for me. I like to engage with it.
Saying that its not worth having an event just because you dislike to engage with it after 3 hours, feels a bit ungrateful, dont you think?
There are more players than just you.
No, I don't think wanting the event to feel engaging and meaningful is ungrateful at all.
-
I'm on Switch, I have the same problem everyone else is having. Bought Deathslinger's and Dredge's weapons and Kate's skeleton shirt, and I have completed the first page of the event tome for the cosmetics in there. I have received no milestone points.
-
As killer, carrying Claudette in her fairy costume blocks a comically huge chunk of the screen.
-
I bought Renato with shards about a week ago. I doubt I'll be included in that, but it sure would be nice. Then I could get Thalita too, and I'd finally have every survivor unlocked.

It's an event. It's supposed to be non competetive.
If all you care about is defending gens and doing objective, then do that. Nobody is going to stop you. I like to play with the event stuff. It's different. Yes I lost games because of it. But.... It was still fun.
ESports dbd shows itself from the worst side during events I feel.
Fun for a day, maybe, but this event is running for almost 3 weeks. If I have no reason to engage with the unique event mechanics for that long, then what's the point of having the event at all?

It makes sense for a halloween costume skin. It suggests he is trick-or-treating and carrying a backpack to store all the candy he receives and the material he will use for the tricks.
Nobody except a crazy person trick-or-treats with a backpack.
-
Engaging with the event is hurting me more than helping me, for both sides.
-
I'm also having this problem. I've bought two of the cosmetics but no points so far.
-
I've watched streamers who can see Prestiges again. What's going on?

The new Blighted Cosmetics for the Onryo, Yoichi Asakawa, and the Xenomorph will be available in the in-game store on October 24th!
In the regards to the in-game event currency, go to the Event Tab, and there you will find the shop for event currency items (took a screenshot in my game really quick as an example):

The Nea and Knight cosmetics can be earned through completing the event Tome; same as event cosmetics were in previous events <3
You're supposed to get points for spending Dark Trinkets to earn the cosmetics, right? But I bought one and I didn't earn any points.
-
Who's the person on the art team that's so obsessed with backpacks?
-
The shortest path between any two points is a straight line.
Nurse goes in a straight line.
-
Being slugged for the 4K isn't the worst thing in the world. Now, being slugged so the killer can find and close the hatch, that's petty. So is letting me bleed out for the entirety of the EGC timer.

All I really care about is that I am not getting stuck in 40 minute 3 gen grind fests, and I don't start feeling very unhealthy things the second I realize I'm facing a SM, so it's a net gain for me.
Now she's just kinda there, which is totally fine with me. Better a non factor than a pox on the game.
Same. New SM is better. Good? Debatable. But not nearly as teeth-grindingly painful. I actually kind of enjoy playing her now, just dropping drones all over the map and chasing survivors around them. I'm open to more tweaks though.
-
I've been playing a goofy build of Darkness Revealed and Ultimate Weapon. Open a locker, use the aura to find another survivor, then teleport over and pop out to make them scream immediately like a super jumpscare.
-
Skull Merchant. Just have them try to crawl away, then she picks them up by the neck from behind and then stabs them. Not that weird and awkward Mori she has now with too much dead air.

It's kinda hard in terms that you don't get an immediate feedback on what you are doing wrong. In shooters/moba/something you either land a shot and get the enemy damaged or you don't, but in DbD you might never realise that you have to zone survivors towards weaker loops, for example.
It's kinda hard in terms that you don't get an immediate feedback on what you are doing wrong.
This, a thousand times this. You can do a lot of things wrong in DbD with no idea that you're doing it wrong. As killer, it is easy to lose all the generators with only 1 or 2 hooks and be left scratching your head with no idea how you could have done better. As survivor, it's hard to practice chase because when you do something wrong, you're down and on a hook and getting kicked out of the game with little understanding as to how you could have done better.
I still suck at chase because practice is difficult, and the cost of failure is not being able to play the game to practice more. A lot of skill in DbD has to be either learned from outside sources such as guides from experienced players, or intuited on your own time and effort which is REALLY difficult and time-consuming.
-
I'd rather they just diversify the medkits again, in ways that don't bring back the self-heal meta.
-
@Steakdabait said:
It's over used a lot but complaining about a killer design that there just isn't a reason to want to engage in chase with is still important feedback
I wasn't aware killers were designed for survivors to want to be chased by them.
-
I understand what you mean but I don't think I want to make the blue jeans even more blue.
I definitely agree with the sentiment that not every Deep Rift should be blue.

I generally like the goofy turkey sltihering across the map. - But given the sheer amount of Dredges the nightfall thing does get rather annoying after a while. It's great to have it every once in a while. But many times a day? Urgh. Not the cute turkey's fault tho.
That being said; I do think his nightfall needs some accessibility options where you have similarily distracting and obscuring but less psychologically disturbing sounds.
Sometimes I wonder if survivors should hear the Dredge's terror radius constantly during Nightfall, like Doctor's fake TR. Might help cover up the actual (and very loud) sounds the Dredge itself makes.
But for OP's topic, as others have said, some survivors have been forced (tragically) to play a few matches against Dredge and now the game is literally unplayable, ruined forever, nerf now, etc. etc.
-
They could at least give Ada her new outfit from RE2 remake. Maybe give Rebecca her basketball uniform too. They could also pull from other games and the animated movies as well.
-
The thing that's supposed to make things hard to see actually makes things hard to see.
Sounds like it's working as intended.

Not to rain on your parade or anything but DBD is a game. It’s supposed to be fun and interactive and yes, even entertaining.
Sadly, between the devs and this community it’s rarely any of those things anymore.
@sulaiman said:
Actually, for things i do in my personal time to relax and have fun, boring is quite a good argument. At least to not do them anymore.
It is completely impossible for every single aspect of a game to be fun and entertaining 100% of the time. Especially in a competitive game like this where both sides are trying to win with mutually exclusive victory conditions.

NGL, I do kinda make a point of unhooking a suicide on hook player if I'm in range, just to mildly annoy them.
If I see them do it as killer, and they get saved, I leave them slugged on the floor.
Then they run around dropping every pallet on the map out of spite.

It's sad that Switch is left out, especially when they said no more exclusives it was about making cosmetics available to all platforms. They said no more leaving platforms out like before when steam/pc got cosmetics that console couldn't, but here we are with Switch being left out.
Instead of needing to link platform account to BHVR account they should've only required linking the Twitch account and when you claim the drop have a code pop up on your bhvr account to enter in the in game store. With a code it would allow all platforms to participate in the drops. When Back 4 Blood had a beta WB Games opened access to it with twitch drops - you'd watch for x amount of time, when you claimed the drop you would have a code on your WB games account (along with code for couple friends) and you could enter it on whatever platform Back 4 Blood would be available on. I hope for future Twitch drops BHVR switches to having codes available on players BHVR account instead of requiring the linking to platforms.
I could get Twitch drops for Warframe just fine because the accounts were set up to not care about what platform it was on. Major content updates may have been delayed for consoles but at least we got the same stuff. Game also ran well and looked alright despite being an incredibly fast-paced action game. Wish DbD put in half the effort Warframe did for its Switch version.
-
I really hope Dredge gets any buffs. He's one of my favorite killers in terms of design, but I struggle to play him. I feel like I have no real power most of the time, teleporting is extremely unreliable and the anti-loop is difficult to utilize without tons of practice and most of the time they just leave the loop anyway.

Because those characters were better received by the player base than others. They appealed to more people than the other ones did. It would be reckless for them to ignore that and focus on the least popular characters of the game in the same way they focus on the most popular. That is not a bad thing by the way. As I said, this game exists to make profit for the company that made it. Focusing on what generates the most profit is the right decision.
Focusing on what generates the most profit is the right decision.
For a corporate drone, maybe. But none of us work for BHVR so none of us should be so concerned with how much profit they make. I don't care how much money Feng makes, I don't like her. I like other characters and I want them to get cosmetics more often.

Not enough hooks.

Unfortunately, these Twitch Drops can't be earned on Nintendo Switch - we do have more things coming this month however.
And will those things be available on Switch? Or will it be just another "so sorry, you get nothing"? If you're going to make a trend of Twitch drops but not offer any way for Switch players to participate then that's further proof that Switch players do not matter to BHVR at all. Can't even get the version to run above 20 FPS.

If Iri Shards weren't such an agonizing grind.
Funny how everyone that says "you can buy some of them with shards" forgets to mention that part
The people who say that are the ones with 5000+ hours and 20,000+ Shards that already have everything they want so they don't feel the grind anymore.
New players, however, get completely shafted.

Yo that's the thing, the clothes are ok, it's just the COLORS that bug me. I totally would have used Adam's outfit but the colors are just nasty. And Dwight's outfit is great except for the one sleeve up one sleeve down nonsense.
BTW is anyone going to mention the fact that multiple outfits from this Rift are recolors of outfits from previous Rifts? Clown, Twins, and Yun-Jin are for sure, not sure if Hillbilly's is.
Am I the only with a problem with that?
Hillbilly's is also a recolor of a Boy Scouts-themed cosmetic set.
I don't mind recolors, though I think recolors being in the paid track is questionable.
-
Wraith always gets it the worst. Does anyone actually playtest these cosmetics before they're put into the game?

Hey now, that's not fair!
Some people like bright, clashing color palettes that makes one the center of attention in any environment, ESPECIALLY blue and purple.
Some people like asymmetrical features such as wearing a single glove or having one sleeve of their shirt rolled up.
And some people really, REALLY like backpacks, giant earrings, and impractical fashion wear straight off the runway.
I'm not one of those people, and I've never met one of those people, but there must be an enormous number of people out there who enjoy these things, considering how often we see them in this game.
Who are we to question someone else's tastes and ask that the average 9 to 5 working class humans be represented?
Who are we to question someone else's tastes and ask that the average 9 to 5 working class humans be represented?
My gosh, this is all I want. I just want to dress my survivors up like human beings who buy human clothes from human stores.
In regards to the current Rift, I'm fine with the new Dwight one except for the backpack. I like the new Adam one except its colors are too bright. I like Yun-Jin's character but I can't stand her ostentatious eyesore cosmetics and the new one isn't an exception. Zarina's is fine except for that bright dyed hair and yellow jacket, not a fan.
At least they aren't as wacky and tacky as previous Rifts.

Almost everybody loves Feng, Jeff enjoyers are more rare than most other Survivors- Feng has a popular idea as her design core, the Esports Player/ Gamer. Headstrong personality. Jeff is like an Artist, uhm and he likes music, like do you know how little that says to me. Adam Francis says even less to me, a teacher in Japan okay so uhm what?
Its a problem with some Survivors not having a personality or is something that resonates with people or has sex appeal.
If a Survivor has none of those its sold dead in the water, at least Killers have a power to play if you don't like their design or story.
Like Jonah, hes a math guy, like.. hes not high on my list.
I find this comment funny because it's the opposite of my view. Jeff and Adam are some of my favorite survivors because I think they're likeable decent guys with good designs and sympathetic everyman backstories. Meanwhile I think Feng is a cringe-inducing "How do you do, fellow kids?" embarrassment of a character who only sells on sex appeal.
