The problem I have is with Nemesis and Beast of Pray — they basically revert Legion's counterplay and bring back Hold W2 win tactics. This isn't fun™ nor creative at all, it just makes him able to cheese survivors while they have no counterplay.
Here's what I'd do to make him viable while removing the cheese strategy:
- Both the survivor and the killer cannot see the Deep Wound timer, just the Deep Wound bar to indicate someone is in Deep Wounds.
- Survivor's Deep Wound timer will pause when within a 16 meter range to the killer.
- Revert mending time back to 16 seconds.
Basically, the timer is not tied to the TR anymore but to a set distance to the killer. Since the survivor nor the killer cannot see the Deep Wound timer decrease, they cannot use the timer for tracking each other. 🤗😁
Personally, that really wouldn't make him viable, since his biggest problem is that his power still sucks badly. I think he needs a complete rework from the ground up, new power and all. No matter how they buff/nerf him, he's either going too be really cheesy and unfun too fight as survivor, or really weak and unfun too play as for killers.

It was a QoL change to maintain consistency (basic attacks being BASIC ATTACKS and not the killer's power), don't think they sought to gut Legion specifically.
They probably didn't intend too nerf Legion as hard as they have, but they clearly intended too nerf Legion, which is just silly too nerf an already weak killer. Plus, with the Mending buff, it has now buffed BT too be an even stronger perk then before.

We did not change Deep Wound time just to "fix" Legion. It was an idea we came up with that could help with the Legion frustration problems, but then we evaluated it and the other ramifications it would have. We decided that it was a good idea for several reasons and went with it.
The only one in a Legion game that's frustrated is the Legion player, most survivors will just laugh at how bad he is. Instead of trying too "fix" current Legion, rework him into something viable. Put the man who reworked Freddy in charge of reworking Legion and you'll be good.
I also don't know how getting rid of Feral counting M1 hits was "frustrating" when killers like Wraith and Hag hits after using their ability does count. It's honestly no different then them running up and M1'ing you. Please revert the changes and start reworking Legion, because at this point you're just kicking him while he's down while BUFFING perks that don't need it (Borrowed is already a super strong perk, there is literally 0 reason too buff it in any form.)

I'm tired of DS/Adreinaline/Dead Hard/etc being the staple for survivors. It gets boring, but it's the meta, and we have to live with it.
This. If the Meta didn't encourage survivors too rush gens in 5 mins, then I would be more inclined too not run Ruin, BBQ, or other meta killer perks.

Sooo you haven't tried him or you have? He's so much more fun of a killer now. They should have made the on-hit change ages ago
I haven't tried him yet, but i really have no desire too either. You can read how bad he is in the patch notes, and seeing videos on Legion only prove how he's even weaker now. His only gimmick is BoP + Nemesis, and even then you simply don't stun him. Having a slight MS increase and faster vaulting doesn't out way not having Feral hits count as M1 hits and the completely buff too Mending.
He simply didn't need nerfs of any kind, and making a bad killer worse for a few very weak "buffs" is simply not good. The devs reasoning of "double blade was making mending take too long" didn't justify making him worse.

Why do so many of you keep saying things like "make old Legion live". Nemesis doesn't work this way and, honestly, if you get destroyed by a Nemesis Legion its your own fault.
reread my post mate, I didn't say too make Old Legion live, I'm saying it won't make it live. They got rid of Old Legion for a reason, so they won't add it again.

Have you played Legion on the PTB? He feels 300% better to play than he does on live. His movement buffs are insane.
Along with that, running Beast of Prey on him guarantees you a down on a survivor currently...
I disagree, I find all the nerfs outway Faster vaulting and a slight run speed. Not being able too use perks like Franklins, Sloppy, STBFL, etc really hinders him, and the Mend buff makes him completely useless.

You should easily be able too get a safety if you do 5 gens. And even if you somehow don't safety off of gens alone, doing totems grants rank points, so you should be fine. Calling for a nerf/removal of a perk because it's boring/annoying is silly.

Literally this. If it's a Leatherface who took someone too the basement, and you haven't seen/heard him since, don't run into the basement blindly. Just look around before entering,
Honestly if you fall for Insidious Leatherface you brought it on yourself. He's a giant with a yellow apron, you can't miss him.

I don't see how this is proof of a nerf. Why are you walking into a clearly swinging Oni? If this happened in a legit match the survivors brought it on themselves. And unlike Leatherface, you barely move when it happens, so it isn't nerf worthy.

They should do their own takes on the greats.
Like unique killers but still sorta based on Dracula, wolfman, etc...No survivors just the killers, and bundle them together as one DLC package with a whole retro horror thematic.
Hell no. The que times when they released Ghostface, and only Ghostface, were twice as long as Demogorgon's and Oni's. They need a survivor too go with a killer, otherwise que times are just way too long.

The top mend time with Legion's two addons was ridiculous. So we considered, "What happens if we reduce mend time across the board?" Borrowed Time gets a buff, Legion gets a bit of a nerf, and some other things showed up on the list. We decided it was worthwhile to hit it across the board.
As always, we'll monitor the effect that has on the game, and act accordingly in the future.
This is just silly. BT didn't need a buff, it's already a super strong perk, and Legion didn't need nerfs, he's already a really weak killer. There is literally 0 reason too change Mend and nerf Legion.
-
@Mr_K said:
Beast of Prey. Old Legion
So instead of a weak but fun killer, we now have a super weak and unfun killer? All this will do will make the devs nerf Beast of Prey or nerg Legion even more. They need too just make him a viable killer, not nerf him into dust like Thanos.
-
No you can't. he was barely usable in red ranks by being forced too run 4 perks, but now he is completely useless. There was literally 0 reason for them too nerf Legion when the entire community wanted buffs. They may as well delete him because you'll never see Legion's anymore, and if you do they'll get maybe 1 kill if they tunnel.

If you bought your way too the end sure, but it's simply not possible too grind that much in 2 days.
As for OP, I guaranteed it was designed like this. They have a system which incentives people into buying tiers and levels because of how hard the grind is. It was made for casual players too pay too get skins, because there is no way a casual player will even get the Archives finished.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
BHVR was like "The way to fix Nurse is we'll add a cooldown for her cooldown".
Legit. "minor touch too her base kit" my ass. I agree with OP, she feels clunky and is so easy too beat now. She's still strong, but there was 0 reason too touch her base kit so harshly. I'm hoping they fix it, but probably not. She'll fall into the oblivion of forgotten killers like Legion never too be touched again.
-
@Mikeasaurus said:
I agree. Doctor may not be fantastic, but he's more useful than a Legion. I rarely ever see a Legion anymore which is kind of sad, since he was a fun killer to try go against. Here's hoping Legion will rise back up again soon!
I don't think the devs are touching legion ever. They've said multiple times that he's "in a good spot" even though everyone says he's a complete joke. I think it's because they fear how OP Old Legion was and they are scared too touch him.
-
@Yung_Slug said:
Survivors rush gens immediately if I don't have ruin.
This. Some killers you can run without Ruin, but those are the top tiers, people like Legion, Bubba, Myers, Huntress, etc need Ruin because they can't pressure gens enough. I know the devs disagree, but ask any great DBD player like Tru3, monto, or puppers and they'll all say the same.
-
100% agree weak killers need buffs and that since Nurse and now Spirit are on the chopping block, I agree that it could easily spiral out of control. If Spirit get's nerfed as bad as Nurse, then Freddy will probably be next, then Billy, then the game will be dead since no killer would play the game.
But Spirit in my mind does need addon changes. Prayer beads are obvious, but Activation time and cooldown reduction are problems for me as well, because now any mindgames you learn when fighting a Spirit are somewhat null because the play style is completely different. It never feels satisfying too escape a Spirit, it feels like I won a coin toss.

I don't like Pennywise in the game because the dudes a literaly god. We know the Entity is powerful, but so powerful too control a god? not likely.
I would rather have Jack Torrence as a killer if we are going with a Steven King chapter. He's unique enough too stand out from the other human killers, but also won't be another clown as said.

Again, to fix those issues they would have to think of a way to stay true to how the events theme is... while also not copy and pasting from the moonrise event that everyone wants to happen with other events also...
Making more moonrise event clones doesn't do anything but keeps things stale... You can argue the special hooks and generators are stale but at least they worked... they didn't cause a lot of suicide by hook or long queue times to just get vials...
Plus, this even allows you to get those serums for literally 2 months... that's 2 months to get all 60 serums... so nobody will miss out on it at all. How long did it take to get 60 serums for both sides? Almost the entire events time...
No, you weren't forced to get nectar... but that argument doesn't even make sense... it doesn't matter if you're forced to get the nectar or not... its an event! You're suggested to participate and that's up to you.
Saying its "easy to just track suicides and DCing" and "It's easy to think of something else" is easier to say... than it is to do it, please keep that in mind. The team has to think of new designs for those special hooks and generators too you know... they don't just have them on hand to put into the game.
In the future i'm sure they'll think of a interesting concept for another event... but for now this is what you get.
You're either satisfied or not, nobody is forcing you to be happy about it.
It's easy too stay true too the event, keep the event and fix the major problems. They shouldn't copy from the Moonrise event IMO, but I would rather that then them copying the old motto for such a boring "event"
special gens and hooks don't work because now as killer you get gen rushed and games last 5 minutes without slow down perks. I would rather a moonrise clone because I could at least have fun in an event, not sweat out my rear just too get 2-3 kills and some bloodpoints.
It wasn't hard too get serum once they merged both sides, and a halloween event has no business lasting till December personally, it's why they only last 1-2 weeks.
It does make sense. If you don't want too get the serum then play the game normally. You said yourself that it's suggested too partake, it was never forced upon you.
It is easy for them too track it since they already do, they've said as such before, the problem was that without dedicated servers they couldn't tell if it was intentional or not. And as for the hooks and gens, why redesign them when they had perfectly good hooks already modeled, coded, rendered, etc in the game from last year? they only needed too make ones for gens.
Simply put, they should of just fixed the event and not done the safe and unfun "special hooks and gens" route. Plus you don't even get anything from the event offering besides bloodpoints. It's not even an event in my eyes since the serum is tied too the battle pass, not the event. As you said, I can still get the serum in December when it's time for Christmas.

No, they had an entire year for:
- update the game with the new Unreal engine iteratively
- create new maps and new map variations
- add I don't even know how many killers and survivors
- program dedicated server (and as you see, they still haven't nailed it..)
- create and develop a new switch team
- archives and rift
- balance changes
...and finally there's an event that lasts just 7 days.
Something tells me it wasn't very high priority wise.
This only proves my point more. If they have so many people on, I can't see how they couldn't have an event team. And even if it wasn't high priority, why would they waste the time adding new hooks and gens and not just re-using the event from last year? These are resources they would probably want spent on better things, but instead they spent the time and money too add new skins for hooks and gens when they had perfectly good models sitting in the back burner.
Simply put, they should of done better then the basic and boring motto for "events". Hell, I would of been fine if it was just a reskin of the lunar event, because at least then it still feels like an event, and if they are going through the trouble too code, map, design, and impliment new hooks and gens, they may as well just re-skin the lanterns into a giant pustla flower too be picked up.

You can't fix the major issues that the pustula plants had in the first place. The 2nd objective was such a time waster and it also rewarded players that just completed their vials and died on first hook.
That was like 90% of the matches during the start of the event, people would bring offerings, get nectar, die, than repeat until you had 30 vials for that side... And the match making was also a nightmare for Killer. Not many Survivors were playing, the ones that were just died on the first hook... and most of the Killers had to wait for 10 minute + or 20 minute lobbies to even get a chance to complete a vial...
It was so bad that they just merged the vials together so people could finish it...
I know, but as I have said multiple times, there are ways too fix this. With dedicated servers they have said they can track those who suicide and DC, so they simply need too ban those who did it, and people would be less likely too do it. It won't stop the issue, people are gonna be jerks, but it would solve it for the most part.
And plants were never forced on you, you were never forced too do the plants, I do agree the plants took a very long time too drain, but it's something that is a very easy fix for. No problem during the event besides que times weren't fixable with some tweaking and changing.
Honestly I would still rather have the problems of last year then the current "event" it's nothing but a glorified bloody party streamers. An event should be special, not "gain an offering that gives more bloodpoints. Have fun." or "do a special gen for points, and put people on special hooks for point."
-
@Nobsyde said:
The event is objectively underwhelming, but there's a reason for that, and that's the development of the Archives and Rift.
I'm sure the next event will be much more interactive, in the meanwhile go search 3 chests!
They have had an entire year too work on the event, since it was one of the biggest things that happened in 2018 personally, and they didn't do squat and did the safest and most boring thing in the world.
If last year's event was like this then whatever, it's boring but it's the usual, but they raised the bar and the expectations with how fun the Hallowed Blight was with cutscenes, awesome cosmetics, and a fun (and problematic) secondary objective with the plants. Then they completely downgrade the entire thing, instead of fixing the problems and making it be better.
Even if you did use the reason of Archives, I can't see the entire development team working on it. Someone on the team had too make, code, and iron out new gens and hooks, so clearly they had time too fix the old event, they simply chose not too.
-
Nurse is still in the top 5, but she ain't the best in the game anymore, that's Spirit now, though how they are going too "look" at her addons like they "looked" at Nurse she's screwed.
My new top 5 list is
1: Spirit
2: Freddy
3: Nurse
4: Billy
5: Huntress
-
@FireHazard said:
Nobody is ever pleased huh...?
I would be pleased if it wasn't such a major downgrade compared too last years event. There really is no good reason too not fix the problems with Hallowed Blight and instead give us the most basic and boring thing that doesn't even effect gameplay like all other game events do.
They have done major things that I do enjoy, such as the archives and the servers (mostly) but if there is a flaw then I'm not gonna be quiet about it. This new "event" is a complete downgrade in every form from last year, and they didn't even bring the cool hooks from last year back, now we have these incredibly ugly, and almost untextured looking hooks and gens that are eye sores.

Thanks for making the update so good, Devs.
The archives and battle pass are nice, but casual players can't even unlock them all without grinding out hours. One level 4 challenge is "Sacrifice 3 survivors during EGC using NOED." I mean how the ######### is a casual player suppose too get this without grinding?

@twistedmonkey said:
The hallowed blight was an event I actually enjoyed as it looked great and I enjoyed the sided objective but it seems the feedback on it wasn't so great.
The main problem was it detracted from playing the normal game and some survivors ran around collecting pustuals and then killed themselves to move on and get more.
It also hurt people who wanted to play the game normally as doing the gens became secondary and that lowered their chances of escape.
It's not an easy one to balance to keep everyone happy and even this one will still be complained about due to some that will farm.
I agree that there were some problems with last years event, but it's still 10 times better then this boring "event" that only promotes gen rushing.
If a survivor is doing nothing but getting vials and killing themselves, then it's a simple solution, ban them. With dedicated servers there should be an easy way too track those that do this, and thus wouldn't be hard too punish people for it.
You weren't forced too harvest plants though, it was an optional objective. I ran into many people who just did gens and ignored plants the entire game.
I agree not everyone will be happy, but I can't see this "event" being anything but a complete downgrade from last year. They had plenty of time too fix the problems with last years event, and they didn't even bring back the pustla hooks! we now have these incredibly ugly hooks and gens that are just eye sores.

No. I feel like the Syringe on the PTB was fine, and the increased time was just way too much. It should go back too being 8 seconds, since it was rewarding as a survivor too use it right, and killers had counterplay since they could see they had a limited time too down them/pick them up.
-
Well, not too be rude, but it's because you're at low ranks. red ranks never have these issues. If you can't see him, you simply need too learn what too look for, even in corn maps he rarely sneaks up unless it's a closed map like Lery's or The Game.
Wraith is really weak, and needs a better buff then undetectable. IMO he needs too uncloack faster, not by a lot, but by .25 seconds, something too ensure that first hit on an un aware survivor, because sometimes survivors can just run away and you aren't guaranteed the "free" hit. If they have Sprintburst fine, they get away, but a normal survivor deserves too be punished for being unaware.
