This happened to Deathslinger as well
His PTB (and current) endgame walking animation is this really weird limping animation but a few patches ago it was changed to be his normal in game walk which looked much better

I don't know. It does nothing on windows other than hitting the survivor and is still somewhat situational. Survivors already drop pallets early against an Executioner and they tend to just hold W. I think this is worthy of a very rare addon.
The spammability of his power combined with the zoning + breaking the pallet will make it incredibly oppressive
-
The idea for the Crimson book should be an ultra rare IMO
-
I feel like your mentality about the game does improve if you play both sides and experience the highs and lows of each
I'm not saying that people who play both are better, not at all - I just think when you have experience with both it's easier to be a bit more level-headed about complaints about either side.
-
Wesker.
What? Don't look at me like that, you know it'd be cool.
-
There's human characters in Devil May Cry like Lady
Also a huge variety of monsters, but majority of them aren't really humanoid so.
Unless they're open to having Vergil as a killer.
🤔
-
No but after playing DBD, I can't look at wooden pallets the same way
I find it really funny that something so innocuous in real life is such a big part of DBD
-
I often find the problem isn't NOED itself, it's the playstyle people with NOED use or what NOED allows them to get away with, let's say.
They usually try to camp and tunnel someone out of the game really quickly, not caring about the gens and then they use noed to snowball at the end. I say usually because not everyone who uses NOED does this, it's just a pattern I've noticed after facing noed many many many times over my time playing the game.
-
There's nothing that instills fear in a killer's heart than spending the first few minutes not being able to find anyone and then hearing gens being done
-
Infectious Fright on certain killers
At least I can get rid of NOED.

something which he could just guarantee with bump logic, j-flicks also work as a sort of stop block to keep experienced blights from using nothing but bump logic to get guaranteed hits with even less counterplay than a j-flick because they enjoy taking risks and going for more fun hits, im sure on paper removing j-flicks sounds like a good idea, but in practice bump logic is the stronger of the two
If a Blight wants nothing more than to win then aren't they going to just do that anyway?
Correct me if I'm misinterperating your point, but it seems like you're saying Blights only use J-Flick just to show off?
-
The problem with game hostage scenarios, is that it's always on the other side to get out of it
For example, If survivors do nothing but hide and never touch gens - I don't think it's a bannable offense because 'Well you can go find them and kill them, thus ending the match'
And vice-versa, if a killer is refusing to play/chase then it's on the survivors to do the generators
I don't think Stalemate's count as a hostage scenario either (3 Gens situations with 3/4 survivors left)

no its perfect how it is it takes skill to master not every blight should be able to do 180 flicks it should always take skill to master
I disagree.
It's not balanced in its current form and Blight wasn't designed to be able to do it, so he shouldn't be able to
Taking skill and a bit of know-how shouldn't render it immune from being balanced. Doesn't just apply here, though.

@Beefmur said:
as to everyone who keeps telling me its a bug where did i ever say it wasnt? Oh yeah i didnt say it wasnt a bug. I think it should be put in as a mechanic whatever though
Yeah I mean if they decide to add it to Blight's basekit and they balance it a bit - I'm down with that. At least it won't be an exploit if they take the time to balance it
I'm just not okay with it's current state and accessibility.
-
Supposedly a big mori (and key) rework is on the way so maybe they'll do something with it
I expect to see it next chapter or next mid chapter maybe?

I cannot wait for the devs to remove it and nerf Blight to the ground.
Then I will have no regret to leave DBD.
People like Brokenbones will definitely make DBD a nice campfire game.
Oh come on, I'm arguing against one thing on one killer
Give me a break with the melodrama saying that I want the whole game to be survivor sided

there is absolutely nothing wrong in his video its all factual evidence
The video isn't factual evidence, majority of it is his opinion and none of it is anything new that hasn't been said already on these forums.
He's entitled to his opinion and I respect it, even if I disagree. Video's even well made, but it's not the Ace Attorney style takedown people think it is lol

yeah dude youre right i could make my own video but i think he did a great job summarizing what i would say anyways. He brings up solid evidence other than just talking about it he shows gameplay and how to counter it
It doesn't change the fact it's an exploit that should be fixed, if you ask me.
Either fix it or have it be incorporated into basekit and more accessible to everyone. None of this gray area of "its an exploit but it's ok"

Fair enough, I suppose.
But many Survivors still complain about it instead of adapting, no?
They don't want to get better, they want the game handed to them on a silver platter.
Oh for sure.
I don't like NOED but I don't really complain about it. I think it's a crutch but it's just one perk of many. The main reason why i take such a big issue with the whole J-flick exploit thing to begin with is people's mentalities of calling it a 'tech' instead of refusing to call it what it is
Not to mention the people who act like they can speak for survivor players, saying "oh it has counterplay, it's fine - don't do anything about it"
-
@DarKaron said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2140354#Comment_2140354
No, and that's true.
But at the same time, explain NOED. Very similar problem, much easier to handle, and yet people still complain about it every day of the week, and then some!
Most Survivors don't want to adapt. They just want to play M1 simulator.
I'll explain why I think NOED is different
NOED activates only at the end of the game, and it's tied to only one totem.
Ruin and Undying had this problem where survivors could cleanse basically 4 totems and ruin would STILL be up. That's a lot of time wasted for survivors doing nothing
At least when you know where NOED is and when you cleanse it, it's gone. It didn't respawn.
-
@DarKaron said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2139834#Comment_2139834
Then explain all the bitching and moaning about Ruindying, despite the fact that it was a relatively easily counterable thing, minus RNG, and also explain NOED, one of the most hated perks in the entire game by Survivors.
All they had to do was adapt. Do bones. Or just leave instead of T-bagging the Killer in the exit gate like a dipthong.
But they cried and bitched and moaned instead, and Undying got bonked by the nerf bat.
I'm not saying it was undeserved, Ruindying was the equivalent of the "Smol PP build" for Survivors. But take that context into account.
Old ruin undying wasn't easily counterable though. How can you say "minus RNG" when RNG is what made it a big problem in the first place.
Having to potentially cleanse all 5 totems to get rid of 1 perk isn't good design.
-
So, I'm gonna break his video down a bit but I find his defense of it to be really lackluster and basically the same as the various threads I've already seen.
For a start, I'm getting the elephant in the room out of the way:
"Good survivors will adapt":
- Ah yes, this is probably the most common argument I saw in the various threads. People saying "It has counter play though" which completely ignores one of the main points which was that survivors shouldn't have to go against a killer and expect them to be exploiting. An exploit having 'counterplay' isn't automatically a point in it's favour at all. Adapting is part of DBD as a game for sure, but I find it highly unreasonable that these Blight players think they can speak on behalf of survivors like this. I don't think anybody actually enjoys going against people they know are exploiting - but I don't speak for everyone on this.
His points about unintended mechanics/exploits:
- I knew exactly where he was going to go with this the moment it was brought up because I think it's such a lazy justification of the exploit, bringing up a completely different genre of games and how exploits were made into the core of the game to begin with. We're not talking about something that is as gameplay changing as combo's in street fighter, we're talking about how by clever usage of adjusting settings outside of the game, you can bypass an intentional restriction the developers put in that removes an intended weakness of a character
- He brings up other exploits/techs and calls them 'charming' and says they add depth to the game when the one's he listed were either silly (moonwalking), frustrating and not fun to face to the point he even called it mindless (Macro hag), Technicalities with Myer's stalking (That's fine), Pig's power being fundementally flawed (Why he brought this up, I have no idea - it doesn't help his case at all), Huntress hitboxes (Are complained about on a consistant basis, has nothing to do with his point). I left one or two out but yeah
- Undoubtedly his worst point of the video "J-flicking is beneficial for survivors" - No, it isn't. I understand what angle you're trying to approach the subject from but this is simply not true at all.
- His point about consoles I partially agree with - M&B support should 100% be available to our console friends. It wouldn't help with just Blight, it'd help them with many many killers. Not really a point in favour of the exploit though
Overall he's styled his video as this Ace Attorney style takedown but he did nothing but reiterate what everyone's already been saying and arguing to death. I will say it's clear he put a lot of effort into the presentation of the video so he has my kudos for that. Very well made presentation wise.
-
I really hope they don't have a streamer hosting it.
That's my only fear
-
This might be a controversial opinion but I believe BT is healthy for the game
It is the only actual anti-camping perk in the game that is consistant.
Is it abused? It is, and I wish it wasn't. Maybe they'll add some conditions to Endurance to further balance it like they did with DS only time will tell
Hopefully the reduced timer helps with the problem you listed in your post
-
- Developer and Community Communication - It used to be better than it is now, I believe some internal changes must've happened which has led to them being more tight lipped than they were in the past.
- An improved graphical settings option menu for PC and better optimisation for console friends, because they are important and have been getting the short end of the stick for far too long
- Game Health Chapter.
-
Isn't it an unwritten rule that every update adds a new nurse bug? Sheesh.
-
In retrospect, I think old ruin's problem wasn't being too strong, since Ruin is still strong and remains king of gen regression perks after undying was added and pop was nerfed
Old Ruin punished less experienced players more, was inconsistant in its slowdown (Since it was dependant on skill checks) but it was also a band-aid to generator repair times as for a long time the penalty for 2-manning a gen wasn't 15% like it is now, it was 10% and old Toolboxes were a thing
So, it's not that old ruin was necessarily weaker or stronger - the game has just shifted in a slightly more balanced direction with stacking on gens + toolboxes. Old ruin FELT much stronger because it was around during this time.
That's my take on it, at least
-
A streamer who doesn't berate their opponents constantly with an inflated ego.
-
I'm okay with slugging because right now I understand it's a way for killer's to snowball and take advantage of survivor mistakes
What I am not okay with is killers who slug constantly with things like infectious fright. Nurse players mainly
-
I really wish people wouldn't take content like this as fact.
It's a good demonstration but it's hardly represenative of your average game.
-
Try out Desperate Measures, really underrated perk
-
Has to be hag
Only semi-recently have people caught on to how strong she is but she plays the game by different rules than the others like Nurse and Spirit
I'm of the belief if hag was really popular, people would want her nerfed really badly.
-
I think Visionary should guarantee you a map (green) on your first successful chest search

As a J Flicking Blight main, you guys seriously need to chill. The chance of seeing one in your matches is once in a blue moon and it takes skill to pull off. It took me 6 months of straight playing Blight to master it and it's easy to counter if you see it coming by sidestepping. I scrim against competitive teams all the time and I can say for a fact J Flicking doesn't grant you an easy win if you know how to do it, the player needs to be good with Blight and comfortable in his power. You all really want another Billy situation where you get a killer who's fun, has a high skill cap and powerful ONLY in the right hands to get gutted. I literally don't understand y'all lmao. OP got their first J Flicking Blight ever and got rolled then came to the forums to complain lol.
Do you acknowledge that it's an exploit regardless of how you feel about it

Ah right, his typical killer victim complex is putting things as they are: how do you know it's not a priority? Maybe figuring out what caused it isn't as easy considering they didn't even touch hooks or that perk since the patch the bug appeared in. Remember the hill bug where survivors would get stuck? How long did it take to fix that? Three weeks/a month? Or right now the pallet bug which is NOT fixed. But these are survivors bugs right, so even though they're not fixed yet he doesn't mention them because they don't fit his victim complex
So here it is again, whenever space coconut says something:
They deserve flak for not fixing the pallet bug, I agree with you about that
But I'd like to reiterate what I said in a post just before, he's trying to highlight a problem here that players have been given a tacit okay to abuse something that's broken about the game.
Also, I say it's not a priority because it's been a month+ and it's still not fixed despite being reported. He even shows proof of this in his video
-
@Sonzaishinai said:
You can really tell coconut has started their propaganda video's again.
Really something for him to search for something that happened 2 years ago to desperatly try and prove how biased the devs are.
Also didn't people get banned for using wake up too when it was bugged?
I don't think his intention is to spread anti-bhvr propaganda
He's trying to highlight a serious problem here, that for some reason people have been given a tacit okay to abuse something that's extremely busted. How's that a good decision on BHVR's part?

It actually does cause he is wrong, as mandy explained already
His overall point of it being a problem that's seemingly not a priority to be fixed is still completely correct
I believe the only reason people don't get banned for things like this is because it's very easy for people to fall back on the excuse of "i didn't know it was bugged" and there's no way to prove otherwise.

Personally I'm a big fan of the recent trend of ### posting.
It's very wholesome and helps foster a great community
I wish they'd have filtered it with [BAD WORD] instead of #. 10x funnier

Useful: There's a time and place to heal - remember that the killer can undo health states but cannot undo complete generators
Funny: The teammate you're trying (and failing) to babysit with your flashlight really doesn't like you.

I'd argue the opposite, he's not intimidating at all

You can run him around basically all structures and he can barely throw one knife at you around corners

Sure, but it's better to prevent them from healing and make them have the penalties rather than giving them the chance to.
But this build also works with Mangled Pin, so go crazy.
It's def not a bad choice!
I just think a survivor healing vs legion is a net positive, compared to a survivor who can't heal who will most likely just sit on gens.
Thana will also have the neat side effect of making some survivors want to heal to get rid of it, but they can't if they are broken. Hopefully that makes sense
