In-game report along with video evidence submitted to BHVR's support ticket system, which you can find in the in-game info screen.
You need some form of identification/ID from them to report
There's no 'Offender ID' I can provide. Their usernames are typically just a bunch of boxes. This is the problem.
With normal reports you use SteamID but there's no such thing for Epic/Windows store

How are you coming to the conclusion that it has "tripled" in this time period?
A guy named Choy made a video talking about the Epic games fiasco where he spoke to someone who knows a lot about the 'dbd cheating scene' and they were told that many people abused the hell out of it being free to make hundreds of accounts easily with scripts and such
Meaning people who are determined to cheat could potentially have hundreds of accounts
-
Ultimately I don't think Lightborn is worth a perk slot, once you develop a better game sense - survivors going for saves turn from hinderances to something you can turn to your favour and increase your pressure
However Lightborn has 1 application nobody has mentioned so far: It counters some cheaters. Some cheaters use perma-blind/insta blind stuff and lightborn makes it useless, which is hilarious.

The game will never be perfect, but I think it's in okay state. I'm still here and enjoying it.
Yeah me too
Even if I think it's def in a v rough shape. Community interest and frustration is seemingly at an all-time high, it's not 100% the game itself to blame.

Also here's a G-Fuel flavour for you
Static Blast.
I wouldn't buy it but someone would

There is nothing but truth to it :)
I suppose a better question might be
can DBD ever reach that height again? Not popularity wise but I guess quality wise?
I'm sure many ppl don't think so but I dunno, the game must be doing something right in the big picture of things.

"Are you sure the game really was more fun back then bc of it's state and not nostalgia?"
Absolutely.
I can assure you that Haunter's memories are as fresh as my own. And everyone around here knows that, when it comes to Old DBD, GeneralV is our guy!
I'm sure there's some truth to it
I just know how much nostalgia is also a factor in how people view things of the past, people yearn for better times

No mmr, no realm beyond, old Freddy, less balanced yet somehow more fun, the fog etc.
Are you sure the game really was more fun back then bc of it's state and not nostalgia?
Not trying to be snarky, I have fond memories of when I started playing/earlier days when I was newer too.
If you took current DBD minus MMR and I guess Boons, is it really so bad? Also not playing devils advocate for either of those things.

The concept of controlling 2 characters is cool if it were done justice
It wasn't
Victor isn't a character, he's a controllable hatchet hitbox that runs around the map.

There used to be downvotes, actually.
But they got removed because you know how much of a hellhole this place is, and what people would do with a tool like that.
I remember I saw a post from Mandy mentioning downvotes at one point, long time ago. Probably better off without them

Also LOL what does "even worse personality" even mean?

I think the forums are pretty balanced all things considered. I've never got the impression the forum is full of people who are completely biased, but granted bias does exist in everyone a little bit.
Still, It's not like there's downvotes that hide people's posts for example.

A whole 10% added. Took them long enough

Do people actually think some new popular game is going to kill DBD when previous new popular games have never ever came even close to doing so?
If anything it's really funny that DBD has much more stopping power than most triple A-games
Look at the new Battlefield game for example

Because killers will never admit they played poorly IN GAME, nor have I ever seen them give the survivor(s) props after the match. Flip it the other way around, that’s like me saying I should of ran this perk, or I should of played as Meg instead. It’s literally an excuse.
Maybe practice what you preach.
Instead of making threads berating people why don't you make threads praising good killer players you've come across
-
From my understanding changes to perks have to jump through so many hoops and those hoops have to be jumped through well in advance given how BHVR is typically working like 3 chapters ahead of where we are right now
This is why it took years for us to get a distortion buff... That added 1 extra token.

He literally dc’d after all 5 gens popped. Then he proceeds to go into chat and said that if he was deathslinger he would of won, almost like a for sure guaranteed promise. It’s just an excuse to me.
Your thread title is "killers blame everyone but themselves"
And you post a screenshot of a killer who dced saying "I should have played Deathslinger, I made a mistake"
??????????
What does the phrase "I made a mistake" mean if not admitting that something was your fault

I was dying at that video. At the start when the content warning pops up and he goes "have you ever seen that? I've never seen it!" That's on most videos that show or talk about violence. They've been on YouTube for YEARS and based on that video still don't understand how their system works. There are other avenues they could've taken too, Patreon being one. I can't help but laugh at YouTube is a scam but NFTs aren't angle they're trying to push. 😂
Clearly it's evil youtubes fault that CryptTV is hurting badly on money that they need to turn to NFTS
It's not like they had the influence to get their content into one of the biggest multiplayer games out there or anything
-
@Chilli_man2400 said:
I know the game will not die but the most popular dbd people. Otz, Tru3 and Scott Jund are leaving dbd to play Elden Ring. When 3 of the most popular dbd YouTubers are leaving you know it’s bad when they leave.
They were all souls youtubers before DBD though, so why wouldn't they play it for a while?

I’d argue that haddonfield and the game are survivor sided than the one I brought. It’s a good map but those 2 are far worse.
Btw your thread title makes no sense, after looking closer at the screenshots
The Blight player says "I should've played Deathslinger" which is them basically implying/saying it's their fault for picking a killer they aren't good with and they say they made a mistake
Did you even read the chat in your own screenshot?

They were blocking everyone that wasn't going "yay nfts." I get blocking people being toxic but they are blocking people for saying they are disappointed and asking them to please reconsider.
They are handling this soooo bad, the only people that will be interested in the end will be the few die hard Crypt TV fans that avoided being blocked and NFT bros. 😂
If BHVR continues the partnership it's going to be really awkward when they go to promote more Crypt TV skins and portion of the people are blocked by Crypt TV.
Hilarious, their attempt at damage control deflecting blame onto Youtube has got to be one of the worst responses to this kind of thing I've seen
Do they honestly think by going "look you wanna talk about scams? youtube scammed us!!!!" that they'll magically change peoples minds?
Do they not see how childish that is.
-
Why did you make this thread?
Like, is it news to anyone that some people get upset when they lose?
-
Sup, best wishes to you too!
Hopefully you enjoy your time here :D
-
So from the looks of things they aren't taking too kindly to people's reactions
Supposedly they were blocking ppl who were trashing on NFTs in their replies and now they've removed the tweets that mentioned them/put the NFT seperate account on lockdown
Also I find it really funny that their 'response' was a tiktok of a dude complaining about youtube scamming them. They didn't address anything at all
So yeah, there's your laugh for the day/night
-
"Hey let's add a system that's based on 'winning' games"
"Sure, let's also leave in the feature that allows either side to choose what map they go to. What could possibly go wrong"
SBMM moment
-
I never actually thought about DMS + Chain hunt. I forgot that chains pull you off gens like that.
I guess the counterplay is having 1 survivor working on a gen and having a buddy tank the chains for them but coordinating that is a nightmare if you're not in a swf + it's likely not worth it

no occasionally (bc i was bad at them before and still am so im not very consistent with it) i can hit them like always
forgive the very old clip but this is the most recent one that i have readily available but it looks like this one:
Interesting, it's been ages since I've seen anyone do these
I figured they just got fixed so everyone stopped going for them 🤔

then why the hell can i still do them on occasion?
I thought they completely fixed the thing where you could run through the killer when they were vaulting
Doesn't it cause you to just jitter into their hitbox or smth
The only one I know that's still around is the one where they vault from a high spot and you hide underneath them.
-
Why would this be intentional? Old window techs were removed on purpose

As @sizzlingmario4 said, the time will tick during the attempt itself. This has been a thing for a while. Attempt earlier.
This wasn't a thing before and it shouldn't be a thing
If you successfully unhook yourself, you escaped first hook. By the games rules you cannot attempt an unhook if you are in the struggle phase
The attempt should be cancelled if you reach 2nd stage,

It doesn't really matter if there is NOED or not when killer is bubba, you have 120 seconds of free time AFTER first hook, and if first guy gets down super quickly, game is over anyway regardless of strategy killer choose.
No but the point is if at any point we had stopped to 'do bones' when the bubba was facecamping, he would've easily gotten more kills despite his playstyle.
hell, there are builds out there that are catered towards facecamping - like that one time a streamer did an experiment where he facecamped from the start with perks like corrupt, deadlock, noed etc and won more times than lost.
You can't expect survivors to spend time doing bones when your playstyle boils down to "i'm facecamping lol". That's NOEDs fundemental flaw.
-
@SuzuKR said:
Not a bug. If you hit second stage in the attempt process, you have taken 2 hook states.
It is a bug
You cannot unhook yourself in the second stage, so why does unhooking yourself take you straight to second stage despite the fact you can only attempt it on first stage? From the looks of it the game still gives you the 'attempt to unhook yourself' penalty even if you succeed
This wasn't a thing before, it only semi-recently became a thing after they tweaked the attempting to unhook yourself animation/penalty

Let's assume that one person chased for 60 seconds, you can fix 3 generators with 20 seconds, do two another within 100 seconds and there would be somewhat enough time to do bones.
Or just do a bone once gate is powered.
That's typically not what happens in your average game
I'll give you an example myself, a match that I had fairly recently
Killer is bubba on wretched shop.
He downs this mikeala v quickly, takes her straight to basement - she has kindred and we can see he is straight up just facecamping. So all three of us split up on gens. By the time she died, we barely had enough time to do all 5 gens with 3 people. The only reason we did all the gens in time was because at 2 gens, two of us co-oped on one while the other was done solo.
The only reason he didn't get more than 1 kill was because he was bad in chase and he didn't have noed. If he had noed, he would've easily got an extra kill there. Maybe more.
-
@fulltonon said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2821939#Comment_2821939
Yes? or just get out ASAP.
If you stop doing gens and do bones then you're going to lose because it'll be a 3 v 1 by that point
-
@cutiekiller said:
because it is a weak balanced perk, there's something called totems and there's 5 of them in the map, you need to do 5 gens, that's 1 totem per gen, do 1 totem each time and you won't have to deal with noed, there's no reasons to change noed in any single way, do ######### bones
In a normal game yeah this applies
But what do you do about a killer who's camping and tunnelling one dude. Stop doing gens and do bones?
That's my only issue with NOED, the gameplay it promotes. Not the perk itself.
-
If you ask me it's because it's one of the few perks that equalises skill a bit
I'm not saying that to be snarky or anything, NOED is one of those perks you put on when you're getting hammered game after game so it's used as a sort of equaliser/way to get something out of a dud match. Even if it's just 1k, if noed gets you that 1k then it's worth something
The devs probably look at the statistics of it and think it's okay
-
@TurtleSushiTV said:
I personally enjoy the MMR system, its give harder games requiring me to get better at the game (well that's how i look at it) i get stomped alot of the time when using my 3 go to Killers. But that's part of growing i feel.
See the self improvement angle is great, I'm of a similar mindset. I'm always looking how i can better myself and how I play but I run into a big roadblock
The fundemental problem is the system only cares if you get better at 'escaping' or 'killing' when we both know there is way more to playing both sides than that. It doesn't matter how good you get with a power, how good you are at chases or pulling off altruistic plays, if you don't escape then "was it a skilled play to begin with?"
Same with killer, the devs said at one point that 1k can count as a win.
-
To avoid burn-out/frustration I only play a few killer games at a time or play a bunch of games purely to do archive challenges

You do realize steam isn't 100% of the playerbase right?
It's pretty telling when a game that for the most part has been steadily rising in players over the past few years (even pre-covid and such) is suddenly starting to drop players consistantly even with the promise/hype of new content on the way
I do partially agree with your argument that some people hate SBMM on the basis that they want to 'stomp' weaker players but there's also another side to that, some of us want to just play the game without feeling like it's an unbalanced chore. I'm no SWF hater or anything but it's clear to most people Solo Q and Killer are chores to play a lot of the time. It's not just about beating lesser experienced players because that still happens anyway due to the que times/lack of killers
BHVR wants to push DBD in a more 'competitive' way, that's what MMR is for but the game is not built to be competitive.
Map offerings exist, for example.
-
'Curse' I think?
-
The biggest joke of the whole SBMM/MMR thing is when one of the CMs, I think Peanits came out and said something like "yeah we tried MMR based on kills and escapes before and it didn't work, the new system is better"
Then we learn it's the exact same thing. Nothing has changed on the surface
Hilarious
-
Yes
Taking multiple scourge hook perks doesn't generate more hooks, but it does stack all perks on the 4 hooks available
so if you run all 3 of them, they will all apply at once.
Hopefully that makes sense
-
It'd be cool if it had some kind of secondary effect that rewarded you for giving the medkit to a teammate as thematically I think the perk is based on a scene from the film where Quentin steals medicine for Nancy, something like that?
I'm not sure what it could be though
-
I think they made them play less often to stop it getting obnoxious or smth. I think hearing a voiceline every time you pick up and hook someone would get old so I'm happy that the lines don't play constantly
I still hear them every now and then/on every teleport
-

"HARDWARE ID" ban would be a pretty smart way to go for BHVR. Hope they implement it at some point
A DBD content creator called Choy had a video where he talked with someone who said that BHVR is actually hardware banning people for cheating in DBD, although not as often as your typical game ban
He has a few videos talking about cheaters and the problem as a whole

This clip can literally be redundant because Mclean said this months before he left. Whoever is in charge of making blight changes now can think its fine.
Yeah I was gonna say
Not the biggest fan of blight or anything but Mclean no longer works at BHVR so I don't think he has any say on the game anymore, unless he gets consulted about programming stuff or something. Wouldn't surprise me if he was given how extensive his work on the game was
