Doing the gens and just leaving is boring so that's probably why people try to save and die trying
Can't say I'd stick around in a scenario like this, I don't trust Killers...

Wait really! Yay!!!! 😄
Also, hello!
Yeah during my solo Q adventures (EU/UK region) I've faced quite a few spirits as of late. Not as popular as the usual suspects but def more than usual. It was nice actually.
-
You'll be pleased to hear I've seen a few more people playing Spirit as of late
Welcome back!

Thats what happens when you have zero server side checks. Makes me wonder if they can send malicious files to your pc through this game like you could with dark souls.
With the whole IP address leak scandal a couple of months ago, it wouldn't surprise me if there's some security flaw somewhere that would allow something like that.
A lot of what cheaters can do with perks/killer powers is supposedly because all of that is loaded into every match regardless if it's being used or not. So when you load into a trial the data for every perk and power is there, just 'inactive'. No wonder the game gets more and more bloated and slow with every update.
Speaking of malicious stuff, I remember hearing about some cheaters who spammed a bunch of particle effects to crash peoples games. Given how badly the game is optimised these days.
-
@Zozzy said:
Probably. They can force crash your game if you try to spectate them cheating as survivor so i can't see why they couldn't do this.
Can confirm as well
I actually have a recording somewhere of me attempting to spectate a cheater and my game crashing. How their little client lets them do this is baffling
-
His tantrum meter is a non-issue because his chainsaw charges too fast for it to cause any issues
Ironically they added the tantrum meter to stop the constantly reving facecamping ppl would do but it didn't stop the fact that he can facecamp with no counterplay due to the charge time being so short
Default Unhook time: 1 second
Chainsaw charge time: 2 seconds
There's barely any buffer zone.

Sorry, I'm new to this. I just thought it was interesting that players can now mess with the mechanics to use perks that aren't equipped at the time and then make it appear as though they don't have anything. That's pretty brazen.
They can have all perks equipped at once and appear as if they don't have any
If you ever play survivor and you see some dude has vigil up the ante open handed and then you see the scoreboard and nobody had those perks equipped then there was a cheater in the game
-
Giving the killer some free points/getting my WGLF stacks
That's typically why I stick around
-
It's possible only 1 survivor was cheating in this scenario
Cheaters have a tool that let's them teleport to places, so it's likely the guy teleported to gens and finished them that quickly. Alternatively cheaters also have tools that make other people complete generators instantly, which makes it look like other people are cheating
Yes I know a lot about cheaters, having faced so many of them the past few months and seen the kind of stuff their little script lets them do. Not proud of it tbh :(
-
Cheaters do have access to an auto-dead hard thing yeah
Some people are just really patient or lucky tho.
-
I wanna mention this, I don't know how helpful it'll be but
It's possible to family share DBD and all the DLC you own to a diff account. You won't keep your progress but at least you won't have to rebuy all the DLCs and such
-
I think it's perfectly fine as is. It's one of the best altruistic anti-slugging perks out there
My only complaint is when they said they added more ways to get stacks, I'm not gonna say they lied but they really didn't. You used to get WGLF stacks for pallet saves before they added it to the perk text. It'd be neat if you got a stack for picking someone up from the dying state - if that were added then the perk would be 100% perfect imo.

Yup, this. Cleanse or dont...but Make Your Choice as a team, whatever that choice is.
I think that's the only thing that makes plague a bit unfun sometimes, but it's not actually the killers fault
It's lack of coordination

Ok, i don´t wanna explain this.
As a medium killer player i can understand why they do this and also how bad it feels to get death squaded.
And by your reasoning - why should a Bubba feel bad if he does it? Don´t be the first who get down then, you know it is a Bubba.
I'm not saying the Bubba should feel bad
I'm saying there shouldn't be a killer who's power can stop you playing the game because you made 1 mistake

There is the pig thread with the Box blocking.
Same thing - if you are the one unlucky that dies from this... they also don´t want to accept that.
Yeah - maybe i hust don´t understand the mindset of some players. You don´t always escape in this game + have bad luck sometimes.
Not that big of a thing. For me at least.
As killer i have often enough survs who all escape - and as surv i also have sometimes killers where we escape - even Bubbas and Pigs where there tactic didn´t work.
I got saved from a hook against Bubba. If i got very good teammates and the Bubba is not that good. That also happens.
Do you feel as bad for the poor Bubba then?
No I never feel bad for Bubbas who facecamp. I would've a few years ago when bubba was D tier
They know what they are doing and they know why they do it. If they mess it up (Which is really hard to do by the way) then why should I feel bad?
-
I think Plague is among the fairest killers in the game, personally
Yes, she renders healing perks, items etc useless but you also can heal at basically any time at the cost of giving the plague her power. Risk vs reward
Playing safe against a plague is actually the opposite of playing safe normally. Instead of healing, focusing purely on gens and only cleansing near completed generators or when there's 1 generator left.

Yes - why not?
You faced a Bubba and got downed and hooked and camped. That is really bad luck but that can happen - it is a game.
Happened to me some times - not only with Bubba though.
I bravely fight through my skillchecks and look what my team is doing. If i am camped i hope they do gens. I am really a bit sad sometimes when they try to save me and all die.
Then i am maybe angry or not and go on to the next game. Is it really that hard?
There should always be an option for your teammates to save you. Making one mistake as a survivor shouldn't mean you're out of the game completely

This fix would only work for BT - what if u don´t have that? Happens often in SoloQ.
Also it would be a nerf - and i don´t think Bubba needs a nerf.
I find it fascinating that so many people complain about dying in the game and want it so desperately "fixed".
I die often, i play SoloQ and killer and i am sure not high MMR. Also i think i maybe don´t take this so serious.
Is it really fair for a survivor to be straight up unsaveable if the killer decides to play Bubba and camp?

I don't really do YouTube. Just twitch. I occasionally like to make the fun joke of "#1 ranked DBD in whatever you'll believe"
Lynxi also says off what the devs have said. She's a twins main. So ever since the devs hilariously claimed twins were high MMR monsters. Lynxi likes to put "high MMR monster" in her title.
Makes sense yeah. When ppl are being satirical about it then it can be quite funny

I'm not sure if this is a hacker or not but I saw someone the other day on twitch that was devotion 100 and they claimed it was capped at 100 but I'm not sure that's even possible to do in the time frame since devotion has been out, I'm devotion 38 and admitting I don't play the game like I used to but that just sounds a bit high
I don't think that's legit
Cheaters can set their grade and unlock any cosmetic so it wouldn't be that far fetched for them to be able to set their level/devotion
That being said I have seen legit players with 10k+ hours, idk what devotion level that would be but ye

There's dbd content out there that doesn't need to resort to clickbait
-
The Bubba facecamp thing was actually really funny when he was D tier
Now that he's actually among one of the stronger killers in the game it's just sad.
Like being facecamped by a Nurse or a Blight, except there's actual counterplay to being facecamped by those two
-
SWEATY HIGH MMR SURVIVORS VS ME (I won)
Then you watch it and the survivors are either messing around the whole game or make tons of mistakes
I hate clickbait so much
-
Cannibal is far from Meh
Same with Cenobite
-
Kills and escapes aren't completely indicative of skill
-
I'm telling you the easy solution to this whole problem is just making the tape addon let survivors escape with active RBTs
If everyone starts with a trap on their head then that trap isn't going to last until endgame anyway unless the Pig is camping a box

No, cause you have all of the information about what the Blight is doing, which old Spirit didn't give. You had no clue if Spirit was phasing, when she was phasing, and where she was phasing. Blight gives multiple indicators of all actions, especially at ranges that close (eg, at a tile mid-chase). You can hear him slam, you can hear him if he decides to burn multiple Rushes to speed up his last 1-2 (if he's using speed add-ons), you can hear how many slams he already used up, you can hear where his Rushes take him, you can hear what side of a wall or surface the Blight is on, and if you have LOS on him, you can see him as well.
For instance, let's take an LT wall. You are running around the L. Your (main two) options are to either take the fast vault on the L, or veer off and head towards the T. If you think the Blight is going to go for a hug around the L, you turn the corner, break LOS, and then split off towards the T. If you think Blight will use bump logic to go for the T, you take the fast vault back around the L. If the Blight is using up multiple Rushes to accelerate himself, then you only have 1-2 potential Rushes to even have to dodge, and you can just put yourself in a position he can't comfortably access you from if he doesn't commit to a side. For example, if you've seen the Blight player consistently tries to go for the accelerated last 1-2 Rushes and you think this newest attempt isn't a feint, there's no reason to commit to a side for the first few slams. Just stay by the place you cut off his LOS and then veer off before he goes for his actual committed Rush. Him preparatory-slamming takes up time that you can use to reposition yourself if necessary as well, and if he misses, it means he's on a hefty 10-second downtime where he has literally zero power.
Mindgaming is the most skillful method of chase in this entire game, especially the closer it gets to a 50/50. Chases should be determined off player skill versus player skill, not the tile/mechanical limitations. Pay attention to your surroundings, learn how Blight bump logic works, get a grasp on how the Blight player tends to play, be unpredictable, cut off LOS, and make and fake mindgame reads. There are points on every standard non-junkloop (ie, random oval with pallet) tile you can force said mindgame. Eg, with the LT. To hit you in time if you do go for the fast vault on the L, he has to start the swing the moment he turns the corner. That drastically reduces his movespeed momentum since he's going from his Rush into a swing, and by extension, his attack range. Even if he flicks and adjusts, if you already pre-emptively left for the T wall instead, he is literally incapable of reaching you, distance-wise. Conversely, if he expected you to fake the vault and go for the T so he Rushes that way but you already vaulted, he is physically incapable of reaching you in time.
Using up slams at the start with speed add-ons is one of those high-risk high-reward gambles. You shorten the time window significantly, but in return, you are gambling with a 10s cooldown of having zero power which is major against good survivors, and that the entire gamble hinges on you landing the hit within only 1-2 Rushes actually used for navigation/to go for the swing.
When I compared it to old spirit logic, I was referring to the whole "guess right you don't get hit" way you described it. That is essentially what people described old spirit as. A guessing game and a not very enjoyable one either
I appreciate the in-depth analysis of how you would ideally play against a Blight on a certain tile. It often feels like a lot of the time when you try to run tiles against movement speed addon Blights you're going to get hit regardless if you run the tile well or not due to how many rushes he has and how fast he moves.
I agree that mindgaming is a big part of skill in this game but I also find it difficult to mindgame a killer who is moving too fast to even react to. Like what you're saying about running the L wall T wall makes complete sense in theory but I would argue it is a lot harder than you make it seem to be in practice.
Nevertheless thank you for the detailed response, I'll try to keep it in mind the next time I'm up against a Blight and see if it is any help.
-
You wasted too much of their time in chase usually

Don't misconstrue what I'm saying. I'm not saying that the Blight is fair or balanced, I was answering the questions that you asked, which appear to be in bad faith. The reason that I run no slowdown on Blight is precisely because I don't feel he is balanced and to give the survivors some ability to win.
There's no bad faith here, I'm just giving my perspective on your responses/what you consider to be counterplay to this and give you the reasons why I think these addons need to be changed. That's all
My intial point was the addons leave very little room for reaction

The counterplay IS mindgaming it. Make a read what the Blight is going to do and place yourself not in his way. You guess right, you dodge it. You don't, you get hit.
Isn't this just a repeat of what people said about old spirit then?
I don't get it
@konchok said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2829904#Comment_2829904
A blight has to commit to an action, once he's committed than that Blight is limited in what he can do. (This is more true for the Vial and less true for a blight running the turning add-ons) The better the Blight the more confident they are in their reads, which is why good blights can run the vial and bad blights cannot. What SuzuKR is saying is to bait the Blight into rushing and committing to the wrong thing. This can be done by faking vaults, using dead hard, pretending to jump from a ledge, etc.
A blight has to commit to an action, an action that he has multiple ways of making up for/correcting if he makes a mistake. Especially with the vial which gives him more tokens and makes them regenerate faster.
If the only legitimate counterplay to something moving this quickly is 'mindgame' then there's a problem.
You fake a vault, he corrects and hits you anyway because his hitbox is very generous
You use dead hard, congratulations - you're using one of the only perks that helps against the strongest killers in this game. You're also using the most universally complained about perk in the game
These are not actual ways to counterplay Blights, especially Blights that move so fast, can hit you around corners and so on.
-
@SuzuKR said:

You aren't supposed to. You're supposed to mindgame it.
"You aren't supposed to"
So you're saying it has no counterplay?
How do you mindgame something that moves that fast then?
-
I don't disagree, really
Just wish it didn't feel so required. Like no matter how well I play or how long I last in chase if I don't have DS then I'm the weak link if the killer decided to tunnel.
Not blaming killers for this either, I get why it's a tactic.
-
I like it as someone who plays a mixture of surv/killer
I like using it because it's nice info and it's nice to get a consolation kill if things don't go well
I like going against it when I'm the obsession bc it adds tension and fear that isn't usually there otherwise

Could be backfill, if a lobby takes awhile to fill up or a survivor backs out it can backfill worse survivors.
It happened to me today, awful team verse a very good huntress with good perks, it was a chore getting any gen done and they was all going down across map. I just moved onto the next game, no point dwelling on it as you cant do anything about it
Yeah you could be right
It'd be easier to not dwell on it if these games were outliers but this has been my experience basically all of the few hours I played today. Good killers with bad teammates. I'm punished for it with lower MMR which (if the system works) will put me with less experienced survivors and killers [?}
I even had one person intentionally trying to sandbag me to death. Jokes on them though, they died

Oh yeah I dont like it either, and I know exactly what you're on about my brother is down there 😂 hes not even bad but no one does anything, he often dies on first hook when the killers not even by it.
That's one reason I wanted the old ranking system tweaked not a new SBMM based off escapes and kills
It also feels like I'm being put with worse teammates but killers who are actually competent
It makes no sense at all

It may just be that my MMR for survivor isn't high enough to run into those builds. I still stand by the statement that the Vial add-on has more counter-play than non-vial.
Do you mind explaining the counterplay to a killer who moves so fast you barely have a window to react to them?

The point of Blighted crow with Adrenaline vial is just to make it more likely to hit an object if I were to miss the one I'm aiming for. Adrenaline Vial changes up Blight so much that you can't compare Blighted Crow use with and without Adrenaline vial. Blighted Crow is absolutely a strong add-on on its own but with Adrenaline Vial. Blighted crow just helps to make Adrenaline Vial that much crazier and exciting. It's a very high risk / reward build. And no, I haven't seen any other Blight other than myself run the 2 together because it is straight up asking for trouble using them together.
Well let me tell you from my experience I see that combo on basically every Blight I come across
It's either Vial/Crow, Vial/rat or double movement speed addon
I'll see the ring/the ultra rare from time to time but yeah
-

But the game wont match you with players all the same MMR. The devs have said they go for lobby time first, while they do get an average they will soon expand the bracket.
Honestly you shouldn't care about your rating, it's a bad mindset. I play solo and trust me some people are very bad lol. Not to mention a bubba can legit just face camp you on first hook for 0 reason lol.
This game is too rng and imbalanced to focus on your rating, and I find issues in every other game that shows them with people being petty over others sadly
I don't care about my rating
What I care about is the devs saying that escaping is the only expression of skill worth measuring in this game, and if you don't escape then you are "lower skilled" and should be matched with lower skilled opponents, which THEN leads you to dying even more because you're with people less experienced.
The term MMR hell? That's what that is
-
There's a big problem where if you decide not to run DS, if the killer decides to risk it - you essentially become the weak link in the team by default. People wonder why everyone runs DS, it's for this reason
Nobody likes being the weak link because they made 1 mistake
-
@konchok said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2829791#Comment_2829791
Because the add-on is super fun. And in a really balanced way. A competitive player would never run Adrenaline vial because a survivor who understands Blight can evade attacks much more easily. It's also much less forgiving when rushing. But the upside is more of the match spent rushing and less time playing as an M1 killer.
I don't really agree with you that the movement speed addons are balanced whatsoever
But you're entitled to your opinion and I respect that.

I'm kinds glad they dont show it, would cause more arguments and have a bunch of people comparing stats of people.
The way I see it is, I know I'm good, iv always been good at the game and other games. I dont need to prove it on forums, I'm happy with my place and that's how everyone should feel
(I do wish I'd see a bigger range of killers though, hoping a DH nerf will help that)
No I disagree, they should show us it
It would help to know if in solo q I'm being put with teammates who throw games/cause me to drop MMR because I'm low MMR myself or if the system just isn't working and I was put with people I shouldn't be
Solo Q is in the worst state its ever been in and its getting to the point where I'd rather just play killer instead. At least then when I lose it's all on me
-
or just ignore it like I do
stopped being funny when BHVR started embracing the joke, as with many other dbd memes

@konchok said:
I call bullshit so hard here. I believe you when you say that the perks and add-ons were probably the same on all the Blights that you faced, but even if a Blight you versed ran a non-sweaty build, I doubt that you'd go and say anything positive afterwards. In fact I'm pretty sure you'd be even more upset at losing to a Blight with a bad build.
And why do I say this.
Well for roughly about 2 months now I've been running, Brutal Strength, Fire-up, Bamboozle, BBQ and Adrenaline Vial and Blighted Crow. Do I get anyone commenting about how refreshing it is to see something other than the meta build. Never, not once. Do I have anyone commenting on how it's nice to see someone using something other than alchemist ring, never.
So, even if a Blight were to do exactly as you asked, you would just huff and puff about something else.
I mean you're half right but
Most blights use the addons you mentioned. The movement speed addons and the vial are the addons I've seen the most the past month or so

Oohh interesting. I figured they'd have those numbers encrypted since they're so secretive about them lol
I saw a cheater go into someones stream chat and he told them the MMR of every survivor/his mmr yeah
Not so hard to find out apparently
-
Cheaters can actually see peoples MMR
They are the only people who can, apart from BHVR I think
-
I hate Blight's movement speed addons, they need to be changed or made to not stack.
They continue to make the window to react smaller and smaller, which makes dodging his massive hitbox even harder. I can play against normal blight but a blight who's movement speed keeps changing is ridiculous
-
I've come to hate this system with a passion recently
SoloQ has turned into nothing more than "if you don't run DS then I hope you enjoy being the weak link"
You can play really well but if you mess up one time you're done for the whole game because killers want to make it 3v1 as fast as possible
-
He always has a voiceline when he teleports, which is how it was originally
The extra lines they added in would lose their charm if they were constant. You pick up and hook survivors a lot
He also has a few more context specific lines, like if you chain someone and down them in the exit gate area he goes "You will NOT escape me." which is such a nice touch.

Gametrag - his name in the game.
They can check the loadouts of all survivors in your trial including yours, by reporting the cheater they can easily identify him in the game as long as you also provide evidence of what he did. Steam players require ID64, but the others Epic MSStore or even console reporting goes for Gamertag.
Remember IN-GAME REPORT + TICKET
ACM (Associate Community Managers) have all the needed tools to identify and ban them.
Yeah problem
How can I report a dudes name if in the lobby his name comes up as a bunch of boxes
