If I feel like I've worked really hard for a win, I think I owe it to myself to 4k.
Either that or if I have a tome challenge that specifically states sacrificing survivors.
But most of the time if it was a good game I don't really care if they get hatch/gate. I'd rather not drag out the endgame because it's boring. I don't mind a good endgame chase every now and then but I think we're both eager to just move on by that point

Under the miraculous chances that they do get done, NOED just takes it all away.
Yeah it sucks that survivors put in all that effort only to have it taken away by one perk.
You know, you go through quite a lengthy process and then bam - because of one perk it feels like it was all for nothing.

You do not understand. The killer is toying with us. He ALLOWS us to do generators just to give us a false sense of security and let the perk carry them to further humiliate us.
My favourite part about noed is when you're on the last generator and you see a nearby dull totem light up
-
if killer is so easy like you claim it is sluzzy then survs won't do 5 gens anyway.
๐
-
I think the speed boost should stay since it adds a small amount of delay to an otherwise pretty oppressive chasing power
-
Nemesis probably belongs in the A tier ngl
He's one of my fav killers to play and face but I notice in a lot of my games they tunnel a lot. Sometimes to their own detriment (As in they continue chasing a survivor who they can't simply catch)
-
I think to get enough stalk for infinite T3 with both addons, you need to completely drain 2 survivors and stalk the third one for quite a bit. I remember when I did my Evil Incarnate achievement, I was ground to a halt because I couldn't find the two survivors who had stalk left
Keep in mind you also need to get to T2 as well, which takes stalk away from the initial survivor you find
it does stack as well.
-
A lot of people like it because it's typically known as Killer sided, even though a good survivor can make your life hell on Saloon
I think that's what I like about it though - the map doesn't play itself like Meat Plant or Cowshed - it takes some actual skill to run it well. Main building is kinda BS sometimes though but hey, main buildings usually are

Please don't compare dead hard to a massive slowdown build. It doesn't open the gates against a massive slowdown build, especially when the killer has incredible map pressure.
Yeah Sluzzy's right, please don't compare Dead Hard to slowdown perks
Slowdown perks actually have counterplay, getting better at survivor and not losing chase/getting hooked.

This is Not Happening would like a word with you
They even made fun of it a couple of halloweens ago, they made a charm that specifically made fun of 'This is Not Happening' being so awful
-
I won't stand for Demogorgon slander, his mobility is by far the weakest part of his kit and it only really comes into play during 3 gen scenarios - which I'm sure majority of us will agree is on the survivors if it happens. Not to mention, unlike the various other high mobility killers you can get rid of his portals. You can't stop Nurse from blinking though can you?
The killer won because he played better than you and your team. You said it yourself, he didn't take shortcuts by tunnelling and camping which he could have easily done since nobody had DS.
-
The worst part about Eyrie of crows is that its a culmination of everything wrong with all DBD maps.
Insane main building with breakable walls and a god pallet or two? Check
High amount of Super safe pallets that can easily be daisy chained into other surrounding tiles? Check
Insane size? Check
Generators that all hate each other and refuse to be too close? Check
-
I think gen rush does exist as a concept but it's not the same as efficient survivor play
To me gen rush is when a 4 man all bring good toolboxes with BNP and have loadouts specifically designed around generator repair speed. The usual stuff like prove thyself, resillience, streetwise, built to last - stuff that makes generators go as fast as possible.
Thankfully this doesn't happen too often these days, a lot of matches can feel like a 'gen rush' but there's usually a little bit more to it than that. Plus, in the current meta most people run corrupt
-
A lot more killers are forcing stage 2 these days, it's a super powerful shortcut
You either trade or let them hit 2nd stage. The worst part is without coordination, the 'grab game' as it's now known is tilted towards the Killer.
They either get a grab and double their pressure or a trade which is a free hook stage.

Thank you for answering my question I appreciate it and well I kind of messed up and did started on working on trying to max out who can I but oh well lol. I didnโt have much anyway but again I figured I ask because I was kind of confused by the newest update on The Max P3 level.
I wouldn't worry too much about it because the new changes to the system also make it so any character you prestige at least once will grant every other character you have their teachables at level 1
So e.g let's say Dredge comes out and I have Trapper at p1, My Dredge at level 1 will start with his perks as well as trapper's perks at tier 1. Something like that?
-
Placebo effect maybe?
Like at least 1 survivor will be injured at any given time, so maybe people think that constant 5% slowdown is impactful? Not sure.
I know some people run it so survivors waste time healing to get rid of it or they run it on killers where healing is either impossible or almost pointless.
-
A lot of Solo Q issues stem from investment in the match and a bit of selfishness.
E.g If you're playing with 3 friends, you know everybody's trying and won't give up instantly whereas in a lot of SoloQ games you have DCs, people giving up on hook, throwing and so on.
This brings me to the selfishness aspect - people aren't really incentivised to slog through a match that's not going so well. We've all had those matches where it's clear you can't win and you just want to get it over and done with. This isn't meant to demean people who think like this as I'm in this boat myself quite a bit
You have a dude suicide on hook because he doesn't like xyz so there's no point in trying further. Survivors are at a severe disadvantage in a 3 v 1, especially very early on.
-
Thankfully I got all the killers I care about to p3 already. The rest all have offerings I don't wanna lose like, I think one has 90 cakes or something like that.
What I'm doing right now is working on a few survivors that I like but never bothered getting to P3, might as well make use of the double BP week. I doubt the reward will be worth it but the BP was just gonna go to waste otherwise.
TBH It's probably not a good idea to prestige right now since you lose all your stuff, I'm doing it for my survivors because I have nothing on them anyway, I leveled them up for teachables, did their adept and then went back to my main

I'll find a way to use it. I have friends who are absolute fangirls over Silent Hill (Myself included) and we always make references like that.
'It's so weird to see James in high fidelity, man if he was that high-res in the original Silent Hill 2 I would've seen that plot twist coming a mile away. He has nothing behind those eyes.'
-
*Silent Hill offering*
'Did you take us to our special place?'
*Enthusiasticly* 'Yeah!'
-
Went against the Onyro while playing James. As soon as I dropped the third pallet on her face I said, 'Man James is over here showing this little girl what a true monster is.' followed immediately by a desperate 'James no!'
-
'Does referring to Cheryl as Heather count as dead naming her?'
'Risk I swear to God never ask anyone that question ever again.'
If you play James you are legally allowed to sandbag survivors who are infected by Nemesis or Plague. It's canonical.
Like Nemesis players tunnelling Jill & Chris.

Calling Pyramid Head 'The Shape' never ceases to amuse me.

That would explain it, any survivor didn't have killer perk so they were invisible, I guess.
Again this is speculation but it's possible a cheater was doing this to make it seem like you were the one cheating

I think Cheaters can put on Killer perks, not 100% sure though
Maybe they somehow forced Dead Man's Switch & Pain res into the game

Ohhhhh! That makes sense! I thought it would affect gens at all times regardless if I was in frenzy or not. Thank you for the help! I was so confused haha
Not a problem!
There's also some weird things I'm not sure about, like
Supposedly the frenzy regression stacks with Ruin, making gens regress even faster or smth like that. No clue how it works with regular regression either
It's a cool addon tho, esp the chase music part of it.
-
I think the idea behind the addon is whenever you are in frenzy, gens auto regress only during frenzy and not outside of it to combo with the ability to see generator repair intensity
The way the addon is worded implies the regression only happens while in frenzy only, does seem a bit weird for it to stop regressing a gen when you end frenzy but maybe that's unintended it's hard to say

This isn't a problem for me. I interact with the killer every match. I'm just giving my opinion on the idea of survivors evading the killer for too long being considered holding the game hostage. This, in my opinion, is freaking ridiculous. Add a surrender option for killers. Problem solved and no one gets banned.
Why should a Killer (Such as in OP's example) surrender when they've basically won already which is typically when this kind of hostage taking occurs
When it becomes clear you can't win as a survivor, you shouldn't try to drag the match out like the survivors in his video did.

Oh I'm not ignoring what you're saying. I'm just saying I find it completely ridiculous. And AGAIN the answer to this is not to report or potentially penalize survivors for doing it. The answer (in my opinion) is to add a surrender option so people can play how they want in these situations without fear of getting banned. I have literally never once in any of my matches or any matches I have seen witnessed survivors evade the killer for long periods of time (15+ minutes for example). If it has happened, its not happening so much that its a freaking epidemic in the game. Be reasonable please.
Nobody's saying it's an epidemic though
They just pointed out that people who intentionally go out of their way to not play the game and waste everyone's time can get banned for doing it repeatedly
If you play DBD normally it will never impact you. Ever

Killers can progress the game too by finding survivors. I'm sorry but I'm not convinced that this is in any way a problem so big that it has to be considered taking the game hostage. The survivors would ALWAYS have to prevent the crows from spawning. That requires a lot of movement with only mere seconds (I think?) of being idle. If a match happens now and then that the killer is unable to find anyone for a long time that doesn't mean its causing the game to be unplayable for the masses. And again, this is why a SURRENDER option needs to be added to both sides, or the very least to killers. The bias in opinions here on this is insane.
You really aren't getting the point
Or you're completely ignoring it
Either way I'm gonna repeat it once more:
Intentionally going into a match as a role and ignoring your primary objective just to waste the other sides time is not okay and should be something that is punished. Finding survivors normally isn't super hard because not everybody runs 4 stealth perks and doesn't touch a generator ONCE during a match
I'll break it down as simple as I possibly can:
Survivors do generators, Killer check generators = Killer find survivors and chase. Normal gameplay
Not
Survivors never touch generators, Killer wander around empty map for 10 minutes until they get lucky
Survivors hiding when they need to isn't the problem, literally nobody is saying that.

"But doesn't get found."
Again, 4 survivors aren't going to hide from a killer forever. Forcing them to do gens at the risk of getting reported for "holding the game hostage" goes against what I consider a fundamental part of a horror game which is HIDING from the killer. We have lockers in the game. We have crows in the game. Crows will spawn on any survivor that doesn't keep moving and if a survivor is moving its only a matter of time before the killer finds them. I've never had a match where anyone was able to hide from the killer for a half hour or longer. I think I've had maybe 5 matches that maybe lasted that long due to 3 gen but never because someone hid that long from the killer. I completely disagree with this. They can recognize whatever they want as however they see it, and me as a customer can criticize it as a form of feedback. I just don't how this is a major problem so much so that it needs to be recognized as holding the game hostage.
If you set out to do it, it is very easy to hide from the killer for upwards of ten minutes at a time. I've had this happen to me, a full 4 man all with stealth perks quite literally wasted 15 minutes of my time just hiding and not touching a generator once. That's not okay.
Crows do not solve this, because they require you to be idle for a certain amount of time and simply walking/crouch walking around and then going into lockers will completely circumvent this
If you don't see how survivors completely disregarding their primary objective (aka not playing the game) and just wasting time until they die isn't holding the game hostage, I don't know how to better explain it to you.
If a game is an obvious loss (Like in the OP's video), then why waste your own and the killer's time by hiding instead of trying to do the objective/die trying.
This is why the hatch is a thing, by the way. In the event that the Killer sacrified 3 people and 1 person was left, they would have no quick option for the game to end.
@KateMain86 said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/2967797#Comment_2967797
And the idea here is because the killer can't see survivor perks before the match its suddenly a potential problem? And again, how often do people do this? If there are perks in the game that are literally revolved around hiding from the killer then it shouldn't be reportable for doing this for prolonged periods of time. This is a killer issue, not a survivor issue. It would be better to have a surrender option on both sides for situations like this then potentially penalizing someone for playing the game how they want with stealth perks. I'm a bit boiled over about this.
Again, if you can't see the problem with people going into a game and completely ignoring their primary objective then I don't know what to tell you. These survivors I mentioned literally go into matches with the intention of wasting the killer's time for as long as possible while not doing the primary objective of their role.
Survivors deciding to not play the game is a SURVIVOR problem. Period.

Right... and you do realize its a bit unreasonable to think survivors have any kind of major power over the ability of the killer to hold the game hostage. Want to know why? Killers are immune to damage. Survivors are not. If a survivor manages to hide from the killer well enough to not be found by them (which I thought was a fundamental part of the game) then thats honestly the killer's fault and well played on the survivor part. The fact that they think a survivor crouching in corners (a place where killers can go too by the way) to "hold the game hostage" is pretty lame in my opinion. I completely disagree with this and think they are dead wrong on that take.
Actually survivors do hold power over the game state
If nobody does gens but doesn't get found and hooked then the game literally cannot end. Stealth is a means to avoid dying but doing generators is the survivors primary objective. If you're not doing gens or hell even trying to do gens, you're not progressing the game state
Blaming the killer for survivors hiding is also such an ignorant way to dismiss the problem - It's not about finding or not finding the survivors. It's about how they are simply wasting your time and not even trying to progress the game.
-
I've seen squads (Full 4 mans) set out to do this kind of thing from the start
They burn maps like Yamaoka or RPD and put on full stealth builds; Calm Spirit, Distortion, Lightweight, Urban, Spine chill - mixtures of all the usual stealth perks and then they simply just hide from the start. No touching gens, no chases nothing
When you find one they just give up and let you kill them.
Luckily for me, the times I've came across these groups I was running Whispers ๐

@tippy2k2 right, no tunnel scores are too high.
@Wampirita right, I'm solo Q top two are SWF.
@Brokenbones good logic, could have been the case.
@A_Skinny_Legend farming was indeed involved
This is what happens when you're the one survivor wanting to play the game while the others, including Killer, want to farm blood points, left on the hook to die.
I expect this to happen a lot with the P3 rush.
Damn
That's tragic.
Did the killer want to farm from the start or did they just give up?
-
Hmmm...
You got 6k points, most of which I'm going to assume were boldness related. I'm going to assume you had a semi-decent chase with the Killer at which point you were probably camped to second stage. Gens were being done in the background while this was going on
Then one of your teammates comes and unhooks you without BT and you are essentially farmed and re-hooked; dead and out of the game. By this point, all it takes is one more good chase and the killer loses the game.
Factoring in the points of your teammates minus their escape scores:
Top survivor got: 23k, likely the survivor who got chased after you died
2nd to top got: 15k (This is also assuming he was the obsession due to DS)
Middle got: 15k
Alternative angle: The top 2 survivors spent the whole game bullying the killer while you did gens in the background and then you got caught last second and left to die. Less likely due to the points, I feel like if this were the case you'd have maxed out objective at least.
