Solo queue needs help. We need information! Disappointing there's nothing coming any time soon of something like base kindred (without killer aura ofc) or perk loadouts being shown for other teammates, being able to see the difference between a hex totem being cleansed, dull or blessing a totem in the hud, more anti-tunnel perk options, better gen spread on maps... etc.
Dredge needs more lockers on locker scarce maps, hawkins could use an update to balance it out better for both sides. There's a lot to be done.

Well, you are more motivated to find hatch...
I don't see this as big deal, you will still have situations where you are at killer's mercy.
You don't even need specific killer, you are not going to leave against No way out, or Whispers.
You can look at it this way, the harder you are going to make gate escape for killers, the more killers are going to slug for 4k.
Yeah. Just disappointing to be the last survivor and they found hatch first and the killer just pukes on it and now you can't do anything lol. You just can't do anything in that scenario unless you have sole survivor and the gates are on the opposite side of a bigger map and you get lucky.

Oh yeah, I've had some fun snowball fights too & I also understand that the game isn't exactly easier on the survivor side. But what can happen is
- One gen pops by the time a couple of survivors figure out you're chill and just want to mess around
- Two survivors come out and you just mess around for a minute or two
- Two gens pop because the other two survivors aren't on board
The hell do I even do in that scenario? Hunt down the two people doing gens so the game isn't over in three minutes? But the first two will likely get bored and just get back to playing the game normally too. These situations are really frustrating.
Yeah having 4 people can be difficult as everyone is doing their own thing so coordinating them together to particpate in having some fun and chilling is almost impossible. Kinda have to throw as killer if u wanna have fun sadly
-
Well survivors can't really afford messing around too much especially since killers are tunneling a lot.
It's an endless cycle of killers are tunneling so survivors gotta escape and leave as well as survivors are gen rushing, killers gotta tunnel to get kills. So it's like 💁♂️ What can you do. Both sides forcing each other to be sweaty 24/7.
Fortunately I've had some fun snowball fights with those willing to not take the time during event so seriously, both as killer and survivor against apposing sides
-
There's no gameplay advantage to play survivor during event... it's just snowballs and snowmen, of which both sides can use and snowballs do nothing and snowmen are essentially lockers but killers can also use them.
-
The whole cosmetics store is over-priced. Crazy how 1 cosmetic outfit costs much more than a dlc that actually gives more content/gameplay in this game.
-
Not skull merchant talking about not having fun in a match and sad they have to wait til the end 😭
-
I don't think he'll leave. He's built up his audience with dead by daylight content. I just think he needs to mix it up a little in terms of different games (which seems to be what hes doing) cause yeah he probs burnt out
-
Yeah idk why but it seems it always favours killers ping over survivors even though I think it should favour whoever has the best ping of the two but yeah, survivors just have to deal getting hit 20 miles away and killers being generally fine.

Yes, it's that way right now because there is no major p100 reward. People who want to take a character to p100 do it because they want to do it, not because they feel like they have in order to obtain something cool. Imagine if they made a kickass cosmetic for p100 or a custom emote. Anyone who isn't p100 would feel like they're missing out on something (FOMO) and try to reach p100 to obtain that, rather than just doing it for fun or for pride.
Yeah. I was thinking more along the lines of a new profile icon or banner rather than something that would be really wanted like a cosmetic, cause then I think people would actually be upset about that but not so much an icon or something
-

Indeed. Same reason why Feng gets so many cosmetics while some survivors have to wait for a long time to get anything.
True, prioritise the popular market rather than evenly distributing across all original survivors. I think they're doing a little better now though in that regard but yeah still happens.
-
I personally never face pig, like very rarely do I see her, and even more rarely do I have a tunneling head trap pig. So it's not too much of a concern for me but in solo q it is unfun for that player, as there's not a lot you can do, you can't tell your teammates to wait to pop gens or get them to takes hits, or tell them to leave so you can escape through hatch. Especially with screaming perks it can be a nightmare, so I can see where you're coming from. But because she's so rare, I don't know that it's much of a priority or necessity rn at least.

I thought exactly the same.
But there is one difference: They don't see any money from P100 Rewards, but from those cosmetics.
Sad times 😔
-
The ones I never have fun against I'd say is Trickster, Knight and skull merchant. Never have I played a match against them where I thought this is fun

Yes, grinding to p100 for a reward is a soul sucking experience and will destroy most people's enjoyment of the game. You do not want to incentivize people to do that more than they already are. The moment you introduce a really cool p100 reward, people will burn out trying to get it.
Spending money in the store is instant :)
Yeah, but p100 doesn't have to be grinded for, the rewards can be for whenever, you could decide to take it slow instead. Like I don't have a p100, but I have all characters p3 at least and have Yui and huntress almost p30. But no rewards for having a prestige higher than p6, which I feel like is odd considering their fomo thing and it would incentivize more people to play to earn something. But thats just me, but I like earnables and free things

Face camping is where you litterly stand in their face, the rest is proxy. End of story.
I'm pretty sure the categories are facecamping, camping and proxy camping. But anyways, my post is the point here and the point is that this mechanic should work when you are camping basement (basically face camping, not the hook but basement itself). You can read more below of why it should even though people call it anti-facecamp
@Halloulle said:
This whole communications spin about it being an anti FACEcamping is what bugs me the most about it. Simply because it doesn't at all align with their own stated goal. Either, they changed the actual goal - or they failed to accomplish that goal. What is the goal you ask?
Just have a look a the dev update from September:
"You probably don’t want to find yourself on the hook in the first place, but it can quickly become frustrating if the Killer decides to wait nearby, preventing all but the most coordinated of teams from rescuing you. Camping has long been a contentious topic: While there are times where camping is the smart thing for the Killer to do (if there are Survivors nearby, for example), there’s not much the Survivor being camped can do. To help in the most extreme cases, we are introducing a new feature which may give you a second chance."
That Bubba on top of the stairs checked all the boxes for "the most extreme cases" ; it's impossible for the team to rescue the hooked survivor, it's not "the smart thing to do" and there's literally nothing the survivor being camped an do (even if they deliverance-d or kobe-d Bubba could easily chainsaw them through endurance - or just block them and M1 them - before they even left shack).

EXACTLY. Like the whole mechanic is to prevent unsaveable hook scenarios with killers being way too close... but for some reason basement negates that? Doesn't make sense to me
-
Tunneling seems to be at its peak so survivors are having to just do gens as fast as possible in order to escape. But then on the flip side killers are having to tunnel because survivors are doing gens so fast... It's an endless cycle.
Also these two perks are completely fine. And survivors have indeed had nerfs just like killers, killers gets buffs, survivors get buffs, it's not a one sided thing in terms of perk buffs and nerfs.... You say no survivor nerf but MFT which is argueably the strongest exhaustion perk got nerfed...

That's how BHVR makes money. It's a marketing tactic called FOMO.
It's crazy cause they don't wanna add prestige 100 rewards because of fomo but then do this...

no, what you describe is proxy.
Proxying camping is coming back and forth to the hook and staying in the general area. Standing at a hook is facecamping, he is facecamping basement. No one can get the save without being downed, that is what the mechanic is there to prevent. Therefore the mechanic should work properly for basement.
-

Thats were you are wrong, proxy camping is not the same as face camping.
Its not proxy camping. He is standing on basement stairs. Thats as face camping while not face camping as you can get. The mechanic should still apply.
-
@[Deleted User] said:
its not an anti-camp, its anti-facecamp. That means the killer is standing in front of your face, if you end up in the basement and the killer is upstairs they are not in your face. - The basement is ment to be a dangerous place, stay a way from it :)
I'd say if they are able to just stand and prevent anyone from going to save, thats basically just a different form of face camping. Also it doesn't matter if you stay away from basement because agitation and iron grasp exists. The mechanic needs to work if you are in close proximity aka face camping and standing on basement.
-
@jonifire said:
It does, only very slow and when teammates are close, it stops or slows down.
It must be extremely slow cause no one was around
-
@Feneroe said:
The mechanic is supposed to stop facecaming, which it does.
It's essentially face camping cause it doesn't get him to be a distance away, he's right there preventing anyone from going.
-
Honestly the best way to do this challenge I found is just to abandon trying to flashlight save a survivor and just follow them to the hook and blind the killer while they're hooking. The killer is still considered to be carrying the survivor while they hook so you can get the challenge done very easily that way. You can also throw on background player to guarantee you get a good angle at the hook to be able to blind.
Trying to do flashlight saves just took too long and doing hook blinds was an instant challenge done.
-
That addon is over kill. And lockers(or any interactable) are quite literally the only counter to it, which isn't really a counter since either way you die, but one way is instantly and another is a small chance to live a little longer.
But this post is probably bait because... what. Who would say this extremely strong addon needs more help lol.
-
I think a spider-like killer would look and be so cool. idk if they'll do it, I'm not sure how common it is to have Arachnophobia. But we do have the clown and there are people who are afraid of clowns so who knows. Although I'm not a fan of spiders, I'm not afraid of seeing them as long as they aren't directly next to me in real life 😅 So maybe some arachnophobes would be able to cope with seeing them in the game.
Also... you want what?

Nah, it actually is unfair if you think about it; Survivors get a 4% chance to screw over an earned outcome, but there's no converse chance for a "screw you" type of event happening to survivors like tripping and falling once per trial while running. Plus there's the issue of bypassing the dc penalty by giving up on hook.
Survivors rely on other survivors to unhook them/survive. Killer's don't rely on anyone else, these are very different roles that you can't 1 for 1 compare. That 4% is a chance to potentially unhook yourself when no one else will. The giving up on hook is a separate thing but the core of getting a small chance to unhook yourself is not broken.
-
4% is 4%. That's a very low chance of occurring, it's not very often I get off hook with a 4% or see 4% occur as killer, you can just stand at the hook and secure the killer in case they 4%. And basekit bt is 10 seconds, it's not very hard to wait it out and down them if you aren't hooking them directly next to the exit gates or injure, then down the unhooker (or attempted unhooker). Imagine no basekit bt at endgame... killers could just instadown the survivor, the only option for their team would be to let them die on that hook or unhook and have them die on hook... thats a guranteed kill for killers. Basekit bt and 4% aren't an issue, I just think you got unlucky and/or didn't play end game optimally.
-
His visibility should be improved when not in power, make the ghost permanent but remove it in hidey ho mode, keeping the stealth aspect purely to his power, which I think makes more sense and balances him out nicely. Cause right now trying to loop him whether in power or not on anything taller than him is very very difficult.
-
I had no problem with chucky, think I got it on the 2nd game. The only one I am struggling with is singularity
-
I believe this collection will include Yui, Jane, Nurse and Hag (although she isn't in the image for whatever reason)
-
Hopefully just making her a little faster at the most. She's perfect otherwise the way she is! I would be very disappointed if they ended up messing with her too much.

SoloQ has been pretty much unplayable for a couple of months for me. Constant P100 Nurses and Blights who didn't just sink a lot of BP into their characters, but also a lot of time since they are really good at playing.
Teammates not running a full anti-tunnel build to carve out a couple of extra seconds.
Giving up against very weak killers (don't get me wrong, I'm not outright happy to see a Legion or a Singularity, but this Kate gave up on hook after she ran a Larry for three gens and the last two gens were started as well, like what the hell?).
SoloQ is just not worth it right now. The game might be the most balanced it has ever been, but it is also the most stale and boring experience.
Very true 😔

@rha said:
I'll be completely honest, I 100% would have killed myself, too. You say "I get that it was a bad start but yall still had a chance, I wasn't gonna end the game at 5 gens with 3 slugs, I'm not a comp player" but 99.99% of killers happily take the 4k at 5 gens and solo queue is frustrating enough.
I need to play for hours to have just one good game. Can't repeat it often enough, if you want people to not give up that early then ask the devs to improving matchmaking so that solo queue is a better experience. I never kill myself because I'm having a bad game when I start off playing for the day, I'm killing myself because I had nothing but bad games for 3-4 hours and finally want a single good one as quick as possible and sticking in a lost match for five more minutes makes a difference to me at this point.
Small hint if you really want to be nice, if I want to give up and throw myself at the killer and the killer doesn't hook me I will typically take this as a sign that the killer wants to play fair and not camp, tunnel or otherwise sweat hard, and I'll motion the killer to come and chase me and keep playing normally after that and not kill myself when hooked.
Well maybe this match wasn't the best example. But too often and too early in a match if I quickly down someone (or the killer when I play survivor) they dc or kill themselves on hook, leaving their teammates to suffer. Solo queue is very painful, I am definitely frustrated by solo queue too and will dc or off myself in certain situations, but removing yourself from the match early either because it's a specific killer, certain map, got downed too quick or whatever just seems too much and very sucky for your team who then reap the consequences of that. Bhvr definitely has a part to play in improving this, but so do other survivors tbh.

A simple 5 second buff like it originally was shouldn't take 6 months lmao
True, but it isn't unlike bhvr to take a while to implement something simple tbh.

@Vanishlord said:
For me since Chucky came out its been a bit better. But up until then they have been horrific. Tunnelling this early in the game is terrible for survivors. I had been maining killer for the last month to try preserve myself until Chucky came out. Thankfully it has gotten better and I hope it does for you too.
On a side note does anyone know if DS is getting a buff or a rework next year?
Hopefully it will improve.
As for DS, I don't think it's confirmed of what they're doing with the perk but they are doing something with it within the next 6 months as they mentioned it in the live stream, but whether they're buffing it or completely changing it I have no idea. I feel like it's more likely just a small buff to a 5 second stun (as thats been requested a lot) but who knows.

@Gastongard said:
Solo q is just painful and miserable, but what do you expect when Behaviour have solo q in the last place in their list of priorities. So we might see an improvement in a few years, maybe we get to see teammates perks, who knows
Yeah... introducing something as simple as showing how each survivor is participating in the match in the survivor hud took years before it was implemented (Being still a relatively recentish thing). And in dbd mobile you can see each others perks... but not the main game? And no mentions of it even being on the radar? Sigh. Wish they would focus on solo queue and be transparent about progress with it.
-
It is a difficult challenge as killers tend to face walls or object as thats the smart thing to do! In solo queue, trying to trail someone and get a flashlight save is very difficult as they don't get downed in very ideal spots.
I think using background player is the best bet, along with maybe empathy (or bond is you're close enough) to see where the chased survivor is to be able to flashlight save. But yeah it is difficult, I had that challenge equipped for a few or so games and only got 1 save.

Weapons definitely shouldn't be linked to many of the sets for killers.
I've glitched out countless set skins in my life and weapons never had any clipping issues.
Heads in many cases, when swapped, created cursed abnormalities, so in those cases i fully understand them being locked, but if skin doesn't change proportions of the main model and every element still aligns with the base when swapped, said cosmetic SHOULDN'T be a set.
Good example of it is the God of Desire for Trickster, which literally causes NO problems when swapping elements, even with the new animations of the skin.
Sets should be revisited, especially for killers, or at least they should think twice before locking a normal looking skin behind a set
I didn't even think about killer weapons! Cause that's extremely true, probably the most unnecessary cosmetic to be linked.

Well, I think the Solo Q situation became much better for me (I escaped 5 times in a row by exit gate as Solo Q), but this might be due to mmr or server difference. Hope you to have some good teammates.
Thanks I hope so too. I do tend to play towards night time, idk if the survivors and killers are just a different breed at night but yeah.

Unfortunate that it's so backed up. As it's been a discussion for a long while now. I just wanna use Yui's dark racer hair or Kate's greek hair with other fits 😭 The potential is endless!

Nooooooo, I don't want knight to be playable 😭 Bhvr pls add base mft and hope all game against just knight. Or you know maybe just delete him... that would be easier.

The best part about him... playing as him... worst part... playing against him o.o
But for real, he is very fun to play as, being a lil guy and mind gaming around loops and being undetectable and sneaking up on people, plus the third person is pretty cool.

Very weird. When I went to play the game and saw the change in rarity I thought that the price would've changed too. I can't see the price anymore in-store since I already own the cosmetic, but it's good to know that they're not selling it for less than what I bought it for. Makes sense to why Behavior rejected my refund XD
If you don't mind, I've used the screenshot you posted on this discussion in a bug report to show that the price has stayed the same as the rarity has changed.
Very odd indeed. I don't know how this would have occurred. And yeah feel free to use the screenshot :)
