  • Yeah the Oni nerf really didn't do anything. Your gonna have to do something else like increase the blood requirement needed to activate rage mode

  • @MichaelTheBlimpedFox said:

This one isn’t going to be popular with the killer mains who play him but this post is a long time coming. Billy should not be able to spam his chainsaw all game long considering how much smaller maps are getting, loops being more fair to manage as killer and pallet density has been nerfed with even some pallets being generally unsafe.

My suggestion to fix Billy and make him much for fair for survivors to go against him? Chainsaw charges like Leatherface to give Billy a proper cooldown to prevent killers from just spamming chainsaw all game long. Yes it is a nerf but a fair nerf. I like the idea of him keeping his overdrive mechanic the hotter it goes the faster you run and charge the chainsaw.

Look it’s not a matter of what “FEELS GOOD” or is BORING” it’s a matter of giving the survivors a chance without zero counter play when Billy can just immediately try again once he misses without getting a charge back. I am not at all survivor sided I’m just trying to be fair. It’s like Oni who has access to his power all game long in this current Billy meta.

I’m sure killer mains aren’t going to be happy with this one, but that’s my opinion.

Bro basically wants the overheat mechanic back

Pure speculation but that's what I've been seeing so take it with a grain of salt

Slinger gives me mad performance anxiety/stage fright you feel like the whole lobby is watching you so there's huge pressure to not miss, otherwise survivors will stop respecting you and start getting bold. but if I can have numbers backing me up maybe I can just let er rip

Definitely agree about the performance anxiety

Don’t play killer on 2v8 then if it’s that unfun for you. I actually enjoyed playing killer and did pretty well in 2v8 - the only time I didn’t get 5K+ is if my teammate was terrible. The survivors in 2v8 are usually pretty bad, so I never felt like it was difficult to get downs quickly. And I am not a great player by any means. I guess my point is that I didn’t feel like the mode was too survivor sided to not have a good chance to win as killer in most matches.

I don’t see how this is “survivor bias”. I’m a 50/50 player and my opinions come from how I feel the balance is from both points of view. Killers definitely more difficult in 2v8 than 1v4, but as I and others have said, it is supposed to be. If you want easier killer games, then just don’t play 2v8. I don’t understand why you would wait 15-20 minutes to play killer if you aren’t enjoying it.

Edit: I played a some survivor matches today and the first few were just a total disaster. 2v8 is a quite a reality check to remind me how many bad players there are. Nearly everyone lasting less than 10 seconds in chase, cowering in corners, refusing to go near gens. The killers in those matches certainly had a very easy time.

Haha no I will continue to advocate until there is enough uproar till Devs are forced to do something

good thing i left the dbd game a long time ago due to very repetitive gameplay/ nothing in dbd ever changes

the game is a huge money grab due to most of the content behind a paywall ticks me off considering i paid over 600 dollars on this game and i wasted 5 months of life and lets be honest have you ever noticed when players get really upset they put up 2v8 and say look old game mode new content / the content is just small fixes at this rate minecraft releases more content considering they only update once or twice a year and that says something.

Then why are you still here?

  • I've seen Nemis punching Zombies maybe killing them makes them spawn more then 1?

  • Those buffs are a complete joke Ghoul will be the highest reigning pick rate until they continue nerfing him

  • @EntityNea said:

I know this forum loves just downvoting posts that complain about features,
but can somebody make any good counter arguments outlining why you disagree, and explain why you think Knight is well-designed?

Because to me, it just seems like a poorly designed killer that can be easily abused when playing as him.

So maybe if you can overlook your lack of knowledge of this killer you can see their isn't a problem as people have already pointed

  • @Your_Dad_Playing_DbD said:

I am very sympathetic to the killer side, but we have to remember that 2v8 already has way too many people who want to play killer and not enough people who want to play survivor. So I am totally fine with killer being more difficult/survivor being easier in 2v8. We need to incentivize more people to want to choose the survivor side. I don’t care if this is an unpopular opinion because it’s simply a fact of the numbers.

    @Aven_Fallen said:

2v8 HAS to be survivor-sided. It is quite clear that there are still not enough Survivors playing the mode, simply because the gameplay for Survivor is the same as before. Killer has a new experience with playing with a friend, but thats about it. If you start to increase the time you have to spend on Gens, you will just move more Survivors away from 2v8, which then makes it harder for Killers to find games. I mean, sure, there is play while you wait, but I think most people who queue for Killer rather endure playing a few Survivor games to get into a Killer game than actually wanting to play those Survivor games.

It already is a Survivor sided mode we could completely Skullmerchant treatment the killer side and their still wouldn't be enough survivor players. Toss aside your survivor bias for one sec to recognize how atrocious gen speeds has gotten in 2v8 I get you want survivors to be the dominant side but this is not how it should be with matches ending so fast

  • I generally don't think you can balance current nurse cause of how her kit is designed she would need a total power rework.

But surprisingly a great suggestion I saw for balancing Nurse is she can't see Auras with charging blink kinda like when Spirit phases you can't see auras.

  • @SoGo said:

The queues are always a perfect example of why 2v8 should never be added permanently.

No one wants to wait half an hour for one killer match.

Additionally, with 2v8 being a 2-4 week thing that comes every once in a while, it retains a bit of novelty. You lose that if it's a permanent addition

Except it will be a permanent addition eventually they ain't putting in this work just for it to be a montly mode forever

  • @OnryosTapeRentals said:

I don't mind the mode being more casually balanced than the main game, but the on-demand Sprint Burst has GOT to be removed. It renders all of the non-dash Killers completely unviable.

I don't mind it being casual either not it being Survivor dominated 60/40 however Gen speeds has gotten completely ridiculous I don't care if they give Survivor more incentives like more BP to play in exchange for slower gems but something has to be done.

As someone who actually likes playing Trapper and is a huge fan of AoT… I'm still not going to buy this. A $15 legendary skin that comes with nothing new other than a janky looking menu animation is laughable. Hell, they actually removed his spawning-in animation from mobile 😂

Plus no mori you should not be able to charge 15$ if I doesn't come with a mori slash that down to a 10$ skin

I miss the days when perks were simple in design. Nowadays, particularly with survivor perks, it feels like there’s really specific prerequisites to get some (if any) use from them. That’s why I think so many of the perks from the last couple years have such poor pick rates. Why would anyone run oddly specific and niche perks when the likes of Adrenaline, Lithe, Kindred etc are all part of the base game?

Look at Lara’s perk “Hardened”… complete these two side-objectives (cleanse totem/rummage chest) to get the pay-off of not screaming. Oddly specific considering screaming isn’t part of most killer’s powers, and you only see scream perks on specific killers/builds. Statistically, there’s a good chance you could run this perk and get absolutely no value.

Whilst I’m a firm believer that meta perks should have prerequisites to activate, I think a perk can still be simple in design and worth running, without being game breaking. Thats why you see the same perks over/over again: they range from meta, to situational/mid, to pretty useless.

what do you meannn I love having to open a chest and do 50% of a gen and eating a totem and be chased by a killer for 90 seconds while files my taxes to activate my perk

  • I think thats the big ol problem doing all those requirements just to get a fragile pallet is pointless it's bad and not useful if it was a regular pallet then people would run it

You could either either A remove the requirement and it still wouldn't be good to run or B make the fragile pallet a regular pallet but increase the requirement

    NoeD can be cleansed
    Batteries has a range
Rancor only effects the obsession and is active at the endgame
    Deadlock isn't permanent

Are we playing the same game?

Still by your own definition "permanent" and rewards for failing your just looking for ways to justify your one sided bias

  • @OmegaXII said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/466748/fast-track-and-perk-activation-requirements

Because Fast Track PERMANENTLY speeds up Survivor's Objective by doing NOTHING.

This is a serious problem because the faster the Gens, the higher the chance you escape. So bring Fast Track = More Escape.

All those perks you mentioned do not speed up your progress to win the game, that's why they're fine.

PS: Seriously, I can't imagine anyone with decent hours actually defend Fast Track.

By that logic things that grant permanent Haste, Kills and progression blocking and slowing for failing on the Killer side is not good for the game either. So I expect, Noed, Batteries, Rancor, Deadlock to be massively nerfed as well

I hear you on that and understand where concerns like that can come from. While I can't promise you specific timelines, I can promise that I'm here to make sure the team gets a clear idea of what folks like you are feeling. For that, I'd love to dig into the specifics with you: When you say that balance is broken right now, is there something (or somethings) specific that's at the core of this for you?

I understand folks' bigger-picture concerns and worries about diminishing returns impacting build crafting, but if there are specific combos causing you friction or perks you feel have been especially impacted, I'd love to get your POV!

Diminishing Returns is just poorly implemented not only does this not affect meta perk extremes it only hurts already weak perks combos, Also not including add-ons was a mistake since specific stacking builds with Killers with busted add-ons in tandem with perks fails this whole meaning of adding diminishing returns

  • The latest patch notes has revealed new Fast Track

    Survivor Perk Updates Fast Track

    • Unhooking a Survivor grants 1 token, up to 1/2/3.
    • Hitting a Great Skill Check consumes all tokens:
      • Each token adds 5% permanent generator progress (was 2%)

Do you guys think it's still op?

  • @cogsturning said:

The problem I consistently see is this: very good Nurses and Blights win, but bad Nurses and Blights lose; bad Ghouls will still win. Powerful killers should also be at least kinda challenging to play, but even if the player is bad at looping, the mobility makes them able to constantly be on top of someone or in a new chase. Toning down the ability would be nice.

He is also annoying and tremendously unfun to play against.

Basically what I think the ghoul needs like his grab attack should no longer lock Survivors in place and also either A only serve to enrage ghoul no longer injuring or B take more effort like you need to Kagune Mark survivors first before you can injure and enrage.

Other parts of his Kit is problematic as well like between Kagune Leaps he can hold his power for 5 seconds and has fast move speed to worm around objects and loop tiles compared to Wesker who only can hold his power between rushes for 3 seconds and doesn't have enough move speed to worm around objects and tiles unless you have the addon.

Finally his Kagune leap Cancel and slowdown is extremely short and has no attack cooldown which why players feel he's not fair compared to other killers.

  • @Your_Dad_Playing_DbD said:

I play survivor quite a bit and Ghoul is still probably my least favorite killer to go against even after his nerfs. It’s like going against Legion but way more annoying. Super easy to zip all over the map and get free EZ hits, then constant mend simulator. I can’t imagine that anyone on the survivor side actually enjoys going against Ghoul. It’s not even a matter of him being OP - it’s just super annoying and boring.

People do call Ghoul Legion 2.0 cause he basically is that but with an extreme amount of mobility in terms of strength imagine if Legion was 3x more faster in Feral Frenzy and has half the end power cooldown and behold that's basically the ghoul

I'd argue his dash is better than Chucky's.

It's quieter, much easier to control, shreds pallets and instadowns.

Yes, Chucky can chain windows and pallets but how many maps realistically allow that? Lèry's and Greenville if we are being generous.

Myers dash is better then Chuckys. Unrestricted turning, is an insta down, Faster, can break pallets, he's pretty much just the Oni. Also isn't Chucky 110% move speed? I geuss just him being small means he has to be slow af

I'd say Springtrap and Henry weren't like that. Springtarp is fine, and Henry takes some effort. Krasue, at least, got nerfed. So it's a mix with the newer ones.

I'd like to see Ghoul's real numbers, with the DC matches included. The numbers we've seen are probably only half his matches, if even. The DCs with him are off the charts. That alone should tell them enough. But even what we've seen is concerning. He was the only killer with both a higher KR and a high pick rate. It's not mains or skilled players carrying the numbers, it's everyone doing well.

Pretty glad I don't see many Micheals anymore though, which is a shame.

Springtrap is ok, Henry I don't count cause he takes decent effort and isn't as simple compared to ghoul, Krause I'd say is still simple and strong she's just boring to play that's why we don't see her often so im guessing devs are just shelfing her. But yeah we need to see the ghouls other numbers

So do killers only have an enjoyable time if the killer is braindead easy to get wins on?

Ghoul exists so yes but fr though I've been seeing a pattern where new killers and reworks designs are very easy where the skill floor is significantly raised and the ceiling low.

The next problem is Devs ain't gonna do anything about it because since they see no problem with this since they confirmed they ain't gonna do anything about Ghoul and even though his pickrate is astronomically high since his kill rate is "okay" they don't care even when majority agrees Ghoul is miserable to play against.

Now Myers since he has way less pickrate and even less Kill rate Devs ain't gonna bother at least not for a year or 2 since they see the rework as a success.

  • @GeneralV said:

I'll never understand why Myers was reworked in the first place.

We are no strangers to terrible reworks. Even the word "rework" is a bad omen. But Myers was almost universally agreed to be one of the most thematically perfect killers in the game.

Well devils advocate his design was very outdated and bad I think the mistake was Slaughtering strike itself. Myers being able to enter in and out of stealth was actually a great change in my opinion. So it's not like the rework was all bad

Yeah I feel if he couldnt shred pallets he'd be a lot more bareable.

Even if they got rid of that he still has basekit fast kicks, add-ons to kick faster and perks to make kicks even faster. People will just move from one thing to the next

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

Basekit bond is too much. Swfs have an advantage with communication but dbd maps aren't great for callouts beyond major ones like main and shack etc. It doesn't really compare to full surv aura reads all the time.

Basekit empathy might be ok to let solo q players get heals a little easier. Perhaps highlight gens that are being worked/show progress on them.

This would be a good idea since I'm an altruistic healer mainly I'm trying to keep my team healed so this would help my solo queue self

I would be just fine with this. It would basically just be giving solo queue the same info that SWF gets without further boosting SWF. I’d support this much more than basekit Bond which would be a lot more busted and would give SWF a boost as well.

I really wanted this for a while, but now that your fellow survivors can tell if the killer is camping based on the anti-camp bar I feel like a slightly more imperfect means of coordination would be more appropriate.

Well this is mostly for when the killer isn't camping cause I've had either nobody goes for the save or everybody go for the save it's just a very messy coordination for solo queue atm and I think should be addressed

I get the rocket launcher part but he does use weapons and they only gave him a tentacle in game. The whole using weapons and NE-a parasite part is kind of what separated him from a normal tyrant so not giving him a single conditional one feels off.

I can understand not adding a rocket launcher to his kit for the sake of balance but what if more as a homage to it he has like a secondary mori where you can rocket launcher the survivor?

  • @Abbzy said:

I think he would need his rush with his scream, would be helpfull because zombies are bunch of unreliable donkeys that arent that even good unless you run top addons on them and even then they arent that great as power. Little mobility with breaking and maybe 1 infection damage wouldnt make him op I think.

I think if he had a Rush it would just be like press ability key to start a scream and he just rushes like Hillbilly and ends with a lil cooldown at the end of the rush but without the insta down lethality doesn't really seem op to add to his kit if it's just map traversal mobility.

The Infectious Fright sluggers are the worst. A lot of Blights do it too. Unbearable.

Hot take IF promotes slugging to much and should be reworked to only work on injures make it a spread the pressure type perk

I think we should be able to see what killer we may be facing in killer lobby before entering a match. There's alot of people with phobias, like vomiting, doctors causing seizures to some, clown, dredge nightfall, etc. I don't know if they will ever put a option to turn certain stuff off in the menu setting but if not, I really do think seeing the killer name (example, the spirit right beside the bottom of the screen near the ready up) we are facing before loading into the screen. I mean it's really no difference than when a person first goes against a killer their first three times, it tells you automatically who you will be facing anyways. And I am aware some people may lobby dodge if they see a certain killer they don't wanna face but I feel like that should be our choice anyways, especially if we bought the game, put money into the game. Killers can lobby dodge if they go in and see flashlights or toolboxes or a row full of certain characters (example, Nancy's or Nea's, Steve's.) There’s other people that can load into those spots that doesn't have a problem going against that killer. An as for element of surprise because its a horror game, dbd lost that element long time ago. Its not even scary anymore, not even going against stealth killers because killers are typically predictable, even against a scratch mirror myers. I haven't got scared since they brought lights out mode. Now that was scary.

No no no this has been discussed before and if you could see the Killer it would become Lobby window shopping simulator I'm not ashamed to admit if this existed I will be dodging every Nurse Blight and Ghoul I see.

That's why this cannot be a thing people already give up as soon as you hear the Terror radius of the Killer

  • @cogsturning said:

So why is it now that killers can browse survivor profiles and dodge if they don't like what they see? Seeing the survivor avatars in the lobby is one thing, but I don't understand why you can see each other's profile info.

How do you profile a Survivor? Their just skins basically I can understand not wanting to face a 4 squad of the same item but it's not exactly game breaking to see those as a killer if it was like you could see their perks then I'd think it was busted

  • @jesterkind said:

I honestly don't think Diminishing Returns will actually affect that many gimmick, niche, or off-meta builds, honestly.

Most of the ones I run won't be affected that I can think of off the top of my head, and if they are it'll probably just be swapping out one perk for something else. There's still plenty of opportunity to mix and match things around for fun variety— if anything you might be more encouraged to do that since you can't lean as hard into just stacking the same effect.

Idk usually some of my fun builds are usually All vault perks all aura all blindness etc but now builds will just be one aura one exhaustion one anti tunnel one gen rush perk that sorta thing while it is variety I just don't think it's as fun as stacking into one silly category

  • @Shroompy said:

All Im gonna say is some times you arent as sneaky as you think, and killers have different ways of finding you other than aura reading. Scratch marks are an obvious one, killer instinct and crows are another, and good game sense is something that no stealth perk can help you against.
