is this my chance to vote for ghoul and springtrap? thank you brother

is this twitter only? I refuse to use twitter

Its the usual in game survey

  • Like it or not 2v8 has attracted a casual audience for survivors and there's a ton of people who come here to play just for 2v8 cause 1v4 is a miserable experience for solo Q

I think most people get why the vibe is off here. Star Wars isn't just kiddie and not horror, it's next to Marvel as one of the world's most soulless, cash grabby franchises. Vecna works because DnD is still kinda of a niche, nerd thing. Most people probably didn't know who he was before he was added (or before Stranger Things). Star Wars comes with tons of corporate baggage and pre-determined feelings, much of which centers around cutsy stuff like jokey robots and baby aliens.

You haven't seen enough episodes or comics of Star wars there is horror in it

I personally prefer C. For the lack of a better word, B feels too…obvious to me. Too on the nose.

But I imagine B will win, if the comment sections I’ve seen are anything to go by.

Yep B is just so good the others just sound generic to me

  • So the reason Wesker was kill switched yeah it's still happening numerous people have reported getting Wesker dash grabbed from other sides of pallets and objects still and I'm also still getting warp grabbed from a million miles aways as well just Killswitch him again and take more time to fix him devs.

  • It doesn't its only for other people's mistakes on the same gen

I also really want to point out that in solo Q, some people have accessibility issues with skill checks as it is (limited motorskills and/or eyesight) and a team mate using this and it applies to said persons gen, it's going to be really hard to get value from this without stake out or the like.

I always wanted that one Jonah perk Corrective action that fixes missed skill checks to also work for the person who equipped it.

That way people with disabilities can use it

  • Devs Re kill switch him

  • No joke that would be a major disappointment for the community I'd rather it be Jason then the champion

  • Proof?

  • @tjt85 said:

I'd honestly like to see both, though I do think a Death Troopers Star Wars chapter would be a much better fit (one of the few Star Wars books that I really enjoyed). But obviously Jason should come to the game first. If it is Jason, it's a shame we lost two horror icons so recently with Myers and Pinhead saying goodbye before he could be added to complete the whole museum of horror ideal.

That said, hear me out, I think it's actually neither of these IPs. It's more likely to be a Predator chapter, just because I think the Predator and Alien licenses were probably negotiated at the same time. There's also an outside chance it's a Squid Game chapter (I'm basing this on the new Seoul city map and BHVR & Netflix being on good terms again).

I'm trying to imagine how predator would work or be unique in this game he would have his Wrist blades and the Cloak ability also his shoulder plasma cannon but that'd be pretty hard to balance also if you look at predator hunting grounds there's tons of weapons he could use

  • @Nazzzak said:

The prospect of Darth Vader coming to a horror game before Jason is kind of crazy to me..

The curse of licensing issues affects Jason strongly meanwhile Disney will do whatever with their ips as long as they can make money

  • Yeah Vader does have some horror moments in movies and comics he can be pretty scary

  • @cogsturning said:

OK I take it back. He is not fine.

    Genuinely wow

  • While I do miss old Aura Freddy I think he's in a ok spot I do like popping fake pallets on survivors

  • As someone with a hearing condition you're ear health is more important then the game turn the volume down. Yes Devs should add sound accessibility already but we also have to care about our health as well

What would you consider the best use of the perk be then? 3 gen was my guess on what the Devs made the perk for.

Currently nothing but giving the killer more time

  • Yeah apparently it's still happening happened to myself and I've seen streams and clips of it still occuring

It makes gens 50% slower for very little reward. No one ever asked for a survivor perk that makes gens slower. That's what killer perks do. The only way this could make sense is if the boon also causes a constant stream of skill checks, making it both mechanically challenging to get its value from and potentially worthwhile.

Agreed unless you add a secondary effect which increases skill check spawns by 50% it ain't gonna be good

  • @ThatRyanB said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/466953/the-draft-for-boon-steadfast-sucks

Hey there! You mention not liking this perk from a values and conceptual POV. Would you be able to elaborate on what specifically you're not liking about it?

    Conditions conditions conditions.

Steadfast is very bad because of the values and the big amount of conditions just to use this perk. First you have to spend time booning then you get a -50% repairing penalty which makes a gen take 180 seconds which is 2 gens worth of time but in 1 gen

Finally you only get 1% of permanent progress if you hit great skill checks and unless your running a full skillcheck spawning build (Tambourine and Deadline with a toolbox) you ain't getting enough value for it it's way more a detriment then a benefit to use.

If you want this perk to be okay at best remove the repair penalty and change the great skillcheck requirement to basic good Skillchecks

  • @Mr_K said:

Steadfast seems to be a 3 gen counter. The gen doesn't need to be near the gen but the gen closest to it, even across the map. Otherwise, it's not that useful in a normal match.

Not at all? Like if anything if you use this perk to battle a 3 gen it's more so helping the Killer cause you repair 50% slower you only get permanent progress if you hit great skill checks and if you ain't running a skill check build to spawn more skill checks it's not helping much and the killer would sooner run out of 8 kicks on the gen rather then finishing it.

  • @zonkednb said:

To my understanding we can't have any more killers with stations because we have Nemmy and Wesker taking up that spot with their combined vaccine/spray system. To bring in another killer with a map element they'd probably have to remove both the RE boys to replace them with a single killer. That won't go over well, even if I'm absolutely fed up of dealing with the zombies.

That rules out Pig, Springtrap, Plague, Xeno, Sadako, Freddy, Singularity, Henry, Vecna.

Additional items may also present a problem, as we already get those from Wesker/Nemmy and tellingly, if both killers are present this will default to the spray instead of a mix of both items.

    This rules out Krasue (maybe).

We also can't have any locker killers due to conflict with Huntress' reload.

So no Dredge and no Trickster.

Myers and Pinhead are out because expired licenses.

Pretty much anyone else is possible, at least from my layman's perspective. I imagine there are more challenges to getting them to function correctly and balance them properly than I picture, because I have no idea what kind of spaghetti the devs have to work with these days.

Reloading Killers can be slightly reworked to have a passive ammo regain allowing Dredge to come in. Krasue should be possible since shrooms just spawn in the open.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4077044#Comment_4077044

That is, if you're lucky enough to even get skillchecks for that 1%.

Yeah too get any actual value you are forced to run Tamborine and Deadline with a toolbox just to get more skillchecks just to make this perk Meh at best

  • @radiantHero23 said:

I dont think Pinhead is a safe inclusion. Bubba seems to be a lot safer in comparison.

I think he's safes he has a non static box spawn

  • Mmm it's like a it's permanent only if the boons is still up but killers cleanse boons so it's not really good idk unless they buff boon ranges I don't think this will work

  • @Aven_Fallen said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4077037#Comment_4077037

Yeah, this is basically the cherry on top that the benefit you get from this Perk is pure RNG.

The only usecase I can see is to put the Boon on Gens which should not be repaired, lol.

The do not do this gen Stopper

  • @Nazzzak said:

Prefer the killer perks to survivor. That boon one though is just sandbagging your team mates. You're slowing them down without their consent and they may not be confident in hitting greats (and don't want to try, especially if they're injured on death hook and don't want to draw the killer to them).

Yeah this is just a noncensual detriment like no joke this perk is 99% detriment and 1% benefit

  • @MoZo said:

steadfast is on its way to compete with road life and treacherous crows as a contender for the worst survivor perk in the game lol who came up with those numbers? they did say that none of it is final so i could see them toning it down to maybe 20% debuff or 30% but 50% is just dead on arrival if that goes to live.

Plus it only works if you hit great skill checks so unless you run a skillcheck triggers faster build it's not even worth it even if you remove the slowdown

  • @random1543 said:

Steadfast I do not like at all, Someone else on my team can force me to do the gens massively slower and there does not seem to be some way to be like "hey I don't want that" is bad. Maybe they could tone down how slow the gen goes but then I feel like people would complain about it like fast track.

I don't know why It has to have such a massive downside.

they should just rename Steadfast to Sandbag

Edit: If they want to go this way with perks, soloq communication is needed same update. I have no way in solo q to tell someone not to use this perk outside of checking there perks and following them and shaking my head at them.

Yeah this is just terrible design you have to waste time Booning then repair a gen 50% slower and can ONLY get permanent progress if you hit a great skill check

You could honestly remove the slowdown or change the great skill check to good skill checks and it still wouldn't be good.

Back to the drawing board Devs

  • @GeneralV said:

We should have Knight and Skull Merchant.

I don't think Skullmerchant will make it in however they could add Knight but he wouldn't be that good since he can only send one guard out on a survivor and then hes just a regular m1 killer but he could be in 2v8

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4076823#Comment_4076823

It only worked with those 2 because they already had the same chest design. And when both are in a match the spray cans just cure both infections.

If they add one of the other killers that uses these and they are played alongside each other or wesker/nemi they have to have 2 full sets of spawns for 2 different sets of static islands. Which would be an issue and clutter the map a lot.

But yeah definitely want to see more killers in 2v8. I'm surprised they didn't add more with this current 2v8 event.

They can always just make the maps bigger to make room for the killer related items

  • @ShanoaLegendaryPlz said:

Well when they answered how they choose killers for 2v8, they consider:

1: is it simple to add (m1 killers for example)

2: does it need license permission (xeno/myers/freddy/ghoul etc)

3: does it have a counter item (dredge locks / pyramid head's box / singularity emps etc)

4: does it visually effect the map ( the first / dredge / freddy etc.)

5: does it have a status effect that can mix with others (unknown / singularity / nemisis / plague etc)

6: does it keep mosr of the team injured easily, which seems to be the one they want to avoid completely (legion / plague ).

They seem to want to add the simpler killers first, if licenses allow, and then try to figure out a way killers with items or world effects can fit into the game together, nemisis and wesker being the first success because they have the same boxes and both involve curing status effects. But complications come from stuff like having singularity and xeno where theyd have to find a way for emps and turrets to exist without flooding the map, or being useless against the opposite killer etc.

Well then by that checklist killers like Hag and Clown should be able to get in Quickly

  • @Xray said:

They could have added a killer that would easy to change for the mode like Clown or Hag, but nope…. more skins.

They were supposed to add clown with Chucky but didn't for some reason and I completely forgot Hag isn't even in yet they should.

there are plenty of those hits btw, u can also gap hits from turning hit from left to right or right to left to cover bigger hitbox and avoid getting spinned when u normally shouldve missed. this vod is just a random youtube video i found to show an example, those type of hits should not be possible and it looks weird and unprofessional.

Yeah that just looks unfair the survivor was nowhere on that screen when the hit landed this definitely needs to be fixed

  • I don't think it's necessary atm cause the current Dev pattern their doing right now is when a killer is being updated like Trickster for example they are adding Anti-camp power restrictions so it's hard for killers to do

  • @Slurp_Ramen said:

I’d say buff his reload base kit so it’d encourage more add variety, like cigar, iri, or the terror radius add ons.

But I know in my heart everyone will still run double reload or cooldown on miss/reload.

Basically if you tried him in 2v8 he should just be like that in 1v4

Also hot take he should be given more harpoon range and reel speed

  • Should just be made permanent idk why it isn't

Plague will never happen for the same reason The Legion was removed. Actually, she'd be ten times worse than The Legion.

Agreed I think most killers belong in 2v8 but plague is the rare exception cause she has the same problem as legion she would need a total power rework or like a skull merchant treatment to be able to be in the mode

  • I just think bringing back downvotes made this place more toxic

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

Man I'd love to see demo in 2v8. I think freddy and spring trap would be a problem though. Not balance wise but i think bhvr are trying to avoid killers that add new static items to the trials, i.e. spring traps doors or freddy's clocks. They already had to amalgamate wesker and nemi's chests.

Well that's kinda a counter argument cause they were able to solve the static item problem they can totally do it sure it'll take some time but it's possible and until then they still add killers who don't have that problem.

Demo, Unknown, Artist, Dredge, Houndmaster, pinhead. I want more killers in this mode and I will not stop advocating for it.

  • @Raptorrotas said:

Mhm. Years ago i played Identity V's duo hunt. Back then I think the only disabled killer was the photographer who was already using the 2v8 UI to track copies of the survivors in his own photgraph-paralell dimension. ( He could attack copies while phased to damage survs, i hope it makes sense)

He was disabled cuz he'd break the UI with twice the survs and needed a NEW UI just for him.

Dbd's killer seem rather tame with only adding interactible objectivs at designated points.

Pinhead for example', same with dredge and vecna², is that they affect all survivors at once. But you could easily tweak the durations, charge rates or spawn amount, depending on map size.

I'm not familiar with identity V but It kinda makes sense and yeah most killers can join they just need tweaks to fit 2v8

  • @cogsturning said:

The value of the tonics for killer is more to keep them out of survivors' hands. Taking a green one off the board is big.

Agreed as a Killer if you see a green tonic you have to grab it. Not only to give your team a speed boost but also to prevent a survivor from gaining another health state.

They could add a decent number of Killers but they won't. I believed everyone that could be in 2V8 would be in 2V8 some day. But that was before it became clear the player base takes 2V8 seriously enough to complain to the point that a Killer had to be removed. So unless BHVR want to risk another Legion situation and add a Killer that would only need to be removed shortly afterwards, then no, not all Killers can be added.

They probably don't want to waste resources on adding Killers that will hardly ever be played either. I wish things were otherwise but a precedent has been set so they have to be extra careful now.

    Disagree

  • She's fine Oni is the real problem

  • I thought it was a permanent thing

  • @tjt85 said:

As much as I'd like to see new 2V8 content, BHVR probably realise there's not much more they can add at this point beyond cosmetic themed events like this Attack on Titan one. Yeah, they could add some new classes for Survivor and Killer. Maybe add a new item or two, like the fog crystals or tonics. I'd like to see both in future versions. But aside from that, there's only a handful of Killers left to be added that are uncontroversial and easy enough to implement.

I like it for what it is, but since development has kinda reached a natural end, I'd prefer for BHVR to now work on new modes instead. More modes in rotation would stop the groundhog day problem of cycling between 2V8 and Chaos Shuffle with nothing much else besides the big seasonal events.

Disagree they can add most Killers to 2v8 there's only some exceptions like plague for example
