I've reached the opinion that if Dissolution gives enough value on a killer for that killer to constantly run it, then that killer needs a nerf, because their only counterplay is vaulting pallets.

Which is quite funny because Krasue, Ghoul, Skull Merchant and Knight have all had periods of time where they ran Dissolution because of the only realistic counter play being vaulting pallets.

Yep another thing I've noticed with Ghoul is Ghouls can hold their power between leaps for 5-6 second before it cancels itself and his Move speed whole holding his power is pretty fast enough he can move around objects and walls and continue to leap.

Meanwhile a Wesker can only hold their power between bounds for 3 seconds and doesn't have enough fast move speed to worm around objects to continue the dash.

These also need to be adjusted with Ghoul

I'm not even sure what he is so upset about. Even momo himself thinks that Blight is OP in his current state and has said that he fully supports the changes. There is a clip of him saying it from just a day ago. Interesting how the high level blights have no issue with the changes but random guy on the forums thinks they are too far.

Because it's not gonna affect Top tier blights it's just gonna effect bad blights and the ones complaining about these changes are outing themselves

They didn't say it would just be nerfs tho did they? What I took from what they said part 2 will depend on where he lies after part 1 nerfs.

If Devs even think about buffing Blight in someone way there will be strongly worded feedback he does not need any sort of compensation buffs

i honestly don’t get why they’re doing part 1 and part 2 while nerfing him. these part 1 changes will barely change anything about the already good blight players. they should’ve done both parts together so all blight players are nerfed instead of only the less experienced ones.

They probably wanna inch by inch it cause they don't wanna face backlash from his mains so they can't cry BLIGHT IS GETTING SKULLMERCHANT TREATMENT HES DEAD

The solution is simple: buff the weaker killers, leave the stronger ones as they are, and have survivors step up a bit instead of expecting to loop Blight the same way they do against Amanda.

YES, some killers are stronger than others, and YES, against the strongest killers in the roster, survivors will need more speed, efficiency, skill, and game sense than they would against Amanda or Trapper.

But NO, balance shouldn’t be brought downwards. Survivors need to step up too. At some point, they’ll have to understand that against certain killers, they’ll need to be more efficient and won’t have time to admire the scenery or do side objectives like opening chests or breaking totems (even if that’s the kind of gameplay some players would prefer: a game where every killer can be faced brain-off while just holding W).

Leave the op killers as op is a bad take something busted shouldn't just be remained as is and expect majority of people suffering from it to try to beat it.

Yeah I'm just not understanding the logic here. The most problematic and focused builds will be untouched, and more obscure niche builds will be hurt. This is just dictating playstyles and narrowing the meta further, and that's the last thing we need. Why release 10 zillion perks if you want to restrict their usage 10 years in?

Agreed so likes what's the point?

  • @TicTac said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4069232#Comment_4069232

But thats not the case. The meta perks like Pain Res, Pop, TBTC, Ruin or Corrupt dont stack. The only builds which get hit are builds with only slowdown (Penti, Thana, Dying Light or Sloppy, Leverage), but they are not really meta.

Edit: CoB and Overcharge will also get hit, but who plays that as best in slot?

Worse perks will get worse and meta perks won't be affected we're just making meta builds going to be a lot more common now

The VAULT created the biggest problem? Not the ability to cancel the power mid-air and start recovering your M1 while you launched yourself towards another survivor, giving them a window of only 0.2 seconds to react instead of the 2 seconds they intended survivors to react?

If Ghoul loses the ability to cancel his power mid-air and start recovering, I'd be 100x happier than if they make Ghoul 4.4

Or Ghoul being able to Grab attack you through objects and walls and while your second floor and he's on first floor because the poorly implemented Hitscan and the dsync of the match creates a miserable experience against him.

Or like perks like Bloodfavor and Dissolution ran by ghouls is the most agonizing thing to face.

I know people like to say this but no one ever asks for it. He just needs adjustments to not be powerful and easy. But the longer he's detestable, the worse the sentiment will get, and it's been a year. People are only just getting over Clown being overtuned for a few weeks and that was awhile ago.

And SM isn't the same. Her power is just bad and unenjoyable. Ghoul could be fine with tuning.

Can agree to that I want this killer to just be more balanced but the longer this goes on I'm getting sick of him and saying f**k it just skull Merchant him. People have a boiling point and it's getting there for most

Hello people, of DBD community my name is SNIP
I’ve been playing Dead by Daylight since 2016, and honestly, I think these changes to Blight are terrible. He already had a strong identity and skill ceiling, and these updates feel like they make him less fun and less rewarding to play. Additionally Making Blight 4.4 would hurt his ability to keep up against (Good)-Survivor Teams. Killer balance should be based on how they perform against competitive survivors, not by weakening them in ways that make them less effective overall. This will also lower player skill expression of the character potentially lowering it pick rate and need learn more about instead of blight feeling fun use he will irritating to play and clucky. also to mention take a decent amount time to master blight and get to a good level unlike Ghoul I. we should be focus on closing gap between Lower killers and A tier killers by buffing the D tiers. I feel that this just another case of nerfing character base on video yt or Momo seven for example look at the Freddy Kruger. Freddy was nerfed before, and then the devs had to buff him back because he was too weak against good survivors and same thing happened with Billy where they introduce a overheat mechanic, it was Hevey nerf to power This undisputed made him became much weaker against good survivors. That why later he got the overcharge mechanic. When killers fall behind at higher levels, buff up so they can stay competitive. Lastly, I love this game, which is exactly why I’m speaking up. I just hope the devas listen to the community with a grain of salt. but seriously Don't do this nerf

No majority of the community and even Blight mains agree that Blight is busted and Overtuned in the long run when these changes go through will only affect bad blights who rely on 4.6 and zoning after breaking pallets.

We are still going to buff lower tier killers but the Top of the killers needs balancing as well

So after injuring someone should take 4 seconds? Did you even read it or understand it, adding one second to all is huge nerf in total.

Sometimes many minor nerfs to wide parts of the killer power can create huge nerf in total.

Why not springtrap takes 4 seconds just to be able to attack after throwing an axe and he's a weaker killer increasing ghouls cooldowns is not a huge a deal compared to him

the devs also said this was in the works for a “long time” too. how long does it take for 2 balance adjustments to make it past discussion and into the actual game lmao. they definitely haven’t had this planned for “a long time”, this was just a reaction nerf since blight has been a hot topic of balance recently.

Takes 6 years to make him 4.4 ok devs

  • @Abbzy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4069323#Comment_4069323

Ghouls vault created the most biggest problems since his release and now I would say here are none because his counterplay when you learn it has no counter from ghouls side.

    Cool-downs:

    • Charge-cancellation cool-down: 1 second
    • Leap Vault cool-down: 1.25 seconds
      • Used after vaulting with Kagune Leap.
    • Leap cool-down: 2 seconds
      • Used for both cancelling Kagune Leap and running out of Leap Tokens.
    • First Leap cool-down: 2.5 seconds
      • Used after latching onto survivors on the First Leap or if they are already holding a Kagune Mark. This cool-down requires The Ghoul to be within Grab-Attack range to activate.
    • Grab cool-down: 3 seconds
      • Used after performing a Grab-Attack.

From this he has 2 seconds window in which he cant attack after canceling power and all he can do is get close with slide from leap or leap without slide. For comparision blight has 2,5 second cooldown if he misses rush and 3 seconds if he hits his rush but the KEY difference is that blight can damage you with his rush, ghoul cannot damage you with his leap only first time but cant down you (damaging you is meant into downed state here for making this more clear), this isnt that problematic part because in order for ghoul to get that hit fast he needs to use his slide to be very close to you and there are ways how to prevent it same with wraith who without uncloak addons is few meters behind you if he starts uncloaking on your level when you keep running staright (objects make killers trajectory longer and make speed less effective than it is in open area).

For charges 4 seconds per charge when he is not enraged which is 8 seconds for two leaps one with slide effect and when he is enraged its 2,5 so 7,5 seconds for 3 leaps and two have slide. Compare to now blights 10 second whole power, many people forget there isnt many ways for ghoul to get downs he has mobility and first hit into deep wound but than he has not many tools to get down only use of his leaps which isnt easy to use on loops and his vault that can be countered totaly now.

Add 1 second to all of those cool downs and he'll be more balanced

  • @MDRSan said:

I'm not necessarily worried yet. As soon as it sinks in to killer players that this change means survivor perks are going to get buffed numbers since they don't need to be artificially lowered to account for stacking anymore the forum outcry has a good chance to make this go the way of anti-tunnel/anti-slug mechanics. I mean, can you imagine if some survivor perks were actually as strong as their convoluted setup suggests.

That said, it doesn't personally affect me - I run a more generalized, multi-purpose build anyway (Stake Out, Lithe, Botany, Kindred).

How will the outrage farmers who set up custom matches with complicated and unrealistic pre-setup conditions to get crazy speeds on a single gen farm their community's rage now? They have families to feed!

Yeah like I said I think this will effect killers more then survivors cause most of the time Survivors run multipurpose builds while it's usually killers who run specialized build that's why I think it will majorly hurt them more in the long run then survs

Fair enough I do agree with the adjustments being good, but have you played against dissolution using Ghoul? it kind of removes said counterplay. This is also really strong on Krasue also, there is still some interactions with this killer that can be really oppressive and these pain points are definately worth exploring.

I'm against nerfing a perk because of a killer, Ghoul's free hit basically makes this really easy to get value out of, pair that with the vault tech being one of the main counterplays, we have an issue

    Or a Bloodfavor Ghoul

  • @Abbzy said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/465906/why-no-ghoul-nerfs

I get you dislike ghoul but he got nerfed lately in trickster patch where his leap vault doesnt have hit ability as weskers and now survivors can vault right through him back and theres nothing he can do to stop it so ghoul now is lowest he ever been.

He is in good spot and compare to blight his power now is harder to use in chase than before due to that change, another huge thing is ghoul cant down you directly with his power so making him 4,4 would be torture because he isnt that great in getting down as spirit if survivors know what they are doing plus he is one of the most loopable high tier killers now.

Compare to blight ghouls power only covers 2/3 of blights power which is mobility and first injury but than ghoul cant down you directly.

Ghouls Vault wasn't the only problem his core design is the issue his auto aim grab attack that alot of times can go through objects and when people are on second floors while ghoul is on the first floor.

His very short cooldowns and attack cooldown when landing I can go on and on about this but at the end of it all Ghoul is miserable to vs and needs to be looked at

  • @THE_Crazy_Hyena said:

    Simple Ghoul fix:

    • Canceling power after a leap slows the Ghoul down significantly for 3 seconds, with a ramping movespeed over this duration, and locks him out from using M1 until the power token has replenished.

There you go, that simple fix should make Ghoul less frustrating to play against.

Hold up this is a good idea

  • @Rokku_Rorru said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/4068946#Comment_4068946

What I'd really love is for them to realise that mobility is really really strong especially if its mobility that can be used to harm a player.

Ghouls ability to just return to hook and remove endurance is one of those things, much like Blight is able to just do the same, or Nurse.

While the changes put forward today help with this a little, Maybe Ghouls power shouldn't be able to work on Endurance? Kind of Like Snug on Houndmaster grabbing

For Anti camp and anti tunnel purposes Ghoul does need some anti camp measures probably something like can't target with power the unhooked

  • @oxygen said:

There's no killer bots, and there are challenges and other stuff that relate to doing stuff at endgame. A survivor abandoning can in no way stop a killer from getting any challenges/achievements as the bot remains, this would not be the case for a killer abandon that ends the game.

Absolutely nothing against the idea of such an abandon option but I find it very unlikely it'll be implemented without killer bots as a result. Don't think they want another case of "You nasically need your opponent's permission to do your thing" situation like with the Myers tombstone achievement.

Then add the hecking Killer bots people acting like that's a grave sin when survivors already have them

  • Did the Devs confirm he will receive an addon pass as well?

  • @cogsturning said:

    @BongoBoys

Prety sure epair speed means survivors. Like resi and deja vu will conflict.

Wouldn't perks like Thanathaphobia be effected as well? either or the repair speed will still effect the killer said more then the survivor side since they're on the Fast Track hype currently which is Gen max progress removal? Idk how you classify that.

  • @Rogue11 said:

Agreed, it will end up with only the strongest / meta perk in each category being used. Or everyone will abandon the niche healing, haste, antiheal builds making matches as stale as ever.

Yeah Meta perks will stay Meta and going off the script will be punished more so for Killers then survivors.

Looking at these 5 things the only thing that will hurt Survivor is healing speed 1 outta 5 meanwhile Killer is getting affected by all 5 outta 5

  • @[Deleted User] said:

From what I've seen here, elsewhere, and what's been expressed by a friend, I don't think most people are ever going to be happy with Ghoul unless the leap attack is removed/reworked to feel less like a free hit.

Its definitely a core design people have a problem with maybe if they make it so you have to be Kagune Marked before you can take damage by Ghouls grab attack. That would make him more tolerable to go against.

  • @Mandy said:

not denying that the players feel there's issues with a character at all - Dissolution aside, which could very well be a perk issue and not a killer specific issue, hard to tell without looking at that closer, there's definitely some things which I think could be looked at more with Ghoul, but it's not something we're moving on right now. (I'm not saying never here, just explaining why it's not being done now).

Well I'll at least give you guys credit you finally after 6 years realized Blight was a problem and gave him a perfect balance patch.

I hope you guys realize and move on the same with Ghoul Soon

  • @Adrielh said:

I would really like to see the majority of killers playable in 2v8 mode.
I would honestly be disappointed if that’s not the case. It’s definitely possible to balance them and find solutions, even for the most complex killers.

For example, the interaction between the Dredge and Freddy is actually far easier to handle than players or developers might think.

    Scenario 1:
Freddy and the Dredge are not in the same match → no issues at all with their powers.

    Scenario 2:
Freddy and the Dredge are in the same match →
When Nightfall is triggered, the Dream World is temporarily disabled.
All sleeping survivors are immediately awakened during this period.
Once Nightfall ends, affected survivors return to the Dream World.
    This completely solves the issue.

This also avoids any sound-related conflicts between the Dredge’s power and Freddy’s audio cues.

    Another specific killer: Vecna (Henry)

Vecna should not cause any issues with either the Dredge or Freddy. The only overlap would be the clock sound. Freddy’s visual filter would naturally take priority over Vecna’s.

Awake survivors would see Vecna’s filter, while sleeping survivors remain in the Dream World.
Vecna’s clock UI would still be visible at the top of the screen for all survivors.
They would hear Freddy’s lullaby (“La La La La…”) along with Vecna’s ticking clock.

    No issues here either.

I mean yeah killers should have a chance to be in 2v8 and a lot of the world altering killers can be fixed when in the same match

  • Look while I agree SB is too strong and that they should add more gens to the total we gotta realize that it has to be a Survivor sided mode to fill the 8 slots needed to be able to play

That is true he wasn't in the top 5 and yet based on feedback which they listened to perfectly are making him 4.4 and have to regen tokens on pallet break.

Meanwhile Ghoul who has the highest pick rate in the game with 8.1% and based on feedback everybody hates going against him hes miserable and yet Devs ignore the feedback completely and say he's fine. Like Huh? Make it make sense.

Ghoul is not in a position right now where he's overperforming - we've also made adjustments and bug fixes to a few things, we don't feel he's in the position where a hard nerf is warranted at this time, the revault is now even easier to do, so it should make more counterplay against the Ghoul.

Honestly Mandy no it's not these adjustments and Bug fixes are not enough to make people feel he's more counterable and it should not matter if he's not overperforming he's extremely miserable to play against due to his core design and his Skill floor makes him to easy a Killer to win his power grants him extremely mobility and a free damage state he should be made 4.4 just like Blight is going to be.

Listen to the communitys feedback and take it back to the Devs please we are tired and sick of the Ghoul.

I think it comes when he was weak because emps totaly destroyed his power (they were more powerfull against him than prechanged xenos turrets in comparision) and no one played him almost and this sentance "wasnt programed to harm the crew" was to him.

Some killers or characters have nicknames like houndmaster due to her buggy state is bugmaster or uknown who is super easy to get punished when he uses his power is called harmless due to it, these are ones that come to my mind.

Yeah I'm aware killers get like nicknames and stuff just lary is a new one for me to know and I thought they meant Larry's treatment

1 … 5 6 7 8 9 … 23
