I have no idea what tweaks they made that would cause the pallet logic to be so utterly out of whack, but I have never seen such varied tile strength in all my life. In the past two days alone, I have played games with both the least and the most pallets I've ever seen spawned on Ironworks of Misery in all my four years playing this game. Like, you'll have one match where the number of pallets can be counted on one hand, and then another match on that same map where it's, like, Hawkins but with safe loops. It's insane.

Anyone else having this issue? People are complaining about the frequency of deadzones a lot but I seem to be experiencing both extremes of bad pallet spawns.

Poor baby you can't be sure of yourself and actually have to worry a little bit

I always felt like with the generators being repaired they should have different repair times/duration and should be randomised throughout each trail. In my mind repairing the generators I doubt every single generator would have the same issues and would take the same amount of time to repair, maybe some would take longer to fix than others in order to prevent the games ending quicker than they currently do and will increase the duration of the trails (personally I’ve noticed trails going by a lot quicker than usual for me), to prevent generator repairs being too OP with this concept they will not be any shorter than what they take on average to repair now, but only a few will remain that way per trial.

For example: A base generator individually takes 80 seconds to repair, imagine if some generators base was 110 seconds and another 100 seconds or even just 90 seconds.

In order to bring as much balance as possible, perks that reduce generator progression could be nerfed and damaging generators will take less damage.

The whole aim of the concept is to have applied pressure during games, I main killer but I also play a lot of survivor and really get a thrill out of feeling the pressure and it just feels a lot more rewarding and challenging that way for me, I really do punish myself with my bizarre ideas.

I know this idea is massively flawed and never would workout but just putting the fun concept out there and having a discussion and seeing other people’s ideas they felt like was interesting but never would work would be good fun!

I can honestly tell you that that's the one positive things that Friday the 13th had going for it was that you never knew how a game was going to go as far as speed because you never knew where the items like the fuse for the telephone was. It did kind of add an element of excitement to me. But it also adds chaos which means a lot of your winning or losing was based on luck

Unfortunately, that would create less diversity. Almost everyone would play 1 of these two camps, depending on the meta, and we would have all the same characters. Just like people play strong killers, just like people play meta perks, people will now play meta survivors.

Hell's, they already do. Blendette, anyone?

Shades of Friday the 13th anyone?

  • @Saitamfed said:

Hello everybody How are you? As many of you know, I play mostly as a survivor, generally because on PC the queue for killers are pretty long. I can play a match doing gens, bones and searching totems but it feels... empty. The most interesting feautre for me it's to get chased and that gets boring with the time since it's pretty much almost the same, and no matter the survivor you pick, you will always get the same "potential", meaning depend on wich perk you're using your playstile can change but every survivor can get all the same. Killers are different, with each one you have a different power, different playstiles that you can seek.

Now I get that if every survivor is different this game would be a pay to win but what if we have two classes of survivors. Like the technical ones and the fast ones (we have 7 survivors as base so even if you have the base game, you will be able to play with both). This is just an idea and obviously it's unfinished but please see the big picture wich is having a more variated playstyle, not exactly "this buff or debuff". And of course, I am open to suggestions.

The fast ones, will receive a small buff in perks like sprint, let's say instead of 150%, they go to 155% BUT, his exhaustion is bigger and when they're exhausted his breath sounds a bit louder (not as much as stridor, but a 5% or something like that)

The technical ones, will receive a smaller penalty in status effect like Hemorrage and it will end sooner if it's a timed status effect, but their vaulting speed will be reduced a bit as well and the perks that grants a buff, will be smaller, like 145% instead of 150%

Now as I said, this is an unfinished idea, and there are a lot that it needs to be polished. I will keep thinking on it of course.

    What do you think?

I agree with everything you said but when you start a post with as many of you already know when talking about yourself I kind of chuckle at your ego

That's only one part of the nerf. They also nerfed it because of how frequently it was used by killers in general. Ruin is still a good perk. There's a reason it was used so heavily. People don't know how to correctly pressure the map.

Even if you do know how to pressure the map good luck doing that with some of The Killers

  • It definitely changed because I was playing him to day and thought that I ran past and injured survivor and then realized it was my own self. And I've played clown a lot that would have happened to me if there wasn't changed

  • I have literally played solo survivor 95% of my 1000 hours so far and I do fine. The fact that you guys think it's a death sentence says something

  • @deadbyhitbox said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1243575#Comment_1243575

Or we could not blame gen speeds for the fact that the majority of killers aren't where they belong.

They literally nerved hex ruin because of new were survivors. That's the majority of their base they aren't gonna make a decision and think about only 10%. Just stop dude you're being asinine

  • It's now giving me the lore when I do the challenges but all of the challenges I did before are still locked and no way to unlock them

There is no other possibility, everyone has had forced AA since like 3.2.1,maybe even earlier. You just didn't notice it till now prob.

So all of these people are just now noticing after this patch for no real reason?

  • @KJay said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1243640#Comment_1243640

It's nothing to do with your computer or monitor imo unless you're running stretched resolution. But with their AA option being enabled, it looks like dogshit no matter what quality you're on.

If something is not an improvement, and they can look at it and go "wow that looks worse", why make the decision to do it just because of some red stain problem with a few people?

Someone actually green lighted this change after they all sat around looking at it and maybe not realizing that it looks bed?

  • I'm still very confused. I'm running on ultra. Are you guys saying that when you run low settings it's blurry? Why would things be blurry on ultra when the setting is supposed to be helping with jagged edges? Doesnt anti aliasing help get a better picture?

If I'm running this on ultra and still getting jagged edges now since the last update, is this something to do with my computer or monitor?

  • @NittanyBruin1719 said:

An update for everyone: one of the devs mentioned in Otz's stream today that there were some unintentionally changes to the Wraith and acknowledged that they are working to be fixed. Essentially, because of unintentional camera changes he feels more sluggish, even though he hasn't actually changed. The ring of the bell does appear more spaced out however, creating what's probably a bit of a placebo effect where the overall uncloaking feels worse (when the overall speed has no change).

The dev also mentioned fixes to Hillbilly are also being worked on as well.

Even the progress bars are now out of sync with what's actually happening on screen so I don't believe them at all

no it's always on mate. Unless you edit pak files which is bannable,it's always on.

So why was I not having jagged edges to survivors auras and things like that before this patch and now suddenly it's there?

  • Yeah so why don't we just tell 90% of The Killers they don't belong playing this game

  • Guys the aa is off. That's why its jagged edges around auras. They either turned it off or are using a different one

  • And we all knew it was gonna happen. Survs are laughing cause they know they are getting away with murder

  • @IronKnight55 said:

Yeah, that's a good idea! Let's nerf survivors even more because bad killers are stilll having a hard time... Lol

You obviously are not a high ranked surv. Real red rank survs are laughing at 90% of all killers

  • @ill_Boston_lli said:

Ive noticed we are not getting asny lore while completing these challenges on xbox. anyone else?

    Same on pc. No lore.

  • @luka2211 said:

I think people mostly dislike the Forced AA part. As for map changes, there isn't that many complaints from what i've seen atleast.

I always played this game on ultra settings and now it looks like I have jagged lines on the survivors aura. So tell me how is anti aliasing on now? It looks to me like it's been turned off and that's why lines and outlines are jagged right?

HamletEagle basically answered it, but it's to prevent malicious modification of the ini files to gain an advantage. Unfortunately that means that other harmless tweaks, like disabling anti aliasing, are also disabled. It's not just to spite the people who prefer playing without anti aliasing.

The patch made the game blurry and the edges look worse and not smooth. Any layman can see this. It needs to go back to the way it was obviously quit playing around

I wish I didn't buy the Oni now (and just bought Yui). The changes didn't need to be made to a Killer that only has an insta-down for around a min without add-ons. He's only been out for not even two weeks, and he's now dreadful to use.

I'm going back to Hillbilly. 😪

Only PC players were getting that advantage. It's not fair

    Was it really adjusted?

Turn your sensitivity up and make sure you're flicking after you hold down the right trigger for a second and you will get 90゚.

I literally have been testing it all day

  • @not_Queen said:

    Hey guys,

There is currently a lot of questions and feedback about the Oni control changes that were released today on Hotfix 3.4.2.

We've had a discussion with our design team because some questions were left unanswered. Here is some clarification on the intended mechanics and our next steps:

    • The controls, both on console and PC, are now working as intended.
    • Using keys and mouse at the same time no longer stacks while turning after using the Dash.
    • The angle the player can turn after dashing is capped to 90 degrees and is planned to stay that way.

While we think these changes are introduced to improve the game, we did hear a lot of feedback on the turn speed and controls changes. We feel there is something to improve there.

Our design team is planning on changing the turn rate ratio to improve on the feeling of the Dash, allowing you to freely move your camera within the limit. This will be included in a later update.

Some players are asking if these changes will impact on The Hillbilly's controls. They will not.

Hope this clarifies what we did for this change.

Thank you! Controller and keyboard should be even here. I was depressed cause oni just wasn't near the same killer as mouse and keys when I play on console or use controller on pc. I suffer a shoulder injury and cant use keyboard very long so I must use controller. Now finally the oni is useable and I dont feel like it was wasted money.

    Good job devs!

I think that the dead by daylight teams decision to start an official forum was a mistake.

There is so very few positive posts on here and I feel like it will spook the devs into changing the game in a way that only caters to the small % of whiners that post about how the game is "broken"

Dont get me wrong the game is not perfect but you start hearing "this killer is OP" this perk is weak, this feature is broken. Then you start making the game for the worst part of the community.

Look at data, take critique from content creators that use the game as a means of livelihood. And trust your gut devs.

Dont cater to the trolls, The salty babies that want the game easy and toxic. The ones that will never be happy and feel entitled to get there way everytime.

Go ahead and name a game that doesn't have an official forum

  • @Vao said:

I'm not a pro, but I play at the lower red ranks for killer, and almost every game today has been me getting constantly 360'd while using my power, and losing all four survivors unless I camp. I have went from rank 4 to one pip away from losing rank 6 today. It's been very painful. They either need to give us the option to boost our sensitivity or give him his flick back so we can actually hit survivors.

No they dont need to give flick back because why should pc players be able to flick but console cant? Make him equal all around. I use controller on PC cause of a shoulder injury and its bs that only mouse n keys can flick.

I agree that the new map is way too dark in general as a killer - it's even worse playing as a nurse and having to deal with fatigue on top of how people can vanish when they're 5 meters away from you. Any killer that doesn't have a stealth ability will have to find survivors, who will most likely hide when they hear the terror radius.

Yes guys I'm aware the new map is definitely dark and I don't have a problem with that map being like that period I'm talking about the pigs map and the other map having the same thing. Is this a glitch we need to report?

  • @Viracocha72 said:

It's a horror game, just let some maps be dark. Are you really complaining about the game now? It's dead by daylight, not dead during daylight. And besides, all the maps including the new one look just fine on my TV.

No way do leave Old maps alone. They are fine the way they were. Not many people are going to like this other than you survivors. But good try troll.

If you want to play on LIVE servers, just disable CrossPlay in your settings and you'll find game almost instantly.

Or just play PTB if you want.

    Cheers

    No no and no.

Now after disabling them I get cannot connect to server error and I was not getting that b4. I've restarted, rebooted and turned cross play back on....then restarted and rebooted again and now it's a permanent error screen when hitting ready on killer or surv.

    Thanks for making it worse.

I am in EU, and get 60-100ms ping usually. I have been playing mainly Nurse the last couple of days (because I enjoy her alot), and I get the exact opposite of what alot of people say about her. Sure, you tend to get sucked back a bit after coming ouf the blink, but her hits are so much much more consistent. I can't explain why, but it seems that I no longer get ghosthits (missing survivors at point blank range). That has plagued my Nurse-gameplay for so long in P2P, and dedicated servers finally resolved that. That alone makes me so happy.

That's got to be in your head. No way that you are going to increase latency by adding another ping yet it's going to take away things like ghost hits that just doesn't make any sense

  • @Slaughterhouse3 said:

So far so good. Nurse needs a bit of fixing though.

Everyone keeps harping on the hit boxes but that's not the biggest issue. The biggest issue is things like Myers tearing up and things like you saying with the nurse. You can't have D sync when you're trying to have pin point accuracy with things like Myers meter

They can deal with DCs now without servers. They had a system in place for over a year now to punish players that DC too often but have gone lacks on enforcement.

Nodded good enough trade off just for that benefit

i mean they cant now. they've already spent the money setting them up. and Switch CANT operate on the peer to peer connection, so they're stuck working on these servers. we can only hope they figure out how to make them actually function.

Then how is the switch working right now and since launch?

  • @Peanits said:

Definitely not pointless. The lobby flow has completely changed with this update and the button would need to be reworked in order to accommodate it. Otherwise you would be able to switch to killer with friends in your lobby, for example.

It may come back down the line. I'll bring the feedback to the team and let them know that people miss it already.

Plenty of other buttons Gray out when we can't use them like the character info while waiting for a Room.

  • The hag kinda reminds me of the way a xeno looks and stuff. It would work!
