Are you all ever patient? The moment the midchapter gets announced EVERYONE loses their ######### like changes this big have never happened.

I'm over here just looking at the forums and being like "....first time?"

Since I've been back on the forums, 80% of all threads have been complaints about DH and Gen Kick Meta. Now that the devs have addressed those exact points, people are still going crazy. Why? Because only one side should be buffed or nerfed. Entitlement at its finest. But, you know what? DBD has died so many "deaths", any cat would be jealous... 😅

ok we shall see if people will still pick dead hard. Then I’ll come back and message this comment just to see.

survivor mains said the old dead hard was dead after the change. It didn’t die. It changed again, I highly doubt it will die

There will always be people using it for sure. I mean there are also people who play with self-care. That doesn't prove that this perk is still good.

Dead Hard's first rework was actually a buff (only harder to use) It just took people a while to realize it. Now it is ineffective with its precondition.

The same thing happened back then with Old Ruin. Killer mains screamed the end was near. Afterwards they realized that the new Ruin was actually better. What happened? They nerfed it from 200% to 100% regression. There are still people playing with it, but it's not really good anymore.

I don't know what point you are trying to make here. You do realize if you don't have issues with your hearing (or you play with no sound) this means nothing.

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3381193#Comment_3381193

I'm not going to spilt hairs about who go it in the neck more. That wasn't the point of my reply. Nor am I claiming that CoH & DH didn't need a change. But for the OP to claim killer perks were nuked and survivor perks just got a rework is disingenuous.

On a side note. PR is a perk I always use in my kit (and the only slow down perk I use) so, yeah not too happy about that change but I'm still not going to claim survivors didn't take a hit either.

Exactly, this thread isn't about which side got the harder nerfs. To claim that only one side (survivors or killer) was nerfed shows inexperience, lack of understanding or entitlement.

I feel you about Scourge Hook PR. It was the only slowdown perk I used for a long time because I'm not a gen kick enjoyer. I'm also not sure if this change was really necessary. Still, I don't want to complain and will replace it with another perk. Same for me with DH. I've used it for 6 years but I also understand why it annoyed people.

The new meta will be anti-healing and survivors will hate it more than 3 genning.

Now that many gen regression perks are dead (i'd argue pain res is still fine when paired with my current combo of Thrilling/DMS/pain res/fearmonger, because if you use it 4 times you probably already got a lot of value) But overcharge being deleted, and CoB being deleted, killers have little to no decent gen regression left.

The only ones really remaining are probably the gen BLOCKING ones

However, With the increase to healing speeds happening across the board, this is going to result in the meta becoming anti-healing and stealth. Because healing will slow the game down far more than any gen regression perk can by sheer numbers. Thus, i suspect the "new" meta perks will involve some anti-healing along with more passive gen defense and potentially stealth, all of these dependent on killer

Personally though, i think from a killer perspective, this will actually result in killers being able to make more skillful plays. Instead of just hard tunneling someone out and using a bunch of gen defense perks and relying on a 3-gen, you'll be able to actually spread pressure and target multiple survivors. It'll make the game more fun for killers Unfortunately for the survivors, they are gonna get pissed and ragequit when they see that red bar after being hit and realizing they might as well not even bother healing.

With this change as well, i suspect survivor perks like resilience, resurgence, second wind, autodidact, inner healing and other perks become more meta on the survivor side of things.

Here is my predictions on perks and killers:

    • Sloppy butcher - for the m1 killers
    • Hex: Pentimento/Hex: Plaything - for the stealth and "passive" gen defense
    • Deadlock - passive gen defense
    • Corrupt Intervention - If you are a setup killer or have a bad early game
    • Thanataphobia - To force the survivors to heal while their healing is extremely long
    • Coulorophobia/Distressing - For killers with big terror radius manipulation like wesker/doctor
    • Deathbound - For stealth after they heal
    • Leverage - Unironically for combining with sloppy to make people's day sadder
    • Monitor and Abuse - To shrink your terror radius and make you stealthier
    • Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain - For the killers who aren't m1, like nurse, this would replace sloppy.
    • Dark Devotion - Encourages Spreading pressure, more anti-healing and stealth.
    • Game Afoot - For swapping obsession, could work well with dark devotion.
    • Hex: Face the darkness - Interrupts long actions.
    • Blood Echo - If you really don't want to deal with exhaustion, since everyone will be injured, this will get much higher value.

S-tier killers will be (in no particular order):

    • Legion - With the increase in healing even more, Thana will be amazing on them to the point where (i'd have to math this out, but) it probably would be better to just take the 20% gen speed reduction than it would be to try healing someone, they might end up being a-tier instead but we'll have to see how it works in practice
    • Wesker - With his massive terror radius can make use of a combo like - sloppy/thana/distressing/coulorophobia
    • Wraith - Hit and run wraith is back
    • Spirit - Now you are injured for so much longer so her power becomes much stronger. The main counter to spirit is to keep healed up so she can't hear you as easily, this will be miserable.
    • Blight - Because blight
    • Nurse - Because Nurse

A-tier killers will be (in no particular order)

    • Pig - With a perk like Face the darkness, using the "forever traps" build and all of these healing stuff, you'll make the game miserable.
    • Oni - Getting that first hit will be hard, but once you start the snowball you'll feel great
    • Twins - Twins are coming back because the healing meta is what countered them.

B-Tier killers will be (in no particular order)

    • Doctor - Can interrupt healing (and regress it when using sloppy) and force them to leave madness wasting healing time.
    • Sadako - Her hit and run style with wraith can be strong, but probably weaker than wraith still
    • Ghostface - Similar to sadako and wraith, but still probably weaker than wraith.

Killers you think would be good but will actually be bad:

    • Plague - You already don't want to heal against plague because you don't want to cleanse, but with less gen regression than before, she won't be able to hang as well as she used to.
    • Skull Merchant - Even though she has good stealth, the fact that 3 genning, her strongest thing has been so heavily nerfed it won't matter. Additionally the penalty of being exposed matters less because everyone will just be injured all the time.
    • Deathslinger - Even though being injured is good for deathslinger and his long range shots, he still has no map pressure, leading him to being forced to 3-4 gen, which with a lot of those perks gone now he won't be able to to do as effectively.

Top builds for the S-Tier killers:

    • Legion - Filthy Blade (longer mending)/Defaced Smiley Pin(sloppy in the form of addons) - Thanataphobia/Distressing/Coulrophobia/Deadlock - Legion can increase their terror radius which benefits their tracking, and also makes coulrophobia even better, the longer mending and free sloppy in the form of addons means they can use other perks
    • Wesker - Egg/LooseCrank (makes his power good at loops) - Coulrophobia/Distressing/Thanataphobia/Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain - With his massive terror radius already, you can stand near the center of the map with this and hit nearly the entire map. You'll never want to heal, nor could you with this build, plus you have to deal with infection when it hits you.
    • Wraith - ShadowDance (fast pallet breaking)/ Swift Hunt (fast uncloaking) - Sloppy Butcher/Thanataphobia/Leverage/Deadlock - Wraith is always great at getting the first hit, and sloppy makes healing take forever meaning you'll be able to keep the whole team injured extremely easily, the fast pallet breaking means that predropping pallets will remove their defenses super quick, and fast uncloaking means you can hug them, uncloak and guarantee a hit if they don't get to anything
    • Spirit - MDR ( faster phase)/Amulet(longer phase) - Sloppy Butcher/Thanataphobia/Leverage/Deadlock - Same build as wraith for pretty much the same reasons, except your power is better for chasing.
    • Blight - Alch Ring/Compound 21 (aura reveal) - Coulrophobia/Distressing/Thanataphobia/Scourge Hook: Gift of Pain - Same build as wesker, even though blights terror radius isn't bigger, he can move so fast that he can be anywhere on the map instantly, so if you know someone is healing somewhere you can easily be there to interrupt them, also blight.
    • Nurse - Catatonic (less fatigue for chain blinks/Fragile Wheeze (Sloppy in addon form) - Thantaphobia/Gearhead/BBQ/Lethal - As a nurse main with nearly 3k hours i know her quite well, aura reading is her game. With the buff to gearhead, which makes it dummy good on her, i'll swap out my pain res for thana, and my other addon for sloppy and she can also play the anti-healing game, but also be able to basically see every survivor pretty much all the time.

My favorite part, is that they made gearhead nurses best perk.

Aside from putting Legion on S-Tier, I agree with you on most points. And the devs will thank you for the perk list so they know what needs to be "reworked" next 😂 Anti Heal, Hit&Run, Pentimento/Plaything and Gen Lock Perks will definitely be a common feature. I hope they leave my Wraith alone :(

I agree. Though, CoH will still be useful, if used correctly. DH got what it deserved. I won't miss it. I would have been happy with a complete rework for that perk as well but here we are.

New CoH is trash for Solo Q. Even in a SWF I wouldnt use it. CoH was good because you could heal yourself in the radius. If I depend on my mates to heal me in a specific location on the map, I can do without it.

Again, we're not here to debate which side got the harder nerfs. It's not us versus them. I want to discuss what the meta shake is good for and why we need to make several perks useless.

  • If I got a dollar for every 'us vs them' thread...

  • @dollidahlia said:

At least they can still use dead hard. The chances of your save not being safe is harder to get thanks to the borrow time base kit.

people saying that dead hard is “dead” are literally just acting like babies. It’s not dead, it was reduced

Saying Dead Hard is dead has nothing to do with entitlement. If you think new Dead Hard is still good, then you're either a very inexperienced DBD player, haven't given the change some thought, or you're just a biased killer main.

  • @Ulfberto said:

Some games like card games nerf meta/popular things so a new meta can emerge and keep the game fresh and not stale/the same for ever. The problem is that DBD community is so attached to perks that they get mad when their favorite perk is hit for the sake of more game variety. Not saying this patch is on spot with the nerfs and buffs, just saying ppl overreact for no reason because they dislike changes (yet they still ask for them *shrug*).

That's partially BHVR fault as well, doing such big changes to a community that is used to the same meta for very long time. If this was done regularly, there wouldn't be so much reaction from community im psure.

That would actually make sense as a reason, I haven't seen it that way yet. Actually that's a good idea too, but as you mention, no matter which side they're on, people will always complain.

  • Unless you have hearing issues, the visual terror radius will not give you any significant advantage.

This is not a Us VS Them thread and your comments have nothing to do with my original questions. So please stay on topic.

  • @Kimdinhold said:

    Devs is biased.

4 Meta killer perks get nerfed and 2 meta survivor perks get reworked.

Dead hard and CoH still fine after little change but Eruption , CoB , Overcharge and Pain Resonance get nuked.

What the fog? The devs are doing everything they can to keep DBD alive. Imagine these people want to earn money for their work (I know, how dare they). So why should they be biased?

Dead Hard and CoH got the self-care treatment. So if you're one of those urban evading Claudettes who still selfcare in a corner, yes, then these perks will probably still be fine in your opinion.

  • @DBD78 said:

Late to the party just been reading the changes so new meta this is my thoughts:

For killer with big nerfs to gen kicking + pain and the survivor nerfs to healing I'm thinking Corrupt, Deadlock, Sloppy, Franklins sounds like a meta build to make it even worse for survivors with healing and still having something to deal with "gen rush" which will be worse.

Survivor probably a lot of SB which I can see being annoying having four SB survivors now with DH nerfed. And Prove Thyself and perhaps Overzealous will be in builds since healing nerfs will make "gen rush" even more important. SWFs will of course use COH a lot for fast healing each other.

Your real question is what will people complain about next and what will be nerfed next 😅

  • That's a good question and I really dont know why. Drift Billy enjoyers (double boots) like me will also be punished by these changes. It's time I let go of Billy </3

  • @Nirgendwohin said:

I can't find anything about it in the DBD ToU. Hence my question, may i stream / record the game and the other players and publish the recording on different public platforms (like youtube)?

Different countries have different laws, but i don't know which country the players come from. Playing DBD with 4 other random people is not played in public space and I cannot ask the killer or crossplayers for permission before the game.

I can't imagine it not being allowed in any country. Players use pseudonyms rather than their real names, so they are already anonymous. And if you want to be absolutely sure, activate the streamer mode in DBD, then the names of other players will be hidden.

  • I think it's great that DBD is committed to more accessibility. This is a feature that has unfortunately been ignored for a long time in the video game era. I look forward to future changes :)

  • I often offer the killers a free kill if they've had a bad game, but most of the time they decline. But I've also experienced that the last survivor didn't want the hatch.

"I just get annoyed" that's a you problem not a reason to change the game.

You're changing the subject. You try to argue that this failing of skillchecks you never get adds tension in a horror-appropriate way. I point out that it doesn't, and that it just frustrates and annoys. It's not thematically appropriate.

"liked by 1% of the player base" That's an assumption a very weak argument to make. People often over estimate opinions that agree with them and underestimate the reverse, there is a lot of good research on why and how we do this. Its worth reading.

I'm still pretty confident that you are part of a very diminutive portion of the playerbase that is actually positive about this mechanic, because humanly, it doesn't make sense.

The only ones I can imagine would be on board with it would be killer mains who never play survivor and don't care what edge they get, as long as it helps them win. They'll probably be positive about it.

I'm not saying all RNG is good but in this case the specific item being discussed isn't as impactful and game breaking and people like to bemoan and if it results in game loss then things were likely not going your way to begin with, so again a very weak premise you have here.

Swinging a close, fair, and thrilling match on complete RNG is even more antithetical to good game design. Yes, it won't turn a stomp around, but it will specifically devalue the best kind of match more than anything else, which, to me, makes it worse.

That's also underestimating the impact as well. As I mentioned earlier in the thread, it can happen multiple times in succession, which can have an enormous impact, especially if it's a hotly contested gen. Imagine trying to break a 3-gen but getting set back extra, for no reason. That's going to drag the game out and quite likely make you lose.

Also also, there's entire killer perks that have less impact.

"RNG runs counter to the value of the game, why because it represents a loss of player agency or license" Lets dissect this one objectively. Loss of license (or player agency) is one of the core mechanics in DBD, you spend time on the ground or hanging on a hook unable to engage in your objective, which is a complete loss of player agency.

Except in this case, it is a failstate concluding an exercise in player agency, meant to enhance the stakes of the preceding chase. It's also building up the teamwork aspect of the game as it creates situations for other players to go for rescues and heals.

The RNG we're discussing is not that. It has no meat on its bones, it's just a randomised set-back for no reason and through no fault or influence of the survivor. There is no interaction, no engagement. It just happens and the survivor gets annoyed. It doesn't create new gameplay or enhance any other gameplay.

This is what I mean when I say weak arguments, it's really poorly thought out and often hard to logically justify. I'm happy to entertain a differing opinion but make it a rational one. Take more time to think between posts if you need would be my advice.

Well, we're running into a bit of a problem here...

I hope they don’t remove it because I think it’s fine and if it annoys people and tilts them into playing poorly to the point they lose entire games over it than more power to it.

And that is that you are literally rolling like a troll and you flat-out say you -want- to frustrate players.

From a game design perspective, you can't rationalise that. It's legitimately just making the game worse. You may get a kick out of it, but no one else does.

I've already identified this guy as a troll based on his weak responses, constant repetition even when the arguments were debunked or further information requested, refusal to directly acknowledge points and fall back on "well you guys said it's annoying and this is a horror game so that's the only points I'll talk about" and making things personal, yet pointing the finger at us for that aspect. I'm done engaging with him, in anything other than asking him to leave if this doesn't matter to him, lest this fall into an even further pointless circle.

Thank you for all of your reasonable (not just because we agree!) feedback on this thread and the attempts to shed light and reason on the topic. Regardless of what he said we are allowed to agree with each other without it being "mistaking your opinion for fact.", at the end of the day we can support each other in what we wish to happen in this game, regardless of the opinions of someone who seeks nothing more than a rise out of people.

"I don't find this a problem so neither should you", is an argument that could be made about literally anything, but is historically proven unhealthy, as this is a manipulative mentality and stance to have. Sure some people on this forum are ridiculous with their requests and are absolutely crybabies, but our request is genuinely reasonable and the solution already exists in the game. If we don't talk about what we find a problem, we all become sheep or a hivemind, and that is not a real humane community. We are allowed to disagree and that should never be challenged with a "I don't care though" if he didn't care, he would have been gone long ago. Him not caring does not mean we should not care too, his first comment on this thread ended with a "change your perspective" and his current last comment ended with a "I hope they don't change it because I think it's fine", as if he needed any more ways to say "My opinion is the only one that matters" That attitude needs to look itself in the mirror before telling others that they are mistaking opinion for fact.

Today BHVR announced the coming changes to the bloodweb people have asked for for ages, I guarantee this is something a small percentage of people "didn't see as an issue", but the majority definitely wanted the change, and this wasn't even something that actually impacts you inside the game at all. If nobody mentioned it, or those who did mention it were met with "well I don't care so neither should you" at every turn, this great change would not be coming soon. BHVR has been making great changes to this game over the last year that I've been playing.

He's arguing just for the sake of arguing, regardless of whether we agree with some of his points or not, and claims that to be a consistency issue. I don't think it's inconsistent at all to say, "Hey this is irritating to me when it absolutely changed the outcome of my game, but if there's times where the gen explodes and nothing comes out of it I really don't care that much about it in those moments", it's just admitting there is some of his claims I can agree with, even if we don't agree fully.

But I digress, it was made quite clear in his last reply to me what he seeks from us, and I'm done feeding the troll.

Wise words my friends, but honestly, arguing with such people is a waste of time. That's one of the reasons why I ignore a lot of the comments here.

I don't know why some people have to torpedo constructive threads like this one. Some just want to troll. Others are biased or don't get the point of the thread. I also sometimes wonder what the motivation behind certain comments is. There are definitely some reasons... attention seeking? Pushing comment count? Hoping for Vote Ups? Idk

Nonetheless, I'm happy to see that there are still people on the forums who aren't one-sided biased and who are actively trying to improve the game. Even if it's just a small change. That's why I continue to support your idea in the hope that the devs will take notice.

That's all. Even with the bonus at 100%, I still find Survivors who often get less than I would if Killer had no bonus.

The BP discrepancy should be reduced, is there any reason why it shouldn't be?

If the devs implement a way to spend all bloodpoints at the push of one button, then you have my support. At the moment I spend a lot more time in the bloodweb simulator than in the match. I can't tell you how many BP I earn on average as a survivor. Often I get between 25 and 30k, rarely less than 20k. Then there are the 100% bonus points + bps and cakes from my mates.

Nevertheless, I support this idea because I am for fairness, even if it doesn't affect me.

I can't say why the devs never changed it. Maybe they wanna encourage us to play killer?

Anyway, I'm out. I agree with the final reply the OP made to me and have noting to add. I'll leave it at that.

Ok, sorry, then ignore what I wrote. Just wanted to be polite and address your points/question. For me it would have stayed with my first comment if you hadn't reacted to it.

No, Sluzzy's threads were of high quality. Still miss them :(

    BTT:

With the HUD and a bit of gamesense you can estimate where the killer is. No need to show the aura. It would also give SWF an unfair advantage because they can reveal specific mind games and actions of the killer to the chased one.

  • @NITRAS42 said:

I think the short answer is, Yes, it is a problem.

It isn’t a big problem and doesn’t impact games much because most games are a snowball one way or another. There are so many other bigger problems with the game and the devs only have so much bandwidth. A half ass solution would be worse than a good one.

I think most of us would agree with you that this is not DBD's biggest problem. I think it's still important to point out the small issues as well, like the OP did. That's why I'm happy about constructive threads like this one and support them.

And I agreed with the OP and all for bringing it the attention of the devs.

But the fact of the matter is until the devs do make a change (and yes, I'm all for making posts about it) we are stuck with what we have. Personally, it's not a huge issue for me. Am I not allowed to share my experience because it doesn't 100% match the OPs? This doesn't mean I don't agree it should be changed. Once again I'll ask, why do you have such an issue with discussing ways other people deal with it in its current state? And, no just mentioning our strategies around it will not make the devs think there is no issue. If that was the case Eruption would have never been changed because evetime a post was made about that people also posted about their ways of dealing with it.

Am I not allowed to share my experience because it doesn't 100% match the OPs?

Nobody here said anything against it, what makes you think that? Feel welcome to share your opinion my friend.

Once again I'll ask, why do you have such an issue with discussing ways other people deal with it in its current state?

Actually, I've already answered this, but I'll try to explain it again in a different way:

People already suggested strategies "that does not solve the problem and that OP already knows and practices." Actually, the thread shouldn't deal with why "sticking to a gen" isn't a solution. OP has already explained in detail why neither "Technician" nor "sticking to a gen" is a solution in many situations. If people don't understand what OP is explaining here, unfortunately I can't change it either.

Imagine you make a complaint thread about tunneling. You explain in detail why tunneling is a strategy that will lead to frustration on survivor side and will discourage people from playing. Now there are 9/10 comments telling you that tunneling isn't that bad and suggesting the following strategies:

    (1) eQUiP dECIsiVe STRIKE/ oFF THE RECORDS

    (2) JUsT rUn aWAy

    (3) DON't lEt THe kILler CAtcH yOu

    How would you feel?

And, no just mentioning our strategies around it will not make the devs think there is no issue. If that was the case Eruption would have never been changed

I'm pretty sure it has an impact on if devs consider a change. However, if 9 out of 10 people say that it is not a "huge issue" for them and continuously distract from the actual core problem, then this certainly reduces the likelihood that the skill check problem will be addressed in the near future. Eruption was changed because the devs were using numbers and stats that showed killers overperforming with eruption. The problem with the skill checks is difficult to prove with numbers. So, in my opinion, the most important thing here is the feedback from the players.

So I find it a pity that some people don't read or understand what OP is trying to say and unfortunately don't provide constructive comments. At least that's my impression.

  • Sounds like we lost all weaker killers to the bots in the custom lobby 😅

Oh, I read their post in full, understand where they are coming from and agreed but the fact is we are not devs and can't change the game so until it is changed (if it ever is) the counter is to wait for a skill check or use Technician (I'm not aware of any other way). I don't see why pointing out ways to deal with it in its current state is so controversial.

I know you're a nice person and you're trying to help. So I'll try to explain briefly what moved me to the comment.

The OP already suggested a very good solution for these skill checks in his first post. (overcharge treatment) He also mentioned that these skill checks "encourage sticking to gens for way too long".

Why should you now suggest a strategy (DOn't LeT gO uNTil yoU COmplEte A sKiLl cHEcK) that does not solve the problem and that OP already knows and practices?

This worst case scenario, that you can't finish a gen because of a skill check (let go at 99% before the killer grabs you) and therefore loses, rarely happens. True. But it should NEVER happen.

So we should all stick together and ask for a change.

I know there are bigger problems in DBD than unfair skill checks (e.g. the missing panda onesie for Feng Min). Nevertheless, one should also demand small QoL changes that do not require a great deal of effort.

When people write here that they just sit on the gen (possibly waiting up to 50 seconds for a skill check) and that mostly works for them, then the devs think that no change is necessary.

So Ill go on to push it.

  • Making new friends and still being a friendly killer/ survivor after 6 years of DBD.

  • @Vhillain said:

Hi all, I do my fair share of great skill checks, and also missed skill checks (1k hours and the 4 o'clocks are still rough sometimes lmao), but nothing in this game frustrates me more than mechanics that are completely out of your control - Generator repair and healing skill checks. Obviously I don't mind interactions having skill checks, but what about the ones that you cannot possibly react to, that serve nothing more than a loud noise notification for the killer and free regression that you as the player have little to no control over?

I'm talking about the skill checks that appear at the same time that you let go of an interaction, you hear the sound at the same time that you let go and it automatically fails. Say you are 99'ing a heal, or 99'ing a generator, or you just simply want to let go early for other reasons (rescue teammate, killer is nearby, etc) and this game has this constant state of paranoia that you don't WANT to let go because if you get one of those badly timed 7% chance skill checks you will automatically miss no matter what because the game said so, and then whatever plan you had is immediately backfired.

What is the solution to this problem? I think ALL normal skill checks should function in the same way as Overcharge skill checks, or if you get a skill check at the end of a heal (the game lets you pass it anyway even if the heal is finished). You can let go freely and still have the chance to hit the skill check. Impossible skill checks are very unhealthy for the game, as they encourage sticking to gens for way too long even when you SHOULD have let go, because you are waiting for "one more skill check" due to you knowing you have a small window of safety to leave after passing it. If all skill checks work like Overcharge we can still let go of a generator or cancel a heal without having to worry that we will possibly alert the killer, and we also still HAVE to pass the skill check, so we can't just let go to avoid doing skillchecks altogether.

People can complain about Dead Hard, Pain res/DMS, tunneling, etc to the end of the day, but I and I am sure many others share my sentiment that this skillcheck problem is an actual serious issue that is long overdue for a fix. I have not met a single player that doesn't get agitated by this on a daily basis.

Edit: "Let go of a generator"

    "eQUiP tEChnICiaN"

"DOn't LeT gO uNTil yoU COmplEte A sKiLl cHEcK."

It's a shame that people don't even bother to read your post in full. I don't think they got your point. This is the first meaningful post I've read here in a long time. I absolutely agree with you.

    @Alen_Starkly said:

I have made 2 POSTS about this very issue and no-one seemed to care. Which is very sad. Why don't the survivor or devs care about fixing this? The unfair skill checks are very frustrating and ruin everything for survivors. One thing is missing a skill check because of your own lack of focus or carelessness, but when it's a skill check that cannot be hit due to unfortunate timing, then the survivor(s) suffer due to something out of their control.

DEVS please, stop ignoring this awful frustrating "mechanic". Do something about it.

People prefer to complain about 3 gens, so such topics are unfortunately lost. I feel u.

I enjoy merchant as well though I’m not blind to her flaws

3 genning is an issue but it’s 90% a perk issue and has little to do with knight or merchant

Map designs still sucks but that’s to be expected

Only issue in the chapter is perks being terrible but tbh that’s a given for most chapters

Overall the game is in a good spot imo

Glad to hear :) And yes, the new perks are completely useless :/

  • @Skill_issue said:

remember they dont have the lethality of a nurse...they are m1 killers at heart

after playing most of the weekend against a variation of skull merchants and knights the way to beat the 3 gen situation is quite similar

    1) use a good toolbox with bnp and prove thyself/tenacity/sprint burst/deja vu (hyperfocus if you are good or resilience if you want to work injured or circle of healing boon setup away from the 3 gens) and a large map offering if desired

    2) dont do the first gen immediately look for a 3 gen and observe the killer see if they are doing a 3 gen set up a circle of healing boon meanwhile or store energy from another gen if possible (you wont lose it if they dont leave the 3 gen you wont get hit)

3)if the killer sets up a 3 gen then split up into pairs and attack the two furthest gens in the 3 gen. one person does the drone/leads the guard away the other person does the gen as efficiently as possible. when the killer comes to your gen, sprint burst away if you have to take a hit take it. using coms or even the survivor hud the other team can see when one survivor is in a chase.

    4) break the 3 gen and marvel as either killer isnt as oppressive as you perceived it...yes i have done this mostly as a solo and even easier as a swf all weekend. not saying the matches will be quick but once the 3 gen is dealt with it really isnt so bad

what i find interesting about both of these killers is that they force survivors to change their gameplans and it seems hard for some people to adapt. before you say i have to change my perk/addon build out to accomodate 2 killers every killer has a different counter play (medkits useless vs a plague for example or its a legion split up and dont do gens together) that is the beauty of dbd

    your thoughts?

You're absolutely right my friend, but you're fighting windmills here. People tell you it's impossible to beat 3gens because they don't have the skills. People refuse to adapt because they wanna play with their fun perks but expect an ez win at the same time. And if they have a match that lasts longer than 10 minutes, they're mad because they want to get back into the lobby simulator asap. People act like they're playing every match against a hardcore 3gen enjoyer. Then they should have learned by now how to counter it, right?

By the way, you forgot about Blast Mine and Prove Thyself. A 3gen can also be broken very well with this. BNP isn't even necessary, I never play with it.

I'm a Solo Q veteran and strangely enough I don't have any issues with 3gens either. The only thing that kills me is incompetent mates, but I've gotten used to that now.

When people say it's impossible to beat an SM or a Knight, I can't take them seriously. The truth is that a lot of people don't like the gameplay of these killers per se, and that's a point. If you don't like 3gen tactics, that's ok, complain. But don't pretend these tactics are op and not beatable.

Sex and horror have been a marketable combo for a long time. I can promise you a video game character showing some skin isn't the end of DBD. Also if this chapter were a "sex grab" they could've done way better than this. Not sure why this of all things moved you to make a thread like this.

The OP is just mad because the new skin might cause him to get distracted during the chase and run into a tree. Maybe it already happened, so he started this thread.

Hello everyone! We always talk about toxicity, and while it's nice to have a good balance of goofing around in a "toxic" way, I think it's just as important to talk about small ways we can make DBD a better place. Let's go!

Giving hatch to the last survivor usually means a lot to them, especially if there was a DC or throw during the game. Having just a little mercy is typically no big deal on the killer's side, but it can still make survivors very happy!

If you close the hatch, it's still not too late to let the survivor leave through the exists. If you're feeling particularly nice you can let them leave through the gates, especially if they leave you an item, which brings us to...

Leaving items for the killer is a sign of humility, or gratefulness. The killer may not keep these items, but it shows you care.

Respecting challenges is also a small way to make survivors happy. Even if you kill them in the end, they helped them reach a goal, so if you see a survivor interacting with a glyph, just pause chase for a moment.

Lastly, be nice in end game chat. Sometimes killers especially feel bullied, so it can mean a lot to go out of your way to be sympathetic and wish them good luck. You can have a "toxic" game and still have wholesome interactions in end game chat. Tell the other team how well they did, or perhaps you see something in common.

At the end of the day, you can play any way you want, and you shouldn't feel pressured into doing a certain thing because it's courteous, this post was just for people who care about this kinda thing. GL!

Replace the DBD community with the Animal Crossing community. You are welcome.

Im mostly talking as a survivor solo q player but at the end, DBD is a tic tac toe game where survivors are filling spaces somewhat blind.

a killer can choose 3 close gens from start and guard them, with that he ensures control over the game.

the killer can start the game normally but always paying attention to their desired gens, once 3-4 gens are done, he can closely guard the other 3 gens and hook survivors in the close area.

my proposal is so killers should not be able to see gens from the start of the game but unlock this ability once the killer hooks survivors 3 or 4 times.

this ensures the killer cant chose what gens to guard and make it a little fair for solo q players.

Welcome to the DBD forum, but I'm not sure if we need this change. If inexperienced killers don't know where the gens are, they'll be encouraged to camp even more.

  • Let me explain it for you:

    Op telling bs = facts

Any people who say otherwise than op are trolls.

Disagreeing with op = personal opinions, not facts.

Only op can declare something as a fact without substantiating it.

I hope I could help you a little bit. I'm sorry you wasted your time here.

  • @nfochairman said:

Serious question....and will anything happen if you do?

I'm actually a killer main and have no respect for hook campers. And i love the casual campers who pretend they're not in the vicinity of the hook and walk around like they're "looking for something or someone"

And it always seems to be PC players...i'm sure it's not but seems that way

So is it a thing, can they be reported?

    1. "Camping" is not against the rules. Why report something that is allowed?

    2. Sure. Pc players are pure evil. They especially like to camp console players.

    Please stop spreading stupid prejudices!

(For clarity i mean getting like 50 of a addon thats actually really good but just not using it). So i got into spirit recently to try the Mother-daughter ring and Cherry Blossom combo, and it with YakuYoke Amulet. Its pretty effective and definitely makes her easier. But looking at my 50 MDRs and 97 cherry blossom (spending 2 mill on her rn so that will probably rise) i kinda looked at all my killers. I have a lot of addons that are very good. Yet the amount of games i use these "amazing addons" i could count on 2 hands. Maybe i have a fear of using them especially if they are higher raritys? I don't get that feeling on some killers. With most of them their very good addons being in the lower raritys. I probably have enough addons for millions of games, i just i don't use them that much. How about you?

Also, did you forget Jeff is an artist, too? Do you know how much creativity you can get out of outfits when the only thing you're limited by is "artist"? Yet BHVR seems to have forgotten that and have just slapped on the "metal fan, leather jacket" label.
