Nah, you'll hate me for using blast mine and maybe Head On (soon).

Also, I am one of those strange specimens who use counterforce, so say bye bye to your hexes.

To be honest, there is currently only one perk that annoys me. And its name is Boil Over. I don't care about Blast Mine as I rarely use Gen Kick perks. Head On doesnt work that often cuz survivors doestn use it in a good way. And I rarely experience good teams with Head On. As long as you're playing with SelfCare, you're basically on my team and betray your mates.

Oh, and I've never used Hex Totems that much. I know they can be very strong sometimes. But fortune hates me, so I'd rather use consistent perks.

  • I would definitely appreciate that. "Killer Instinct" might be too much, but some visual info for footsteps would be fair (similar to "Ghostface" when revealed)

Genuine question. Why do you feel the need to broadcast your sexuality to everyone and anyone in a video game? Especially considering I’m sure lots of kids play this game as well.

Do you think it's kid friendly to murder innocent people in a video game while coming out as gay is the devil's work? However, as mentioned above, children should not play DBD.

Personally, I don't feel the need to reveal my sexuality in DBD to other people BUT if others want to, I'm totally fine with that. It is a way in which new contacts can be made outside of DBD. Where is the Problem?

  • Sure, they should take their time with that. Still, I'd rather have 3 mates than just two, whether Thana is there or not.

Have you noticed that the bots sometimes teabag? Not even the bots take you seriously anymore 😂

Ok, I fall inside that category now that CoH has been nerfed and I play in SoloQ

You monster! If I see you in my Solo Q Lobby I will dodge you. As a killer I will love you <3

  • Self Care with No Mither is less cruel because people can't waste time healing themselves in a corner for 69+ seconds... every single time 😱

  • Im sure they shadow nerfed pig.

  • @Slan said:

So which is the most evil, annoying, or highly effective builds you hate to see used against you but you love using/ seeing your teammates using as both killer and survivor? Also why do you regard said builds in that way?

Any survivor that has Self Care as their only healing perk.

  • @IWasLeft2Die said:

Had a game where a Trapper destroyed my team. I was the last one left and i fully expected them to kill, but they intentionaly let me wiggle free. They stood and let me open the gate but downed me right away and hooked me. I'm fine with someone not giving mercy (or actually being merciful) on a survivor but don't pretend to be nice just to dunk on them right away. Either kill me right away or let me go. I'm not your plaything.

I'm likely making this a bigger deal than it is since it just happened to be fair.

    Thanks for reading my rant

It's immature behavior, no question. I think most players have also experienced this situation. However, you shouldn't take it to heart. At the end of the day, DBD is just a video game and you shouldn't give these people satisfaction by being angry about it.

    What about Claire?

For me it just varies too much, most Zarinas I see are great, they're just in the match to get stuff done and make sure we all escape.

Bill's are always so helpful and kind, they always go to save me and help out, I love Bill's!

Honestly, I would put Claire in the same category as Ada, Rebecca, and Leon.

  • @Nazzzak said:

    What about Zarinas?

In my experience, Zarinas behave similarly to Janes. I don't meet them often, but they rarely strike me as negative. They usually do a good job and aren't toxic.

  • I congratulate you, my lord. Therefore, I delight your thread with my 888th comment. (The 999th will be saved for the next "Nerf Pig thread") In fact, I also really enjoy playing the knight and am very successful with him without breaking a sweat in my armor.

    My loadout looks like this:

Dried Horsemeat + Map Of The Realm (Thanks to these AddOns, my guards get a lot of hits on average)

Brutal Strength + Sloppy Butcher + STBFL + Eruption

I play very chase oriented and always try to have at least two survivors fun at the same time.

  • Just killem all before the last gen is done. Problem solved. Your welcome.

Seriously, I dont think your thread will stop butt dancing at the exit gates. Take a small break or force'em to leave.

Streamers like that are why both sides will never get along. It’s this endless cycle of toxicity that divides this community. It’s so sad honestly.

People love to watch streamers act like idiots and give other people a bad time. This is a general problem of human mentality. In my country we call it Schadenfreude - the joy of the suffering of others.

  • @Fawiola said:

Why are there so many bad Players in dbd? The reason why I play solo que alone? And I win and have really more fun without them.

Reason? I met alot people in dbd and played alot with other but you met only people without empathy and anything else. The main thing is to escape, no fun. Example: I played with someone long time.

We are complete different. I have perks that help the team. I want that all survivor can escape. I try everything. I love teamplay. And If I die because of that. I had my fun! I don't care. I don't need to escape.

    My friend....

Play bond and say: I use bond because If I'm in the chase I want see the survivor and bring the killer to them.

This friend repair generator, someone have the chase near to him and he say: Ohh you bring the killer to me, you pay for that.

This guy teabbag and sandbag all the other player ( don't unhook, don't heal other even If they beggin, teabbag at the hook other survivor and ruin for everyone the game and try to find the hatch. Just want escape.

Endgame: other survivor on the Hook, this guy laugh and don't want help. Even If I want help.

Then one day I see with kindred that my friend show the Killer where I am xDD

I think #########? I always help him, I want they all escape. Heal everyone. Im very altruism. And he said: Look there killer, I want live.

Another example: this guy get tunneled and he is crying. Help me, Help me. And If he die but I escaped he is angry, so angry. Blame everyone else for everything.

Why! Why! You have so many people like that in this game. Without teamplay, without empathy or anything else. Why they still play this game?!

I met many people like that. Is it so hard to play for fun? To find and play with people with a good mindset ? Play normal? Yes very hard....!

I've also met a lot of toxic people in DBD over the years. I've now removed over 50 contacts from my friends list because they acted like idiots ingame and just raged. Before playing in a SWF with such people again, I'd rather stay in the Solo Q. Even if friends come up with some hotheads and ask me to play, I categorically refuse.

  • @CorvusCorax86 said:

I do not understand how one can stay for longer than 20 minutes not to mention 50. I would start taking risks which would either work (in a good team) or would result in me being sacrificed (with team mates having fun extending the match for eternity).

I'm in Europe (Central, GMT+1). I barely see any SMs but Weskers (the tunneling / camping kind) are aplenty. I would gladly switch with you.

This. If people are hiding and are too scared to make gens, the killer will always win. You must play offensively to defeat a 3 gen. And at least two gens should be in progress at the same time.

I'm in Europe (Central, GMT+1). I barely see any SMs but Weskers (the tunneling / camping kind) are aplenty. I would gladly switch with you.

    Same to me.

Would anyone like to guess how many of them held a 3-gen?

Would anyone else like to guess how long the games were?

I think I figured out why some people enjoy playing her that way. One of them was streaming and had a "Skull Merchant Rage DC counter" on display and when I asked them what it was for they said something along the lines of, "For the ragequitting Survivor mains who throw a tantrum whenever a Killer is winning".

Yeah, just venting, not meant to be taken super seriously. I still think she needs to be completely re-designed. I really should stop playing Survivor as well lmao

Maybe you really should take a break. Otherwise I'll take all your SM and give you my Pinheads, Legions and Whiskas.

I appear to have not gotten the notification that you replied, apologies.

Fact: Her lore is bad. I've not seen a single person defend it and it's been meme'd to death. Even her Tome isn't looking good. I could've wrote something better for free.

Fact: Her power is only good at holding down specific areas of the map. This leaves her with two "viable" styles of play. Totem defender and 3-gens.

Fact: Her power allows her to use Overcharge, Call of Brine and other gen kicking perks to their fullest potential, meaning she can effectively hold games hostage.

Fact: Her power cannot be buffed without it buffing her aforementioned playstyles, I call this, Legion-syndrome.

Fact: Her optimal playstyle (3-genning) is only able to be beaten by coordinated teams willing to waste half an hour of their lives.

Fact: Without her 3-gens or totem defending, she's almost useless. She has a tiny amount of stealth and some of her add-ons make her function like Knight. Place Drone at loop, leave loop, repeat.

Fact: Her chase music is a 1 second loop.

She's the worst designed Killer overall. If you enjoy playing her, that's completely fine. I enjoy playing Legion, but that doesn't mean that I don't recognize that they are also poorly designed

You are not sharing any facts with us here, but rather your personal opinions seasoned with exaggerations and false information. You are free to share your dissatisfaction with Skull Merchant and DBD in general in what feels like every thread in this forum, so that every DBD Forum user knows your opinion. But please stop calling your dislikes for certain characters "facts".

Fact: Her lore is bad. I've not seen a single person defend it and it's been meme'd to death.

Imagine that just because you don't see something doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I for one like her lore, and apparently I'm not the only one.

And we found the singular "dark Brazilian manga" defender.

And you make rude jokes about it.

This leaves her with two "viable" styles of play. Totem defender and 3-gens

No. If you know how, you can also play her chase-oriented. Few killers in DBD have more than two effective ways to play. Why does this make a killer bad? Good killer strategies are usually a combination of chase, 3gen, strategic camping, tunneling and slugging. Blindly committing to a strategy doesn't work with good survivors. You always have to adapt to your opponents and to the RNG and remain flexible in terms of your strategy.

Her power allows her to use Overcharge, Call of Brine and other gen kicking perks to their fullest potential, meaning she can effectively hold games hostage.

Since Overbrine was nerfed, this problem no longer exists.

Fact: Her optimal playstyle (3-genning) is only able to be beaten by coordinated teams willing to waste half an hour of their lives

It's not rocket science to beat a 3 gen. There are killers like Nurse or Wraith where it is much more difficult to defeat a 3 gen. Strangely, my SM matches last between 10 and 20 minutes. And I pretty much only play Solo Q. If my mates fail at SM, they'll fail at any other killer as well. So it's not a Skull Merchant problem.

I enjoy playing Legion, but that doesn't mean that I don't recognize that they are also poorly designed

You think Legion is poorly designed, but you still enjoy playing them? That does not make sense.

So before you presume to describe a killer as objectively poorly designed, you should at least formulate criteria to support your assessment. But you didn't do that. Therefore, it ultimately remains your personal subjective opinion and nothing more.

  • Wait, we're not complaining about Skull Merchant anymore? Leave my Wraith alone, he's in a good spot.

    1. Map Design/ RNG
    2. Bugs
    3. Matchmaking

She is good, people dont want try understand her and just play trigen Adriana because people have laziness about learn her. She pretty good in chases using 1 drone and chase's builds, brutal, bamboozle, etc, She has so much potencial with her addons. hide red light, make skill checks smaller than normal, no sound for skill checks, aura reading, she has a lot of potencial and who likes Adriana, like me, dont play on trigen, because is boring a lot. Now, people hate Adriana and her playstyle because so many people needs just to complete the rift. The real enjoyers of Adriana dont play in tri gen style. ----> Who hates and screaming about trigen Adriana are who more play as her in that style.<----

    Try chases builds

    Try impossible skill check builds

    Try furtive builds

She has a lot of potencial to be explore and enjoy.

I couldn't agree more. I especially like her jumpscare ability on indoor maps.

I'll also be happy when the rift is over and the general hate spreads to Blight, Nurse or Whiskas again 😅

  • @NotAnotherDoctor said:

The only thing worse than playing against her is playing as her.

If it wasn't for these challenges I wouldn't be going anywhere near her but I'm trying to get the rift done as quickly as possible so that I can call it a day and not worry about not finishing it later.

Are there any good builds for her? Even with the recent changes I still can't for the life of me find use in her for chasing

If you wanna play chase oriented:

Game afoot, Play With Your Food, Scourge Hook: Pain Resanance, Brutal Strength.

Always place 3 drones at the gens to get your speed bonus. One drone for the chase or as a reserve. With Game afoot and PWYF you will be up to 20% faster and mostly chase your obsession. I recommend the green addon for exhaustion and the purple addon for 2% more haste and 15% BS or aura reading. If u do it right, this build is very effective.

Then I am curious, what exactly are the facts that make her objectively bad? Because if she is objectively bad, you must have facts to prove such a point.

"I don't like Killer xy = Killer xy is boring = objectively bad design"

Well, we have two chapters from Japan, and chapter from Brazil, and a chapter from Korea and others

But what about the Middle East chapter? Which Arabs or The majority are Arabs

Not only chapters But the Arab community wants the Arabic language in a game, and some even offered to volunteer to add the Arabic language, and this is not new because the Arab community has demanded this for years, and you can find some of them since 2017 asking or offering to volunteer to translate the game into Arabic

Isn't this strange for behavior that does not look at the Arab community?

The Arab community is a big community however, there is no response from the developers which is strange

You might say that Zerina is indeed an Arab

But I will say that Jake is from Korea and yet they made a chapter from Korea

What the Arab community wants is very clear (a complete Arabic chapter) and (the addition of the Arabic language)

In fact, I was also wondering why arabic culture hasn't arrived in DBD yet. I'm from europe, but I'd really appreciate a survivor and killer from the arab world. Arabian mythology offers enough material that would fit in DBD.

Of course, we cannot represent every single culture at once. But I think a community of 350 million members where DBD is popular shouldn't be "left behind" ;) So it is totally fine to ask for it.

You heard me. Skull Merchant is actually fun. Her addons do need some tweaks though. Her iridescent addons are bad but otherwise she's really fun to play as or against and has numerous strategies that she can utilize. It's just that the majority of Dead by Daylight fanboys are a collective hivemind spewing the same opinionated crap that they consumed from some Twitter or Reddit user and the majority follows them like sheep, lacking any personality or critical thinking.

Keep hating. I am going to keep enjoying this game while you bawl your eyes out.

SM isn't my favorite, but I enjoy playing against and with her. She may not be a masterpiece, but with 31 killers it's not easy to reinvent the wheel either.

Unfortunately, the majority of forum users are only here to spread complaints without providing constructive criticism. You rarely read positive feedback here. And when that happens, you can be sure that the same whiners and haters will always add their two cents. Luckily these people don't represent the entire DBD community. So keep having fun with SM :)

    My vote is yes.

The perk only affects a specific subset of players (those on Console) and it affects them to the point where it is still impossible to hook people if they have it on certain maps.

    Thoughts?

Boil Over is also an annoying perk for Pc gamers. I wouldnt miss it.

  • @ad19970 said:

The three slowdown perks being nerfed so hard is also because of the healing nerf. They are taking some of the slowdown potential from those slowdown perks and adding it to killers basekit.

And the more I think about it, the more I believe PR will still be a good perk, when also considering the healing nerf. Plus the nerf is perfect, as it will still help killers more early on during the game but not so much later anymore.

So after playing some matches on PTB I can agree that PR is still better than CoB and Overcharge. Still, I would prefer that they remove the DMS + PR synergy and therefore not change PR. I won't miss CoB and Overcharge, but both perks are kind of useless now. PR was a lot healthier for the game than all the gen kick perks as PR encouraged a more chase oriented playstyle.

  • @Chocolate_Cosmos said:

Recently I saw that some content creators uploaded videos with bait-like titles with theme of "possible end of DbD" just after PTB came out few days ago.

Seriously, I am disapointed of this bait / exaggerative narrative. First of all, it's PTB and I am pretty sure some changes will be reverted since so many people online including influencers are talking how bad it is. Giving objective feedback is of course in need but I really don't like this exaggerative apocalypse themed narrative.

Second, we had in the past some quite not great patches. The last meta-shake up was also big nerf to solo Survivors and people were calling it "the end of DbD" as well. So MANY times in the past was "end of DbD" but it never happend and same case will be with this patch even if all these changes will go live.

Some content creators would sell their grandma just to get attention. I find it annoying too, but I can understand that they need the baits to attract people. It's a bit like the tabloids, which even spread false information to appear more interesting. What annoys me even more is the DBD community, which heralds the end of the world with every patch.

I mean, I also expressed my concerns about the upcoming patch, but still we have to try it and wait and see.

Just to clarify one point: devs dont listen to feedback from fog whisperers. That program is just for marketing purposes, hand out a few auric cells so they can showcase new content as long as you stay positive about the game. Public criticism of the game will very quickly lead to you no longer being a fog whisperer.

Perhaps that is true of the majority of Fog Whisperers. They have proven often enough that they listen to the community. Why do you think the change to the Skull Merchant came so quickly when they had barely collected any data yet? Or just the changes to the 3 Gen Meta. And Feng Min got a crop top!

I can't speak for all of the Fog Whisperers, but I know at least two who offer unbiased criticism and let it be known.

I'm not saying that the devs implement exactly what the community wants. Of course, in the end they make the decisions themselves and that's a good thing.

Why listen to content creators about what's going to be "meta" when you can find what perks you like and go from there

    That's what I did...

I've always picked the perks that best suit my play style. Each of my killers come with at least two different loadouts. I also like to change perks on the survivor side. However, many people prefer to turn off their brains and let their favorite creators feed them. I mean it's ok to get inspiration when you don't have a clue yourself. Unfortunately, a lot is taken over blindly without being reflected. That's why I often react sarcastically when someone opens the next "Streamer x told us the truth"-thread.

I play both survivor and killer but I mostly play survivor and truthfully I’m quite glad they nerfed DH and the reason is because I mostly see players who waste a perk spot for it while never timing it right or the ping screws them over and a lot of different things that might happen to make it useless unless you’re up against a trigger happy killer.

Regarding the gen reg perks the nerf was overdue imo and the reason is that I’m playing to have fun chasing survivors not to transform into a mindless robot who has a religious duty to worship 3 gens nonstop.

The only problem I see with this upcoming patch is the healing stuff, it’s seriously too much, I kinda agree with the CoH nerf but that’s it it would’ve been enough there’s no reason to nerf healing itself and what you’ve done now is nerfing gen reg perks but buffing the hell out of Sloppy builds and Legion, so congrats playing survivor is now much less fun.

The flashlight nerf is absolutely out of nowhere and nobody needs it but idc if it makes you feel better.

I don’t think there’s a need to even talk about the billy nerf lol it’s too hilarious and I would actually lose all hope in the devs if it survives the ptb.

Thanks for the auto Bloodweb btw !

BTT: To be honest, I would also like people to wait for the PTB and then comment. Of course, you can already express concerns, but people should argue objectively and less emotionally.

Again PR affects the Gen with the most progress on it... while Jolt affects Gens around you

Yea I kinda went to far by using the word only... sorry

But then again there are perks that are underrated... Oppression being one of them

I don't play much Survivor so I only know of Killer perks

Im aware of their effects and what they do 😉 However, PR on its own won't tell you which gen is affected unless you're next to it. I think you're telling me that PR is better than Jolt. Maybe you're right about that. But I can't discuss it because I don't know exactly which of these two perks causes more regression on average.

BTT: There are some perks that are underrated. That will change once the wise content creators have explained to the general public which perks will become the new meta. The fact that Selfcare was nerfed proves what you're saying. It was NEVER a good perk on its own. Why was it nerfed? Because too many survivors have played with it.

  • Bet I still see you after the update? (:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3381359#Comment_3381359

Cause SH: PR offers more effects then Jolt does

Hooking a Survivor makes the Gen that has the most progress on it to lose 10%... while Jolt only works if you down a Survivor within range and those Gens lose 8%

Hope that kinda answered your question

while Jolt only works if you down a Survivor within range and those Gens lose 8%

Only if you down a survivor? I mean, this is way easier than picking up a survivor and taking them to a badly spawned scourge hook on the other side of the map 😂. Not to mention that you can get a stun, flashlight blind or a sabotaged hook :) Jolt gives you less regression, but if you're lucky you'll hit multiple gens. Also, you only have to down the survivor.

I think both perks are definitely useful, but not overwhelming. Also, both depend on RNG or luck. So I can't say which one is better. Maybe they don't touch Jolt because it only works with a basic attack.

  • @RaSavage42 said:

It's cause BHVR doesn't know why we use these perks... They just gather the numbers of people using certain perks and change them

Honestly at this point I would rather them just make certain perks unselectable/ unusable until they can figure out why certain perks are being used

They just gather the numbers of people using certain perks and change them

Yes, and that's something I don't understand. Not every perk with a high pick rate is automatically a perk that overperforms. A lot of M1 Killers like to use perks like Bamboozle or BS, but still these perks are not gamebreaking. And if old Scourge Hook PR was oppressive, why isn't Jolt nerfed?

1 2 3 4 5 … 18
