After having my posts removed that are about this topic, I suppose I am left to step away from this game and BHVR. It's a shame there isn't better handling of this topic. Good luck to those who hope to play this game in the future!

They didn't delete it. They locked it. It's a shame that people couldn't follow the rules and got it locked, even having been warned several times.
Any bad actor can go into any space and escalate things. Take action toward those people, not a group as a whole.
-
Agreed. The actions here by a moderator have escalated this into a full boycott. I was happy enough having a place to express my frustration, but if that's taken away as well, I am DONE spending any money or time in this game.

That's low.
Don't worry though, we'll make sure get another thread going
Staying on topic with this particular topic shouldn't be hard. Let's try. :)
-
Yeah, after 3 games today... with 2 out of 3 being a nightmare due to this... I'm out for the day.
The most frustrating thing is that there's been some lack of communication with some communication seeming to be warning us not to talk about this. Not what I'd expect...

Another PSA for my fellow console gamers: Don't use Hex: Ruin, if someone wants to they can repeatedly tap gens and that will drop your framerate because there are so many spark effects.
Please do not do this to other players.
At this point, the list of things to not do is so long that it's impossible to not mess something up.

If you don't keep this thread on topic, it will be closed.
When we have information we will post it.
I appreciate the indication that there's information we should hear soon!
I'll keep providing data points so we can get this game working! Thanks for all of your support.

Hello,
Just now I played a game against a Spirit wearing full blighted gear on Lery's (they brought the offering). Game ran like no frames per second and was a complete disaster. I honestly think the player did this intentionally, but everyone died first hook and super fast anyhow...
Losing my will to keep up with the glitches.

2K before October!!! Let’s make it happen:D
Doesn't seem impossible at all.
Lag and whatnot was much better for me yesterday, except for a game against... a Doctor. How shocking.
-
I'd get rid of Rotten Fields and Shelter Woods. Empty and boring.
Also, I LOVE the game... but I wish that was the name of the realm and that the specific map was "Gideon Meat Packing Plant." I desperately want the house from Saw 2 as a map and others from later installments (like part 5) could perhaps be a thing as "The Game pt 2" for example.

I'm glad this thread is getting so much attention. Frame rates have been worse than ever now once cross play was initiated. I have no idea if that's because of cross play, or just because of whatever other changes were simultaneously implemented.
Has there been an update from anyone BHVR? I haven't noticed just yet.

@Ryuzaki said:
I will never opt-in to cross-play as killer for as long as the framerate issues persist on PlayStation 4.
Does this help?
-
I agree with you. The mask makes this super cool.
-
Keys are just a backup plan for when things go horribly for me as a Survivor.
-
Someone said this has to do with fog offerings. Which side does that affect when it happens? Both?
-
I wonder if it's a bigger problem than we'd anticipated.

This thread is not going to die so soon.
I mean I bet it would turn into a thankful thread if a solution was in sight.

So we get 250,000 BP for the sync errors, which is all fine and dandy.
How about console players get free BP for putting up with terrible framerate?
It was better last night for me, except when Doctor was involved.
-
Yeah, Doctor games on PS4 are problematic.
-
I take it as a sign I need to take a break for a bit and move on.

Still no official update from BHVR... We are blatantly being ignored.
I'm sure they will soon.
It also might be something that's being prepped for next gen...
-
Played a game as Clown for a daily on Lerys. People aren't kidding when they say slideshow quality. I didn't DC, but I just went and had a snack and drink and came back to some people who died to the end game collapse. Meh.
-
As survivor, it seems worst when against Doctor. Also problematic when you break a totem, against Freddy, and to a lesser extent, against Pyramid Head.
As killer, it's been worst for me as Huntress or Hillbilly. And while this is totally probably not related, the worst lagging survivors always seem to be Fengs.
-
I don't really think of the maps as being part of the chapter.
Really, there's just a few chapters that are missing an other half: Ghostface, Leatherface, and Ash.
I can't imagine what killer would be appropriately paired with Ash.

Damn you really have understanding problem lol , he can just tap it in 1s while killer have to do a whole animation to break it again , that means the survivor can flee away freely
But that's a choice. It sounds like someone is wanting it both ways is all I'm pointing out.
-
I played F13 and had a root canal back to back. I understand.
-
Was getting crushed by a Spirit and had no hope of escape. So I went and stood by a hill and spun in circles as desperately as I could. She downed me and let me open the gates so I could go.
Moral of the story: make the bugs work for you!
-
Since this update, yes, there have been some insanely close spawns between killer and survivor on the farm maps, particularly Rotten Fields.

Self Care actually requires just as long as when you get healed by someone. You need twice the time but only 1 player is busy, so in certain situations it's actually much better to Self Care so that the other player can do more important stuff such as Unhooking or healing a slugged Survivor.
Pretty annoying to hang on a hook watching the other Survivors healing each other up in a corner.
Right, I think we agree. I prefer people to have agency and dependence, most obviously when I'm playing solo.
-
Self Care isn't a bad or selfish perk. Those who say it takes too long or wastes a slot fail to realize that healing with someone else still takes time and you have to find the person. Or when they say you could just bring a med-kit... well, those have limits too.
-
I like that you're pointing to the potential for the teaser to be misleading. Everyone has basically assumed it's the Alchemist for sure, but I wonder if there's something else going on.
-
Again, the DCs I've been seeing (regardless of platform) seem to be from connection. I've maybe seen one rage quit and they would have been DoH anyhow.

But people doesnt tap the gen mid chase they tap it while killer is busy or while pallet looping being on the other side of the loop . Don't make excuses lol
Then what is the problem?
-
I try to do bones or chests during this.
-
Survivor main here.
I support nerfing survivors overall, but moreso SWF. Somehow. Let me know when you figure out the appropriate nerf.

I wasn't in that game so I hate to speculate. I'm starting to video all my games Monto-style. I don't have any aspirations to become a Streamer. What would I be, the totally Average DbD Streamer, learn from the mediocre. :) No, I'm starting to video every game so I can give evidence every time I report someone so it leads to real bans. If the game goes fine, I can delete it immediately. Of course I might save the really good or funny ones.
I mean my buddies were screaming hacker.
I had no answers, I just hate to blame the hacks.
-
Some testing for my group tonight shows it's not 100% reliable. I appreciate the ideas about terror radius and oblivious, but sometimes it just don't do what it should do now.

Played against a Trapper on PS4 today who was the globe icon.
He hooked someone in the Game basement and was upstairs above the bathroom 5-8 seconds later. Don't know how it was possible. Any thoughts?

The other day he and I were playing against a Mikey. He’s a Claudette running self care and whatever other perks. I’m on the hook and he runs over ave unhooks me. He’s already injured. Mikey is in EW3. After unhooking me, son-dette runs 15-20 meters away and starts self healing. He didn’t want me to heal him for whatever reason. I like to run Empathy on certain builds and so I watched him every time he was wounded. He self-cared a total of four times that game. With a reduction of healing time at 50 percent, he lost over a minute for no reason. In a lot of better ranked games, that minute could be used any number of ways to progress the game other than losing more time running away to a corner, then self-care and then run back to whatever his brain directs him at that time.
I hear you. This sounds like a bad random survivor.
Is it fair to think Self-Care makes bad randoms worse, but that it can serve a purpose with some thought?
-
Before Spirit came out, I had a dream it would be a killer very similar to what she was. Except, she'd mark survivors with curses that either slowed them down slightly, increased the duration of their scratch marks, or caused anything they work on to go slower. If all three were active on different survivors, she could apply an exposed status on the remaining survivor.
Stupid, I know, but it was a weirdly detailed dream on an Egyptian map. And I still thought her name was "the Spirit."

But then if they buffed Dead Hard all of the salty killer mains would get mad and demand for a nerf 😕
I mean I play killer a decent amount and I've never been frustrated by Dead Hard.
Head On, Decisive Strike, Sprint Burst, Adrenaline, and so on, yeah, I've lived those moments. But Dead Hard is one of those, "oh, okay" moments that ends 5 seconds later.
-
I think some survivors love Dead Hard for the dopamine hit it provides when the killer swings and misses.
IMO, it would be a great perk if the killer is stunned if they swing during it.

@Ghouled_Mojo said:
I don’t run it on any build. One of my sons runs it because he doesn’t understand the time delays with it.
Explain the time delay. I'm not coming at you, I just keep hearing this argument and want to understand better.
I can learn. :)

Well i feel with the crossplay Console players Dcing like Hell. I hope rly they fix it and bring the system back
For what its worth, I have been playing with two different friends and there have been tons of DCs between us that are due to something with the servers. It's frustrating for us as well.
-
Report them and move on.
I mean we all prefer games without facecamping, but it happens sometimes. It's okay. You don't deserve that treatment.

It takes you twice as long to heal yourself as someone else does to heal you. You're effectively gimping your team for wasted time. Botany makes it better but still not as good as straight heals or, like, Inner Strength, etc. Just bring a med kit, this is also faster.
So instead of one person spending twice the time, two are spending half the time... seems similar, not considering the fact that someone has to find the other person. With communication, it's totally doable. I have a hard time writing off Self-care as bad under those circumstances.
And there are other items, Franklins, and of course, the limitation of a med kit running out...
-
I'm not arguing either side here, but can someone explain- with math- why Self-Care is bad?
-
I'm probably the only one who feels this way, but I've long thought it's overrated and not powerful. With the exception of great planning, it usually just buys a survivor a few extra seconds. I've seen great play with it for sure, but it's not my favorite exhaustion perk at all.
