  • Somehow my "funniest" endgame chats have been on Legion. I took a long break , long enough to derank to 20 and when i came back and played Legion first game i instantly got told "nice hacks dude, we all reported you" .... people don't know what killer instinct is.

Was playing a meme Caularaphobia / Sloppy / Nurses Legion build to try and get Iridiscent Malicious emblems for a tome was again acussed of not only wallhacks but "lagswitching the heals"

And only yday was playing another meme legion build with Iri button, Enduring / SF for a "break 15 pallets / gen in one trial" tome and within the first 30 seconds of finding all 4 survivors with discordance stabbing 3 and hooking one. 3 of them DCed. I tryed farming with the last dude but after a couple pallets he just pointed at hook. They all 4 stuck around in the endgame chat and i was like "who the hell rage quits against LEGION?" - "everyone? he's top killer" @_@ .... was ofc playing Rank 1 vs like yellow ranks. I'd put money on the "new" MMR test weighing 4man SWF like 5 times higher MM wise.

  • Broken Shackles Hag -> Blight -> Hag i'd say. It's honestly 99% of the reason blight is "third best" killer is shutting down the hold W / M1 meta, wich is sad, cos his power isn't amazing in loops.

  • shrug i've kinda given up on totems, between people with over 1k hours knowing all the spawns, SWF, Small Game, Maps, and the upcoming CounterForce, it's a cause for celebration if your hexes last past the opening minute. I've gone with Corrupt / Pop on allmost all my killers .... then bhvr decided they'd add a freaking LANDMINE perk to counter kicking....

  • I think it depends what the devs define "good" MM as. MM around the current emblem system is a .... baaaaaaad idea considering 2k most of the time will result in a black pip at red ranks and survivors can actually DERANK vs an afk killer, if all you do is 5 gens and escape, you're loosing pips as survivor wich is kinda ass backwards on both fronts.

  • I think the reveal "mechanic" aka look at him, is fine. It's also not broken as i've heard some survivors keep whineing about. It's spazzes out a little when you're really close to each other but that's about it. Most of the "buggy" stuff comes from me stalking from a lean and NOT showing more that 25% of my body and survivors not knowing this.

It isn't "fundamentally broken" it's just weak.... 1) i'd like a reduction from like 32 to 24 meteers for the reveal , essentially terror range radius 2) Hooked / Downed survivors should not be able to reveal you, AT least hooked ones, definetly 3) Lower the cooldown of his power, by a fair bit, it's insane wraith has no CD and a movement speed buff and you need 30 seconds if someone spots you from across the map

  • Ow this MM is beautiful, i've seen something you only hear about in legends but personally i've never seen until yday in my 4k hours..... Insidious Noed Camping =)))) Ngl, he got us, took us completly by surprise. Posted himself in the shack doorway (Pyramid Head) and just paddle slapped my friend going for the unhook as he turned the corner after i ran him all game. It was hillarious.

  • Hmmm anecdotally speaking i THINK what's happening is the MMR system is weighting SWF way WAY to high. All my stompy games have ironically been vs rainbow rank SWF teams. The games i get solo Red Ranks are pretty sweaty.

  • Ye, what OP said, SOMETHING broke with MM, last 5 games in a row i've had like green and yellow ranks, hell i've had one red with 2 BROWN ranks.... i'm rank 1. I was playing Hag for a Tome wich i basically never play, i think they snuck MMR back.

There's no way to tell if someone has DS, borrowed time, sloppy butcher, blood warden, lopro chains, etc until it's too late. Does a pyramid head hitting you through walls have I'm all ears or is he just got good hearing or taking guesses? Did that key a survivor pull have addons because they're running ace's perks? Did they pull a green key from a chest or a purple/pink?

There's a lot that just turns into educated guessing at best and usually only after the fact. Plenty of killers still end up respecting DS because you MIGHT have it.

True but the point about spirit is her gameplay isn't binary. Like you either respect DS or you don't. With spirit it's not "ok i have 2 seconds if she has MDR and 3.5 if she doesn't" there's a gap of several seconds, regarless of addons.

Like take the plauge Ashes, the Iri addon. Considered one of the most powerful killer addons. It may take a while, but once you KNOW the plague has it. It can, to a limited extent, be played around. With spirit you can have 20 different timings between her disapearing and reapearing.... in the same game. Even Nurse to some extent after thousands of hours you can accurately guestimate the distance she'll blink based on charge time and either keep running cos she's to far, double back, break LoS, etc.

Oooooooooooooon the other hand, you do make a good point that there is no indication of who has DS, who has BT, who has Unbreak-a-bill, is the Key green and you're just being baited by someone good at chase? Do they have spinechill or is it a swf? ...

Killers operate off imprefect information basically every single game. Also i don't think there are stats for this but i'm gues spirit does NOT have something stupid like a 90% winrate. In most completitive games the gap from worst to best is usually in the 45% to 55% win rate.... is that so bad to have an actual "easy" relaxing killer to blow off steam from time to time? Like otz's says in his other video from yday, skillsets you gain off Spirit, Nurse, Hag etc. DO NOT TRANSLATE to most of the rest of the roster. If someone wants to one-trick Spirit, fine? They'll get slapped hard on another killer for a good long while.

  • Mist, Chests, Hook Distance, all go bye bye so we can at least have some nicer (if not cheaper) bloodwebs. Hell i wouldn't mind if moris got removed tomorow, kinda useless since the rework. Might save you a DS once in every 20 games you use a Mori. They use to be a good to quickly get a player out when you knew you were vs a SWF but now not so much.

  • Considering i only play survivor with actual real life friends , not randoms off discord, no. I DO get pissed they're fairly new and all lack BT and considering they're new we tend to get alot of tunneling killers....

  • I mean.... the ball is kinda in bhvr's court right now. Survivor frustration aside twins are also pretty "clunky" to play from the killer PoV.

Like they added that stupid cooldown on SUCCESSFUL pounces and now there's a CLUNK every time you down a lone survivor and are spaming the power button trying to get back into Charlotte asap.

Also doesn't help Victor can't really be recalled once he's out. Like first chase of the game is usually get 1 M1 in, release the baby, down, move Victor to hook, pick up hook, patrol. Problem is once victor is out it takes a freaking minute before you can willingly recall him. So i either leave Victor under hook, kinda HOPING someone would kick him so i can use him in my next chase, or do this really awkward leap frog dance making sure the twins are always in close proximity. Cutting down the time you can recall an idle Victor in would really help with the "camping" playstyle since i can actually use Victor in every chase instead of ... as bait.

Also pro tip - if you ever get a Victor latched on you while Healthy - KIDNAP THE BABY! Like avoid your teammates, cos killer instinct and run to like the oposite side of the map. If you don't remove Victor you denny the twins their power for like 20-25 seconds before Victor can be recalled. It's REALLY infuriating from the killers PoV :P

  • I wouldn't call him my main but GhostFace really needs an addon pass and / or a 5-10 second reduction on his power cooldown.

Pig could use a reduction to crouch / uncrouch speed.

Twins i'd revert the nerf and maybe make MISSED pounces more punishing but right now twins are being both objectively punished for hitting a pounce on Victor and even if there are no survivors nearby to kick there's like an audible CLUNK between downing a survivor and spamming the button trying to get back on Charlotte. Really breaks flow

  • Hmmm this might make me sound like one of "those" gamers but Pig , Wraith and Ghostface are really fun IF you support them with addons. Without addons i'd say Wraith -> Ghostface -> Pig.

I dono if it's the phatom of old design or bhvr actually knows to give weak killers strong addons but stuff like Tampered Timer + Crate of Gears is hillariouslly trolly on pig, even have 2 bear traps pop on ocasion. Wraith with an indoor map addon wallhacks and silent bell might actually make dbd a horror game. Also make your choice wraith with speed addons *chef's kiss*. Ghostface.... well ghostface kinda just needs his two cooldown addons but shrug. Saw somone play a Camera + Infectious Fright build on Ghostface for constant information need to try that.

All that said aside stealth killers are.... in an interesting spot. Against actually GOOD survivors you'll usually get demolished but against survivors who THINK they're good they'll mind game themselves so often it's ... it's some of the most fun you can have in dbd. "Juking" someone on shack and watching them make like 2-3 loops trying to figure out where you are before you put them down is priceless. Also the amount of times survivors think they're being clever by staying at a loop to try and reveal me as Ghostface instead of just getting distance letting me chip some stalk in to an instadown, also lovely.

Also Blight and to some lesser extent Huntress and Demogorgon because they counter hold W meta....

Honestly i wish next update comes with like a "you have no terror radius but move 5% slower" perk. The heartbeat might have been a good idea but now hold W meta is just so frustrating on some killers and some maps really makes you feel like a bot sometimes. When survivors run off to a corner off the map the instant they hear the first beat of your heart / get a glimpse of you is... anoying. Like survivors on Shelter woods and some of the coldwind maps will literally Sprint to a loop, hop one window and then double back running in the bloody open because.... whatch'a gona do? When survivors that could loop you at shack for 2-4 minutes would rather run into a deserted part of the map and thank a hit cos it's more efficient, something's gone wrong.

Pig isn't weak; that's a misconception among a lot of the players. She's not the strongest, that's certain. But she shouldn't be described as "weak", either.

I recommend playing a Killer you have fun with, and don't worry about whether they're "top tier" or not. Previous recommendations of Wraith, Ghostface and Pig all make sense given what you've told us. :)

Nooooooo Pig isn't weak, pig is RANDOM. Roll and dice and she's anything from SSS to F tier. Especially lovely when you you're running timer + crate and people get their traps off on the first box.... maybe an consider an addon pass where the first 1 (green), 2 (purple) boxes allways fail to remove the trap.

Look I'm sure they wanna keep the game how it is. Since you got to understand only around 15% Of the base according to steam stats survivors have reached rank 10, so think about that means 85% of the players are casuals. And for killer that have reached rank 10 it's only 9%. So my point being they wanna keep the game as easy as possible since I'm pretty sure 90% of the player base is mostly survivor. Which is why they probably don't wanna add any slowdown mechanism to the gens, or any new game format. And honestly I don't blame them since most of the player base is casual. And lets be honest unless you are using the weakest killers maybe like trickster, and legion you can do alright without slowdown perks. Most can at least get a 2k with other killers that are midrange which is what I feel is balance. Don't go around expecting 4k in every game. Now for us non casual I guess this may feel like an issue since in red ranks survivors play more efficient than casuals, but for most of the base they don't.

I semi agree with this if matchmaking wasn't a total fustercluck of ... no! Like i wish i could derank and have fun playing killer again and mess around with whatever build cos playing killer at red ranks is just bloody misarable. I tryed a "meme" build without slow down on bubba due to a "kill 10 obsesions" tome (Nemesis, Enduring, Spirit Fury, Bamboozle) and games where basically 5 minutes of chasing followed by 5 minutes of camping (because survivors can't just take a stupidly easy 3 man escape they HAVE to all get away or the sky starts falling.... vs a 1 shot killer) followed by 5 minutes of getting spat on in end-game lobby. Couldn't play it more than 3 games it was that toxic....

According to Steam only 4% of the player base is rank 1, add console wich i think has more players? and that's what ~10%? And even now at red rank it's either - get farmed for 5 minutes by genrusher's or farm some "baby" purple rank survivors. 90% of my 4ks come from overconfident altruism, because i'm not as easily tilted as survivors seem to think killers get and can deal with stuff like flashlights / sabos / bodyblocking. Hell i welcome it, better than chasing for 10 seconds to long and loosing 3 gens over it....

And "Balanced around slow down" perks is abit missleading cos survivors usually arn't bringing any "speed up" perks. That's one of my biggest gripes.... like if i'm forced to bring stuff like Sloppy, Ruin, Pop etc. Survivors should bring stuff like Botany Knowledge.... but no it's just the classic DH UB BT on every single person with a 4th flex slot, some DS, IW, Spinechill and sometimes Prove Thyself or We'll Make It.

Like i can't name a killer confortable NOT bringing Ruin and / or Corrupt and / or Pop. Maaaaaaaybe some snowball killers like Nurse, Spirit or Oni, maybe. But "speed up" perks are 100% optional, a little cherry on top if the survivor is feeling like it wich will push your ######### in hard if you happen to NOT be running slowdown

  • Usually it's hitting a gen, find a survivor, chase, down, pick up, maybe walk PAST a hook then with the survivor on your back keep hitting a gen. I dono how banable it is but it's nice having agency as killer for some Tomes , like the recent "hit two survivors with red puke twice in a trial"....

this, slugging everyone and waiting for them to bleed out is just plain BM but it ain't bannable

Eh, also depends alot on the killer. Twins are (in)famous for this but on the other hand the kit is kinda built for it. You can injure people, slug with Victor, park him near the slug go patrolling with charllote and if some unfortunate soul comes to pick the slug up, slug them too because killer instinct.

Same goes for killers like Oni / Myers. Wana get as much value outa that T3 as possible.

  • @Moundshroud said:

Letting people bleed out is rude, childish and an attempt to grief the PLAYER rather than just score points. It is bad sportsmanship. It isn't, however, against the rules because:

    1. It does not hold the game hostage (as the Mods and others already pointed out).
    2. It is still the same game as far as you are concerned, i.e. don't get caught and pick people up.
    3. It would be impossible to police, because most slugging is not with this intention.

All in all, the defective person that does this is rare. Every once in awhile you run into the twit who picks you up, carries you over by the hatch, drops you and pretends to let you get it only to slam it on your face. You also get the ones that seem to be letting you crawl out but wait till the las second to pick you up. These things are contemptible because they aren't really done with any game goal in mind. It is, as I've already said, evidence of a seriously defective person, the kind that tortures small animals if given the chance. Fortunately they are few and far between.

Most people that slug are doing it for tactical reasons.

I mean..... i've watched people crawl out and picked them up last second but in my case i'm counting to 60 in my head ;)

Also survivors can definetly hold the game hostage, dono about killer... maybe body blocking in the single person gen in Haddonfield / Badham. Had a couple dingbats climb on top of long rock outside the main building in Ormund and tried to stall out. Luckally was playing twins and could kinda clip em if i aimed right if i threw Victor off the balcony.

But if removing health drain when killer is camping, makes the killer move around and GET BETTER AT THE GAME, so they dont need to camp anymore, and if they gonna keep camping 1 survivor 3 can escape.

Also they can add perks to the killer the one i mentioned that ignores the anti health drain for some duration of time

That's such a misconception "get better at the game" look at any Red Rank streamers with 2,3,5k hours in the game and you'll see camping. Technically it's called applying pressure and it's all about noticing if the team has been altruistic or not to that point.

There comes a point when the game is a loss and it's up to you as a killer to make survivors mess up, if you abandon your hook and go chase someone for 30-45 seconds, you're screwed buuuuut if you camp abit get one person to come for the unhook, chase that person, now (on comms usually) they know you're a "camper" and a 3rd person has to come and you can guestimate when you can abandon chase on the 2nd, and go back to the hook, hopefully after also getting a hit on the 2nd now you're chasing person Nr. 3, Nr. 2 "has" to heal, and Nr. 1 is on the hook, Nr. 4 might be finishing a gen or also coming for the unhook and now you've given yourself breathing room and reaaaaaaally slowed down the game.

Low ranks? Sure people camp and tunel but there's not really much you can do about that. They learn eventually after camping for a few ranks, going up hitting purple / red ranks then they loose 5 gens in 5 minutes and 3 people coordonate an unhook. Then they learn it's not allways a good idea.

(also i love the paradox of calling campers noobs then getting downed and camped by said noob)

  • Well personally speaking i've heard how strong nurse / spirit are but don't play them simply due to the absolute bile of humanity you get when playing such killers, and that should speak to their rarity. Did play nurse back in the long long ago circa 2017ish before i had a long break from dbd (due to toxicity reasons) and it CERTAINLY isn't easy to play Nurse.... i imagine it's same with Spirit.

What's the cliche? "Everyone says congrats when you're pregnant but nobody asks how many times you got #########!" .... people hate and discourage players who've poured thousands of hours into a skill ignoring the fact that if you take like a 1k hour trapper vs a team of 1k hour survivors.... well that trapper is in for alot of teabagging....

  • shrug Tunelling is fine, and according to several mods and the FAQ it's perfectly fair way to play. You kinda have to tunel at Red Ranks, it's up to the persons team - mates to protect the dude. 2-3 gens done is when you're looking for your first kill and USUALY that'll be due to tunelling.

Ideally you'd juggle two people and ignore the other two but if someone is unhooked and the unhooker choses to hide while the person on the hook is sprinting away (hence strach marks) well.....

Hell between Unbreak-a-bill, Borrowed Time, DS, We'll make it, Soul Guard, Dead Hard, Sprit Burst, Flashlights and Head On it's kinda on the dude getting tunelled and to an extent his team it can even happen. Cos you play against good survivors, there's no such thing as tunelling.

  • I hardly think it's worth comparing. Spirit is a quintesential anti - loop killer. Wraith is about the hit and run. You slap on the Sloppy Butcher add-on and whatever else you prefer, get hits at gens MAAAAAYBE chase if the gen is in a dead zone, hunt survivors trying to heal back up. Spirit is all about the chase, the last thing Wraith wants to do is chase.

Funnily i'd call him a better Legion of all things.... keep everyone injured at all times, look for 1 hit downs.

PS: Also the WallHack + Silent bell addon on an indoor map is an evil so pure it'd make the entity weep....

  • I mean considering Shroud of Binding and Separation were given to the opposite side they're useful to gives you and idea of how likely spawns are to be fixed :P

  • Hmmm i dono about power level specifically but PH (and Oni) i feel are superbly designed killers that strike a nice balance between killer and survivor skill levels. On PH knowing how to bait people into getting tormented, when to hook , when to cage, when to zone with your power , when to let it go, when to hail marry it through a wall are all great (and you can counter Unbreak-a-Bill and DS, BT to but you'll fairly rarely be camping cages)

  • Rofl, didn't ScottJund prove that the meyer's house with the window on basement side is a literal infinite vs 110 killers?

  • @ALostPuppy said:

The reason why people will say he's 'good in the right hands' is because any killer is good in the right hands. Someone who's good at killer fundamentally will do fine with every killer in the game, the strength of the power is irrelevant. He is worse than every other ranged killer in the game and there is no reason to play the dude, but you can do well with him if you're a good killer player.

Mmmm, Watch Reds Gaming play "endgame trickster" (Monitor, No Way Out, Blood Warden, Noed) and not make it endgame on an essentially perkless killer to see what a good player looks like

  • I mean..... playing red ranks and expecting to NOT get tunneled out of the game is kinda naive. Especially since 1) mods have stated multiple times neither tunelling NOR facecamping are considering against the rules 2) There's at least 3 godlike anti tunelling perks 3) You'll lose pretty much every single game you play as down -> hook -> down -> hook -> down -> hook. Like mathematically it takes longer to get 12 hooks then do 5 gens, considerably longer.

It's actually kinda dumb to rank as killer i need like at least 9 hooks, considerable time in chase, prevent as much healing as possible etc. Like i've had 3k games i've gotten a black pip on. When i play as survivor i do 2-3 gens, get 1 unhook and a prot hit, run the killer for 30-60 seconds and voila, rank up. Like i've interacted with the killer a grant total of 2 / 10-15 minutes and i can rank up.

  • yeah he's .... not all there.

The one "meta" perk on him i'd say is monitor and abuse, when playing survivor (i'm a bad survivor) vs trickster i often find he gets the drop on me due to the insanely small terror radius and that he himself is pretty small. Beyond that the iridiscent that makes survivors exposed is.... interesting. Bumps him up ABIT since alot of times with trickster you'll get close to survivors due to them zig zagging then it's sorta a loose loose, you're close enough to M1 but that resets laceration, with the addon it's win win.

Problem is i really don't know what they'd change on him his kit is sorta fundamentally flawed. 110 ranged killer that STILL takes a long time to down survivors caught in the open. I think he'd either need to have laceration "never" decay, or decay very slowly , something like plague, so you can at least get value by just bothering multiple survivors OR and this miiiiiight actually make him to strong, make it so you don't loose laceration after a hit, so you could at least get survivors within 1 knife of damage, M1 then down them after the speed boost.

Also a QoL buff would be to make Main Event startup way WAY faster. Often times i've found myself low on knives thinking "i can take this chase with main event" but you can't just run out of knives press the button and instantly go into ME, it's a big startup animation and i think you have to like let go of the power button before you can turn it on? it's very clunky. Also to make ME bankable, the current use it or loose it design is... horrible.

  • Would vote too weak and really fun if i could :P

  • And yeah the trend pretty much continued throughout the night (played pyramid head ~10-15 games). The games survivors actually did objectives at best ended up in a 2k , at the endgame, because survivors are altruistic, usually full 4 man escape.

The games i easily won where when survivors did big woopsies. One on dead dawg where a jake went down and shack -> basement hook -> 3 survivors swarming basement, a few back and forths later and got my first kill, no gens were being done cus... duh ended up sweeping up with like 2 gens done. -- flamed for camping, ofc, because when i see 3 people running around shack i'ma wander off like "uuuuuh maibee ter 5th survivor doing a ge_ne_ra_tor!"

And another were they were playing quite well. Like during a hook 1 gen and 1 totem would pop with a 3rd survivor nearby ready to unhook. Stuff like that. All untill 1 perticular hook all 3 of em ran over from a gen they just did, got two downs of that and kinda carried from there. Got 3K and a hatch but had this hillarious moment where i down an unhooker and hit the hooked person (BT) with the same Wave. The person with BT ran into shack and hoped into a locker to bait the pick up, i refuse and she keeps hoping out and back in the locker the instant i'd get close or far.....a few seconds later she died to BT Deep Wounds and i used Final Judgement..... god i laughed

  • First time loading into Midwich and Hawkins (took a break didn't even know such a map existed) was scary. Midwich more than Hawkins, aaaaalot of ambient sounds on those maps. Only once tho. Then the 2nd to ~10th time was just pure confusion, now they're just like any other map.

  • Yeeeeeah bhvr are really cuatious when it comes to killer power levels but here the cooldown doesn't even make sens, literally.

Like it what scenario have you kicked a gen or two or three, found , chased , downed (3 hits on Nem btw <3) a survivor and then within 90 seconds repeat said process. Like if survivors are conga lining your hook you won't just go Kick punch kick punch kick punch... it's so wierd

Perk has great potential i feel tho. You could actually chase a 3 gen now. Just kick the last gen and if survivors try to gank it while you chase well if you get the down reasonably quickly not only has the gen now blown up but everyone touch it can't touch another gen for 10-16 seconds. But it gets better! they can't even use that down time to heal and reset it case they were greeding the gen while injured. The 16 second disable gives you soooooo much wiggle room to hook and pop the gen afterwards.

Love the perk, needs a buff tho.

  • I'm more curious how the you'll get shards in the event. They said you'd get 18k (enough for a character) and that you'd get that 18k even if you joined the event later. Soooooooo do we get like a daily with ~1.2k shards or is there like a bar that fills up and maxes at 18k after like 10 games... skins! *drool*

  • Look, 'future details and reasurances aside" the simple amount of uproar speaking the words "autoban system" out loud in an official capacity should paint you a veeeeeeeery clear picture of how powerless, socially speaking the average killer feels. Nwm the whole tunelling camping etc not being reportable, i've had soooooo many games being called a hacker (specially around rank reset it's fun fun fun) because i either A) have a perk / addon people don't know about or B) Heard grass shuffling....

And i know this will be bad for a very simple reason. I play with a friend when i play survivor who ... how do i put this is a simple creature who while usually mechanically decent never in the 15 odd years i've know him bothers to learn ANYTHING at the macro level. Like the amount of times i have to remind him what BBQ and Chili is because "dude this killer beelined me , he's hacking!" is a very frightening picture of the average survivor community in regards to an autoban system.

  • I mean..... his weapons is a freakin' punch, and he only needs to deliver a single kick to a gen to pop it. I'd say the 'oppresive tyrant' aspect is pretty down. If you were hoping for a rocket launcher in DBD tho..... i dono man

  • @brokedownpalace said:

Do you guys ever stop and think "Ok, maybe what I'm about to say is a bit dramatic, maybe I should take a deep breath first" ?

Look i'm not saying people are abit panicky, but just the level of fright this annoucement has caused should be a biiiiiiiig red flag about how the average killer feels and how toxic (and stupid, because 'everybody wallhakcs') the average swf group is.....

  • ye saw a legion running iron maiden at one point was ... interesting. Juked into a locker he wasted his power but then "wack*. Was a very lightbulb "huh, interesting" moment.

  • hmmmm most underrated as in , better than it has any right to be.... Franklin's Demise. Because predictable greed, it kinda acts like an exposed perk with a delay sometimes. Also ya know... keys.

Shoutout to Zanshin Tactic's tho. Great perk if you have under 2K hours with the game, ESPECIALLY fun on doctor. Same for Windows of Opportunity. I play with a noobier friend when i play survivor (as in we're both noob survivors, he's just noobier than me :P) and i often hear "dude! there's nothing around me, i can't escape the killer" *laughs in windows of opportunity*

  • Hmmmm let me put it this way. Chases can be fun, if short, no other real way to put it. Like if there's a gen inside an LT wall or inside main building maybe something like that, and chase is over, win or loose in like 30ish seconds, due to mistakes made by either side, that's ok.

IF however it's down to 3-4 gens, and those gens are out in the open but BETWEEN 2-3 strong tiles and a survivor SB's away to narnia the second he catches of a wiff of a heartbeat, just so a survivor can run in from the oposite direction to tag the gen, that's fubar.

Like i had a game the other day wich i tunelled a Jane cos key (yes i know it's a bad idea was pretty much goofing around, lost, badly) by the time she was on deathhook, in the final chase this woman pretty much ran around the enitre map with me like we went from her starting gen, around the edge, into shack, into Crotus penn main building, looped outside along the other edge, into a jungle gym and back to the initial gen for the down.

Basically what i'm saying is mindgames fun, Hold W meta baaaaad.

There's also some cough loops (bloody abominations really) that are so stupidly safe i wouldn't call em a chase. Haddonfield basement house comes to mind... also House of Pain on Haddonfield and Badham. Pale rose can be painfull depending on what other little tile is around it, stuff like that. Basially anything with a strong window loop. Cos those are in infinite resource.

I was wondering if it's a good idea to have some boarded up windows around the map that either need a toolbox or just an interactions to quietly remove in 10-15 seconds, it wouldn't make a loud notifications but it'd make like a chest searching sound from up close and survivors can chose to fast / medium vault them but if not cleared before hand they take a health state of damge (or deep wounds, like couldn't down them)

Oh is the matchmaking system out?

If so, then how it will probably work is you get a set amount of points for your current rank on all killers +survivor role. This will then have points added/subtracted depending on how well you do each match. Eventually it'll find out where your meant to be, and you'll only go against/play with similar level survivors/killers.

hmmmm survivor stats i can understand combining but i certainly hope it won't combine killer stats to determine rank, that'll be..... so so bad.

Plenty of killers i don't exactly bring my A game on. Wether i get the wild masochistic urge to practice Nurse in red ranks or goof around on traps only trapper or use some meme build just to do (/farm) for a tome, i'd wager more than half my killers have god awful stats. Then i end up matched with Oni or Pyramid head or Huntress or Deathslinger vs "average" stated survivors and nobody has fun....

  • Pinhead and i'm honestly kinda surprised he isn't in yet, i don't think Alien or Predator would make it, we they're perhaps a little to 'high fantasy" allmost every killer is just a deranjed psychotic human being (xpt demo pupper but every family needs a pet ;) ).

Can also see the Wendigo's from Untill Dawn make an apearance.

Also Josef Heiter just because i'd like to see how they'd dance around THAT mechanically speaking....

S-Tier is reserve for those who literally ignore all tiles. Nurse is the only one who can do that. Spirit is just bullshit since you can't see her. Blight is a Top A but will never be S-Tier. S-Tier is God Tier meaning a good Nurse can NEVER be beat by any means. Blight can still be beaten but not easily.

mmmm debateable in the sens that if Spirit is S so is Blight, definetly. If you only consider Nurse to be S, then yeah

  • I mean .... DS used to work on pick up for about a years. BT used to give endurance to BOTH people for about a year, OoO was unchanged for 4 years.... give it "a bit" before we start to look at numbers that indicate that there is a posibility of a problem existing around key usage.

  • Only if he's killer tittle is "The Camper"!

  • i mean.... i think she's fine, she's just playing a different game, basically. You can counter her... with a brain, and comms, for solo que yeah she's kinda a monster. Best thing you can prolly do in solo que vs hag is sac 1-2 people and gtfo asap if the hag is any decent.

On the other hand i main killer but i very very very very rarelly play Nurse / Spirit / Hag. Not because it's "too easy" but because this community is so toxic i'm scared i'd get banned from all the made up reports / constant harrasing on steam post - game.

  • Slightly off topic but it's sounding like a loadouts page would be nice. Like i can think on allmost all of the killers a having a Ruin / non-ruin / meme's or tome loadout.

  • i meeeeeean it's been 5 years + beta. At this point you know nothing's gona change..

But just to list a few very obvious options, the kinda so obvious you'd have to maliciously NOT want to do it.......

    1. Remove Perk Tier OR make Prestiging increase perk tiers in the bloodweb
    2. Remove useless offerings (did the moonlight bouques ever give a refund? i wasn't playing when they were removed and now i have so many in my inventory on vanilla killers) or just let us sell stuff
    3. Remove / increase BP cap
    4. Increase BP cap / match (i only say increase and not remove because game'd turn into farming simulator)
    5. Reduce the cost of stuff in the Bloodweb i mean we have what, 75 + default perks now and stuff still costs the same as launch. "Inflation: Inflation is the decline of purchasing power of a given currency over time"

Like the level of grind in DBD reminds me of some freemium game that forgot the punch line of actually selling speed ups.... i wonder if it's a french thing. Elbow grease, work makes a man holy and all that....

PS: Don't get me wrong, if you've played for 5 years straight and "just" have to spend the ocasionall ~15M - 30M BP to max out a new DLC that's "Ok" i have no idea what a new player is supposed to do.... i think the retention rates of DBD would make an analyst cry.

If they’re switching to a key with a hatch offering then to me it is.

If they switch last second to a key with an offering .... depending on how disrepectful they act in the first chase that person is getting AT LEAST tunelled, possibly face camped.

The kicking things it's just bad honestly, giving free perk to one side will not fix the game, they just need a form of early game slowdown, but it should be engaging even for survivor (for example they have to collect parts before starting a gen)

mmmmm there was a scrapped "early game collapse" at one point iirc. One.... thematic idea would be none / some of the gens spawn. More will spawn in 2-3 minutes. Around the map there are altars. Survivors can interact with these altars, (very fast interaction, shouldn't be bait for the killer) to shave like 30 seconds of the timer in exchange for some of their blood (they take a health state of damage and are possibly borken for like 30 seconds).

In either case some side objective would be nice.... and while i have literally won a couple games by doing an early patrol... hearing nobody doing gens, going to my totem and getting a quick down on the ruin dude, then patrolling the ruin because now we have one guy going to unhook and a third going for the ruin and i have 1 person on gens for like the first 5 minutes of a game..... that's really unreliable
