Can we talk about the crutch killer build? Corrupt, ruin,pop,tinkerer/bbq. When it works it stalls the game with corrupt. Then you have 2 gen regression perks which ones guaranteed to get value. In a match were this works the killer gets so much leeway the survivors cant come back from. Then throw it on a good killer that already operates fine like blight nurse or spirit its very overkill. Point is both sides have bs perks and builds that need and wil eventually be addressed its not just one side.

Ow i'd bet my remaining nut killers would give up ruin / undying / pop if survivors would run something else as well.....

Hell ... was running some really stupid Coloraphobia / Sloppy / Thana build on Legion to get a Iridiscent Malicious Emblem challenge done and sudently got on a win streak... you bots don't even know what do when playing anti - meta. "wait, we can't heal up under the killers nose then hop on gens? Wait, i've wated all this time looking for totems?! Whelp, i didn't find a totem, ow he kicked that one gen, might as well leave it cos Pop" Like it was a beatiful sight to see 2 people trying to heal a third while i'm chasing the 4th around the hook and the unhooked dude isn't even healed by the time the time the 4th goes down.....

I mean this was one of my matches this weekend. I get these a lot, even when in green ranks. This particular team was a 4 man SWF death squad. They spent the entire match just circling me, taking turns with flashlights, with one guy off to the side healing them as they swapped in an out of crowding around me. This match was just a nightmare and not fun in any way at all and was just a literal waste of my time. And actually funny thing is I was lvl 9 at the start of this match too, so I have no idea how the hell I even pipped when only I got 1 kill at the end, as a pity kill.

uhm can that be a swf? there's 3 crossplay.

Also dono if you usually pack franklin's but yeah, a 3 flashlight lobby, just swap it in. Survivors tend to be lemmings over their dropped items. Even if they recover them safely you're wasting about as much time with it as a totem cleanse. Also slugging nobody was running unbreak-a-bill. Also hillarious when you're playing some kind of ranged killer versus those clickers.... or someone that can break pallets fast ala billy, bubba or demopupper.

  • I've had the "dissapearing survivor" thing happen i'd say... ~4 times in the last 3 weeks. Not from a down like i'll chase someone and the dude will simply disapear from in front of my eyes, chase music stops, everything, dono if he's just laggy and i'm chasing "were the server says he is but the client isn't" or if people straight up hacking on those.

Had one REALLY bizzare .... bug? yday. Loaded Deathslinger into Coldwind, found a random dude early, downed asap, like ~30-45 seconds, he rage quit and THEN the game kicked everyone out "error: a player disconected during the loading screen", or something like that. But the dude wasn't afk he was moving in the open then ran to and tryed to do a jungle gym. First time i've seen that.

If a 115% M1 killer is a perfectly average B tier killer, how do we have killers like Trapper, Pig, and Clown in D? A base M1 killer would be F tier.

Because Trapper and Pig suffer from bad RNG issues. And clown i wouldn't consider D tier, on a A to D tier list only pig and trapper would be D with clown at the back of C.

Speaking of Pig tho i wish she'd get the Wraith treatment... if it's to oppresive to make reverse bear traps actually worth a damn.... cool, but a buff to her stealth would be nice in return... it's really stupid rn can't even mind game with the thing, like the pounce give of the deafeaning roar and the (slow) stand up let's off an audible shing.

  • Eeeeeeeh i mean it is kinda objectively "worth" it with the whole higher rarity and stuff. Personally i don't ever wear most of the bloody cosmetics i find it makes people alot saltier. From a min / max kinda thing also depends what killer we're talking about since some poor(ly designed?) killers have their best stuff in lower rarity's you might be hurting yourself.

As i side note i hate it's 3 ranks all that really does is add an ~3M - 4M BP Tax on maxxing a character because you belong in Crotus Penn if you're gona spend the ~10-12M BP to max a character.... 4 times.....

  • Like 50 back in 2017ish and another ~100 recently getting back into it. Only 20 of those are auric cells tho, rest on all the dlc, this is the first Rift thingy i've seen.

  • Mhm, either Offer some small map run like Agitation / Iron Grasp (ah nostalgia) and go for basement every time, camp the hook, or just be a friendly killer one game..... figure the latter works out better for everyone.

I mean it's sorta "fine" at least you have agency with killer, i remember the Heroic... something Challange on survivor side (pick yourself or another downed survivor up, twice, in the same game).... good luck finding a killer willing to slug at my baby survivor rank.

  • mmmmm unfortunately the current meta really isn't helping your perk setup. People can troll and call em clutch but you kinda NEED Undying / Ruin or at least Pop Goes the Weasel. Gens go by sooooo fast even baby survivors who're to scared to "come help" will do alot of damage by just hugging a gen and not getting involved.

I can see how the click baiting can be tilting, i do, but you have to keep in mind ONE person chasing you around with a flashlight is .... great you're playing 3v1, having MULTIPLE people chasing you around is just... christmas. After a while the sound of flashlights clicking fills you with joy instead of anger. Worse possible case is they are a swf and the clicker follows you around as you're patrolling and warns people but this can often backfire. A survivor preemptively letting go of a gen adds up to a good 30 - 60 seconds of lost progress over the course of a match vs oblivious people letting go at the last second. Also the flashlight people tend to be... suicidally altruistic.

If a flashlighter is trying to protect someone, and you manage to down one person and got a protection hit on the dude with the flashlight, FAKE the pickup on the down survivor. Just walk over his corpse and stand still for a second or two with your back to the flashlight. 9 / 10 time the INJURED dude with the flashlight instead of gaining distance will turn back and try to get in front of you to blind you while your locked in the animation..... wack him. Or just turn around if he has 2 brain cells instead of 1 and is waiting nearby to see what you do.

Killer is largely about macro play tbh, not the micro (chaseing). Something i screw up often myself and i'm trying to work is that i'll find a gen being done, see a survivor is heading to a strong loop and just go "ah, i won't chase that, ill get him later", a few "i'll get him later" ... later and i'm at a fairly strong 3gen, with 4 survivors alive (that's another thing, know that some gens are perfectly ok to give up on, you want your last 3 gens to be as close together as possible, if you keep bouncing between far away gens you'll be in a situation where it's impossible to defend the last gen due to sheer distance) that i WILL inevitably loose after 15 - 20 minutes of playing wack'a'mole because unless you're playing a killer with one shot potential or survivor screws up royally like smacking into a wall after a hit, you can't hold a 3gen against 4 people.

If you find someone early as a GENERAL rule of thumb i'd say it's ok to chase untill 2 gens have poped wether that takes 90 seconds or 2-3 minutes. If you get a down in that time, great if not, it's not horrible assuming you've broken a good number of pallets around key spots like main building / shack. Find a GOOD hook if you can (this is also something killers ignore, they get a down and just hold W to the first hook they see, have a hook in a good spot like the center of the map or near a gen, is important) and now the balls in your court, IDEALLY you'll want to find a survivor, start a chase will the 3rd survivors goes to rescue. Now you have 3 people off gens. Look at the UI if 20-30 seconds have passed after the unhook and the person is still injured, break the chase, they've gone to pop a gen. If you see the hook person change heal, great, you have a little more time to chase, they've wasted time healing. Now it's a matter of rinse and repeat.

  • Both Legion and Plague.

Pig i'd say two but pig isn't so much underatted as... "bad luck" magnet.

  • Im honestly wondering if the person who made this mains surv , killer or plays both because there's maybe 2 killers that belong on the poll :P

It's actually funny people think Legion and Plague are weak because they're "just" M1 killers (btw a 115% M1 Killer is like a perfectly average like B tier killer) and then put Clown in the same poll , an anti - loop killer.

I'd say Trapper simply because Pig and Trapper and both kinda rng based, but at least with pig you're RNG kicks in at the end of a successful chase so you're doing two things at once.

  • Ye release legion left a bad taste in everyone's mouth i think but current legion is pretty much around the level of Plague. I guess that depends if you think plague is fairly strong or fairly weak but conceptually they work very similar: Get everyone injured and then you're a M1 killer with perma pseudo - exposed. Legion can get the ball rolling faster but there's less consequences for surviors healing. Plague gets a stupid powerup if survivors cleanse buuuuuut depending on the map you can loose a good 1 - 2 gens worth across the game JUST by walking to and from pools to power up.

Also i think they're both quite FUN to play, wich is big alot of the mid tier killers are among my favorite. If the only thing that mattered was power every lobby would be spirit / nurse.

  • Honestly i wish stuff like Distraction, Red Herring, Dance with Me, Lucky break etc where meta. The current survivor meta is basically 4 extra health states - "i got greedy popping a gen? SB / DH away, cought? DS, Slugged to counter DS? Unbreak-a-Bill, my lemming of a teammate went down? BT"

I wish there were more perks to be used to evade chase / during chase in general instead of AFTER a succefull chase. Or more info perks for stealth gameplay.

  • Yup yup, had a game yday on swamp where i saw a Feng pretty early, got a quick hit. She ran into the center of the map and was trying to do some big brain pinballing..... instead just slid of a boat and actually cut the Feng that was holding W off resulting a quick down like a minute or two into the match. Needless to say the Feng DCed. They still Won basically 2v1 because steam boat op but it was a very fun game, on survivor side to at the end, good chase practice and i had a "chase survivors for 240 seconds" tome i did.... many times over =))

  • I have to say while i don't think plague is weak i LOVE the idea some people have suggested of making her pools map wide. Because there's this "funny" little situation where survivors can rotate between tapping a gen and running to the dark side of NARNIA to cleanse and now you're screwed. They're healthy, it'll take either two M1s or a purge + M1 out in the open, and then you're playing a loosing game of puke'a'mole.

Having either ALL pools light up red when and a charge counter on your power, or chaneling cross map are great ideas imo.

  • Question since i havn't played since the whole rift ... battlepass thing got added, how much insanely more do you have to play if you only do one side? Like my ~1000 hours worth so far i've played allmost exclusively killer, not looking forward to doing the solo survivor side but do you have to play like 8 hours a day if you only go for one side of it?

  • Funny thing how the most hated killers are all 110 speed or worse sucks when you can't loop a shack for 5 mins huh? :P

Can't speak about Spirit, havn't played her personally yet and i played pretty much only killer unless i need to do something in the tome but... no counterplay? Nurse use to have "no counterplay" but she's damn hard to play without practice

  • mmm, either indeed tie unlocks to player level (maybe pick something out of 3 - 4 choice every level to have "permantized") or make a system where you can pay between say..... 100k and straight up 1M BP based on rarity to have an addon of your choice infinite and / or say pay.... 500k to have a perk allready owned on 1 killer / surv, tought on another killer survivor.

The one reason i'd see this as bad is you'd have like 4x BNP / 2x BNP 1x Odd Bulb 1x Iridiscent key every game buuuuuuut i dono, if the killers allways have acces to stuff like Ruin, Undying, Startruck, Opression etc. might be balanced.

  • It is, and besides the grind ITSSELF shooing people away, there's the price tag of so many different dlcs (and teachables) and beyond that there's RNG on top.

It also heavily skews the discussion of balance; alot killers at least jump up several power tiers with specific addons. Like Pig is considered pretty bad but run Tampered Timer and Crate of Gears and at least she's super fun (and kinda powerful, rngsus willing). Also Amanda's letter is that special kinda mirror Mayers fun.

Like you can be at the point were you juggle BP's between two - three killers, never go into a match without the strongest possible addons and sudently you're way harder to "bully" (also invalidating 99% of yellow and brown addons). Plague is a supper strong killer if you her and another 4 dlc's worth of perks and run every game with Ashes .... if not well "survivor meta!!!"

I wish there was a meta level thing where you could lock in loadout slots ala custom game tbh.
