He is fun to play, strong and not as difficult to use as other Killers which have a higher power level. E.g. Blight is also really fun and even stronger, but harder to use. Nurse is easier to use (once you get used to her) and also stronger, but not that much fun since she becomes kinda dull after a while.
And other Killers which are as simple as Wesker or even more simple might be fun, but are not that strong.
Basically he hits some checkboxes in the right places to make him that popular.
-
Not that often. I think there are two reasons for it, one minor and one major:
The minor reason:
Singularity does not have good Perks. So people dont really level them (and dont play them to level them).
The major reason:
Singularity is too complicated for its Power Level. Singularity is not a weak Killer, far from it. Clearly well above average. However, they are also quite complicated and demanding to play. And this type of Killer with the fact that there are stronger Killers who are either easier to play or more fun to play results in that Killer not being played often.
Like, if you want to win, you can just play Nurse. And you wont have to care about that much during the game, once you learned her she is a lot more simple to play than Singularity. Or you can play Wesker, who is more demanding than Nurse, but not more demanding than Singularity AND more fun to play AND stronger overall.
So if you want results, you will not use Singularity because you can get better results easier with other Killers (and, to repeat - this does not mean that Singularity is weak).

Honestly pretty neat. I wonder if there's a survivor version of this with solo/duo/full swf too.
You cannot really compare Survivor Escape Streaks with Killer Streaks.
The really big Survivor Escape Streaks are one single Survivor escaping all the time while playing in a 4 man SWF where the other 3 people will die for that one person getting out. On Top of that, the biggest streaks like this were done before the Key and Hatch-changes.

I feel like every killer player have said this at least once before realizing how high of a skill floor Nurse has. Your not just gonna lose those first bunch of matches. You might not even get a hook/hit. If you have a 20 game lose streak, I feel like you might be struggling with some of the basic parts of killer gameplay that swapping to Nurse isn't going to fix. How much time do you spend LOOKING for survivors? Roughly how many hooks do you get and how many chases do you start? How often do you drop chase with a survivor to go pressure somewhere else?
The difficulty of Nurse is really overexaggerated.
Yes, you will lose some games as her. Yes, you will feel really stupid while losing those games. But you wont need 20 games or someting like that to learn her to a Level that you can beat the majority of Survivors.
And once you learned her, you realize that she is pretty dull to play.

trapper? sadako? trickster? doctor? do u even play the game??
Aside from Trapper, all Killers are decent. Sadako even gets buffed a bit with the next Midchapter (granted, nerfing her strongest playstyle, but overall increasing her powerlevel). Trickster and Doctor are not weak at all, but they require some practice.
And well, how would YOU buff those Killers? With keeping their design in mind? I always see "Buff Killers!", but nobody even bothers to think how to buff them (because it is not easy to do...).

Where we go is that the average players skill is that of a 12 year old. So trying to gage a perks strength from those bad players just wont work. And the good teams that do have mft and still get 4 outted usually make tons of mistakes that the killer can captilize on. If people REALLY wanted to escape in a swf they would get consistent 2k's at the least.
This reaching and stretching when it comes to SWF is not even funny anymore.
Now we have people who win consistently against SWFs and the reason is...the SWFs dont want to win. Yeah. Cool.
-
Yep, this is what Blight needs. Another Buff.
-
Highly doubt it was only Made for This. It is more likely that it is Made for This + Hope and with that Combination, Hope is doing the heavy lifting and would probably have been enough on its own.

It is not normal, seems like you got horrible RNG.

I guess that you didn't read my entire post, because it was too long. So sad.
I read it. That you felt bad does not change the fact that some players are just playing to make the game miserable for the other side. Especially during the Anniversary Event.

Must be a killer, who had a couple of exceedingly bad games and/or was severely BMed during that match.
In your case, it seems more like the former and not that you did anything wrong. Carrying a grudge from one game over to the next will always hurt innocent people at best, and stoking the fires of the vicious circle at best.
I did so a couple of times myself, in order to get back at extremely toxic survivors... until one game I slugged that Nancy that did nothing wrong and I just got carried away, jumping at shadows and projecting. I felt extremely bad about it and decided, to give future players the benefit of the doubt.
Ah, the old argument. Killers are fluffy little beans and it is impossible that they can be dicks as well. Must have been a group of toxic Survivors in the previous match.

I dunno but they were all friends on steam, one of them had his friendlist public.
They might not have been on Comms. But since most people think that Comms are the reason SWF is strong, it should not matter that they were SWF when not on Comms, eh?

https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3477367#Comment_3477367
Second, since when was Lithe and Windows of Opportunity not meta?
Third, you do realize that people can go past their limit of miserable games and then post about it, right...?
And last but not least make sure to read replies in a thread so I don't have to answer questions like the first one.
Yes Sir! But nope, will not do that. OP is one of those "It is everyones fault except for mine when I lose"-players. So I dont really bother reading more than the OP since the rest is most likely also just blabbering to defend why they were not the reason why they lost.
And nah, the Builds look more off-meta than Meta tbh. Especially IF they use Perks like Bond and Alert while still being in an SWF.
OR they were most likely not on Comms. But since the majority here says that Comms are the main issue, it should be irrelevant if they are SWF but not on Comms, eh?
-
First of all, how do you know they are SWF? I see two Bonds, which will most likely mean that they were at least not a 4 man-SWF.
Second, they were pretty off-meta in their Builds.
Third, I HIGHLY doubt that all of your games are like this. Posting a screenshot once and claiming that all look like this does not prove anything.
And last but not least...Not even a Terrormisu or BPS or anything. Tsss.

Yeah right, why they dont keep nerfing only killer? How dare they touch at prove thyself that has been used since year one being broken and make it still good. Wow so killer sided
Ok, just to ask you - why do you think that Prove Thyself is broken? The Perk is basically bad for Survivors. It is mainly used for the BP, I guarantee you the usage of Prove Thyself will drop to nearly 0 once they remove the BP.
-
As others have said, pretty standard. It also ensures that BHVR does not have to give money back in case the game will be discontinued. Otherwise you would have thousands or people who would try to get their money back they paid for cosmetics or characters.
And, as a less extreme example, it also ensures that BHVR can change content they made. Because from time to time people end up on the forums complaining that their favorite cosmetic got changed or that a Perk got nerfed and they only bought the chapter for that one Perk. Having it clarified like this allows BHVR to change things (or remove them) without the fear of getting into a lawsuit.
-
"Big map."
It is smaller than Coal Tower...
-
I hope this wont happen. And I also hope that they never introduce gameplay aspects like this ever again. Especially the Killer abilities feel very cheap (on top of being stronger). At unsafe Pallets, if the Killer refuses to break it, you would at least waste some time as Survivor because the Killer has to reach Bloodlust 1. With the event-ability they can just break the Pallet without losing distance at all.
And the exposed feels the cheapest, if you are in a deadzone the Killer can just follow you for a few seconds to get an Instadown.
I really dont want to see stuff like that after this event. And during events, they hopefully do not repeat it again.
-
As long as Slowdown-Perks are the easiest Perks to use, this will not change. It is just the fact that Killers can replace a lot of skill needed (as if there is much in DBD anyway) by just dragging out the match as long as possible.

I believe this is the case. I was watching Otz's stream a while ago and someone with OTR didn't give the aura when the invitation's expose-effect was ready to use. It seems that counts as an aura-read and so Distortion or OTR effects it.
Yeah, this is 100% the case. The Devs tend to re-use things when they add new things (e.g. Knights guards which were basically like Spirits phasing, which resulted in Knight being able to grab Survivors from Gens when making a path).
They probably just used the Aura to highlight that the Exposed-ability is available without considering Perks which affect Auras.
-
I would not call DBD a full Horrorgame anyway.
However, when it comes to voicelines... Yeah, they are overdoing it. At least if they dont add an option to disable them. If they add this option, they can make their characters as talkative as they want.

Yeah, can't have Killers get an advantage by outplaying the poor Survivors.
You did not outplay the Survivors when you have 4 alive after all Gens are done, lol.
-
"So then after we reach this point where Survivors can finaly have more peacefull games, then we will have to buff all killers again to keep up."
Basically this. And this is fine.
BHVR tried the other way (buffing Killers or nerfing Survivors), but it did not reduce camping and tunneling, it probably even buffed it.
-
It all depends on how she is played. If the Artist-player is going for more long-ranged Snipes, she is fun to play and fun to verse. But the majority dont play her like that.
Most of the time it is "Place a crow at a Loop to force the Survivor to leave"... And that on repeat. The only counter the Survivor has is to shift W, which is boring for both sides. While it is effective to use her Crows like this it is boring over time, because you dont really outplay the Survivor, you just catch up at some point because you are faster than them.
I think if more players would go for more long-ranged Snipes, she would be more fun to play for Artist-players and also more fun to verse. But on the other hand, players who play her mainly for her Anti-Loop cannot be blamed, it is BHVRs fault to create such a design.

Where is the fun actually in stomping or being stomped ?
Wow, more i come here m ore i'm amazed by the mindset of ppl i meet 😂
This has more to do with bad matchmaking (especially because you can have those games back to back) than anything else. It has nothing to do with Perks or Gen Speeds.

To be fair, this could be part of BHVRs change when it comes to which characters get cosmetics. Jonah is very unpopular, but is getting more cosmetics recently. Same with Haddie, which even got announced by BHVR. So it can be the same thing, just because they only mentioned Haddie does not mean that she is the only one getting more Cosmetics.
@Topic:
DId someone check if this is even an outlier? If I am not mistaken, even before knowing that he is gay, David was not as popular as other Survivors when it comes to Skins.

Thats impressive, even killer streamers with thousands of hours in the game suggest that killers tunnel 1 survivor out of the game asap.
While this is true, those Killer Streamers also have high Killrates. I remember some time ago (this was way before SBMM was a thing, but also when the game was harder for Killer) someone took their time to look at the games of Streamers to see how many Kills they get.
I think it was tru3, OhTofu and Otz and all of them got at least 3 Kills on average. So it should not be ruled out that non-Streamers also get those numbers.

Moreover how can you explain that yesterday i have lost or draw every matches withotu going down in MMR ? Are not all trials supposed to be balanced ? So why do i get survivors that completely destroy me ?
Waiting for a smart answer cause your sarcasms are fun 10 seconds, but you still do not explain anything.
Nope, not all Trials are supposed to be balanced. It is the overall statistics which count. If all Trials were balanced you would get 2K/2E as the most common result, which is not the case. Most Trials are either 4Ks or 4Es. But overall it should balance out.
Also, I never claimed that I win 80% of my games. Just that I dont lose 90% because I am not tunneling. Furthermore, tunneling when the Killer actually needs it is nothing the majority complains about. People complain about tunneling at 5 Gens when the Killer is not really required to do it.
And last but not least - I usually dont bother to explain things when people dont want solutions. You probably never had the thought "Hm... Maybe I did not play THAT well", but blamed other things because you lost. And it this point it would be a waste of time to "explain" stuff.
From what I have seen, players who genuinely ask for help (both sides) get a lot of good feedback in this forum.

Analysis Of An "Impossible" Game - YouTube
Just a video here, he did some mistakes but still, he plays Blight, one of the best player and he is not bad with it and yet he cannot win the game cause he lost 30 seconds overall with his mistakes.
Now take an A tier killer or lower instead and add the MFT + resilience combo, there is no way you can win against this team.
And guess what, when there is 100% bp bonus on the killer side, if you play killer you will be thrown in trials against those teams, over and over again cause the SBMM system will favor queue times over quality for the matchmaking.
Also, a thread on reddit that is less biased than players here that either play low MMR or are just survivor mains saying they have no problem playing killer :
Winning as a tier-A or lower killer is possible only against average survivors. Against trioQ/SWFs, it is nearly impossible now, gens are flying way too fast.
Its so ironic that you blame everything but yourself for your losses (here: Genspeeds, Survivor Perks) and then link a video of a player who analyzes their own mistakes.

You can compare it to Pigs Traps.
pig box have 12 searches and with crate of gears & bag of gears, each search takes 19.67 seconds. let us just round it to 20 seconds. 20x12 = 120 seconds. that is not even accounting the time that survivor take to run to each box. let's just say total time to remove reverse bear trap is 1 minute and 30 seconds. that is equivalency of being incapacitated for at least 90 seconds. people talk about how eruption was 25 second incapacitated and how that was unfun and too strong. these traps are legit x3 value when active.
How you can compare this amount of amount of unconditional 0 time waste slowdown for the pig to less then 3 second to take out a tape followed by running to another TV as one-time walking distance? As soon as you finish tape, there is usually generator nearby to work on. No way is the slowdown comparable. tapes are survival, not slowdown.
You will far more often take a tape and bring it to another PC. While the Slowdown is shorter compared to Pigs Traps (which is logical, since she only has 4), it will happen more frequently.
In general, we will see how it plays out when it hits live (not counting the PTB, because PTB is not really meaningful when it comes to testing).

She is complete garbage now and will never get to use her power once again against a coordinated team.
Condemned Kills should not be a guaranteed or common thing. With the changes the aim is to make it a threat which rarely happens, if you take your time to remove it. So it is more a bit of built-in Slowdown.
You can compare it to Pigs Traps. A Headpop should be rare, the main reason is the Slowdown provided. Condemned is the same.

I cannot really understand how someone can have this opinion (or, given the likes, 4 people can have this opinion).
Sure, on Paper they do the same (granting distance). However, it is nowhere near as strong as old DH. People cannot really think this.

@CrowVortex said:
By itself it's not much of an issue, The issue is when it stacks with other haste effects i find.
Yeah, having 110% Movement Speed in Endgame is too much. But this is more due to Hope than Made for This and you were already quite hard to catch during Endgame with Hope before Made for This was released.
Other Haste-Perks are too specific IMO to be called problematic. Yes, you have stuff like Bloodpact, but this requires two Survivors to run with each other all the time. And the Killer can negate this by going after the other two.
-
@Nazzzak said:
It's nice but won't stop much except the hook dance around. Killer will still intercept incoming survivor, get a hit before the unhook, and one after the unhook. If they intercept the survivor at a decent distance then the survivor will have to either abort the unhook or potentially go down trying. I rarely see hook grabs in my games, mostly it plays out with the dance around then a hook trade.
It is fine that Killers will get a trade against single or uncoordinated Survivors. It will at least not be an advantage like before where you had one Survivor still on the hook and the other in the Dying State.

It is not happening to players that tunnel, play without tunneling and you will loose 90% of your trials.
This isnt true. I win games without tunneling. I also go against plenty of Killers who win without tunneling. So either they get the 10% they win in my games (which would be a huge coincidence) or playing Killer is not as bad as you claim it to be.

Spirit released in 2018 and has had busted addons ever since she was released. Here we hare nearly 5 years later and she's finally getting some reductions so that her addons are just "really good" instead "completely insane"
Given that's how long it took for spirit blight will probably have addons that "really good" instead of "completely insane" in 2025
Even nurse had a similar time frame, released late 2016 and had completly insane addons all hte way up until January of this year so it took them about 6 years to do it for her
edit: moral of the story is that top tiers get to hold their place for 5 years before they get their insane addons nerfed
While it is true that it took some while with Spirit as well, she at least got some Nerfs at some point. The only thing Blight got was buffs. I remember the time where BHVR did a huge Add On-Pass for Killers (which was around the time Mikaela was released) and Blight was mentioned on the list of Killers getting changes. Everyone was running Alchemist Ring because Blight-players know how busted it is. Turns out the only change for Blight was that they buffed his worst Add On (Adrenaline Vial) to one of his best Add Ons.
Meanwhile, they nerfed Clown in the same patch. And many other Killer Add Ons.
So while it is true that it took time to nerf busted Spirit Add Ons (MDR should have never survived her first nerf), she at least got SOME nerfs, unlike Blights Add Ons.

I dont know if it is a region thing but i barely see it these days, most people i know switched back to sprint or lithe unless they are like doing some no mither challenge.
Because the majority of Survivors ran Exhaustion-Perks before and do get more value out of Sprint Burst or Lithe compared to Made for This.
IMO there are only two types of people who would run Made for This:
- REALLY good Loopers, basically people most players wont really encounter in their games
- People who just did not run an Exhaustion-Perk before and use Made for This now
Other people tried MFT because it was new or because Content Creators jumped on the "OP-Train" and called it OP, comparing it with some of the most broken things in this game (like OP did in one Thread with old DS, old MoM, Omega Blink-Nurse, old Spirit and other things).

Yes, at top tier, they seem overpowering, but they do not make blight good. I’ve seen alch ring c33 blights get no hooks in a game.
I really doubt that. They nerfed Nurse, after all (even if they did not do it effectively). And she has the lowest Killrate and was probably not overperforming overall because players who pick her up really struggle with her.
There is really no logical explanation why Blight gets to have so many strong Add Ons and is allowed to keep them all.

@bookie said:
Yesterday I think it was a hour matchmaking ban but today it was 24 hours even though I crashed once today this must be a bug. And I wanna keep playing because guess what? There is a limited time event and a tome which I paid for.
Bans get lower over time. If you DC one time each day you will always have the same timer. If you dont DC for a certain amount of time, you will have a lower timer over time.
If you have one DC and are at 15 minutes to 6 hours every time you are DCing VERY frequently. And you should really fix this issue before playing this game.
Because even if you think you are entitled because "you paid for" the game (which is a really bad attitude to have btw.), the other 4 players in your game paid as well and deserve to have a complete game with all players in it, which they apparently dont get with you around.
-
We dont do Blight Add On Nerfs here.
-
I would assume. The teaser said 5th of July. They did not say a PTB will happen tomorrow (only later this week), but it would make sense to bring a PTB with Nicolas Cage tomorrow.
(Had to edit this two times because I confused myself)
-
First of all, you dont crash and suddenly have a 24 hour ban. It starts with 1 minute, goes up to 5, 15 and then I dont even know how much. So you probably crashed at least 5 times.
But yeah, it is correct that there is a penalty and that you get it. If you dont play with a stable connection or dont manage to run the game stable, you should not play it. The other 4 players dont care if you DC because you ragequit or because you crashed, their game is ruined (or over if you were the Killer).
Try to fix the issue before trying to connect and end up just crashing all the time.
-
Sadly many threads here just scream that the issue is indeed a skill issue and not an issue with the game.
-
Because Condemned should be gained more "naturally" on all Survivors instead of bringing it to one Survivor and get them out of the game as fast as possible. So they removed the Range Requirement, but on the other hand they increased the Cooldown to not make it too oppressive.
And IMO this is the right thing to do. Killing Survivors instantly by condemming them should be a rare thing, Condemned should provide some Slowdown (which is does with those changes, because even if you dont have to go to a specific TV, you will still waste time delivering the Tape) and not a somewhat reliable Insta-Kill method (like you gained with the Condemned-Strat). Basically similar to Pigs Headtraps - a threat, but not a very likely death.

Sloppy needs one nerf. It's destroying perks like Resurgence. I wish they would change this part and i'd be okey.
Now that you write it, I have to correct my statement (that no Killer Perk currently needs a Nerf). Because I would agree on that. Or, to be more precise - I dont think that one single Perk (or Add On) should cause both Mangled AND Hemorrhage. It should be either slower healing OR heal regression, not both at the same time (with one Perk/Add On).
-
The thing is, the Killer Terror Radius indicator was only a bandaid until the visual Terror Radius was introduced. Since this is now in the game, the indicator gets removed from Spine Chill.
-
I dont really think that any Killer Perk really needs to get nerfed currently. And only because one side gets a Nerf does not mean that the other side needs a Nerf as well.
(But I also dont think that Prove Thyself needed to be nerfed, especially not the BP-gain)
-
Not really. With 4m you were close enough to lunge at them with her. With 3m it is a bit harder to find the Survivor.
However, the nerf is not enough. They should have reworked the Add On competely, there should not be a way to get the exact location of a Survivor for a Spirit-player. From my experience (and I am not the best Spirit Player, not even close) you dont even need Dried Cherry Blossoms to get hits.
So a nerf for this Add On is justified, but removing 1m is not really it.
-
It doesnt. They know that Smash Hit is bad but they cannot really fix it when it requires a Pallet Stun to be active. So they reduced the Exhaustion-Time. This does not change the fact that Killers can just respect Pallets or that some Killers are less likely to get stunned to begin with, making Smash Hit even weaker against those.
-

And? I know Killers have the weird mentality that they deserve a pity Kill in Endgame. But most likely camping Killers will still get a Trade, unless the Survivors are organized AND all of them are alive. And if the Killer did not manage to kill one single Survivor during the Trial, the Survivors can also deserve to escape.
