  • Nah. OP is stronger than overtuned. Overtuned is basically "a bit too strong" while OP is "way too strong".

  • But what will be your scapegoat then if you are still losing games?

  • Seems like someone is trying to camp and tunnel but fails doing so due to Endurance.

Yeah, I just looked it up. Apparently there's a bug with Nurse that gives her 133% movement speed.

This explains it why I got downed so quickly by a Backpack-Nurse yesterday. I figured out that she had Agitation, but she was way too fast.

I just "love" when people abuse Bugs...

How about we nerf a problematic killer not an entire strat. What do you wan the killer to do at this point? Tunneling is bad, slugging is bad and now 3gen is bad. I'm not even being sarcastic, what tf do you want the killer to do?

SM is the problem, not the 3gen strat, nerf the fk out of SM or better yet just delete her.

I mean, all 3 are not liked, however, 2 out of 3 are not considered as "holding the game hostage". So you can tunnel and slug just fine.

And as if Killers ever cared about what Survivors liked or disliked or vice-versa.

Twins and Billy don’t really need buffs though, they just need to be less clunky and less frustrating to play.

They are on the list of BHVR tho.

I've had a SM pick the map, not move from the three gens next to each other and not commit to a chase. It's kinda hard in solo to not 3 gen when that happens. They either need to spread out the gens or do something about her.

In this case it doesnt even matter if you 3-Gen yourself or not. You can ignore the other 4 Gens on the Map, you can complete them or 99 all of them. As long as the Skull Merchant is not moving away from their 3-Gen, you cannot win.

  • Trickster does not really need Buffs.

At the very least he does not need Buffs right now, there are other Killers which need them more. E.g. they talked about Twins getting some love in early 2024, Myers is the pinnacle of outdated, they talked about revisiting Billy, they need to look at Skull Merchant, they probably need to revisit Sadako.

All of those are more urgent. At least when you ask someone which Killer is bad, Trickster would probably not be a common answer.

  • @Xendritch said:

Is there where we pretend killers haven't been 3 genning since 2018?

While this is true, it became more prominent. I think because of two factors:

    • First Knight and then Skull Merchant using 3-Gens made it clear that other Killers can also capitalize on this. As OP has written, not as efficient as Skull Merchant, but in general it can be quite easy to defend a 3-Gen from the start.
    • Second the Maps... More 3-Gens are spawning, especially on reworked Maps. e.g. there was this strong 3-Gen on Haddonfield where you had the Gen right outside the Myers House, the Gen inside the Myers House (lower floor) AND a Gen either on the street in front of it or in the small park next to it. This is basically free for the Killer. And even Maps which were not reworked can spawn some disgusting Setups. E.g. I went against a Deathslinger lately on Suffocation Pit who had 5 Gens on one side. When you cut a Map in half like that it is clear that the Killer will win by default.

So yeah, it happened way earlier, but IMO back in the day it was more the Survivors messing up and less the Killer protecting a 3-Gen right from the start. Nowadays most 3-Gens are Killers who just dont leave the 3-Gen.

  • I dont even get why they thought that they need to rework Rancid Abattoir in the first place. Cowshed, completely agree. And it looks fine from what I have seen so far.

But Rancid Abattoir was quite balanced as a farm Map. They should have reworked Rotten Fields instead.

Probably would have been the most fair outcome and best suggestion Ive seen.

Again, I do think this rule should be looked at and changed to prevent future stuff like this happening, but otherwise, very solid idea.

Yeah, it would still follow the rule (even if it is just stupid in this regard), but would prevent the opposing team from gaining an advantage because they are salty about losing. (Would be a different matter if they reported it from the start, reporting it after they lost to gain an advantage is simply unsportsmanlike)

The rule itself should be changed. It makes 100% sense for Perks and Killers, but not really for Survivors.

  • I dont really care about Tournament Play or the Community Cups, but when it comes to Survivors (not their Perks), this rule does not really make sense. They are Skins, after all.

However, what really makes the whole thing laughable is that the Killer of the opposing team only reported them after they lost. Which means they dont really care about the rules but about their own benefit.

IMO it would have been fairer to DQ Eternal, but still give them the Win.

  • Yeah, this is the usual way how this challenges are designed. Killer-Challenges are mostly "play the game" while Survivor-Challenges require things to do which are not the main Objective.

But even with this Formula, the Challenge is quite tough for a Level 1-Challenge. I got it in my first game, but I think mainly because the Killer was camping and I was able to crouch nearby. Still, I waited a lot of time doing nothing and 120 seconds in one game is a lot.

am I the only one who thinks toba landing was the best map we’ve gotten? I honestly don’t mind it as killer. It’s not that survivor sided.

Yes the main building can be a pain but compared to Shattered square, Garden, Red forest and old Haddonfield. I’d rather go to toba landing.

Tobas Landing is a good map overall. Compared to the last new Maps (which were Eyrie of Crows, Garden of Joy and Shattered Square), it is clearly the best out of this bunch and I would not really call it survivor-sided. It might be cluttered, but it is also quite small (I think it was around Coal Tower-size).

It is not really my favorite map, but it is just wrong to call it really survivor-sided.

When I look at Garden of Joy, this is a pain in the butt to play as Killer. And Shattered Square is just disliked by both sides I think. Usually I load into this Map and I think "huh. Yeah, this exists", because I always forget that it is in the game and it is never enjoyable to play it, regardless which side.

    • Smash hit is a problem now that you can pair it with other perks to get a 20 seconds reload time
    • BNP is a buff (see below)
    • Coldwin Rework bring nothing to the table, it actually favor survivors now as devs removed the dead zone that favored the killers

The thing is the so called "condemn playstyle" is her whole point, she sucks at chase but compensates by having the condemned mechanic and it's the reason why most of us Sadako mains have enjoyed her from the beginning despite the obvious lack of any meaningful chase potential.

Imo the solution is making her counters more intuitive and not gutting her current playstyle. I wouldn't even mind if the auras of TVs were visible from 32 meters or something, just let survivors know they have options.

I would rather see that Condemned is a mechanic that is present, but very rarely actually leads to Kills. Because again, the game is focussed around hooking Survivors, they are a very important element. Not teleporting until you down someone and kill them instantly.

I see Condemned like Pigs Traps - it is a threat and should be a threat if you ignore it, but it should mainly be a Slowdown-Tool.

this does not mean that your teammates (which you have 0 control over in SoloQ) will do the same. And it really doesnt matter if you die or anyone else, an early 3v1 due to a condemned Kill means that the game is basically over.

the game is team game. are you expecting for you to win if your team plays bad? at what point does killer win then? should the killer ever win? this complaint could be also be attributed to michael myer's tombstone add-on's because your teammates can feed him stalk and you might be on receiving end of the instant kill. at least in sadako's case, it is your own fault for getting mori'd.

Let alone that this playstyle of her ignores one of the core mechanics of the game - Hooks. Her Condemned-playstyle really needs to be looked at. I did only die once to Condemned since the Rework (and this was also really unlucky because I went to one TV to get rid of a tape which got snatched by a less condemned Survivor before and the next TV had Sadako appearing right in front of me..)

The first part also applies to michael myer's tombstone add-on's. you only died once because the mechanic was non-threatening. your dying more now because it is threatening.

I mean, Myers Tombstone is BS and should have been removed from the game years ago. What is your point? Using Tombstone as your main argument is really not the best way.

(And yes, it is a teamgame. Does not mean that mechanics which punish Solos more than SWFs (where I would at least know that I have capable teammates) are any good)

Yeah, this is difficult. I mean, I also take ages for the Skilled Huntress-achievement (because I am really not a "skilled Huntress"). But the reason why I dont get it is obviously Made for This and not me being really bad with her.

The devs should have stayed being cautious with perk effects, back in the day 3% was considered subtle cheating and players with minimal experience in the game could identify a "different movement speed", and we still do.

Game is designed around 100% speed, anything over that breaks the core game.

Survivor mains are on this weird state of claiming MFT is "weak and worse than SB and lithe" while running it over SB and Lithe.

And Of course 3% wont have as much of an effect in Low mmr where survivors dont know how to loop and just run into every wall, but in the higher brackets it makes a normal 15-20 second chase take 50-60 , and that is equivalent to old DH for distance meta value.

The value of 3% is very difficult to identify while in the moment, but when you look back at VODs and videos and identify moments where the surv was an inch away from being hit but still made the pallet stun or got the window vault you and extended chase for another 10-20-30 seconds, that was 3% Value.

The thing is, 3% Movement Speed are good. There is no discussion about it. But you cannot really get a diverse Meta when you are only cautious with creating Perks. Survivors did not get a good Perk in ages (when it comes to new Perks). The last time there was potential for a good Perk was Reassurance, but this did not leave the PTB in a useful way, because suddenly Killer players were worried about Survivors being hold hostage. And the result is a Perk which can find its use in SWFs, but is not good for Solos.

And with Made for This, there is at least an alternative to Exhaustion-Perks. And this is the right way to do, you cannot just force Survivors off Exhaustion Perks by making them all bad like Balanced Landing or Dead Hard. You should create an attractive alternative for them to use. And I see a good mix in my games with Made for This and Exhaustion Perks being used. Which I prefer over seeing 2-4 Sprint Bursts and the ones who dont run Sprint Burst running Lithe instead.

For the average Survivor Sprint Burst and Lithe are better anyway.

The only problem I see with Made For This is the stacking of Haste effects, mainly Hope in Endgame. But this is Hope doing the heavy lifting, Hope alone would be as problematic, but nobody really cared about it. And this can (and should) be fixed. But I think it is fine that Survivors get a strong Perk once every few years.

Yep, did not really realize that, no need to be rude.

But this again does not really mean that random screenshots are any proof at all. I can also cherrypick some screenshots and escape every game (or die every game to claim that a killer is OP) or 4K every game.

  • They are looking into Pyramid Head, they said it when they reverted the "Tormented on Hit"-change. They wanted to implement something for him and especially his Tormented-status effect and went for this because it was an easy and fast solution to implement (which in the end turned out horrible).

So they will probably rework him in a future Patch, but no ETA given. And IMO he is not really that needed for an Add On-Pass, while you can only really use his Range Add Ons, he is still an overall strong Killer and IMO others are more in need of an Update. (e.g. they said they are working on Twins, they wanted to take a look at Billy again and they really should take a look back at Sadako)

that sounds like a lot like Michael Myer's and his tombstone add-on's. lots of reward for little input. I still think it is not as bad because your input as survivor is looping well and not getting hit by not being out of position. I guess you can argue that you die too fast for too few m1 mistakes but you can look at that as high skill-floor for survivor to be successful.

The problem is that even if you as that single Survivor in the game do everything correct, this does not mean that your teammates (which you have 0 control over in SoloQ) will do the same. And it really doesnt matter if you die or anyone else, an early 3v1 due to a condemned Kill means that the game is basically over.

Let alone that this playstyle of her ignores one of the core mechanics of the game - Hooks. Her Condemned-playstyle really needs to be looked at. And while doing everything correctly on my Part, I still get punished because of her unhealthy playstyle.

Dont be that person, we dont do this here.

  • @TenTrillion said:

..wow, so i really got disconnected for being bullied. Great job, BHVR

Nope, you got DCed because you went afk. If you think you got bullied, you might want to improve at the game instead of just going the easy route and AFK. (Let alone that nowadays everything, including regular gameplay is called "bullying")

And in your particular case, if the Survivors got all Gens done, just open the gate and kick pallets or walls for two minutes.

  • Skull Merchant. Nobody cares about her anyway, including her teachables.

  • I would agree on what @Annso_x said. There was another Thread that AFKing is apparently now FINALLY being penalized, so it seems like the game forces you to DC when you AFK. Which is totally fine and reasonable, it helps Survivors to get a Bot instead of an AFK-Teammate (even tho I am still not happy that we have Bots in Public Games) and it also helps against AFKing Killers, especially if they are just farming Rift Fragments and XPs.

  • Random Screenshots dont prove anything. Also, I dont really believe that they are really recent when I dont see a Nicolas Cage (yeah, you are a 3man SWF, but I see so many Nicolas Cage that it really surprises me if none of your random Teammates did play him)

Sadly the way survivors classify a perk as good is "Does it make escapes braindead easy or is value guaranteed and free?"

Dark theory is a strong effect that has counter play without requiring a counter perk from the other side.

Sadly anything that isn't Holding M1 on a gen or Hold Shift W while making sure to predrop all pallets during a chase requires too much brain power for survivors.

And BHVR caters to that brain deadedness to the point of making Buckle up have endurance for both the picker and the picked up for free, meanwhile WGLF requires you to either get a pallet/Flashy save or take a prot hit to even be able to be used and only grants endurance for the picked up.

Or, Dark Theory is just a Trash Perk (it really is). And comparing it with Made for This only shows that the Devs were way too cautious with Perks back in the past. Because IF Dark Theory would actually be a strong effect, it would be used mroe often.

But well, currently Made for This is "The Thing" which makes Killers lose games. Not their own mistakes or anything, nono. And when Made for This is nerfed, there is another "The Thing" which is the reason why Killers lose games.

Made for This is worse than Sprint Burst and Lithe on the majority of Survivors which are commonly found in regular matches. There will be the odd case where Made for This is stronger on a Survivor because they are really good, but you wont encounter them on a regular basis. At least most Killers in this Forum, which clearly struggle with the game, dont encounter those players on a regular basis.

But again, Killers will just not stop complaining until the current "The Thing" is nerfed and they can complain about the next "The Thing". (Or just SWF, the ultimate Scapegoat)

This, to me, is the biggest thing Sadako got out of her update. Now, like Pig, Cenobite, and Mastermind, the Onryô can now force interaction with her power. Survivors more ignore Condemned at their peril.

It is fine that you get condemned when you ignore her power. To an extend you can compare this to someone who does not want to remove their RBT.

But it should not be reliable to get Condemned Kills. Especially not if you can achieve that by ignoring one of the core mechanics (Hooks).

  • @Shroompy said:

So what youre telling me, is that everyone who never played a game of Sadako in their life saying shes weaker ARE WRONG???

    impossible

Yeah, quite surprising that people jumped the gun on that one and called a Killer weak(er) after some changes.

    @Topic:

I have not played against her that much, but my games were fine at the moment. Granted, if there is a build which is reliable to get Condemned Kills, this should be nerfed. I see Condemned the same as Pigs Traps - some Slowdown and a threat, but not a consistent one. You should die via Condemned if you dont do anything against it, but it should not be a common thing.

So I guess there will be more work on Sadako to not have her getting Condemned Kills on such a reliable basis.

  • @LordGlint said:

Everyone claims Wesker is popular because he's both strong and easy to play (on console). Just cause he's a bit more complicated than M1 killers doesn't make him that hard. The mechanical skill part of his ability lies on his collision exploits and 95% of the Wesker players don't play that way and still have great access to his strengths. He's nowhere near as difficult to pick up as Nurse or Blight or Singularity. He is pretty intuitive and very rewarding to play and win with.

Nah, you have to think that playing Killer in general takes the most skill in the world. DBD is not a game where much skill is required, but if you play Killer, no other game can compete. You also have to have 180 IQ AND be a supermodel to play Killer.

Jokes aside, you are absolutely correct. I would argue that Nurse is not that difficult to learn, but Singularity is a good comparison. Singularity is strong, but way harder to learn than Wesker, who is probably even stronger.

    @Topic:

Great, this is how it was and should be. There was nothing more frustrating than getting slammed into the same Pallet you just dropped on the other side. Or getting set back through a Window you already fully vaulted. With around 30 Ping obviously.

Wesker still gets the infection, but at least not massive value anymore.

  • I would also say it is a Bug. Because if it is an intended feature it is really badly implemented. It certainly looks and feels like they messed something up.

  • Yep, because Killer is in such a bad spot right now. /s

When I say crash. I mean crash. Not lag out. Not disconnect from host/server. Not esc & leave match. A full on game crash sending you back to desktop/dashboard and sending a crash report. I don’t know when “my game crashed” turned into “oops I lagged out”.

From my experience, actual crashes because it is the games fault happen very rarely. Most of the time when people crash it is a problem on their end.

Having some time to fix the issue is better than letting them back instantly. We have posts here on a weekly basis where people claim to be banned for over 24 hours because they crash due to their unstable internet. You have those penalties also so that they can do something about their connection issues instead of just joining the next game.

And if someone ragequits, it helps to let them cool off a bit. Someone who is angry at the game and ragequits will probably ragequit in the next game if it does not go according to their plan.

And last but not least, higher penalties discourage a bit to DC in the first place. However, I dont think it should be more than 5 minutes for the first DC (I have seen 15 minutes going around from some people, but this is too much IMO).

And, to repeat - yes, actual crashes from the game can happen. But as I said, for me, those are very rare. And I doubt I am the odd exception.

  • It used to be 5 minutes since the implementation. Then at some point it got set to 1 minute, I think the Servers were not stable during this time so they reduced the Penalty to 1 minute for the first DC to make it less severe if someone crashes unintentionally.

Seems like they reverted this (and granted, I did only crash like two times over the past months, DBD has been really stable for me).

Obviously when he was announced he was hyped but no one was praying for him to come to the game.

If people pray for FNAF to come to DBD, I really dont want to know if those really exist. But FNAF-Fans are quite fanatic about their game, which is also the main reason why I dont want it. Especially because they wont stop, if they get one Chapter, they think there should be more chapters with other Animatronics.

    Yeeeaah...No.

  • Licensed Chapter. So you can either expect that Nicolas Cage wanted more money from purchases OR BHVR had to pay quite a bit for the license and this way they try to get money back for acquiring the license. And in the end, they are still a company and companies are no charity and want to make money. And either way, Nicolas Cage also wants money for his license.

I just think the other option would not be to offer the DLC for 5 bucks instead of 10, the other option would have probably just been to not bring Nicolas Cage into the game.

Agreed. BHVR crippled Nic Cage sales with sub-par perks. If you are charging $10 for a survivor, that survivor better have some meta worthy perks.

If BHVR would have gone their usual route with Survivor-Only Chapters (like Ash and Mikaela), Nicolas Cage would have gotten at least one OP-Perk which will be nerfed into the ground after some time. And then there would be a big tantrum by Killer Mains on this Forum. Aka this would also not please people.

I just think that BHVR does not really have full control over the costs for this DLC.

I can't believe they didn't add more BPs to doing gens solo. Do they not realize how much lower survivor BP gains are compared to killer? Objective bloodpoints in particular are ridiculously low. You can get 1250 for an 80 second generator. The reward does not fit the time investment.

*90 seconds. But yes. 4 Great Skill Checks are around the same as 90 seconds on a Gen.

  • Yep, they are dead. All of them except for CoH were bad to begin with (maybe Shadowstep was okish, but not worth a Perk Slot). And even CoH before the most recent Nerf was not that good. At least not as good when you can spend the time on a Gen instead, even before the most recent Nerf Boon-Users lead to the team having a lower chance of escaping IMO.

And IMO they could have nerfed CoH from its last state before the most recent nerf by just letting it work on one floor instead of mulitiple floors. I think this would have been enough and it would be a decent Perk without being too strong or too hard to deal with as Killer.

But they destroyed the Perk and basically put it in line with all the other Boon-Perks. I hope we will never see any Boon-Perks again, because they were a failed concept to begin with.

Once you are satisfied with that, you can start chasing bots then real people.

Expect to spend a couple of weeks over this. (Depending on your daily game time)

    ...

And then, you'll see why Nurse has one of the lowest kill rates, statistics-wise. (She mostly wins against survivors who have no clue how to verse her. The others will surprise you with their crafty technique.)

    "couple of weeks"...lel.

Most killer mains would cry and solo queue wouldn't inflate kill rates as much as it used to.

They surely would cry. I remember how they claimed to only go against top tier SWFs with the HUD. And the HUD barely changed anything for SoloQ. Except my Blood Pressure because I now can see that nobody is doing anything while I am being chased.

    @Topic:

The thing is, SoloQ can have all information they want. Even if the Devs would be mad enough to include Voice Comms AND the system would actually work (aka no problems with language, toxicity, etc.), this would not totally bridge the gap between SoloQ and SWF. (which would obviously not work, but lets pretend there would be an ideal scenario)

Because the main strength in SWF is to remove the RNG from your teammates. The Claudette who is self-caring in a Corner against a Legion running Sloppy Butcher? You wont play with that in a 4 man-SWF. The Meghead who drops every Pallet on the Map instantly? You wont have to deal with that either.

You will know that your teammates are decent and that they wont waste time and do Gens when not being chased or are good at being chased. And information will not provide this.

E.g. I once reached second Stage on the Hook despite the Survivors having ALL information available - two were on a Gen together, one was being chased (shown by an indicator and them getting injured). Yet, none of those two on a Gen moved to get me.

You also see Survivors with Kindred who run full map for an Unhook despite seeing that someone else is already going.

Information will not really fix anything. The HUD proves it, it gives quite a lot of information and yet did not improve SoloQ-experience at all.

Imagine that! Using your power to help you win, helps you win. It's almost like everything about her is stuck in her drones and not using at all or using them outside of the most optimal way heavily impacts her ability to function.

I play Skull Merchant as a stealth chase killer and that has only really been possible thanks to running two purple addons. Trying to do that without purple addons was significantly worse meanwhile 3-gen is extremely effective since you get the benefit of your power most of the time and can be done without using any addons. That's the problem that needs solving and it doesn't require killswitching a killer or even absolutely decimating her kit to the point where a refund option is necessary.

If this team is the best in the world and still got held for nearly an hour by someone with far less experience than them then I would question whether or not they should be called the best in the world.

Nah, you should rather question the design of the Killer. I mean, I know that people like to pretend that Killers have to have at least 180 IQ to play, because it is sooo hard. But setting up Drones on Gens and returning to the Gens when someone is near them is not really hard to do at all. Basically everyone can do that.

Skull Merchant is just a failed design. And if many players notice this at the PTB, I have to suspect that BHVR did not really look carefully at their own design when creating it.

  • All the Survivors fault that they went into this situation. /s

I mean, this cannot be more clear how problematic Skull Merchant is. This is a non-tournament player against the best team in the World. They will probably win all of their games if they play this Build in normal matches.

This is a case where I dislike being right.

She's so problematic that she does need to be removed until they come up with a better design because this is ridiculous.

The ONLY reason she lost was because of inexperience. Had she had 500 more hours (i believe she only had 800 total) she would've won.

If that is what an average pub SM can do to the BEST PLAYERS IN THE WORLD....then what is she doing to regular players?

Yeah, I also said this right from the start - she should be killswitched and reworked. With a Refund-Option if people dont like her new design.

And I never said this about anything in this game. But Skull Merchant is really the worst design. I dont really know how they thought it was fine when they tested it.

There is really a big difference between 3-genning and not 3-genning with her. When I brought her to P9 (and I will never play her again), I did not 3-gen from the start. However, when there was an opportunity and I was about to lose, I used my Drones. And even if it was not a perfect 3-gen, it is laughable how much the game shifted from me almost losing to me winning without a real chance for the Survivors. And how long the games took because of this...

  • This issue will be solved in around a week. Then you can make your Adepts.

I think that BL1 should stay, but BL2 and BL3 can go.

Doubt that this will happen, given that the Devs quite recently buffed BL2 and BL3 (by reducing the time it takes to reach those Levels of Bloodlust).

Which was not really a good change and should not have happened, but hey...What do I know.
