I suspect this release will actually be an original character since the last 2 releases were licensed. But if there were another licensed survivor without a corresponding killer, who would it be? Maybe Jesse Faden from Control? Or Alan Wake?
I also think that it is most likely the same with Pinhead and Mikaela. So I would expect a original Survivor.
But aside from those you mentioned, The Walking Dead would also be a license where a Solo-Survivor would make the most sense.

i feel like this is jsut not true? according to this it starts at 48 hr https://support.deadbydaylight.com/hc/en-us/articles/4408581192596-How-long-do-temporary-bans-last-#:~:text=48%20Hours%2D%3E%201%20Week%20%2D%3E%201%20Month%20%2D%3E%20PERMANENT&text=If%20an%20offense%20is%20considered,future%20offenses%20being%20permanent%20bans.
I mean, it is even written in the link:
"If an offense is considered to be particularly egregious, the duration of the ban may skip one or more steps in this process."
So you can be permanently banned without having the escalation-process which is written here. There are some offenses which will get you pemanently banned immediatly.

Never really play against Bots. The only time I start a game with Bots is when I want to try something out (e.g. when they changed that blocked Gens can regress, I had to load in a friend and a few Bots). Or when I test out a new Killer-Power. You cannot really test it against Bots, but you can at least try a bit around how it works.
And of course if a new Map is introduced, I like to look at it during a Bot-Match.
But other than that...Nope. I dont see any point in playing against Bots, not even for actually learning how to play a Killer.
-
You always have to remember, if they say "this year", this means the year from the Anniversary onwards. So the "BHVR-year" starts in June and ends in June.

The solution is showing in end game who is in party with who. So killers who regularly get stomped will finally see that they don't get stomped only by 4 man sweat squads but also by 4 solo survivors, but then they will kinda find something else to blame for their loss as usual
It would certainly be a solution. But I dont think it would be a good solution. If they dont face a SWF, they would look for another reason why they lost. Perks, Items, the Map...
And IF they face an SWF, it would probably lead to toxicity and they blame the SWF for playing together. Furthermore, I am pretty sure the forum would be full of Screenshots of Killers who lost to 4-mans to show how strong they are (obviously the other 9 out of 10 games where they either win or dont face a 4-man would not appear here).
-
Do you have Crossplay enabled? If you dont have it enabled, it might take really long to find a match since you will only be matched with people who also have Crossplay disabled.
Or are you on the newest PTB? Because then it is normal that you have to wait very long for a Match as Killer, because more people want to try out the new Killer. Especially during a Killer only-PTB.

It really depends on how they implement it, if true. I'm typically not a fan of a true 3rd person view. If it's basically a normal killer height first person POV with Chucky sitting below it, that would be ok. But I think a lot of the charm in playing Chucky would be having a very low POV
I think it is a normal height with Chucky sitting below it. So you will not be able to turn the camera and look behind you without turning the character.
And I think they mainly would do this because a very low PoV was not appreciated in the past (Blight on Release).
-
I dont think that the main point for many people is the Blindness. It is more the fact that Ultimate Weapon is a very strong Perk which is better than many Information Perks, has less counters than Aura Reads AND is even stronger on the strong Killers AND adds Blindness as a Bonus, which would not even be needed.

I don't know about his power, but he definitely plays in 3rd person, which is something.
https://pbs.twimg.com/media/F-aWSp4bYAAc6gf?format=jpg&name=medium
This would make sense since he would otherwise have a really bad PoV. Basically Release-Blight PTB, even tho it would make sense for Chucky since he is actually that small. But putting him in third person or over-shoulder view can fix this.
@Topic:
I really dont like Chucky. So not really happy about. So my only hope is that he is fun to play as and against.
-
Buying stuff in a videogame (most likely on a BIG discount) is not really an achievement which warrants any exclusive items. You were able to play with the characters and use the cosmetics for roughly two years and every player who started playing DBD during this time did not have access to those things. AND if they want to have it, they have to pay the full price (at least for now).

Yeah, but just check how now there are 2 shelter woods, 2 suffocation pit, 2 ironworks, etc... Actually looks more like a bug than anything, but was kinda interesting :P
About the entity consuming the maps... that'd be so cool for a good twist on the lore :))
Yes, because every MacMillan-Map got a variation. Nobody asked for this, I dont think many people like it, but the Devs added it. To the most balanced, less complained Realm of the game.
Meanwhile, other Realms like Glenvale or Borgo have only 1 Map.
-
Opinions are usually not wrong. But yours certainly is.
-
- "Too many save gens
There are at least 2 gens at really hard to reach positions for killer (Upside-down room & Isolation Cell) which are also on the opposite side of the map, making it near impossible to defend those. Smart survivors will keep these 2 gens for last at all cost. If there is another gen on top of a catwalk this gets even harder for killer.
Suggestion:
Move the Upside-Down room gen to this corner here."
I mean... Just ignore those two Gens? It should be a basic understanding for Killers that some Gens are not worth defending. E.g. the Saloon-Gen on Dead Dawg.
Those two Gens are the same. If you just focus on the middle Gens, you will have 5 Gens to defend and if the Survivors do the two Gens which are free for them, it is whatever.
-
Yep, the upcoming Patch features nothing for Survivors. First time it happend if I remember correctly that one side really got nothing.
Your ideas are good, in general, small things would be enough. My feedback to your ideas:
Perks:
Flip Flop - sounds like a nice Buff to the Perk itself and it would also make sense, however, it would mean that you HAVE to run Tenacity with it (because you need to recover to make use of Flip Flop). And in general it is not really a fun build to verse (you know, the classical Unbreakable, Flip Flop, Tenacity-Build)
Open Handed - sounds great. Would make the Perk really good. And not too strong, because there is Fogwise, which can also give an early Aura Reveal. But giving a short Aura Reveal to the Survivor as a Bonus to open-handed would make the Perk a lot more viable. But it should be shorter, not 9 seconds like Lethal Pursuer, I think 5 is enough to see who the Killer is, but not where they go.
Spine Chill - against it. You notice a lot of things anyway, e.g. screaming or Killer Instinct. The only new info would be Aura Read, but Distortion exist for this.
Saboteur - 100% yes. I know why they implemented it (so that you have to commit to that one hook), but I always see Survivors who try to heal under the hook being sucked at the Hook to sabotage and it would make the Perk better to use.
Inner Strength - yes, neat little Buff.
General gameplay-mechanics:
Dying-state healing - not sure. I can get your idea and it would make sense for scenarios where the Killer goes for 4 Slugs. However, I would rather see another basekit mechanic which can combat that (like they tried with the Finisher Mori where Survivors could heal themselves to Injured in 45 seconds). But more specific to counter scenarios where the Killer just wants to be toxic. Because otherwise, going down next to each other is a huge mistake done by the Survivors and it should not be easily negated. That being said, on the other hand the Killer can also pick up one of them, there is no need to go for two Slugs at the same time...
Bleed out-Timer visibility - No. Maybe the Killer, but I dont think it would make any difference when it comes to toxicity. But clearly not other Survivors. But probably better to not change anything.
Removal of Unhook canceling - Agreed. Does not serve any purpose anymore, once commited to the action the Survivor should only stop it when they get hit by the Killer.

Yikes. I didn't play Hillbilly back then, so I was mostly spared. But I distinctly remember a match as Bubba where I was busy breaking pallets all game on that map. Nowadays I could probably do better but back then it was pretty painful.
Also, if you have any pointers on how to use Billy's chainsaw on that map, I'd be grateful. I have found only 2 loops so far, that are fine to play around. It's the first time I feel unsure what to do. :-(
I am no expert on Billy and I did not play that map for such a long time.
But if I remember correctly, all the Pallets on the Outside (those which are close to the rooms, in the main Hallways, which are very unsafe) are a nightmare to play with the Chainsaw. You can get easy M1s, because the Pallets are unsafe, but hitting Chainsaw Hits is not easy, if I remember correctly.
The rooms itself should work better for that.
But back in the day I had trouble with this Map, it is an indoor Map (mobility is difficult) and the short Loops are quite awkward to play with the Chainsaw.
-
I knew that someone would write a post like this. My speculation was that it would happen because of cosmetics which were bought.
You seem to "forget" two things:
- If you bought the characters and/or cosmetics shortly before it was removed, you had a big discount.
- If you bought the characters before it was re-introduced today, you had access to characters and cosmetics which other players did not have access to.
That Stranger Things is back is a very, very good thing and probably one of the best things that happened to DBD this year. Saying that you feel that you are at a disadvantage, because you bought the characters before (maybe even on a discount) is just nonsense.

Hawkins is definitely a good map for killers. That hasn't changed (not that anything changed on that map). However, some killers definitely benefit more from that than others. Doctor for example can be quite the menace. Hillbilly on the other hand is not all that amazing on it.
Back in the day, whenever I thought "Hey, I want to play Billy", it was Hawkins 9/10 times. Random. Without any Offering or increased Odds.

I dont really understand how so many people could have the feeling of missing it. Especially because there were loads of complaints before it got removed.

Back in the day I just switched one of my Perks with Circle of Healing and played normally. And I would advise to do just that. Yes, it will take ages. Yes, Circle of Healing sucks. But IMO it is not really worth to dedicate an entire build for such an Achievement, especially because it will roughly take the same time compared to just using Circle of Healing and three other Perks you usually run.
It is just one of those Achievements which got way harder to get. You can still get it (which is the reason why it will not be changed), but it is harder than before. You will not encounter many Hex-Perks anymore (back in the day you had at least Ruin in almost all Killer Builds, so there was one Totem to bless) and you have to hope for a Killer running Plaything or stuff like that. I would also not say that you really have to look for Totems in advance. If you see a Hex because you stumble upon it, great, but I would only search if you know that there is a Hex in play.
And well, obviously it also got harder because all Boons are trash.

I find this hilarious as you are without fault always replying to people when there are patches that dunk on killer and give nothing for them or give absolutelly useless stuff and buff survivors, "every patch does need to give both sides things" but you say this now. I get it is dumb that this patch only gives things for killer but your reaction to it being the complete opposite of what you reply is amazing.
My general opinion is that it is not needed that Side A gets compensated when Side B gets something. Or that Side A needs to lose something when it gains something.
But the thing is, that this is a completely one-sided patch. This is my main problem here. And I dont think this happened before.

Im sorry, I think I literally missed something. Calm Spirit got nerfed?
You get a Debuff when searching Chests or cleansing Totems, but you are silent while doing so. This is considered a Nerf and IMO rightfully so. I think Side Objectives should not be slowed down, it is also even bad for the Killer, if Survivors dont cleanse Totems or open Chests due to a Debuff, they will spend more time on a Gen.
IMO this can be fixed if they would just only apply this Part if in the Killers Terror Radius. You dont need to be silent anyway when the Killer is full map away, it would make sense that the Survivor is more careful (so slower, but silent) when the Killer is nearby, so only applying the Speed Penalty and silent-effect while in the Terror Radius is the way to go. (Also a neat little Buff for Stealth-Killers)

Calm spirit is, at the moment, one of the stronger perks to use. The killer meta has made it so less brain power is needed on the killer's part, much like how WoO has done the same for survivors. Opening a locker and getting blind and a scream for just holding W is a strong perk, maybe even strong enough that people will want to buy the DLC! Wait a chapter or two and it'll get the MFT treatment and be 'trash heaped.'
In regardless to Calm spirit getting buffed... Im curious. How would you buff it? Since it IS a strong counter to the meta atm, you saying 'buff it' will likely trigger a few killer mains around. So... becareful.
Calm Spirit is a staple in my build atm. Run it with Distortion and you're practically invisible.
The funny thing is that the Killer still gets the Notification-Bubble if the Survivor has Calm Spirit. So they might not scream, but the Killer will still see them, especially when they are already looking in the direction of the Survivor.

Thank you for explaining it to me :) Yeah it seems not worth using, maybe in clutch situations but dejavu is better it seems...
The main reason Prove Thyself was used back in the day was because it provided 100% BP-Bonus to Co-Op-Actions (so repairing and healing). Doing 1 1/2 Gens with another Survivor meant that you had max Objective-Points. This was the reason why so many players ran Prove Thyself.
And ever since they removed this Bonus, it is rarely used. It still negates part of the penalty when working with another Survivor (it used to speed up Gen Repairs by 15%, which negated the penalty of Co-Op Repairs, now it is 10%), but the Perk is pretty unattractive to use because it does not provide BP-Bonus anymore.
And as others have said, repairing separate Gens is more efficient. You get more Progress done AND it is more safe, because if the Killer finds a Gen which is being worked on, they can only interrupt one Survivor. Legion would be a obvious mention here, since they can easily frenzy multiple Survivors when they work on a Gen together. But in general, hitting two Survivors with Sloppy Butcher can be huge instead of just hitting one. And obviously if a Nurse or Oni find multiple Survivors, it can result in some fast Downs.

"not more increase throw frequency"
This is not a Nerf. Trickster starts at 3 Blades per second and after 8 Blades he reaches 4 Blades per second. After the Patch he will start at 4 Blades per second, but will not gain more throw rate. Starting at the maximum is not a Nerf, it is a clear Buff.
And 16 blades instead of 12... Considerung that he throws faster and especially enters Main Event faster, I am not sure if this is really a Nerf or more of a necessary evil to make him not too oppressive.
@Topic:
I am also pretty concerned about the changes, but I wait to see how they play out. But Trickster was already really miserable to go against and while they write that they want to make him better for both sides, I dont think they really achieved it. Sure, he gets Main Event more often, so you are not the poor guy who gets hit by something which happens rarely during the game. But getting hit by it frequently...
Also, with the two reworked Add Ons (Ji-Woons Autograph and Fizz-Spin Soda) you reach Main Event after just hitting 3 Blades. REALLY not sure about that one...

10s of endurance after a heal AND 3% infinite haste while being in Deep Wound isn't balanced for you?
lmao, survivor mains when one perk doesn't let them run killer for 5 gens, do the 5 gens at the same time, open the exit gate in 2 seconds, take 6 hits, pick up every slug on the map instantly, and BM the killer.
I dont think that Made for This enabled such long chases. MAYBE with very skilled Survivors, but I dont think they needed Made for This to begin with. In general, for this Perk to be effective the Survivor had to be good. It is not a Perk which turns bad Survivors into good Survivors, you cannot change bad pathing by just slapping on 3% more Movement Speed.
The thing is that the Perk is not balanced. The Perk is dead. This is the problem. If the Perk would be nerfed but still an option to pick, it would be fine. But this is not the case.
The 10 seconds of Endurance rarely came up, now with less use of the Perk, even less likely that it will happen. And if you want 10 seconds of Endurance, you can rather run Buckle Up and For The People, which does not provide 3% Speedboost in Deep Wounds, but helps both Survivors (which is more valuable IMO). And the 3% Speedboost in Deep Wound are way too situational to be useful, since you cannot reliable achieve this. You are 100% dependent on the Killer putting you into Deep Wound. And while this is the same for being injured, you will 100% get injured every game. But for Deep Wound... The Killer can either avoid it by not hitting the Survivor directly after Unhooking or waiting out DH (which is now 100% possible) OR by not chasing them if they have OTR. Hitting the Survivor will be enough when they have OTR (which the Killer knows if they have it) and then they can leave this Survivor and they will also not really get value out of MfT.
So yeah... Not balanced, really. I dont really understand why people have to downplay the Nerf so much, the Perk is dead.

Ironically, now you can combine DH and MFT because they're removing the Exhaustion restriction.
So you can play two mediocre Perks to get a mediocre result. If the Killer lets you. Yay.
@lav3 said:
You can't be serious comaring MFT nerf to Ruin level.
What are these concerns survivor will be unplayable without MFT? Like was it unplayable before its release?
Nobody says that Survivor is unplayable without MfT. But you cannot deny that it was at least an option and there was more variety. (Unlike when DH was at its strongest, than you saw mainly DH and MAYBE something like Sprint Burst and Lithe, but with Made for This you had a better mix).
But the Perk is dead. That people make mental gymnastics that you can use it with DH or OTR does not change that. And this is sad, because it is a bad way of balancing, but sadly quite frequent when it comes to BHVR. They release something which is a bit too strong and then they nerf it into Oblivion. Sometimes with 1 Patch (Made for This), sometimes with multiple patches (CoH).

Same here. I'm a slinger main and I really enjoy legion. This is especially frustrating for slinger as I love him and already have problems with mft.
To be fair, Legion and Slinger dont have it worse than before. Because MfT works against them before and will continue working against them. (Even tho I think it is debateable for Legion, because you are not forced and even encouraged to leave a Survivor after putting them into Deep Wound)
But they did not get weaker than pre-nerf MfT.

Not sure about this one. I mean, we had those before with Ash and Mikaela, but Singularity should have been enough of a selling argument. Maybe they wanted to go sure after the two Chapters before were not really well-received and it was the Anniversary Chapter, after all.
But that they did not give Nicolas Cage any super-strong Perk also speaks against Made For This being a Cashgrab to sell the Chapter.

You aren't talking about content, you are talking about buffs/nerfs.
Buffing some of the really terrible Survivor-Perks would be a thing. And also content, because they might be worth using. And I think it would be fair in a Patch where Killers not only get a new character (including 3 Perks), but also receive Buffs for another Killer, have a better time on two Realms AND get a Nerf of a popular Survivor Perk.
But yeah, how can I even think that?
I guess I will come back to you in January when the new Survivor drops in the Midchapter and Killers will get some content as well.
-
There would not be an "Equal Attention Buff" or anything (even if I would totally be in favor to buff DS back to 5 seconds).
But this Chapter will not feature anything for Survivors, except for Nerfs. And there are a lot of really terrible Survivor-Perks which could have received changes (on both sides, but Killers get a completely new Character, 3 new Perks, Map Nerfs, MfT-Nerf and a Trickster-Buff). So they could have looked into some of them and buff a handful of Perks.
(Granted, the Midchapter in January will be Survivor-only, so I expect the Devs to do something for Killers as well)

It's because BHVR are extremely survivor sided, that's why the devs gave survivors a nerf to one of the most used survivor perks and several of the most survivor sided maps without any compensation 😭
I mean, the "BHVR is survivor-sided"-Argument can be pretty dead after this Patch, which only features stuff for Killer. Not even asking for compensation or anything. Just content.
But I really would have liked to see something for Survivors in this Chapter. Because it is a Killer-only Chapter and there will not even be any content for Survivors (aside from maybe a new Map, but this is for both roles). And considering that there will be no Midchapter in December, Survivors will have to wait for new things until January, when the Midchapter drops with a new Survivor. (And I am pretty sure that this Midchapter does not only include things for Survivors)
Best Survivors can now hope for is a Bugfix that female Vaults are fixed, lol.

Not every patch needs to give survivors stuff.
While this is true, they could have thrown Survivors a Bone in this Patch.
Survivors in this Patch only get Nerfs while Killers only get Buffs (including the Map Changes). AND this is a Killer-only Chapter, so there is not even anything new for Survivors in this Chapter.
I am the last person who would say that both sides should receive Buffs and Nerfs equally, but there is really nothing in this Patch for Survivors aside from Nerfs.

Ruin got it far FAR worse than MFT.
Sure, but you have to keep in mind that the Double-Nerf for Ruin was mainly so that it is completely removed from the Meta (yes, same happens with MfT) so that the Devs can pat their back and say that they changed the Meta (when in fact, the Meta did not really change, different Perks were used, but the nature of those Perks were the same).
And this was with the goal to change a Meta. So surely they wanted to destroy the Perk (Ruin).

As for Trickster. I love the recoil being removed so people on controller can play him. But all the other changes sound very broken. We'll have to wait for the PTB though.
Also, poor Legion and Deathslinger players...
I come back to you in a few weeks and then you can explain to me where this new Meta is which you just predicted.

Sorta of jumping to conclusions aren't you? You will be able to run it with OTR or DH which are both strong perks in their own right, not to mention MFT has a way to give Deep Wounds as well.
It's likely gonna still be a decent perk, just not an auto-include in every build now.
I mean, it was not an auto-include at all. I have seen more variety than just 4 Made For This. I would not even compare it to old DH where you had at least 2 DHs, but many times 3 or even 4 DHs each game. I dont see this with Made For This, it is used less often than people claim it to be.
I dont think it will be worth using at all. It will have a lower pickrate than Buckle Up when it hits live.
