Nobody is complaining about someone sweating here, you are missing the point. In comp 100% of killer have to tunnel, since it's the only way to win against a good SWF. And in comp all anti-tunnel perks are banned and there are severe restrictions on what builds the survivors are allowed to take, so if they played with public rules without any perk and item restrictions, every comp game would end up with just 0-2 hooks in total.

Glad that 99% of the players here dont play comp and therefore all your yapping is irrelevant for them.

So whenever you play against SWF, you are supposed to stand AFK for the whole trial? Because you can't win against SWFs without tunneling.

    Incorrect.

Do you understand what im saying? i said it 2 times already.

Im asking for some context, that is not the same as accusing anyone, but the chopped screenshot is removing some context.

Im saying that ITS POSSIBLE they were a bully squard (because of the missing context), that is not the same as saying THEY WERE.

It is already bad enough that you assume that the Survivors are a Bully Squad instead of just assuming that the Killer might just be like that.

And it is sadly a recurring theme in this forum that Killers have to be cute little angels who only act like this if those evil pesky survivors did something to them.

  • Blast Mine does not only blind, but it also stuns the Killer. Lightborn does not prevent the Killer from getting stunned.

  • You should not expect that people will stay if you dont bring an Event Offering as Killer during the event. Survivor Queues are basically instant, they dont really lose much when quitting in Loading Screen.

And from my experience, if a Killer does not bring an Event Offering, this Killer is usually very sweaty and not fun to play against at all, since they are the kind of person to not bring an Event Offering because Survivors would benefit from them, while enjoying to see 4 Offerings on the Survivor Side.

You will most likely get less DCs in Loading Screen after the event is over.

  • I dont think the grind is that bad anymore. Getting Perks on Characters is now way faster, there are more BPs, Bloodweb-Items cost even less BPs and there are promotions and weekly gifts.

It's exactly same because both is just wasting times, Hell, killer slug is more justifiable because sometime hooking can net in losing, it has strategical value

    Staying on gate doesn't

Nonsense. Letting people bleed out for 4 minutes (which is the point of OP) has no strategical value whatsoever.

  • @bornagain234 said:

Its as reportable as 4 healthy survivors sitting at the end of the exit gate teabagging until the last microsecond is.

First of all, this is whataboutism.
Second, those are not really compareable. The EGC timer is only half as long as the Bleedout timer. Furthermore, at this point, the Killer also had a full game to play. Slugging 4 people at 5 Gens is not "playing the game" for Survivors.

And the Killer also can decide at any point to force the Survivors out. They dont have to wait the 2 minutes. There is no way for Survivors to speed up the Bleedout.

  • @KatsuhxP said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/419012/so-this-isnt-reportable

I don't see why you should let all survivors bleed out in that situation, the only times I ever did that were on swfs sending me to badham or something like that. But that's entirely their own fault sending me on this horrible map and still losing xD

Well the bleedout button would be nice and is requested since a while, but I don't think any of them will care about the bloodpoints xD

Considering they are on Midwich, it could easily be a Nurse who went to this Map.

Some people are just like that. Even tho it would be better if they would just uninstall, because if the only reason to play is to make it as miserable as possible for the other side, they should play single player games.

  • I think for an event the Remote Hooking is fine (when it works and is not bugged…). I dont want to have it in normal gameplay, because Killer/Survivor-Interaction is important and remote hooking removes a part of it.

The only problem I have with it during the event is that you can be hooked in the Basement. Usually Basement Hooks are fine because the Killer needs to sacrifice a few seconds to use it, but not when they are remote hooking someone into the basement.

  • I think they are often done when not needed. I dont mind a tunneling or camping Killer when it helps them win while they are about to lose.

However, nobody can tell me that they really NEED to tunnel at 5 Gens. They WANT to tunnel, but they dont need it.

  • Hopefully. People overreacting should not make the Perk less playable. Not sure if I will use it, since I use BT and both have pros and cons, but I think BT will be more useful since it also works against the strong Killers, when they want to camp and tunnel.

whenever people say she has nothing to do with horror, I roll my eyes so hard

Dweet addressed this stupid attitude best:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/A20ONJXQCLSA/image.png

also tomb raider is heavily intwined in horror:

    https://x.com/dvveet/status/1805469881468408131

Yeah… Some Horror elements do not turn a franchise into Horror.

  • She has nothing to do with Horror. And for me, after Nicolas Cage, the weirdest addition to DBD. And since I dont really have anything to do with Tomb Raider (I played some games, but it is not really my favorite franchise), I will just get her, bring her to P9 and then probably never touch her again.

Her Perks are also not good, so there is not much going on for her unless you like the character/franchise.

But it makes it a bit worrysome for me, because the addition of characters like Nicolas Cage or Lara Croft can mean that they are willing to add ANYONE at this point.

  • I guess they will drop in around 15 minutes when the PTB goes live, simply because it is a licensed Survivor and it should be released with a Trailer.

  • So you dont have to do all the Challenges to get everything. It is more relaxed if you only have to do the challenges you actually like. Also, some challenges can only be done in the Event Queue, so you will not be forced to participate in the event with the Bag of Tryks or the Invitations.

  • This is pure confirmation bias. You focus on those people who are Anon and toxic, but ignore that the majority who uses Anon mode is NOT toxic.

I have also seen plenty of people being toxic without being anonymous.

  • @VomitMommy said:

I would make chaos shuffle default modifier and just replace it whenever new modifier is created, or with some old one from time to time.

This would probably be the best solution. In their most recent survey they asked about Chaos Shuffle and one option was to make it a permanent mode.

But I just think that making it a permanent mode (without any switches), would result in the mode being empty after a while. Chaos Shuffle was fun for a few weeks, but I dont think I would have enjoyed it much longer.

If it would be the default modifier and then there is something new from time to time which replaces it, I think this would increase the longevity of the mode by a huge amount.

why should we gate keep other killers players from selecting the killer? My impression is that a lot of blight players switched to hillbilly because Blight became worse and Billy became better.

I start making a list where you quote me with things I did not say.

Where did I say that I wanted to gatekeep players from playing Billy? I only said that once a Killer becomes stronger and easier, more players play him.

  • @VomitMommy said:

Funny is it actually makes sense to me :D

If you had survivors complaining about seeing specific killer all the time (Wesker), it would make sense to increase pick rate for a killer, who is overall popular in the community on both sides, no?

It was pure sarcasm, nothing more.

  • You are 100% correct. Before the Buffs, Billy-players were just total Gigachads who did not really care too much about winning, most likely even 0 Slowdowns and who just wanted to get some Curves. But even then you can run into some pretty oppressive Billy-players, but this was fine, since they were good, but chilling.

Now that he is buffed, you get the more unpleasent Billy-players, those who stack Slowdown and use the mobility to rush back to the Hook to tunnel. In the end, he got stronger and easier to play, so the result is expected.

Still IMO one of the most enjoyable Killers to go against.

    @RedPoncho12 said:

good points made. Billy is fine

He can get some slight Nerfs IMO. Some things I have considered (as someone who played Billy for a very long time before the buff and even before introducing Overheat):

    • Removal of Cooldown Add-Ons —> Those are dumb and were one of the things which should have never existed and I am really unhappy that they brought them back. It makes missing with the Chainsaw too forgiving.
    • Cooldown on Overdrive —> Currently a Billy can benefit too much from leaving Chase, because Overdrive generates so quick. A small Cooldown before being able to generate Overdrive after being in Overdrive is warrented IMO. So that he has to spend a few seconds in "base form" (which is still super strong) before getting into Overdrive again.
    • Increase of Terror Radius —> At least in Overdrive he should have a larger Terror Radius. Wesker has 40m because his ability allows it to close the gap very quickly. With Billy the Survivor has like 1 second to react when starting to hear the Terror Radius, so 40m Terror Radius at least during Overdrive should be fine.

This just as a sidenote. I dont think Billy is in a bad spot or one of the Killers which is in need for a Nerf, but small Nerfs are warrented.

  • They never include a full list of Add Ons in Dev Updates (simply because they would be too long then). We will most likely see it in the Patchnotes OR on the PTB itself what the Add On does.

Usually Add Ons receive Nerfs if parts of their effects are incorporated into the Basekit or straight up Reworks. But they usually either say that they weaken the Add On due to the Basekit Changes or that they give it a new effect, but never what it will be, this will only be present in the Patchnots and/or PTB.

  • I honestly see more threads about people complaining about Survivors complaining about Hook Respawns than actual Survivors complaining about it.

  • Scourge Hooks are still Hooks, so they will come back. And they also stay Scourge Hooks. They glow white after a Survivor was sacrified and they also remain Scourge Hooks when sabotaged.

  • @Blueberry said:

In general it does. At end game with only 2 people I agree.

Slugging at end game with 2 people isn't a slug issue it's a hatch design issue.

The issue is that you did not read OPs post, thought that you write something clever (because for some reason you have to defend everything Killers do) and now notice that it was not clever.

  • @Blueberry said:

Pick up, carry, and hook wastes a ton of time and map pressure. If you want to be able to get out of games sooner would you be in favor of adding insta hooks then? Similar to the event ones. Then you get your hook instead of slug and the killer won't mind doing it since it's now time efficient.

This has nothing to do with slugging for the 4K.

  • Because tunneling is the best and easiest way to secure a win. The Survivors cannot come back from an early 3v1 (if the last remaining Survivors are not way better than the Killer aka basically a matchmaking issue).

So once the game is turned into a 3v1, the Killer can play "nice" aka farm BPs for themselves.

  • I mean, it is understandable. Good Chucky-players will obviously be able to use this drastically reduced Cooldown. But I would rather play against good Chucky-players who use their Slice&Dice often than the bad Chucky-players who just waited until a Pallet is dropped for a free hit.

I guess he means on steam? Or does dbd even have a list of blocked players? I do however think the block feature should have some impact, like at least blocking what that person says in post game chat, perhas even reducing the likeliness of being matched with that person (only when blocking a survivor playing with them as survivor…)

I agree with a full communication block. But I disagree when it comes to any form of Matchmaking. The DBD-Community is not mature enough to handle this kind of power.

Survivors don't have to hide if they're healthy either. You will most likely find the hatch / cover a lot of ground by simply holding W with the speed boost from the injury.

Also, that measly 10-15% faster movement speed is nothing compared to the 3rd person camera survivors have. Killers have to walk around and hope to get into the audio range of the hatch. It's very difficult to see it, and 9/10 times you find it with sound cues. Survivors? They can see it from a mile away. Of course, not everytime, but it's much more useful than the Killer's 10-15% movement speed advantage.

Even if not, so what? I get a 3k, then I should have a disadvantage at finding hatch? Why am I getting punished for playing well? I made this example before, but it's like a heart attack button that appears if you lose all 5 gens, and there's a 50% chance a random survivor will die to a heart attack because you found the button. Why am I losing a 4k because of some random 50/50 game mechanic that then leads to a 2 minute sweatfest of walking between 2 gates, trying to find an optimal spot and hoping that they aren't far enough to the point where you can't even hold W to one of them by the time it's open?

You dont have a disadvantage when finding Hatch. I already said - you are faster and dont have to hide. If it upsets that much (and the wall of text indicates it) if the Survivor got lucky after you clearly won the game, I think this is a "you"-problem.

  • @n000b51 said:

I play since a long time and yes I have 1.300 blocked players. On 60.000 it isn't so huge.
My pants smell like to other pants, just don't put your nose on it. But I'm convinced to be blocked by a relative amount of players. Because I sometimes fail in game, so I can understand some people avoid to play with me for the next. But I'm not rancorous yet even I can be angry in the moment…
    But enough spoke about me.

I still think a blocked list will be useful for players using it.

You know that blocking players does not remove the chance of them being in your game?

  • @TheRealConsent said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3746836#Comment_3746836

The Killer's favor? Are you high?

You need a 3k, then do a 50/50 game with a Survivor, then if you still win that 50/50 you have to hold 2 exit gates. Sometimes an exit gate is far enough from hatch that if the Survivor was camping it, they can open it by the time a Killer holds W all the way.

    The Killer's favor?????

Of course. The Killer moves faster and does not have to hide to find the Hatch. They have the bigger chance of finding it. The Survivor can only find the Hatch if they became lucky.

    @Topic:

No, this would just make Hatch Stand-Offs return in some way. If Exit Gates would be far away from each other, some Killers might just stand at the Open Hatch and wait instead of closing it.

And lets be real, if not all Gens are done and the Survivor got a lucky escape via Hatch, the Killer still won the game.

  • Pro: ez win. An early 3v1 is unwinnable for the Sruvivors.

Cons: Survivors will be meanies towards you in Chat :(

  • @[Deleted User] said:

I don't understand how takes like these form not even 6 months after Billy got buffed to the moon. You really have to not be paying attention

Simple. Survivors said they like to go against Billy, so the Devs buffed him so that more people play Billy. Totally survivor-sided.

  • I dont think that they would ever do that because this would make Circle of Healing even worse. I mean, all Boon-Perks are really bad, but if you put something better than the Aura Read on CoH on Illumination, you will have even less reason to run CoH while making Illumination barely more playable.

  • Do you have Crossplay disabled by any chance?

  • Yeah, some slight Nerfs are warrented. IMO those things can be looked at (not saying that all of them should come):

Cooldown Add Ons —> I still think that he should not have Cooldown Add Ons. Those were bonkers back then and one of the few things (aside from Chargetime) which should have been nerfed. He should sitll not have them back.

Cooldown after Overdrive —> Billy should have a slight Cooldown after being in Overdrive so that he does not generate Overdrive again immediatly. Currently you can farm it pretty good by leaving chase and it should be a bit less common. So that he has to spend a few seconds in his "base Form" without generating Overdrive, before getting it again.

Terror Radius Increase —> A reason why Wesker has 40m Terror Radius is that his abilities allows him to close distance very quickly. The same applies to Billy, even more I would say. While he has his Chainsaw, in Overdrive you have like 1 second to react after hearing his initial Terror Radius before he is on you. So I think at least during Overdrive he should have a bigger Terror Radius.

Maybe you don't remember, but I do: Iron Will was everywhere before the nerf. It was right below the big four (Borrowed Time, Decisive Strike, Adrenaline, Dead Hard) in terms of its usage and strength. Being completely silent when you're injured is a MASSIVE advantage in chase.

I'm guessing you don't play Killer much and don't understand just how much the Killer relies on sound, both to find survivors who are hiding and to keep track of where they are during a chase. With no sound cues, you can often just duck into a Killer's blind spot mid-chase and just like that, you're gone.

Ok, one last post, since I feel that you think you have a "Gotchya"-moment here:

I probably played more Killer than you have overall playtime. And of course I remember old Iron Will. But if you think that Iron Will with 100% Noise Reduction will be as popular as pre 6.1.0, you are delusional. The Downside of not working while exhausted still exists and this will prevent Iron Will from reaching old popularity. Exhaustion Perks are just better than Iron Will, nobody can really deny it.

So, last post for the Topic of Iron Will, you can keep your echo chamber and tell yourself how terrible the change is. :)

  • It would be great, but I doubt it. In the end, it might not even change much, her reputation is already completely at the bottom. They should have just put way more ressources into Reworking her after the went live (ideally they should have pushed her back, since the PTB-Feedback for her was also bad, but they probably wanted to appeal to the horny part of the DBD-Community) and offering a money back-option for those who dont like her.

Her latest Rework solved the greatest issue, yet she is still insanely unfun to go against and also to play. IMO the only time someone wants to play Skull Merchant if they a) REALLY like her or b) want to be annoying. I cannot see myself looking at my Killers and think "Woah, no I want to play a game of Skull Merchant, it will be fun."…

But yeah, overall, I really doubt something will happen.

it's the top 31st top picked perk, right above deliverance. well that's the first sign pick rate doesn't mean anything because a "worthless" perk can't be better than goddamn deliverance.

it's not a jack of all trades (will be after the buff) so if the purpose it serves doesn't appeal to people, they won't pick it. yes it doesn't help chases like other chase perks (exhaustion perks, resi etc) but saying it doesn't do its job and is absolutely worthless is just wrong. again, as much as you don't want to admit it, it helps with stealth and hovering for saves, it just doesn't make chases free and brainless like it used to.

I will just stop talking about Iron Will since it is pointless in this Killer Echo Chamber. I will just wait a few weeks and if the Devs dont chicken out, I will have my "told you so"-phase one or two weeks after the Patch goes live, when Iron Will is only a bit more popular and Killers will have no problem with dealing with Iron Will.

  • @Dreh said:

And why do you think meta perks are meta?

It will become meta again because it's extremely strong with or without the exhaustion function.

As for the Spirit, Cherry Blossom completely changes the gameplay, do you think it's fair to have to use an addon that makes Spirit another killer just to counter a broken survivor perk? I don't think so.

"fair to have to use an Add On". Yeah, poor Spirit, using one of her best Add Ons.

And no, the Perk will not be Meta. On almost all Survivors you have 1 Exhaustion-Perk. And those are the strongest Perks Survivors can have. Iron Will will be interesting for those who dont use Exhaustion-Perks, and this is really a minority.

  • @NerfDHalready said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3744667#Comment_3744667

saw you type that to another topic but didn't want to get too out of topic there but, doesn't reducing audio also reduce the distance the survivor can be heard from and how is that useless?

a stealth perk at the same time being a perfect chase perk that nullifies mind gaming is being overloaded, is the point. 75% is still good for stealthing or shadowing other people for saves and i think we should stop pretending that's worthless.

75% is worthless. 3% Pickrate shows that. If it would be a good Perk, it would be used more often. If you are not 100% silent with Iron Will, you can just equip a better Perk. Like an actual Chase Perk aka an Exhaustion-Perk, which you will not really be able to do with Iron Will even after the Buff.

  • @Dreh said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3746078#Comment_3746078

Exactly! Iron Will was nerfed because it was difficult for killers.

Iron Will was a crutch for survivors and carried a lot of matches. Why do you think they are "un-nerfing" the perk if it was nerfed for a reason? Because there are still people who don't know how to play without it.

Or because they finally tackle those Perks which got unneccessary Nerfs. Iron Will was not nerfed because it was too strong, it was nerfed to be removed from the Meta. Especially Perks which got Double-Nerfs were just changed to "shake up the meta". Now they are partially reverting the Iron Will-Nerf.

But since it is only a partial Nerf and Exhaustion-Perks are way more popular, you wont run into games where everyone is running Iron Will.

And when it comes to Spirit, as I said, she now has a Tool to counter Iron Will without using a Perk Slot (and IMO equipping an Add On is far better than giving up a Perk Slot for a mediocre at best Perk). And since the only Killer which actually used Strider has a different Tool now, we can change Stridor to something which can be considered on more Killers.

  • Jeepers Creepers will never be in the game, mainly due to the disgusting things the director did. And I think the backlash which would follow is not really worth it.

  • I mean, for something like that a bad game would be better.

But I highly dislike Lopro Chains and the Vecna-Perk, because it makes you way too scared of Pallets (because you want to avoid the longer stun AND want to get value out of Lopro Chains). And this shows sometimes in the replay and was already pointed out by HerInfernalMajesty.

I also have to agree to using the Hammer at some point. Not saying that you should turn into a M1lly, but if it takes longer for the Chainsaw to land a Hit, there is no issue with getting an M1. Faking the Chainsaw to make the Survivor run through the Pallet instead of dropping it (especially if they know you have Lopro Chains) and then M1ing them works.

Not saying to not go for Chainsaws, the more the better. But if they would have been more efficient on Gens this could have been a way harder game.

  • @Dreh said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3746073#Comment_3746073

The same applies to the new Iron Will, which requires a total of 0% skill from the survivor (:

Thats not my point. My point is that this is a Tool old Spirit did not have. But apparently I missed the Patchnotes that Iron Will now makes Survivors invincible.

Damn, how Killers ever were able to win games with old unnerfed Iron Will around. They must be gods.

  • I only see it on Survivor the whole time. And understandable, the Killer abilities during the event are far better than the Survivor ones.

Makes me also play less Killer during the event, because I get less BPs AND have (slightly) longer queue times.

  • @Dreh said:

    https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3746070#Comment_3746070

The new Spirit needs Stridor against a 100% Iron Will. If it were the old Spirit, I'd agree, because it would be a balanced mindgame for both her and the survivor. Now that the survivor knows exactly where she is and Spirit won't hear him, Stridor is necessary.

Spirit has Cherry Blossom which basically plays the game for her.
