the thing is this would counter bite the bullet and otr as well and those perks don't need this kind of nerf. If anything this should really show why 100% iw is a bad idea and iron will if nessicary to buff should go no higher than 90%.
Anything below 100% is trash and not worth using. Unless you go against low MMR Killers who use their speakers for Audio.
@Topic:
I have written it years ago, I would rather see Stridor getting a new effect. Aside from Spirit, no Killer will run Stridor (even back then Killers did not run Stridor (aside from Spirit), even when Iron Will was at its strongest). And a Perk which is only used on exactly one Killer is not really good to begin with. I would rather see it having an effect which is worth taking on more than one Killer.
-
Most of the time it is up to the Killer if they created a Deadzone when it comes to Hooks. So yes, there is some form of skill expression, even if it is low. But not every Killer realizes that there is only one Hook in an area and still use that Hook instead of taking a few seconds to carry the Survivor closer to the middle of the Map.
However, I think that the Devs could have better solved it with reducing Hook RNG. Having 1 Hook in an area and then 3 Hooks in the next area (which are easily campable) is not good. Then there should be 2 Hooks in each area. So a reduction of RNG would have been the more elegant solution.
But overall, not opposed to the change, Hook Deadzones were rare anyway and getting hooked is still better than having to bleedout.
(Now, if they just can remove Hooks which spawn upstairs and add Hooks Downstars in the same area…)

Otr activates on a stationary target who gives off a loud noise notification, whereas IW activates while a survivor is mobile, speedboosted and you are on animation cooldown.
IIn Terms of tunneling you have a higher chance of escape in chase with Iron Will
Still, there is no problem for the Killer to follow that Survivor, because they just injured them. Other forms of tracking are also still active (footsteps, even if some people claim they were not there, scratchmarks, Pools of Blood).

Well IW was bugged for years prior to the change. While grunts of pain were supposed to be suppressed breathing was not, but both ended up being muted.
So take a Meg, the loudest mouth breather at the time, slap on Iron Will and she is dead silent when injured. The only thing we wanted back then was to fix the silent breathing.
I dont think this was a Bug. Injured Survivors dont make breathing sounds, they are replaced with grunts of pain.
-
It apparently only counts the Base-BP you get. But the progress Bar still shows all of them. Kinda confusing.
-
It will not be "old" Iron Will since it will deactivate when exhausted. And I dont really think that it will become Meta.
It will be used more, but not to the extend it was used before 6.1.0. At least it is not pointless anymore and an option for those who dont use Exhaustion Perks.

So the counter is exhaustion. Thank you for answering the question I didn't know it worked like that. As for your question I simply said I don't tunnel because I don't have an experience to tell you why that specific scenario works out that way. Perhaps people are hooked in dead zones so there is clear line of sight and no resources due to bad map RNG. I wouldn't know, cuz that's not how I play. However, due to bad audio coding by BHVR, wonky scratch marks (also bad coding), and experiencing old Iron Will, I have made wrong guesses that have extended chases significantly. Just not too excited about it is all.
Exactly. Before Iron Will got nerfed, it was just 100% Noise Reduction. In 6.1.0 it got a Double Nerf - 75% reduction of grunts of pain and not working at all when Exhausted.
This Double Nerf made the Perk basically non-existent. And now they are reverting one part of the Nerf, and IMO it is the part which makes more sense. Because 75% reduction might as well be nothing, the Killer will still hear you. Harder, but will still hear the Survivor. So you might just not use Iron Will at all (which many players do).
With the revert the Perk becomes an option for people who dont run Exhaustion Perks. So more variety (something Killer players want to have when talking about Survivor Builds). And players were fine with tracking Survivors before 6.1.0, when Iron Will was at its strongest. They will also be fine nowadays, it should be even easier due to more tracking options and the fact that the Survivor will most likely not run any Exhaustion Perk when using Iron Will.

What's tiring is people avoiding the initial conversation by starting a new one. But if being right is that important to you, having a conversation with you is pointless because you are simply listening to respond instead of to hear.
I was simply asking you the question why OTR is not good and Killers can easily tunnel a person with OTR, when 100% Noise Reduction is so strong. And yet I did not get an answer aside from "I dont tunnel".
The answer is simply - the Forums are once again throwing a tantrum for nothing. When it goes live, people will realize that
- Iron Will will be less used because it still does not work while exhausted (and Exhaustion-Perks are popular)
- Iron Will is far weaker than it was before 6.1.0, simply because we have more ways of tracking now and it still has the other downside
-

Well, I don't tunnel. So, considering this perk hard counters spirit once again, what is the counterplay of the perk that makes it fair?
That you dont tunnel is not part of the topic. I was asking a question. If 100% noise reduction would be that strong, why can Killers easily tunnel Survivors who have Off the Record? Which also prevents Aura read?
You know, it gets tired to be right all the time on this forum. -
@Princeharlequinhq said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3744667#Comment_3744667
The problem with the perk is there is no actual counterplay to its effect. I guess maybe spies, so if they happen to be near but disturb a crow you get a notification, but then you are blind and can't hear because of the visual notification. Pair it with lucky break and overcome and boom, no chases will be taking place after the first hit.
Then why is OTR so bad? Killers have no problem at all tunneling a Survivor with OTR. If removal of grunts of pain would be that strong, they would not have such an easy time tunneling.
What now happens is the same what always happens - Forums throw a tantrum and in a few weeks, nobody cares. Complaints about Sabotage are already gone, because it does nothing. Iron Will will be weaker than pre 6.1.0… We will now see a few weeks of complaints and after a week after it hit live, nobody will talk about it anymore.

The issue is breathing sounds were tied to the old version of iron will, making an injured survivor quieter than a healthy one. If this hasn't been fixed, it's a problem. Also footsteps are notoriously inconsistent, sometimes being completely silent when separated by a thin structure.
This coupled with Distortion is also going to be a nightmare for solo queue with rat teammates unhooking you and vanishing into the ether leaving the killer with little choice but to tunnel.
This would almost be an actual argument, if Killers would not be able to tunnel through Off the Record (which hides grunts of pain AND Auras) very reliable.
-
So being on Controller means that someone should not be able to play SIngularity?
He is unreasonable hard to play. I am all for complex Killers, especially if the strongest Killer is not as complex as others which are (far) weaker. But the effort you have to put into Singularity does not match the outcome in the slightest.

I dont think Flip Flop is as unhealthy as Boil Over.

@Jacknalls_Paw said:
At this point I think the reduction of hooks is needed, or at least increasing the distance between them.
I dont think so.
What should be reduced is the RNG for Hooks. There should be SOME RNG, but not as extreme as it can be currently. You sometimes have one Hook in a huge area and thats it and sometimes you have 3 Hooks so close together that the Survivors might be holding hands on them.
So the solution should be to have 2 Hooks which allow the Killer to hook even if one of them is gone or already "occupied", but also makes saves still possible and does not grant the Killer insane pressure just because they got lucky with Hook Spawns.
A good example for this is Midwich. Sometimes you have one Hook in a hallway and sometimes you have 3 or 4 in the same hallway. (Because of this I think they should remove Hook-RNG from Midwich, because the RNG for Pallets and so is also not really there, so making Midwich more consistent is the way to go)
In general, I think they can reduce the RNG on Maps. RNG was important when there were only 3 Realms with 4 or 5 Maps each. Now we have so many Realms and Maps that it is not really needed to have a huge RNG-factor to make games feel different.
@Topic:
I dont really see a connection here. And I dont think Flip Flop needs changes. But I am always for a Boil Over-Rework, since the Perk is just weak unless it is used in a specific Build to be annoying.

I don't think people realize how impactful this change can be in the current survivor meta. The current meta is already hold W until completely zoned. With Iron Will, you remove any audio input the killer had to tell that a survivor was even still at the tile.
Since it will still not work when exhausted, Iron Will will be far less popular than pre 6.1.0… Exhaustion Perks are still some of the most common Perks used, so people who use an Exhaustion-Perk will either not run Iron Will or get drastically reduced value from it.

I don’t ever run exhaustion perks so this doesn’t bother me that they made it counterintuitive to run it with those type of perks.
Same here. I even said that they can just make Iron Will cause perma-exhaustion to make the Survivor decide if they want to use Iron Will for 100% Noise Reduction or Exhaustion Perks.
But this does roughly the same since you cannot really use Iron Will effective when using an Exhaustion Perk. So I doubt it will be as popular as before, but more popular and especially more useful.

75% was enough and underrated. overnerfed yes, but i'd much rather they removed the exhaustion part instead.
75% is not enough, since every Killer will still be able to hear you. And if they can hear you with 75%, there is no point in running Iron Will.
Unless you go against Killers who dont use a Headset.
-
Complete silence was not absurd before. The Perk just got overnerfed because it was used often to ShAkE Up tHe mEtA…
Anything below 100% noise reduction is just pointless and you might just equip another Perk than Iron Will.
-
The best thing for me in this Patch. And it is still weaker than before, since it still disables when exhausted.
But anything below 100% noise reduction is just pointless. (Unless you play against a Killer without Headphones, but come on..)

Yeah, it would be nice if they would have added an effect to those Perks that they ignore Hemorrhage. The Perks are niche at best (even with the Buffs), but Hemorrhage just hinders them too much.
-
Which is fine.
But giving those Perks some love is appreciated.

I get what you mean, but you're bringing up the most insignificant bugs ever. Getting stuck on hills? I don't think a single person was affected by this more than once (if at all). Unsnuffable boons/Uncleanseable hexes? That's literally due to poor map geometry and object spawns, not related to a boon or a hex.
Smaller bugs, like the ones you mentioned, make sense to be lower priority. However, there are bugs that have been affecting specific killers for literal years and haven't even been acknowledged yet. For instance, the double fatigue bug, Nurse's nauseating camera after blinking, Slinger's harpoon registering a hit but not chaining/injuring, Xeno's whip going through a survivor model and not injure, etc.
Yet, the moment one of these killers has a bug that affects the other side, it gets fixed in the next patch. I don't think you need a tinfoil hat to clearly see where the priority lies.
People with tinfoil hats usually say they "clearly" see something…
But I guess there is no point in discussing with you. If it makes you happy, believe whatever you want to believe. Such a negative mindset seems to be a big joy.

@PreorderBonus said:

Ah, of course. I'm sure they've spent the last three years extensively researching how to fix the bug. I'm sure a lot of progress has been made, but they're not quite there yet. I'll be eagerly waiting!
Also, I'm pretty sure it's just a coincidence that killer bugs affecting survivors get fixed quickly, while those that affect only killers get ignored. I'm not that conspiranoic.
You should remove your tinfoil hat. There are Bugs on both sides which are fixed quickly and there are Bugs on both sides which take ages to fix.
And I guess instances where Survivors got stuck on Hills on certain maps (which was in the game for weeks and only affected Survivors) or Maps being killswitched because Boons could not be snuffed out, but other Maps not being killswitched when Hexes were unable to cleanse were just a feverdream I had.
-
No.
Just some Bugs are easier to fix than others.
But if it makes you happy - yes, the Devs totally favor Survivors and therefore they only fix Bugs which affect Survivors negatively. /s

Pig is seemingly on a watch list since her last update that was almost a nerf.
I don't expect any changes to her any time soon, and am frankly glad about that.
"almost a nerf" due to a Timer Increase, which got reverted, because people who are bad at Pig see her Headtraps as her only power.
@Topic:
Because you cannot just compare Killer A to Killer B and say that Killer A got buffed and ask then, why Killer B is not buffed.
If we look at Pig and Dredge and your proposals, it sounds like those Killers will be pretty hard to buff.
Curving with Billy takes a bit of practice and even when in Overdrive, I dont even think that it is easier for him to get Hits, because you might end up taking the curve wider than you actually would, which would make it harder and not easier. PIgs Dash on the other hand is easier to use and you have to be careful to not make it a guaranteed Hit. Same with the Cooldown, it should not be the case that a Pig basically can miss the Dash and then instantly M1 the Survivor.
When it comes to Dredge, I would agree with the faster Teleport (even tho it would make Nightfall relatively weaker, because I dont think his Teleport in Nightfall would need any buffs), but the better chase-power would make him even more of a Lose/Lose-Situation when playing against Dredge. Because if it gets better to place a Remnant at a Loop and just either teleport to it or cancel it, it would just lead to Hits which cannot be avoided.
Freddy deserves a complete Rework. Making his current powers stronger while still being so braindead to play would also not really make him more popular (aside for those who really want to play an easy Killer) and also more unfun to go against.

Myers himself is weak, but his Tombstone Piece is busted. So it is understandable to expect a Tombstone Piece, especially if Myers either took long to tier up.

it is not really popular. I don't this will ever be popular purely because… the counter is so easy and the information is told to the survivor that the perk is active and than half survivor just run syringe instant-heals which delete the item anyway. Like you can drop your item at the start of the trial, see that the perk is active. than just drop med-kit in non-aura zone. franklin is pointless perk when survivor plays around it and this perk won't do anything if the player just deletes their own item with syringe or heals/uses toolboxes smartly.
the items that franklin is good at countering is Key and Flashlights but at same time, survivor can just put flashlight in the corner of the map and barely anyone runs keys.
more popular (in a sense of gaining popularity) =/= popular.
Not the first time you either misread something or made something up what I said.

Obviously diehard Killer Mains will defend the Perk. This just shows that the Perk is overtuned.
So, if someone says that a perk isn't that strong, that actually means it's overtuned? Wow. 261 perks in the game and all of them are overtuned then. That's some next level logic.
I mean, I could make a post about how No Mither would somehow be unfair and some hardcore survivor main would say that it's fine or even weak (which for the record I agree with), but applying that logic here, it would mean that the perk is in fact overtuned.
It is more the way HOW it is defended. But yeah, it is a bad combo which is getting more popular, because we all know that Killers like to run Meme-Perks, sure. :)
-
Obviously diehard Killer Mains will defend the Perk. This just shows that the Perk is overtuned. That people call it weak is just a joke.
I usually bring Items I find to the corners of the Map, but the more it is used, the more the gameplay revolves away from the main Objective. And doing a "side objective" of basically delivering Items into a Corner where they dont provide Aura Read all the time is also neither healthy nor fun.

Why people think survivors abilities in event are weak?
Blocking window is very annoying on some maps.
Quiet mode is amazing overall. I get to experience old Iron Will as Jeff main again...
Pallet is better was SWF, but if you use it for pallet saves, there is not much killer can do, if you time it well. Otherwise it is decent unless killer has Enduring...
You are the only person who is using the word "weak" here.
The point is that the Killer powers are stronger. And this cannot really be denied. (e.g. breaking a Pallet remotely is way stronger than putting up an Event Pallet)
-
I think you need to differentiate between "winning" and "stomping". Saying "gg" first when winning a game is not really bad. But if you are stomping the other side and it is clear that they did not have a good game, I see "gg" as more of an issue, basically being a bad winner.
-
Funny thing is that all his 3 issues are not really valid.
Issue 1 - Unfun Killer Builds/Strategies - those would be the case even if Distortion would not be a thing. Before Distortion was buffed, the main Builds players used were Slowdown and before it was buffed there was also tunneling. Thinking that this will go down is delusional, it has been proven multiple times that incentives (nerfing a Perk which would make Aura Reads more viable would be an incentive) dont work.
Issue 2 - Passive gameplay - he at least admits it himself, but it would not really change much. Someone who runs Distortion and is overly stealthy/passive will not just suddenly become someone who takes every chase they can get. The same players would still be passive, probably in lockers most of the time. I mean, Killers would still get something out of it, because those Survivors would also be less efficient on Gens, but it would not really solve the issue that they are passive.
Issue 3 - SWF/Solo-Difference - While this point is most likely the most valid, it is strange that he talks about competent Survivors and yet fails to realize that those competent Survivors also dont need that much information to know the Perks of the Killer. And while 1 Distortion provides information, it does not really change that the other 3 players dont have Distortion and therefore either have to play around it (while being less efficient on Gens) or will have to deal with being seen by the Killer.
But I guess I am wrong because Otzdarva cannot be wrong.
-
I guess it is a possibility, but the license holders would still have to approve them. And I guess that the freedom is limited. For characters from original chapters, they can basically do everything they like, but when they are part of a licensed chapter, I think that the license holders want to have them a specific aesthetic.
So while I think it would be possible for them to receive Skins, I think that the freedom will be really limited.

There was that one guy who mind-gamed himself so hard he looped his own imagination around a hooked survivor for long enough to activate AFC. This was right after the system hit live
Yep, And they called it "Survivors abusing the feature".
@Topic:
IMO those cases which lead to things being nerfed are only the tip of the iceberg. Because everything was possible before. You could camp before, just at some point Killer started to do it more and more. Every Killer was able to hold a 3-Gen from the start, just Knight and Skull Merchant were the best at it. And stacking Slowdown was always possible, but with more and more Perks coming which can provide Slowdown, Builds would feature more of them.
So the things which got nerfed or changed were not because of specific things (e.g. Knight and Skull Merchant), but because there were problems which already were around for some time, but got really obvious due to certain things making them more obvious.
-
Did they have the Protective Gloves-Add On? This helps to break Hooks without notifying the Killer, because what you described does not really sound like something which should happen from just one Petrified Oak (probably even with 4 it is unlikely).
Could also be possible that the Basement was in the Main Building, which might prevent Hooks from spawning above it.

slowdown perks only gain value if they're stacked otherwise they're too weak. so it is almost like your disappointed when the perk archetype gains value. Often, the perk archetype also only tends to have great impact when it is the same type of slowdown stacked. that is something i have noticed as well.
This logic also applies to toolboxes where 1 toolbox does little but a stacked team with toolboxes does a lot. This logic is also applied with killer haste perks where a small amount of haste has low impact but a large amount stacked is strong.
Thats why I said: "But ideally there is a range of good Slowdown-Perks, which just cannot be stacked with each other.", basically that the individual Slowdown-Perks can be strong on their own with only investing one or two Slots at max, but cannot really be stacked.
An example like this would have been Ruin and PGTW. When both are up, you can have value of Ruin, but PGTW cannot be used. Obviously those got stacked as well after a while (when Ruin first got reworked, many players dropped either Ruin or PGTW), because you will get value out of PGTW when Ruin is gone, but something like this is way more bearable than having 4 Slowdown-Perks stacked together.
And if the Devs find ways to make stacking Slowdown impossible, Perks which recently got nerfed can be buffed again. But since this is not the case, they basically have to nerf them individually, which sucks for players who used only one or maybe two Slowdown-Perks, but is needed for those who stacked four of them.

To be fair, a lot of posts must not mean anything. But yeah, most likely it means that the person is also playing the game for a long time and therefore they are most likely not on low MMR. But things like this happened in the past as well, I remember someone saying that I must be low Rank and even a Screenshot did not convince them, because it might not be me (despite having my name on the Screenshot as well). 😅

it is weird because they add secondary objective for survivor to use in background player and FTP+Buckle up then nerf those perk to the ground such that they're not worth putting into a load out.
Probably because they thought they went way too far with it. Personally, I never had a problem with BGP or with FTP+Buckle Up, because a failed attempt (and those indeed happened as well) gave a lot of value to the Killer. But I can understand that it can be frustrating if the Killer does not even have to be in the same postcode as the Survivor to be vulnerable to a Flashlight or Pallet Save.
-
Slowdown itself is not that much of an issue. Stacked Slowdown is an issue. And sadly there is currently no way to prevent this, Killers can still stack Pain Res and PGTW and both have the same activation condition. Then there is Grim Embrace, which also just requires to hook a Survivor. And Deadlock, which does not require input at all.
All good Perks which are totally fine on their own, but become too much when used with 3 or 4 of them. Add to this things like Mangled Add Ons and you have even more Slowdown.
And as long as BHVR cannot prevent Killers from stacking Slowdown, the only way to combat this is to nerf the Slowdown-Perks, which makes them less useful on their own, but also lowers their strength when stacked. But ideally there is a range of good Slowdown-Perks, which just cannot be stacked with each other.

You don't care because you don't use it, but the point is to have it used against you by a 4man. Also, it's a change that purely buffed SWFs without changing soloQ much, so they actively buffing the strongest role in the game withe addressing the SWF vs soloQ issue, just showing how far they are from actually understanding the state their game is at the moment.
The thing is, they try to give Survivors alternatives aside from just sitting on a Gen. They removed Background-Player and FTP/Buckle Up, now they added sabotage as something to do for Survivors aside from doing Gens. (Yes, they did not remove it, but they nerfed the Perks in a way that they are not really worth using anymore)
And this is the closest they can do for a secondary Objective. And it promotes Killer/Survivor-Interaction.

Well, Otz usually supports everything the devs do, whatever it might be, he even supports that 60% target killrate ridiculousness. If even someone who is always in favor of the devs' actions is concerned, it really might tell something.
As I said, Otz often says he is "worried" about certain things, mainly on Survivor Side and they turn out to be nothing.
I mean, I personally dont even care about Sabo, I am not using it, because it is still too weak to be viable. But I just hate this overreaction all the time when anything on Survivor Side is buffed, even if it turns out that it is still irrelevant. (And IMO weak Sabotage is good, because hooking is a basic concept of the game. And curren Sabotage is still weak and I am fine with it)

Honestly, I would just play Myers with Fragrant Tuft of Hair and the Memorial. Myers might be a weak Killer, but it is really easy to get constant exposed hits.
Not the strongest, but at least you dont need more Setup than just stalking. I think 4 Hits with NOED or having to play Trickster with Starstruck will be harder.
If you dont have Myers and only the options mentioned, Ghostface is probably your best bet.

Maybe you are playing at extremely low MMR literally no one bother to play seriously, we never know
Ah, the classic. When there is no argument the other side has to be low MMR. In a game where nobody can actually see their own MMR.
But yeah, you all must be at Gigachad-MMR and I am at the minimum MMR. This is the explanation.

Majority of people agree with otz opinions which is why its treated like gospel just cause your a hater doesn't mean hes wrong
I am not a Hater. But I just dont blindly follow the popular content creator. I have 9,5k hours in DBD, I think I am able to build my own opinion on the game without the help of Otz.

Even Otz hates these sabo changes shows how insanely these buffs are
Ah yes, because if Otz says something, this is absolute gospel. Otz is "worried" about like 50% of the Survivor-Changes and is almost never right.

Oh yeah the good ol "i don't see it it doesnt exist"
It is just if you people get Sabo-Squads so often, it would be very strange if I never encountered Sabotage.
