It can be removed. The work put into it was wasted anyway, they put work into something which barely happened at all. Now it is just more frustrating than before to see the Killer camping you and having a bar which does not fill up.
Actual facecamping almost never happened, so there is not really a point why the feature was implemented in the first place.
(Even tho, I guess if they would remove it tomorrow, we would see more facecamping because Killers would suddenly do it since they would not have any consequences)
-
99% certain this is just a Bug. The Patch released with a lot of them, this is most likely one of them.

That's literally every soloq games, not testing that situation seems rather stupid
If you start testing for this, you can test so many other things. As I said, it is unreasonable.

I still do not understand how a bug like this even happens without anybody noticing before releasing the update, you'd think if they're charging 10$+ for skins at least the game would be decent quality and polished, but no. Sadly it seems that this game is following the Apex Legends route, milk money from cosmetics while neglecting the gameplay.
"I still do not understand how a bug like this even happens without anybody noticing before releasing the update,"
Because it is unreasonable to test everything. Or would you have had the idea to test if in a regular game if someone dies and then leaves the Endscreen, if the Gen Count then gets bugged? Most likely not.

they could have just left it alone
Why is it such an issue for you?
There is no need at all to go beyond Tier 85, because from that point onwards, it is only BPs.
I finish the Rift usually shortly before Tome Level 3 releases. So that means that all Challenges from Level 3 and Level 4, as well as all Rift Fragment-Login Rewards, all Codes for Rift Fragments and every event which has double Rift Fragments as well as my regular playtime dont count for the Rift. With the change it counts towards the Rift for a few BPs.

You can tell definitively if the killer has it or not just by dropping your item at the start of the game. There's not really any "might" about it.
So I should give the Killer Lethal Pursuer as well?

Except that Solo players don't stick around when they die. They move on to the next match. I stopped playing Killer yesterday. No one was tunneled. No one was camped. But the people who died, left. Thus the Gens started popping at accelerated rates. It isn't an anti-tunneling technique because it isn't based on tunneling. It is based on the Survivor not sticking around in the lobby. It doesn't care if the person was tunneled or not. It needs to be fixed and pronto.
Man, it was a joke. lol.

i've encountered the same bug with kate and other survivors as well ive opened a bug report as well so all we can do is hope in the next patch update they fix this issue because ive died multiple times because the beam goes straight to the ground
Now, thats a necropost. The issue is under Known Issues:

Under certain circumstances, using a Flashlight will incorrectly cause it to aim at the ground when used.
And is being investigated.

So make the perk literally useless by itself?
IMO the idea is good. Not showing the Aura anymore when the Item has no charges. I would keep the Auto-Drop and also add a flat amount of Aura read to Weave Attunement so that the Perk is useful on its own all the time.

Honestly if the idea that you can't force people to play out a match and that's why we can't do anything about hook suicides, then the pre-game lobby should show SWF groups so players can decide before the match begins if they want to play it out.
With your logic it would be totally fine to show the Killer pre-match. Then players can decide before if they want to play against a Nurse or a Skull Merchant instead of doing Hook Suicides.

Any reason why you call nonsense? Or is it just biased views? I'm only saying what I heard happen, not encountered it myself because I refuse to play until the bug is resolved. But it does seem perfectly plausible, definitely something that could be controlled by survivors and based on my experience of the sheer quantity of toxic survivors using bugs and glitches previously.
If your argument for it being nonsense is based on blind support for swf and nothing else then it does invalidate your "nonsense" comment
I would like to point out, I heard this happen from survivors claiming they are doing it...
If "I have heard of this" is an argument than "I have never heard of this before" is an argument as well, lol.
Besides, I thought SWF are OP and win every game anyway?
-
This would be insanely bad. You would need to hit two projectiles to injure them and then have to down them with an M1. And on top of that, if you hit them with a projectile, they are probably far away, gaining even more distance with the Speedboost when getting injured. Which you would have to catch up to M1 them.

I have heard this bug already being exploited. Swf teams of 4 going into matches basically taking it in turns of 1 of them taking the fall so the rest can auto gen to get the wins.
Can't say I'm surprised, almost every bug gets exploited to some degree but like others, I'm surprised a bug of this seriousness still hasn't been fixed.
I call nonsense on this one. But of course SWF has to be the biggest evil once again.

Your Bug Report was marked as a Duplicate. Meaning there was already another Bug Report before yours.
People only feel ignored if they put in the minimum effort and think that they are the only one raising a problem.

"So, is nobody going to talk about the current gen bug and/or feature that is currently plagueing the game?"
If you would have used the search function you would have seen that it was mentioned a couple of times.
They also have a status report on Twitter:
https://x.com/DeadbyDaylight/status/1813627755311034785
Where the issue is mentioned and the goal is to fix it in the next Hotfix.
And there is a section in the Forums about it:
-
- Weak but fun, easily.
- Hopefully neither of them, lol. But Forever Freddy, at least I got to tell myself how bad the player is when he needs to play the easiest Killer in the game in such a way (which was the case back then).
- P100 Squad. I dont really see what is so special about them, P100s are not rare nowadays. You probably go against a P100-Squad every game, just not on their P100s.
- Trapper with his best Build. He is at least playing DBD.

Iron Will seems heavily overrated on here. I'm not seeing it in my killer games so I tried playing with it as survivor all afternoon and quickly realized the thing that made old Iron Will so insane was the ability to gain distance with an exhaustion perk and then hide while making no noise. As it is now it's a perfectly fine perk but I'm hesitant to call it a meta perk, just another tool for the distortion rats tbh.
Basically this. I am legit the only Survivor who was using Iron Will in both my Survivor and Killer games. And I got really good value from it twice, one time when I was crouching in a Corner and a Trapper was setting up a Trap right next to me and the other time when an Oni was collecting Bloodorbs while directly looking at me (he really sucked them off me and did not see me for some reason).
But this was clear, people wont really drop their Exhaustion-Perks for Iron Will.

Oh, I love that piece of data. That's even better than the 48% escape rate of 4-man SWFs at high MMR for shutting down the high MMR impossible narrative.
Granted, the data is skewed not everyone is getting hooked 3 times, and a lot of those chases start out injured or are survivors getting hit while bodyblocking, but still, it's a far cry from 'I get looped for 3 gens every game so survivors need to be nerfed.' The important thing is that it's not significantly higher than average universal chase time. 1:00 vs 1:06 is not statistically significant.
I'm weirdly happy about the GG and the thumbs up stats, though I shudder to think at the stats for salt (or how many posts ended up censored.)
"The important thing is that it's not significantly higher than average universal chase time. 1:00 vs 1:06 is not statistically significant."
Yeah, my thoughts. So the people who say they go against the absolute gods of the game and are at some gigachad MMR will have Survivors who are slightly better than average.
I have never given a thumbs up btw. Not because I hate all the players I went against, but just because it does nothing.

So far, I really dislike how you have to filter just to see the ones you own. I like the idea of the characters I don't own having their prices on them, but it shouldn't be the same as the shop UI. The ones you own should always be at the top of the list - it's just tedious the way it is now.
They put the new characters on top so that you see that you down own them and are more inclined to buy them. In general, the new UI is fully designed to make you spend more money on the game. The goal was not to give improvements to the player, the goal is to trick the player into buying stuff.
@Topic:
As basically everyone has said - it is awful. And it is the same as changing the UI in Trials - someone with years of experience thought it looks good. But here it is also sinister, because it is designed to go directly to the wallets of the players.
And the worst thing for me - 0 communication at all from the Devs. They dont seem to be open to feedback when it comes to money.
-
From what I understood, not sacrificed, but leaving the Trial after dying. So if Survivors stay around until the end, nothing changes.
Anyway, this is actually a useful Anti-Tunnel Mechanic. The best and probably only useful they ever implemented.

I absolutely understand that it's frustrating to face issues like these and I can only offer my apologies. We'd like nothing more than for your matches to go smoothly. These issues were spotted after the update went live, we did not choose to release the update knowing that they were there.
Yes, we do have a QA team and they catch quite a bit. Unfortunately certain issues only appear in specific circumstances (such as this one which only happens when certain perks are equipped), so they may slip through the cracks.
We're working to get this one (and more) fixed ASAP!
What about the UI?
Nobody likes it. Nobody. This was the case when it hit the PTB, this is the case when it hits live. It might be considered as a Bug as well.
And the worst thing is, there is complete silence from your part (aside from one post, I think in the AMA that the change was made to make further changes possible).
(That the new UI went through QA is also not really believable. They must be the only people who actually liked those changes)
-
I see more threads where people complain about Survivors complaining about the change than actual Survivors complaining about it.
In the end, it does change next to nothing, it was extremely rare to create a hook deadzone in the first place.
-
They posted an Update on Twitter:
-
Sometimes a Gen gets completed, but it does not count towards the Gens completed. E.g. if there are 4 Gens left and one Gen is completed, you should be at 3 Gens left, but you stay at 4.
And I would guess that this is corrected when the second to last Gen pops (which is actually the last Gen, since one Gen did not count as completed). Because it always seems to happen when 2 Gens are left and then all Gens are done.
So Survivors repair the same amount of Gens, it is just not displayed. At least it seems to be like that. I have not encountered the Bug myself at this point.

+1 for bothering to do the research.
To be fair, it was only mentioned very briefly. But in general, it would be bonkers to not allow it for Killers and I cannot really understand how someone really can think that.
The Devs usually use Default-Cosmetics when showcasing something. So the two Devs playing Killer running around in the Default Outfit was completely normal.
-
I mean, did anyone expect anything else? From their most recent new Maps and Map Reworks it is quite clear where the direction is going. Overly unsafe, useless Tiles.

when have they ever said that?
During the Q&A-section of the stream.
1:32:35 (Video has a timestamp)
They asked about Items or Offerings and then there is said that Cosmetics are fine.
So my assumption is correct that you thought that the Devs playing with default Cosmetics meant that Killers are not allowed to bring Cosmetics? Despite them not saying at all that this is the case? -

If that is the case then I genuinely have no idea why you would pick the no instadown option when you can have instadowns and exposed for your teammate
Or why Huntress has the decision between two Buffs, while Billy has it between a Nerf and a Buff.
Or why Trapper would only get one Benefit for one option.
Or why one of Wraiths options will only benefit the teammate, while the other clearly benefit the Wraith (and is way better).

Very annoyed at the new character on top and all the exclamation marks for everyone that has a new cosmetic. I cannot express enough how much I dislike the increasing 'GO TO THE SHOP. CHECK OUT THE SHOP. BUY OUR STUFF' that's been going into DBD's interfacing lately. Look, I buy your new stuff on the regular, but this is not incentivizing me to do anything but pull my hair out. We wanted the Owned stickers off for a reason - this is just visual clutter.
This actually incentivizes me to buy less of their stuff. I have the Rift, I get the ACs back. I will buy the original Characters, because I have them.
But I will never ever again buy any Cosmetics with Auric Cells. Before that, I sometimes bought licensed Content with Auric Cells and whenever a new Nea-Cosmetic came out (since I main her). But with them trying so hard to guide people to the store and to more paid content, I will just do the opposite.

yeah the filters resetting every time i go to another screen is really frustrating. the new UI scaling is also terrible, some elements are way bigger than they need to be, as if they were made for a phone screen, and the important stuff is tiny. really hope they roll this back, since the old UI was well-loved and totally fine
They wont roll it back.

Expose survivors whilst chainsaw sprinting? Like apply the exposed effect? So you're encouraging to just saw around the map for as long as possible
This is most likely the idea. You also get more Chainsaw Control and better Cooldown, so you are most likely encouraged to chainsaw as much as possible and expose the Survivors while your teammate gets value out of the exposed.
Does not really sound fun to be honest.

Ugh the new perk seriously only works when healthy? I seriously wish they’d stop with that restriction for some perks I remember when fixated was like that for a couple years
To be fair, I cannot really estimate if the requirements are too harsh. Because 20% Vault Speed Increase + 9% for Resilience sounds kinda nutty. But then it would still have a big Cooldown, so making it work while injured will probably be alright. Well, we will see in 2030, when they remove that requirement, because nobody used the Perk for years.
But yeah, it is a shame, this holds the Perk back a lot. You might not even get value out of it at all.
-
Thats probably the reason why I wont really play the 2v8-mode as Survivor.
I like to go against Billy, but nobody will play Billy without an Instadown.
And I will certainly not play against a buffed Nurse.
-
They said that Outfits are fine?
Do you base your opinion on the fact that the two Devs who played the Killers used Default-Outfits? -
Yeah, thats a big win for me. Not feeling left out when there are Rift Fragments as Login Awards, Codes or Double Rift Fragments is a good feeling. It is just a few BPs, but this is totally fine for me, I see a number going up and get rewarded for being active.
-
Yes, you understand this correctly. Not sure why they thought they have to take one of the main points of his power away from Billy, but give Nurse a Buff she did not even need.
-
Yep, new UI is a Downgrade, but we all know that BHVR does not listen when it comes to stuff like this. They will probably tweak it, and it will still be worse than before.
But well, apparently they need money, so everything which might lead to someone spending a bit more helps, even if it is awful and looks like the intern took a shot at creating a UI.
You can filter the date of the Survivors, which brings them in the normal Order everyone is used to, but the filter resets all the time. It is really bad.
-
@Caiman said:
They have to guarantee that we have the worst possible experience, because that's all us Switch players ever get.
I would guess that the problem is the Switch/Nintendo here and not BHVR.

This is the image from the Stream.
What kind of clarification do you need? You have everything you played for, but you need to rebuy the characters. Thats basically it. -
@ArkInk said:
I think it's fine as is, since the 9% buff isn't that big a deal for most of the categories it affects. The gen speed buff can be a little nutty with a toolbox and other perks like Deja Vu, but it isn't anything near the plagues of the past, so I'm fine with it tbh.
It'll pair nice with Lara's new vault perk when that comes, so I'm looking forward to trying that out!
"It'll pair nice with Lara's new vault perk when that comes, so I'm looking forward to trying that out!"
How? One of them only works when healthy, the other one only works when injured.

No. Not really Horror, bad Perks. I will bring her to P9 and then never touch her again.

They could give us instead a map variant for example.
They did the same with skull merchant back then and didnt include that in the roadmap if i recall correctly.
In theory yes.
But with Skull Merchant it was a bit different, because they just changed an already existing map, they did not add a new one in an already existing Realm (like they did with Vecna or Unknown).

Which changes are you talking about? The only changes she received were straight up buffs.

Honestly the Lightburn change should have been done in the opposite way. Make Flashlights interact with every Killer power instead of none. Shine a light on the Drone to disarm, shine a light on Ghosty to reveal, shine a light on Infections to cure (maybe 4s instead of 1-2s for this), shine a light on anything to know it will be a universal power counter at the cost of the limited battery life.
That is a really bad idea. You would basically have to bring a Flashlight to every game and Franklins would just destroy any Survivor Team.
And having only a limited amount of counters will make Killers even stronger the longer the match goes. This is already the case that the Killer gets stronger the longer the match is going on, if the Survivors start being unable to do counterplay, it will be even worse. Which would probably lead to some really unhealthy and boring gameplay, where Killers just try to stall as long as possible so that the Batteries of the Flashlights are gone and then they win with their uncounterable abilities.
-
Yeah, the most stupid achievement. And I thought the one were you had to open Exit Gates on RPD would be the worst they ever released, but that one is even worse.
With RPD you were at least able to use Map Offerings (even if you still would need to make it to Endgame), but with Vecna you just have to hope to go against him, that you actually find the respective Item AND survive.
So I guess unless you go against a friendly Vecna who gifts you the Achievement if you fulfill the first two points (going against Vecna and actually finding the Items), it will be pretty miserable to get it.
