Cause its just 3 buffs not alot compared to survivors
You cannot just compare the numbers, lol. This makes 0 sense. The Dredge-Buff alone is way more significant than all the Survivor-Buffs.
When the Devs would buff 20 Killer-Perks from bad to not so bad (but still not useable) and DS to 10 seconds, would you call that killer-sided then?

Yeah, honestly with buffs to these perks it's almost like an indirect buff to killers. People will feel more empowered to use these perks that encourage survivors to [only partially complete a gen, then spend a bunch of time off gens trying to engage with the killer in order to get value.]
...OK, maybe "indirect buff to killers" is overselling it. But the perks that got buffed do encourage survivors to take a break from repairing if you want to get value, so one would hope killer players worried about survivors sticking to gens would be happy there are more reasons for survivors to not do that
Yeah, saying it is an indirect Killer-Buff is too much, but the Buffs to the Survivor-Perks will not really be bad for Killer. Simply because they might ditch a Meta-Perk and the Perks promote interaction with the Killer.
E.g. if you want to get value out of chemical trap, you will be moving a lot away from Gens.

2v8 has its shortcomings, but still, you can do very well with little effort, even in solo queue. Besides, the bp bonus is very attractive to a lot of people.
I mean, the last time I played this mode, there were 7 people unable to get me out of my Cage. I got one-hooked (or one-caged).
The problem I see is that 2v8 is more something for SWFs (which is something I always said when someone wanted it). But if you are a Solo-Player you will just have to deal with more Survivors being inefficient than before.
I personally enjoy 1v4 way more than 2v8.

are we looking at the same patch??
The majoriry of perk buffs for are all meme perks and allow for more shenanigans, and the 3 killers that got looked at received some very note worthy buffs.
^ this.
If a Survivor decides to run a Perk like Chemical Trap or Blast Mine over a Meta-Perk due to a Buff, I think this is a good thing.
And I am always amazed that Killers manage to ignore quite substancial things for them in this Patch, especially Dredge and Nemesis might be powerhouses with the changes.

Yes, and I'm okay with that, so it's not like killer don't have any slowdown, they can see aura around, they can see the aura when a gen is done, and they can kick a gen, and it regress at +200%
I just mentioned it because you said it is 200% Regression. But it is even 300%.

my question is, where is generator defence perk buffs in this patch? Like whole reason why generator defence perk were nerfed was to make killer less reliant on generator defence perks. The way they did that is by making camp more effective. Now they're nerfing camping, so where is generator defence perks at?
Increases hook stage - > survivor can gen-rush more by leaving survivors longer on hooks but the killer don't have same gen perks they had prior to said change. My thought on this change is gen-rushing is stronger and killer got all their perk nerfed.
so where is all base-kit generator regress stuff at or what perks are killers suppose to use that have high impact like before?
Killers are doing good currently. There is no need to buff Slowdown-Perks.
That Forum User xXxKillerMain69xXx is not doing well does not mean that Killer as a whole is in a bad spot.

Horrible change. A lot of times i get looped extremely hard then the game ends and it was a P100.
Do i sometimes win over them? Yes for sure, but on my experience de ratio is like 25-75.
25% of the time i win easily / win but close against a P100.
75% of the time i lose extremely hard against the P100.
Everyone seems to think "hey is just a number" and thats a blatant lie, at least for me. My own experience says that P100 means skill (and, oh well, getting a P100 means a lot of time spent so its pretty normal?). Hey, or maybe i am just the most unlucky person on DBD history and im playing against the best P100 players in the world.
And the best part is someone on reddit tested hundreds of games if im not mistaken, ant the stats did show that the P100 were MUCH better that the ones that were not.
Again, horrible change. Give me some option to disable going against people that are more prestige than me, then we can hide the prestige number.
But it is just a number.
If you win a game against 4 low Prestige-Survivors, you dont even know if they have P100s or not. So thinking that you lose especially against P100-Survivors is just a strange thought.
I would go so far that you will most likely have won more games against full P100-Squads (which were just not using their main Survivor) than you actually lost to them.
-
"Bully Squads" - have nothing to do with Prestige. Sure, they might play on one character, but not everyone having a P100-Survivor wants to bully a Killer and not everyone having a low Prestige-Survivor is someone who does not bully at all.
Prestige is meaningless. You will face the same player, regardless if they use their P100-Ace or their P6-Lara.
When it comes to Cheaters, the argument is even more pointless. Cheaters usually use brand-new accounts, which are low prestige. And they are Anon anyway. You will not be able to spot a Cheater from just looking at the Lobby.

This can also be bad: if survivors do mistakes, and deserve to get punished....now they just have more time to recover for free and do gens!
Those pesky Survivors. They DESERVE to be punished. DESERVE!!
Seriously, it will be a change which will be implemented and one week after implementation nobody will talk or care about it.
-
Should have been implemented alongside the increase of Gentime.
If someone does not (proxy)camp a lot, they wont see a difference. Someone who relied on camping a lot will have a worse time. Which is a good thing.
-
Lerys, Haddonfield and Ormond for me.
And it should be REAL new Maps and not just assets shifted around. IMO what they did with MacMillan and later with Ormond and Yamaoka is not really good. The maps look chaotic, they look bad and the gameplay is also not good. Just moving around assets is not really a good thing and it comes across kinda lazy (at least for me).
I would rather hope they put time into expanding older realms with actual new Maps. Like, I am very sure there is more to Ormond that can be done than just move around the Main Building, Shack and Tiles and call it a day.
-
Agreed. The queue times for Killer mean that there are not enough Survivors playing. So there need to be changes to a gamemode like 2v8. (Personally, I would be happy if it does not come back, since what I said before exactly happened…).
It is kinda funny, the 400% BP-Incentive are not enough to draw enough Survivors to play 2v8 to make queue times for Killers fast in this mode, but they are enough of an incentive to remove Survivors from 1v4 to also make queue times longer there.
And I think despite the positive feedback, this is something that highly speaks against the gamemode. BHVR always wanted to avoid splitting their playerbase, now they are doing it and it results in long queue times for Killers in both modes.
-
100% Desync. The player is still in "control" when it happens. Looks like she either DCed when hit or, what is more likely, that she crashed, because she is walking forwards a bit. I guess the player themselves were running where they ended up crawling in the end, so when the Server corrected the position, it looked that weird.

And when you kick a gen, it regress at 200%
Yeah, it's not normal that they are only 8 gen to do and not 10, but it's only this who can make a problem, the rest is fine+200%
So in total the Gen regresses 3 times as fast. Which is significant as Slowdown.
-
I have the complete opposite experience. I will only play 2v8 for the remaining challenges and I hope that they never add a Tome for it again.
The mode is garbage, it is not fun at all. I prefer the 4v1-mode by a mile.
-
Saying that RBTs dont provide Slowdown is just wrong. Survivors HAVE to get off Gens to get rid of the Traps and RBTs are really consistent nowadays since there is a fixed number of Searches Survivors have to do. And as a method which can kill, it is totally fine that it is not super-lethal, but you can still die to RBTs.
And it is the most boring part of her Kit. So I dont really see any need of buffing it.
Your ideas are obviously not really thought out. Especially the timer should stop in Chase, this would mean that a Survivor would be on a 1min 30seconds timer (in your idea, even less with Tampered Timer, which you would not nerf) without anything they can do.
No offense, but I think if someone is suggesting something like that, they are not very experienced in the game and might need to improve their own gameplay and knowledge of the game.
-
Neither.
But 2v8 just shows the big snowballing-potential we have in DBD. This is already seen in the regular 1v4-gameplay - if the Killer gets a Survivor out of the game early, there is nothing the Survivors can do. And if a Killer gets to 1 Gen with almost no Hooks, they will most likely lose as well (and maybe get a 1K and every Kill more is basically the Survivors messing up).
2v8 makes this even stronger. If Gens are flying, the Killers have it harder, but if Survivors drop dead early, it is even worse than regular gameplay.
-
Considering that they just put the bonus to 400% for Survivor because nobody plays the role, I think you are wrong here.

If you are a meta slave, anything other than S tier perks is bad.
There is a big gap between S-Tier Perks and Boon-Perks. There is a whole lot of useable and more or less good Perks between those.
Boons are just outright weak. They are a failed concept and there was only one really good Boon so far and it got nerfed into the ground. That there are still people who are a liability to their team by spending those seconds on a Totem does not change that.

I run 4 boon builds often so I don’t agree with you.
The only thing I would change is giving more info on what your boon does across the map to help coordination with soloQ players.
That you like to run Meme-Builds does not make them good.

@Murgleïs said:

There are 4 survivors for 1 killer. Each time the killer waste time to snuff a boon, the survivor gets value, not the other way around.
If we ignore the fact that the Survivor spends way too much time for how bad or mediocre at best Boon-Perks are, sure.
-
In some way, yes. It would at least be a meaningful measurement against tunneling. Because the measurements we currently have are just a joke and maybe a mild inconvenience. I mean, they buffed DS to 5 seconds and it was still bad (because 5 seconds in 2024 are not the same as 5 seconds in 2020). And even nerfed it to 4 seconds. So on that you can clearly see they dont want to have anything efficient against tunneling.
This would be something efficient, however, it NEEDS to be 100% bulletproof that a Killer who does not tunnel does not get punished. For example, I had a game where I got my first Kill with 7 or 8 Hooks (I dont know anymore, but everyone was hooked at least once), 3 Gens left. And the next Gen repaired brought the game down to 1 Gen to go and when I chased one Survivor, they got Adrenaline shortly before I downed them (which they would not have gotten without the Bug, since the Gen Count would be 1 and not 0) and in the end, it was a 2K while it would probably have been a 4K or 3K with Hatch Escape.
And there are more than enough examples that the Bug (and a potential Anti-Tunneling feature) would also affect regular gameplay.
The idea of a catch-up mechanic makes sense, but I think it would just be too hard to implement and actually make it fair and at all cost avoidable that Killers who dont tunnel get punished.
-
I would agree that Singularity is not really fun to verse. But he was never fun to verse, the most recent changes dont really change anything, it was always annoying that he teleported right onto you (which is why EMPs have to be effective against him).
He is just more accessible, which probably makes him a bit more annoying.
But IMO nowhere near to Skull Merchant. She is just obnoxious.

I think the game is not fully installed yet. So you are able to play the Tutorial, but you cannot access the online functions at this point.

Except that bug from what I have seen only affects dead hard so its easily avoidable. I run sprintburst and lithe and never have been affected by it.
Maybe BHVR should look into why such catastrophic bugs can happen in the first place. The bugs in this game are insane. For a bug like this the game should be rolled back to the previous version which didnt have it. It might build faith from the community, instead everyones scared of what will break even on the smallest of patches.
Clowns addon gets touched - it breaks a map.
There is no way that this would have been tested before. How would you even test it? Do you really think it is reasonable to test if the Gen Count gets messed up when in e regular game a Survivor leaves the tally screen after being sacrificed?
-
The girls from Highschool of the Dead would be excellent Survivors. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Jokes aside - if it would fit, I would not mind it. But it should be Horror, I dont really want to see that much non-Horror in the game.

You should be able to push someone away. That would solve most of these issues.
Players should lose collision once they have a AFK-Crow. This would solve it and makes holding someone hostage basically impossible.
Obviously they would need to remove ways to avoid AFK-Crows (Emotes, dropping and picking up an Item) to make this work.
And it is such an easy fix, I dont understand why it is not in the game already.

would still be the same thing with survivors waiting on exit gates.
Both can be uneccesary and drags the game out for no reason but can be easily played around (unless someone decides to go a step further)
No, not really.
If EGC has started, it is at max 4 minutes (more likely 2 minutes) until the game ends. Or the Killer can force the Survivors out.
And if EGC has not started and Survivors are blocking the Exit Gates (e.g. to troll other Survivors), the Killer can also do something.
But there is no way for a Survivor to get a Killer to move away from the Exit Gates.
-
@SleepyLunatic said:

It really depends on more context i think.
Did the killer knew what the survivor was doing? If not, he shouldnt be punished, unless we agree to also ban people waiting for the killer on exit gates.
Both kinda the same thing.
however if he knew dwight was blocking as well, both should definitely banned. For me it sounds like the killer basically only give up, the survivor saw that and decided to be a jerk.
The Killer can also give up anywhere else and not just in front of the Exit Gate.
-
I havent seen a Thread about someone complaining about Singularity. (At least not after he hit the Live Servers)
-
Yeah, both the Trapper and the Dwight should be reported for holding the game hostage. I hope you recorded it so that you can send the recording to the Support.
If not, still report them, but with the screenshots.
-
Because Kills are used for the message which is displayed at the end of the game.
(And Kills are also the default "Win" for the game, because Kills and Escapes calculate your MMR. So you having 8 Hooks is basically you playing badly for the game. If you would have camped the first person and then killed a second with NOED, you would have done better, according to the game. Fun. :) )

I dont know, I think it would be pretty boring for a Time LImited Mode.

Dudes you can't be for real. His post obviously says the same product isn't on discount on Steam and he's probably upset about it because he's on Steam and not on Epic Games, so he don't have the discount on the same exact DLC.
He could have put a minimum of effort into his Thread so that people understand what OP means. If it would be obvious, people would not have asked what the issue is.
-
And yet I see the same Slowdown-Perks as always, despite them all being nerfed, "ruined", "gutted", "dead"…
And I dont see the new Lara-Perk at all.
-
"again", lel.
It is a Bug. And it is getting fixed. Which you could have known if you would have used the Search-Function.
-
Since they did not announce anything regarding Killer Bots, I would guess it is just a 1v8 from that point onwards.
-
I mean, both sides have a point here. Running Distortion and playing stealthy is totally fine. As long as you are still efficient and not just hiding in Corners the whole time.
But if you take no chases at all, this is ultimately bad for the team. You can repair two Gens on your own, but if you are not going into chases to spread Hooks, it might end up as a 3v1 with 3 Gens to go and then it does not matter what you contributed in terms of Gen Repair, since the game is basically lost.
And if you are one of those people who unhook and then hide instead of trying to get the attention of the Killer… Well, they have every right to complain.
-
The solution here would be to remove Upstairs Hooks. Those cause something like this. They are too strong when used, but can also mess up the Hooks on the ground level.

Players playing on Epic also have the Crossplay-Symbol. You should be able to click on the profile of every Steam-player.
You can, as already written, also put your profile on private. This blocks messages and comments. But people can still send you friend requests. Or, you can just turn off comments on the profile.

They fix it in the next Hotfix. Which is the fastest they can do. Chill.

On Steam you can click on every name of every player who is
a) on Steam
b) not anonymous
If they are either not on Steam (indicated by the Crossplay-Symbol) or Anon, you cannot click their name.

I agree. I never saw face camping as this huge problem in the first place. It seemed like a lot of coding time that could have been spent elsewhere. The best cure for face camping was for everyone else to do Gens and get a three out. Most Killers learned it wasn't good profit. More to the point, there was a time when people could beat a face camp just by bringing the right stuff and working as a team. I've done it and had it done to me. Bubba was the exception though, hard to beat his face camp so three out is always the best against him.
The issue now, which many people predicted, was that it only improved Killers to implement this code. Why? Face Camping is inefficient. It destroys any pressure on the Generators. It tells everyone where the Killer is exactly. It allows coordination and reset. It gives away the Killer's most precious resource, time. The code simply taught that minority that prefer this as a tactic to proxy camp (which is far better) or learn how to time and intercept at the hook. Some pressure is maintained in this way and the Killer is more likely to spot someone sneaking up than right at the hook. It also means Survivors are more willing to go in for the unhook. The code was a big win for Killers who knew how to adapt to it.
Yeah, exactly, basically this. I mean, even with Bubba I have not seen that much facecamping. Sure, you always had the thought that a Bubba downs you and will run to the Basement with Agitation/Iron Grasp to Insidious-Camp there. But even with Bubba I would not really say I experienced actual facecamping that often (outside of Endgame of course).

There will be some backlash yes, but by that time people will be used to the longer stretches of Rift and there will be less. That is the whole point of easing us into it, like slowly bringing the water up to boil on a lobster. Or do you believe, out of the goodness of their hearts, that the DEV set aside coding time to redo the Rift infrastructure JUST to give us more Blood Points because they were worried about people finishing them too soon? :)
I believe that what you are writing is unreasonable and wrong.

Probably so that nobody has the feeling of missing out on something. Personally I would have put BPs in the free Track and a very small amount of Iri Shards in the paid track, but having only BPs is also fine.

There is no reason to announce anything with this Bug.
For a brief moment EGC starts before the game is over. Thats about it. The Bug has 0 impact and it is just people putting on their tinfoil hats that this might hint to a future change.
