Is the community really that irrational they can't handle something being delayed? I'm sorry but I find that very hard to believe.

Yes, the DBD-Community is horrible under this aspect.

I mean, the Devs got a lot of hate because the Twins-Chapter was released unfinished. Now the Devs take longer (this is still not a delay since no official date was given), and people are not satisfied again. Which is stupid.

So the Devs tend to only give information when things are ready, because this community is unable to handle delays.

  • Nope. It would have been out by now, usually Patches are released around 11 AM EST, which was around 2 hours ago.

  • Its fine that you are not able to see map-wide. The maps were way too bright, it is good that they go for darker Maps again.

When did they state that? Also I disagree we got Oni Slinger pyramid head and blight who were Amazing killers even though Slinger is not top tier people really hate him and there very strong but I do agree they don’t won’t to make another nurse cause nowadays they would never make a killer like nurse anymore

In fact, this is what they said - that a Killer like Nurse will not be released again, which is understandable, since she is a design failure and impossible to balance. The only thing that "balances" her is that not everyone has the patience to learn her (and that there are alternatives to her which only require a fraction of practice).

But they release strong Killers, and aside from Twins, every Killer in 2020 was strong. If we look at 2019, Plague, Ghostface and Demo are at least decent while Oni is strong. So the last two years had solid Killers (aside from The Twins).

I was gonna say, I can’t believe people complain about pinky finger. Not only does it take a fair amount of skill to use, but it probably only puts him on the level of base kit Billy or leatherface. It’s still easy to throw pallets, if you are out in the open you die but that’s every one shot killer.

Also “hate speeches after a game?” is under killer? I get waaaaay more salty survivors than salty killers.

I dont know, I consider Pinky Finger problematic since Clown does not slow down anymore after a Bottlethrow. It is not hard to get a direct hit, especially not if you threw one or two bottles before so that the Survivor is hindered.

And "dropping Pallets early" might be a counterplay, but it is a pretty bad one, because then there are no Pallets left and you (and your team), just die later. I am really surprised they did not change Pinky Finger.

    @Topic:

Many things listed are not toxic. The problem is, the word "toxic" does not have any meaning anymore, because people use it for basically everything what the other side does and what they dont like. E.g. it is not toxic to sabotage a Hook in the Killers face, it is also not toxic to run Hex-Perks. As examples.

To be fair, we really don't know the circumstances of a lot of the bans. And as we've seen, pretty much anything can potentially get you banned. Even what I am currently saying is grounds to ban me and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened.

    ^ this.

Also, the relevant posts will be deleted. The person who gets the Warning/Ban knows what they have done, but any other people might not know about it.

I noticed the chase music seems to bug out sporadically. Not sure if it makes sense but it seems to happen near the gate most of the time.

Yes. Personally, I thought that this is only happening during EGC, when the Sirens are playing.

  • I dream of the day where people stop whining about SWF and accept that they are not as good at the game as they think they are.

This idea came up multiple times and it is rubbish. This would be enough of an comment, but to go on:

Playing with Friends should NEVER be punished. It is a multiplayer onlinegame, people want to play with their friends.

And what about Solo-Players? They are not affected by the Debuff, but if you play as Solo with a 3 man-SWF or a 2 man-SWF, you will have teammates which are slow on Gens, healing, etc... And I am not talking about those who dont do the Objective, but they are doing it, but slower. So this means that Solos will be affected as well.

The last point is also something against this mentality "SWF also screws over Solos", because it would even enforce this (non-existent) problem.

Maybe if they weren’t using cheap ass Amazon cloud based servers it’d be fine.

I dont think that the Servers itself are the problem. The problem is that a P2P-game is running on Dedicated Servers so this needs to be adapted. And given the fact that there are like at least 3 years of P2P-work in the game, this will take a long time.

  • I guess its quite a bunch of negative things that piled up - the lackluster Halloween-"Event", the Advent Calender and then the Chapter and all of it had a really negative vibe.

Let alone that the Twins were not ready on Release and you had to wait two weeks until all features were implemented. And lets not forget, before the Twins, BHVR released one of their best Killers (in fact, the whole year was full of good Killers, but Blight was exceptionally good with being a strong and rewarding Killer who is also fun to play against).

Kind of a letdown when after Blight, they basically bring the complete Opposite. But I dont think if I want to call Twins weak, because there are people who get them to work (e.g. Dowsey had a Streak of 200 4Ks in a row), and you dont get that by luck.

But for me, I dont really like the Twins, I prestiged them not long ago, but it is kinda annoying that most of the gameplay is done with Victor. And since they can camp so easily (which is an oversight, seriously, the Devs should have known that Killers with built-in Insidious are not healthy), I was almost at the point to just suicide against a Twins-player, because I had a streak of like 5 or 6 Twins who just camped and slugged after the Unhook some time ago. Meanwhile, I went against two Blights today and both games were fun.

  • @ChurchofPig said:

They don't nerf the survivor perks because BHVR is mostly survivor mains. Hex: Huntress Lullaby was nerfed over survivor entitlement that the devs had.

Or Huntress Lullaby was nerfed because Docs Skill Checks were the only thing affected by it aside from Healing and Reparing - no Jigsaw Boxes, no Cages, etc.

And not everyone is experienced in the game, if some Survivors who are quite new to the game go against a Doc, it is a huge difference between getting hard Skill Checks on Gens and Healing and getting hard Skill Checks during snapping out. The first is messing up the Objective, the second is, not getting to play.

OR you can just feed the narrative of "Devs are survivor-sided", if you dont want to follow logic.

  • "I'm not sure if it is intended or another bug but some times the nurse doesn't get stunned by pallets, I noticed this far more often if it occurs during her fatigue animation, but it also happens frequently enough while picking up a survivor (I know this also happens on other killers but it's much more common on the Nurse from my experience)."

Thats a Bug, it also happens with other Killers, got not stunned as Wraith and did not stun a Billy.

The thing about Nurse-Bugs is that they will most likely be linked to Dedicated Servers. Because when Nurse got reworked, Dedicated Servers went live as well. And if it is a Dedicated Servers-Issue, it will take a while. I mean, they just said a few months ago that Dead Hard is gonna be reworked from scratch to work in Dedicated Servers. And this is only one single Perk, I cannot imagine how much more time it would take to fix the Bugs on Nurse.

  • No official date given yet. If not this week on Tuesday then most likely next week.

  • Usually it is 3 weeks, at least this was the case for the last Updates. However, for this time, there was no official date given yet, meaning technically there is no delay.

Also, a big point of criticism was the Twins-Chapter because it was released unfinished. So the community should not really complain (not talking about you, OP, here, but I am pretty sure some people will complain) if they take longer for the PTB-content to go live.

U do realize that using that logic there's no such thing as qualitative questions? U can turn anything into numerical data. Whether it's an essay, some1s entire opinion written on the forums or anything really. I really don't think u understand what those terms mean.

Once again, you're also missing the entire point of what the op is saying. What we're talking about isn't even on topic to the discussion.

You are mixing up ordinal and nominal, both are quantitative. Ordinal is bringing things into a logical order (e.g. the questions about how satisfied you are with the game, you can clearly order them), while nominal is listing things which cannot be brought in order (e.g. your Color example, blue is not more than green. Or, in the Survey: Which games you have played before, Bloodboren is not more or less than DayZ, for example).

Qualitative is something like "What would you want to change in DBD?" without any options to choose from - this is basically only useful when you are quite new to the topic, but the Devs are not new to it. And if they would bring up a question like this, they would have thousands of people writing their own opinion into it and some poor soul needs to read that.

So they ask what they want to ask and where they want to know anything about. This does not make something biased, this is how surveys work, they ask what they want to know and not what the players want to tell. For that you have the Forums (Steam or this Forum), where the Devs can read.

And this is what I also answered regarding OPs concerns, they have to make the survey this way. What worth would it have if they ask if the game needs more optimization? I would say "Yes", despite not having any problems with DBD at all. And so would others, so they would have a big pile of "Yes":

Even if they would ask "Is your game running smoothly?" and the majority would answer "Yes", should they drop any form of optimization for the future?

Questions like this dont make sense. But if you want to go further on some details, you have that Box in the end, e.g. if they ask about Rank Reset, you can write down your additional thoughts on it.

But overall asking for the opinion of players would just be a mess.

  • PTB only stays up for a limited time.

  • @Epsydra said:

I would like at least one SWF indicator in the lobby. It is tiring in the long run to check each player's friend lists only to exit the lobby. Especially since many SWF do not assume and know that no killer wants to play with them so they set their Steam profile to hide their friend list, or even block their profile altogether.

LMAO, that doesn't stop me from DC from the first few minutes of the game if I see I've been screwed.

Just play the game. Imagine checking everyones profile in the Lobby and their friendlist, just to see if they are an SWF. Even if they are, this does not mean that they are any good.

And believe it or not, people are not setting their profile on private so that Killers in DBD cannot see their friendlist...

So what ur trying to say is a tier 1 perk is less powerful than tier 3? Duh

What are you talking about? After the Rework, DS was on 3 seconds across all Tiers, the only difference (like now) was the duration it was activated. This got buffed to 5 seconds, because of what I have written - roughly half of the time went away for the animation, therefore with 3 seconds, a Survivor was not able to gain any distance, which resulted in DS only being useful when the Survivor was picked up right at the Exit.

Really, at this point, I am thinking that you try to misunderstand on purpose.

I guess the STEAM population is pretty small compared to the combined population of XB1, Series X, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Switch and Windows Store.

    ^ this.

I guess from all Platforms, Steam has the highest number of players per Platform, but if you have all those other platforms combined, those will be more.

  • It seems like you are new to the game. Doctor is a decent Killer, but not too strong. However, in lower Ranks, Killers are way stronger (relative) to Survivors, because the Survivors also dont know what they are doing, meaning that the Killer has it easier, because they are faster.

And Doctor also removes one thing that new Survivors love to do - hiding.

But overall, he is not too strong, like I said, he is decent. But once you have played against him a few times, you will know what to do. This does not mean that he is a pushover, but he will most likely not obliterate your team anymore.

  • Yeah, know him for 20 years. Used to hang out a lot, but since Covid is a thing, we did not see each other for quite a while already, went to the cinema or simply for some good food from time to time.

We wanted to try out a japanese restaurant in a town nearby, but this is not possible at the moment.

So, am I allowed to play with him? Or do you want a pic from us in front of our DBD-Accounts first?

Jeez, some people. Even if Friends dont hang out each time and only know each other online, they can still be friends.

I really want someone to try to make the argument that hit validation is working. I just really want to hear it 😂😂😂

It IS working, I see some rare occasions where the Killer is going for really ambitious swings, which means that they think I am closer than I am. But this happens like once every 20 Games.

Hit Validation does really just a tiny bit. But it is so generous that it will not do anything for over 90% of the time. (But thats what you get if you want to have Dedicated Servers without the option to provide quite huge populations fo players without a Server nearby... then Hit Validition has to be practically useless, if you dont want those players to get "robbed" of Hits all the time)

  • @chargernick85 said:

But would you though? I guarantee you a lot of killers wouldn't they were just stack more regression perks on top of that which would just be broken.

    ^ this.

Killers would just stack more Slowdown, like they already do. And buffing the Regression of Gens would not change that.

  • It all depends how the players are playing. As Survivor, I dont have anything against stealthy players, as long as they get the Objective done. There was a small german Streamer who I was matched with quite frequently before Dedicated Servers were a thing (sadly, because now many more players are connected to the Servers in Europe, this does not happen anymore), he was not really good at Looping, but he was stealthy and efficient. I knew it would be a good game if he was on my team.

However, there are also players who are way too stealthy, like crouching whenever they hear Terror Radius or sometimes just crouching randomly.

As Killer, I prefer cocky Survivors over stealthy Survivors. At least I can play the game when facing people who actually want to get chased. I had one game on Haddonfield a long time ago, where I only saw a Bill the entire game. After hooking him two times, I ignored him for the rest of the game, because I dont want to tunnel him out of the game, because his teammates were hiding. In the end, this was my only hook and I had much fun (not).

And just a few days ago, basically the same happened. After around 10 minutes of time, only two Gens were done because whenever I was near the Survivors, they were hiding. I knew they were there, because I use Whispers, but I only found two out of four, one of them all the time. And it was such a boring game.

But in general, BHVR goes away from Stealth, if we look at all the mechanics they implemented - Killer Instinct, vomiting (noises without any way of countering them), Blood Orbs (will still fly around, regardless of your Perks), in general good visibility on the Maps (with The Game becoming even brighter than it was on the PTB)...

So, Stealth is a dying playstyle.

In 3seconds u should have gone further than 6m. And enduring only affects pallet stuns it was changed a while ago nerfed to the ground, no good killer is gonna use it since they can fake the pallet drop

Ok, again: Even without Enduring (at this time, Enduring affected the DS-Stun, making it even more laughable), around half of the time will be used for the animation to get off the Killers shoulder. This equals 6 meters of distance, if the Survivor runs with 4m/s.

The time spent for the animation is still the same, but because the Stun is 5 seconds instead of 3 seconds, Survivors actually can gain distance. With 3 seconds, DS would only have an impact if the Survivor is picked up next to an open Gate.

  • @SasukeKun said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1907406#Comment_1907406

with some killers it was harder to get away yes, but overall they still changed it back because of the outcry

Nope, with all of the Killers. I stunned a Plague with the 3 second-variant of DS and she did not have Enduring, she was able to catch up ín no time. And being a 4,6m/s-Killer without any form of extra mobility is quite representative. From 3 second stun, around half of it is already gone with the animation, meaning a Survivor will gain around 6 meters of distance during the stun. Which is nothing.

  • Sorry for trying to survive. Of course every Survivor should make the Killer kill them, if they struggle. Why improving when they can get it gifted, eh?

  • @Terro said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1906647#Comment_1906647

That's not exactly what those mean. For example, a qualitative question would ask what color shirt are you wearing?

    - blue

    - red

    - purple

    - other

A quantitative question would ask the What rank are you in dbd?

    -1

    - 2

    -3

The op is annoyed that the survey doesn't have the other option or sometimes guides the responses.

Your first example is quantitative as well. I can easily make a graph out of those to display them, by just giving them the numbers 1, 2, 3, etc. internally. A "other" option would just be another value (but it should be included all the time, this is correct, same like a N/A-option)

All of the questions (except for the last one, which was an open field) were quantitative. Qualitative surveys are not being able to be shown in statistics, something like a questionnaire or an interview.

They sure can do a qualitative survey, but this would be MUCH shorter. And honestly, looking at the Forums, a good bunch of those would be a waste of time to read if it consists things like "Delete SWF" or "Remove Bubba". Or they can do a bigger quantitative survey, but a) they get some info already from the Forums or other places (like the need of optimization, they might ask about it, but another answer than "yes, I want more optimization", even from people who are not affected at all cannot be expected) and b) it would be far longer and the longer such a survey is, the less people want to answer it.

if anything it needs a buff (Nurses Calling), not much got nerfed on survivor side that is to altering of being totally in survivors hands most games.

Remember when DS was balanced and then got changed back because survivors cried?

I did not say that Nurses Calling should be nerfed, OP mentioned Nurses Calling and the only change that happened was that the Range was reduced by 4 meters in Patch 1.1.2 (!!) - so if we go back years to look for Killer Nerfs, OP should not ignore the big list of Survivor Nerfs over those years.

Ah, the "balanced" DS? Was it that DS which did not provide a Stun Time to get any distance at all? Nice to see what some people understand when they talk about "Balanced". So the Perk just has to be useless to be balanced, gotchya.

  • Dead Survivors dont count for Thanatophobia.

  • Since you are one of those persons who think that SWF is cheating, I dont have much hope, but:

The Survey is a quantitative survey. This means you give answers and the person asked has to choose from those. This is an easy way to collect data. You cant expect a quantitative Survey to have many options to fill out on your own.

This would be a qualitative survey which would have to be way shorter, because people have to analyze them manually.

  • @golubushka08 said:

Decoy it'a a clone of your survivor who stays still.

There are already enough of those in the game.

  • Ah yeah, sure. I bet the Devs will gladly kill their game so that Killers, who always use SWF as excuse for their own mistakes, will be happy for a short while.

  • @xEcoLog1cDuk3Xx said:

Thats correct, if you delete SWF, BHVR would not need to care for the game anymore, since it will be dead.

  • Nurses Calling Nerf? I hope you are not talking about the Nerf which happened years ago. If you want to bring up things that got nerfed years ago, look what got nerfed on the Survivor Side.

And Discordance did not get nerfed at all, it got buffed.

The only people that would say that are people who go against him that aren't very good. To someone that plays killer or is experienced at survivor he is far from that. He's pretty much in the middle of the killer tier list not weak but certainly not top tier.

Disagree on that one. Tierlists are highly subjective, and while Number 1 and Number 2 are fixed (Nurse and Spirit), there is a debate about the places afterwards. Contenders: Blight, Oni, Freddy, Hag, Pyramid Head for sure. Maybe even Deathslinger, Billy and Huntress.

But for the third strongest Killer, the five I named before are definitely up to debate when it comes to placing them from 3 to 7.

(Which just shows how strong Killers have become, if you dont really know which Killer will be the third-strongest, because there are some options)

  • I mean, not caring about Gens at all - nope. But I dont care about them, as long as only 4 of them get done in total. I only use Corrupt Intervention as Gen Defense, no Ruin, no PGTW. Sometimes Sloppy, either on a Killer where it makes sense (like Ghostface or Wraith) or on Killers, where I dont know what to use instead (Spirit, I dont know which Perks to use on her, since I dont want to use Gen Regression Perks and I dont want to use Stridor either).

So you're basically claiming you can win 10 games out of 11 as a Killer, and you're saying that Killer is harder than survivor. So I suppose this means if you find survivor easier (and you obviously find Killer very easy), then you must escape pretty much every match.

So either you've got 4000 hours on the game and are now claiming it takes no skill (unaware that maybe over 4000 hours, you acquired skill), or maybe you're playing in some other region to me which is full of potatoes. I'm playing at around rank 7 on the EU servers and its basically either constant sweat squads, or potatoes. I have only been playing the game for a few months, so I can hardly expect to win every game, but this game is not easy.

Those were just random numbers, thrown in because it always looks like Killers are complaining after a lost game, even if they won all the games before and afterwards.

I only have one batch of stats:

    @Aven_Fallen said:

So, those are my stats for 30 games without Bloodlust. I played mostly M1-Killers and most of the time with the goal to farm BPs. I have used the same Build on each Killer all the time (including Add Ons, except for Trapper, where I did not use a yellow Bag for the last game but a brown Bag).

All games were on Rank 1/2 (last game was a Depip, so I am at Rank 2 with 4 Pips currently) against mostly Red Ranks.

    Stats are written like that:

KIller - Map - Kill Count - Hook Count - Comments (if any)... When I did not get a 4K, they got all Gens done and escaped via the Gate (if not written otherwise)

Also wrote down the Builds at the end.

On average, I got 2,8 Kills per game and 8,9 Hooks per game. And I will most likely not do any more Killer games, since I will play Survivor for the rest of the day and I will not have time tomorrow before the Experiment ends.

    Game 1: Legion - Badham - 2 Kills - 8 Hooks

    Game 2: Pig - Badham - 4 Kills - 12 Hooks

    Game 3: Trapper - Sanctum - 2 Kills - 9 Hooks

    Game 4: Wraith - Resting Place - 4 Kills - 12 Hooks

    Game 5: Hag - Abattoir - 4 Kills - 9 Hooks

    Game 6: Doctor - The Game - 4 Kills - 11 Hooks - Map Offering by Survivor

    Game 7: Wraith - Wretched Shop - 4 Kills - 10 Hooks

    Game 8: Doctor - Wretched Shop - 4 Kills - 12 Hooks

    Game 9: Legion - Hawkins - 4 Kills - 10 Hooks

    Game 10: Pig - Torment Creek - 3 Kills - 10 Hooks

Game 11: Pig - Wreckers Yard - 2 Kills - 9 Hooks - Key Escape, I would have gotten at least a 3K, but one of them found a Key with 1 Gen left

    Game 12: Pig - Badham - 1 Kill - 7 Hooks

Game 13: Pig - Rotten Fields - 3 Kills - 5 Hooks - First person suicides on 1st Hook, two others suicide on second Hook, last Survivor escapes via Hatch without being hooked

Game 14: Pig - Shelter Woods - 3 Kills - 7 Hooks - First person dies because of the Trap after the 1st Hook, second person suicides on second Hook, farmed with the remaining two, one of them got Hatch would have probably been a 4K with 4 Gens left

    Game 15: Trapper - Shelter Woods - 1 Kill - 5 Hooks

    Game 16: Trapper - Badham - 3 Kills - 9 Hooks

    Game 17: Wraith - Fractured Cowshed - 0 Kills - 4 Hooks

    Game 18: Wraith - Ironworks - 1 Kill - 7 Hooks

    Game 19: Clown - Pale Rose - 4 Kills - 8 Hooks

    Game 20: Wraith - Temple - 4 Kills - 12 Hooks

Game 21: Trapper - Disturbed Ward - 3 Kills - 6 Hooks - Hatch Escape, two people got to second Stage, third Survivor who died killed himself on 1st Hook to give Hatch, Map Offering by a Survivor

    Game 22: Doctor - Fractured Cowshed - 0 Kills - 5 Hooks

    Game 23: Myers - Thompsons House - 4 Kills - 10 Hooks

    Game 24: Hag - Suffocation Pit - 3 Kills - 10 Hooks - Hatch Escape

    Game 25: Pig - Badham - 3 Kills - 11 Hooks

    Game 26: Trapper - Thompsons House - 4 Kills - 8 Hooks - Map Offering by a Survivor

    Game 27: Wraith - Torment Creek - 4 Kills - 12 Hooks - 3 man SWF (Rank 5, 6, 7) and Solo (Rank 10)

    Game 28: Doctor - Wretched Shop - 3 Kills - 11 Hooks - Hatch Escape

    Game 29: Pig - Chapel - 3 Kills - 10 Hooks - Hatch Escape

Game 30: Trapper - Family Residence - 0 Kills - 7 Hooks - two 2 man SWFs, one of them with Object

    Builds I used:

Trapper: BBQ, Corrupt Intervention, STBFL, Enduring - yellow Bag (except for the last game, there I used a brown Bag) and yellow Setting Speed

Wraith: BBQ, Corrupt Intervention, Enduring, Sloppy Butcher - yellow Windstorm and yellow Swift Hunt

Myers: Corrupt Intervention, Enduring, M&A, Infectious Fright - Hair Bow and yellow Stalk Increase

Hag: BBQ, Corrupt Intervention, STBFL, M&A - yellow Distance and yellow Setting Speed

Doctor: BBQ, Corrupt Intervention, STBFL, Brutal Strength - yellow Range and yellow Detonation Delay

Clown: Whispers, Corrupt Intervention, STBFL, Brutal Strength - Flask of Bleach and Ether 10%

Legion: BBQ, Enduring, Corrupt Intervention, Thanatophobia - yellow Power Refill and brown Duration

Pig: BBQ, Enduring, Whispers, M&A - no Add Ons

Overall, I would say that I did not notice much of a difference. I have to say, Cowshed was pretty painful, but it is an awful Map in general and I played pretty poorly. I am also not good at Killer, so I guess another player would have achieved more (on Cowshed and overall). The Ayslum Main Building is even more horrible, sadly my Traps got disarmed there immediatly, but luckily only 1 Survivor (the guy who burned the Offering) ran to it every time, otherwise the game would have been way worse.

Sometimes I clearly did not get a Hit I would have gotten normaly, e.g. at Shack when the Survivor vaults the Window from Outside (medium vault), with Bloodlust I would have been close enough to get a Hit, I would assume.

I dont have any stats for my normal games, but from the feeling, it did not feel that different. However, I did not get to that many problematic Maps, I did not end up on Haddonfield or Ormond once, but those Maps are terrible even with Bloodlust.

I would say the worst Map was Fractured Cowshed, while I played badly, it was also painful to see the linked Structures which always forced the Pallet Break. In one of the Wraith Games I wasted so much time that in the end the one Survivor I was chasing simply was able to drop the Pallets without Looping.

But I am happy that I ended up on Badham a lot, since I think that those Maps have fair Loops outside of the Buildings, because both Killer and Survivor have a chance to outplay each other without having to insta-break the Pallet because it is safe or gain a Speedboost after 15 seconds in a Chase.

So yeah, I am happy that BHVR is testing something like that. After all, it is only a Test and Bloodlust will return on Monday, however, I hope that they get Data and that they see if they are on the right track regarding Map Balance. Some Maps 100% still need work, but I think that quite a bunch of Maps are fine already without Bloodlust.

This was from the Bloodlust-experiment, I got 2,8 Kills per game and 8,9 Hooks per game, I usually prefer to go for Hooks instead of Kills (I rather get a 0K, 8 Hook-game than a 4K with 5 Hooks) and I dont slug for the 4K, unless the last person is nearby or someone I want to have dead.

You see that there are some decent games, but also complete destruction where I only got like 4 Hooks in total. And thats totally fine by me.

However, I have indeed many hours in this game (5,4k, to be precise, more on Survivor tho), so I think I know what I am talking about. But the raw number of hours is not really that impactful, it is completely individual how much skill you get. I have seen players who had only a few hundred hours who were way better than me. And meanwhile, in another Onlinegame I play, I have an even higher number of hours and am still "below average", according to the stats. Hours can be a factor, but dont mean that much.

But, like I said, I wont change my opinion, as long as I can hold Rank 1 consistently while still being a Survivor Main who does A LOT of errors as Killer, I cannot really see the game as being difficult for Killer.

(I also dont think that I will response again in this thread, this is a discussion that came up quite often already and it has nothing to do with Map Offerings and even on that topic, I have said everything I wanted)

The only thing I could think of, assuming he gets his own map, is for him to be able to appear out of lockers and out of water, similar to Freddy's teleport power. If we take F13 the Game into account he has a habit of teleporting right in front of or behind you. But that would be some serious overkill and be hell for survivors. Imagine you're working a gen in a loop then you hear his famous sound queue and BOOM, he pops out of the locker next to you. Is that a great power? Probably not. However it would be a lot of fun and incite a bunch of jump scares.

The thing is, teleporting to Objects is already done by Freddy. And Jason, being a licensed Character, should probably be more unique and especially not compareable to another licensed Character. I can totally imagine that the License Holders would not like to hear that Jason is like Freddy in DBD.

But, this is all speculation, I guess, when Jason comes to DBD one day, the Devs will have a suitable power for him.

I mean you are just talking utter rubbish now.

If you are saying that Killer takes 0 skill, then obviously you could put a 5 year old who doesn't play video games into Otzdarva's chair and he'd stomp all the same teams. Or you could put a rank 20 into his first game and he'd beat a red rank team.

It's a PVP game, one side wins, and usually it will be due to the skill of those on either side. You just said yourself you will win 5 games in a row, lose one, and win another 5, how are you doing that, if not with skill?

"You just said yourself you will win 5 games in a row, lose one, and win another 5, how are you doing that, if not with skill?"

I dont know, honestly. I am not good at Killer and I only really lose many games if I play a new Killer or someone where I am not really familiar with (like Nurse, Oni or Deathslinger, which are all strong Killers on their own).

And yes, Killer is hardER than Survivor, but not hard by any means.

People say he's the third strongest killer in the game if played right. Why so against it?

Being strong does not mean that a Killer needs a Nerf.

  • Blight is a hard Killer to learn, some even say he is harder to learn than Nurse (I disagree on that). And in general, I think he is fun to play against and many people agree on that one, as long as the Blight is not playing unfun on purpose (like camping or stuff like that) I always enjoy going against him.

However, Ruin/Undying/Tinkerer is VERY strong on him, if you face Blights who use this Build, the game can become a nightmare pretty easily. But in general, Blight is one of the best additions to the game.

  • @Grimm120 said:

Having Jason in the game would no doubt be cool. However I find it hard to think of a power that would make him unique amongst the other killers.

    ^ this.

I could not really imagine a Power which would fit and is fun and decently strong.

Don't get me wrong, losing is fine and all, but when people go out of their way to bully you in this game, it tends to suck a lot. This more than anything else is what grinds my gears.

People who say Killer is easy are just downright wrong, as sucky as it is to say. Competent and skilled Survivors will absolutely smoke you if you don't sweat your ass off.

"Competent and skilled Survivors will absolutely smoke you if you don't sweat your ass off."

And this is 100% fair. If the other side plays better, I lose. This is fine by me. And regarding "bullying" - Killers say that they get "bullied" when Gens get done and need a thicker Skin in general, if they are annoyed by someone spamming crouch.

Of course both sides are easy. Dbd matchmaking ia the same as playing a shooter only against people who have a 0,× KD. Noob stomping is always easy.

I mean, yeah, most players in Red Ranks are not good, this goes for both sides. Of course the game becomes easy at this point.

But thats what you get when you make a Rank Reset which does not really reset, everyone gathers in Red Ranks. Yay.

Perhaps on the Survivor side, it may be simple and easy.

For Killers, DBD is an entirely different game.

It's stressful, chaotic, and more often than not, you get players who constantly try to just piss you off by doing dumb, stupid things.

To say that Killers have no suffrage to pay is just blatantly wrong.

I play both sides, and both sides are easy. If players try to annoy me, whatever. If they win, whatever, I can easily accept that and dont run to the Forums and complain about something which happened in that one game that I lost, after winning the 5 games before and the 5 games after that game.

If you are thinking that you are doing anything special when playing Killer or that it is very skillful in general, you are wrong.

But I dont think a discussion makes sense, since I wont change my mind. I dont think that either side is hard to play, there are games which require far more skill than DBD.

This comment made me laugh openly at work.

"It's not like playing Killer is hard in general".

#########, please. If you're saying that, clearly you have yet to see what true suffering is in this game.

Maybe I am just better than you, if you really have to suffer while playing Killer? DBD is an easy game in general, there is nothing hard about it.

OK so are you saying that if a sacrificial ward is burned and a map offering is not used, then the sacrificial ward should also not be burned? If so, then maybe your solution to just spam sacrificial wards every match is more realistic.

Let me explain, it's not purely about me wanting to burn survivor puddings and just get blood points all the time. I don't have a "main" killer, I'm new to the game and I'm still trying out pretty much all the Killers. It's really unrealistic for me to run a sacrificial ward every match. I'd basically have to run through multiple bloodwebs before every game, as you don't always see them in the bloodweb. We're talking burning 50k bloodpoints or something before every game. Sure I can still unlock perks as I go. If you are saying that sacrificial wards will also be protected if a map offering was not burnt, then maybe this is fair.

In contrast, given a 3 man swf, they can just run the same survivor, since the gameplay difference between survivors is non-existent. So it's much easier for them to stockpile map offerings on one survivor than it is for me stockpile sacrificial wards across multiple killers. Then on top of that, they can literally stockpile offerings across their profiles since they will always play together. It's much easier for them to ensure they play the same map every game, than it is for me to prevent this in all matches across all Killers.

I am not talking about Sacrificial Wards, I am talking about Map Offerings. I have never used the word Sacrificial Ward at all, in my opinion, those are pretty useless. Only the Killer can really use them if they suspect that they go against Survivors who might burn a Map Offering (which is already ridiculous how much the Killer has to guess at this point, for Survivors the Wards are pretty much useless).

I was talking about burning a Map Offering, even if Survivors burn one, you at least have a chance that your Map is picked. And if not, the Offering which was not used, should not be burned. Again - not talking about Sacrificial Wards here (even tho, those would clearly be better if they would not be burned if no Map Offering is played).

While Survivors indeed can stockpile Offerings, since not everyone plays every Survivor, I rarely see Map Offerings. They are not common, I have like 90 Strode Reality Keys and never use them, but this means that other Survivors have a similar number of Map Offerings, I am most likely not the exception. So its not like Map Offerings are used frequently.

And once the Maps are reworked, it should be better, at least no Killer should have the feeling that the game is over when the Survivors burn a Strode Reality Key (for example).

  • Balance over Realism.

Imagine how bad DBD would be, if you would have to walk most of the time, because the Survivor is exhausted. Or Survivors basically that heavily injured after getting hit, stepping into a Beartrap, getting hooked that it is not logical that they can go on.

Or if Killers can actually get hurt by Pallets with smaller Killers like Legion or Hag taking less Pallets than strongly build Killers like Trapper or Oni (with that logic, Myers would need to be immune to that, given how much he can take in his movies). Or if Hillbilly can actually break his Chainsaw once it is overheated.

Yes, all those things are not realistic at all, but for gameplay-reasons, it is fine as they are solved now.

I'm not going to bother explaining to you again how the killer managing to burn an offering against SWFs which are not always obviously SWF is not a realistic system. I already explained that and also supersonic did a good job explaining it twice in the messages above too.

Also I disagree with your other point too. How can you say to me I should have to burn a sacrificial ward each time and run the risk of losing that, yet a SWF who burn a map offering and somehow still don't get the map should get their offering back.

Do you main survivor swf by any chance?

"Also I disagree with your other point too. How can you say to me I should have to burn a sacrificial ward each time and run the risk of losing that, yet a SWF who burn a map offering and somehow still don't get the map should get their offering back."

What? I did not say that. I said that the Offering which is not used should not be burned. This goes for both sides. If a Killer burns a Map Offering (like an Indoor Map for Ghostface, Wraith, whatever) and gets the Map requested by the Survivors, they should not lose their Offering. Same the other way around.

And nope, I am playing both sides pretty equal, both Rank 1, I do play only 2-man SWF when playing Survivor tho, if I play alone, I play Killer. And I never use Map Offerings as Survivor and only sometimes as Killer (mostly Mirror Myers on Lerys or for an Archive-Challenge).

(For me personally, they can remove Map Offerings, I dont use them that much, like I said. However, I also think it is totally fine to burn them, I also see Survivors burn MacMillan, probably just to have a normal game on a balanced Map. I also dont think that it is bad that some Maps are survivor-sided and some are killer-sided, it is more the case of how much they favor one side, and this will be dealt with with the Map Reworks)

You highly underestimate how strong that middle area is, not only is it guaranteed tiles, but also chained tiles. I've had setups where I literally cannot be caught until the windows get entity blocked, and if they do there's most likely another tile nearby to break BL.

The breakable wall in main isn't the issue, that's just a side issue that shouldn't be in the game in the first place. The issue is that with a slight amount of distance the building can be looped around over and over with no killer interaction, it may as well be an infinite (obv excluding certain killers like nurse).

Sure, if the killer is on your ass literally then the window won't do much, but give it a slight bit of distance and you can use the window 3 times over or until it gets entity blocked.

As for it being large, I should've said that the distance between gens is large, which forces you to 3 gen. This can be both good and bad depending on the situation. Against people who know how to split gens, you have to start holding a 3 gen down early giving you less time to work with.

As for badham, every survivor just runs to a building when hit so ignoring them makes you lose a lot of chases. Not only that gens are in these buildings so if the survivors do open gens and leave the ones in buildings to last there's very little you can do.

The Breakable Walls make the Buldings weak and they are not even close to be an infinite then. And without the Walls, after the Reworks, those Main Buldings did not have anything, they got a bit stronger because of those, but thats it. In an ideal world, Breakable Walls would not exist, I dont like them, but I dont think they are badly placed (except for the Storehouse, where they removed the Pallets for a strong Window, which becomes weak once the wall is broken and on the Saloon, which needs multiple Walls to break).

"As for it being large, I should've said that the distance between gens is large, which forces you to 3 gen. This can be both good and bad depending on the situation. Against people who know how to split gens, you have to start holding a 3 gen down early giving you less time to work with."

Ok, I can get behind that, however, every Killer who can start chasing Survivors right from the start (so Killers who dont need Setup), can patrol basically the whole map. And Survivors mess up those Maps like Resting Place or Suffocation Pit quite often, I cannot count how often one Gen I left on 99% on one side got finished by someone who did not even think one second why that Gen was only ALMOST finished.

And for Setup-Killers, those can go for a 3-Gen. I dont see much of an issue here, even if someone is going for a 3 Gen right from the start on those Maps, this is a legit strategy and not a bad one either.

"As for badham, every survivor just runs to a building when hit so ignoring them makes you lose a lot of chases. Not only that gens are in these buildings so if the survivors do open gens and leave the ones in buildings to last there's very little you can do."

When Bloodlust was disabled, I got Badham quite often (apparently it was bugged during that time, appearing more often than usual), and I did fine. And I am mostly playing M1-Killers, so no Nurse or Spirit or stuff like that.

From my own experience, the Maps mentioned are good playable as Killer. And I would not consider myself a really good Killer, so I am pretty sure that many others will do well on those Maps as well.
