  • If you get looped for 3 minutes as Spirit, this is clearly a "you-problem". If you cannot see that, you should clearly first take your time to be better at the game before complaining about it.

Let alone that the Swamp cannot spawn with that many Windows AND Pallets under the footbridge.

I don't know; some I'll agree to, like when Nea's stomach just disappears, but some actually look really nice seperated. For example, Jane's goddess hair on top of her rift skin:

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/K8M5YQCYFI0E/image.png

Or Pyramid Head's fire sword with his prestige skin (because imho his fire head + body doesn't look great):

    https://us.v-cdn.net/6030815/uploads/JAZBNJ02L5L4/image.png

So I kinda hope that it doesn't get fixed soon. Especially considering some of the other bugs in the game that should be fixed a lot sooner than this.

I dont know, I had a bunch of hideous looking Neas today in my Lobbies, green Hair with the Set-Hoodie, holes in the Bodies. Looked horrible.

Sure, some things look nice, but IMO stuff that should not be mixed with other cosmetics should be kept as a Set. And if someone does not like it, they should not buy it.

(But I know that this would be way too easy and Sets are one thing in the cycle of complaints here)

  • At least you dont get banned.

But I hope they fix it at some point, because it looks horrible if the Sets are mixed with other Cosmetics.

  • Because he is still there. He is just invisible, but there is still someone with a body walking around (he can also bodyblock while cloaked, invisibility neither removes this nor his footsteps).

But they should be more quiet, same with his Breathing while cloaked.

how did he tunnel her, she obviously has DS and mostlikely even unbreakable therefore she has 1 minute of immortality, by putting her into dying state you save yourself some time by not letting her do a gen for all those 60 seconds where you cant do anything to her, like why should he just let her leave? insane how this is considered tunneling

He even waited for the I-frames to end... Of course he tunneled her. But I can see if Killers dont see this as tunneling, how they think they got hit by DS by "not tunneling".

To be fair doc has all these that youve listed as well except for the map mobility and i don't see that many nerf doc threads and that many dcs as doc. Theres also the infamous impossible skillcheck doc build and his ability to counter stealth completly with iron maiden. Id take 5 freddies over a doc on the game. I think its moreso a classic case of bandwagon since as spirit and nurse i get less dcs then as freddy and their stronger then him.

Doc takes more to learn. I mean, I cannot say for sure how it is when someone is just picking up Doctor, because when I started to play him, he had to switch Stances, which put him on a way higher Skill Cap, because his Anti-Loop was pretty mediocre if you cannot get the timing right. So Doctor got easier.

But I know that I did Freddy-Dailies with just Fire Up 1 and got 4Ks.

But I would still say that he is harder to play than Freddy, because he still has a small Delay and goes to 4,4m/s when shocking, while Freddy stays at 4,6 m/s. Also he cannot teleport across the Map and does not have Slowdown-Add Ons. He also has built-in Slowdown, but snapping out of it is faster than running across the Map to get a Clock. The only thing that Doctor has over Freddy is the Anti-Stealth.

When it comes to Lullaby, this was mainly consistency. There were no Skill Checks apart from Healing and Repairing which were affected by Lullaby EXCEPT Snap out of it. No Jigsaw Boxes (years ago they were also affected, but this was changed long before the recent Lullaby-Change), no Cages. Also, not everyone is an experienced player and there is a huge difference if Lullaby affects Healing and Repairing or if Lullaby affects Snap Out of It.

The first two are screwing up your Objective, the latter means that you cannot play the game.

  • This one.

Devs know about the topic, they also know what people are bothered about. Personally, I dont think that everyone complaining is really complaining about hooking other people before getting hit by DS or anything like that.

But everyone who opens a new Thread about this topic seems to think that their Thread is special, while they are not. No point in writing the same stuff which other people have written already.

I ######### up cause I changed the title so it isnt clickbait but forgot to change the first line ma bad

Still, then your post is a bait.

Freddy has basically everything, Anti-Loop ability without Cooldown, Slowdown-Add Ons, built-in slowdown (waking up at Clocks), Map Mobility...

He is not as strong as Nurse or Spirit, but it can be discussed if he is one of the Top 5 Killers (many candidates for that). He is way too strong for how easy he is to play.

  • I didnt really understand you, did you mean the title is a joke or your post? The post is at least bait.

  • One Thread was not enough?

This also will promote solo play which is healthy for this game. So you're still able to play with your friends for fun but you can't abuse the system for own advantage

you think making the maps darker to almost pitch black is the thing that will make deadlight scarier?

Nah, its just funny that nobody wants dark Maps, but want to insist that DBD is a Horrorgame. The new The Game was fine lightning-wise, the Top was darker (Live-Version is simply way too bright) and the bottom was brighter (which was too dark in the Corners on Live).

  • I mean, just another Map that will be way too bright in the future. New Meatplant was great when it came to Lightning.

Always wondering where the "Make DBD more scary"-people are, when it comes to darker Maps...

Regarding the UI, I hope it does not go live.

  • @UncleStabby said:

Okay, we gotta talk about the beartraps. Simply put, they don't do their job. They suck, in fact.

The way I see it, they were supposed to be a way to apply pressure by forcing the survivors to actively seek out their key before they die instead of healing or doing gens. Theres just one problem: they don't do that.

As it is now, placing an RBT on a survivor doesn't seem to change anything, because more often than not, the first or second box they go to is the one and they get it off before its even active. So here are my proposed changes:

First, the Jigsaw Boxes should NOT be interactable until the trap is active. Think about it: the Game never started in Saw until the stakes were high, and Amanda's Game with her own RBT didn't begin until it was active! It only makes sense.

Second, the trap should apply either Broken or Mangled to the survivor its attached to by default, no addons required. Probably Mangled would be the more balanced option. I just feel like having one on your head without an addon just makes it... not threatening enough, you know?

What do you guys think? How would you change the RBT, or even the charge for that matter, to make Piggy a bit more viable?

"First, the Jigsaw Boxes should NOT be interactable until the trap is active. Think about it: the Game never started in Saw until the stakes were high, and Amanda's Game with her own RBT didn't begin until it was active! It only makes sense."

This would basically the same like Ruleset Number 2 Basekit. This is actually quite bad, because it would force Survivors to do Gens before getting rid of the RBTs, currently, most of the time Survivors go for the Boxes, which means that the Pig has Slowdown. But when Survivors have to have an active Beartrap to see the Boxes (or can interact with them), they will do Gens, which is worse than them running around.

"Second, the trap should apply either Broken or Mangled to the survivor its attached to by default, no addons required. Probably Mangled would be the more balanced option. I just feel like having one on your head without an addon just makes it... not threatening enough, you know?"

Please no. Add Ons which apply Mangled, Broken, Exhaustion to Beartraps should not exist and those who already exist should go. And it should not be Basekit, because it just encourages the tunneling Playstyle of bad Pig-Players. Stuff like "This person cannot heal" or "It will take longer for them to be healed" just encourages this.

In general, the Traps should not result in Death on a frequent basis, they should be timewasters. There were ideas that each Trap has a fixed number of attemps (1, 2, 3 or 4), which means that one person will get the Trap off in their first try, another person has to do 2 Boxes and so on (not in an order, just randomly).

But overall, I dont think that the Traps need any work, in fact, I would wish for less focus on the RBTs when they give Pig some Love and more focus on her Dash and Stealth.

  • Pigs 28 meters would be great, because I would not have to use M&A on her anymore when paired with Whispers. But sadly, not going to happen, since it should be consistent.

I would like to have back old Balanced Landing. At least when all Maps are reworked.

  • Cheaters get banned, even without video evidence. I reported a Cheater last year, he got banned some time later. Of course I dont know exactly if he got banned because of my report, but he did not play DBD since July 2020 and he got a VAC-Ban around this time.

The thing is, cheaters dont get banned immediatly, they get banned in waves. First BHVR seems to look what causes the Cheat/Hack and then people will be banned in waves.

  • @Nameless said:

There should be more to prestiging up than getting some cosmetics, especially because in the end anyone can prestige. You're not being rewarded for skill, which would be a bit unfair, but you're being rewarded for the amount of time you spent on the game. It would be rewarding the people devoted to your game. The lack of anything useful makes it a waste of BP (unless of course you just like the cosmetic).

There were talks about Prestige Rewards, but nothing came up since then. I doubt that those will be anything big, because in the end, while anyone can prestige, nobody should be forced to prestige. Some players have their Characters onl P0-50 for years, have all Perks unlocked, full of Add-Ons. Would be wrong to give them the choice to either miss out on something cool or to get everything again.

  • If you want the Cosmetics or are a completionist, go for it. If you dont care for either of them, dont prestige.

  • @Axe said:

Something.... Something license set only being used with its own set... something, something license...

Might be a reason. I have never seen anything about the Glitch with the Nea Head-Cosmetic from the Set.

Could be entirely possible that BHVR will get legal issues with Konami, they will not like to see Screenshots of their cosmetics going around when looking like that.

  • In 5400 hours at max 10 Hackers. The majority of those in one week, Speedhacks, flying, Billy with Kindred, Zarina with 3rd Year Anniversary Cake... From harmless hacks to gamebreaking stuff, everything.

But in general, I rarely encounter hackers.

  • I dont think that this will happen. It totally SHOULD be a thing, especially on the Survivor Side, so much stuff became nearly useless or not worth the BPs anymore, so I would gladly trade everything in.

However, this would mean that I would get MILLIONS of BPs just on my Main Survivor. If I then think about removing all the stuff from other Survivors and Killer Add-Ons I never will use (e.g. I play Nurse without Add Ons, so I dont need any of them, I also dont need most Add Ons, because I never play them), I will have so many BPs. So when a new Chapter comes out, I would probably be maxing out a Character immediatly.

And others will have even more stuff.

So if they implement something like a sellback-option, this would be either for a really small amount of BPs or be capped so that some people cannot just get Millions of BPs in a Blink.

  • Nah, you are not. Even 4 man SWFs are not unbeatable, won against a 4 man SWF two days ago with Demo (BBQ, Infectious Fright, STBFL, Corrupt Intervention). Stories like that you need to play Nurse or Spirit or that you need to have Ruin/Undying are simply lies.

In general, playing Killer in DBD is not really stressful in my opinion for the most Part. Sure, there are games where I am beaten like there is no tomorrow (e.g. 1 game with Billy on Hawkins I knew I was going against good players in a 4 man SWF, all very nice people (two of them wanted to gift me a Kill in the end, but I refused), but I knew in the Lobby that this is gonna be a really tough game), but those are not the majority.

I am always wondering how players can struggle that much with the game, because while Killer is clearly harder to play, it is not that hard in general (and funnily enough, I did not manage to get to Rank 1 as Survivor for whatever reason, but am Rank 1 as Killer since the 15th). So when other players struggle, there are only a few explanations:

    • I am a god (I am not)
    • They are not as good as they think they are (likely)
    • They really get other Matchmaking than me (unlikely)
    • They are exaggerating (most likely)

If I look at the quality of Survivors in Red Ranks, I really cannot believe how someone can claim that they are losing most of their games. Sometimes I play a game as Killer and think I am beating up some Low Rank Survivors, just to see that they are all Red Ranks. And this is for Killer as well, running some Bubba around for a very long time (I am not that good at Looping), thinking he is Rank 12 or something, and in the Endscreen he drops from 1 to 2.

  • @EvilJoshy said:

The "community" doesn't have a problem with spirit. "Survivor mains"(The ones that suck against her) have a problem with Spirit.

Everyone who is not totally biased towards Killers knows that Spirit is a bad gamedesign. Killer Mains say that as well, if they have some form of empathy for the other side.

  • Hit Validation will never work. First of all, when does the Lag-Symbol appear? I think the grey Symbol appears on 200 Ping or something like that? This is already way to high, but this would mean that anything under 200 is good Ping. Which is clearly not.

Then it comes to Dedicated Servers - there are regions where no Dedicated Server is nearby. This means that those players living in those regions will have high ping, there is no way around it. And when it comes to Hit Validation, you cannot make a system which makes Hits with high Ping not count AND Servers which result in high Ping.

E.g. Russians have quite high Ping usually, because they are connecting to EU-Servers. Nothing the Russian players can do at this point. Sure, in theory Hit Validation could prioritize the player with the better Ping, but it isnt, because this would also be pretty unfair. This would mean that Russian players cannot reliable hit Survivors who live closer to the Servers, while not being able to do anything about it.

To have fairer Hits, we would need to go back to P2P. This will not happen. But at the very least (and this SHOULD 100% be done) the Ping of the Killer should be shown in the Lobby.

I don't know about the rest but sure would be nice to know who your obsession is at the beginning of trial before losing any stbfl stacks to find out and the portraits will help with that. Also as for hook counters I can think of multiple times where i swore a survivor had one more hook state left and they didn't the 4th got hatch because of it (I like to maximize points so I extend games).

Like I said, I dont need it, was completely my opinion. I have so many hours in this game and never felt the need for those features, so I will not need them in general. e.g. for the Obsession, I wait shortly before hitting them and for Hooks, I can remember it.

Surely does not mean that everyone can remember that, was just speaking for my own experience.

According to a Forum Post they have 5 days to change things. This was mentioned regaarding the Twins-Chapter, if it is the same for the Midchapter (I guess so, since they need to make sure that the Update will roll out on all Platforms when it should), then they already changed the UI back or did not do so.

The only thing wrong with the DC penalty is that it is not long enough.

The length is fine. During the past days my game actually crashed (which is a rare occasion) and yesterday the game of my friend crashed. This does not happen often, but if this would result in a bigger penalty, it would be really annoying.

  • I doubt that there will be some statement before, I guess we will know when the Patch goes live and see the Patch Notes/Chapter Content.

Also not sure if they are even able to change much between PTB and Live Release, because if we remember, Content for The Twins also needed to be brought to the game via Hotfixes, despite being reported from the players on Day 1 of the PTB.

BUT BHVR will know that the majority of players are unhappy with the UI-Changes. The Forum, Social Media and basically every Streamer I watched did not like the changes.

IF for whatever reason the Devs want to stick with the new UI, they better write exactly WHY they wanted to change it, including what future features will be added. Because the Features added are not really needed (in my opinion, I dont need any Hook Counters or Potraits from Survivors, I also dont need to know which Button is M2 and what to do in the game) and even if they think they are needed, there was no reason to change the UI in that way just for those features.

You should suggest it on the survey. Then you can do the survey!

Did this for the last few Surveys already, some Code for BPs or something like that. Yes, it will most likely be leaked (except if they can make it personal or one-time use, if that is possible), but something for completing it would be a Win-Win for both BHVR and the player.

  • If they plan to make the game more scary, not how the classical forum user wants to have it. Usually the "Make DBD scarier"-Threads are just "Nerf Survivor-"Threads.

I guess, if they want to make it more scary, they are talking about graphics, sounds and ambience.

  • Probably in around 2 weeks, if they follow the regular schedule (3 weeks after PTB-start). No official date yet.

  • Jeff wasnt even in the Legion-Trailer. So I dont think that the Legion-Members would have any thoughts about him.

  • While Object of Obsession clearly needs a change, bringing a Killer-Perk Version which would be even more broken is quite poor logic.

  • Freddy, the Chases are just dull. You can clearly see how some of those play when you are awake for a while (e.g. just got a clock, Freddy arrives for a chase). They are so helpless sometimes against awake Survivors, but get their Hits due to the poor design of Freddy.

Hag would also be a contestant for Spot Number 1, but I luckily dont see her often.

A while I really hated to go against Twins, because some players just love to go all in on their camping potential, but the Twins-players over the last days were alright.

  • IMO Adrenaline is overrated and you dont see it that often anymore. Most of the time when I go against Survivors, those who have Adrenaline are Megs, but thats about it.

When I used Adrenaline, there were indeed situations where it saved me, but most of the time I just get it in the middle of nowhere, not in chase, already healthy, which just gives me a Speedbost and Exhaustion, to block my other Exhaustion Perk.

  • I can only say for myself, but I find her boring to play as. The Hits dont really feel deserved, Spirit is probably the Killer with the second-most 4Ks on my side (first one is Hag, lol), still I dont enjoy her. When going against her, I see quite a few Spirits, but the less, the better.

I see a lot of Huntress, yesterday I went against like 6 of them. Also for some reason I see at least 2 Bubbas every day lately.

the timer is slowed down by half when a survivor is on hook or dying, so it's unlikely it's going to be a problem when going for rescues. besides in egc with decisive strike or borrowed time it's usually a guaranteed escape anyways. blood warden is garbage and is countered by leaving. it's really not killer sided, it's basically telling the survivors to stop stalling and do your rescue or escape somewhat quicker. if a killer has to really depend on egc for kills and defending hooked survivor, that means they've already lost the game.

i do admit it is killer sided in the fact that survivors don't have infinite time to stall, but it barely makes a difference in the outcome of a game, which is what really matters.

"but it barely makes a difference in the outcome of a game, which is what really matters."

It should not make a difference in the outcome of a game. It is not meant to be a hand-holding mechanic for Killers.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1881015#Comment_1881015

so what is this notion that egc is killer-sided? if anything, it's just a flawed system to get rid of infinite games and hatch duels.

EGC is killer-sided, simply for the fact that the Survivors die instead of escape. But in general, yes, it is just a mechanic to bring an end to the game. And it is not flawed at all under this aspect.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1880900#Comment_1880900

tell me how many times a survivor has died to egc in your last 25 games. probably max 1 and that's because of hiding all game. i've not seen more than 1 survivor in my last 25 games die to egc when the exit gates were open. the only thing i really notice is the elimination of hatch duels and survs hiding forever

if they have to completely rework the game so be it. it's their job to make the game balanced, and it won't be fixed by pasting band-aid perks

Survivors should not die to EGC tho. EGC is not a thing to give Killers more Kills.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1880850#Comment_1880850

Doesnt matter, there is not a single reason as a solo survivor to use a map offering. Survivor builds dont really depend on any maps. The only reason for solo survivors to use a map offering is to get a bigger map so the killer has to move a bigger distance towards them. That is a massive disadvantage for killers while being a massive advantage for survivors.

Especially if the killer used a build that requires a lot of walls, for example, then the game is literally unplayable for that killer.

I mean, the same logic applies to hook distance offerings. You need 3,5(so, essentially 3) survivor hook offerings to cancel out 1 killer hook offering, and hook offerings arent even that much of an impact on the game.

You cant balance offerings based on solo survivors if they have the same effect on SWF. Killer offerings should at least require 2 survivor offerings to be cancelled out. It's an assymetrical game, not a single survivor should be able to fully counter a killer.

"I mean, the same logic applies to hook distance offerings. You need 3,5(so, essentially 3) survivor hook offerings to cancel out 1 killer hook offering, and hook offerings arent even that much of an impact on the game."

Your logic is really flawed here. The reason why Hook Offerings are weaker on the Survivor Side is not that the Killer can counter them, it is because 4 players can take them. Imagine they would be as strong as the Killer Version, 4 Survivors bringing a Purple Hook Offering would mean that the Killer does not really have Hooks on the Map. And Hooks are a basic mechanic of the game, a Killer needs to hook Survivors to actually play the game.

But Map Offerings dont deny anything what the Killer can do, even if it is a Map the Killer does not like.

IMO it is also fine to have Survivor-sided and Killer-sided Maps, even tho, those we currently have need to be less one-sided.

Like I said, the only difference should be that the Map Offering which did not provide the Map should be kept. Otherwise Map Offerings are totally fine.

  • This would make Map Offerings basically useless for Solos. It is fine if the Map Offerings are considered equally and it is a 50/50 if the Survivor Offering is taken or not.

The only change that can be done is that the Offering that is not used (aka when the Map does not show up) is not gone and can be used for another game.

  • From what I understand, you want something that surpresses Aura Reading from the Killer. There are already a bunch of counters against Aura Reading, e.g. against BBQ you can hide in Lockers or behind unfinished Gens. Against Nurses Calling, you can figure out that the Killer has it when they come to you OR you dont heal in the Terror Radius anyway.

Distortion is a Perk that blocks Aura Reading 3 times, this might be an option (even tho, this Perk can be buffed, it is not even mediocre).

My personal opinion is that I dont need more Stealth in this game. The Devs are quite clearly getting away from it with unavoidable Reveal-Mechanics (Killer Instinct, Blood Orbs from Oni, loud noises because of sickness for example), and personally, I dont like to go against stealthy Survivors at all.

  • Might come, might not. IMO it is not really needed, there is Corrupt Intervention and it is totally fine to invest a Perk Slot for that.

I can also imagine that it is a pain to balance such a thing, because something that affects all Killers will be hard to balance, considering that something that is helpful for Trapper is completely unneccessary and probably oppressive on Spirit ( for example).

Because it may encourage farming, making the game potentially endless other than flat and hence boring. When in a match you are capped at 8,000 points on objectives - assuming you get iridescent emblem - then you can focus on doing something different, at the advantage of the team.

I think @Tsulan is talking about the Category Cap. This should indeed be removed. Your example with 8000 points on Objective is pretty flawed, if I do two Gens with another Survivor, I am almost maxed out, with Prove Thyself I am maxed out after 1 1/2 Gens, I think.

But does this mean I should not do Gens anymore and do something else? No. What about getting chased while maxed out Boldness? Should I not get any BPs for that?

The Category Cap should go, especially because the Survival-Category is quite difficult to max out. On the Killer Side for some Killers, Deviousness is hard to get, but you max out in Hunting and Brutality pretty easy.

It has been for a bit, but I feel like it's gotten worse just in the last few days.

I went from having two or three Green Ranks in my Red Rank Killer lobbies to having all White Ranks and I have no explanation as to why.

Before, I could explain it away as a SWF, even if they denied it, but now I cannot do that.

Either the matchmaker is really broken this time or something is up.

And honestly, it isn't fair to those players at all. They should NOT be getting matched with me.

I mean, here are a few games where I took Screenshots, the last one is after Rank Reset:

    Screenshot1.jpg Screenshot2.jpg Screenshot3.jpg

(Chat censored in the first screenshot because the Killer was not really happy with the game...)

The thing what happened before the Rank Reset was that whenever a Console-player was on either side, the Matchmaking seems weird. Currently this is the same, but sometimes I also get matches like the last one. I knew from the start that something was odd because the Neas went down while the Nurse wasnt even blinking.

Something is not working correctly, this is right. But I doubt that it is MMR, when it would have been MMR, the Nurse would have been more experienced, but she is clearly starting to play Nurse. And with the Plague-game, the Survivors were not really good enough, they went down quickly, however, I am not a good Plague-player, but if I get matched with people on my Skill Level, it should have been a more close game than it was.

Currently, as Killer, I get Red Ranks. Even when playing the Twins (in my first games with them, currently prestiging them), I get the usual Matchmaking. As Survivor, it is kinda odd, like yesterday I had a Claudette in my Team who had 20 hours of playtime.

EDIT: IF MMR is really on (like I said, I doubt it), then they should disable it, because it is not working, lol.

  • It was Rainbow-Matchmaking for a while now. I doubt that MMR is turned on, it does not feel like it.

”Tunneled the Laurie” when the survivors are literally looping around the hook and then go in for the save in front of the killers face.

They did not force him to go for the unhooked person, eh? But yeah, its the Lauries fault, I forgot the logic on this Forum for a moment.

  • Yeah, there are some Lockers where you can get sucked into quite easily.

Like Cowshed Lockers, even when facing the Window. Or Lockers next to the Window on Father Campbells Chapel (when coming from outside, next to the stairs).

My Highlight was getting sucked into a locker which was like 2 meters away on Grim Pantry. Was against a Streamer, the VOD looked horribly bad, how I got sucked into that.

  • A Map with a big lake. There is not really any inclusion of water in the current Maps, would be happy to see a big Lake (even tho, this would probably mean it is in a Corner of the Map, because being in the center of a Map is quite hard to manage).
