Then maybe survivors shouldn't get so butthurt when killers tunnel and camp since its the best strategy to deal with genrush.

Also I look at it from both sides since I play both roles just as much, teabagging creates toxicity and there's no other way around it,people will use it to be toxic if they can.

But yeah sure, spread your toxicity around.

Really weak argument. But I did not expect anything to be honest.

Comparing tunneling and camping to teabagging is simply wrong. Tunneling and camping have actual impact on the gameplay. Teabagging has 0 impact on the gameplay.

  • @Adaez said:

BHVR could easily fix teabaggin by just putting a cooldown of 5 seconds on crouching but nah.

    Why should they?

    To please some butthurt Killers?

  • "I play killer most of the time"

You dont need to mention this. Only Killers can be so upset about something like spamming a button.

Let alone that this is easily counterable by just forcing them out. If you dont want to force them out because you think they do something to you with their teabagging, then you have to accept to wait those 2 minutes.

  • I guess you will manage.

I've noticed that too. Since custom matches is basically one big testing toy box, I think BHVR altered the bots slightly to ensure that the matches didn't end too quickly. Because yeah, they are REALLY efficient on generators!

Yeah, makes sense. They are probably designed to stop working on Gens (or at least be slower on them) once a certain amount is done to prolong the game a bit.

  • Where did all you "SWF with Comms is unbeatable"-Guys creep out recently? Did one content creator another video about SWFs or what happened?

  • @HoodedWildKard said:

Yh the bots act weird. They all split up unless one needs a heal. And they genrush like mad 🤣

Legion is perfectly fine against human players. They make mistakes. And tbh getting a 5 hit combo on legion is pretty rare. You need to entire team pretty close to each other. And for them to be dumb enough to not haul ass away when they see the first deep wound pop up.

I usually get 2/3 hits out of it and thats damn good value multiple injuries quickly. That they will struggle to heal safely and cost them lots o.f time

I dont know, I only had one game against Bots on the PTB. And they did Gens like crazy, but once they reached 2 Gens, they were so much slower. Really strange.

(I was not really playing seriously, basically just trying to figure out The Knight. But I really noticed that they started super-strong on Gens but then slowed down a lot)

Whether it's easy or not is another question. But why did survivors need to get handheld yet again for no reason lol?

It is not really "handheld", it is to compensate for Lag. If you are somewhat competent and at least not suck completely as Killer, you will be the victim to the same amount of flashlight saves as before - roughly 0.

    a little thing called hyperbole.

flshlight saves arent rare against people who bring them and are good at using them, though sure overall they are rare. but when they are in play yea multiple times a game they will get me if dont get them chased off beforehand.

and yes, they dont get distance if they pallet blind, that doesnt make it any less annoying to me personally

It honestly does not really matter if the Survivor is good with Flashlights or not. If you are bad at avoiding them, this is still on you. You are the one constant thing in your games, if you are bad at the game (and many players in DBD are really bad at the game), you should improve. E.g. not picking up someone in the open if you are not sure if someone with a Flashlight is nearby.

Furthermore, if you get annoyed by Flashlights at Pallets... Well, this is again, a YOU-thingy. Usually Killers benefit from Survivors doing blinds at Pallets. If you are that bothered by Flashlights, just bring Lightborn into every Match.

  • Holding W became popular once BHVR added more and more Killer which cannot be looped. And at this point, the Survivor can only hold W. It is certainly not the most skillful thing to do, but it is the only thing to do.

Furthermore, because holding W was efficient against those Killers, Survivors realized that it also works well against Killers who can be looped.

Do you know what is also not skillful, since you mention it? Bloodlust. A cheap handholding Mechanic which holds back good Map Design. As long as Bloodlust exists, Maps cannot be good (in my opinon, a good Map has tons of Pallets, most of then unsafe and a very small amount of safe Pallets. This would be perfect for Survivor and Killer - Killers can outplay Survivors at those Pallets and good Survivors can outplay Killers. And bad Survivors dont leave Deadzones).

The thing is, holding W and Bloodlust have one thing in common:

It works very good when you are not supposed to benefit from it. Sure you dont need to do "hold W" against a Trapper, yet it is so efficient that it can be done.

Sure, you are not supposed to Bloodlust 3 a somewhat strong Pallet, yet it will be done.

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3282780#Comment_3282780

yes, i hate having to constantly drop srvs im carrying or being blinded at every pallet

If the first thing really happens "constantly", then it is a big fat YOU-Problem. Flashlight-Saves are super rare, especially against Killers who are mildly competent. If it happens "constantly" to you, then you might want to stop staring into the Flashlight like a moth.

Blinding at Pallets - this is not that bad, it is more beneficial to the Killer than if they get distance.

  • Nah, the Killers who say that they want to see SWFs in the pre-game Lobby dont ask for this to change their build, they ask for this to dodge so that they can cherryipick their games.

  • Yeah, there should be caps. Caps how slow a Gen can be and how fast it can be. Same with Healing.

Agreed, I only do it so I can sit at 100% completion otherwise it will bug me just missing killer adepts

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3281997#Comment_3281997

You mean like they have to now? Because let me tell you if a killer isn't playing slightly "scummy" and gets their adept you played absolutely dreadful and that killer is way above your skill

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3282000#Comment_3282000

Yeah it's easy to get if you verse awful players I agree. But that dont happen often in my games and iv mention this before that some games can go so fast even with 9hooks 4k I dont get it....

That's just not fair, you cant have a system that punishes you for fast gens when you cant pick perks and also have the same system punish you if you down too fast. That's just not fair.

Happens, when you are a God at this game. Go down to the Level of us mortals and you will manage.

No, seriously, since you get set back top Ash IV there are so much less complaints about Killer Adepts. And you cannot really believe that all those players go against terrible Survivors all the time and you, only you, go against strong teams constantly.

  • I mean, previously I thought that it should be 4 Sacrifices (back then when 1 Hook-Moris were a thing and using them for the Adept would be pretty cheap).

However, since you get reset back to Ash 4 every month, I dont think Killer Adepts are hard to get anymore. Most likely not in the first game, but when I dont even struggle to get them (at Ash-Ranks tho), other Killers will most likely not struggle as well...

The possibility to play with friends versus the inability to do so alone is incentive enough to keep both sides at least on the same level of difficulty.

Otherwise if the solo role is harder, more stressful and not rewarding enough, why should anyone want to play that role?

It is not Killer is really hard or stressful. If you expect to 4K every game and lack the ability to do so, yes, then it might be unfun, but this is on you and your expectations. If I would expect to escape every game and dont do so, I would also be pretty pissed. But since I dont expect anything when playing either role in DBD, I can live with many outcomes.

Let alone, if you make Killer so easy that they can compete with 4 man SWFs, this would mean that there is not really an incentive to play Survivor. Killer is the role with more variaty, as long as you are not playing with friends or really love Survivor and really dislike Killer, there is not much which would make you play Survivor at this point.

And funny thing that you mention that the solo Role is miserable, while Solo Survivor is the most miserable thing in this game by a long shot. But I get probably jumped now by all the Surviivor God-Players on this forum who escape every game while playing Solo.

Wait I think I played against a Wesker with that build before.

I think we have played together. I was an elodie on Ormond. I think if was like a few days ago. Does that sound familiar?

I did not play that much during the last days, but if you are on EU-Servers, yes, this might be possible. :)

Even tho; I rarely recognize names when playing (let alone Maps). I have the same name ingame as on the Forums.

  • @Adaez said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/356669/why-did-flashlights-need-buffing

Because BHVR clearly wants survivor to be the easier role and make it so it takes the least amount of skill possible.

DBD is not really a skillful game to begin with. There are tons of games out there which require more Skill, DBD is pretty easy, regardless of the role you play.

And well, Survivor has to be the easier role. You need 4 Survivors and 1 Killer, it is by definition clear that Killer is harder (but it is not hard in general), because why should the team with 1 player have it easier than the team with 4 players? It would make 0 sense to play on the team with 4 players if it would be harder, so we would have very long queues for Killer if Killer would be easier than Survivor.

  • You are 100% not forced to run either of those. In fact, I almost never see Survivors with Hyperfocus, I think it is incredibly overhyped and since you are not going against Wesker on RPD basically any Match anymore (which was the case when Hyperfocus was new), you dont get Stake Out-Stacks on a regular basis, meaning it is harder to keep the Hyperfocus-Stacks.

I see Prove Thyself a lot, but this Perk is mostly used for the BPs. If you would remove the Bonus, the pickrate would drop a lot. And even if it is used a lot - two Survivors on one Gen with PTS is still better than two Survivors on two Gens without PTS for the Killer...

When it comes to Killer-Meta, yes, this is stacked Slowdown. And this is mainly because the Perks do synergize very well with each other. It is not only Eruption, it is at least Call of Brine on top of it. There is a really strong Synergy in the current Meta and the benefit is mostly gained by things the Killer does anyway - downing a Survivor for Eruption, hooking a Survivor for Pain Resonance, etc... Sure, you have to kick Gens, but this is not even that bad anymore if you pair it with Call of Brine and/or Overcharge and the initial kick also shaves of more progress than before.

And well, stacking Slowdowns is the easiest way to play Killer, so I guess this is why it is used so much.

But from my own experience, you dont need to stack Slowdowns. I mainly run Corrupt Intervention on some Killers and I am doing fine. If I play Wesker with Lethal Pursuer, Floods of Rage, Brutal Strength and Dissolution, I will probably win less games compared to using Eruption, Call of Brine, Overcharge and Pain Resonance, but at least I have more fun this way...

  • The number of Pallets on Shattered Square is not intended, the one on The Game is intended.

And you cannot really argue against the number of Pallets on The Game, unless you are totally biased and want Survivors to go down without any Chance.

The Game has a very small amount of Windows. And barely any of those are actually useable in a Chase. If Survivors have Windows and Pallets for chases and one of them is available in such a low amount, it just makes sense that the other ressource is available in higher numbers.

Also, some of the Pallets on The Game are not even useable because they are next to Doors, which need to be opened by either completing a Generator or if the Killer breaks the Wall (and Killers never break Walls on The Game, because it is pointless to do so).

It is not that hard to see why The Game has so many Pallets. You may not like it, but it makes perfect sense why it is that way.

    So how to solve this?

Short term-->Remove all Breakable Walls on The Game and remove some Pallets which got added to compensate for blocked doorways.

Long term-->Add more Windows and unsafe Pallets, reduce the number of safe Pallets. Makes the Map more interactive to play on, it has always been one of the most boring Maps for both sides.

But what if the flash lighter is bait and the downer has unbreakable or a random runs in and uses a syringe?

    Inquiring minds must know......

    *Let's out a evil laugh*

    Then its unlucky.

Why do Killers think they are entitled to get a Hit once they found a Survivor, get a Down once they injured them, get a pickup once they downed them and get a Hook once they picked them up?

So many things can happen in between and this is just how the game works. Otherwise we can start to say that Killers just have to look at a Survivor and then this Survivor gets teleported to a Hook.

  • @VikingDragonXii said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3281765#Comment_3281765

But how do you do a 180 turn while in a animation lock from the pickup?

Ok, it seems like avoiding Flashlight-Saves IS rocketscience.

You do the turn before the pickup. Or, as I said, dont pick someone up if someone else is nearby. In the end, the person slugged on the ground and the one hovering around for the Save are also two people not on Gens...

  • @danielmaster87 said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3281715#Comment_3281715

So a killer downs someone in the middle of the map where there's no walls to look into, and people with flashlights are hovering around, and that's the killer's mistake? You are right about it being game-ending though. Start the chase all over again.

The hatch change was literally a numbers change, which took a year of planning to come up with, and it still hasn't solved people escaping for free. Some nerf.

If you know someone is nearby, you can hit them instead of picking up. And regarding pickups, a 180-turn should also do enough that the Survivor does not get into position.

Really, it is not rocketscience to avoid a Flashlight-Save, Flashlights are still the weakest Item by far and it was more like a Killer-Buff, because now even more Survivors try for Flashlight-Saves and dont bring Medkits instead...

  • But which excuse should Killers bring then if they lose a game?

  • Point 1: Not good. This would mean that Hostage Situations can take place. Yes, the Killer can open the Exit Gate in this case, however, if they dont want to do that, the Survivor has no chance of getting out of the match by any means. There is a reason why EGC starts and Gates are powered when the Hatch is closed, to give the last Survivor an actual incentive to keep playing.

Point 2: Pointless, really. The only purpose of the Hatch is this case are some extra BPs. No point in changing that.

  • @[Deleted User] said:

    https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/3280564#Comment_3280564

Assuming that 2 survivors leave the gens while the killer is in a chase still, and that the killer gets the next chase in the same second as the hook, yes.

But in reality they all stay on the gens until the killer gets the hook.

You are making fun of the killers claim, and i provided you with all you need to confirm how fast gens can be done.

    • Instead of diving into that, you decide to argue with me.

I would again encurage you to look into it, i have done it before with great detail on gen repair and regression speeds, survivor perks, items and addons. I will not do it for you as it took some time. - Its your own responibility that you stay updated with facts, not mine. (it does require a little math)

I mean, I dont want to sound rude, but if you look at my postcount, you see that I spend way too much time on the DBD-Forums. And I spend way too much time on DBD itself.

I dont need to look at a Wiki-Link to know various numbers when it comes to Generators.

  • If OP claims that their Chases were 30 seconds and this twice, they got two Downs in one Minute. This is faster than one Gen needs to complete, let alone that one one Survivor is hooked, it is very unlikely that 3 Survivors are still doing Gens. Ideally you end up with 1 Survivor doing Gens, because you have one person hooked, one going for the rescue and one who is being chased.

Claiming that the chases only took 30 seconds is just wrong. If the chases were that fast, 3 Gens would not pop. Unless OP is going against like 6 Survivors.

  • I am very sure that your Chases are not that short when 3 Gens pop.

But this is a common thing in the DBD-Community - Killers ALWAYS end Chases in under 30 seconds and still lose and Survivors ALWAYS get chased for 5+ minutes and still lose. And both obviously say the truth, because it is on the internet. /s

  • Cannot be countered. Even tho, I would be happy if they would not implement Killer Instinct in almost every Killer Power since its introduction. Knight does not have it, but since Legion, so many Killers have some form of Killer Instinct. And some are not really needed, e.g. Weskers Killer Instinct or especially Artist.

  • There are like a billion Threads about it and the Devs have thought about regressing Exit Gates, but decided against it. So as a Basegame-Feature, no, not at all.

As a Perk, maybe, but you would really change much, because then one person would just stay at the Exit Gate (they do have to stay there anyway, because if the other Survivors arrive with the Killer, one needs to open it). And nobody would probably run this Perk anyway.

  • Are you sure that you still had Endurance? Or was only Off the Record still active?

You can already lose your Endurance (e.g. by doing a conspicious action like repairing or healing), but OTR stays active because the other Benefits (blocking of Auras and Grunts of Pain) are still active.

  • This Survivor Rulebook-BS is so 2017, it is not even funny anymore. Let alone that Killers also get offended by the mildest things you can imagine.

Are you sure you got it with that specific move in that match?

I've just got a game with 3 hits (on two survivors). Double recharge, about 10 meter blinks each (double blink hit, blink hit, blink hit and ... no progress 😨).

All I got is the guilt using a double recharge against average survivors (with an accusation of hacking at the end, to give you an idea of how lost they were).

Nurse Calling, Nowhere to hide, Lethal Pursuer, Franklin*

*) Because greedy survivors** will go back to get their item.

**) Most of them, including myself 😅

    Yes.

But it also took several games, I was quite sure that it is bugged at some point, because I was very sure that I got those two Hits in 15 seconds, but I did not get the challenge done.

What I did was: Hit the first Survivor with a Lethal Blink-->Blink again and down them-->Go for another Survivor who got revealed by Infectious Fright and hit them. I was sure to have done that in 15 seconds, but I was probably a second or so off.

  • @drsoontm said:

If blinks count, then it's easy.

But the description explicitly says "with a basic attack" (hence my question).

I almost never use add-ons but if it's on the menu, I know what I need to do.

    Thanks

    Blinks are Basic Attacks.

And yeah, I also never use Add Ons on Nurse, but I used Double Recharge for this Challenge. 15 seconds it quite short.

  • It is just getting two Hits after a Blink-Attack. Those two Hits can be Blinks as well.

Got this done with Infectious Fright and double Recharge.

  • Since it is a Killer-Perk, I might have had some value when playing Killer.

The only other value I had was that I needed to switch the Button for secondary Actions on Survivor, because it was the same as my Skillcheck-Button (F).

so we could say the same about BBQ, yet people are still using it.

and wasn't dead hard nerfed so much and yet the numbers are still so high?

The difference is, BBQ is only used for its Aura Read nowadays. You wont see BBQ on a Hag for example. But you will see it on Billy or probably Blight. The usage dropped a lot when the Bonus-BPs were removed, same would happen to Prove Thyself.

And honestly, DH is not really a problem anymore.

    prove isn't strong?

if it wasn't strong why is everyone using it, in every game

    BPs.

If you really thinkg Prove Thyself is used because of the removal of the Penalty when two people are working on a Gen, you really lack game knowledge.

If the Devs would remove the Bonus-BPs from PTS you would see a huge drop in numbers.

  • @Jago said:

    4 bnp + hyperfocus

Hyperfocus? That one Perk that was called busted and nobody uses it anymore?

And even if, 4 BNPs are less progression than the Regression achieved with 4 Slowdowns.

  • Yeah, 4 Slowdowns is too much. Sadly every non-skilled Killerplayer can get 4Ks this way by just prolonging the game so much that no Ressources are left, which means that they dont have to deal with anything at some point.

You also dont even need 4 Slowdowns, you probably dont even need 1 if you are somewhat good at the game and be fine with not 4King every match (but still most of them).

Sadly, stacking Slowdown is the easiest way to play the game, so we will see it a lot.

Definitely doesn't seem useless. We've got 30 Killers in the game at this point. Having a no stress place where you can learn to play against them would be very helpful to newer players. Even for more experienced players, it can still be a good way to try out different builds, learn new maps, and learn how to play against new Killers.

I'm very much looking forward to having Killer bots in the future.

Really, scrap Killer Bots. Just dont bring them, it is not worth the effort. You will not manage to bring 30 Killer Bots to a level that they resemble actual human players so that learning against them will be helpful.

The ressources can really be used in other areas.

  • I mean, not surprised. His initial power with the Guards and Patrol is pretty interesting, but since it can be used for Anti-Loop and this is his best playstyle, he will be played like this and this playstyle is boring, even for Killer players.

And the problem is not that Survivors counter it by holding W, the problem is that holding W is the only way to play against this Playstyle.

Basically, they would need to go back to the drawing board with the Knight, making his patrol far more viable and stronger while removing the possibility to use his Power as Anti-Loop. Sad thing is, knowing BHVR, they will just buff some numbers, which make him stronger in Anti-Loop, so he will be a stronger Killer with that boring playstyle.

Really not looking forward to bringing this guy to P9...

  • Prestige does not matter. Just ignore it.

Even if you see a Prestige 1 Vittorio, this does not mean that the same player does not have a Prestige 100-Meg. So guessing how experienced people are based on prestige does not work.

Furthermore, it is way more likely to encounter high Prestige-Survivors, because all Survivors play the same so many players only have one Main Survivor and dont play the other ones. Killers on the other hand play mutliple characters, meaning that their prestige Levels are increasing less per character, but more overall.

  • One sacrifice does not count. So if you have 3 Sacrifices and one escape, it only counts 2 Sacrifices.

Had the same today, one Survivor DCed, I sacrificed the other 3, did not get the Challenge done. The Bug is known and already reported.

  • @RainehDaze said:

being hindered if you get fully infected is literally all it practically does. And why there's first aid sprays. if a game's gone on long enough that there's no more cleansing available, uh, oh well?

Nah, when you are fully infected you can also insta-down the Survivor with your power.

And well, the hindered makes him really good at tunneling, because they will eventually get hindered in a Chase and at this point, they cannot loop anymore, because they are too slow. And you cannot really use the Spray Mid-Chase, so its existence does not really change the fact that the Hindered-Status Effect makes him really good at tunneling.

    @Topic:

    Removing the Hindered - yes.

About breaking Pallets or Walls... Sure, why not.

I just feel like the Incapacitated effect is a non-starter. It's a bad game mechanic that shouldn't be in the game altogether.

It is fine with Victor. Incapacitated on anything else is just too much.

  • What is wrong with B-Tier Killers? All Killers in the game (even those considered weak) can win against the majority of Survivors. If the Knight ends up as a B-Tier Killer, you will win a lot with him.

And he will be sold, he brings new Perks and unique gameplay, on top of good visuals.

You cant expect S-Tier Killers back to back...

  • Sometimes, but only randomly. I am not really the social guy who wants to talk or interact too much with strangers on the internet. My mom also warned me about that.

  • Obviously. Balancing around the Top players would also not really be fun for Killer. I am sure that some will love the idea of winning 300 games in a row against SoloQ and casual SWFs and then losing the occasional game against a really strong SWF, but for most people it will probably be boring.

Balancing around the Top 1% is the worst idea ever and people who really want this have not much knowledge of the game.

1 … 106 107 108 109 110 … 341
