I can live with that considering atm if you aren't trying to kill someone you end up with games where you have 12 hooks (30% speed buff) x 6-8 survs on top of guide. The comeback mechanic is practically placebo since more survs alive = more gen time even if they only end up getting 10-15% per surv after gen debuff.
Also remember unless killers are doing amazing gens will always be debuffed as it takes 2 hooks to even out the gen debuff. Gen done -5% repair, hook +2.5% repair.

More so with a teammate that also sees your placed traps.

no, the Blights terror radius is non existent until he’s either next to you or hooking you.
I made a bug report about it. But the 2v8 is being a let down
Its most likely the new killer class. gets undetectable in team mates TR and it transfers to them when you score a hit.

Yeah. I had Trapper + Deathslinger and Spirit + Deathslinger in my second and third matches and they did not do well. 6E and 8E respectively (though the second Deathslinger didn't seem very good at the killer, while the first was.) I'm suspecting Deathslinger needs a buff, he already wasn't a very strong killer and he isn't doing very well in a faster paced environment.
Till you see the 1 Slinger + Trapper pair that shoots people in to traps for free downs

BHVR is gonna have to bust out survivor exclusive double exp & throw in a handful of cosmetic rewards for playing survivor at this rate
Without perks & killer variety, playing survivor becomes stale after a few games.
The giant maps aren't helping either, despite there being 2 killers you spend so little time with even one of them.
its already at 250% for a 3.5X more BP.
-
remember flashlights are only a 13% chance from a chest so you wont see a lot, and pallet only works if survivor is downed on it.

I'd disagree, I think the main issue is just flat out toolboxes.
The amount of gen repair speed you can get stacking everything else without toolboxes is like, half as much as you get just from a basic toolbox. If toolboxes were ever nerfed to not be this powerful, genrushing builds would take such a gigantic hit in power that they'd practically no longer exist as we know them now.
Thing is they have been hard nerfed already. Before toolboxes lasted 2+ gens worth of charges base and wire spool added 30 charges.

Because they must. Did you miss the part where i said after a survivor has been downed it still takes almost 20 seconds to hook them? If the survivor does nothing but run in a straight line from start of chase to end of chase and shift +w to the furthest corner of the map, do you know how much time is spent? You probably don't, but i'll tell you, it about 60 seconds. That isn't factoring in pallets, looping, windows, anything. A God pallet, AKA Shack, a pallet that MUST be broken, results in extending a chase by about 20 seconds.
This means, that in the first chase, all the survivor has to do is shift + w to killer shack, predrop the pallet, and shift+w to the furthest corner possible, and the survivors will finish 3 gens.
If you are getting Shift+W for 60 seconds it's a skill issue. The last chase stats also say that as there average of 60 seconds of chase across the whole match for all matches. but lets think more of numbers and time. the most killer without getting any BL stacks is 4.6m in chase so starting at max range of chase of 18m it takes 30s roughly (With BL it stacking its 25s.) to get that hit with out lunge, on that hit survivors are 6.6 speed for 1.8s gaining 11.88m in turn is another 19s roughly (With BL is 17s). So in the perfect run time for a Shift+W survivor (at max distances) the chase lasts for 49s (42s with BL procs). Most chases start much closer to 5-10m range from killer taking off a lot of time. And the most a Shift+W will do is predrop a pallet and with maps now 90% of them are skip able unsafe ones that slow them more then the killer. This is also for a M1 killer any M2 killer will me much faster on the down.
-
The simulation also doesn't take in any current tactics of the game or skill of players its just a random roll generator. So of course it will keep the hard 40% floor escape rate no mater what. It is just like the dps simulators of RPG games to sim gear 99% of the time it takes in an unplayable skill level and imposable circumstances for the numbers it puts out.

@Saiph said:
Ah yeah, the weekly "math" fallacy trying to pretend killer wins only 50% of their games.
You DON'T NEED to know Python to understand the fallacy.
Because EVERY time, the trick is the SAME : draws. Instead of counting the wins / loss for both sides (which shows 60 - 40 in favor of killer) , the person will try to split into wins / draws / losses (which gives 50 - 15 - 35 instead, still in favor of killers). Then, they "magically" forget draws, and tell you "Look, killers win only 50% of their game". But the thing is, even under this convention, survivors win only 35% of the time, because 15% are draws. So this is STILL completely killer-sided.
And of course, this time is no exception.
As I said, no need to understand the full code, nor the math: we trust OP for this. The only part that we want to look for, is how they deal with draws. And how, what a surprise: notice that OP's code explicitly computes "draw rate" at line 30, but then never uses it anywhere. Only the "win rate" and "escape rate" in the graphics are shown. Isn't it weird? Why would you bother computing the "draw rate", then in the end not do anything at all with it?
The answer is - and OP perfectly knows it - that if they would show you the draw rate (or survivor win rate, even better) on the graph then it will reveal a completely opposite narrative to the one they're trying to paint. Under the convention that they created, yes killers only win 50% of their games, but survivors only win 35%, and the rest are draws.
Now in this case though we are reaching some particularly disturbing levels of manipulation, as OP added unnecessary complexity to the post in order to "scare" people away and just trust that he has done the math. But no, just because someone used Python does not mean he did "math" nor was honest about it (Python is in fact complete overkill as you could just use Nightlight data to prove the same point).
Speaking about honesty, this quote - from the main post - is particularly questionable:
All in all, the "power role" (in the theme) only wins about half the time, which mean, as a team, survivors win about half the time too, on average, overall.
Now this is a blatant lie. You know very well that YOUR OWN data shows something like 35% winrate for survivors, not 50%, and don't forget I can run your Python script myself if you don't want to reveal the numbers.
It's unfortunate that you did this experiment in an attempt to show that the game is not killer-sided, and it completely backfired: not only does the data it produces show that the game IS in fact killer-sided, but it also directly debunks that "killers win only 50% of the time" fallacy.
Redo the same graph, but show us the survivor winrate as well as the killer winrate, please..
Wasn't the last time the math came out it the number chart one that showed 60% kill rate was a 70% win rate. As the 60% kill rate over 10 games gave 3 2k games and 7 3k games.

If you are losing to THAT many aura perks in a single build… when does it fall on the survivors skill? That could be pain res, pop, grim embrace and deadlock which is INFINITELY worse to go against.
I feel lethal, Any aura perk, Pain res and DMS do way better then any 4 gen slow build. You get 4 hooks that start regression and mind games for hooking, Info when DMS procs and Aura to start a chase for hook pressure.

This is like asking why I should consider the experience of my opponents when I play sports. We do that because everyone should be having fun. The only time cheap tactics should reasonably get used is in gaming leagues or professional sports (or esports).
Every person playing any game with another person should be expected to consider the experience of the people they're in the game with. We all play games to have fun, and cheap tactics like tunneling, camping, and slugging for 4k make the game less fun, as does taunting (e.g. by teabagging during chase or at gates).
And this isn't to say 'don't play hard', just don't make the game completely awful by using cheap playstyles.
If a person wants to engage in cheap tactics or taunt other players, they should recognize that those behaviors make the game worse for the people they share it with. If someone doesn't want to do that, it's probably best if they consider playing single player games instead.
Thing is most tournaments (AKA esports style) for DBD on a quick search list no camping, slugging (Most being more the 2 at once without hooking) and some tunneling in their rule sets, on top of wasting time when a game is clearly over for both sides. So those cheap tactics can only be done in Bog-standard games taht we play in.

It's almost like that data (that would happen to negatively skew results towards your claims) is excluded because its flawed and irrelevant as it has too much of an impact on games.
What you want is to include data that suits you and remove data that disproves you.
Really they should include all data to the kill rates. Having the AFK killers in and leaving out DC's already shifts the %

I really can’t understand posts like this. Why should we be expected to consider the experience of the opposing team in a PvP game? In 1v1 games or team matches with equal numbers, I've never seen anyone ask their opponents to go easy on them. If we were actually meant to achieve a balanced 12-hook game, BHVR would have implemented such a system by now. Tunneling, slugging, and fast generator completion are not wrong ways to play. Just because someone finds it unpleasant doesn’t mean they should criticize others for making choices within the rules or push their own rulebook onto others.
In those games the game is balanced for a 50/50 chance to win not a 60/40 (on its best day without BMing.)

I know you said don't mention swf but from my experience, lower MMR is heavily killer sided as it's got a lot more solo players. Higher MMR with swf players is balanced... Possibly survivor sided but definitely not killer sided
Even in higher MMR its still killer sided only slightly less then lower brackets. With the numbers BHVR put out and if you believe the numbers haven't changed in the past year comment it still is.

Hex: Face the Darkness activates on survivor being injured. NTH, Predator, Floods of Rage, Friends Till the End and Weave combined with Franklin's are all individually vastly more powerful than BBQ.
Even more so on the smaller maps now. Standing mid some as a standard Imposable skill check TR size doc lets your TR hit the walls, and that's just lightly larger then BBQ min range.

I enjoy going to the void as survivor as its a free 20k points per gen as 50% solo is 2 crystals. only real points for survivor in the event.

It should count as it but seeing as it's only 4 minutes the devs wont count it as such.

I've always wondered what solo-queue has even to do with that problem, it's not like it would be better to have your aura shown as a swf. Also I don't understand why you're even so increadible focused on auras all of the sudden, you can see it on doctor since years: it doesn't matter if you know where players are as long as you can't get them, so just get as good in chase as possible and you don't have a problem with your aura shown xD
So let me see what aura perks could activate while you're on your way to save... darkness revealed if you're unlucky, human greed if you're unlucky, rancor with a bit of prediction from the killer (not even aura lol), bitter murmur if you're unlucky... that was everything I found in idk, 3 minutes or something going through all aura perks . Nothing stops you from going to save, if I want to favor you I could say scourge hook: floods of rage is a milde danger after unhooking but that doesn't even matter if you're not healing under hook and don't have a highspeed killer (in which case it almost wouldn't have mattered at all if he had it).
People just hiding and letting people stay on hook is not because of auras it's just because they are simply not good players, selfish and not the brightest (because it decimates your chance of winning to basically 0 by default). I've seen increadible people in solo-queue against me as huntress with lethal, iron maiden, floods of rage and bbq and even glowing concoction, they still saved everyone with no issues (while these perks don't activate while they are going to save, it's still functional as excampel because you don't even differentiat between the perks and how they activate). I just wonder how they did that if it is so hard to save with "all" those perks stopping you from saving, it's not even like it would be my 3k-8k survivors I play against, even people with a few hundred hours or even less (often) can do it no issue.
SoloQ has a point in the argument as its the 95% side of survivors in games. If that 95% is gone its all SWF teams on 30 minute - hour queues till killers get nuked so people play survivor again. But Fthat is a newly made troll account so don't take their words for anything.

Unknown's requires looking at him for roughly 8 seconds to escape a vulnerable state that can be immediately reapplied by the Unknown. Ghostface is revealed in less than 3 seconds and it completely shuts down his power. The two are not comparable.
Ghostface also needs you to see 70% of his body and constantly breaks when you can or not in maps. Like in swamp if he's on the ramp in full view and your on the gen near the top you cant break him. In meat plant if your by a table and he's 10-15 feet from it you cant break stalk but you can break through the stock shelves with the smallest gap.

And i also can't say Azarov's is so bad for survivors. I would say it's even balanced, just in a bad way, because it's bad for multiple reasons for both sides.
And you definately underestimate how strong Eyrie and Gas Heaven. I'm not fan of arguing about maps with stats, because it's not direct indicator of balance at all, but those two maps never leave top-5 less deadliest. Right now they are #1 and #2. Eyrie is most popular offering in my matches for a reason, you need to be really awful at the game to lose here as survivor. All the badham maps are safter then eyrie since 8.3.0.

You do know that every time a killer uses their power or breaks a pallet, they completely cancel out BL and reset its timer, right?
Are you saying that a killer like doctor is better using bloodlust than their power at a loop? There's a reason why some killers actually benefit from the perk that removes BL entirely, they are basically throwing if they get even BL1.
At a loop he get use from it but chasing between he doesn't as it doesn't slow them but slows him to activate, and on the newer worked maps there is always a bad for survivor area between loops that give more then enough time for BL to proc.

It also broke in match with the smoke bombs for held items doing actions also. I often see myself shoving a flash light or med kit in to the gen I'm repairing or survivor I'm healing with a smoke bomb in hand.

Yeah but that didnt answer the second part of the question. HOW many killers is it more worth it to just use your power over the 5% speed increase of BL1?
Seeing as you interpret thing with out numbers as if you could you'd see how many. But for you sake 36 of the 37 killers have times in a match where gaining bloodlust 1 is better then using power for a hit. Its purely situational and part of the micromanaging killers have to have to be good at the role.

All can use it but maybe nurse. Cause every power but hers has spots its better to chase then use the power. Bloodlust 1 is more then enough to get a hit 99% of the time.
