What amazes me more is that BHVR thought it would be a good idea to give Taurie a healing perk with this invocation.
I thought we learned our lesson w Sable
Of course not. Unless what I think like others do is true that BHVR devs are all killer mains, for the ones that actually play their own game. It's just like how the Corrective action change last PTB was a huge surprise on its busted interaction to gen speed to them.

We maybe wrong but can't survivors trade states as long as the unhooker isn't on death hook? It didn't say anything about once per survivor last we looked.
You can watch any streamer that tested the perk on the PTB and see its only once per player. Also the first version of it has the text once per game at the end, the update to it only changed the exposed time.

How long does it take for a blind once you start? Why is it that sometimes I'll blind the killer when they're picking up a Survivor, get the Killer Blind points, but don't get the save 🤔
If its blinding in the 2v8 mode you have to have perfect timing for it. The time you get for the blind save is less then a second on pick up lock out ends to hooking animation lock out starts.

I think this is being overblown a tad.
They changed the perk because they thought it was too strong. In fact, I barely saw any killer mains complain about it. Even I thought it was a good perk to counter tunneling with the only real concern being the ability to really spread hook counts when you need pressure, but that's not really here nor there to me the way I play.
They'll probably adjust it down the line if 60 seconds is too long.Then you missed the forums for the week it was announced. We had what 10 threads about it from killer mains complaining about it thinking it added and didn't transfer hook states.

Yes but the hook state still goes to another survivor regardless. That's still a grand total of 12 hook states between all survivors.
Saying "adds 8 hook states" would imply there's 20. That's not what's happening.
It also is once per game per character so at max its 4 swaps of a hook state. People like Vish cant read every thing as they see 1 thing that may hurt their killer sided ego and attack it.
-
I think they moved from the mostly killer sided forums to the completely killer sided Reddit for feedback.

Even with those mondo buffs, Wraith gets utterly cooked by the Escapist class, very much like he gets cooked in 1vs4 is survivors take SB
For the first one he does so but then can just recloak and get back on said runner in 1 second, and if a good player is playing wraith they mind game a fake uncloak first and lose nothing.
Tho most wraiths I've seen in 2v8 all do the insta down strat or let billy/blight do downs and just pat gen/hook. -

If you played allot you should have more cakes as the bloodweb gives you like 2 - 3 and sometimes 4 in 1 level on killer. But i also cannot say what playing allot is for certain people depending on work/family etc.. I always take the most optimal path in rifts so i can save my bloodpoints for the anniversary.
I saved up this anniversary about 7mil bp over the year from various tomes and dumped them all on 1 character. if you then save 2 mil when anniversary hits you have like me 9 mil to spend. 9mil is around 7 prestiges and 7 prestiges are like 300 - 350 cakes on surv or about 600 on killer i think.I dont know how many cakes/streamers you want but i am wondering how long your playing this game because after leveling everything to 3 the grind is basicly over… There is no use in a prestige 100 besides maybe "liking" the character more then others.
I have posted this in another thread so ill do it again here.I do not want to be annoying about it but how can it go any faster? I just looked up the dates to be shure.
(These events last atleast 7 days)
For only 2024 :
16/01/2024 - x2 Bp
21/02/2024 - x1,5 Bp
18/03/2024 - x4 - x5 Bp (bloodmoon event)
14/05/2024 - x3 bp
03/06/2024 - x2 bp
13/06/2024 - Farming cakes for 3 weeks (100% anniversary cake)
05/09/2024 - x2 bp
24/09/2024 - x3 bp
17/10/2024 - halloween event item +100% bp
Winter event is coming soonEvery month you can get 2 mil bp if killer and survivor is rank 1
On top of all the codes we get, free gift in store every week and not talking about logging in bonuses with events? How fast you want to get bloodpoints? We have been so spoiled this year with bloodpoints its ridiculous. Enjoy the game and enjoy the grind. Because after you have everything P3 you basicly do not need bloodpoints anymore.
Ow yeah i forgot the 20 tomes you can complete with 4 levels of challenges rewarding you with BP as well. Thats around 2mil BP some more some less per tome depending on the characters you have.
The last 2 or maybe 3 rifts also give about 400k bp just for playing?
Not talking about the little event tomes we get in between all the stuff like 2v8 or lights out…
100% extra for que depending on what the game needs.Just enjoy the grind and have fun if you want bloodpoints for a p100 let me remind you there is nothin a p100 gets… After P9 you stop getting rewards.
They help a lot even more for newer players. At 500 hours in mostly events for the extra bonus points for survivors I've 3ed 25 of the 44 for perks. the ones i don't have done yet are mostly the pair $ for ones. Down side of getting higher ranked games is most the meta perks for survivors are all on the paid for ones.

I have 4000 hours friend, I have played the game enough. If you think you would be unfairly impacted at 60ms you either need better internet or yourself do not have as good an understanding of the game as you claim.
Thing is a killer with 60 ping is much higher as hits are killers PC/console sided on registering in this game. Server pings survivors location to killer, killer swings and hits on their screen to ping back to server, then server pings back to said survivor as them being hit when they vaulted and ran 2-4 steps past the window.

I don't like it bc it hinders me from playing the game…unlike some of yall I don't have the time to sit through 20 min queues just to play one killer match. If the mode didnt affect 1v4 I wouldnt care less it got extended but it does and it has kept me from playing my fav part of the game since it came out and now I have to wait even longer till I can play killer again.
You could always just play survivor and get 3-4 games in that 1 killer queue time and get more BP.
-
Well they don't see Slugging as an issue so maybe was one.

I don't see that happening…in my exp, queue times have stayed long all throughout 2v8. On top of that, I don't see how the novelty wearing off will change anything. If the novelty of the mode wears off for killers it will as wear down for the already few survivors as well meaning queue times wouldn't really change all that much. I just think dbd as a whole can't handle a mode like 2v8 without severely hurting queue times for both 2v8 and 1v4. I think 2v8 either should be a very time-limited mode or its own game entirely.
It's not the mode that hinders queue times its the people who all flock to killer. If more then 80% of the people aren't queueing for survivor you will always feel it as killer no mater if its 1v4 or 2v8. Best way to see it is survivor Queues are all instant for both.

Down side is killers with mechanics like that would need a huge rework for 2v8.

Survivors often want an easier time because bad teammates can be frustrating, but at a decent skill level, survivors already have a huge chance of winning
I suppose 40% can technically be considered a 'huge chance', yeah. I mean, there is a realistic chance that survivors win a match. But if that's the hill you want to die on, it's not the survivors that are expecting the other party to play for their amusement, is it?
Remember that's a 40% survive rate not a 40% win rate. Its much closer to 25-28% win rate of 3+ out

It's still simple, is 4% relevant or not? If it is so small as you claim, we can get safely rid of it.
Now your putting words that aren't there in my post. Never once did I say it was small or should go. I in fact like the 4% as i've had a few times it worked well for me to unhook and run to the gate just before it opened. All i did was refute your bad math style.

@PetTheDoggo said:

So who will I trust more, math or your made up story?
Unless you want to prove me wrong with probability calculation, there is 51,3% for this to happen at least once. That's not really low chance and self-unhooking is big deal, there is a reason why deliverance is one of best perks in DBD (at least for SWF).
Get your arguments straight, either it is so a low chance and it doesn't matter, in which case we can as well completely remove it, or it is a big deal and it should never be for free.Yes the probability math does add up like that that, but even once you hit the supposed 100% chance and it doesn't hit your math also fails even harder. Cause that's all Probability math is fake hope that a static % changes on repeated use. at the end of the day a 4% is always a 4% on every attempt.
Best example is in WoW there have been people running the Eye raid for 28 years for the mount that's a .1% drop on 11 characters weekly and still haven't seen it drop once. After less then 2 years they should have seen it with your math. -
@PetTheDoggo said:
https://forums.bhvr.com/dead-by-daylight/discussion/comment/3844255#Comment_3844255
It's not really 4%, is it?
it's 16 attempts for free, every game…
I was never good at probability, but that should be 51,3% chance to happen at least once. Any math genius here to validate this?Thats a MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSIVE buff to killers
but massive buff to survivors is fine. Funny…
It's still just a 4% for all 16. It doesn't change the more attempts tried, only the offerings and up the ante change the chance any. Anyone that plays any RPG with low drop rates will agree unless the game adds bad luck protection that 4% can hit for you the first try or not till the 10000 try.

Unhook is worth the same points as completing a gen in 2v8. 1k for running and spending .5 seconds vs spending 45+ seconds.

The numbers speak for the slug.
We have 22 perks that should motivate playing hooks, but most of them were nerfed or are not strong enough. I wrote about them in more detail in my thread. The developers are clearly hinting to killer players that they should not play in spreading hooks.
While the slug counters 26 perks, 2 items and quality of life buffs for the survivor on the hook (10 seconds, anti-facecamp, etc.). We really live in crazy times, where hooks are beneficial to the survivor side.
As you can see below, many of these perks are in the meta. Which is a huge advantage in the confrontation with the survivor side.
Camping and Tunneling
Dead Hard, Off the Record, Decisive Strike
Defense
Babysitter, Borrowed Time, Breakdown, Deliverance, Kindred, Reassurance, Resurgence, Second Wind, We'll Make It, Wicked, Fast Track, Blood Rush, Slippery Meat, Camaraderie
Transportation
Boil Over, Breakout, Power Struggle, Flip-Flop
Lantern Assault
Background Player, Flashbang, Champion of Light, Residual Manifest
Toolbox Assault
Saboteur
It also follows that you can unload your builds. By choosing other perks that can work better in slugging.
At the moment, killers have 127 perks, but by choosing the slugging tactic, you will no longer have to worry about 48 perks related to totems, transportation, obsession and hooks. This allows you to focus on the other 79 perks that will help in the slug business. Even at a quick glance, you can notice interesting combinations. That same useless Thanatophobia acquires a completely different value when playing slug. You will find many such examples.
The list is not complete and at the moment is only a sketch. Since I am in the process of searching and testing various slug builds. Each killers needs its own slug build.
Four perks of a true slug player
Knock Out, Infectious Fright, Forced Hesitation, Deerstalker
Passive Slow
Surge, Thanatophobia, Deadlock, Merciless Storm
Search
Deathbound, Spies from the Shadows, Darkness Revealed
Other
Languid Touch, Ultimate Weapon, Batteries Included, Unforeseen, Trail of Torment
The funny thing about this whole situation is the reluctance of survivors to adapt. Anything that makes survivors not follow the m1 and shift+w doctrine is met with fierce resistance. Survivors can already resist slug. The perks written below are proof of this.
Boon: Exponential, Buckle Up, Plot Twist, Soul Guard, Unbreakable, We're Gonna Live Forever, No Mither
For the People, Tenacity, Made for This
Teamwork: Collective Stealth, Teamwork: Power of Two, Blood Pact
Then let me put it in the words of so many killers on this forum. "We shouldn't need a perk to counter base kit."
-
Also exploits and bug abuse doesn't = to using cheats. It's using things that are egregiously broken in game to win.
-
It'd be a huge QoL change s the only way you know before was Distortion proc (before it was gutted and isn't good for leaning what aura reading they have now) or running OoO (and its downside of letting the killer know where you are every 30 seconds).
-
25 seconds after a kick is enough to reset 70-80% of a gen in 2v8.
-
@Ayodam said:

I mean killers do get aura when a gen pops and under other circumstances so you may actually be right in a way
Till first hook in 2v8 it feels like aura is read 70-80% of the time after 30 seconds.
-
The one by the window isn't a god pallet. You drop it and you only have 1 window way out that they have faster access to trapping you there till they break it or you mess up.

I agree but, they could make the incentives to 400% for survivors instead 250 or less, last night, for me, the survivor bonus in 2v8 was just on 50%, so…
Last 2v8 was 400% and it still had the same issue. it needs to be 500%+
-
People slug for any reason really. Its rarely used for pressure as it is now as much as the forum killer mains like to fall on of why its not a BM.
-
I've had killers complain about this also but they also never chased at 1 gen left, camping gens the whole time.
-
if it was on the farm map it was 99% a scout seeing you. They have a perfect spot to just camp and see half the farm.
-
@Rudjohns said:
But I thought the event was survivor sided?
They also thought last one was and it wasnt.
-
Its now 25% 2v8 and 50% 1v4.

Sound like a killer sided solution that will cause more slugging.
-
She has the highest skill floor of all the killers in game so her skill ceiling is also that much higher in nurse mains.
-
@Ayodam said:
In my experience from strongest to least goes Hillbilly, Blight, Nurse, Wraith, Huntress, Spirit, and Trapper in that order.
I agree but also Slinger is the best support killer in the mode for team ups.
-
Its not broken its just people flock to the easier less stressful role of killer then survivor, even if survivor is at a massive BP+. Last time there was 400% and now its lower at 150-250% so less will queue as survivor.

I’ve seen multiple survivors get up by themselves with 0 hook stages and done it myself.
Its only if they have the class skill charged and it uses said charge.
-
@Doxie said:
Cant survivors recover from a slug? I've seen two do it so far
Only if you have your class skill charged up and those are 90-120 seconds per being better used for what it does instead of unbreakable.

@Crowman said:
So BHVR made it so gens are done faster the more hooks a killer gets in 2v8. So spreading hooks is not viable as you'll just lose gens. So your only options are to hyper tunnel survivors out of the game to limit how much free progress survivors get or to slug to avoid it completely.
And yet Survivors lose 2v8 more when there is hook spreading.
-
@Mr_K said:
You have a class that gives 5% per survivor bonus to gen progression.
4x guide survivors repair a gen. +5% per nearby survivor is a +15% each for the next gen they touch. All four jump on the next gen a it's 60% complete off the bat. Not to bring up the 8% repair speed bonus they can get.
And this isn't really a playable strat. Players much better then most try this over several matches to have it mostly fail. when you complete the 2 or 3, 4 player gens on a map you lose 1/4th the power of it cause the guide has to be touching the gen to get stacks.
-
@Brimp said:
So I see "fix snowballing"… Does snowballing really need to be fixed? Also the fact that 8 gens is already kinda fast and with pallet/flashlight saves being back… actively get punished for whatever you do. Starting to seem like less of a party mode for killers in 2v8.
The saves are back in but I havent see a single one go out. I've personally got 3 blinds off that should have saved but survivor still got hooked, and pallet is even more rare in this mode as the save window is .5 of a second.

Not even close to accurate. It shut down because of a lawsuit over the very messy licensing rights to Jason. The game was well loved and the closest DBD ever had to real competition.
Almost everyone loved that game with overwhelmingly positive reviews. Nobody cared that Jason was so strong because that’s how the game was designed. The big mistake DBD made was the fact that this game was horrifically survivor sided for the first 3-6 years and was an absolute power trip for survivors.
If they never made that mistake people wouldn’t be crying so much.
He also could be that strong cause it was 1v7 so people had long stretches of doing things that wasn't running.

sorry Billy miss typed. to may killers with B names and chainsaws.

People have so little imagination, this is why you see players who cannot comprenhend exploits.
This exploit also takes 5 people for the 4 person gens, 7 for the 3 player ones to be instant, on top of all 4 guides taking a hook. It is doable but past the 2-3 4 player ones its not going to happen a lot.

Broken for the rest of the match
I have seen a few people running invocations, that also run No Mither, so the Broken effect isn't that big of a deal + other injured perks that also used to be considered synergetic with No Mither.
Perhaps that's a way to go?
Only thing is once you get high enough MMR you hit the wall of killers that see a no mither and tunnel that 1 player cause its an easier out.
-
The weaker the killers are makes gens slower. -5% per complete adds up quickly. Also guide is only really good after the first hook if people group up for completes.
