This is how it looks like when killers are not "very good at looping and applying pressure to other gens"

@YourFather said:
To be annoying for ghost face i suggest DS,DH,Object of Obsession and Sole Survivor.
Object doesn't work against shroud

I mean it's not like both sides are equally toxic to the other.
I didnt even camp the pallets! I have a proof too

I'm on console. I got the game a year after everyone on PC. So no, I don't remember that.
Oh well bloodlust didnt exist and basically it was near impossible to catch survivors at a half decent loop. There were other factors like fast vaults from any angle but you get the idea.
-
Bloodlust used to not be a thing and killers had less fun than they did when Ruin got changed.
Remember 2016 you legacy nerdd?
-
A Dementor or that giant spider from Harry Potter.. add Hermione and harry for survivors??
Like this right
-
People out here shutting your Idea down because "the devs dont care about you or their fanbase".
Honestly these are the worst. Keep posting your ideas on the forums, dont mind the trolls, and I hope people will give you as much constructive feedback as possible.
My two cents is that the primary problem when it comes to gens that needs to be looked at is the maps first (since toolboxes were confirmed to be nerfed soon)
-
To pair it it up with anything?
Hmmm, maybe autodidact or Head On if you're assisting in chases... or Mettle of yikes
It's a goto perk for solo Qs for me though
-
@Elena said:
You seem to forget the fact that survivors are also "toxic" as well. Yes, face camping isn't fun, but neither is going against a 4 man SWF just for them to harass you at the end of the game. It's unfair for both sides; I'm assuming you're a survivor main? If not then my bad, but you need to consider what's fair or not for both sides.
Unfair to killers how.
If the game is over and they're sitting at gate tbagging just force them out and get your extra bp. It's not the same as robbing someone of a whole game
-
@Archimedes5000 said:
You dont.
Whispers is a weak perk by itself, just run away. No one runs Whispers I
You heavily underestimate Whispers.
To the OP:
Unfortunately whispers is pretty much a GG when it comes to end game collapse unless the gates are close enough for you to juggle with. I've tried pebble plays to try and confuse the killer but the majority are attentive to Whispers so it's not exactly easy or convenient.
-
A survivor doesn't need a minimum of 3 hooks to die.
Sometimes they die in 1 or 2.
The idea is interesting, but then it poses no threat after the first hook, which was the point of the struggle phase.
What I think you are suggesting ends up removing struggle phase and attempting to escape?

We are not entitled, survivors are, they complain in the forums and the devs do something about it. Remember the basement glitch ? They patched than within hours but flashlights have been bugged for multiple days now it proves killers are on the back burner
You realize that the flashlight bug is bad for both of them right.
Ie. Not getting a blind on a killer breaking a pallet?
-
When the game starts and someone leaves, ending the game.

I still can’t agree that old Ruin was akin to “Training Wheels”.
Every experienced player in this game was a beginner or average at some point. It takes learning, patience, and experimentation to move past the things that clearly don’t work well in a match.
Newer killers or casual killers claiming they are now handicapped because of the changes to Ruin are wrong. They’re handicapped because of an unwillingness to try and adapt, and move forward with new ideas on how to approach a match, and different ways to create stall and pressure now that old Ruin is gone.
I think it's that mentality that made the perk so popular.
When people first used the perk, they must have been like "hey this slows people down pretty nicely on its own." Then they kinda just relied on the perk to do most of the slowdown for them and kinda abandoned learning to apply pressure properly imo.
-
Well they can... but what for? To increase the Q times even longer because someone didnt want to sit in front of a face camping bubba?
-
To give reference.
The devs did this for doc and changed it within the week.
I don't think Huntress is in need of this, even if her speed was to be buffed. She is one of the top killer picks because she's fairly balanced and fun to play. Though her hatchets are either with you or against you with D-Servers
-
What the level designers should focus on is the maps that have the highest escape rates for survivors and the highest kill rates for killer.
I dont want them to rush it though. @LemeTheMeme it's a bad idea to rush map development as it will turn out terrible.
Also ormond isn't too bad. It's bright enough to see even blendettes. +seal of approval
Sanctum isn't too bad for either side, though I can see survivors having around a ~ 60% escape rate, which isn't neccesarily too bad.
Anything reaching a 70% mark for either side should definitely be looked at

How are killers suffering?!?!
I’m a Clown main, never use Ruin (or many gen slow down perks) on him and do just fine against Red Ranks. If I’ve lost, it’s not because I didn’t use Ruin. I either made dumb mistakes or the survivors were simply better players than me.
Killers need to stop blaming their shortcomings on the changes to Ruin.
Careful bud you're gonna be called out as a fake killer main in disguise!

Tru3 Talent has a few videos of 4 minute matches.
Statistically speaking, it takes 80 seconds to complete a gen with 1 survivor hitting no greats. Survivors all spawn near generators, and assuming they all spawned at different gens, they all start 2 or 3 seconds into the match. The killer then has to find 1 survivor out of 7 possible gens, probably 6 tho if the killer spawned near one. So from that moment, they have to find a survivor, chase them, down them, hook them, and get to a gen to stop a survivor all within 80 seconds. If they don't find another survivor in this time, 3 gens popped 85 seconds in. Without counting toolboxes, or great skill checks. It usually would have 2 or more spawn on 1 gen, but it could be all 4 are spread out, or they chose to spread out after it started, putting a 10 second delay on the 3rd gen. This is also assuming the survivor kept the killer away from the other survivors during this time, so they can work safely. This is far easier with bond, SWF, or even a smart survivor trying to stay away from any gens. This obviously doesn't happen often, but it is an example. Usually there will be 2 on 1 gen, getting 1 done faster, but less total gens done. And toolboxes and great skill checks are quite common, making gens even faster. This is obviously worst case senario, but some groups of SWF at red ranks understand this fact, and will hardcore push this, so it can happen.
As someone said, survivors will have the most momentum at the start of a match.

If you watched Farmer John yesterday he had a chase with a Spirit which admittedly wasn't the best, it was about a minute or so and THREE GENS WENT OFF LOL
I actually just had a game on console as solo and this not so good spirit Rage quitted after committing to me for too long and only managed 1 hit, 3 gens popped lmao

"Despite how common survivor perks are used we aren't going to change that"
"Gen speed is a real issue so we are going to nerf any synergy between anti gen perks to make sure gens continue to go faster then light "
"but pro gen survivors perks are fun and can be stacked along with everything else"
"And a secondary objective would change or solve a lot of the issues but... naahhh LOL. "
Haha ignore that toolboxes are getting a nerf
-
At most I've had 2 that really stood out to me. Typically I notice these people do incredibly good during the loops so I go chase someone else and stack the odds
-
Theres always a weak link. I do go against quite a few strong loopers though

Licensing problems sadly
We would only be able to get non licensed characters

That actually helped see it. Seems right.
Though in those very same 2 minutes he got 2 basement hooks

I mean, it's hard to ignore all of the discussions of people saying the game is boring now, and we're talking about both sides.
Survivors and Killers are complaining alike, and you even got survivors who admit that they purposely don't do generators at the end just so they can keep game going longer.
That says something about this mid chapter update. Don't you think?
Nothing new. Same stuff happened when DS was nerfed

Well considering at the begining of the game the most survivors you can ever put pressure on at a time is 2, so usually 2 gens get done uninterrupted. That's 2/5 of your objectives done before anything has really had a chance to happen.
Entire game needs a rework as the generator system we have now doesn't work and only gets worse the longer its forced to live on past it's natural life cycle. Devs take gens off life support and man up and make us a fun and thought provoking objective.
That's still not 3 gens though
I need someone to show me that, I have yet to see that happen to myself or any of the streamers I watch

3 gens down and 1 hook?
I guess if you're putting too much time into chasing someone or they're a really good team.

Thank you for your kind and encouraging words! It would be amazing to see the results of ther people! I would love to see 100matches of a solo survivor and maybe a 4-stack SWF. That would be SO MUCH FUN!
You have inspired me to do this.
I will do 100 matches solo survivor and swf, and do my own version for killer!
Everything will be written down, this kind of player data is exactly what we need so we can finally shut some people up and encourage the rest!

This is amazing. I hope more people are encouraged to do this so they can compare. You have gone far beyond the call of duty as a player to provide feedback, respecc!!!

Nah I absolutely shoudln't bugfixes in other games do not take several months to be fixed. No matter which game I play it is odd that you defend bhvr with saying it is difficult to do so. Yeah bhvr has the only superspecial difficult to bugfix game, ok seems legit. This just leads to another conclusion, either they are incompetent or do not have the qualified manpower in order to do so.
Why don't we have this stuff? Maybe cause people explained to these devs how broken this garbage was and it took a long amount of time until they did something about it. Back then the game was in their minds perfectly fine and balanced.
BHVR was told that MoM was completely broken, they released it anyway. It was a bait to make easy money, otherwise the ash dlc would not have sold as well as it did. Same with legion, look where legion is now but they were stubborn i guess. These dlcs are good examples to get rid off this whole "oh they do care" and they know what is good.
I don't think ruin was a crutch, agree to disagree to me NOED is a crutch. I don't see anything good that comes from talking about speculations all we do know is 80% red rank usage ( i wonder what red rank means in this since red rank for killrate meant red ranked killers) and 45% across the board.
Because the people spill bs that just isn't true. I haven't seen a doc for months in red ranks games and other people i talk to agreed. Yet somehow out of nowhere the people came that state killer totally op, i play doc ez pz 4k. Sorry any decent players knows that these stories are just made up. They are the ones bringing in the theory about the earth being flat not me, the question is why many people want to believe them.
As I said regarding newbie problems, take a look at steam/metacritic. Check out why people do drop the game and it is because bugs do not get fixed, dlc/paywall, bad optimization and camping/tunneling killers (this is by far the biggest reason). As you have seen what the reaction was to the ruin nerf, experienced survivors are not bugged by it as they can deal with camping/tunneling the one who do suffer from it are the people that are inexperienced and do not have the perks (bt/ds) or the gameplay knowledge how to deal with it and are bad at loooping. Increase in gamepace leads to more tunneling in order to snowball from that... tell me who do you think is the weakest player? New players. It is dumb and counter productive. How many people will stick around after the next free weekend? ...
Again, company sizes differ from other games. To me BHVR is a small newer company who have a lack of manpower if not inexperience. The speeds for this game's bug fixes and development do match that of a small game company. To give you reference, Battlestate Games has about the same dev and bug fix speeds, because they are simply a smaller team. If 3 people are in charge of bug fixing as well as other things, that's 3 people who have to investigate every bug and report in the bug section of the forums. What about sick days or PTO? These people have lives, it's not about being incompetent, it's just an obvious lack of manpower, or just inexperience. But what do I know, I don't work for them, and no one knows what goes on in their offices.
As for NOED, Yeah it could be a crutch to some people, but it's such a hit or miss hex that is it really end of the day?
-
@rephaim said:

Then you know it as a hail Mary or wishful thinking for the killers. Used in most high rank games but pointless in most high rank games because everyone decides to be lazy. If the killers all used the bad basement hook shrine perk for 3 months straight I'm sure it will get nerfed and reworked. If it's the same craps then the rework was a failure on the devs part.
No. If it's the same crap then the rework shouldn't matter at all. Imo I feel like the totem lasts a lot longer now that people aren't actively looking for it (unless I have them on a 3 gen lock). And I do run Surveillance with it, because Surveillance is good with it, and still decent without it.
You can call it bad because it's 2 perks to "do one thing", but fr tho it's like gimmick synergies like Spirit Fury and enduring or Self care and Botany doesn't exist for some people.
-
@rephaim said:
https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/discussion/comment/1031036#Comment_1031036
Because a hex totem will always be one perk that disappears fast as long as there are ten notifications of its existence and use or bad spawns. If they had a slight lesser form when cleansed it would not be bad.
That applied to old Ruin though. It's still the same crap
-
@BloodyNights said:

I like that, that was all you took from my post. But fine, sure if that's all you do that isn't hard. But actually playing the game, and also protecting a certain set of gens can be difficult.
If the survivors catch on to what you are doing yeah it could result in a few 99%s to bait you out
-
Why do people keep saying, omg no you need to use 2 perks.
Spirit fury and Enduring 4heads?
Hello? Do synergies not exist in the transcended killer mind?
-
@BloodyNights said:
I do believe that Mori's are far stronger than keys, at least when you tunnel someone and delete them right away. Usually when the survivors are down a player is when things start to go down hill. So knocking that out early almost guarantees your win.
That being said, Keys can make a killer feel slightly robbed, they might have had a tough time protecting the gens and managing chases, but set up a 3 gen lock. They know survivors have no chance of finishing the lock that they worked to herd them into that terrible position. Only for all the survivors to suddenly jump through the hatch and escape. Feels bad man. Though I don't think it feels as bad as being the first one found, and killed right away.
You need to work hard to set up a 3 gen lock? Just sit in a general area and patrol the same gens?
-
It's a wave of salt from both sides.
This whole thing is just getting annoying.
You have the people who can calmly give feedback about something and keep playing the game to prove it.
Then you have people that are like oh I'm done with this game, this game is terrible, oh lord this game is dying, omg bias of (x) , oh my dear lord this game is unplayable, the devs are incompetent, the devs dont know their own game, God damnit man I swear I'm just gonna go around using (y) addons and (z) perks just to piss off the (x)!!
So much salt it's insane man like if you're gonna stop playing leave and stop trying to get people to pity you. End of the day the player Loss is almost nonexistent, because this game it's the only one like this to survive for so long and after coming out of a gutter it's insane how good this game has become... yet people completely sidestep and think it's worse than it has ever been
-
I dont think you realize what making a perk to have less synergy truly means
You're assuming a nerf. Which it is. But you don't know to what exactly, other than synergy. For all you know, Pop can be changed so it doesnt work with perks like surge and let's say it gets tokens that let's you reset a gen down by 50% of the current progress.
Also, you see it here, they're not increasing base gen repair times, they're focusing on the toolboxes, which is the actual thing used to Gen rush.
This is quite a yikes to post when you ignore the rest of their q&a
-
Aura reading builds are on both killer and survivors.
They aren't the best and aren't the worst, so... It's in a good spot?
-
