But the game is in desperate need of reworks on maps. They did a great job with Learys. Not sure how they work but they should be drawing man power from the dlc team to get these reworks out faster.

If only it worked like that.

Take it this way, it's like asking an artist to take up programming.

    Does this make sense?

  • No not really happening.

It's different teams working on different things.

The game can progress with the design team working on new chapters while another team does balancing etc etc.

  • I hear whispers is a popular perk for this very reason.

I have had a situation like this while playing Legion. I legit went afk to make cup noodles and took my headset with me. When I heard a gen pop I returned and knew roughly where to look, and eventually found one person, ended the chase, closed hatch, killed the last guy.

I think the only side that can hold a game hostage is killer more so than survivor

  • Insert maps that lean towards one side's victory too much

  • What a petty @ killers lmao.

So what if it's on the shrine, the perk has been out for years, with DS being such a popular perk it being on the shrine is just free 150k BP ez monis.

Also imagine not playing stealth killers that absolutely destroy this perk

Toolboxes. The update isn't a nerf, it's a buff. Me and my friends tested it. In the time it took Clown to walk arcross Thompson House - to even find survivors. 3 Gen's were done, and the 4th was halfway done when they all took yellow toolboxes with socket swivel and wire spool. They never needed increase speed in the first place. Going "We're going to lower how much you can use it, but increase the amount of progression you get with it" isn't a "nerf" that's doing absoultely nothing to it, however what they did was lower how much you can use it, and incrased the amount of progression you get with toolboxes - by a lot.

Don't even get me started on the sabotage changes. I literally control the entire trial with an alex's toolbox alone. I turn the entire game into making it impossible for the killer to even get 1 hook - unless they eliminate me first. Me who is reasonably good at looping. So far in the PTB I've mad killer's rage, dc, afk, tunnel, and camp as a result of the toolbox changes - in the ptb of all places.

OoO hasn't even been given slight changes, and it's been talked about for MONTHS, but BHVR keeps putting it off. That's probably the biggest contender.

How convenient of you to go against clown with full yellow toolboxes with good addons and in the strongest survivor map in the game. I call your bluff.

The PTB stuff is PTB. The sabo timer is very likely to change, and making killers rage on it is not out of the norm (especially when the PTB has little to no mm parameters).

Survivors shouldn't be the focus of nerfs, it's map tiles and map themselves.

we get it DCers should be crucified, theres been 100 other posts about it

That isnt what the post is about.

The post is asking why people thought it was multiplied for killer but not survivor.

Dumb that I had to ask bc there was just no way

  • @Pennywise said:

The devs should allow the killer to open the exit gate at any point. As survivor, if you are having a bad game you can just sacrifice yourself on the hook which is essentially a disconnect but without the penalty, as killer you have to endure the game to the very end.

Either that or stop survivors killing themselves on the hook, make struggling automatic.

The killer has to endure the game?

Or you know, they can end it earlier by killing off the rest, closing hatch, boom EGC, next game.

  • @PerfectlyPink said:

Sooo.... everyone just ignored the whole point of this video?

The survivors were so horrible, that they nearly lost to a speed limiter Bubba but got carried by meta perks. However, they were so ######### bad, that they still lost after getting a second chance. Had that'd been even a slightly better team, a comeback like that would mean a total lose for Otz. Why are we removing BL? Because it's a hand holding perk for baby killers, and yet survivors still have access to perks like DS, Unbreakable, Adren, and DH which hold your hand when you make a mistake

    "Oh, but he 4kd"

    "Oh, but he double pipped"

Yes, after sweating his ass off and getting really ######### stressed out. I have rarely seen Otz this frustrated with the game. Wonder why killers keep complaining about second chance perks and gens speeds? This is why; they're no as good as Otz, True, or Fungoose. So these times where you lose all pressure with the push of a button, will cause you to lose and depip.

No game should ever have this level of hand holding perks. If you make a comeback, that should be entirely based off of skill, no perks

Otz himself admitted that while it was frustrating, he made ~Several~ mistakes.

As you say, killers that will complain about second chance perks are not as good as Otz or Tru3, but that is exactly why they will get placed in a lower skill level, just a truth pill hard to swallow.

Handholding perks? I guess? If Slugging becomes the norm why should I not use Unbreakable? It's not necessarily hand holding me for being "bad at the game". It's to counteract a legitimate Killer strat that could end the game early. Adrenaline isn't ahandholding perk at all, I hardly get this proccd while mid chase and injured, so it usually becomes either a waste of a perk or I just dont live to see it being used. Dead Hard is easily countered + dedicated server pepega

Making a comeback without hand holding perks would mean Killers would have to stop using perks like Ruin (at its prime) , NOED, Blood Warden, Haunted Grounds, BBQ, Nurse's calling, etc.

This actually would hurt killers more if you look at it lol

Last note, of course Otz had to sweat hard af. He had to match having a questionable perk build on the lowest tier killer with the worst addons. What the video really shows is how much Bubba needs a rework.

  • @csandman1977 said:

I think people are missing the point. That game should have been over in no time. The survivors were crap. Had otz been using a "meta" killer build then it definitely would have been. The whole point is that the survivors were bad. Against one if the better killer players they were decimated. Then otz made 1 or 2 mistakes and those survivors, the ones that were getting murdered early were able ti snowball that mistake into nearly winning that game. Against a lesser killer they most likely would have. Against a killer of there skill level, they wouldnt have been in that position in the first place.

The point i believe is that as survivor you can mess around and make a mistake and be ok. As killer, against survivirs on your skill level, you don't get to mess around. You don't get to make multiple mistakes.

As you said though, those survivors were clearly not at Otz's skill level. Yes, the game would have been over waaay earlier. But you also gotta think about it. Finishing a game in less than 5 minutes is beneficial to neither side. It's all safety pips. You can argue about them being so bad but the truth of the matter is that it was a really good game. 31k and 4k. Which was only possible because said perks were used.

    (controversial RESPONSE - WARNING).

The DC issues were as follows:

    • "Survivor did not like KILLER trapping them in a corner so they could not move.
    • Killer did not like their hex being broke in the first 15 seconds of the match.
    • "Survivor did not like the killer closing the hatch." So they left the match. I had this happen ALOT as killer. Just last week on HAL labs someone did it on me, despite penalty system.
    • Killer did not like survivors "butt dancing" in the exit zone.
    • " Survivor did not like getting struck through a window. So they left the match.
    • Killer did NOT like the team gen rushing.
    • "Survivor could not move out of the area they were in. So they left the match.
    • Killer was looped the whole match. They stopped in the middle of the chase and left.
    • "Survivor felt that their team mates were not even trying.
    • Killer was mad they were 4-teamed with flashlights and could never see again. (bug).
    • Survivor was pulled OFF the hook infront of the killer. so they left the match
    • Killer was mad that a survivor was abusing the infinite sprint-burst glitch
    • Survivor was mad that the killer found them through cheating, which later was BBQ or nurses calling... possibliy.
    • Killer was being sandbagged and couldn't hook survivors.
    • Survivor was going to be mori'd.
    • Killer kept getting palleted.
    • Survivor gave UP and left before they were HOOKED, to PREVENT BBQ used against their other team mate.
    • Killer did not get to use their Mori.
    • Survivor had a killer spawn very close to them.

This is just scratching the surface of what made these issues happen.

    Essentially people being petty

At this point Xbox doesn't have DC penalties as they took down the dedicated servers, but one game last night the killer's lag was so bad I had no choice but to dc--the game was literally unplayable.

So no penalty if it was Killer Host.

They could try Peer to Peer but I hope not that's hell and far worse lol.

  • - everyone running the same team perks can be more of a coincidence

    - everyone tbagging at pallet drops, maybe. I'll give you this one

    - more than one flashlight and all clicks? Debatable, I've done it in solo play to grab attention, I've seen many solo youtubers do this as well. (Not to be toxic, just get attention away from gens).

    - Hook dives are indeed more common with SWF, but I've seen more cheeky solos do this to farm BT than I'd like to count, and as I said before, with DS being such a popular perk, you can almost assume a person has it and be right a good amount of the time.

Head on plays are a good indication though, I will give you this one as well, I've run it in solo play but out of all the times I have I think I've used it as a team play about ~15 give or take

  • @Rey_512 said:

DC penalties are needed. The only “game-breaking” glitch I’ve ever experienced is the basement hook turning your screen black, and that was fixed fairly quickly.

Like the mod said, the timeouts are shared for killer/survivor, as it should be. There are far too many babies playing this game who DC because they were the first to be downed.

I'm not saying they aren't needed.

The thread was for people who think the DC penalty is actually multiplied for Killer exclusively.

Basically, monky boys they are 🐒🐒🐒

  • Sadly again, just no.

Otz still got a 4k for one.

Two, he himself mentioned in the video he made ~Several mistakes~ and made it clear to his chat, though it was clear he was frustrated that game.

Three, his build is a meme build, yet he managed to 4k with the lowest tier killer, again showing that he truly belongs at the rank he is because... Well he's a good killer main lol

Killers can tell the difference between good solos and SWFs by the timing of saves, team perks such as BT vs seeing solo perks such Bond or self-care and style of play such as the prevalence of body blocking and running past lockers with Janes in them.

Also when everyone is teabagging, they are probably on comms.

That's not true at all lol. It might give some clues, but do you play solo survivor?

    (From a solo PoV)

Timing of saves are entirely dependent on positioning. It doesn't matter if you're playing in a group or not. I could be closer than anyone or the furthest away.

The only solo perk you mentioned is Bond, which might give some indication of Solo Vs SWF, but I typically see this perk run in SWF groups with members less than 1k hours who don't particularly know the map too well other than the simple places (ie. Killer Shack). Borrowed time is a general use perk and I gladly use it while playing solo. Actually I'm not the only one, Tru3Talent has used this perk a lot when playing solo as well. The only perk that might cue you in to swf is OoO. I hardly see this perk in solo play.

Last note, teabagging is not swf exclusive.

If Killers can generally tell the difference then I sincerely doubt it's the way you depicted it to be.

***There's no real way to 100% be sure without asking in the end of the game or checking profile friend lists***

  • A large portion of the bad killers will quickly shout SWF after getting rolled by solos.

Really unsurprising. Even if people mention an all meta team with x item (which they also refer to as death squads), and that they are really good at looping and split gen etc etc; they are 1 in a dozen. It's rare for killers to face death squads let alone back to back. Both sides always have something to complain about and for whatever reason instead of targeting the meta perks more they go after SWF and call it cheating lmao

I disagree. You can tell a good few of the times. It's not every single time or anything, but there's some hints, subtle and otherwise. Not trying to be mean at all,but I'm sure you realize you can only take 4 perks. You can't counter everything. Solo you can get a teammate that's a potato. The advantage could be as simple as "bring a toolbox and each do a separate generator while I run the killer through a God loop and we'll switch". Easier to coordinate for unhooks for sure. A good killer might be able to realize some of the things going on,maybe. Is it "unfair"? I guess it depends. To say there is no advantage just doesn't seem right to me. If I play any game with a group of friends and can communicate I'm going to have an advantage,as opposed to just some random guys where I have no idea how they are going to act or if they will even do ANYTHING. The thing is,it's a moot issue anyways. There's no way to fix it. You couldnt stop PC players from voice chatting period. There's too many apps. They could remove it and face backlash,or buff the killer somehow and get the same backlash. Rock and a hard place.

You can tell the difference easily between a group of solos that are just really good and a team of swfs on comms who are giving information to each other granting them an unfair advantage. There is a level of coordination that is simply not possible in solos. While some killers will yell "swfs!" Just because they got looped and outplayed by really good survivors (which isn't toxic, it's just being outplayed), that still doesn't negate the fact that cheating swfs exists.

That is just simply not true at all.

How do you as a killer determine whether the people you are facing are in a swf?

There are already plenty of Perks, Visual, and Audio Cues that will tell you where a killer is at most of the time. The level of information you get as a solo is nearly the same as SWF. Fun fact, one of the main reasons I don't run DS, is to have that extra bit of information that will tell me if the obsession is being chased or not. You can also, as a solo, tell when a person gets injured, and when they go down, and WHERE. (With the exception of Knockout, a heavily underrated perk.)

Where is the unfair advantage? Sure you could argue that object and BT and DS blah blah. All of these have a counter (Perks & Addons)

I'm pretty sure 90% of the killer community to quickly shout swf are indeed just getting outplayed at hay bale loops. As well as not being able to truly discern what is and what isn't a swf

  • Honestly the people who say they run into 4 man toxic swf are just lying to themselves.

How do you exclude toxic Solos.

If you get 4 toxic Solos, these people would assume that they are a swf.

Imagine getting upset over teabagging tho. It's literally playing into what a survivor wants you to do... Get mad and make a mistake.

I do agree that SWF isn't the problem people are making them out to be. Coordination can happen quite a lot in Solo Qs too. Those who have played survivor long enough pretty much know the Survivor MO and will almost instantly recognize coordination opportunities.

    Example,

Teammate vaults shack window towards the inside but gets downed by a hit from the outside. Simply point or wave at nearby pallet, ez pallet save

  • I like how

    - After demonstrating where you stand in the ranking with Hillbilly with no perks or addons (with proof), people are still doubting your skill to 4k without perks to begin with.

    - The solipsistic killer mains kept pointing to Nurse and Spirit as if they had to do with anything in this thread.

    - You have a valid thread with really valid points, yet people misunderstood your main point.

It's honestly amazing at this point.

  • Ranks dont matter anymore. It's a mmr system now ain't it.

They are likely in your mmr range

  • If you're saying it's not because of Ruin's nerf then idk

Mostly MM for me as well but I still enjoy Killer because solo Q survivor is hell

Actually it really depends on the area you live in which determines how good the internet is

A number of years ago it was impossible to get good internet where I lived (just off from a big city) wholey because of the wires/cables and modern stuff wasn't in place.

If the infrastructure isn't in place for reliable internet then it's impossible to play without problems unless you move home or something. It's a frustrating issue many people have and money can't really solve.

Getting a job and buying good internet doesn't solve anything especially if as this person says, he already has a job which pays for the internet he receives.

I think the best thing to do is complain to your internet supplier about how unreliable and unstable your connection is. Mention that you signed up for functional internet yet it sometimes ends up being unusable.

It might take them a while to fix the issue due to lots of people having the same issue but it's worth a try.

Yes this actually works. ISPs are constantly updating their hardware and software but are very reluctant in giving it out. You just gotta keep pestering them for it to actually give you the good quality stuff because it's what you're paying for.

You do know this is a worldwide game right? Don't know where you are but some people dont live in a place where internet choices are offered. I myself am not in a third world country by any means but am still stuck with the only one isp that is available where I live...

Did you read what I said.

    "Depending on where you live."

I made an example using US money, because America is a leading power giant. the price ranges in good areas are about the same if you convert it to let's say quid.

  • Get a part time job.

God internet can go for up to $50 a month depending on your area.

That's easily affordable in just 20 hours or work per week. (Plus you'll have money for yourself).

  • They should just make it so that it gives killer the undetectable status for a few seconds after a hook.

The perk as it is now is just to encourage camping and not to do the main job of a killer which Is to get survivors off the gens

  • In that selection of perks I only run DS when I solo Q. I just get farmed and it can be really annoying to be tunneled.

I still run Balanced Landing and DH or Head on together because I find myself in need for one or the other mid chase a lot.

BT and Adrenaline are Eh. BT is easier to counter than DS, and Adrenaline is such a hit or miss perk I rather bring useful consistent perks instead. Same way with DS though. I either get slugged when I have DS and picked up immediately when I don't

  • How does the new penalty system correlate to the ranking system. You DC a lot?

Eh, honestly, my idea on this is just - quit being so altrustic. Yes yes, I know the Devs whine and cry if we don't play tag on the schoolground - but let's be real. If a killer wants to camp/secure a kill - then go do your gens and stop trying so hard for a 4-live. Yes it isn't fun for the one being camped - but the game should not be catered around the idea that the Survivors should get to be buddy-buddy and save each other without any decision-making or tough calls.

Also, take a look a why Killer's camp to begin with -- to guarantee a survivor down so the game slows down some; to punish toxic survivors; and because Survivors are so hardwired to need a 4-live that they will abandon their gens and all 3 will freaking try to make their way to the hook for those juicy unhook Bloodpoints.

But less points is awarded for the camp.

I sincerely doubt killers camp for bp

Also to tell survivors to quit being so try hard for trying to get a 4 man escape from a camper is incorrect.

Tryhard survivors will just rush the Gens and force a depip on the killer

  • Legion.

What can I say. As a man of culture, Susie's thighs are great eye candy.

Other than that, Indo enjoy playing Legion regularly and it's my most played killer.

  • I feel like making BT an exhaustion perk will be bad for those with SB trying to save a person who is being camped. They would have to remain in a walking speed while rescuing which is terrible lol

Killers would just abuse it and keep downing the same person

  • The perk is still somewhat the same as it used to be before the nerf. It's the same complaints in a new page, it's honestly tiring.

It's a great carry from gray ranks down to purple and red though.

I think the role it has serves really well because it teaches us not to rely solely on one perk. Similar to how some people rely on DS but hardly get the chance to use it.

Playing survivor, it was pretty stale going against Ruin literally almost all of my purple and red ranked games to the point whenever I played with my friends, One of us would take Small game or a pink map and make the perk useless and force the Killer to play without it. Amazingly, a few killers I versed would instantly DC after seeing their Ruin gone in less than a minute. Pretty pathetic tbh.

On the other hand, Playing with Ruin as Killer was eh at best. The slowdown was nice, but it still had way too many drawbacks than it does now. Survivors would hit all of their skill checks, They would Gen tap or hold m1 for a few seconds then tap the gen to avoid the RNG.

Ruin felt pretty pointless to run without pop, because I still had to chase people down to use pop and waste time going to the gen to kick it after a hook. New Ruin allows me to freely exert pressure without having to come back to a gen to kick it after I run survivors off of them. The Surveillance combo speaks for itself though. It's really good info.

Though admittedly, I would keep the regression until the generator is touched after the hex is cleansed.

There are 3 points here though:

    1. It becomes very obvious what the killer is attempting to do very quickly.
    2. It takes nothing more than a DC to ruin it...much to the survivors delight.
    3. There is nothing killers can do to prevent this.

    Sadly that is correct.

My advice is to try and mask it as best as possible.

Or drank yourself to potatoes and do it to them :/

  • I believe they said the base gen speed was fine.

Dont remember if they addressed anything that increased it tho other than toolboxes

  • Idk

I think it was just salty survivors getting extremely salty over being put *only in the basement

I dont think they pay attention too much to killer challenges because, well, it doesn't concern them. They could put 2 and 2 together and think you're doing a challenge but Idk, again some may do it out of spite to mess your challenge, and some are just salty.

I guess try to put em In basement on their death hook

Quick edit: Lmao Insidious basement camping ofc you got DCs in the vid

  • The grind is ok tbh.

4-6 hours of gameplay with offerings will get you a million BP easily unless u just have poor game sense.

Rinse and repeat and you can P3 a character in less than a week... there arent many so the devs are not gonna ease up on the grind on them just yet imo.

  • This video is exactly why I take care of DS as early as possible
